Almeracian Danny and Dani
As the Justice League found the boy playing in the space, The Green Lanterns, thanks to their ring, were able to learn he is an Almerícan, but it seems the boy Danny has no idea about it as he was asked. He flew through a green portal into that cool Space Station!! He wants to stay!
For Superman, it was just one question.
Clark:" So, do we have to talk to Queen Maxima as he is a child of her planet? If yes, I won't be here. But far, far away." Bruce:" I mean, it's a war culture on Planet Almerac, and he seems like a good kid. He can stay if he wants." + Danny still likes it to fight, and he fought against Wonder Girl who too loved to fight against him. It was simple but fast friendship. + Billy as Shazam meet later the young girl Almeracian Ellie/Danielle and Superman was having a shock as he saw Shazam fight her. And he wanted to warn the boy! But turns out Dani liked to fight Billy, and helped him train his human body. + + Bonus Because they like him hate Green rock (Kryptonite/ecto-ranium) and it makes them weak And spend the last few weeks praying "Don't be my children, don't be my children from a AU Universe!"

So…The United Planets being in the modern day is officially a thing
How would you utilize it as a part of DC(and the Superman mythos) going forward?
The United Planets has thankfully been something that's been carried forward even after Bendis' run on Superman ended.
Tumblr media
Makes me happy because apart from the Invisible Mafia and Red Cloud? Having Superman actually form the United Planets in modern day DC was one of the best parts of the Bendis run. It opens up a whole new field of stories that can be told with Superman, and offers a chance to flesh out DC's Cosmic side (which has historically been much weaker than Marvel's). Now we've got this fledgling organization founded by Superman that aims to be a democratic body for various races and planets. How is that going to work when some of these groups have been at each others throats for millennia before mankind even existed? Keep in mind that some of the members, such as Thaaros, Sinestro, and Zod, don't share Superman's morals. There's a good chance that the United Planets could mutate into something besides the organization dedicated to peace and justice that Kal intended for it to be, if the darker elements manage to take control.
And there will be attacks from outside the United Planets that will demand a response. How is Superman going to respond to those kinds of threats? How will Zod and the more ruthless members of the United Planets respond to those threats? Many would be quick to advocate for war as a method for solving disputes with other groups. Some might go as far as to suggest either enslavement or genocide against any group that poses a security risk or endangers the safety of the United Planets. For some of the members it wouldn't be that taboo behavior to respond to attacks in such way.
Aside from the internal politics and power struggles, there will also be external threats. We already had the previous Mongul attempt to destroy the organization, doubtlessly there will be more attempts from other directions. Besides the obvious threats, Brainiac, Solaris, the other Superman, GL, and any other DC Cosmic Rogues, there's one Superman Rogue in particular who I think would be perfect to head up an organization that acts as the United Planet's ideological rival: Maxima.
Tumblr media
Almerac is a place we know barely anything about beyond Maxima being the ruler and her Royal Family practicing eugenics. That means it's a blank slate that can be crafted into something deeper, something that makes Maxima a more interesting Rogue or LI for Superman and the United Planets. Way I would revamp Almerac is that besides being the planet where Maxima was born and rules, it is also the capital world for a group of various races and planets united in one organization: The Empire of Almerac. Unlike the United Planets being a federation with a democratic government where each member species has a voice, Almerac is a totalitarian government with the where the final voice on matters is Maxima's (in theory anyway), and they grow by either conquering other worlds and forcing them to join as vassals, or getting them to join willingly as protectorates. Some worlds would find Almerac preferable to the United Planets because Almeracan protectorates are free to run their internal affairs as they see fit, long as they provide the mandatory tribute to Maxima and obey any orders issued. In contrast, the United Planets under Superman expects it's members to adhere to certain standards regarding personal liberties and basic rights before they are allowed to join.
Now you've got two competing organizations jostling with each other to become the main powers in a region of the galaxy. Both Superman and Maxima are viewed as the "faces" of their respective organizations, Superman being the founder of the United Planets and Maxima being the current ruler of the Empire of Almerac. You can contrast the two governments and their paragons in a way that lets there be a personal aspect to the realpolitiking happening as the two jostle for influence, given Superman and Maxima's history with each other. Neither wants to directly fight the other, but there are elements in each's organization that doesn't believe the two can coexist. Both aren't sure if the two organizations can coexist either, or if they should. Superman finds Almerac's imperialism repugnant, while Maxima views the United Planets support for democracy as an existential threat to her rule. Conflict seems inevitable and compromise doesn't even seem all that appealing either given the ideology underlying each is diametrically opposed to one another. Whether it results in war or if another solution can be found would be the main plotline driving the Galactic Cold War that materializes.

i will never not be anguished that maxima’s rebirth arc where she rebels against the man she was betrothed to and takes back her throne on almerac was written for diana instead of kara....... its just not realistic to me that max would seek out diana (someone who she hadn’t even met before) instead of kara (her friend that she trusts and admires). and i think it just would’ve tied nicely together with the moment in supergirl 2011 #40 where max tells kara that she gave her hope for her future, if kara then helped maxima take back her throne and reveal the truth about almerac’s original matriarchy.

I nominate Lobo 'The Main Man' and Maxima 'Queen of Almerac' for the title of power couple! He proved himself worthy when she challenged him to battle her over her prisoner and his bounty.
I didn't know I was taking power couple nominations (I'm not). While I can see Lobo and Maxima's chemistry, I don't personally like either of them very much from the media I've seen either of them in.

Sorry if I missed this in the headverse tag but what the beliefs/ethos of Extreme Justice and who on the team are "true believers"?
Essentially, they're a Superhero Doomsday cult based around Captain Atom's visions of the Crisis. Metatextually, they're my take on the "Proactive Super Team" trend that's always getting into fights instead of acting defensively, though in this case it's taken to its logical conclusion as a private army involved in geopolitical conflicts with no real end in sight besides the literal Apocalypse. Nate's a soldier at heart, so he actually went to Diana with his visions at first. However, after the failure of her first Justice Society, Diana lost faith in the capacity of metahumans to truly push large-scale change and insisted the League focus on humanitarian aid and defense against threats like Hyperclan and Apokolips. Nate, slowly going mad from his visions, left the League entirely and put himself in the middle of whatever conflict he could find. This turned out to be more attractive to a lot of metahumans than Diana's approach, so Nate soon had a small army:
Plastique (Nate's romantic partner, pushing him towards being "The Bomb")
Bombshell (Nate's granddaughter, incognito)
Lightshow (Hoshi Kimiyo, the heroic successor to Dr. Light)
The Wonder Twins, Shift and Downpour
Amazing Man
Maxima of Almerac
Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes)
Goldstar (Michelle Carter)
Elongated Man
Azrael (Jean-Paul)
Red Devil (Ed Bloomberg)
Fire (Bea)
Ice (Tora)
Star Sapphire (Carol)
Firehawk (Lorraine Reilly/Gehenna)
Killer Frost (Caitlin Snow)
and others. The group grows to match the League in scope, partially out of necessity as they're fighting Mitch Wacky, Kaizen Gamorra, The Authority, the US Military, occasionally Diana's Justice League, and various other threats simultaneously.
This last bit is something I'd usually put behind [redacted] but the big twist behind all of this is that Diana not only believed Nate's visions, she encouraged him to expand them with the help of her Lasso of Truth, and Extreme Justice is essentially an additional covert division of the League itself, with the Extreme roster being welcomed back into the fold by Lara when she begins building the Post-Crisis Justice Society at the start of the New Golden Age.

Eu tenho uma pergunta bem importante pra Melissa e pro Roman:
Por que aranhas ??? 😭

Red Lantern (Ragnar, Year 2036)
Real name: Ragnar
Eye color: black
Family: Iolande (elder sister)
Affiliation: Betrassusian royal family (formerly), The Void (currently), Red Lantern Corps, Apokolips
Occupation: Member of the Void, Prince of Betrassus (formerly), Protege of Green Lantern Dulok (formerly), Follower of Blackfire
Biography:
Ragnar is the former prince of Betrassus, and the younger brother of Queen Iolande. In the earlier years, Ragnar is inspired by a Green Lantern Dulok to become one, and was taken under his wing. However, little did Iolande know that what will become of him in the future will make a drastic turns for the siblings.
As he grew older, he would aid his sister in ruling Betrassus after she was crowned Queen. However, he would grow too ambitious as Dulok can see right through. Later, Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and Kilowog would arrive to warn Dulok of the Red Lantern Corps targeting their fellow lanterns. Upon hearing how Hal succeeded Abin Sur, his predecessor, Ragnar grew even more ambitious to not just to become a Green Lantern, but to also rule Betrassus as it's king.
Ragnar staged a murder on Dulok, which ended with the ring going to Iolande instead as his successor. After this planned failed, he would then targeted Kilowog for his ring. But it was thankfully an act staged by Hal and Kilowog to catch Dulok's killer, which is revealed to be Ragnar himself. Ragnar then abducts his own sister after he was caught for treason.
But Iolande managed to free herself with the Green Lantern's ring. Ragnar was then arrested on the spot. Instead of execution for treason, Iolande still chooses to sentence her brother in prison, in hopes he will still learn the error of his ways, as to her, he is still her brother.
While in prison, Ragnar received the Red Lantern ring, giving him the chance to usurped his sister's throne as a Red Lantern. But once again, Hal, Kilowog and Iolande managed to overthrow Ragnar, but he escaped in the process.
Since then, Ragnar had been on the Intergalactic wanted list. While wandering around in space, lamenting about his past failures, he was approached by Blackfire, a Tamaranean. Blackfire was impressed while dueling with him when he became suspicious of her at first. But Blackfire sees herself in Ragnar, being overshadowed by siblings, and outcasts to their own peoples. And took him in as her protege.
Blackfire then makes a deal with Ragnar, that in exchange for her to gain the throne of the Tamaranean empire, she would aid him in taking over Betrassus, and help him create his own empire, so that he can be named emperor.. Feeling he has a place alongside Blackfire, Ragnar chooses to allied himself with her.
Along the way, he meets Amon Sur, the son of the deceased Green Lantern, Abin Sur, Hila, the former princess of Xebel, Hector Hammond, a mad scientist, Maxima, queen of Almerac, Tamerkhan and his daughter Liat, and Atrocitus, the former leader of the Red Lantern Corps, and Sinestro, Amon Sur's Uncle by marriage and a Yellow Lantern, and Lena Luthor, Lex Luthor's younger sister and a top engineer compared to her older brother, and Kraken/Ka'liah, the daughter of Black Manta. Together, they became known as a team of Supervillains, known as the Void. Taking the places of the Light organization and pledged fealty to Darkseid.
After much training and battling his enemies, Blackfire awards him by becoming her right hand. Honored by this, Ragnar pledges his allegiance to her without question. Even if it means going against his sister and his own people. But that would be the beginning of his desperation for Ragnar to fell in love with Blackfire and attempts to prove his worth for her.
Personality:
As before, Ragnar was once a seemingly supportive younger brother of Queen Iolande, even opposed the customs for warriors to fight for his sister's hand in marriage as he once believed that his sister can rule in her own right.
But trouble stirs when he, at first wanted to become a Green Lantern, feeling overshadowed by Iolande. And let's jealousy gets the better of him for the more he strives to become a lantern. And now even desired to become king, even if it means eliminating his sister.
After becoming a Red Lantern, his rage lives on, not even his sister can reason with him despite her efforts to reach out to him. But it ended in vain as he still desired to break out of the shadow. Believing with a red lantern ring, he can have whatever he wanted.
By the time he joined the void, his ruthlessness grew a lot after pledging loyalty to Blackfire, as he thought she understood him better than his own sister. As well as willing to become her right hand. Showing no remorse for the more he accomplished his assignments ordered by Blackfire.

I was going on about this last night and figured i might as well make a tumblr post about it.
In the early 90s DC made some character trading cards with info on the back. Ive long thought Metron's pic was very funny, and i think ive posted here about how he looks like hes annoyed, like its a drivers license photo from the DMV and he was ticked off!
But what got me thinking last night was who drew this? And why this style for his costume and chair?
Click "keep reading" below to find out...
Tumblr media
[ID: The back of the Impel DC Metron card. It says Identikit along the left side and has a headshot of Metron unsmiling as well as a picture of Metron's Mobius Chair, which with the coloring of this image looks yellowish. The chair is geometrically shaped with the backrest looking like a hexagon. Other text on the card says:
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 190 lbs
Eyes: blue
Hair: black
First appearance: The New Gods #1 (February-March 1971)
Home planet: Unknown /END ID]
There are a few publications I'm going to refer to. New Gods 1989 by Mark Evanier et al, Superman 1986 #65 and #66 by Dan Jurgens, Superman: The Man of Steel #10 by Louise Simonson, and Who's Who from 1990.
First lets get the chair out of the way. Rick Hoberg is credit on card for the art, so we know who drew it. But where did he get his inspiration? Its very much not a typical design for the chair and adds in more angles than previous versions. I believe this is based off the Who's Who, which came late in the New Gods run, but before the Panic in the Sky event from the Superman titles. It's pretty much one for one with the card, just with more detail. The color from Who's Who even trends towards a more yellowy green.
Tumblr media
[ID: Splash page featuring Metron sitting in the Mobius chair with his chest puffed out and leaning to one side thoughtfully. The chair is similar in shape to the one on the trading card. Planets float in the background and Darkseid's face can be seen. Light bursts in all directions from behind the top of the chair. /END ID]
--
But who drew the Who's Who? The following page only credits the artists from New Gods 1989 for the thumbnails on the page not pictured here, and from scans I don't see any other artists listed. However, the DC fan wiki does list Dan Jurgens as one of the artists. And wouldn't you know, he'd go on to draw Metron in Superman just a couple years later. I think when you see his work it's pretty definitive he did the Who's Who art.
Tumblr media
[ID: Comics title page for "Head Man" featuring Metron in the Mobius Chair floating above a burned out city. He peers over the edge as hundreds of people leave the city on foot in a line. He narrates, "Warwold has visited Almerac - and annihilated a powerful and advanced society. I am Metron, and even I now recognize - that the universe as I know it is doomed." /END ID]
--
Okay so that takes care of the chair. Now time to turn our attention to that hilarious image of Metron's face, which was the impetus for this whole thing. He's just SO done ha ha. I would love to read a whole miniseries about him and his exploits with this art. Let's see what we can figure out.
As mentioned above, Rick Hoberg did the art for the card. That's an easy place to start, and whaddya know, he did art and cowrote with Evanier on New Gods! In fact, his first Metron issue #16 has a 1990 cover date. So all this is taking shape right around the early 90s, which lines up with the date of the card (91 on the copyright and 92 for release from what I can find from shoddy ebay listings).
But there are a couple interesting things here. First, Hoberg's art on the card and art in New Gods are worlds apart. I couldn't even tell it was the same artists. Here's an example.
Tumblr media
[ID: Comic panel of Metron's face. He thinks, "I should not. Still, it would be an interesting experiment..." /END ID]
--
Um this does NOT look the same as the card. The forehead dot is orange and yeah that's about it. The similarities end there. And the art in New Gods consistently looks like this. So WHY was the card drawn the way it was?
To understand that, we have to look at the New Gods art that came before. Prior to Hoberg, Paris Cullins did pencils for New Gods. Take a look at the art and pay attention especially to the forehead cutout shape and the cheek shape.
Tumblr media
[ID: Comic panel of Metron with hands folded near his mouth thinking, "It is difficult to say if I am witnessing the remnants of unparalleled heroism... Or a stubborn and stupid reflex peripherally affiliated with it." /END ID]
--
Alright, now this is lining up with what's on the card. What I assumed happened was Hoberg was tapped to do the card, possibly bc he was the current or upcoming artist, but it was early enough that he hadn't actually finalized his style for Metron. Alternate theory is that the card art was due while Cullins' issues were still on news stands, so it was better to go with the style currently in print. Either way, it's interesting that he didn't carry that style over to his pencils on New Gods at least for the costume.
You might think "well that solves that!" But we're not closing the book on this just yet. We have to go back to Panic in the Sky. Weird how it's all tied together right? This time we're looking at Jon Bogdanove's art in Superman: Man of Steel.
Tumblr media
[ID: Cropped comic panel of Metron holding a mind control device and grinning maniacally. /END ID]
--
Interesting that even though Jurgens' art of sassy Metron and the blocky hexagon chair was featured in the most recent Who's Who, AND his art started off Metron's part in the Panic in the Sky story, Bogdanove followed what was established by Cullins. Was this an editorial decision? Did Bogdanove know about the Jurgens' direction for Panic in the Sky? Did he know about the Who's Who? Or maybe he just plain liked Cullins' take better? Guess we'll never know.
So in conclusion, comics art is a web of artists following each other's work and probably timing and editorial decisions about which design is most "correct" at any given time. Fascinating how just this one little trading card set in motion such a winding bit of research! Thanks for coming along with me on this deep dive, and I'll let you draw your own conclusions on why Metron looks so done in that card image!

In the universe of Superman 78…not only is The fourth world a bigger part of Superman’s life
But there is Maxima variant who is connected to the fourth world
Her name is Bekka…the maxima of the empire of Almerac, the daughter of Darkseid, and the mother of supergirl red and blue(Lara Kent/cir-el) who is the estranged daughter of Clark Kent that he unknowingly conceived after making love with Bekka during his adventures in space when he was in…a dark place in his life
Darkseid had an affair with the previous maxima of Almerac, conceiving Bekka in the process, Superboy prime states that this previous maxima looks more “comic book accurate”
Superboy prime also says that Bekka looks like the Wonder Woman variant from the gods and monsters universe…Whose also named Bekka
Complete with the sword that doubles as a mother-box
This is part of a long series of connections that the fourth world has with the Superman of Earth-78(Donnerverse)

Any thoughts on Vartox?
Busiek wanted to make him a "Namor" for Superman and that's probably the best route to revamp him into something I could take seriously.
Tumblr media
If I got free reign to revamp him I'd make him Maxima's kid brother. Raised his whole life knowing he could never get the Almerac throne, his royal life there was boring and sheltered to the point indulging in mindless hedonism lost it's appeal. Setting out into the cosmos to find a purpose in life, Vartox fought and fucked his way across the galaxy, scandalizing his relatives back home all the while. Eventually he goes after Superman both to test if Supes is a worthy consort to his sister, and also because fighting Superman sounds fun. Similar to Namor he shouldn't be entirely without a code of honor or some nobility to him, I envision him as having a lot in common with Conan, but also like Namor this is a guy wouldn't think twice about torching a city (or even an entire planet) for the crime of offending him.
Maybe he could even be a member of the Superwatch team of the United Planets, joining an organization opposed to his sister and the empire he was born into, simply as a middle finger to the lot of them for never even considering the idea of giving him any kind of actual authority over Almerac affairs. Make him a guy you can root for or against, someone who is self-aware about how ridiculous he can come off as but confidently continues on his path all the same, and he could work. Or just give him to the Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti & Justin Gray trio since they seem to love using him for their comedy books, and he is a good fit for those too.
