#And he looked so good on the card...
I honestly don't know whether I should laugh or cry.
Because what the hell is this:
Who thought it would be a good idea? Those baggy pants are atrocious, made even worse by those clown-sized shoes. The silhouette is completely screwed up here. You shouldn't wear things like that with a trench coat... And why on earth would anyone cut a piece of a coat to replace it with this damn green lace fabric? (The fact that it's transparent makes things worse because of incompatible colors)
All coupled with the look on his face that just screams "dead inside":
I would be too, if I had to wear such an outfit.
Seriously, who was the stylist? I demand to know who gave him these clothes. Whoever it was, they must be charged with crimes against fashion.

Imagine you finally meet up with the guy who stole both your wives from you
And his first threat to you is "now it's your turn"
Like Adam sure did hesitate with his attack for a hot minute there and can you blame him? Man was having his world wrecked before the fight even started.

You know what's gonna kill me when we get the inevitable Lu Guang flashbacks?
The fact he's always described as "mature" as his post-dive self implies he must be different now than before. It's hard to imagine exactly what his personality was like before, and if it's written well, he shouldn't be completely unrecognisable. But we know he's been changed.
Imagine a first timeline where Lu Guang just follows along with Cheng Xiaoshi, no attempts to reign him in whatsover. Cheng Xiaoshi having the opportunity to come up with more of his complicated tricks but channelling it into lower stakes stuff like pranks and Lu Guang actually enabling him in that and having fun with it. Imagine tragedy striking when Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi are both allowing themselves to be genuinely happy, no facades.
We know that Cheng Xiaoshi used to put on a brave face in light of his parents' disappearances and what that meant for how he was treated and what he was missing out on. But we also know that Qiao Ling and Lu Guang together have been able to lift that into something more genuine. Imagine a world where Cheng Xiaoshi was able to do the same for Lu Guang. Where they both mutually brought that light into the other's life.
It's still true to some extent in the current worldline, but it's complicated by Lu Guang's own actions. Lu Guang can never be fully honest with Cheng Xiaoshi without (in his mind) losing him forever. But he has to stick by his side in order to have any chance in his hopeless quest. And so, he must distance himself in other ways, protect Cheng Xiaoshi, enforce the rules. Swallow the guilt. It leads to a more lopsided relationship, one where one side is always hiding something from the other and refuses to open up themselves. A relationship that in the original timeline must have been more equal, as partners.
There's something that's been lost here, and it's not just the original Cheng Xiaoshi.

i totally get what you meant by paul having a submissive streak... I get the vibes that he can be very very very clingy and needy and just begging for attention and to be touched with those eyes looking up with the most pure look ever😭😭😭
!!!!! you're so so so right!!!!!!!!!
like... soft paul.... i really see him going the other way too, but he does have a softer, clingy, needy side... he is just so deeply in love with you and he adores you so much that he'll be needing your attention at all times. he loves feeling your touch, your presence, your eyes on him.
your fingers in his hair make him melt, his eyes fluttering closed at the feeling as his whole face just relaxes, a soft smile playing on his lips. when you wake up in bed together, there's just no way you're getting out before the afternoon – his arms will be wrapped around you and they will stay that way, holding you close and brushing his lips against your forehead.
i think he also enjoys being teased, like not overly much but a little bit. when you lean in to kiss him but pause just a millimeter away, he'll go crazy because the reward of then finally getting to kiss you is just too good <3
and when you're not giving him the attention he wants? the submissive look in his eyes, oh my... if he's finally back from a rough race weekend and he just wants cuddles, but you're busy studying, he'll try all of his tricks to lure you away from it so you can focus just on him. and he's def got a few tricks up his sleeve 🤭

after a lot of back and forth of “but I’m saving for episode 7, there’s gonna be four of them, gotta hoard” vs “this is a limited pickup, do you have EYES, go for the fairy ballerina” I ended up spending all 120 of my keys, didn’t get him, and now.
now they have the AUDACITY.
to go “oh btw he can also turn pink :) :) :)”
this is an attack on me personally and I have no choice but to vent my frustrations with an overuse of textures and watercolor brushes. if I can’t have him then at least let me have a million paper layers instead. >:(

Okay, I’m usually lukewarm about CodyWan, but an idea just crawled out of the void and clonked me on the head so hard that I have to share it:
Obi-Wan is sent to a large social event with Cody as his guard to check out a few people of power that are also supposed to be there. However, it would come across as very rude and mistrustful if it were even suspected that Obi-Wan is being guarded, so Cody has to act like an old friend that Obi just happens to run into at the party so there’s an excuse to hang off of each other all night.
They arrive separately, enter separately. Cody doesn’t see his general until Obi-Wan approaches him, and he turns around, and--
Cody has always had a bit of a...fascination with the general. He’ll never admit it out loud, of course, but he knows in his own heart that he thinks Obi-Wan is brave and loyal and witty and handsome, and it takes up quite a bit of his mind.
However, this pales in comparison to now, seeing Obi-Wan dressed up head to toe, at the peak of his charisma, smiling and laughing like he hasn’t seen Cody in years, kissing him on the cheek in greeting--
Cody enjoys the night far more than he should.
(So does Obi-Wan.)
