Mini Life Update!

After putting it off for (months) longer than I probably should have, I got a new phone! And I managed to get all of my writing WIP's moved over too! (They're all completely out of order now for some reason but I can live with that.)

That's it. Something good happened and I wanted to share. <3

The new android update is shit. Why can't they leave the format of our phones alone??? I understand if they want to implement these new formats to a new phone they're coming out with. But not every modern android everyone has had for a few years.

Android users might have google SMS demand they log in to their google account. I didn't want to do this because I don't use my actual name on my account and don't want my email name on my texts.

If you're having this problem, either see if your phone manufacturer has its own SMS service by typing SMS into the app search. Samsung did and let me skip past any log in. Or go to the app store and look up SMS and it'll give you free alternatives.

I am genuinely upset about this change in Android 14.

If I *willingly choose* to install an app with non-dismissable reminders it's because I NEED THOSE REMINDERS TO NOT BE DISMISSABLE.

My very reliable reminders app is basically useless now because I can easily and accidentally swipe the reminders away, losing them to the void. Yes, I could look in my history to see what it was but I can't restore it.

The whole point of the app is that I could not ignore them!! I had to say I did the thing or I had to delay the reminder. Fucking people and their "helpful" changes to how things work!!! This was a critical component of managing my ADHD and l it took me a few days to realize I was even doing this and it screwed up a lot of things. 😡
