"I need a drink!" Ron said cheerfully like he hadn't been bleeding in Harry's sofa just five minutes ago. "Where is Malfoy?"

"You need to get your arse to St Mungo and face your wife! Maybe stop doing risky stunts, too," Harry muttered, frowning at the idea of Malfoy roaming his home.

Harry found him in the library, the tip of his fingers touching his mum's face, then following a line to her sisters. Over Andromeda's old burnt face now lies, spellotaped, one of Teddy's drawings: Andy and Edward, followed by Tonks with her spiky pink hair holding hands with Remus wearing one of his old jumpers. Under them, in a line with a heart, Teddy's self-portrait.

Other drawings cover burnt faces too, Sirius next to a black dog his own size, followed by a line that connected him to a portrait of Harry, his scar shining yellow in Teddy's depiction, Sirius' godson written underneath. The last line joined Harry to Teddy, with the words Godfather written in red crayon. Teddy wants to draw Lily and James next, and Harry would've burned the whole tapestry down if he could, leaving just Teddy's additions that make his heart grow warm and incredibly full.

"Those are Teddy's, he's your cousin," Harry said, making Malfoy jerk and then flinch, bending into the pain. "Unbelievable, you're hurt too!" Harry muttered exasperatedly. "Sit and take that off," he demanded, uncorking the dittany once again.

"Merlin, Potter, buy me coffee first," Malfoy said while taking his shirt off over his head, showing an ugly bruise covering his side.

Harry blushed, and heavens... Malfoy noticed.

Prompt:  “Uncle Ron said something about Harry knocking Ginny up, but I don’t know what he means,” Teddy said.

Ron was still huffing grumpily as he stepped forward and pushed the door of their flat open for Hermione, so she wouldn’t have to adjust Teddy in her arms. His gracious show of chivalry clashed hilariously with the sour look on his face.

“Honestly, Ron,” Hermione laughed, shaking her head at him, “One would really assume you’d be used to it by now.”

“I have gotten used to it!” he said defensively. “I keep getting used to it, over and over, but then they just keep getting worse! If you want to snog your girlfriend, snog your girlfriend, if you want to talk with your best mate, talk with your best mate, but it’s downright rude to try to do both at the same time. But was there a single moment today where they weren’t draped all over each other? No! I don’t even want to think about what their hands might have been doing under the table. I mean, shit… ”

“Ron!” Hermioned hissed harshly, quickly covering Teddy’s ears.

But it was too late. “What’s shit?” the three-year-old asked innocently. Hermione shot Ron a murderous glare.

“I’ve told you Ron, for once in your life, watch what comes out of your mouth! Teddy is at a stage in his development where he’s very observant and curious.”

“What’s curious?” asked Teddy.

“That just means you’re growing up to be the most clever boy in the world!” Hermione told the toddler sweetly. She lifted up his shirt and blew him a raspberry, causing him to erupt into giggles. She put him down and he ran off to sit on the sitting room rug and start playing with the toys they had brought out before taking him today.

Ron was still grumpy as he plopped down on the sofa and watched Teddy absentmindedly. In hindsight, Hermione saw that she should have given him some time to cool off between ending their double lunch date with Harry and Ginny and picking Teddy up from Andromeda, to give her a night off to spend with other adults unencumbered. But if they had delayed at all, Harry would have jumped at the chance and taken Teddy himself. He was always using his role of godfather to indulge his martyr complex, but Hermione had steadfastly reminded him that Ginny was off for the first time in weeks after the intense conclusion to the Quidditch season, and she deserved to have her boyfriend all to herself.

Hermione sighed as she sat next to her fiancé on the sofa, leaning her head against his shoulder. “You have to remember, Ron, that Harry is still learning how physical affection works. He grew up without anyone ever touching him except to control him or hurt him. It’s called being touch-starved, it’s a real phenomenon in psychology. It’s understandable if he over-corrects in the other direction and doesn’t understand that public displays of affection come with boundaries.

She turned her head to look at him kindly, but found him giving her a deadpan frown.

“Seriously, Hermione? Not everything is related to something you read in a book once but somehow remember years later. This has nothing to do with Harry’s Tragic Backstory, they get more and more handsy because they know that it drives me up the wall, they’re just fucking with me.”

“What’s fucking?” asked Teddy.

“Sorr— Ow!” Ron helped as Hermione elbowed him hard in the side.

“Behave yourself,” she told him. “And don’t sell Harry short, that is not why he does it.”

She settled back into leaning against him, and he wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

“....That is absolutely why Ginny does it, though,” she added, making Ron snort with laughter.

They lapsed into a comfortable silence, content to just watch Teddy play with small smiles on their faces.

“Thanks for volunteering us to take him,” Ron said softly into Hermione’s ear. “Having him around, this time of the year….it helps.”

Hermione nodded somberly. “I know what you mean.” The next day was May 2nd. Three years to the day since the Battle of Hogwarts.

Hermione sniffed as she felt all-too familiar tears threatening to break free again. “Being around someone so young, someone who won’t ever remember how bad things had gotten, who would only know the new world we fought for. It reminds us that none of them died in vain.”

“Yeah,” Ron agreed quietly. “I think the rest of the family feels the same way, they always get super clingy with Vic this time of the year. Me too, I’ll admit.”

“Oh yes, I’ve definitely noticed that,” Hermione nodded. “Even more so than with Teddy, since she’s a Weasley. She represents your family’s survival and healing, I suppose.”

Hermione chuckled at something she remembered. “The worst of them all is your mother. She’s really been cranking the doting up for Victoire, and between you and me, it’s driving Fleur absolutely mad.”

Ron sat up a bit to face her, smiling mischievously at the gossip. “Oh yeah?”

Hermione nodded and smiled back. “She won’t say anything until she figures out a way to phrase it passive-aggressively instead of bluntly, but Fleur is clearly feeling smothered by the pressure of being the mother of the only grandchild.”

Ron’s smile faltered a bit, and the same grumpy mood he had when they returned home seemed to return.

“Well, she probably shouldn’t worry,” he grumbled. “If my best mate and my sister keep being as insufferable as they are, it’s only a matter of time before Harry’s knocking Ginny up—”

“Ron!” Hermione growled angrily, shooting Teddy a sideways glance, but fortunately he seemed too busy playing with his toy dragons. She breathed a sigh of relief, then started giggling.

“What on Earth makes you assume that?” she asked him incredulously.

“Hermione, if they can’t control themselves in the middle of a sodding café, what makes you think they can when alone in their flat?”

Hermione snuggled back up to him, pouting her lip playfully. “Well if that’s the case, why them and not us? I’d like to think that we’re similarly…. out of control at times…” she slowly brought a hand to rub up his thigh. Then, suddenly, her eyes narrowed dangerously, she stood up, and put her hands on her hips.

“Unless you’re saying that you’re just not as attracted to me as Harry is to Ginny?”

Ron just raised a skeptical eyebrow at her. “You’re trying to trap me because you think I’m adorable when I’m nervous, but you have to be less transparent than that, love.”

“Shoot, it was worth a try,” laughed Hermione, sitting back down.

“You know that I meant that you would never allow that to happen,” pulling her close again. “You can’t even make noncommittal plans for drinks in a pub without triple-checking your schedule and giving it a color-coded entry in your planner, there’s no way you’d ever let something as important as…. that just slip your mind. But you know how reckless those two are, is it really hard to believe they would neglect the Contraception Charm once?”

Hermione bit her lip thoughtfully. “No, I really don’t think so. There are some things that Harry and Ginny do take seriously, one of them is family, they wouldn’t be blasé about it. And don’t be so disgustingly modest,” she said, lightly swatting his leg. “I am not always meticulous, you know damn well you’re capable of turning me into a scatterbrained piece of goo.”

She wasn’t looking at him, but she could feel Ron grinning proudly at that.

“Oh yeah?” he murmured in her ear, and Hermione felt goosebumps erupt on her neck. He pulled her closer and Hermione felt herself blush scarlet as he whispered all sorts of things he planned to do to her to prove her right.

“What’s knickers?” asked Teddy, who apparently had very good hearing. Hermione blushed harder than ever as she elbowed her fiancé again.

It was after dark when Ron and Hermione finally stepped through the fireplace of the Burrow. They could hear the large, loud gathering in the kitchen before they saw it. They found Andromeda talking and laughing happily in the kitchen with Molly, Arthur, Bill, Fleur, George, and Charlie, all drinking either tea, firewhiskey, or some combination of both. But as pleasant as the evening had been, she still beamed when she saw her grandson running towards her.

“He wasn’t too much trouble, was he?” she asked apologetically as she scooped the toddler into her lap.

“He was a delight!” said Hermione cheerfully.

“Yeah, this kid stuff is easy!” said Ron dismissively. “And yes, that’s a git thing to say, feel free to saddle us with him until I regret it.”

Andromeda laughed and thanked them again. After Ron and Hermione returned home through the fireplace, Teddy rested his head on Andromeda’s shoulder. He was clearly very tired and was starting to get fussy.

“Well,” Andromeda sighed, “I guess I should get this one home. Thank you so much for having me, all of you.”

But then, Teddy spoke up in a sleepy voice.

“Grammy, what’s knocking up?”

There was a loud crash as Molly dropped the teapot onto the kitchen floor. Fleur gasped dramatically, Bill coughed and sputtered on his firewhiskey, while George just erupted into laughter.

Andromeda pulled the boy off her shoulder and looked at him sternly. “Edward Remus Lupin, where did you hear that?” she asked.

“Oh, I believe we know where” Molly growled as she flicked her wand to levitate the shrapnel on the floor and started to reassemble it into a teapot, “I honestly don’t know where these sons of mine got such foul mouths. I have half a mind to go after Ronald and remind him that he’s not too old for me to wash his mouth out with soap. I am so sorry, Andi.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” said Andromeda. “Harry can swear just as well as any Weasley.”

She addressed Teddy again, more gently this time. “Go on, Teddy, where did you hear those words?”

“Uncle Ron said something about Harry knocking Ginny up, but I don’t know what he means,” Teddy said.

The kitchen of the Burrow had never before fallen so quickly, completely silent. The only sound was another crash as Molly dropped the teapot again.

Augusta Longbottom sat with Andromeda Tonks. Augusta knew the younger woman's pain all too well. Both lost their loved ones to war.

Augusta's youngest brother Neville Bulstrode I was killed at the end of Gellert Grindelwald's War.

Her nieces Wakana Bulstrode died and Folashade Bulstrode was greivously wounded in the Battle of Exmoor. Her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Alice were tortured into insanity shortly after the First Wizarding War's end.

During the course of the Second Wizarding War Andromeda's husband Edward Tonks was killed in the Forest of Dean evading Snatchers.

Her daughter and son-in-law, Nymphadora and Remus were killed in the final battle of the Second Wizarding War.

Augusta had raised her only grandchild Neville and now Andromeda would raise Edward or as he was affectionately called Teddy.

They sat in silence for a few more minutes before Augusta spoke.

"I would like for you and Teddy to accompany me to my maiden house the Bulstrode Villa this afternoon."

"Also a good fresh air will do you some good."

Andromeda was surprised. She didn't know the older woman was a Bulstrode by birth. Andromeda eyed her warily and agreed.

Augusta wasn't someone you could easily say no to either.

Andromdea freshened up Teddy up and bundled him in his coat.

The Longbottom matriarch sent a patronus message ahead. The trio used the floo, and appeared in a grand entrance.

Augusta motioned to a young girl that was around Harry, Hermione, and Ron's age. The older witch called her Millicent. Millicent was accompanied by another, it was Andromeda's younger sister Narcissa.

"Cissy?"

"Andy?"

Narcissa looked just as confused Andromeda did.

It had been just a weeks earlier that they met for tea.

Augusta cough and interrupted the sisters short reunion.

"There is someone that wants to meet the both of you."

They were escorted to a large sun room. There were portraits of two witches who were all to familiar to Andromeda and Narcissa.

Another pair of sisters from the House of Black, Cassiopeia and Dorea. The two painted women looked haughtly at their great-nieces. Dorea especially eyed Narcissa with much disdain.

In between the portraits sat an elderly and yet regal woman. She was not painted and very much alive. Next to her was a black and white photograph, of a young man in rugby attire, signed Marius B. It didn't move like magical photographs.

There was tea and refreshments laid out on the table.

"Come in now don't dawdle."

Augusta removed her signature Gainsborough hat and bowed.

"Lady Violetta, here are Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy as requested."

"Violetta!?" Andromeda and Narcissa were both taken aback.

"As in Violetta Black? There has to a mistake?"

"Our great-grandmother passed away in 1946 three years after her husband Cygnus."

"Aunt Burga told us." Narcissa exclaimed.

"This is why you are in the mess you're in, because you lot listened to Pollux's daughter as if she were Morgan Le Fay herself." Dorea pointed at Narcissa.

"If I wasn't a portrait I'd ring that pale goose neck of yours!"

Narcissa eyes widened, she shrank back into Andromeda.

Dorea Black, their great-aunt had married into the Potter family, her husband Charlus Potter. Dorea was a relative of Harry Potter.

"Here I am in the in flesh."

Violetta picked up a teacup not taking her eyes off of her great-granddaughters.

You two have survived a great deal." "Who'd imagine the Princess Constellation and the Little Daffodil as the last ones standing."

Cassiopeia clucked her tongue and rolled her eyes.

"Does one have to dutiful follow her husband even in death?" Majority of the wives of House Black outlived their husbands and gained a much needed peace of mind."

Isn't that right mother?"

Violetta cut her eyes to her youngest daughter's portrait.

"Dorea voiced raised. "So now little Cissy decides she doesn't want to be apart of the heard! "Now she has her own thoughts, now she has a mind of her own that came apparently far too late!"

"Stop it." Andromeda stood firmly.

Cassiopeia raised an eyebrow. "You're defending her?" Letting bygones be bygones? Oh little princess, you are far to kind."

"You know the three you always reminded me of another trio of sisters from our family. Callidora, Cedrella, and Charis."

"Except the roles are reversed. Cissa here is just like Callidora who was the eldest and Bellatrix takes the role of Charis the youngest of the three don't you agree Rea?"

"Oh yes Pia."

"Charis was a madwoman she just hid it better, politics was her vice. Oh the bodies she buried for the Ministry." Narcissa, you knew her grandson, Bartemius Crouch Jr. quite well I presume?" Dorea shook her head in disgust.

"Cassiopeia scoffed. "What now? Kneazle got your tongue?"

Violetta held up a hand. "Girls that's enough calm yourselves."

"Andromeda, Narcissa please sit down."

"We have two more guests that will be joining us shortly and then we shall start.

Their great-grandmother's voice was stern.

Andromeda and Narcissa looks at each other, they felt like little girls back at 12 Grimmuald Place. The two huddled together on a sofa. Andromeda was still holding Teddy.

"May I see the little one? Violetta's voice softened."

Andromeda got up and sat beside her and gently passed her grandson to her great-grandmother.

How old is he?"

"He'll be two years old in three months."

"Teddy reached out and touched Violetta's robes his hair turning a shade of magenta."

"Oh my! He is a metamorphagus like my father-in-law's aunt and uncle, Alexis and Eduardus. Even Misapinoa and Iola had children that were meta-wix as well."

Really? exclaimed Andromeda. "My Dora was a metamorphagus as well."

"Of course it is an inherited trait after all. There is a great deal you two don't know about the older generations of House Black."

"Well only what you all have been told."

There was a soft knock on the door. It was Millicent again.

"Excuse me, Mrs. Black and Mrs. Prewett have arrived."

Augusta got up. "I'll escort them in."

Mrs. Black? If their great-grandmother was still alive then who else? Narcissa looked at questionably at Cassiopeia and Dorea. The two remained silent.

Violetta continued to play with Teddy.

Andromeda thought of Molly and her grand-aunts but their maiden name was Prewett and this was a "Mrs."

Narcissa and Andromeda gasped as they looked toward the doorway.

"Melania, Lucretia good to see you." Violetta nodded.

Melania Black (née MacMillan) was the grandmother of their late cousins Sirius and Regulus Black. She had been married to Arcturus Black III.

Andromeda looked up at the portaits as another woman crossed over into Cassiopeia's frame.

Lucretia Black. She was Sirius and Regulus aunt. Aunt Walburga's cousin and sister-in-law. Lucretia also just happened to be Molly Weasley's aunt by marriage as well.

Melania stood in front of Narcissa, she turned and frowned at Andromeda. She didn't seem to be pleased with either one of them.

A tense moment of silence.

"How about we we take Teddy to the to front gardens for a bit of playtime and snacks. And you all can catch up. I've got bubbles!" Millicent nervously interjected.

Narcissa looked at her son's former housemate with pleading eyes.

Teddy excitedly clapped his hands. "Oh Grammy bubbles!"

"Alright you can go" Andromeda tightly smiled.

Augusta and Millicent stepped out of sunroom with Teddy quietly closing the door behind them. Leaving the witches of House Black alone.

"Oh shit, Aunt Gussy."

"Oh shit is right." Augusta exhaled.

"Oh shit" Teddy repeated giggling.

"Damn it, I left my hat."

Millie shook her head, "I'm not going back in there."

'Well, this is unexpected,' Andromeda Tonks said, one hand still on the door.

There were muffled voices and then the sound of shuffling feet. Harry snapped his head up from where he was buttoning the onesie around Teddy's legs. There was the unmistakable scent of cider that announced their guests even before they entered the living room.

Andromeda was bullshitting about them being unexpected, of course. There were four packages sitting under the Christmas tree, a glaring reminder of the white lie.

'Potter!' Draco sounded startled.

Narcissa held out her hand. 'Harry Potter, it's good to see you.'

Harry lifted a green eyed and brown haired Teddy onto his lap and shook hands with them both. 'You too, Mrs. Malfoy.'

The three of them sat in an uncomfortable silence as Andromeda went bustling about her kitchen, preparing tea.

'Ted-' Harry began and paused. He cleared his throat once. 'Teddy's my godson,' he said by way of an explanation.

Narcissa hummed.

'I take care of him from time to time,' he went on. 'If I had more time on my hands, I'd look after him completely but I'm not free. Because of school.'

Harry realised he was rambling and his face went red. Draco seemed to feel similarly awkward. 'Yes, obviously,' he said.

'Yes.'

There was the suffocating stillness to the room again disturbed only by Teddy babbling and chewing on his fist and clapping wildly at something.

It was weird. It was the same Draco he saw and spoke to everyday at Hogwarts. Hermione had even once pointed out how, barring Draco's Ancient Runes class, they were both practically joined at the hip. Harry was forced to concede her point after they had returned, happy, light and laughing, from their impromptu trip to a place whose name Draco still refused to give.

So why did it feel so different to meet Draco at Andromeda's on Christmas? It possibly had to do with Draco's mother being in the picture too. It could also be because of that conversation in the train but the probability of that is considerably lesser.

'You'll be in London then? For the entire break, I mean.'

'Yes.'

'And uh,' Draco shifted in his seat, 'and for Christmas too?'

Harry had a distant feeling as if Draco wanted to know where Harry would be to send him his present. 'Yes, I'll be in London for Christmas too. I uh,' he said, scratching the back of his head, 'um, that's where my plans are this year.'

'Of course. Plans.'

'Yeah, plans.'

As Harry racked his brain to take the conversation forward, Andromeda entered and everyone relaxed as though released from a freezing charm. She took one look at them and rolled her eyes.

'Teddy and I will be having our lunch over there. You are welcome to join us after you are done being a kid.'

She settled Teddy onto her hip, who switched his eye colour to blue, and walked out of the room leaving them staring at each other. Draco snorted and that was Harry's tipping point. He let out a short laugh, dusted his hands on his trousers and stood up. 'Shall we, Mrs. Malfoy?' he said, extending his arm.

'Are you going to escort my mother?'

'Do you want me to escort you?'

Draco stilled, looking at his feet before stuffing his hands in his trouser pockets and walking off.

Narcissa chuckled, looping her arm through Harry's. 'If you are lucky enough, Mr. Potter, I shall one day let you know about his broomstick,' she promised with a mischievous glint in her assessing eyes.

Harry frowned at that. What did being lucky mean and what of Draco's broom?

'Mother! I heard that!'

Narcissa only laughed louder.

Evening had more surprises in store for Harry which didn't include the gifts their expected guests came with. Harry had scoured through London with Kreacher because "only the finest wine for Miss Cissy, Master!" Needless to say, Narcissa was not only impressed but thoroughly determined to see to the end of it by that night.

'French colognes for a posh idiot,' he smirked, levitating a gift wrapped box onto the coffee table.

Draco glared, adjusted Teddy on his knees and quickly gathered his gifts. Harry watched as they resumed playing with the toy train he gifted Teddy, Draco making sounds that had nothing to do with trains and Teddy making sounds that had nothing to do with language.

It was a heartwarming sight.

Harry loved Teddy so much that he was repeatedly told the only reason he wouldn't get custody of Teddy would be because he would spoil the boy to bits. Harry would shrug because "what else are godfathers for, do you think, Andy?" He had undoubtedly taken a leaf out of Sirius' "How to be the best godfather" book. As such, Harry could deny Teddy nothing.

His patience was usually tested come Teddy's nap time. Putting a high on sugar and energy Teddy to sleep was about as easy as convincing the Ministry of Voldemort's return had been.

Andy and Narcissa were in Andy's room, talking, finally, after years of resentments and misunderstandings so when Teddy started to fuss, Harry decided not to disturb his grandmother. He had been quietly preparing to tackle Teddy's sleeping problem anyway.

'Shh,' Draco whispered, bouncing Teddy on his knee and looking pleadingly at Harry.

Harry laughed and plucked Teddy out of his hands. It was probably the familiarity but the toddler calmed down a bit. Harry paced up and down the room, one hand continuously patting Teddy's back.

He settled into the armchair opposite Draco's that the latter had drawn close to the fire and held Teddy close.

Harry didn't want to sing in front of Draco but Teddy woke up when he sat and Harry had no choice.

It was not in tune and slower than the original song but Harry lost himself in it. Teddy had slept somewhere in the middle of it. Opposite him, Draco was also sleeping, head drooping to his left, mouth slightly open. Harry only had the energy left to smile at the sight before he closed his eyes as well.

The Life of Edward “Teddy” Remus Lupin-age 19 in the Epilogue

Face Claim: Brenton Thwaites (Teddy with his natural hair and eye color)

Teddy was a metamorphmagus like his mother-his go to hair color was a teal color, but if often changed with his mood. Naturally (which was only usually seen when he was sick or sad) was a sandy brown color and dark brown eyes. He was often stated that without the metamorphmagus abilities he was a spitting image of his father. He grew up with his grandmother, Andromeda, but was almost a permanent figure in the Weasley-Potter household (or as many of the cousins called it-the Wotters). He visited the Potters on the weekends and was at Shell Cottage at least three times a week to have play dates with Victoire. Andromeda knew it was important for Teddy to hang out with children around his age, so often you could find Fleur and Andromeda sipping tea while Teddy and Victoire-and later Dominique and Louis as they grew older playing on the beach. Victoire was his best friend growing up as the two oldest in the Wotter clan (he made himself an honorary member). As far as his relationship with Harry, Ginny and the Potter children-Harry and Ginny told him stories of his parents that his Gran often struggled with telling because it was too painful for her. He was just as protective of Lily as James and Albus were and before he went off to Hogwarts, often acted as a buffer between the two brothers. When he went to Hogwarts, he had assumed he would be sorted into Gryffindor as his father has been and all the Weasleys have historically been placed there. But when he had the sorting hat placed on his head, the sorting hat stated that his big heart, compassion, and willingness to help everyone strongly favored his mother’s characteristics balanced by the loyalty he inherited from his father-and that is what placed him in Hufflepuff. He made friends with Oliver “Olly” Wood-son of Oliver Wood and Katie Bell-a Gryffindor just as enthused with Quidditch as his father and a muggleborn Hufflepuff named Amy James. Many people thought he didn’t play Quidditch due to the fact that he was almost as clumsy as his mother-but the true reason is that he was afraid of heights. You would very rarely see Teddy in the stands of a Quidditch game, you would often find him reading a book next to the almost empty lake. He really only had two serious relationships though. The first was with his best friend Amy James-he felt like he was in love with her until Vic got attacked and he felt a rage so powerful that he suddenly realized he had been in love with his childhood friend all along. They started dating just shortly before he graduated from Hogwarts and when Vic was in her 5th year. With Vic still being in school, and Teddy busy with auror training, it made having a relationship exceedingly difficult, but they stayed together through it all. Teddy proposed to Vic at her graduation party from Hogwarts. They got married the next summer at the beach where they spent all those years together. They had a small wedding (as small as you can get with all the Wotter clan present) and had their honeymoon in France. A couple years later, after Victoire had established her career, she became pregnant with a boy they named Remus “Remy” William Lupin after their fathers. Two years later they had a daughter named Andromeda “Andi” Fleur Lupin, Teddy highly debated giving her the name Nymphadora, but since his mother despised it so much, he and Victoire decided against it and when they had another boy three years later gave him the name Tonks Harry Lupin as his name and the name his mother went by for the majority of people.  They had thought they were done having children but five years later, a surprise pregnancy led to their final child they named Dominic “Nick” Louis Lupin.

RTARL’s 2020 NFL Season Week 6 Extravapalooza

This week’s slate of early games....is not good. If ever there were a day to forgo NFL football and attend to some neglected tasks around the house, catch up on some paperwork for the office, or even spend some time with family, today is that day. OR maybe just drink more than usual to make the football appear more attractive than it is. Both paths are healthy and good.

My picks are in BOLD, and the lines come to us courtesy of our friends at Vegas Insider. I use the “VI Consensus” line, which is the line that occurs most frequently across Vegas Insider’s list of sportsbooks. Your sportsbook of choice may offer a different number, and if you’d like my opinion on said number A) you are insane, and B) leave a comment below and I’ll try to answer at some point before things kickoff today. 

EARLY GAMES

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-3.5)

Like everyone else, I was GREATLY amused by Derrick Henry leaving a chalk outline of Josh Norman on the field via stiffarm in the Titans’ win over Buffalo on Tuesday. That said, Derrick Henry isn’t having a great season thus far. He’s averaging a career-low 3.7 yards per carry (down from 5.1 last year and 4.9 the year prior). His drop in efficiency has been masked by an increase in attempts (25 per game this year, 20 per game last year). His longest run so far this season is a measly 16 yards. Is he already wearing down? Is this just small sample noise? I dunno, but I don’t feel super great about his prospects today despite the great matchup, considering that he just had 20 touches against the Bills on Tuesday night.

Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts (-7.5)

I really don’t have much to say about this game. I’m rooting for Joe Burrow like always, but this Indy defense is nasty and he’s still a rookie. Could be a rough one for him, but don’t worry I still think he’s the coolest and wish more than anything that he’d start smoking cigarettes on the sideline.

Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings (-4)

We’re long past the point where I need to accept that my faith in the Falcons was misguided, and yet here I am, picking them to cover once more. Gotta capitalize on that dead Dan Quinn bounce, baby! At least this time they’re squaring off against another squad of top-shelf bed-shitters in the Minnesota Vikings. Each of these teams have already sustained multiple heartbreaking losses already this season, with the Vikings somehow picking up two one-point Ls in their last three games. I’m genuinely impressed by the ability of these franchises to rip the hearts out of their own fanbases. Even when they blow games in ways they’ve blown them many times before, they still somehow manage to make it feel fresh. That’s not easy.

Denver Broncos at New England Patriots (-8)

As of now it looks like Denver QB Drew Lock will be back for this game, which is nice. He’s going to be without RB Melvin Gordon and TE Noah Fant, which isn’t so nice. After what felt like an eternity, but was really only one game, New England is getting QB Cam Newton back after his asymptomatic bout with COVID-19. Hallelujah!

Honestly, I don’t have a clue what to expect in this game. The Broncos haven’t played since October 1st, and the Patriots have had their facilities closed multiple times over the last couple of weeks, so practice has been sparse. I’m gonna go ahead and assume this one will be kind of ugly for both teams and I’m tempted to take the eight points. That said, I think Denver is really going to struggle to score, so fuck it I’ll make the homer pick.

Washington Football Team at New York Giants (-2.5)

Baltimore Ravens (-9.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles QB Carson Wentz is a broken man, his offensive line is in shambles, his favorite target (TE Zach Ertz) is either completely washed or isn’t trying due to contractual unhappiness, his #1 WR today is a 2019 6th round pick named Travis Fulghum, and he gets to face a Ravens D that ranks in the top 5 in EPA (Expected Points Added) against both the pass and the run and that blitzes at the second highest rate in the league. He’s gonna have a bad time. Luckily, fans will be allowed inside Philadelphia’s stadium for the first time this season, so he’ll at least have kind words of support from the stands to keep him going.

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5)

This is a tough matchup for Browns QB Baker Mayfield. He’s struggled with accuracy all season, and I can’t imagine having injured ribs is going to help him zip the ball where he wants to, especially after he gets hit a few times by the very good Pittsburgh pass-rushers. My #1 hope for this game is a bench-clearing brawl, preferably after Myles Garrett levels Ben Roethlisberger and then taunts the hell out of him.

Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers (-1)

It’s time for me to admit that I was wrong in my belittling of Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater and the rest of the Carolina offense. They’ve been sharp as hell, and there’s been hardly any drop-off at all going from injured All-Pro RB Christian McCaffery to journeyman backup Mike Davis. Add WR Robby Anderson to the growing list of players who have IMMEDIATELY flourished after escaping the vortex of incompetence constantly swirling around incredible dipshit Adam Gase.

Detroit Lions (-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars

BIG CAT BATTLE! In a fight between Lions and Jaguars, it really comes down to terrain. Lions are bigger and stronger, and if this confrontation were out in the grasslands they’d have a decided edge. However, this contest takes place on the turf of the Jaguars, where they’ll be able to use their agility and climbing skills to their advantage.

LATE GAMES

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-9.5)

I’d like to think a thorough ass-kicking by Miami here would rid the Jets players of Adam Gase once and for all, but expecting a logical move from an unqualified failson is probably unwise. I’m enjoying what the Dolphins are putting together under Brian Flores, the first good Bill Belichick disciple. 

Green Bay Packers (-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 

Most of the focus on this game has been on the QB matchup, which is understandable. The fact that each of these guys is welcoming back an All-Pro WR (Davante Adams for GB, Chris Godwin for TB) does make it extra spicy. But, I think the deciding factor here is gonna be defense. This is bad for the Packers, because outside of DB Jaire Alexander, theirs has sucked so far. Meanwhile, the Bucs come in at #2 overall on Football Outsiders Defensive Efficiency Rankings, where they’re equally effective against the run or the pass.  

SNF: Los Angeles Rams (-3) at San Francisco 49ers

Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo looked horrific last week in his return from an ankle injury. He was clearly not close to 100%, and despite positive practice reports this week on his injury status I can’t buy in until I actually see him able to step into his throws. I was actually surprised to see the O/U on this one at 51.5, as it feels like a low-scoring game to me, a man who definitely knows what he’s talking about.

MNF (Early): Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) at Buffalo Bills

I’m furious with Kansas City for bringing in RB Le’Veon Bell to siphon touches away from my beloved Clyde Edwards-Helaire. IT’S NOT HIS FAULT THE O-LINE CAN’T RUN BLOCK WORTH A DAMN! Anyway, due to COVID-19 protocols, Bell won’t be suiting up for this one, so here’s to CEH ending his time as the primary back in a blaze of statistical glory. These teams are each coming off of bad losses, so I expect them to come out guns-a-blazin’. The Bills are fun as hell, but I can’t take them in a shootout against K.C. just yet.

MNF (Late): Arizona Cardinals (-1) at Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott’s gruesome injury was a huge bummer, even if you’re like most right-thinking people and viscerally dislike the Cowboys. I hope he recovers and eventually ends up with the huge pile of cash he was headed for prior to his lower leg turning into a Rice Krispies Treat. As far as backup QBs go, Andy Dalton isn’t terrible, but you know what is? The Dallas defense. I don’t think they can make enough stops to keep the Cowboys in this one, even if the offense still looks decent.
