Askeladd gets more outfit changes than Canute and I think thats funny.

Just looking at shirts to keep it simple- no boots, cloaks, mantles, ect. Canutes are more obvious, but this man's hauling a whole wardrobe around with him, huh?

Why Hvitur?

I got myself thinking into something confusing about the prologue of dragonet prophecy... Just why Hvitur?

A sandwing (Dune) got Sunny

A nightwing (Farsight) delivered Starflight

A seawing (Webs) got Tsunami, and later by RainWing laziness, Glory

A mudwing (Asha) got Clay

What in the actual HELLS was Kestrel doing? Did they seriously thought Hvitur would perform better than her? If Kestrel had done ANYTHING, she would be faster than Burn and her soldiers could even react to start pursuing her.

Even if they did, it would be the easiest task to lose them through the mountains and storm.

Sending Hvitur was basically planning to FAIL.

As much as I think the prologue was exceptional, a bang of a beginning for the series (quite literally), it literally doesn't make any sense.

It was very poorly planned by the Talons of Peace, which well, competence is not their most defining feature later anyways, tbh.

I'm so excited/terrified to see what happens after crocodile betrays Robin cause like. She's Luffys best friend and he's so not gonna take that well. Part of me thinks that Luffys gonna runaway(with Robin?) because of it and that's how we're gonna start meeting other people

Can you tell me all about your favorite blorbo, LU or otherwise? Why do you love them? I have a guess, but maybe I’m wrong, and the WHY is the best part.

WILD BEST BLORBO, as I'm sure anyone that has even glanced at my stuff could guess that.

I've already said it on here, but in the context of my own story, I love the struggle of him trying to figure out who he is, wanting independence and wanting someone to watch out for him (ie. Twilight), how much of his past defines him, how much of his future is actually his own to decide, y'know that sort of coming-of-age story and all that jazz with a spritz of Fate and a slight sprinkle of Hylia is a mean mfer.

The why? Gah I'm trying to figure out how to answer this in a way that doesn't spoil all of BDOR. But basically, I find it really fun and challenging--and also quite self-reflective, cuz y'know therapy isn't free but fanfiction sure is--to write like five emotionally stunted beings in a trench coat resembling one semi-functioning edgelord of a human without A) also making it SUPER obvious that I am doing so, at least for arc 1 and B) not coming off as "inconsistent characterization," at least so much so that people stop reading XD

So now my question to you, dear SkipBreaker, is the same--who is your favorite blorbo (I think I know who lol, at least for LU but you don't have to answer that way) and why?

I think prologues and epilogues are great bookends that provide a helpful expectation of the pacing you're about to get. As far as me writing them? Whelp. I tried.

Arc/Volume 1 was originally titled Prologue. And then it became 250 pages.

It was supposed to be a prologue because it's setting up the major conflict in Arc/Volume 2 but we could not in good conscience call a 250 page section a prologue.

I expected Sunset to have an epilogue but probably if I head into it with that in mind, we'll end up with an Arc/Volume 4 so I should likely just not plan on that.

You post a lot about webcomics that are destined to not be finished due to the creator spending too much time on Arc 1 and whatnot, and I hadn't fully gathered how that manifested until i realized that a comic i had been following was on chapter fifty and the event the comic was titled after hadn't happened yet. I know it gets worse in other examples, but...wow.

I once read a comic that had been running for six years, and in that span had not managed to advance beyond the prologue to the chapter-zero prequel to the planned first act.

At the point where I dropped it, it was doing an extended flashback inside an intermission to the prologue to the prequel to act one.

The funny part is that it had managed three hundred pages in those six years, which is a very good pace for any independent webcomic whose author isn't literally killing themselves through overwork.

Like, I need to emphasise that the problem – a problem I bump into over and over and over again – is not webcomic authors being "too slow" to update. It's webcomics being hilariously over-plotted for the frequency of updates their authors are demonstrably able to produce.

I'm not sure where this massive disconnect between webcomic story outlines and webcomic update schedules is coming from, but it's definitely something that's gotten much worse in the last decade or so, and I strongly suspect Homestuck has a lot to answer for.

The prologue has been re-released on itch.io and you can play it now! The first two scenes have been heavily revised while the last scene is entirely rewritten. There have been some quality of life fixes (though I'll also be adding a few more in the upcoming weeks) such as improved audio settings and a skip to final scene option.

If you run into any bugs or errors, let me know. The best way to do so is through an ask here on Tumblr or in the Zorlok Discord server (screenshots are always helpful if possible).

You can find the updated content warnings for the Prologue under the cut. If there's anything you think should be added or reworded, just let me know.

I am so thrilled and happy to share this with you and even more excited to keep sharing this story with you. The next update will be part of episode 1 and I'm hoping to get that out within the next few months (though we'll see since I'm a librarian and summer reading is coming up).

Last night I was on the grind. I figured out an entire season 1 arc for this. Like no joke. I really want to expand on my idea more, cause I think there are some really interesting ideas and concepts from both franchises I can play with.

I actually wanna try making this into a webcomic. But, I admit I'm really bad with long term projects like this. There is no guarantee I'd finish this lol.
