Check then right then and there by asserting your boundaries calmly and standing up for yourself. They will then understand that they can no longer disrespect you. ❞ — H.S.

I don’t want to be a lawyer but I love debate and watching the moots mock court. Any tips on how to be transversed in communication and confident speech like lawyers when they prep? Thank you!
Thoroughly review and research
Deep dive into all of the facts and plot points/characters & timelines of your "case"/argument
Create a logical story arch based on fact, statistics, reason, and common sense with enough evidence to dispel the counterargument (the "defense")
Refine your argument to engage in compelling, convincing storytelling using words, factual-based arguments/interpretations, personal anecdotes, visuals, videos, etc.
Hope this helps xx

The Power of Assertiveness: How to Harness It for Success

Assertiveness is a valuable communication and interpersonal skill that empowers individuals to express their needs, opinions, and boundaries confidently and respectfully. Harnessing the power of assertiveness can lead to personal growth, improved relationships, and greater success in various areas of life. As an talktoangel online counselor, I can provide some guidance on how to develop assertiveness and use it for success:
Using assertiveness for success:
In the workplace, assertiveness can help you communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors, advocate for your ideas, and negotiate for better opportunities.
In personal relationships, assertiveness fosters open and honest communication, leading to deeper connections and understanding.
In managing stress and conflict, assertiveness can help you express your needs and feelings, reducing resentment and tension.
Assertiveness can lead to increased self-confidence and self-esteem, as you gain control over your life and decisions.
Remember that learning to be assertive may take time and practice, especially if you have a history of being passive or aggressive. If you find it challenging to develop assertiveness on your own, seeking help from an “online counselor” or therapist can provide valuable support and guidance in this process. They can offer personalized strategies and techniques tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.

how do you deal with people copying you…
When on occasion, whether socially, behaviorally, or aesthetically, take it as a form of flattery
If persistent, take the compliment that someone admires your taste and preferences in things or how you think/hold yourself in different situations, but consider distancing yourself from this person because they probably are jealous of you and your life. You don't want them to become obsessive, clingy, or try to sabotage you because they can't develop their own sense of self & personality
At work or school, ensure all of your original ideas, work product, and related communications regarding your projects are documented via email, Slack, or voice recordings. Have sources to back up that someone is trying to steal your ideas, clients, opportunities, and projects. Call the person's intimation out as necessary to get recognition for your work. It's one thing to share the credit in a group effort and another to be overshadowed by someone stealing your ideas to get sole credit or overstepping to stifle your professional growth/new opportunities
