the really fun thing about making suki zuko’s personal guard is that she absolutely would figure out he’s the blue spirit. it’s literally her job to be on top of him, she would figure it out in under a month. and she would know that asking zuko to stop is a lost cause so she would follow him out. i need you to stop and picture the look on zuko’s face when he finds out suki knows he’s the blue spirit.

✩ chapters containing smut!
Tumblr media
chapter one : honeymoon (6.7k words)
[ Absurd.
That is the only word that comes to mind as you stare at yourself in the mirror. “His favorite color is blue.” ]
chapter two : silent treatment (7.4k words)
[ Something is wrong. You bolt up from the pile of blankets that you call a bed and your eyes dart around the closet as you furrow your brow trying to discern why you feel so much different. ]
✩ chapter three : the smitten paladin (4.6k words)
[ You’re starting to think the planet isn’t the reason you’re so hot all the time.
You had woken up this morning feeling a bit better than you thought you’d be, your stomach is full of butterflies but you're still standing and considering the night you had you’re gonna take that as a win. ]
chapter four : sarad'ika (6.8k words)
[ Sarad'ika.
You won’t forget it this time, you can’t. So you write it in your book, just under Mando’s favorite color you write the two little words that have been keeping you up at night. ]
✩ chapter five : lunar interlude : just a man (5.0k words)
[ Absurd.
It’s absurd how much the job pays. Din’s not even sure he should take it at this point because it’s too good to be true. ]
✩ chapter six : torment (5.1k words)
[ Okay, maybe you didn’t think this through.
You didn’t think he’d actually come in and now suddenly the door is shut and you’re alone with him. ]
✩ chapter seven : just friends (3.1k words)
[ Maker it feels like it’s been an hour and you’re both just laying here. He was just inside of you; it shouldn't be so hard to find something to talk about at this point. ]
chapter eight : solar markets (5.3k words)
[ It’s nice to wake up excited again.
You wish you could say that it happened more often but hopefully it will from now on. It’s going to be your first time leaving the castle grounds since you got here. ]
✩ chapter nine : shuk'la rules (5.6k words)
[ You need sex.
Normally you would be satisfied for quite some time after getting off but for some reason with Mando it was different. But it’s only been two days and you need more. ]
✩ chapter ten : lunar interlude : briikase gote'tuur (4.1k words)
[ He’s grateful for the break from you, even if brief.
That’s not to say that he doesn’t enjoy every moment he gets to be in your presence but the more time he spends with you the harder it gets to remember that this isn’t real. ]
chapter eleven : he loves me not (4.6k words)
[ Something is wrong.
All day it’s been wrong.
He’s different. Distant. ]
chapter twelve : pretend (4.4k words )
[ Two days.
That’s what you’re willing to give yourself. Two days to get over it. One to get it all out of your system and one to pull yourself together. ]
chapter thirteen : lunar interlude : vercopa (3.5k words)
[ He did it.
He did exactly what he knew he needed to do.
So why does he feel worse than ever? ]
chapter fourteen : condemned (4.9k words)
[ You’re having trouble sleeping.
You have no problem falling asleep, it’s mostly staying asleep. There’s a million different things that consume your thoughts and everytime you drift into unconsciousness you find yourself jolting awake, barely able to stay asleep for more than an hour at a time. ]
chapter fifteen : two tea parties (5.4k words)
[ “What did you do to her?”
Her voice breaks through his sleepy haze as he sits up properly.
“Excuse me?” ]
chapter sixteen : absolution (4.6k words)
[ There’s a visceral sense of dread when you wake up, for several reasons.
The glaring obvious culprit of your discomfort would be the fact that today’s your husband's birthday. ]
chapter seventeen : the apostate’s cabin (3.5k words)
[ Just Din.
It’s sinking in as you walk in silence, holding his hand tightly as he pulls you towards his home. ]
chapter eighteen : portrait of a man (5.4k words)
[ It’s deliciously warm when you wake. You can feel his heartbeat and you can feel the soft traces of sunlight dancing along your back. You stretch in his arms slightly but freeze up as you feel him nuzzle his chin into your hair, planting a kiss against your hairline. ]
✩ chapter nineteen : reverence (7.3k words)
[ You really want to.
You couldn’t possibly want to more than you currently do.
It’s actually a bit mean. That he’s left you here in this state. ]
✩ chapter twenty : like real people do (8.4k words)
[ Mando and Din.
All you can think about right now is how there must be two of them.
You’re playing with his curls. ]
✩ chapter twenty one : te mirci't (9.0k words)
[ “It means I love you.”
You aren’t entirely sure how long you stare at him, looking rather silly with your jaw practically on the floor. ]
✩ chapter twenty two : it’s you that i lie with (11.3k words)
[ Naboo has several trading ports.
You could get him on a cargo ship. That would be the most inconspicuous form of transport. It would help if he was willing to ditch his armor. ]
✩ chapter twenty three : lunar markets (15.0k words)
[ Sneaking out of the castle gets easier every time you do it.
It only takes a few minutes and you’re walking outside towards the forest trail, Din’s hand in yours, still giddy. ]
✩ chapter twenty four : lunar interlude : riduur (7.8k words)
[ He doesn’t deserve this.
How could he possibly be deserving of you? Yet somehow you make him feel as if he is. With your soft touch and the way your eyes get just a little bigger when you see him. ]
✩ chapter twenty five : wedding bells (11.7k words)
[ Four days of Leo.
You were upset that Din was leaving you but you got over it rather quickly with the promise of his hasty return. ]
chapter twenty six : crucifixion (12.7k words)
[ “My room is too big.”
He bursts into genuine peals of laughter and you gently smack his arm.
“Don’t laugh, it’s a serious issue! My room is enormous.” ]
chapter twenty seven : the apostate (6.0k words)
[ Silence.
That’s all there is in his brain.
It’s hard enough as is for him to hear. It doesn’t help when he’s been beaten half to death. ]
✩ chapter twenty eight : a place for us (8.4k words)
[ You’d spent the better half of the day trying to get on top of him.
Every time you managed to get close he’d simply set you down on the nearest surface with a kiss on the cheek and go back to doing whatever he was working on. ]
chapter twenty nine : the best kept secret (epilogue) (6.1k words)
[ The morning sun is warm against your face, you bask in it, unmoving and only half awake until you feel a tiny hand slapping your cheek. The illusion of tranquility is immediately shattered as you softly laugh. ]

It was strange that the elevator had arrived on your floor, and even stranger that it was empty. Your penthouse apartment took up the entire top floor of the building and required a keycard just to use the private elevator. Only Max had the spare keycard.
Sticking your head inside you found it wasn’t entirely empty. Tucked into the corner was a gift box tied off with a delicate silver bow, your name written on the tag hanging from it. You thought about calling Max first but it wasn’t unusual to receive gifts from him so you carried it inside and opened it.
Your jaw dropped at the beautiful ball gown neatly placed inside. Each crystal of the glittering bodice was individually sewn on with meticulous care and it must have cost a small fortune to make. There wasn’t even a label to give a clue as to who the designer was, but it was clearly custom made and you knew without even stepping into it that it would fit perfectly.
Lifting the train out, you found an equally stunning half mask along with a small blank card that you turned over. Hand written in an elegant script is said: Le Bal Masqué 2200. You looked at the time and saw there was just over an hour to get ready.
You had just settled the mask over your styled hair when there was a knock on your door and you slipped your heels on before answering. Expecting to see Max waiting, you were surprised to find a stranger holding a card with your name on it, silently handing it over before you could ask what was going on.
It’s your turn to find us tonight, M.
“Your car is downstairs, madame,” the messenger said as he held the elevator door open for you.
The excitement brought a smile to your face as you stepped inside, wondering just what he had planned for you. You obviously weren’t hunting them the same way they chased you on the island, the dress was far too nice to ruin.
You were occupied by your thoughts the entire drive through the streets of Monte Carlo until you arrived at a cliff side residence. The gates opened at the car’s approach and you could see the mansion was full of men wearing their finest suits.
“Have a lovely evening, madame,” the chauffeur said as he opened the door for you.
You thanked him as you stepped out, your entrance garnering plenty of envious stares from the women and looks of longing from men loitering on the steps. You had scanned what you could see of the men’s faces beneath the masks and determined why this was a hunt - three had the same blue eyes and dirty blonde hair as Max while two could have easily been Charles at first glance.
Smiling to yourself, you climbed the stairs and entered the large foyer full of men who could all pass for yours.
“Champagne?” You took the flute from the waiter’s tray and saw two rolls of stickers beside it. Noticing the curious lift of your brow above the diamante mask, the waiter tapped the first roll. “The green sticker is for when you believe you have found one of the drivers here this evening, there are only ten so choose wisely. If you believe you have found an imposter, place a red dot on their lapel and they will be escorted off the premises. You have until midnight. Happy hunting.”
You smirked over the rim of your champagne flute and grabbed the roll of red stickers first. Turning to survey the crowd, you chuckled as you whispered to yourself, “Oh Max, you’ve outdone yourself.”
Tumblr media
“Enjoying your evening?”
You turned to the man with a thick Spanish accent and immediately knew he wasn’t your Nando, though the jawline beneath the mask followed the same curve and his short beard was shaped similarly. The voice was too deep and the eyes were more green than hazel to match Nando’s so you plucked a red dot from the reel and slapped it on his suit as you answered, “Extremely. Thank you for coming.”
His lips turned down and a large unmasked man stepped out of the shadows, already guiding him out of the residence. You were already making your way to the ballroom where the crowd swelled, dozens and dozens congregating on the dance floor where a band were playing new hit singles but in a classical way. Perhaps band wasn’t the right term, there were so many instruments it was practically an orchestra.
An arm curled around your waist as you swayed to the music and you tipped your head back to meet a pair of brown eyes so dark they were almost black. He didn’t speak as he pulled you closer and for the first time you weren’t certain if the man was an imposter or your Esteban.
“You’re not going to ask how my night is going?” you baited him, a quick smiling parting his lips as he shook his head. Pursing your lips, you weren’t ready to rule him out with a red sticker but you needed to hear his voice to decide if he was worth one of the precious ten green dots in your hand. “Then how about a drink instead?”
His smile grew as he took your hand in his and led you to one of the small bars dotted around the ballroom. Looking at the long fingers laced with yours, you saw a thin tan line on his index finger where a ring had spent a lot of time and you tried to remember if Esteban had one too. Charles, Pierre and Lando definitely did but the memory of Estie’s hand drew a blank - you knew his fingers from how they felt between your legs not by sight apparently.
“Two piña coladas, please,” you ordered as you watched what features you could around the mask but there was no sign of disgust. “One for the road,” you added as you placed a red sticker on his collar.
“How did you know?” the lookalike asked with an English accent.
“Pineapples.” You shrugged and took the cocktail that was placed in front of you. “He hates them.”
Half an hour later the crowd had thinned dramatically. The security team had been kept busy as you felt like the Oprah meme, slapping red dots on the imposters - you get one, and you get one. With a large portion of men gone you were able to focus better and there were two men in particular you had your eye on.
All it took was one laugh and you were peeling back the first green sticker, heading for the pair of dark haired men chatting in the library. Their backs were to you as they laughed at silly book titles and you announced your arrival with a kiss to the shadow of a beard before sticking the green dot to his forehead.
“You two together was always going to be a dead giveaway,” you teased as you stuck another sticker on Lando’s nose. “Only Carlos can make you laugh like that.”
“Don’t tell me we were first?” he whined as he saw the otherwise full strip of green dots. “How have you not found George?”
You trailed a finger over the perfect lines of his suit before tugging the bow tie around his neck. He swallowed at the smouldering look in your eyes and let you drag him closer by the throat until your lips brushed his ear. “Why don’t you help me?”
His lips parted to answer but Carlos pulled him away before he could impart the information he knew. Blocking you with his body, Carlos shook his head at your attempt to break the younger driver. “Rules are rules, hermosa, and you are running out of time.”
He jutted his chin at the grandfather clock and smirked as he ducked from your reach with a laugh when you tried to take back the green sticker. “Uh uh uh, I’m well and truly yours.”
“You’re lucky you’re handsome,” you warned as you left them to their game and continued your hunt. “Alright, George, Gerorge, George, where would you be…oh.”
You had wandered through the throngs of people inside the impressive mansion but you hadn’t explored the rest of the property. It was very easy to understand Lando’s complaint when you walked out the wide open doors to the infinity pool set on the cliff face.
“I’m not sure how I’m going to get this to stick to you,” you said as you held a green dot on your finger tip. George grinned beneath his mask as he looked up from the waters edge enjoying a warm dip in the pool. Water dripped from his hair and ran down his chest as he stood up, tracing a wet palm up your calf through the slit in the dress. He was the only one at the soirée who had taken his suit off and he had also decided to put his bow tie back on before hopping in the heated pool. “You look like a stripper.”
“A very expensive one I hope,” he teased. “You look hot, love, you should join me and cool off.”
“Wish I could,” you sighed, feeling a little like the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, “but I’m running late and still have seven of you guys to chase down.”
George pulled himself out of the pool and grabbed a towel, a few drops of water catching on the crystal bodice as he shook his hair out. He dragged the towel down his body and you used the dry spot on the centre of his chest to plant a green dot on him. “Tagging my heart, love,” he chuckled, leaning in to kiss your cheek. “You don’t need to chase us, we are waiting for you.”
He sent you a wink as he swiped up his suit and left you poolside, confused by what he meant. “You’ll figure it out, I know you will.”
Dawdling along the balcony, you chewed over his words before realisation struck. You found Lando and Carlos together and George in the water - places where they loved to be. It seemed so obvious once you thought it and you rushed inside to the ballroom. You hadn’t questioned why the orchestra was masked but when you spotted the dark head of hair at the grand piano it made sense.
“It’s my favourite Frenchman,” you whispered in his ear and the melody bounced over a miskey.
“Monegasque,” he corrected automatically, turning to see the amusement shimmering in your eyes. “Bonsoir, mi bella.”
“You might want to rest those fingers, Charles, wouldn’t want you to get a cramp later.”
He grinned at the remark and dragged them across the keys. “Don’t worry, I’m just warming up.”
“So am I.” You reached out and stuck the green dot to the index and middle finger on his right hand before kissing the dimple on his cheek. “Those are mine.”
You followed a waiter as he slipped from the room with an empty tray and found a set of stairs leading down a floor, into a busy kitchen. Your next target stood out among the white shirt chefs and you were once again amazed at how they had managed to find strangers with such a resemblance to your drivers.
“What’s cooking, good looking?”
Fernando turned with a spoonful of something that smelled delicious and your lips parted for him. A heavenly moan hummed from your chest as you tasted what he had been stirring on the stove. Nando smirked as his eyes followed the line of your lips before he leaned in and caught them with his, rolling his tongue across your bottom lip.
“You missed a bit,” he said as he wiped the spot of sauce with his thumb before licking it clean. You momentarily forgot what you were doing but he had his wits about him as he took a green sticker and placed it on his collar. “Now this is my colour.”
“Not red?” He shook his head as you flattened the dot to make sure it wouldn’t be lost in the 25 minutes you had left. “So the Ferrari rumours…?”
“Just rumours, querida, but I don’t think you have time to gossip.” He pointed the spoon to the clock above the head chef’s station. “There’s still a few spots left.”
“Vegan special,” the chef shouted as he hit the bell for service and a waiter arrived in an instant. “Deliver this to the home theatre.”
“One less now.” You grinned and pulled another sticker out. “See you at midnight.”
You followed the waiter into the quiet depths of the mansion until he reached a door and you took the plate from the tray. “I can take it from here, thanks.”
Lewis was so engrossed in the film he didn’t notice it was you in the room with him. It was only when he looked closer he saw the green dot stuck to the white china plate in your hands and looked up with a wide smile.
“I take gratuities in orgasms, just so you know,” you said with a laugh as he moved the plate and pulled you onto his lap instead.
“It’s your lucky night, baby,” he purred in your ear as his hand slipped up the slit in your dress. “I’ve been told I’m a heavy tipper.”
His fingers teased along the lace edge of your panties and you only just managed to clear your head before he could erase all your thoughts with his touch. “Rain check,” you groaned, not wanting to leave just yet but Fernando had given you an idea before the chef had set you onto Lewis’ path. “Where would you go if you wanted to hear the juiciest gossip?”
Lewis chewed his lip as he thought it over before deciding, “The bar, a few drinks definitely loosens lips.”
“Then that’s where I need to go.” You thanked him with a kiss before leaving the theatre and made your way back to the busiest room in the place. But, before you could leave the lower levels you heard a distinctive accent and skidded to a stop.
“When they said you guys came from a land down under, I didn’t think they meant the basement.” Daniel’s smile split his face as you stepped into the games room where he and Oscar were chalking their cue sticks.
“Thank god you’re here,” Oscar sighed gratefully and placed the cue down on the table, turning to face you with a smile. “I suck at playing pool.”
“Maybe that’s because it's billiards, not pool,” you pointed out as you stepped into the space between his legs.
“I don’t even know what that is,” he admitted, his hands running over the dresses bodice and down to rest on your ass. “You look gorgeous.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in a suit.” You straightened the bow that had tilted at some point and draped your arms around his neck. “It suits you, handsome.”
His nose wrinkled and you giggled as he tugged at the tie, sending it off kilter again. “It feels like I’m being choked.”
“There’s some pleasure to be found in a bit of choking. Isn’t that right?” Daniel asked in your ear as he stepped up behind you, his fingers delicately circling your throat. He guided your head back to his shoulder and traced his nose over your racing pulse, inhaling the sweet scent of your perfume. “Hmm, maybe we can show him how good it can be.”
You could feel both of them coming to life as they sandwiched you between them, digging their erections into you. Your eyes fluttered shut at the temptation to drop to your knees and taste the Australian drivers, but you forced your eyes open and squirmed free of their intoxicating embrace.
“Soon, promise,” you panted as you slapped a sticker on Daniel’s ass and made Oscar whine needily when you placed one over his tented trousers, rubbing your palm over it to make sure the green dot was secured. “Very soon.”
The largest bar was set up in what you guessed was usually a dining hall and it spanned the length of the room. Leaning against the bartop was Pierre, his chin on his fist as he listened to the revellers unravelling their innermost thoughts aloud. He was engrossed in the tale, nodding encouragement when the woman’s cheeks turned scarlet red beneath her mask.
“And what did he do?” Pierre asked eagerly.
The woman covered her lips as she giggled before leaning in and whispering her confession. Pierre’s lips parted with a gasp, his eyebrows rising over the top of his mask as he stood upright. “Non!”
“Oui!”
Pierre spun around at the sound of your voice in his ear and he tore his mask from his face. “Ma chatte, look at you,” he said with a playful bit of his lip as you gave him a slow spin to show all of your curves glittering beneath the chandelier light. “Beautiful. And just in time too.”
You followed his gaze and saw there was only three minutes to midnight. “Shit,” you whispered as you grabbed the second to last sticker and pressed it to his chest. “Gotta run.”
Your calves burned as you climbed the stairs, spiralling higher and higher, racing the hands of the clock until you reached the top floor. The entire wall was made of glass and overlooked the dark water beyond the cliffs, but it wasn’t the panoramic vista that caught your eye.
His back was to you, the black silk tie of his mask flattening the back of his hair that would usually stick up in all directions, especially after combing your fingers through the strands. But it didn’t matter if you couldn’t see his face, you would recognise him anywhere.
His hands were crossed at the base of his spine, right one holding the left. It was how he stood whenever he was on the podium, how he stood when his anthem played. It was how he stood when he desperately wanted to be elsewhere but was forced to be patient.
You wrapped your arms around his narrow waist and found his eyes reflected in the glass. “Hi.”
The grandfather clocks throughout the mansion struck 12, the loud dongs echoing through the halls. “I wasn’t sure you were going to make it.”
You smiled into his shoulder at the teasing in his voice. “I always knew where you would be.” Stepping around his body, he pulled you into the circle of his arms so you were both watching the horizon as fireworks began to light up the sky above the sea. “There was only one place my Max could possibly be…at the top.”

Not the son you were looking for
The Fentons were sure that their son was dead. They didn't understand why Phantom pretended to be their little Danny, nor why he made so many illogical excuses like "being a hybrid" and so on. At first they played along, but they were angry, angry that the truth was being kept from them, angry because they were sure that the supposed hero had done something to their son, and he even managed to trick Jazz!
It all made sense when Phantom was declared Ghost King, of course, he surely had Danny captive! It shouldn't be hard for the King of the Dead to manipulate a soul, maybe he was gaining power from that. They were sure, they had seen the King argue with one of his ghost-capturing devices and keep it always guarded, a big secret surely.
Unfortunately for them, the GIW had disbanded, so they had to turn to their second choice: The Justice League. It was an organization of heroes that had only recently formed, but the Fenton's were sure they would help them, so they contacted them and explained the situation. The League was skeptical but when they heard that a child might be in danger they acted immediately.
They didn't confront the King directly, they weren't idiots, but they stole the thermos, willing to give the child trapped in it a break. They could deal with the Ghost King later.
Unfortunately for everyone, as soon as the Fentons hit the "release" button what came out was not their son's soul, no. Dan Phantom watched them with a wide grin, free for the first time in years. The League had a feeling they had made a grave mistake.

Pairing ღ Modern!Bucky Barnes x F!Reader Word Count ღ 5.8k Warnings ღ Swearing, pet names, heavily implied smut, tooth rotting fluff, the two of you are menaces to one another Author's Note ღ I PROMISED YOU GUYS FLUFF - HERE. IS. THE. FLUFF!
There were very few things that brought you as much joy as seeing Bucky smile, but this - this moment would forever be etched as one of your fondest memories, let alone his.
Tumblr media
It was a flawless plan. There was no way it would backfire or go wrong. No, it wouldn’t - you had gone over every single step of the plan in your mind and hidden your motivation from the man sleeping beside you quite successfully. It would work.
Slowly, you turned your head on your soft pillow to look at him sleepily.
God, he looked so peaceful. The plates on his arm were still while his chest rose and fell with every breath. He was fast asleep - his back and broad shoulders rested against the soft sheets, and the comforter was bunched across his hips.
While not a religious man, his hair fanned over his pillow like a halo and gave him the illusion of an angel - one that had been cast down from the heavens, just for you. The soft morning light was casted over his face, and it illuminated his cheekbones and soft laugh lines; a sign of just how truly happy he was.
Bucky looked serene. Peaceful, even. But he was absolutely fucking clueless.
Today was the day that you would take him shopping.
Bucky, for all his toughness, masculinity, and continuously evolving taste for the wonders of the modern world - notably his rapidly growing love for movie franchises like Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings, and heaven forbid music. The poor man almost had an aneurysm the first time you played Nicki Minaj as a joke. His reaction of jumping almost five feet in the air and wrestling with you on the couch to grab your phone and “Turn off that god-awful screeching!” still brought a fond smile to your face every time you thought of it.
But, with all the modern opportunities that he could seize - shopping was, and always will be, his least favourite thing to do. He hated it.
Well, some of it.
“Doll, please, I don’t need another sweater!” Bucky whined from his place on the bed. His head rested on the pillows and his limbs spread out like a starfish, an insolent pout on his lips that rivalled a toddler’s.
“Yes, you do. Besides,” you chuckled, walking to stand at the end of the bed between his feet. “I need another sweater.”
A beat of silence passed, then Bucky’s brows rose in realisation. “Wait,” he tilted his head up and found you standing at the end of the bed. He narrowed his eyes at the sly smile on your face. “Oh, no,” he said simply, shaking his head. “Okay, I know what you’re doing.”
“Do you?”
“Yeah, I do.” Bucky taunted, his head falling back to rest on the pillow once more. “You want me to get another sweater, so you have another thing to steal from me, ain’t that right?”
“Me? Steal?” You giggled, and Bucky huffed a laugh. “Alright, if you come with me, I’ll buy you a present.”
You had never seen Bucky jump up from bed as fast as he did, and the day ended with a very excited Bucky - his selection and haul from Victoria’s Secret second to none.
However, today was something different. There was a surprise you had in store for him, and you had worked your ass off the previous week to get the house ready for it. Bucky had grilled you behind the intention of flawlessly scrubbing the floors of your small home and tidying away anything small, but you only brushed him off.
Yesterday, Bucky had even gone to the extent of surprising you to spook some answers from your tightly sealed lips while you went through the linen cupboard, hunting for old towels and washcloths.
“What are you doin’, doll?” Bucky drawled, smirking at the way you jumped a foot in the air at his sudden appearance.
“Mind your beeswax,” you sneered half-heartedly, turning to look him in the eye. “You’re such a nosey old man.”
Bucky’s eyes had darkened at that remark, and you gulped. Slowly, like a wolf stalking its prey, he took one step closer towards you and tilted his head slightly. “Run,” he growled.
It was the only time Bucky had managed to derail you from your mission, and you had never run so fast in the other direction while cackling; towels strewn in your wake to slow down the wolf on his hunt.
Last night, Bucky tried again to get an answer.
The two of you were laid in bed watching the first Jurassic Park for what felt like the thousandth time, and all the hard work throughout the day of carrying out your secretive duties left your back and shoulders sore and stiff.
You shifted in his arms in an attempt to get comfortable, but a stab of pain made you wince, which, of course, Bucky had noticed. His hands automatically came to rest against your shoulders and worked over the knotted muscle until you sighed contentedly.
“You gonna tell me now, sweetheart?” Bucky cooed when his thumb hit a particularly sore spot between your shoulders.
“No,” you mumbled, your resolute answer not shocking him in the slightest. “But please don’t stop, baby.”
The chuckle that rumbled through Bucky’s chest made you nervous, and your resolve fractured the tiniest bit more when he stopped his ministrations and weaved his arms around your middle, pulling you tightly against his chest that still shook with the ghost of a laugh.
“I’ll find out one way or another, sweet thing,” Bucky mumbled, his lips brushing against your temple. “You’ll crack.”
It wasn’t a threat. It was a promise.
The thought alone made your blood run hot and a sly smirk teased at the corner of your lips. Today was finally the big day - a culmination of weeks of secret planning, hiding your scribbled notes of inspiration, and the almost dubious texts and phone calls to the one person who had helped bring this to fruition.
God, you could not wait to see his face.
The mattress shifted under your weight when you moved to straddle Bucky’s thighs, your own resting either side of his. “Good morning handsome,” you whispered, and Bucky’s lips twitched into a sleepy smile, his head turning to look at you through half-lidded eyes.
“Well good morning to you too, sweetheart,” you swore his husky morning voice would be the death of you, “how’d you sleep?”
You smiled and nodded happily. “Good,” you started, but Bucky interrupted you when his arms wrapped around your waist.
“C’mere,” he breathed, and you followed the pull of his arms easily, letting your heart flutter in your chest when you finally rested against his own, your forehead tucked against his neck.
“Are you ready for today?” You asked quietly, running your hand over his left bicep to feel the ridges of the vibranium. Bucky stiffened and you swore you could hear the gears turning over and over in his mind, frantically trying to recall just what on earth you had planned.
Bucky watched you as you moved your head so you could meet his gaze, and his eyes frantically searched your face for any kind of clue. He hesitated, his mouth opening slightly and closing twice, before he finally spoke. “What did you plan for today, again?”
The wicked grin on your face as you sat up to rest on your haunches only confused him, the crease between his eyebrows deepening. “Doll, what did you do?”
“Nothing, nothing,” you soothed, resting a hand on his chest to rub small circles with your thumb. The tone of your voice led him into a false sense of security where his face relaxed for a split second. “I’m just taking you shopp-”
Bucky groaned loudly, tugging you back down onto his chest and rolled the two of you so you were caged against the mattress. Your squeal of laughter went ignored as he trapped you in place and the weight of him crushed you into the mattress, effectively trapping you in place.
“Bucky!” You laughed and tried to wriggle free, but Bucky resolutely tucked his head into the crook of your neck so his warm breath would send goosebumps down your spine. Hiccups wracked your frame as you continued to laugh, and he held you tighter.
“I don’ wanna go,” his muffled voice could barely be heard, “can’t make me.”
“You’re coming with me, Buck,” you wheezed.
“No.” He argued, his tone this close to sounding like a tantrum.
“Yes.”
“Nuh-uh,” he whispered, shaking his head so his hair would tickle your collarbone. “Nope, not goin’.”
“Yes. Now get off me, you oaf, and get dressed.” You ordered and you wriggled in his grip. Your impatient tone was not helping an ounce, you realised, when he didn’t even move - as immovable as a statue and just as stubborn as a mule. “Buck, c’mon.”
“Make me,” Bucky mumbled into your shoulder, his grip not lessening. “What’s in it for me?”
“I’ll do that thi-”
It was comical how quickly he released you and rolled onto his side to face you, his face still sporting a pout of resignation while you laughed.
“Good morning, my love,” you whispered, leaning forward so your nose brushed his.
“Good morning, dragă mea,” Bucky tilted his head and met your lips in a soft kiss.
You were the first to pull away, and you ignored his quiet whine of protest. “C’mon, time to make breakfast.”
“Pancakes?”
“Pancakes,” you assured, smiling over your shoulder - the real mission at the forefront of your mind. Coffee.
“It’s always pancakes,” you mumbled as you dug through the cupboards. “Such a damn sugar addict.”
“You know,” you startled at the sound of Bucky’s voice by the bench, and you looked up from the draw where the bowls were kept. Goddamn him and how quiet he was. “You make the best pancakes, sweetheart,” he winked, and you rolled your eyes playfully.
Breakfast went by in a flurry of pancake batter and coffee, and before long, the two of you were in the entryway of your home, almost ready to leave. It was cold out, so you wore one of his jumpers and a pair of sweats, while he wore his favourite jeans and a hoodie.
“Have you got everything?” You questioned, pointing at the keys in his hand and then his phone in the back pocket of his jeans.
“The real question is,” Bucky started, a cheeky smile began to bloom on his lips and lit up his face. You narrowed your eyes, daring him to continue his statement. His smile grew to a full-on shit-eating grin. “Have you got everything?”
“Hey!” You chided, shoving at his shoulder to get to the door and he laughed. “It was one fucking time, Barnes! Leave me alone,” you grumbled, throwing open the door and storming over to his car.
It was a long, drawn-out joke, and he took so much pleasure in reminding you of all the times you demanded he turn the car around because you forgot your phone, your purse - even your chapstick one damn time. Of course, it was all in jest, but you revelled in the attention he’d soothe you with.
Bucky closed the front door and locked it behind him, the car keys bouncing against the plates of his palm as he laughed and gestured with his hands. “It was not just one time!”
You huffed and reached for the handle of the passenger door. “Just unlock the damn car, please.”
The chirp of the alarm sounded when the car unlocked and you slipped into the passenger seat, purposefully putting your purse and phone by the shifter. Bucky opened the driver’s door and threw his phone into your lap before sliding in. “We ready-”
“What?” You asked innocently, looking up from buckling your belt. Bucky was looking at your purse and phone, his expression one of playful annoyance. “What?” You repeated, a small smile creeping on your lips.
Bucky reached forward and grabbed both your purse and phone in one hand, placing it in your lap. His eyes met yours, and you grinned proudly. “Drama queen,” he stated simply, and you laughed.
The keys turned in the ignition and the engine rumbled to life, all while Bucky shook his head.
You held Bucky’s phone in your hand while you fumbled with the glovebox to find the cable to connect a phone to the car stereo, when it suddenly appeared in the corner of your vision. “Passenger is in charge of the tunes, babe,” Bucky said, wiggling his eyebrows when you took the cable. The car began to reverse when his phone lit up with the connection - the photo of the two of you staring back up at you made you smile softly.
You loved him so much.
“Damn right she is,” you mumbled, and Bucky laughed, shifting the car back into drive and the purr of the engine turned to a dull roar when Bucky accelerated.
For the whole drive, Bucky rested his hand on your thigh - only moving it to shift gears and to flip off what he called, in nicer terms, an idiot, when the shopping complex came into view.
“What are we doin’ here, again?” Bucky huffed as he drove up and down the rows of parks to find one that was close.
“I have a list and I’m not going to go crazy,” you said, fighting hard against the urge to smirk. Instead, under the guise of helping look for a park, you looked out the window to hide the glee you felt. “I promise.”
Bucky made a quiet sound of disbelief and continued to drive up and down the rows until finally, he found a park. As you bundled your purse and phone against your chest to get out, Bucky rested his hand against your forearm, making you pause.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” he laughed, and you just winked.
You’ll show him.
The first stop in the mall was Bed Bath & Beyond to get containers - nondescript, easily explained, and easy. A perfect cover.
Shelves full of crockery and cooking appliances lined the back wall of the homely shop while displays stood in neat rows, and you made a beeline straight to the Tupperware. Bucky followed close behind you, holding your hand with his free one, while the other held a large basket.
You hummed a tune as you navigated through the maze of displays and shelves, passing by a rack of pots and pans when Bucky came to a sudden halt, the sudden resistance almost making you stumble and trip. “Buck?”
The sight that you found made you breathless - Bucky was holding a novelty kid frying pan while balancing the basket on his arm, and he was turning it over and over in his hold to inspect it. The pan itself was no bigger than the distance between his wrist and first knuckle.
It was something you would never tire of - the look of curiosity and intrigue on his face. Every single time he had that expression of wonder and amazement made your heart flutter with happiness.
Bucky’s curious nature never truly left him.
“What the hell,” Bucky whispered, turning the pan over once more so the shiny blue enamel reflected the fluorescent lights overhead, “is this? Is it for kids?”
“Yeah, for those toy kitchens,” you explained, “but this one can actually go over an element.”
Suddenly, an idea struck you. It was the perfect size for the surprise, and now having seen Bucky so awestruck over such a tiny utensil; him using it for the surprise would surely melt your heart.
“Put it in the basket, babe,” you insisted, turning before you could see his shocked expression - you half expected him to begin to ask why, until you heard the soft clink of the pan falling to the bottom of the basket. Smiling to yourself, you dragged Bucky onward and towards your intended purchase.
After a brief argument on who would pay, the two of you finally left the store, Bucky carrying the large bag full of containers, and the smallest frying pan known to man.
“Doll,” Bucky whined, and you looked at him over your shoulder, brow raised in question. “I’m hungry.”
“Aw, poor baby. I’ll be quick and then I’ll get you some pizza,” Bucky’s eyes brightened and suddenly he had more pep to his step - which suddenly turned to a scowl and blush at your next whispered words. “Good boy.”
The next stop was HomeGoods. Bucky tried to pull you back from the pillow shelves, but you were determined. And there was nothing that would stand in the way of a woman on a mission - not even his pleading puppy eyes.
“No, doll, n- we do not need-” Bucky tried as he grabbed the pillow from under your arm as you moved down the aisle. The glare you sent him would have made any other man buckle under its intensity, but this wasn’t just any man; it was your boyfriend, and your boyfriend knew exactly just how much you love pillows. The perfect scapegoat. “You do not need any more pillows.”
“Yes, we do, Buck!” You hissed, yanking back the pillow from his grip far too easily. “Besides, if you keep this up, you’ll need them for the couch.”
Bucky let out a low whistle and held a hand over his heart. “You wound me, sweetheart,” his voice was pained, but you just poked your tongue out and continued to peruse the shelves. Subdued and silent, Bucky followed.
Once you were finished, the two of you walked hand in hand from the shop with large flat pillows under your arms and smaller round ones bunched into a bag that you held in your free hand. “We need a cart, hang on,” Bucky said, pulling you towards an abandoned cart by an empty chair. It was a relief to finally have your arms free and you walked beside Bucky, directing him towards the food court.
The food court was bathed in natural light from the large, glass dome. Bucky’s favourite vendor was set up in the middle of a mass of chairs and tables, and when he looked up from handing a customer a hot dog, he smiled knowingly.
Your plan was unfurling perfectly.
“Buck,” you started as you turned to lean into his side, and he looked down at you, his eyes bright in the natural light. “I want you to wait here for me when we get your food, okay? Can I please have the keys?”
Bucky narrowed his eyes. “But-”
“No buts, baby,” you interrupted, “just trust me. Promise?”
Bucky stared at you, searching again for any clue on what the hell you were up to, but you held your hand up with a pinky outstretched. It was a sure way to abate his suspicion, if only for a moment. He hesitated for only a second before his pinky met yours. “Thanks, handsome.”
When you reached the front of the line and Bucky reached for his wallet, the vendor met your gaze and winked. You mouthed thank you and turned to kiss Bucky on the cheek. He smiled and moved the cart so you could manoeuvre it towards the exit, pillows and bags almost bulging out from the sides. The car keys jingled in your hand when you took them from his outstretched hand, and then you were on your way.
“Behave, please!” Bucky called after you, and you only smirked before flipping him off.
It felt deceptive to have planned this down to the very letter behind his back, but it would be so worth it - and you knew he loved surprises, to a degree, anyway.
After you reached out to the vendor on social media and he recognised you, he had blessedly offered to help keep Bucky busy while you were in the final motions of your plan and while you exited the mall, you looked over your shoulder to see him offering Bucky several slices of New York-style pizza.
James ‘Bucky’ Barnes was not one to pass up pizza, so there he sat with a smile on his face and all the slices piled on a large plate, tapping on his phone when you felt yours vibrate in your purse.
My Soldier 🖤: where are you going 🤔
The quick reply of just enjoy your pizza, baby, seemed to placate him and you stepped out onto the pavement and headed towards his car.
First step: put all the bags and pillows in the trunk and grab the plain black bag to put all your new purchases in it.
There was no way in hell that you would get away with walking back to meet Bucky with a bag plastered with the logo of the store you intended to visit - he would immediately know something was up. At least, this way, you could delay the inevitable and distract him by kissing his lips, nose, or cheeks. Anywhere socially acceptable, really.
Bucky could never focus with your lips on him.
The chirp of the alarm rang out and you placed the bags into the trunk to grab the bag tucked under the organiser. “Let’s hope this works.”
Your phone vibrated again, and you almost flipped it onto mute when until you saw who had texted you - it was your best friend.
My Bitch: she’s settling in so well! look at her!
A photo was attached, and you couldn’t help the gasp that left you. She was perfect.
You: thanks babe! he still has no clue, well I hope so anyway. headed to the shop now, see you soon!
With something akin to childish glee, you headed straight for the store that would hold all of what you would need. The blue cat and red dog looked down upon you as you entered and you grinned - soon, it was almost time.
The feline section was to the side of the store, and you made a beeline towards it, entirely unprepared for how overwhelming it was - collars and harnesses lined one half of the shelf, while the other half displayed sweaters and bells. On the opposite side, there were bowls of all sizes and beds big enough for even you to curl up on. “Damn, cats really are royalty,” you muttered, chuckling to yourself when you felt the soft plushness of the beds between your fingers.
“Hello, there!” A happy voice chirped from behind you, and you jumped. It was a store clerk, and he had the widest smile and the kindest vibe. The name tag on his chest read Connor. “Do you need any help?”
“I just picked out a kitten for my boyfriend and she’s only small,” you started as you gestured towards the collars and vests. “She’s 12 weeks old, but I don’t know what to get her.” It was true - you had spent days, weeks, researching how to care for a kitten and you had that down pat, but when it came to picking accessories out for her, all bets were off.
Connor chuckled and moved past you to grab one of the smallest collars and vests. They were light blue, an icy hue you knew all too well.
Exactly like Bucky’s.
“How about this one, there’s other colours too if you would li-”
“No, no, that one is perfect, thank you,” you rushed, smiling as Connor passed them over and you placed them into the bag. Connor then moved towards the beds, but you stopped him. “I’m actually here with him, and it’s meant to be a surprise,” you emphasised, and he grinned.
“Understood. How about bowls and food?”
“Food is taken care of, I just need bowls,” you assured, and Connor pulled down a set of bowls the exact same colour as the collar and vest.
“How about these?”
You smiled widely and eagerly took them from Connor’s hand when he offered them. “Perfect.”
Connor had waved you out the door, his grin almost matching yours. You could not wait to get home.
The walk back to the food court was quick, and you kept the bag carefully closed as you approached Bucky from behind. He was still seated in the food court and his plate was empty.
“Babe,” Bucky smiled, his expression turning from happy to suspicious in the blink of an eye. “What have you been up to?”
“Nothing,” you said sweetly, and he turned to look at you, his brows pinched in the way you knew meant he was watching and waiting for any sign of weakness. His eyes quickly glanced down to the closed bag on your arm. “Take me home?”
“No,” Bucky countered, his tone clipped in the way you knew you were in for it tonight. He looked up from the bag and stared into your face once again. “Tell me what you’ve been doin’.”
The coy smirk you gave him only made his scowl deepen, and you shuffled so you stood at his side. Leaning in close, you placed a hand high up on his thigh for balance, and your lips brushed his ear. “Make me.”
And you ran.
People watched you as you ran past them, cackling heartily and barely able to run straight while you repeatedly glanced over your shoulder to see Bucky stalking after you. He looked every bit the predator that he was - the lion had found the lamb.
Oh, you were screwed.
“Call my boyfriend!” You yelled through your laughter. Bucky’s loud boots hit the tiled floor of the mall with loud thumps as he sped up his pace. Bursting through the doors, you ran out to the pavement where the people on the sidewalk stared at you in pure bewilderment.
Bucky was almost on your heels, so you ran faster, the bag on your arm swinging with every stride.
No matter how hard you tried, you could not stop laughing.
“I am your boyfriend!” Bucky barked after you, his stride now lengthening to catch up as you ran onto the road, where, thankfully, no cars were driving back and forth. You knew he could catch you without breaking a sweat thanks to that damn serum, but he loved the chase just as much as the victory. “Babe, slow down!”
“No, you’re not!” You shouted over your shoulder. The car was within reach, you were almost there - almost safe.
But, laughing had winded you, and you slowed a fraction. That proved to be deadly.
Bucky’s chest collided with your back and you let out a cry of protest when he lifted you over his shoulder. The new view of his ass in those jeans made it all worth it. You wiggled the arm not holding the bag free and reached down to grab his left ass cheek and he jumped.
“Mine!” You yelled in victory.
“You are impossible,” Bucky grunted as he placed you on your feet by the passenger door of his car. “Absolutely impossible.”
“You love it.”
The pair of you slid into the car and Bucky started the journey home, occasionally sparing a glance at the bag by your feet in the footwell. “What’s in there?”
“Don’t you worry your pretty head over it, babe.”
“Pretty?” Bucky trailed off, feigning shock. You laughed and turned to face him as much as the seatbelt allowed.
“Very,” you reached over to poke his cheek, “pretty.”
The drive home was short and when you saw your best friend’s car parked in the driveway behind yours you could not help the grin that burst free. It’s time.
“What’s she doin’?” Bucky sounded somewhat disappointed that you two wouldn’t be alone. “I thought she’d be at work.”
“Oh!” You feigned innocence, or ignorance - whichever would work. “I asked her to stop by and drop something off, she might have just finished her shift.”
She had not just finished work - she had spent the entire time that you kept Bucky busy at the mall unloading her car of the kitten food, cat tree, and bed you had brought the previous week and set it all up inside.
“You owe me several shouts, babe,” she said breathlessly when you walked into her apartment laden with bags of food, kicking the box that held the cat tree along.
“I know, I know, I will pay you back. I promise.”
Bucky looked slightly crestfallen when he parked the car in the driveway and killed the engine. “Don’t worry, baby, I’m sure she won’t stay long,” you whispered as you grabbed his hand.
A little white lie never hurt anybody.
“You head on in and say hi,” Bucky said as he stood from the driver’s seat, stretching with a loud groan. “I’ll be right there.” The loud pop of the boot latch was your cue, and you didn’t linger, only just stopping yourself from jogging to the door - you had to play it cool.
The door unlocked with a quiet click, and you called out into your home as the door opened. “Hello!”
Your best friend, the angel that helped you pull this whole thing off, came around the corner with a small bundle of white fur in her arms. “He’s coming, hide, quick!” You hissed, gesturing down the hallway hurriedly, Bucky was almost done grabbing your haul from the trunk. “Bathroom, go, go, go!”
Thankfully, your best friend had hidden all evidence that she was even here with a kitten well - the tree was in the laundry as you had planned, all of the kitten’s toys were hidden in a container on the bookshelf, with all that was left of what she needed was the bag on your arm.
The kitten’s bed was in plain sight on the lounge room floor, right where Bucky could, and would, see it. Just as you had planned. Quickly, you stepped into the kitchen and placed the bag on the kitchen counter and angled it so he wouldn’t see its contents.
Just as you took a deep breath to calm your excitement, Bucky’s footsteps came up the entryway. “Where do you want this stuff, doll?”
“The lounge would be good,” you said over your shoulder, and you could hear his footsteps falter. He had seen the bed. “You all right, Buck?”
“I-I’m fine,” Bucky walked back into the kitchen to find you staring at him, the glint of mischief no doubt evident and it pulled him up short. “Why is there a bed on the floor? What’s going on?”
The look of confusion on his face was too cute - it was like when he first discovered a remote, a tiny rectangle of plastic, controlled the TV, but you couldn’t handle holding it in any longer.
“Not sure, babe, she’s probably in the bathroom,” he stared back at you with narrowed eyes, and you just smiled innocently, acting none-the-wiser. “Go sit in the lounge, I’ll make us coffee.”
Bucky went with no argument, and you turned to the machine and switched it on, grabbing 3 cups down from the cupboard. “Extra sugar, please,” he called, and you nodded, even though he wouldn’t see.
The sound of the TV switching on and playing some daytime show gave you a good cover to sneak down the hallway towards the bathroom. “It’s me,” you whispered when you turned the handle. A quiet gasp left your lips before you could stop it upon seeing the kitten in her arms. “Oh, she is gorgeous!”
Her fur was like the softest sherpa, and her eyes were a piercing blue. She was perfect for him.
“C’mon,” you gestured out the door. “He’s got the TV going, and he’s likely fiddling with the pillows I brought for this little angel.”
Your best friend laughed and stepped over the threshold, following close behind you as you walked back down the hallway. It was a valiant effort to keep your giggles in at the scene that will unfold in only a moment's time.
“I found her, babe!” You called as you paused the corner, almost doubled over in a silent fit of laughter.
“Hey!” Bucky said back, and you chanced a peek to find him in fact fiddling with the tassels of one of the pillows you had brought today, he was entirely distracted. You gestured to your best friend to stay put and you rounded the corner without her.
Bucky glanced up as you came into view, and he looked confused. “Where is- why are you lookin’ at me like that?”
“I have a surprise.”
“She’s not exactly a surprise, babe,” Bucky started, the confusion on his face only deepening to absolute bewilderment. “What’s goin’ on? Am I finally gonna find out what you’ve been plannin’?”
You nodded and his face brightened. Unable to resist it any longer, you beamed excitedly and sat down beside him.
“He’s ready!” You called and you heard a giggle from the hallway.
“Ready for what?” Bucky looked at you almost panic-stricken. “What are you…”
His voice died in his throat as he looked over to where your best friend stood. The kitten was looking up and over her arm and straight at Bucky, her wide blue eyes boring into his own.
“Surprise, baby,” you whispered, resting one hand on his shoulder and the other on his forearm.
Bucky looked back at you and his eyes were wide with shock, amazement, or excitement. You couldn’t tell. “You got me a cat?”
“I did,” you smiled, moving to cup his face in your hands. “I know how much you loved volunteering at that shelter, and I knew it hurt you to leave them all behind. Now you have your own fluffy baby.”
It wasn’t very often you would see Bucky cry - he was one to suffer in silence, never truly allowing himself the opportunity to let down his guard just enough. But here he was, looking up to that fluffy little creature as though it hung the moon in the sky, while tears of joy tracked freely down his cheeks.
Your best friend knelt down and placed the kitten in his arms when it started mewling and shuffling on small stout legs to climb up Bucky’s hoody-clad arm, and she came to rest in the crook of his neck - purring loudly enough it could rattle glass.
“What are you gonna call her, Buck?” You asked, absolutely enamoured with the sight.
Bucky sniffled and carefully grabbed the kitten in his hands, bringing her around so he could look into her adorable face. You couldn’t help the tears that fell down your cheeks when the kitten reached out one paw, resting it on Bucky’s nose.
“Oh, my goodness,” your best friend breathed, stepping to the side so she could sit on the chair beside you, her hand resting on your shoulder.
A beat of silence passed, the loud purr of the kitten the only thing you could hear.
“Alpine.” Bucky said suddenly, his smile brighter than the stars that glowed at night. He turned to look at you, his eyes still watering from happiness. “I’m gonna call her Alpine.”

people only ever bring up destiel with this meme? I'm not even sure which one he is but since the ship name is superwholock I assume that one of them has to be the aforementioned wholock. who's who
hi nonny :),
not gonna lie you probably gonna make a lot of people feel very very old :). destiel is the ship name of those to unfortunate guys doomed to deliver the news every day. superwholock is the name for a crossover of three very popular shows (at least around 2012) called supernatural (from which destiel is), dr who and sherlock. the fandom was REALLY big on tumblr ten years ago so i guess you not knowing means nature is healing (but also one should not their history or smth). especially supernatural with destiel and sherlock with johnlock is sometimes referred to as 'the great queerbait of our time'. also sorry for everyone im inflicting psychic damage on my explaining all this.

Every time you managed to get close he’d simply set you down on the nearest surface with a kiss on the cheek and go back to doing whatever he was working on.
You haven’t had sex.
Not since everything happened.
You’ve tried, a few times but it never seemed right, you always asked if you could stop, opting to just lay together instead. You were making yourself sick with worry that he was unsatisfied so you took a day off from the meetings and the royal duties to just stay in the cabin and watch him work.
You just want to do something nice for him.
He does everything.
He cooks your meals, he rubs your feet, he spends his entire day working, he’s nearly tripling the cabin in size, and he does it all on one leg.
Well, not technically on one leg, he has the prosthetic but still. He hobbles with no complaints around the house and all you do is sit all day in the castle, talking.
So you try. All day.
Until the two of you are getting ready for bed.
“Come on. Seriously, I'm fine.” You put your hands on his shoulders as he got into bed beside you.
“Stop trying to seduce me.” He kisses your temple, rolling you onto your side as he fills in the space behind you. “You don’t need to force it.” He lifts his bottom half onto the bed, carefully removing the steel leg, setting it onto the floor next to him. One of the only pieces of his Mandalorian days he chose to keep. He had all of his armor melted down, save for his helmet, some of it was forged into a new leg, but the majority was given to the foundlings.
“I’m serious! I’m in the mood.” You aren’t and he knows it, so any efforts to roll over and face him are stopped as he wraps his arms around you, one hand resting protectively over your stomach.
“You’re not.”
“I’m desperate for it.” You whine loudly but he only laughs, his nose bumping against the back of your neck.
“Go to sleep.” You can hear the grin in his voice.
You wait a moment in the silence.
“Are you sure?” You start trying to turn again.
“I swear to the Maker-”
“Okay! Sorry!”
Maybe it was hormones, or maybe it was just everything that had happened. But during your first trimester no matter how hard you tried you just couldn’t seem to find the energy to be physical with him. It was as if your libido vanished entirely. You tried several times but he always just kissed your forehead and told you to relax.
“You’ve given me everything I have ever wanted, I need nothing else from you.” He laughs against your spine as he kisses you there.
“You’re sure?”
“What do I have to do to prove to you that I’m fine?”
“Let me take care of you…” You whine, trying to push back against him as he holds you in place.
“Stop worrying about me.” He continues to chuckle, hot against your skin as he kisses your cheek before pulling the quilt up over you both, it only takes a few minutes for him to start snoring behind you.
You want to completely disassemble the monarchy.
Din wants you to be as relaxed as possible during your pregnancy.
Neither one of you has been getting what you want. Turns out being queen doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want, there are limits, limits that have you arguing with your dearly departed husband's family most days.
You spend the better part of the next month in and out of the throne room, looking down at the table Kodo’s family set up below the throne. You argue over everything, you want to destroy everything that they stand for and obviously they don’t agree.
So you have to compromise.
At the end of the day it ends up being better than nothing.
The royal family no longer has any political power over Naboo citizens, but they get to keep their titles, including your own. They’re ceremonial now.
The royal family can no longer collect taxes from the people but they get to keep all their funds currently in the vaults.
The people get to vote in new leaders but the royal family gets to have automatic representation on the council.
It’s a give and take but when you finally get a chance to walk through the city with Din the people look happy and you can’t help but feel a rush of pride at the little changes. The little smiles you see every now and then, the way people stop to talk to each other, the way people look at you.
It’s different.
It’s happier, it feels safer.
It makes spending your first trimester with the Harand’s completely worth it.
And it’s a good thing you came to an agreement and got everything sorted out when you did because you don’t want to get out of bed most days during your second trimester.
You feel great, no more nausea and your energies even up.
You’re just so kriffing horny.
Morning, noon, and night.
Din’s finished the added rooms in the cabin so you’re both tasked with getting everything in order in your own room and in the nursery but you don’t let him get much done.
If you had any worries about leaving him unsatisfied those first few months they’re gone after the first week of your second trimester, you’re more than making up for it. You’re actually worried about him keeping up with you.
Of course having a bed you love helps. It was the first thing Din made when he started working on the cabin. A bed that wasn’t too big but fit you both perfectly, and you make sure to put it to good use.
It came on suddenly in the last week of your first trimester.
You had woken up early one morning craving something you hadn’t wanted in quite some time. So you rolled over, tracing a finger along his bare chest until his eyes fluttered open, his breath hitching as he gave you a sleepy smile.
“Morning.” His voice in the mornings always reminded you of how he used to sound through the modulator, low and raspy.
“Good morning.” You whispered back, letting your hand drag down his stomach until he stopped you, kissing your forehead, you shuffled towards him, feeling his cock hardening against your hip. You furrow your brow in confusion as he starts getting up. “Is something wrong?”
“You don’t need to force it for my sake.” You know he isn’t upset, he’s never voiced concerns about your sex life but he’s convinced himself that you just don’t have a sex drive right now. When in reality you’ve woken up almost painfully needy.
“Din-“ You start, reaching towards him.
“Sarad.” He took your hand in his as he situated his leg.
“Do you still want me?” You won’t be upset if he says no, after all you haven’t wanted him very much recently.
“Always. But I’m not gonna let you pretend for my sake. Your hormones are different now, maybe after the baby is born you’ll feel a little different, if not, I’ll still be sleeping here next to you every single night. Nothing’s gonna change that.”
“But-“
“I’m gonna take a shower.” He kissed your hand and left the room, leaving you hot between your thighs and suddenly worried that he’d never believe you were ready.
You had brushed him off and been clearly uncomfortable often enough now that he had resigned himself to making no more attempts.
He took a lot of showers.
And you could pretend you didn’t hear him groaning your name through the door but it still sent a pang of guilt through you that no amount of reassurance could change.
You hear the water turn on as you lay back in bed with a frustrated sigh.
You have the galaxy's most devoted husband, you could tell him you never wanted to touch him again and he’d never ask why. He’d simply love you from a little further away, and you love him with all of your heart for that but in that moment you just wanted to be fucked.
So you rolled over and stuck your hand in your nightstand drawer, searching for the cold metal of the vibrator you’d bought ages ago. When you finally found it you experimentally tested the buttons, grinning when you realized it still worked. You set up some pillows against the headboard to lean against them, bending your legs at the knee as you reach under your nightgown, finding your thighs sticky, your panties doing nothing to contain the arousal coursing through you.
For a second you’re worried you’ve forgotten how to do it but the moment you switch on the toy it’s like riding a bike. The motions, the patterns, all of it comes rushing back and in just a few shakey breathes you're already on edge.
You can hear him over the buzzing, you hear a few thuds, closing your eyes you imagine him on the other side of the wall.
Without his helmet.
You haven’t been able to think about him like that since he abandoned his creed, now it’s all you can think about.
His hand up against the tile, steadying him. The other wrapped around that pretty cock of his. You turn up the vibrator as you picture the water cascading down his skin, making his curls straighten out as he pulls back his foreskin, his pretty pink tip’s probably leaking down his shaft.
“Din-” You whisper to yourself, focusing on the grunt you can hear faintly followed by the strained sound of your name. Your stomach tightens. His eyes are probably squeezed tightly shut, creasing in the corners as he sucks his bottom lip between his teeth. “Din, please.”
“Kriff.” He hisses out loud enough for you to hear clear as day.
You hear him stifle a moan, is he biting his own hand? You decide it’s for the best that you do that now as well, covering your mouth with your palm. You chase the tightening in your stomach, dipping the toy into the wetness pooling at your entrance and back up to your clit. You’re so focused on getting off that it barely even registers when the water turns off in the other room.
“Fuck-” You whine softly, turning it up one more setting.
You open your eyes when the door creaks open, Din stepping back into the bedroom with a towel held loosely around his waist. You squeeze your thighs together, your eyes watering as a gasp is forced out of your stomach, your body convulsing briefly.
Maker, you’re more pent up than you thought.
You wet your lips with your tongue as his grip on the towel tightens, his eyes go wider than you’ve ever seen them and he coughs.
“M’gonna go make breakfast.” He manages to mumble out as the tips of his ears burn up, he gets dressed rather hastily before rushing out of the room.
When you go to the dresser to find something to wear you pick something that rides up on your stomach. You don’t really have a bump yet, Din insists that he can tell, often kissing you just above your belly button when he does but you don’t really notice a difference.
You meander out into the kitchen, already having to yank down the front of your top.
Maker, maybe you are showing.
You innocently look through the conservator as he sets the table, frowning as he pouts himself a mug of caf. You’ve been wanting some for weeks but he won’t let you have so much as a sip.
“I think I’m gonna make some cinnamon rolls tonight.” You sit down at the table as he sets a plate of buttered bread with meat and eggs.
“That sounds lovely.” He kisses the top of your head, bringing you a glass of juice and a few vitamins before sitting beside you. “Do you need me to go into the city and get anything for you?”
“No, I think I’ve got everything I need. What are you doing today?”
“House work. I need to fix a few things and install the heaters, it’s gonna be cold when the baby gets here.” You’re rather excited for winter, you haven’t seen snow since you left Hoth. It’s already started to chill outside. Naboo has long autumns and you aren’t due until the winter.
“Do you need any help with that?” You ask as you take a bite of the rich dense bread, already knowing the answer.
“No, you just relax today.”  Ever since you finished all your royal business Din hasn’t let you do any work around the house.
“I got that package from Elaine a few days ago, I could finally unpack everything.” You nod towards the crate in the living room and he’s already shaking his head.
“I can do that when I finish up the heat-“
“I can’t just sit around all day everyday.” You point your fork at him as he gives you an apologetic look.
“You could if you wanted to.” He says hopefully before you flick a piece of sausage at him. He easily catches it out of the air, popping it into his mouth.
“Oh and we should have sex tonight.” You try to say it as casually as possible but he immediately chokes on his food, coughing briefly before clearing his throat and taking a sip from his mug.
“Mesh’la, how many times do I have to tell you not to worry about that.”
“It’s not for your sake, it’s for mine.” You’re not even halfway done with your breakfast as he takes his last bite. Quickly standing and rushing his dishes to the sink.
“We’ll talk about it later, I gotta get started on some stuff.” He’s walking around you carefully, avoiding your angry glare as he makes a hasty escape towards the third bedroom.
“If you don’t listen to me I’m not letting you pick the middle name!” You yell after him but all you get in return is a muffled chuckle.
You finish your breakfast, taking your time as you chew, feeling rather frustrated despite the orgasm you already gave yourself less than an hour ago.
The third room is currently your makeshift laundry room, you keep anything that doesn’t have a proper place in there. Currently Din is fixing the window in there so you take it upon yourself to do a load of laundry. You empty the washer, filling it again as you turn on both machines.
“Mind if I watch you for a bit?” You smile at him as he nods, wiping a bead of sweat from his hairline. You take the opportunity to hop up on the dryer when he turns back to his work.
You close your eyes, letting your head roll to the side a bit as you lean forward. You smile to yourself, a wave of deja vu washes over you as you think of everytime you’ve teased him prior. You get lost in the memory of the two of you in the library, you briefly forget your goal entirely as you rock yourself back and forth, humming softly to yourself.
Your thoughts eventually drift to how he had touched you that night and when you finally come to your senses your face is hot as your fingers grip your thighs. When you look at din he’s staring at you slack jawed.
He clears his throat, his face going red as he quickly goes back to work, finishing up quickly before getting ready to leave.
“Help me down?” You hold your arms out to him and you swear he gulps as he steps over the laundry basket to grab you under your arms, setting you down.
“All good?” His voice is strained as he watches you nod.
“Perfect.”
Except it isn’t perfect.
The bastard remained unconvinced.
And you remain frustrated out of your mind.
He takes a break after installing the heating system, when he sits on the sofa, sipping a glass of water you take it upon yourself to finally go through the baby clothes Elaine sent you. The large crate is marked with a calligraphed L&E. You carefully break open the top, opening the envelope placed on top of the many fabrics. You can’t help but smile when you see who it’s addressed to.
Princess,
Is it still princess? ‘Queen’ seems like a bit much, although you should have seen the High Magistrates' face when we told him the Mandalorian married royalty.
He wants to visit when the little one is born but unfortunately we won’t be joining him. Elaine’s a bit sensitive to the cold but we’ll see you when it warms up. She’s terribly excited to be a godmother, even if she doesn’t show it. When Din told her the sex she started sewing immediately. Took two weeks for her to make all this, you can expect more soon. She can’t seem to help herself, our house is full of tiny socks and hats.
The shop’s doing well. Karga alone buys enough clothes to keep us in business but things are good. I still don’t know how Elaine sews as much as she does or as well as she does but she hasn’t slowed down since we moved.
She misses you, even if she acts all tough about it. I miss you too, we’ll visit as soon as it’s spring.
Send pictures of the nursery when it’s finished.
Love, Lysa
You look down at the contents and are taken aback at the sheer amount of baby clothes you’re faced with. You grab the first thing that catches your eye, little green overalls.
“Oh my gods.” You hold them up for him to see. Din’s gaze goes soft as he stares at the fabric. He slides off the sofa to sit on the floor beside you, taking them as you begin looking through the rest of the clothes.
“Are you sure he’s gonna fit in these? They look small.” He holds the overalls in front of his face as you fish out a handful of striped socks.
“That’s how big newborns are, my love. He’s gonna be small.” You unfold a large patchwork quilt, marveling at the craftsman ship as Din gives you a skeptical look.
“These are just so… tiny.” You laugh a bit at the sudden anxiety in his voice.
“I thought Grogu was a baby? You should know how small babies are, how old was he when you found him?”
“Fifty.” You shove his arm.
“Funny.” You stop laughing the second you find a little gray hat with black yarn patterns. “Maker, you’re gonna die when you see this.” You flip it around in your hands, showing him the mock design of his helmet, the thin cross of his visor.
“No kriffing way.” He takes it from you as you fight off a grin.
When you’ve finished going through everything Din packs it all back up, taking it to the nursery as you bake, simultaneously trying to think of different ways to seduce your riduur.
You shoo him away when he tries to help, eventually he settles on sitting on the couch. Reading from where he can see you.
You’re strongly considering just getting “stuck” in the washer and calling him to help you, you’re pretty sure you saw that in a holo at one point.
By the time you finish baking you still have nothing, taking them out of the oven and icing them before placing one on a plate and making your way over to him. You pull yourself up into his lap, gently taking his book and setting it down beside you.
“Mesh’la.” He says in a stern tone, his voice wavers a bit as he struggles to keep his composure.
“I thought you like my baking?” You pout and somehow he falls for it.
Pregnancy has made him even more infatuated with you, if that’s even possible. He’s somehow more gentle with you than ever before.
“Of course I do.” He mumbles sweetly, leaning forward to kiss your cheek. You tear off a chunk of the pastry, something you’ve done before, and bring it to his lips.
“Open.” You say sternly and he immediately does, letting you feed him. If it’s possible for a man to be both extremely relaxed and extremely stressed out then that’s what Din currently is.
You stay in his lap.
Feeding him until the plate is empty, he even licks your fingers clean and you’re so mesmerized by the plush softness of his mouth that you can’t help yourself.
You fall forward into him, and he flinches.
He never flinches.
You immediately back up, crawling off his lap as you give him a look of concern, trying to figure out if you’ve hurt him.
“I’m- I’m sorry.” He swallows, avoiding eye contact.
“Don’t be sorry.” You whisper it, leaning forward, resting your head on his shoulder, he takes your hand in yours.
“I just- I don’t want you to feel like you have to do this for me.”
“Why are you so insistent that I don’t want you?” You finally just tear the band aid off.
Silence.
Briefly, you know he’s deciding if he should say it or not.
“You stopped wanting to have sex when I took the helmet off.” He blurts out and you nearly fall off the couch at the absurdity of his reasoning.
“Din that has noth-“
“And it’s fine. There’s no reason for you to pretend to be attracted to me just for the sake of my ego. You can love me without loving,” He gestures at himself. “this.”
It makes you want to cry.
To think that he thought you were withholding your affections because you didn’t like how he looked. It makes you even more upset to know that he was okay with that, he was willing to live a life believing that to be true and simply never touch you like that again.
“Look, I still have the helmet, we’re going to make this work.” He whispers. His leg bounces up and down until he suddenly stands. “Give me a minute?” He’s already headed for the door. You sit there, a little stunned.
You decide to give him space, you can talk when he comes to bed. You dress in a thin brown camisole and green panties, you try to make yourself look nice, hoping maybe he’ll relax at the sight of it but based on the look he gives you when he comes into the bedroom you’re a little worried it’s having the opposite effect.
“I love you and-” You start but he just collapses into bed next to you.
“Please- mesh’la I can’t, this torment is unbearable.” His hands clutch the fabric of your clothes, his fingers trembling. “You’re making this extremely difficult for me.” He’s downright flushed as he pleads with you.
“I won’t stop until you believe me.” You insist further as he sinks his eyes into you, his pupils swollen and frantically searching your face as he swallows loudly. “You couldn’t be more beautiful to me. It had nothing to do with you, I just- I needed a little time after everything.” You whisper sharply, maintaining eye contact with him the entire time. “I’ve been waiting to wake up. I keep thinking you’re gonna disappear and I’m going to lose you all over again and none of that is your fault.” The room is quiet aside from your combined breathing.
“Are you sure? Really sure?” He’s speaking so quietly you barely hear him as his fingertips ghost the exposed skin under the bunched up fabric of your top.
“Look, I’m not going to force you to touch me, but I don’t know how else to get my point across and if you really want me to stop all of this then I will-“
“Don’t stop.” He whispers, barely audibly as his hands hold your face, lips pressed to yours. Your head falls back into the pillows as his mouth immediately makes a beeline south, kissing your sternum, you tangle your fingers in his hair, pulling him back up. “Please- I wanna taste-” He downright whines as you pull his bottom lip between your teeth.
“After.” You pant into his mouth. “I can’t wait, I need you.”
You do, terribly.
You guide his hand between your legs and his fingers push your panties to the side in an instant, his mouth falls open in a silent moan as he feels the wetness there. He eases a finger into you as you whine impatiently. “I don’t wanna wait-” You reach down to grab at his wrist but he just kisses you again to silence you.
“I don’t wanna hurt you.” He mumbles, he listens to an extent, pushing in a second finger. The stretch is delicious. You feel like your skin is on fire as you try to push yourself further onto his hand.
“I don’t care, please Din I need you so bad. I need your cock.” Your brain is foggy, you're so turned on right now, you’d do anything to feel him inside you.
He nods, shoving his trousers down and pulling his shirt up over his head as you squirm out of your own clothing. Almost immediately he looks overwhelmed, his eyes don’t know where to settle as they make their way down your body. Finally he swallows, taking his cock in hand, tip pink and pretty as he strokes himself so you can see how he’s already leaking, just for you.
He eases himself into you, slow and steady as you try to stay still. It’s all too much, his thick length pressing deeper and deeper into you until you’re both gasping, forehead to forehead with him fully seated within your heat.
“Okay?” He manages to spit the words out despite the way his chest heaves as you nod.
“Din fuck me please I can take it.” You plead with him, he looks skeptical so you rock your own hips, it isn’t much but it’s enough to make your eyes roll back as you nudge him deeper.
“Look at me.” He whispers as you blink, trying to focus on the warmth in his eyes as he searches your expression for pain.
“You’re so pretty.” You mumble out. He looks a little surprised by the sentiment, his tongue poking out between his lips as he looks at you.
Has anyone ever told him that?
“Thank you.” Is the last thing he says before slamming his hips forwards, the head of his cock bumping against your cervix. His thrusts are erratic and needy as he watches your face intently. He’s so worked up and it’s been so long and the combination of it all has him practically whimpering against you within minutes.
“I can’t- I- It-” He begins to stammer, his lips are wet and swollen, his eyes fight to stay open, pupils darting everywhere like he’s trying to take in as much as he possibly can as his cock pulses inside you.
You want him to come. You want to watch him, watch his face, as he finishes. You want to see him hot and desperate just for you, you want to know that you made him feel this good after just a few minutes.
“I wanna see, please, please Din.” You lay back, gasping with every stutter of his hips, taking in the sight as he squeezes his eyes shut.
“I- I- kriff, love you so much.” He hisses out as his hands fist the sheets. The veins in his neck stick out as his mouth falls open, an obscene moan is ripped from him as he rocks his hips forward one last time, you can see where the two of you are connected. His cum spilling out around his length, forced out by the sheer girth of him. His breathing is staggered as he slumps forward, kissing you with a fire that you didn’t realize you missed so much.
He doesn’t kiss you nearly as much as you want before his mouth is already moving down your body, any complaints you have never make it past your lips. It feels too good when he touches you like this.
He squishes the bridge of his nose into your stomach, just below your belly button as he kisses the soft skin there. His mouth hasn’t even made its way between your legs yet and he’s moaning into your flesh, his fingers kneading the meat of your hips.
He pushes your thighs wider apart and you swear you see him drool at the view he’s presented with.
He looks up at you, his eyes wide and needy, waiting for permission. You nod a little too quickly and he dives into you. His tongue immediately works its way into your still dripping hole, he’s everywhere, precise and deliberate as he pushes his own seed back into you.
“So- fucking- good-” He mumbles to himself as if you aren’t even there before flattening his tongue against your clit, it’s enough to have your thighs closing around his head, the cool metal of his hearing aids stings your flesh as you come undone. Your vision goes white as you whine, high pitched and breathy.
He doesn’t stop for a second, eating like you’re a goddamn buffet. When you catch a glimpse of his face his jaw is slick with a combination of the two of you. His eyes are dark as your head falls back, you want so desperately to watch but it’s too much, all you can do is whimper and grip his hair.
He wraps his lips around your clit, sucking and swirling his tongue around the bundle of nerves until you’re coming all over again. You collapse back into the pillows, already exhausted but smiling so hard your face hurts. He sits back on his ankles, lifting your legs as he kisses your calves.
He’s perfect like this.
Tan, scarred body on display to you in the warm lamp light. Skin covered in a thin layer of sweat that makes his hair curl and stick to his forehead. His eyes are dark as his tongue pokes out, swiping across his lips to taste the remnants of you, his cock stands proud against his stomach, already hard and aching for you once more.
“Don’t relax just yet, I’m not done with you.” He mumbles into your tender flesh, hands grabbing your ankles as he yanks you forward, slotting himself between your legs again.
It’s a good thing because you certainly aren’t done with him, you can’t get enough of him for the next six months.
Further into your second trimester nothing’s changed. If anything you’re even more insatiable. If it was possible to get pregnant twice you’d have done it by now.
You also make a point to kiss his face as much as humanly possible, you can’t help but wonder if anyone else ever has.
He likes it in a way you aren’t yet familiar with, he leans into your lips at every opportunity, eager to feel your mouth against the apples of his cheeks, the sensitive skin of his eyelids, the sharp angle of his nose, and the prickles of the stubble on his chin.
And you are more than happy to indulge him.
The third trimester wasn’t much better but you managed to better manage your time. You went on walks, even if they were short, you’d insist on walking around the gardens or the markets whenever you could.
You didn’t think it was possible but somehow Din’s become even more protective. If he had things his way you’d sit in the cabin all day while he stared at you from a few inches to your left.
With that sharp protectiveness has come a silence, it takes a few days for you to notice but you realize just how quiet he’s been. It’s subtle but you know something's off. Word’s become soft arm touches, he holds you a little tighter at night and he never asks if you need help anymore, he just does everything before you can even get to it.
It’s seemingly a couple of things.
You know something is bothering him but he’s become sort of shy.
When you walk the markets he’s still viewed as a member of your staff but you don’t hide things anymore. You’ll feed him by hand if you buy a snack cake, you’ll hold his arm as you walk. He’ll even kiss your forehead if the opportunity arises.
But he’s timid.
And it isn’t until you’re visiting Vivian that you realize what it is. You had been telling her about how hard it’s been for you to decide on a shade of green for the nursery when he had hidden his face in your hair. You had entangled your fingers in his and thought of it as nothing more than an act of affection from him but it started happening more often.
And then it clicked.
He only ever did it after being directly addressed, when people were looking at him. You finally brought it up one night when you’d been trying to get comfortable on the couch, your protruding stomach making it exceedingly difficult.
You’ve got two talking points to cover, the sudden shyness, and getting to the bottom of his silence, although you’ve got a sneaking suspicion as to what it’s about.
You eventually settled with your head in his lap and your feet up on the arm rest, smiling up at him as he played with your hair.
“You know you can wear the helmet when we go out if you want.” You finally blurt out as he gives you a confused look.
“Why would I do that?”
“Well I know that you still have it and you just seem a little… uncomfortable sometimes without it.”
“I thought you liked my face?” He says it with a teasing tone but it has you sitting up out of the position you struggled to find for so long.
“I love your face. But I also want you to be comfortable.” You press a long kiss into the coarse facial hair of his jaw, he’s been so busy with house work and you it’s gotten longer than you’ve ever seen or felt it.
“I’m comfortable with you.” He turns his face, nudging his nose against your lips until you kiss him there as well.
“I just noticed that you’ve been a little tense, especially during outings.” You tilt your head, giving him a lopsided smile as he stands, leaning down to cradle your face in his hands.
“I’m just not used to it, cyare.” He stands, examining the space in the room. “I want to put a fireplace in before the baby comes.” He mumbles as he moves the loveseat, making space against the wall.
You seize the opportunity, might as well kill two birds with one stone.
“Speaking of when the baby comes, I thought we were going to visit your little one at some point?”
His shoulders stiffen up for just a moment before he shrugs.
“I guess I’ve just had other things on my mind, nerves about the baby.” He doesn’t look at you, instead he measures the space on the wall with his hands.
“I thought you were excited to be a dad?”
“I am a dad, and I am excited.” He’s mumbling, he hasn’t talked about Grogu in ages and it’s making you worry.
“You’ve been quiet.”
“I’m always quiet.”
“Not with me.”
He turns and stares at you for a moment before clearing his throat.
“I’m scared.” He sits back down beside you and you wrap your arms around him as best you can with your bump in the way.
“Of what?”
“I don’t know.” He shrugs. “I’m scared that the baby won’t like me, or that I’ll mess them up, or something like that.” It is so much easier to tell when he’s lying, now that you can see his face. You never would have thought his cheeks would get so rosy.
He’s a natural with kids and he’s been more excited than you are for the baby, he even spends all his free time embroidering the baby’s name into their clothes.
“Din.” You say sternly, pulling back to look at him.
He chews the inside of his cheek a bit.
He whispers something but he’s so quiet you can’t hear him.
“Din, please.” You take his head in your hands and force him to look at you.
“I’m scared that if we go to get Grogu he won’t want to come home with us.”
A pang of sorrow hits your heart.
“Why wouldn’t he?”
“Maybe he’s happy there, maybe he’s forgotten all about me.” He looks hurt in a way you’ve never seen him before, if you weren’t days away from your due date you’d get on a ship and take him to his boy right now.
“He hasn’t forgotten about you.” You take his hand.
“You don’t know that.”
“I know you. And I know that I’d never forget you.” He still looks unsure as you stare into those sad eyes of his. “We have to at least try, it would be better to know. This baby already loves you, that’s enough of an indicator to me that Grogu feels the same.”
“You have no proof that this baby already loves me.” He finally cracks a smile at what you’re implying.
“Come here.” You lay your head back down in his lap, making a second desperate attempt to get comfortable. You grab his hand, lifting the fabric of your top until your stomach is exposed, placing his large palm over the swell of your belly. “Talk to him.”
“What am I supposed to say?” He’s looking at you like you’re insane but you just shrug.
“You talk to him all the time.”
“Yeah but you never put me on the spot like this.” With his freehand he rubs the back of his neck.
“Just do it.” He takes a deep breath, his thumb rubbing small circles into your skin.
“Hello ik’aad.” He says softly, looking up at you for approval as you nod. “I’m excited to meet you soon, little one.” You watch as the taut skin moves ever so slightly, a little kick against Din’s fingers. His eyes go wide as he sits there a little stunned, you put your hand over his.
“He does this most of the time when you talk to him. He likes your voice.”
“What else should I tell him about?”
“Anything.”
He smiles at you, the corners of his eyes crinkle before he smiles at your bump.
“We painted your crib today, we decided to leave the walls alone but we wanted something to be green.” He carries on excitedly as you continue to feel the little flutters within you. “And- and someday you’re going to share a room with your brother.” You smile as your little one reacts to his fathers voice, you sit up, facing him.
“No more worrying. And if you’re going to worry then I want you to tell me.” You kiss as much of his face as you can. “Okay? Do this for me, please?”
“Okay.” He nods as you give him one last kiss on the lips.
You move to sit between his legs like you used to in the nook, you find yourself a book as he puts his hands back on your bump while you read.
He spends the rest of the night talking to your stomach.
Arin Kuiil Djarin (Harand) was born with a full head of hair. Dark, messy curls that you could make out even through your tears when he came into this world.
The future monarch. (A ceremonial position.)
A screaming ball of tears in your arms, crowned king from birth. A boy everyone knew as the only son of the recently departed Kodo Harand.
Your “royal advisor and personal guard” was beside you the entire time. Holding your hand and kissing your sweat slicked forehead as he whispered to you, telling you just how strong you were. It was one hell of a night but when the morning came suddenly you were parents to a strong, loud little boy.
Din held him first, after he cut the umbilical cord the doctor handed him to him. You watched as he cradled the tiny crying baby in his arms, shushing him softly as he rocked him. It took only a few whispers from his father before Arin calmed down, gasping faintly as Din slid into the bed next to you. You laid your head against his arm, unable to tear your eyes off of the tiny miracle.
“Do you wanna hold him?” Din’s voice cracks as he continues to stare at him.
You nod, a little scared about how small he is but you hold your hands out regardless as he carefully transfers him into the crook of your arm. You’re holding your breath as you look down at him.
When he’s safe in your arms he finally opens his eyes.
He is just a little copy of your riduur.
Dark curious eyes scanning your face as you burst into another wave of tears.
“He’s perfect.”
“He’s perfect.”
You both whisper at the same time, laughing softly. You hold him tightly, Din’s arms wrapped protectively around both of you.
Your entire universe in one little medcenter bed.
You go on a lot of walks.
It helps you get out of the house and people love to see Arin. Din wears a baby carrier Elaine made with the little one strapped to his chest while you hold his hand. Everyone loves to see the little king, telling you that he’s such a good baby.
People often say he looks just like his father, you always laugh and smile at your brown haired boy.
He really does.
He acts just like his father too. Even as a baby you can see his personality shining through. He likes to fight you on a lot of things, mostly vegetables and wearing his socks, but he loves you endlessly, your little mama’s boy. You never thought you’d see the adoration from Din’s eyes in someone else's but here he is, smiling up at you like you’re the sun, just like Din.
Your son was one year old when you met your second son. (Technically your eldest.)
You had urged Din to go to him sooner but he always found excuses, finally he told you he wanted to wait until Arin was a little older. On his first birthday you finally convinced him, and your family took a trip to a planet called Ossus.
And you met a little boy who you loved as a son from the moment you met him.
He certainly wasn’t what you were expecting but the moment he saw Din you recognized the look in his eyes as the same look Arin gives him first thing in the morning. And from that moment on you knew he was yours.
You couldn’t ask for sweeter boys in your life.
You finally found your peace.
Your freedom.
Things are a little different now but you never find a reason to be upset about it. You just learn to live with it.
Sometimes Din has to cut up any fruits or vegetables you’re preparing for dinner because the wet slicing sound makes your heart race.
You sleep with a lamp on because Din trembles when a room goes completely dark, when he asks why you don’t turn it off you tell him you just like having it on because you know he’ll never tell you just how afraid he was when he was trapped beneath the stone and earth.
You wrap him in blankets when winter comes and cradle his head against your chest, desperate to keep him warm. You see the vacant look in his eyes when a chill settles in his bones. The moment you see him shiver you bundle him up and drag him to bed, warming him with gentle and precise kisses until his eyes soften up again.
Din always wakes you up if he’s leaving the room after you’ve fallen asleep. It doesn’t matter if he’s going to the fresher or if he’s going to grab the baby and come right back. Because he knows that if he isn’t there when you wake up, you will freeze up in terror and cry softly to yourself until he returns.
On stormy nights, when the wind blows a certain way that resembles a low wailing, Din will always find an excuse to send Lysa a transmission, asking how Elaine is doing.
You learn to live with the little thing’s because sometimes you can’t heal completely, but you live regardless. You have reasons to endure.
You endure for Din.
You endure for Grogu.
And you endure for Arin.
Din always says he was born to love you.
You agree but that wasn’t all he was born for, he was born to be a father.
Arin and Grogu taught you to be a mother, but Din was made for fatherhood.
That’s what you think about, as you sit in the loveseat by the fire, book in hand. You aren’t actually reading it, you’re too busy watching the scene on the floor in front of you. Your sons peek out of the pillow fort they’ve built against the sofa, Arin covering his mouth as he holds in a giggle, staring at you with his wide brown eyes. You give him a small wave, watching as he darts back inside.
“Are you staring at your mother, young man? Staring is very rude.” You hear Din’s voice from inside the fort, a large bump in the blanket roof where he sits. More giggles follow as he crawls back to the small entryway, you watch as he shrieks when Din drags him back into the fort, taking his place and mimicking the little boy as he stares at you.
He looks at you with a devotion that never wavers.
“You’re my creed. Everything I have, everything I am, it’s all for you. For both of you.”
He still tells you that often. Except now he says for all of you.
He crawls out of the fort, his face red from exertion as he makes his way over to your chair, like he’s under some sort of spell that pulls him towards you.
“How are my girls, buir sarad?” Din’s out of breath as he grabs the armrests of the chair, caging you in as he kisses you.
“Tired.” You grin at him as he kneels down in front of you, resting his forehead on the bump you’re cradling with your freehand. You set your book down on the end table next to you, content to watch as he knocks his nose against the strained fabric of your dress.
“Sarad’ika.” He smiles, kissing the top of your stomach, you don’t mind losing your nickname to someone it suits more. “Let me put them to bed, I’ll be right back.” His lips turn up as he stands, looking down at the two boys with drooping eyes and mouths open in yawns.
“Go with your buir now my loves, I’ll come tuck you in in a minute.” You groan as you stand, Din scooping up both babies with ease.
“Haav ca’nara.” Bed time. He whispers, carrying them towards the fresher, you hear the water run as he washes their little faces and brushes their teeth.
You tidy up, folding blankets and rearranging pillows as you hear water splashing from the other room followed by a loud sigh. You stifle a laugh as you watch your boys running from the fresher down the hall towards their room, a soaking wet Din soon follows. You continue to clean, waiting until it gets quiet before making your way out of the room. You walk past the nursery, empty and waiting for its next occupant, towards the door with the faint glow of a night light. Peering in from the doorway you see all your boys in one room.
Grogu and Arin lay in their respective beds, each is far too big for the small boys but they’ll grow into them. Grogu’s already asleep as Din kneels beside Arin’s bed, brushing a curl out of the little one's eyes.
“Goodnight, ik’aad.” He leans down, kissing his son's face, earning a sleepy smile from the boy.
“Night, buir.” He mumbles out, he doesn’t speak often, quiet like his father, but when he does it’s always clear.
Din smiles, standing, kissing your cheek as he passes you, going out into the main room to lock up as you make your way to Grogu’s bedside, watching his eyes flutter as you press a kiss into his wrinkly green forehead.
“Goodnight, my love.” You mumble before turning to Arin’s bed, sitting beside him as you watch him fight sleep, trying to keep his eyes open. “Sleep now my little love.” You murmur to him, kissing your fingertips before bringing them to his forehead.
“Goodnight mama.” He yawns out as you watch him finally succumb to sleep.
You leave the door open a crack, letting out another groan as you rub your stomach, Din waits for you in the dimly lit hall, holding out a hand which you happily take, letting him pull you into an embrace.
“No more babies after this one, my back is killing me.” You give him a stern look as he brings both hands to your bump.
“You have given me everything, I wouldn’t possibly ask for more.” He whispers. “Although I do think we could handle one more.” He raises his eyebrows at you and you can’t help but laugh.
“Fine, you carry the next one then.” You reach behind him, pushing open the door as you grab the collar of his tunic, pulling him into a kiss while you laugh against each other.
“I love you.” He mumbles.
“I love you too.” There is no hesitation. There hasn’t been for a long time.
And you go to bed.
In your perfectly sized bedroom.
On your perfectly sized mattress.
With your Din.

Gentle waves lapped against the yacht as it was moored in the bay of the private island Max had hired for the week. Your morning had been spent enjoying the ocean spray and the sun with Max navigating the pristine waters of the Mediterranean before you had convinced him to leave the captain's chair and join you on the top deck.
It was lucky there was nothing around for miles or the boat might have run aground when he saw you were sunbathing nude because he didn’t make it back to the steering wheel for quite some time.
“I have a surprise,” Max said as he helped you step off the boat and onto the pier that led to the waterfront villa.
Your already bright smile grew as a quad bike came down the beach and you grew impatient as Max failed to explain anything further. “Well, don’t leave me hanging,” you urged him. “What’s the surprise?”
“You’ll find out,” he teased before grabbing your hips and lifting you onto the back of the quad driven by one of the staff that maintained the villa. “Everything you need is in the backpack.”
He tipped your head back and crushed his lips to yours, nipping your bottom one as he pulled away smirking. “I’ll see you soon.”
You would have opened the backpack to try and figure out what was happening but the ATV revved and your hands were preoccupied with grabbing the handles as you were sequestered away. The ride was nowhere near as smooth as the yacht had been on the sea and you bounced around as the man Max had entrusted your safety to left the beach and drove inland, deep into the forest you had yet to explore.
“Nous voilà. Bonne chance,” he said as he stopped in a clearing with a small lake. Your French may have been limited but even you knew ‘goodluck’ when you heard it and you frowned as you hopped out of the offroad vehicle, grabbing the backpack before he left again.
“What the hell, Max,” you muttered as you were left alone and the sound of the bike was replaced with birdsong.
There were staff all over the island, topping up supplies in the villa and maintaining the land, but they were very adept at keeping to the shadows to give you the privacy that was expected with your stay. You only hoped they were somewhere nearby as you took a seat at the edge of the water and opened the backpack to see an envelope with your name on it.
We know how much you love the chase and you know we love the competition, so while you and Max were off island we snuck on.  For each hour you escape us, another joins the hunt. Goodluck, Charles, Lewis, Carlos, Checo, Lando, Fernando, Pierre & George.
Your heart jumped at the thrill they offered and you opened the bag open further to see some warm clothes to go over the swimsuit you still wore along with shoes, food and water, as well as a map and compass. You unfolded the map first and saw there were places marked that offered more supplies before checking your watch. It was a little after noon and with sunset tending to be just before 9pm you could see yourself enjoying the night with all of them, if you could evade them for nine hours.
It didn’t escape your notice that the names were in the same order of the driver standings and you knew it wasn’t going to be an easy task hiding from them on the island. It wasn’t that large but the forest offered the best chance with its cover so you pulled on the clothes and packed the bag up again before setting off into the bush, keeping your heading north with the compass.
The first hour passed quickly with you looking over your shoulder every ten seconds but the second hour grew a little tiresome as the initial burst of adrenaline retreated and the solitude of the dense trees left you going stir crazy.
By late afternoon you knew Max, Charles, Lewis and Carlos were definitely about with Checo likely already having joined them too. It was Carlos’ laugh that alerted you to their proximity and you daren’t breathe as you dropped to the ground and rolled under a thicket of bush. Your ears pounded as your heart rate spiked and blood pumped furiously around your body. Excitement of the chase warred with the need to get caught and it took all your self control to keep still as they passed your hidden position.
“Sucks to be you, mate,” Carlos teased, “you’ll be fighting your own brother for her next season.”
The thought of sharing the Leclerc brothers stoked the fire igniting in your body and your thighs pressed together tightly.
“Do you see any Alfa Romeo drivers here?” Charles shot back.
“He makes a very good point,” Max said with a laugh. “But if you were champion you wouldn’t have to fight anyone.”
“Yeah,” Charles scoffed and you could picture him shaking his head.
“It’s not impossible to do, fucking difficult, don’t get me wrong, but not impossible,” Lewis noted as their voices faded off with the snaps of sticks under their boots.
The last thing you heard was Checo suggesting splitting into smaller groups to cover more area and the others agreeing, you didn’t hear who teamed up with who.
Another two hours had passed by the time you reached the northern beach of the island, long shadows chasing the retreating tide as the temperature started dropping. It was quite the relief to find that a glamping tent had been set up and inside was a warm meal as well as more clothing and there was even a solar shower after all the walking you had done.  There was no way you were going to pass up the chance to have a hot shower and quickly stripped off your clothes before stepping under the refreshing water.
If you weren’t so tired from the unexpected exercise the afternoon brought you might have questioned how the meal was hot or why the tent wasn’t on the map.
“Well, well, look who wandered in,” Pierre chuckled as he stepped into the tent with a towel hung low on his hips, George at his side with wet hair and a grin on his lips. “This is a surprise.”
You froze as you realised this wasn’t a supply tent for you but where the guys were waiting for their time to join the hunt. “Fuck,” you cursed and stepped out from under the spray of water to grab a towel.
“No need to cover up, love,” George tutted as crossed the distance in two long strides and blocked the shelf full of them. “I quite like you as you are.”
You looked at his watch and bit your lip at the heat of his stare. “You’re not playing yet.”
His thumb caught a drop of water clinging to your bottom lip and your nipples peaked as the air cooled around you. “I never play when it comes to you.”
Pierre watched with an amused look as he sat back on the bed that had been made with the same neatness as the beds in the villa. “It’s kind of a shame you’re here really, I was looking forward to hunting you down.”
Your chest rose and fell with quick breaths as you enjoyed the same thought. “You could let me go, there’s still five minutes.”
His head tilted as he pondered the decision but your attention was torn when George’s knuckles traced your jawline before trailing down your neck and over your collarbone, a soft sigh parting your lips at the touch.
“Tempting,” George muttered, “but we can hardly let you walk out of here when you look at us like that.”
A shiver rolled down your spine as your tired muscles were refreshed with an injection of adrenaline and a smile played at your lips. Unable to help yourself, you grabbed George’s hips and rose on your tiptoes to brush your lips across his cheek. “I’ll see you in an hour.”
Your fingers curled into his towel and pulled it from his hips as you ran out of the tent, Pierre’s deep laugh promising retribution as it followed you out. “Four minutes, chérie!”
Your feet were flying as you sprinted off the beach and back into the treeline knowing Pierre would be hot on your heels the moment the hour clicked over. You checked your watch to see how much time was left and cursed as you remembered taking it off to shower.
You didn’t have a single clue what direction you were heading, all you wore was George’s towel and the low sun barely saturated the canopy of leaves overhead. Realistically, you weren’t sure you could outrun the guys for another hour to get your share of them all but you kept trying.
Your lungs burned and your bare feet hurt but you kept your head down and kept moving before bursting through the tree line into a clearing, crashing into the back of someone. You both fell to the ground with a surprised shout and he managed to wrap his arms around you before the impact came but the towel managed to come free. Rolling on top of him, you straddled his waist and pinned his shoulders down.
“Got you.”
Charles' stunned expression only lasted a second before he grinned. “The hunter becomes the hunted.”
“Where are your clothes?” Max asked as he picked up the towel and you saw Carlos in the clearing too, the trio making up one of the teams they split into.
You dragged your eyes up the length of his body and licked your lips. “Why, want me to cover up?”
“No fucking way, hermosa,” Carlos replied quickly as he took the towel from Max and balled it up before throwing it back into the bush. “This is perfect.”
“You look cold,” Charles commented as he pushed himself up on his elbows to flick his tongue over your nipples and a needy whine poured from you. “I think between the three of us we can warm you up.”
Your mind went blank at the promise of being between them and your hips rocked over his in search of friction. “Please…”
Carlos was already shucking his jacket and ripping his belt out of the loops with a sharp snap so he could kick off his jeans while Max was content to lean against a tree, arms crossed as he watched the scene unfold before him.
Your head fell back with a cry when Charles bit the swell of your breast and your knees tightened around him in response to the bolt of lightning you felt in your core. “Fuck, I missed those sounds,” he groaned as he pulled away before tugging you up his body and positioning your cunt over his lips. “Not as much as I missed how you taste.”
The heat of his breath blowing across your core was nothing compared to his tongue as he tasted you for the first time in weeks and your jaw fell slack with a moan.
“That’s it, baby, open wide,” Carlos praised, his fist pumping slowly up and down his cock as stepped closer.
There was something wild and freeing with being lost in the middle of a remote island, the scents of the earth and natural light colliding with the dominant energy rolling off the men. And knowing there were even more of them out there searching for you made you feral with need.
Your lips sealed around Carlos and your nails dug into his ass as you pulled him closer, burying him down your throat until you gagged. His hand found its way to the back of your head and he held you there as your eyes watered and you almost had to tap out.
“Dios mío,” he moaned as he watched you gasp for air before taking him once again, tears staining your cheeks.
Your legs began to tremble around Charles and he moaned as your arousal ran down his chin. The tension that had been building all day finally peaked and stars danced around your vision as Charles’ tongue and Carlos’ cock found the perfect rhythm.
Carlos grinned as your eyelashes fanned across your cheeks, droplets glistening along them while your throat tightened around him. “That’s a good girl,” he praised and wrapped his large hand around your throat to feel your struggles with his size.
Your orgasm shattered every inch of you and your cries were smothered as Carlos’ hand tightened, his hips thrusting forward as he joined you. His taste filled your mouth and you hummed as it ran down your chin before you climbed back down Charles' body and saw the mess on his face.
“Open your mouth, Charles,” Max said with a smirk as he pushed off the tree and knelt beside him. Charles obeyed in an instant but Max wasn’t satisfied as he caught his chin and opened his mouth wider. “Go on, baby, he’s dying for a taste too.”
You leaned forward and parted your lips, letting the thick stream of cum flow into Charles’ mouth before he pulled you down and shared the taste on your tongue with a deep groan.
“How was your warm up?” Max asked as he lifted you off Charles. Your feet touched the ground and though they were a little weak from the orgasm they seemed stable enough.
“Warm up?”
Max checked his phone and chuckled before he slapped your ass. “Run, rabbit, run.”
Carlos’ laugh echoed Max’s from where he was pulling his boxers back up his thick thighs. “Here come the wolves.”
Two British accents caught your attention from somewhere in the trees and everyone turned to the sound but while they were distracted you bolted in the opposite direction, your legs bumbling like a newborn fawn. You barely made it fifty yards before a pair of strong arms caught you and you let out a surprised scream as the ground disappeared from under your feet.
Your already smarting ass took a fresh smack from Lewis’ large hand and you moaned as the heat spread across your skin. Peering up from where you had been tossed over his shoulder, you smiled as Lando caught up with his own lopsided grin.
“Hey gorgeous,” he greeted before Lewis turned around to say something to him but Lando was a little distracted. “Oh, hello gorgeous.”
His lips felt refreshingly cool against the handprints burning backside and you fell limp against Lewis’ back with a sigh at how good it felt. The upside down world starting to spin when Lewis held your legs apart so Lando could fuck you with his fingers and you quickly got lightheaded from it all.
“Tu vas bien?”
You worked hard to push yourself up to see Pierre had found you with his trademark smirk painted on his face and you gave him the thumbs up as your lips parted with another breathless moan. “Just exploring the island.”
“So I see,” he chuckled as he circled around you. “Heads or tails?”
“Heads,” Lewis called before Pierre tossed a coin in the air and slapped it down on his hand, Lewis’ deep laugh vibrating through you at the result. For a second you were almost airborne before he caught you and lowered your feet back to the ground to see the damp mark on his shirt. His smile was one of pure indulgence as he held your eyes and lifted the material to his lips and tasted you with a hum of satisfaction. “On your knees, babygirl.”
Your fingers worked his belt open and pulled his cargo pants down as you sank to your knees, your hand wrapping around his thick cock before you wet your lips. A pair of hands gripped your hips and you moaned around your mouthful as Lando pulled you back to meet his thrust.
“Fuck, you’re so wet, gorgeous,” Lando groaned happily.
Needing to breathe, you pulled back with a gasp and peeked over your shoulder to see Pierre pressed against Lando’s back and your core clenched as both of their eyes fluttered shut in pleasure.
“Oh my fuck,” you moaned as a delightful shiver spread across your body and Pierre placed his hands over Lando’s, holding your hips too as he set the pace.
“You like that, babygirl?” Lewis asked with a knowing smile as he ran a thumb over your swollen lips. “You want to watch them too?”
You nodded eagerly and tongue lashed across the pad of his thumb before you sucked it into your mouth and his chest rose quickly with the deep breath he took. He pulled you away from Lando, the emptiness only lasting a moment as he spun you around to face them and stretched your cunt as he snapped his hips forward.
Your hands braced on Lando’s chest and he stole the startled cry by crushing his lips against yours. You broke away breathless and your head fell back to rest in the crook of Lewis’ neck.
“Open your eyes,” Pierre ordered and they snapped open at the command to meet his over Lando’s shoulder.
Your eyes trailed down Lando’s body to where Pierre was stroking his hard length smoothly thanks to your arousal slick on his palms. You could hardly breathe as Lewis matched their pace, his tattooed hand reaching around you to find your clit.
“Uh-uh, eyes, chérie.”
Heat spread up your spine and tremors followed as the pleasure built to breaking point. It was the deep moan that Lando made as he came that tipped you over the edge and your fingers gathered the cum that warmed your skin so you could taste him too.
“Oh, babygirl,” Lewis moaned in your ear before spanking his palm across your ass. “You’re so tight, I can’t even, ugh,” his words were lost to his bliss as he rolled his hips slowly, milking every last drop that had begun to leak down your thighs.
“Putain,” Pierre swore as saw the delicious mess that had been made and slammed his dick into Lando one last time before spilling his own.
For a moment the clearing was silent except for the heavy breathing from all the exertion but then a slow clap started and Max, Charles and Carlos stepped out from the trees.
“Please don’t make me run again,” you panted from where you were sitting on Lewis’ lap, a sheen of sweat coating your skin. “I can’t feel my legs.”
“You’re welcome,” Lewis chuckled low in your ear.
“Luckily, the villa is just through those trees,” Max said as he pointed behind you and sure enough there were lights when you looked properly. “You, my little rabbit, have earned a bit of recovery time. After all, we have all night.”
