THIS IS A R-PE JOKE! THAT'S WHAT I HAVE BEEN FUCKING SAYING! ONE OF MY BIGGEST PROBLEMS WITH EPISODE 4 IS THE FACT OF "we want to write an empowering story about men getting sexually assaulted. Men victim don't get that attentio-" BITCH, YOU MADE MANY R-PE AND SA JOKES ALL THE FUCKING WAY THROUGH HELLUVA AND KNOW HAZBIN! You are the one making fun of scenarios where your male characters get assaulted or r-ped.

HOW TF DO YOU PRETEND TO BE SOOO ABOVE PEOPLE (INCLUDING VICTIMS OF SA AND R-PE) THAT'S EXPRESSED HOW THEY FELT ON THE EXECUTIONS AND WHO WORKED IN EPISODE 4. WHEN YOU YOURSELF MAKE JOKES ABOUT IT????? For some context, Sir Pent is trying to get with Cherri, but always deflects first in case she rejects him. He offers her a drink, but immediately says it's because he'll buy a drink for everyone on the club. Then he asks Cherri if they can have sex- and deflects back (a repetition joke) "Because I'll have sex with everyone here". Then he gets dragged into a room by other people, yelling wait and no! And the door closes as you heard him scream.

Out of context in the screenshot, you might even think it might be a serious scene where something happens to Pentious. BUT NO! IT'S BRUSHED OVER REAL FAST AND PLAYED AS "HAHA SOMETHING BAD HAPPEN TO SIR PENTIOUS AGAIN LMAOO"- it's the punchline.

Then at the end of the episode he gets out asking "Where is Cherri" (who btw is having sex with a random guy).

And please don't say "Well, he asked for it"- you know how you sound. The whole point of the joke is that he is trying to get with Cherri and failing astronomically. The point here is that he really doesn't want to have sex with a bunch of random people, but he has to do it because he is getting dragged into a room. (Again, Pentious is like Moxxie Their joke it's getting trashed and bullied by the world or people around them).

You made a whole episode about dealing with a male character's sexual assault, abuse or r-pe. Saying how much you respect victims, and your episode, it's just perfect about the topic. BlaBlaBla- no, you don't. You made all this jokes since HB season 1. This new joke was episode 6 of HH. You never acknowledge power dynamics, or coercion. You never acknowledge anything bad in your show.

Remember, as much as this shows go for LGBTQ+ representation and Queer media. As a ""Female lead show"". This jokes link back (not only to making fun of SA and R-pe itself, but to) homophobia and Misogyny. A scenario of where a man gets SA'ed or r-ped by another man or woman- leads to a scenario where the character is made fun of for not being "masculine enough" for being a victim or for not being able to defend themselves. In a scenario where this happens by a man to man, "It's funny because the victim is viewed as gay. As less masculine = gay and that's bad cause gay = weak and feminine and the idea of feminine = weak".

(There are a few jokes here and there, like Blitzo touching Moxxie's dick after making fun of him for having a baby penis.)

If you didn't notice, Moxxie gets attacked by multiple succubus, and that's apparently funny. KEEP IN MIND is not basic physical violence-no he comes out with lipstick kisses marks, the sounds effects are (ugh)... and Blitz tells him "Don't let them access any of your holes". In other concepts, I want to point out that the times when Moxxie is viewed as a bottom or feminine- he is made fun of. When Millie pegs him, he is made fun of because he is the man of the relationship, being implied as the bottom. When he wears the outfit of unhappy campers, he is extra objectified or made fun of even more than in any other episodes. He is also forcefully put on a dress in his wedding.

He is made fun of for being SA'ed for being uncomfortable scenarios:

These aren't jokes made by characters that "are bad because they are from hell". These are scripted jokes written by a person searching for the audience to laugh.

AND the reason why many audiences accept this jokes or even find them funny is because of some of these views (internalized or not) above. You'll also notice how all these jokes are directed at men (if you find an R-pe or SA joke directed at a woman in this two show, say something about it! POINT IT OUT!). People accept and write these jokes more because they care less about the idea of a man being a victim of such situation. More often than not- in the present, a woman getting assaulted or anything similar in any media gets noticed and called out. THESE JOKES OR THE NORMALIZATION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT, ASSAULT, COERCION, OR SIMILAR TOWARDS WOMAN STILL HAPPENS!!!! There is an idea that men just tend to just want sex all times at any time. -And that a man getting SA'ed or r-ped by a woman it's just sex, cause "Why wouldn't you like free pussy". When it's a gay perpetrator is viewed as funny cause "that makes you gay or a woman" and that's apparently hilarious. Men can be r-ped no matter what. Men can be targets of all of these acts.

Remember that all the scenes of sexual abuse, harassment and r-pe in Poison are directed by the R2. Who, once again, is into r-pe porn- and they themselves said they are not an SA victim either. So remember, not even a victim trying to cope with their own R-pe or SA. This person draws and ships "R-pe ships", and tags it as "naughty men uwu" bullshit. Also, a person so obsessed with the character of Angel that they changed their name to Tony (Angel's real human name), make themselves look like him, and become a sex worker like Angel. They themselves looked at a comic of Val threatening r-pe and abuse on Angel as "thank good you have balls to draw something mean with these too, I was so bored" ???? (this stuff is in:) and cosplay and take photos of your Val x Angel ship

Congrats if you as a victim yourself thought that the scene with Angel was good. If it helped you be and feel seen. But remember the rest of the show, the hypocritical writers, don't care enough to view it as a serious topic to not joke about. Both HB and HH written by the same people (as in Vivziepop), take their sweet time to turn these topics into jokes.

What pisses off more, it's the trying to make yourself be viewed as a sensitive person about such topic. Make it seem like you are a savior for writing about it in such "serious, powerful and not sugar coded" way. But then you drop that on the fucking ground to make a joke about it when you are tired of pretending you are so good. If you were so informed of SA and r-pe, you wouldn't be making these jokes. If you knew how much SA male victims struggle to get viewed as serious or their stories taken into account-you wouldn't be this shitty.

Very random impromptu god gojo AU thingy ??? I got the idea 5 seconds before drawing this (: brain empty….!! big eyes !!!eyes… GOJO? Gojo has eyes…- "BIG" eyes……..,'God' coded? Lets go with that.) and only thought a little while drawing so theres not much lol

But uhm.; So gojo is a young god ™ (around 20yo, typical gojo.) but despite that, he’s been overpowering other gods who have been there for thousands of years since the moment he was born (breaking the balance of the world as he does) so thats fun -- gods are immortal but he "doesnt count" yet right? his existence is an insult to the rest of the world. ‘Elders dont like him’ (that goes both for old gods AND old worshipers.) [<—aka ‼️OVERPOWERED YOUNGSTER OLD PEOPLE DONT LIKE ✅ (CHECK!) VERY GOJO!]

Theres a worship system thing going on in this AU ; A lot of people are very religious and follow these gods and whatnot (but there are probably groups that reject this lifestyle, or that sought out taboo methods instead, staying away from places where strict laws rule) [hashtag insert worldbuilding] —— GETO (born same year as « gojo ») HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP IN THIS SYSTEM SINCE A RELATIVELY YOUNG AGE AND IS FULLY EDUCATED ABOUT THE MANNERS AND RITUALS HE SHOULD DO AND BLABLABLA. Theres a hierarchy in the church/cult thing so theres higher ups for him to dislike while politely kissing ass (amen). Idk what he thinks of the gods (it’s between him being a model worshiper that truly has faith in them & him secretly having something against them for some reason, only believing in his own gatekeep girlbossness or something¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

EITHER WAY. he goes to meet gojo at some point. Probably because he has been asked to. Maybe the story is about (/or at least starts with) elders ™ deciding they want to find ways to control / restrain gojo (idk), leading to satosugu eventually teaming up to say fuck that.

It's based on the real word so I'm just going to assume It's about my main characters+ the cvlt. My main characters will get like a ancient book from the cvlt in an abandonned (actually not abandonned) bookstore and this book is really precious to the cvlt because they've been trying to get it back for decades. This book contains all the informations you need to know about the cvlt so obviously the women part of it don't want strangers (like my main characters) to find it and so, find where they are.

Mustard - What are the religions? Are any of them true?

I haven't really thought of it but I think there should be one for the cvlt. If you don't know, the cvlt was made by rebellious women and they started kidnapping men to make the next generation then kill them blablabla... Now, the current members of the cvlt treats these women like gods. So yea, I think it's a religion but it doesn't have a name or something and no it's not true or inspired by another religion at all.

it's not about "walking away" or abruptly breaking all the ties with Yuna. It's about the way Jk reacted when Yuna said SO many humiliating things about oc!!!! He just replied "we'll figure that out it's our business blablabla" DULL SHIT!!!

He didn't defend oc! didn't tell Yuna how fckng BAD she is (which was necessary here after the way Yuna bashed oc)!

ok soo basically, my thought process behind this thing abt jk not defending OC here is that it's pretty much pointless. As a reader, you can see that Yuna is really manipulative and feels very strongly towards OC and nothing but she alone can change that. JK finds it counterproductive to defend OC to someone who doesn't actually care about her in the first place, he chooses to attack her line of thinking instead so she herself can introspect and review what she says. He's also trying to process stuff that's being said to him. Like maybe he's just a people pleaser yk?

Like, the way it played out in my was like 'Ok my best friend of these many years absolutely hates my girlfriend because she likes me but I never saw this coming. This is not my fault but I still feel bad for her because we've been friends for years! I have no doubts about my interest in my current girlfriend and she is not here to watch this go down but I plan on telling her about it after I calmly try to navigate through this.'

i just finished "the romance of tiger and rose" and i have nothing to watch now :( do you have any cdrama recs?

hello!!!! sorry i got to this a week late my tumblr is like... neglected currently

anyway i’m so glad u enjoyed tiger and rose!!! i love it so much too :D for cdrama recs, omg it really depends on what u’re looking for!!!! i find it so hard to narrow down dramas that are my faves to recommend because i actually watch very little HAHA and i only watch to completion dramas that i really like anyway xD anyway i’ll just list a few that i’ve watched recently (meaning like... from mid 2019 till now) and really enjoyed!!!

period dramas:

- joy of life 庆余年 (2019): hard to describe this tonally because it’s v irreverant and hilarious yet moving and deep and suspenseful?! the first 15 episodes are fun and enjoyable but i think i really really truly got into it after that and became invested 100%. in my eyes it felt like a fervent love poem to life and the human condition especially towards the end. the characters are all very fascinating and there’s a lot of twisty plot twists. excellent acting and script writing. only caveat is that it’s the first season out of a planned 3 season series so it ends on a cliffhanger, and the female lead doesn’t really have as much agency compared to the other supporting female characters (mainly due to her circumstances and the role she plays i guess).

- young blood 大宋少年志 (2019): YOOO THIS is a huge lovelovelove for me, you have the most lovable squad consisting of 6 very different and generally lonely teenagers who get roped into this secret services thing where they deal with top secret government plots and stuff. and they start off all on the wrong foot and grow to LOVE EACH OTHER and RELY ON EACH OTHER and HAVE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. *sobs just thinking about it* has many supporting characters that are interesting and whom u also get invested in. It’s an original script written by Wang Juan 王倦 who also wrote the joy of life script, except young blood is 100% original and not adapted from a webnovel! just like tiger and rose’s script, which is also an original script written by Nan Zhen. this is SUPER SUPER rare nowadays in cdramaland which is why i stan these 2 dramas so hard hahaha. caveat: young blood also ends on a kind of cliffhanger/open ending, but it still felt like the arcs that the entire series covered in terms of character development were well completed so i was okay with it. plus there are lots of hints that there’s also gonna be a season 2, though I think Wang Juan is still writing the script for that.

- under the power 锦衣之下 (2019/2020): this is the drama that tiger and rose is sometimes compared to in terms of how it became so popular unexpectedly. i would wholeheartedly recommend this 100% solely for the OTP which is a Tsundere Embroidered Uniform Guard (Ming-dynasty secret police) ML x Bubbly/talkative/street smart Constable FL. they are SUPER SUPER cute and the leads (who are both my faves) play them super well and their romantic development is presented really organically. the outfits esp the male lead’s are A+++ also and make him look super super hot. i like the OST too. however everything else is quite mediocre lol especially the special effects and the meandering sideplots and there was a whole plot arc that didn’t really make much sense because a lot was edited out because of censorship. STILL VERY ADDICTIVE THO

- the story of ming lan 知否知否应是绿肥红瘦 (2018/2019): a very long drama (but quite normal by cdrama standards lol) basically about the ~journey~ and ~growth~ of our protagonist minglan, unfavoured daughter of a concubine of a relatively high ranking civil servant. it’s a very different vibe to a lot of other cdramas in that it’s very slice-of-life and slow paced, but i think it’s fascinating how it showcases how women deal and work with the internal dynamics of a household in a patriarchal society, and how that affects societal and political affairs as well. her OTP with an unfavoured son from another family (lol) is also very very delicious as it’s basically 2 people who have gone thru a lot of Trauma as children treasuring each other/learning that they too are treasured by the other and them building their own family and household against all odds and evil family members. it’s v long and slow paced as i mentioned earlier but it’s very very rewarding!! and i think many of my tumblr mutuals would agree it’s quite a favourite :D

modern dramas:

(i’ll admit that i’ve only had the brainspace the past 1 year for fluffy brainless modern dramas so all these are just for the FLUFF)

- skate into love 冰糖炖雪梨 (2020): uni drama where the FL re-picks up her true love speed skating after abandoning it for Reasons and gets back into it competitively. her OTP is her primary school deskmate who is an ice hockey player. the otp is very very fun!! the ML has a lot of resentment towards FL initially because FL was quite the bully in primary school but i really like how they resolved it and eventually the ML falls first and falls Really Really Hard and it is Delicious. the career aspects was quite well done also and i really rooted for the FL to rediscover her passion and pick it up again, and also for the ML to become better at his craft. caveat: i actually still have 10 episodes to go as i stalled because i know there’s a couple of episodes coming up that are going to be frustrating because of typical Misunderstanding and Miscommunication blablabla. but that’s pretty common lolol and overall it’s still a cute watch.

- the 致我们 series consisting of 3 dramas : 

1) a love so beautiful 致我们单纯的小美好 (2017): high school drama basically tsundere male lead x bubbly female lead, they’ve been classmates since young and are next door neighbours, female lead has a crush on him since forever

2) put your head on my shoulder 致我们暖暖的小时光 (2019): set in uni, female lead’s doing an internship far from her school, male lead is a physics student and his parents have a flat for him that is near female lead’s internship place, BAM THEY ARE FLATMATES!

3) the love equations 致我们甜甜的小美满 (2020): uni drama, female lead is a chinese language major who loves writing forensic novels online, male lead is a forensic science major.

all 3 are really cute lolol. i put these 3 because i just watched the third one two months ago and i feel like i have to mention it in the context of the first 2 haha. the first 2 were definitely hits both domestically and internationally. i feel the 3rd one kind of flopped? in terms of reception compared to the first 2 and a lot of my drama mutuals couldn’t get into it, and i can understand why because it did feel more unpolished? in terms of directorial choices/the editing/the acting/the script. but i still somehow really loved it for some reason, i think some parts of the ML’s life esp his relationship with his mum really resonated with me, and i loved FL and her friendships with her dormmates so so so so much. so i really rooted for the OTP.  i think objectively in terms of quality i would rate them 2 > 1 > 3, but in terms of feels... i loved them all. and it’s all just pure fluff anyway at the end of the day HAHA.

ok i’m running out of time writing this hehe but also a quick shoutout to my 2 favourite youth/high school dramas forever - With You 最好的我们 (2015) and My Huckleberry Friends 你好旧时光 (2017) which are sister dramas/set in the same universe and imo, are the pinnacle of youth dramas and what it means to capture the anxieties/stresses/mundane joys/pain/beauty of the Chinese/Asian high school experience. 

there are many others from before 2019 that i watched and enjoyed but i didn’t put them in hehe. and i’m sorry HAHA i actually don’t have much trust in my own taste LOL but i hope it helps!!

First things first, i have 54635664 docs from Make Your Heart Remember Me: MYHRM C1 / MYHRM C2 / MYHRM C3 and then I broken down C4 in four parts so currently we have MYHRM C4 1 and i’ve just finished MYHRM C4 2. We also have the voice kids au outlining (which is self explanatory) and the voice kids au things to include (which is also self explanatory).

Ok, onto other things:

drarry au: an idea i had last week after reading too many drarry fics. it’s a post-war au, auror harry gone wrong who finds in a isolated draco the help he needs to find himself again, basically.  will i ever write this? who knows. drarry is too sacred for me to try to write something out of it without thinking i’m screwing it up.

just my luck au: this doc came to life because i watched this movie basically three times in a row some weeks ago and it has been in my list of larry aus i want to write for a long time, but i don’t have anything written, i only put which character from the movie they all would be.

next fic ideas: that’s basically a doc with the prospects of fics that i’m more inclined to write in the near future, which includes -- bad at sex au (more detailed below), soulmates/soulmark au 1 (they are childhood friends and each other’s soulmate but they are too scared to say they got each other’s words, which is a phrase the other said that has a big impact on them -- so it becomes really angsty because louis finds out harry’s his soulmate when they are 10 and there’s pining and a lot of shit), soulmate/soulmark au 2 (a different one where people are born with their soulmark which is a complimentary mark and anne and jay are best friends and when harry’s born, his mark is complimentary to 2yo louis and they are scared of what might happen to them, so instead of making them grow up as close as they are, louis resents harry as a spoiled and overprotected boy and harry grows up admiring louis until the day they find out about each other’s mark and that’s also too angsty) and a social media/secret friends/pining au (which is loosely inspired by love simon, just because of the online friend thing tbh but it goes something like this: harry pines for a irl friend and tells everyone online about it on his blog, and louis is one of his online friends who is in love with him but can’t tell him irl)

m&w part 5 ideas: yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that’s about it i can say :)

m&w5 timestamp: i missed my boys so much i started toying with something but nothing came out of this BECAUSE I NEED SYN’ BRAIN BACKING ME UP.

bad at sex: i started writing down this idea and actually came up with a scene lmao it has almost 6k on it, basically it’s a fic where harry and louis are strangers who hook up after meeting at bar, they end up having sex but it’s the worst sex louis has ever had in his life and afterwards he never sees harry again but he spreads the story around until one day it gets to harry and for louis’ luck, he ends up meeting harry at another bar and harry wants louis to know why he told everybody and their mother about their night and blablabla until they keep talking and louis takes pity on harry and decides to help him improve his sex life LMAO it’s simply ridiculous but i have fun thinking about it, maybe one day i’ll write it

stony au: which was an idea i had inspired by the larry fic the impossible now, and that i ended up writing the main idea as syn’s birthday. basically there’s an alternative universe where steve and tony are married, living normal lives not as superheroes, tony is still tony stark from stark industries and steve is a veteran from the us army but they have lots of problems until one day they have an ugly argument and that leads to him meeting doctor strange and ant man from another universe who take him to the avenger’s universe when they need tony to make captain america join the avengers to fight loki on the battle of new york and it happens that tony falls in love with captain america but has to figure it out what to do about his own steve back home.

Harry and Louis were so lost in each other: this is something I HAD TO WRITE DOWN because i had a dream about this while i was napping one day. it’s filthy. it’s 175 words long and i have no idea what to do with this, but yeah, it exists.

ngga 1 and ngga timeline: never gonna get away, the pwp-ish me and syn wanted to write but that will never be. solo artist harry/music critic journalis louis  hate to love/fuck buddies. yeah.

ww2 au: another idea syn and i had that will never be. childhood friends who find out they are in love with each other when one of them goes to war, with lots of pining and angst and letters exchange

high school au: 1.5k of a first scene where louis is heading to detention after being a smart-mouth and making fun of his teacher, and he’s telling all about that to niall, liam and zayn, and harry overhears it and starts laughing at him and louis is intrigued about the boy he doesn’t even know but who has the weirdest yet cutest laughter he’s ever heard. strangers to friends to lovers, basically. but the idea is long lost because i seriously don’t remember where i wanted to go with this lmao

first, i wanted to keep on ranting about the concentration camp episode like the old senile grandma that i am. i’m glad you got the idea hihi cause it may actually turn out to be a very defining moment for Lils

because she’s gonna end with i don’t know how many people in the nature and will call the rebellion for help but they’re like so numerous?? and they may be a threat, i mean we don’t know them and they may be highly fucked-up after months in death camp?? i’m not sure the rebellion would take the risk of saving them all? like i may be wrong about it but as much as i think the order would have come for them, the rebellion seems to be as more pragmatic, especially after all the losses they faced?

i’m sorry about all the question marks my mind is just one big question mark mdr

idk but i can see Nathan telling Lily to save herself, maybe take that Ryder kid with her but just let the others behind? and yeah you called it that’s the emergence of the whole “my people” thing. like that would make sense

i also don’t think the evading happened all peacefully? like it may have been the plan but i see it more like when the 100 revolted against the mountain men. and that would be my second point: that’s probably the first time Lily killed someone

like she mercy-killed Fenugreek and she recklessly-killed a deatheater during her dark/burnout period but killing someone in cold-blood? #NotMyLily

yet someone would have to do it, like it would be a guard or something. and she’d be super reluctant but “someone has to save our skins/i bear so they don’t have to”. and she does it. and that’s the beginning of a new era for Lily

plus she ends up being sort of a leader after that? that’s like a lot

and then there’s her brother and there’s the virus. she accepts the leadership because she thinks she has to, and also because she thinks she’ll better be able to protect Aron this way (plot twist: he’s gonna stay in the rebellion anyway mdr)

ah yeah btw Aron joined the rebellion pretty early on, when Lily brought her family back to the U.K (how bad of an idea was this my bby). and he also canonically tried to end his life in the very headquarters of the rebellion and Lily felt like no one cared, like he didn’t fit in here, so when she started organizing the  muggleborn community she also (mostly??) did it because she felt that was the right thing to do for Aron

her brother is the motivation behind like 90% of her actions (which may also explain why she’s taking so many bad decisions because she loses all rationality when it comes to her family)

also Lily and braids!!!! i read something about Daenerys and how she added one more braid to her hair each time she won a battle. Lily would add a braid each time she killed someone/someone died because of her. and at that one point, with the virus and all... well there’s no more room on her head haha, so she cuts it short thinking it will make the hurt go away (#relatable)

so she’d keep the braids for a while even after she turned to a more “muggle style” (leather jackets and the like, gaelic tattoos!!...)

han yeah, like i thought a loooot about what would happen to Lily after Aron’s death (because as much as it’s breaking my heart we know it’s gonna happen :’()

will she go rogue? it happened for a few weeks when she was 18 and she was manipulated into thinking Aron was dead, but it did not last, was highly traumatizing, and so-not-Lily

cause my girl is all about drastic self-control. remember how she used to talk in her sleep and shit?? that’s not a thing anymore. she is constantly using occlumencia, to the point it’s starting to damage her a bit (like memory losses, confusion/paranoia, frequent nosebleeds...). it’s messing with her health but control has become an obsession

actually i like a lot how you brought up Les Ames Mortes into that cause!! so relevant!! anyway i’ll go back to that in a second post but yeah ever since that time she was always anxious (even though people didn’t seem notice??) like biting her nails and shit, she’s even that type of person having to deal with trichotillomania (is that how we call it)

anyway so no rogue!Lily, but this doesn’t mean no evenmoreradicalized!Lily

the more i think about it the more i can see her being stuck in an unhealthy position surrounded by unhealthy people putting all the burden on her and fetishizing her. like i’m probably too much into Far Cry 5 and Faith but Lily, especially after everything she’s been through, is the perfect candidate for desperate muggleborns in need of a heroic/mystic figure :’)

and at first it’s a marginal thing, like the matter of a few persons and Lily is digusted by it and tries to ignore it or just go like “hahahaha very fun Michel, thank you. nOW BACK TO THE PLAN” whenever someone brings that up. but then Aron dies and everything changes, cause everything she’s done over the last years was thought for him, her main purpose was to protect him (and make him proud!!) and it all failed and what is she left with now?? what’s her goal, what’s her drive?? why should she keep on fighting

and then there’s all these people counting on her and she’s got to save them right? maybe this didn’t work out for Aron because she didn’t try hard enough. who is she without the fight anyway? she’s desperate and wants to save her people so bad. like she’s legit terrified she’ll be the last one of her kind (just like her brother was btw mdr)

can you imagine how much of a terrible situation this must be

and like i said, Lily is obsessed with control. originally with self-control, but now?? she’s kind of becoming convinced that she’s the only one capable of saving them all, buying into that rhetoric and kind of embracing it, and thus taking measures to fulfil it. like executing traitors in public (when she always advocated for Oubliettes spell, probably repeatedly stood up against torture, etc.) i don’t know wHY I HAD THIS DREAM OF HER BOMBING THE BLACKBIRD RANCH???? hm. anyway, some bombings probably. embodying the harsh, blind, neutral justice. (and also having this aura of death around her yayyy)

i’m really proud of her pinterest board on that dynamic btw hihihi sorry

how do you destroy a monster without becoming one? are you a monster when you’re doing the right things, or the wrong things for the right reasons? it’s all about survival now, it’s about who has the guts to make the hard choices.

MILES’ CURSE IS TO HAVE HIS LOVED ONES BE PEOPLE WHO LITERALLY RUN DIRECTLY AT RAGING FIRES WITH ZERO THOUGHT WITH THE FULL INTENTION OF POSSIBLY CONFRONTING A MURDERER ON THE LOOSE.

 LIKE THIS IS A THING HE’S HAD TO DEAL WITH TWICE. AMAZING.

Like we were all wondering what Miles reaction would be if he had been there at the bridge when Phoenix did his thing but we are now basically seeing what it would have been like now. Kay has provided. Miles is a Ravenclaw and both his unofficial adopted daughter AND his husband are Gryffindors who run into raging fires i feel so sorry for him.

At least Gumshoe’s a Hufflepuff and Fran’s a Slytherin. He’s not like. completely surrounded. 

Kay did not literally run into the fire but she ran pretty close to it and is now being accused of murder as is the Ace Attorney way. Miles doggedly proves her innocence and Kay is all “YAY YOU BELIEVED IN ME RIGHT” and Miles is like “n-not really”. This is hilarious because 1. he literally just spent a half hour yelling about how he believed in her and then is like “well no i didn’t” are you fucking kidding me miles

and 2. While his instinct is to deny it here, he’s going to scream “I believe in you” directly to her about 20 times in the next game. without shame or restraint and with a fervor that would make even Phoenix Wright go “dang”. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

Omg I had no idea we got Dad Miles so early on with Kay because I never messed with this dialogue last time. And KAY ACTUALLY CALLS HIM ON IT IT’S BEAUTIFUL

Miles: Kay, I’m glad you weren’t hurt, but please refrain from such recklessness in the future. What if you had run into the real Yatagarasu? You could have been killed!

Kay: Sorry to make you worry like that…I’ll be more careful from now on.

Miles: Good girl. It’s good to conduct some self-reflection once in a while.

Kay: Eheheheh…It’s funny you know, when I talk with you, Mr. Edgeworth, it’s like I’m talking with my father.

Miles: I-is that so? (Do I really seem that old to her?)

LIKE WOW JUST STAB ME IN THE HEART SHE CAME OUT AND SAID IT.

“WELL I’D BETTER CHECK ON THESE STEEL SAMURAI VIDEOS. FOR CLUES. MY, THE THINGS I PUT MYSELF THROUGH FOR THE SAKE OF INVESTIGATION” 

Miles….sweetie.

There is nothing that’s not amazing about the part where they tell Miles he can’t investigate as a prosecutor and he’s like “OKAY BUT WHAT IF I’M FRANZISKA’S SUBORDINATE”. Just like that. And Franziska is like “okay I absolutely know you’re just doing this because you want to investigate. But also I cannot possibly say no to this opportunity “ And spends the rest of the case reveling in her power. But it’s just kinda amazing when you think about how someone who was once the SO PROUD THE SLIGHTEST BLOW TO HIS DIGNITY SENT HIM INTO A PAIN SPIRAL now will just. be his little sister’s subordinate in the name of truth. with no shame whatsoever.

There’s also this amazing part where Franziska demands Miles address her fornally as his superior and Miles is like “no I can’t do that. you’re Franziska. ANYWAY” and it’s like, there was no way she being like I’M YOUR BOSS USE HONORIFICS in the original (since according to that “how do they talk in the original Japanese” post he often calls her by her first name with zero honorifics which awww) and was probably demanding some super extravagant one too. 

What’s even better is he totally gives in two seconds later and begins addressing her as “Ms. von Karma” which means he probably gave in in the original too. 

Interesting character note: Miles just directly admits to Franziska “well, we both know I’m not actually a ‘genius prosecutor’ so I do have to do some guesswork here” and she seems kind of shocked. And rightly so, because in flashback case he says “FRANZISKA YOU CAN’T RUSH ABSOLUTE GENIUS” at one point which I remember clearly because I wanted to reach through the game and shove him in a locker. But now he’s just like “yeah I’m not actually a genius guys. u know the deal fran, i’m just tryin’ my best”. That’s a really nice demonstration of character development.

Also Miles was not content with scolding Kay about what she did one time. He keeps bringing it up “you could have BEEN HURT KAY DO YOU UNDERSTAND NEVER DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT AGAIN” and she must apologize. again. Phoenix is the fun dad who lets his kids do whatever the hell they want while Miles is the dad who makes you write a fifty page annotated essay on Why You Were Wrong whenever you worry him. I mean we’d guess this about them regardless, but I’m glad the games just come out and literally demonstrate it for us.

Awww Lang is just so adorably proud and defensive of Shih-na like he is of all the people who work for him, which is sad because she’s evil. EXAMPLE:

Miles: …you know how to work people

Lang: SHE SURE DOES. THAT’S BECAUSE SHE’S ONE AWESOME WOMAN WHO KNOWS HOW THE MANAGE. (…) SHE’S MORE THAN JUST A CAPABLE SECRETARY. SHIH-NA, SHOW THE WHAT ELSE YOU’RE GOOD AT.

Gumshoe notices how much open affection Lang shows his employees and pines for that (I can’t blame him)

Miles: Are you saying I don’t do anything for my subordinates?

Gumshoe: Ack, no sir, nothing of the sort…you’re someone I really respect, sir! Even if you are a bit…too strict sometimes.

Miles: That is only a problem on your end.

Kay: WOW WAY TO BE SUPER HARD ON HIM IN RESPONSE.

Miles: (…Am I really too strict on everyone?)

is this seriously the first time you’ve ever wondered this Miles. Also I love how defensive of Gumshoe Kay is. “WAY TO PROVE HIS POINT ASSHOLE”. He definitely needs Kay around to keep it real.

I have to respect that Kay just straight up tries to beat the shit out of Callisto for murdering her dad. It wasn’t a wise move at all, since Callisto is a trained secret agent and she pulls a gun on Kay and takes her hostage. MEANWHILE MILES IS JUST LIKE “WHY. KAY. WHY”. Sorry about ur Gryffindor daughter Miles.

Anyway Kay is rescued, Lang is sad blablabla. THEN FRANZISKA IS ACCUSED OF MURDER. IT IS HER TURN AT LAST. (lol they foreshadow this earlier in the game too. Miles was defending a suspect and Fran was like “what are you sensitive because of all those times you got accused of murder’ and Miles is like “WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD EXPERIENCE THE PAIN OF BEING FALSELY ACCUSED” and Fran was like “I’ll pass thanks”. But this is Ace Attorney Fran. You can’t avoid getting accused of murder.)

oh god and this part of the game was just impossible. i actually used up all my health a couple times and game over’d, which resulted in Franziska being DRAGGED AWAY by Lang while Miles sputtered incoherently. AND THEN THE TRUTH WAS LOST FOR ALL ETERNITY.

MILES JUST GET PHOENIX TO DEFEND HER HE’LL FIGURE IT OUT. And he would have willingly done it too. Especially if Miles asked him. But also probably even if Miles didn’t ask him. “I KNOW YOU AND EVEN THOUGH YOU’RE SUPER MEAN TO ME WE BONDED A COUPLE TIMES SO I’M COMING TO YOUR RESCUE” that’s just. classic Phoenix. and she would have been SO MAD about it. SO MAD. Okay I’m calling it this is totally what happened in the alternate game over universe and it was hilarious. 

But it turns out Lang didn’t actually think Franziska did it and just wanted Miles to figure stuff out. YET HE’S STILL TOTALLY WILLING TO ARREST FRANZISKA IF WE LOSE. OKAY.

omg if you go through all the interrogation options there are QUITE A FEW TIMES when Kay is preparing to just punch Alba in the face and Miles is like “KAY NO”. (More difference between Miles and Phoenix and the gang: Miles is all “OMG VIOLENCE IS WRONG” at Kay but when Athena wants to punch someone it’s all “okay sure as long as no one catches you”.)

Anyway I can’t blame her, cracking Alba is tedious as hell. Though it does have an amazing amount of Steel Samurai fanboying from Miles and he goes “WHAT WOULD ~THAT MAN~ WHO NEVER GIVES UP AND CAN DO ANYTHING DO I MUST DRAW ON HIS STRENGTH” but y’know. AND SO WE FINISH INVESTIGATIONS. It was fun.

Slapstick Infinite Comics 1 Review

This is not Slapstick, this is the fucking Mask. For those that have not read the original mini-series, its a fun little story about a wacky super-hero who doesn’t really FIGHT evil, more just annoy it into submission. It was a fun satire of comic books of the day in general. But apparently along the line Marvel thought “Hey, you know what would be best for this character? If we turned him into DEADPOOL!” And as you know, Deadpool plus cartoon physics equals Mask, BUT HEY-that series hasn’t been active in years so-PROFIT! 

But I digress, onto the story. It starts off with a scene straight out of Lobo with Slapstick murdering a bunch of bad-guys on a mercenary job, haha blood and gore.We then see him at dinner with his over-bearing family, complaining about how...mercenary work doesn’t pay enough for him to move out of his house, okay what the hell? I get their trying to make him a metaphor for Millenials having to live at home due to the economy, but Mercenaries get good pay. I know it sounds weird hoping for realism from a comic about a clown who got powers from Dimension X, but still.

On his next job retrieving tech for Parker Industries(Oh yeah, Peter Parker owns a company now in case you logically haven’t bought a Spider-man comic in years) he’s teamed up with-SPIDER-MAN whom he...can’t...remember...oh for fuck’s sake, this is LITERALLY straight out of Deadpool! I can’t remember the specific issue number but there was a team-up comic where Deadpool completely forgot who Spider-man was as a cheap way of continuing the story. YOU ARE REPEATING ONE OF THE WORST STORIES FROM DEADPOOL-that’s not a good sign!

We then see blablabla goon death, blablabla Spidey telling Slapstick murder is wrong, all the while a PAIN in the back of my neck caused by the fact that someone actually got payed to write this cliched story. Slapstick then finds out that lesser known villain Quasimodo was behind it, but instead of taking him out makes a deal with him to fix his glove so he can become a human again, and...wait a minute. An anti-hero with an irreversible condition seeking the help of a mad scientist to cure him-ONCE AGAIN DEADPOOL! Oh...oh dear lord who rated this a 9 out of 10? 

After that, Steve is with his best friend black-Weasel talking about being a big-shot again, bringing up a comic he’s...been working on for ages...which Slapstick thinks is dumb...yes its the original mini-series. WE HAVE RETCON FOLKS-if you were a fan of the original series and didn’t feel insulted yet, you should now! Not as bad as that 2014 version of Lobo, but still pretty bad. And then some He-man parody or something, I don’t fucking care anymore.

In short, its the same wacky, fourth wall breaking anti-hero story we’ve seen a dozen times, repackaged with a clown face. Its so sad that what was originally a deconstruction of the genre has now basically become the standard, and this series clearly doesn’t have a soul of its own. I’ve read mere snippets of the current Marvel run, but what I have has not impressed me in the least. In this humble blogger’s opinion, I’m not making mine Marvel any time soon.
