I love that they kept The Kiss. It was the moment in both the book and the show where Colin had a life epiphany while Penelope mentally prepared herself to let go of Colin forever.
The beauty of it is that when she thought she could be ready to resign herself to a life without him, she did the one thing that made him realize he could never let her go.

I love the difference between Pen and Colin. She’s loved him for years, silently but unwavering. While he’s just come to the realisation that somewhere along the line he’s fallen completely head over heels for her and he is UNHINGED about it. All I’m saying is Colin wouldn’t last a minute in the asylum where they raised her.

I just discovered your Merlin fanart and I would like to say I love the way you perfectly capture the expressions and uniqueness of each character! Have you ever drawn Gwaine or any of the other knights other than Arthur? (I love the way you draw Arthur btw cause Bradley has such an expressive face and you capture it perfectly)
Thank you!! Here is some Gwaines ;)))

I am utterly, utterly obsessed with the transformation in Colin's face when he says "touch me"...
It's so subtle but so damn effective. He goes from this sort of gently amused and bashful hint of a smile, looking away for just a moment while he collects himself... And then with a minuscule tucking of his chin and a microsecond flutter of his eyelids that ever so slightly tightens and narrows his eyes, suddenly we have an expression of just completely bald vulnerability.
And in this moment, what he's saying—"You could...touch me..."—goes from what might have been a sort of flippant suggestion—"Well, you could touch me, if you wanted..."—to raw, helpless need—"Please. Touch me."
This is a man who, some months earlier, had two prostitutes at a time groping at him in a brothel. But the idea of Penelope touching him—of him asking Penelope to touch him—splits him wide open.
I am ruined.

Colin, teaching Penelope flirting: What are your strengths?
Penelope: I fall in love easily.
Colin: Um, okay… and what are your weaknesses?
Penelope: Those beautiful blue eyes of yours.

Man, Colin's whole face the entire time they're talking under the willow tree and Penelope is telling him they have to stop the lessons and should even keep their distance. He's like- so puppy excited to see her, then hesitantly hoping she's given up on finding a husband, then befuddled and politely trying not to be crushed that she's actually doubling down on finding a husband and wanting to keep their distance.
He looks both lost and trying to save face, having feelings but unsure what they are or why they're happening or how to communicate them.
Honestly, I think Colin's face journeys are actually some of the best parts of this season and are well acted indeed.
