OKAY! Chatot rant in tags below! Read at your own discretion.
#okay starting from the beginning of where ppl usually dislike him. apple woods chapter.#he doesn’t give hero/partner the CHANCE to explain themselves despite them being relatively good recruits up until that point.#and that legit might be my only gripe with that chapter bc!!! stories need conflict! I LIKE the conflict in apple woods!!!#hero and partner being punished so something they didn’t do!#the misunderstanding! how team skull (Skuntank) actually outplays the main duo with a clever yet rotten trick. I LOVE that it segways into-#one of the more sweeter scenes of guild members looking out for eachother. I LIKE APPLE WOODS CONFLICT.#but chatot just. not giving them a chance. is so dumb.#I’d personally fix this by having a lil montage of hero/partner fucking up on jobs. A LOT. and chatot giving them a pass every time.#and let the perfect apple incident BE the one where he puts his foot down and doesn’t listen to them. bc he’d given them loads of chances.#and doesn’t want to hear any excuse.#but yeah. I legit dont mind him during that chapter except for that really stupid and frustrating moment.#NOW. CHAPTER 17.#UGGGGHHH WHERE DO I BEGIN#Him not believing hero and Partner about Grovyle and the future being in ruin? FINE. ACTUALLY GOOD. BC CHATOT WOULD BE SKEPTIC.#IT FITS HIS CHARACTER!!#BUT WHAT DOES SUCK. IS HIM GOING ‘Dusknoir isn’t the bad guy. he didn’t do anything wrong’#WHEN HE LITERALLY KIDNAPPED HERO AND PARTNER RIGHT I N F R O N T OF HIM.#(NO LITERALLY. HIS CHARACTER IS IN THE FRONT ROW WHEN IT HAPPENED.)#and him. having the GALL to tell hero and partner they must’ve been ‘seeing things’ and downplaying the HELL they went through.#despite them being missing for hours/days. his own guild recruits. and his angry sprite showing up.#like. I think that’s when I genuinely despised him.#that and him going ‘OH I BELIEVED YOU THE WHOLE TIME HEEHOO :)’ shit was so fucking annoying.#just playing it off as a joke the second the guild started to believe hero and partner.#IMAGINE IF HE W A S ACTUALLY TESTING THE GUILD’S TRUST. SHOWCASING HIM AS THE MORE RESPONSIBLE AND RESPECTFUL RIGHT HAND OF THE GUILD.#and yes. Brine cave he saves hero and partner. but at that point I just didn’t care anymore.#he fucked those two over so much. that I didn’t care what ‘valiant’ sacrifice he had.#and he grills Team Skull for what they did OFF SCREEN. they couldn’t even give us THAT.#<<< THAT or him outright saying sorry would’ve been nice. IKIK his ‘actions’ or whatever but.#eughh again this is all imo. I’m not trying to make people hate him or change their mind.#I’ll get into positives in the second post cause I’m running out of tags

It turned out that Dusknoir came from a future where time stopped after Temporal Tower collapsed and he tried to make sure no one would bring the Time Gears to the tower to prevent this because it would cause the timeline he came from to never happen in the first place, basically.

Holy goodness. So I was thinking more on the fact that the Hero, and everyone else from the Dark Future, dissappear as though they never had existed. Because they changed the future, and now the events that led to their lives no longer happen.
And it would create the mother of all grandfather paradoxes if their actions get reversed because they don't exist. That's just a given for the plot to happen.
But imagine what could come out of it if anyone without any kind of time-based shenaniganary (so pretty much just the partner) forget anyone from the future even existed? Because technically, they don't.
Imagine the fathomless guilt that the partner would feel for not only surviving Temporal Tower, but also being unable to remember the hero's name and face. Their memories of them having a dull haze in the opproximate shape of their best friend.
Its even worse for other people. Imagine the partner being told by Chatot that at least two people need to be on a team that's registered for two people. And the partner tells them that they do have a partner. Only being able to convince him after telling him to pull out the paperwork, because how do you convince someone that a person exists if you don't even know what pokemon they are, or what their name is? "That can't be right!? Someone must have foraged this! I've never heard of a [hero's name] before now! This doesn't make any sense..." And then having that fun experience be the reason why the partner even remembers their name.
Can you even say that Dusknoir irreparably shattered your trust in famous explorers, if everyone is convinced that what happened never even took place? To everyone else, it just seems that you woke up one morning and decided to be needlessly paranoid about getting betrayed.
Those scars look pretty gnarly. Where did you get them? ...Who's Grovyle? He has a wanted poster? Stole the time gears? That must be a mistake. The Time Gears have never been touched by anyone.
Did any of the last several years even happen? There is evidence that they did. Grovyle's wanted poster. The registration. Those things point to what happening, being true. But... Everyone else is just saying that those are accidents.
Were the people that effected your life, for better and for worse, ever real? There's no way that's the case...
Right? They have to be real. It couldn't have been just a dream or a hallucination. I felt that pain. I felt that desperation, love, friendship. That can't just be not true. It has to have happened. Because what would it mean if it didn't?

thinking about dusknoir. (again.)
thinking about dusknoir sitting back once he’s (presumably) released from dialga’s service and feeling lost. thinking about dusknoir wondering what on earth he’s going to do now that he’s free and still alive with a big bright beautiful world to explore. thinking about how intimidated he would be at the thought of facing the repercussions of his actions but willing to embrace it since he was given a second lease on life. thinking about him not expecting to find forgiveness from those he hurt for so long—but grovyle and celebi are far kinder than he deserves and he spends much of his time trying to earn it despite them telling him he needn’t do so.
thinking about how dusknoir just about kills himself trying to repay all the debts he feels that he owes. thinking about how he doesn’t really know how to function in a world that isn’t decrepit and dangerous. thinking about how grovyle and celebi have to remind him that they’re not really sure how to navigate it either but they’re all in it together, for better or for worse. thinking about dusknoir realizing at some point that he doesn’t need to put on airs anymore, that he could just be himself—that how sincere he was while in the past could translate now.
thinking about grovyle and celebi slowly learning the real him, beneath the mask and the bravado and the fear he’d clung to for so long. he’s courteous, he’s considerate, he’s kind—and his knowledge and experience certainly help them immensely while they travel. he grows protective of them so fast they’re suffering a little bit of emotional whiplash, seeing how ruffled he gets when strangers approach and he’s gauging whether they’re friends or foes. (arceus help anyone that decides to attack, rob, or deceive them—I don’t know of anyone who’d wittingly incur the blinding wrath of a 7’3” mercenary ghost-type.)
thinking about dusknoir taking the brunt of hits in mystery dungeons without flinching, not even hesitating to put his own health and safety at jeopardy for their sake, since they’re more prone to type disadvantages. he seems surprised when they do the same for him or scold him for putting himself in danger, not thinking for a moment that they’d be concerned for him still, after everything he did. it’s an adjustment they all have to work through, and he discovers that it feels…nice, to be fussed over. really nice, like he was worth something more than the blood he’d shed.
thinking about them being reunited with lu, seeing him older and wiser and settled. grovyle and celebi are overjoyed and dusknoir is exceedingly glad (if overwhelmed) to see the boy all grown up and prospering. lu almost attacks him but listens to grovyle and celebi’s reasoning, thankfully. it’s a slow and painstaking process, but they make up with time. eventually lu admits without as many words that he looks up to dusknoir as a father figure. after that they grow closer than ever and if dusknoir thinks about it too long he starts to tear up (no he’s just got something in his eye look away).
thinking about dusknoir having such conflicting feelings over eliana not being there—relief and disappointment in equal measure. he wants to reconcile with her like he has with lu, but at the same time he’s terrified of facing the layers of complexity that colored their relationship. he considered lu a ward of sorts, an apprentice, someone to give advice to. but eliana was his equal, his contemporary. he respected her more than even chatot or wigglytuff. she treated him like a normal person and for the first time in his life he knew what it meant to crave domesticity. she almost made him consider altering his ways—and that’s what had made her so dangerous. he wants what they had back so badly, but he knows that she has every right to hate him and never want to speak to nor lay eyes on him again.
thinking about them forming an exploration team. thinking about them deliberating over a name for several days, grovyle struggling and celebi arguing and dusknoir finally proposing ‘sunrise’ since it was so integral to all of their lives (but especially his in particular). they agree unanimously and it’s set in stone, and grovyle and celebi are a little surprised by his capacity for poeticism. they primarily take rescue and criminal apprehension missions and work up the ranks quickly. their name becomes revered through the whole continent and even the most hardened criminals hesitate to commit crimes anywhere relatively close to treasure town. (it doesn’t matter. they still hunt them down. they enjoy traveling, so it gives them an excuse to do so. dusknoir can keep their bounties in his belly so hauling them back in to Magnezone is no issue.)
thinking about how time passes. thinking about how he grows comfortable in his own skin, how he starts to heal and learn and grow, how he comes to he understand what it means to be (mostly) at peace with the world, with those for whom he is fondest, and himself. thinking about how he doesn’t feel any true closure until he can reconcile with eliana. thinking about how conflicted he feels just at the thought of seeing her again, but how badly he wants to. thinking about how he would dwell on it for so long that he’s surprised when she actually shows up.
he doesn’t fault her for attacking him, for mistrusting him, for not wanting to be in the same vicinity as him. but he tries—by Arceus, he tries so hard to win her back over. he craves her good opinion so terribly bc she was really the one that started his journey to redemption. he remembers those lengthy conversations and late nights researching (even if, by then, he’d been in the middle of realizing his plot—but it hadn’t been easy by any means, admittedly) and wants for nothing more than for her to confide in him again. he’ll take what he can get, but…perhaps he goes a bit overboard.
he does everything he can to help her around her periphery that wouldn’t immediately set her hackles to rise. he leaves items or books for her to find, keepsakes or rocks or flowers that remind him of her. he offers to help her when she needs it but backs off when she inevitably refuses. he doesn’t protest when she insists on exploring with grovyle or Celebi instead of him even though it might be more convenient (or safe) sometimes. he takes her passive-aggression and snide remarks and hostility without a single complaint, even when grovyle tries to intervene or mediate for his sake. he feels he deserves it. if it’s part of his reparations to pay in letting her work out her anger, he’ll endure it gladly.
and once he does win her trust again, he’s all in. he cares about all of them, but especially her, so so much it aches. he would sooner die than see her come to harm ever again. he’ll spend the rest of his life making sure he earns it over and over again. she’s worth that and so much more to him. she changed him, for the better. he owes her his life, everything.

DARKER DESTINIES IS SO COOL!! So Pip is in the Distortion World, right? Where is Chimchar during all this?
AAA TYSM 🥺
Yes! I’m calling it the Distorted Realm to make it kinda separate from canon Distortion World but it’s p much the same place/concept anyway.
Chimchar is freaking the fuck out because his girlfriend fell unconscious and will not wake up no matter what he does. He discusses it with Wigglytuff and Chatot and they all agree that whatever is going on with Pip doesn’t have anything to do with Darkrai, as they defeated him already and Pip doesn’t look like she’s trapped in a dream or a nightmare. (Cresselia also takes a look at her and confirms this.) Chimchar notices she’s very, VERY still, almost as if she’s dead, or if she’s…empty. Wigglytuff theorizes that this might be connected to souls, but the only person he knows that has a close connection with souls and guiding them to the afterlife is. Well. Dusknoir :’)
They’re all kind of at a loss from there bc A. They don’t know if Dusknoir’s even alive bc he was supposed to disappear when the future was changed and B. He’s a bitch and Chimchar doesn’t want to ask him for any favors ever. BUT Chimchar sees this as a good opportunity to go back to the future and see if Grovyle made it somehow, and let him know what’s going on with Pip. So the guild splits into two groups: one to stay behind and look after Pip (and also try to find any clues of their own about what’s wrong with her) and the other to go to the future and locate Grovyle and/or Dusknoir.
Basically this AU is a split POV between Pip, who’s having a helluva time in the Distorted Realm with the Depressed versions of her friends, and Chimchar, who is Getting the Gang Back Together to try and locate her! Ive been thinking more and more about making this into a hack and I think a split perspective would be SO much fun to script :’D

Ok. I have a few pmd sky AUs. Like, a couple. So.
Gijinkas lol
Special Episode 5 AU: Ive drawn this one before but Alana and Grovyle get switcherooed, so it’s Grovyle and Shinx doing Temporal Tower and Alana and Dusknoir bickering their way through the dark future. I’ve actually written some of this, only the parts with celebi tho
AU where Hero is raised by Team Charm in the past (idk how it would work logistically but just roll with it) and they get along like a house on fire with dusknoir bc they share the same polite mannerisms. Close relationship w wigglytuff and chatot by proxy
Tea shop au with @koiiqueen and @dawn-at-dusk where Dusknoir and Grovyle run a tea shop, avatar-style. All of our heroes and partners visit often. And celebi of course. Grovyle and Dusknoir make shitty business partners but it works out in the end for the lols
Roleswap AU: Grovyle woke up on the beach and Alana took his usual place. News starts circulating of a real flesh-and-blood human sighting and grovyle sees the posters at the guild and gets this funny feeling in his chest that he can’t explain. Shinx laughs him off but secretly Grovyle can’t shake it. When dusknoir shows he harbors instant dislike for his smug attitude even tho the other is eminently very nice to him. Also, shinx is smitten, which Grovyle can’t understand, but whatever. (This is mostly the same as alana in canon in my head lmfao). When alana runs into him in Crystal crossing she’s like YOU!!!! And he’s like Me? And alana is like I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU EVERYWHERE- and then dusknoir shows up and ruins everything

Chapter 19: In Which Cresselia Breaks Some Bad News
Twig didn’t know quite what to think of leaving Darkrai at the foot of the mountain. It was weirdly emotional, for one thing, but she could easily blame that on her being exhausted and therefore weirdly emotional just in general. But it was strange as well to get away from the heavy atmosphere that followed him everywhere he went. She had gotten used to it, almost like she had adapted to a deeper pressure of water while diving. Coming away from that left her feeling oddly achy and weak. Again, it was simple to blame that on various things— she was constantly on guard, wasn’t she? If she was always waiting for the moment Darkrai would turn on her, she was sure to have sore muscles and a headache from the tension she always held herself in. Dusknoir had mentioned a strange sort of sickness after getting away from Dialga for the first time in years, though, so maybe this was some kind of “mortal absconding from a Legend who radiates bad vibes” sort of deal.
The trip up the mountainside was chilly. Thankfully there weren’t any mystery dungeons to travel through, so it was a smooth journey, albeit bitingly, bitterly cold. Twig wished for the nth time that she was a true charmeleon instead of a human in a charmeleon’s skin. She’d give anything to be warm right now.
At least she wasn’t trekking through snow. The areas she and Kip had gone through during expeditions where it was full of snow and hail were by far her least favorite to work in. It honestly felt like she suffered more at the hands of the weather than any hostile pokemon they encountered.
Cresselia should be at the peak of the mountain. She just had to make it there, make it down, and then she could trek home and sleep for a week straight.
Twig finally scaled to the point of the mountain and found a shrine at its head— one sequestered away in a cave with torches that burned a warm fire that alternated between pure white, deep blue, and warm gold. The shrine was decorated with crescents carved into the rock and a wooden arch that made up its entry. It gave off an atmosphere of serenity and calm. Twig stared up at the shrine in awe.
Yep. This seemed like the kind of place a Legend would like to hang out. She stepped inside.
Cresselia was deep within the shrine, past numerous carvings in the stone walls depicting ancient events that Twig had a feeling were long gone from written memory. She hung in the air as though pinned in place, radiating gentle light that made the torches keeping the area lit seem dull and dark in comparison. Her back was to Twig, head bowed in deep meditation— or maybe sleep, but Twig might just be projecting.
“Hey, Cresselia? I—”
The Legend whirled around, feathers bristling at the interruption as she rose further off the ground. Her voice seemed to take on a chorus of echoes as she boomed, “Who dares intrude upon this sacred ground? You should know better than to enter unwelcome, foolish—”
She paused as she took in Twig’s cowering form.
“Oh! Twig! It’s been quite some time, hasn’t it? How have the years treated you?”
She cleared her throat and straightened up, encouraged by Cresselia’s sudden shift in friendliness. “I’ve been pretty normal. Could I have a lunar feather? And, uh, maybe ask you to fix my head?”
Cresselia tilted her head, eyes turning sorrowful. “I thought I sensed nightmares clinging to you. You came to the right Legend. But why ask if I could fix your head? Have you suffered some sort of injury?”
“Oh, um—” She paused, embarrassment warming her face. “I just. Uh. I heard through the grapevine that you can heal emotional wounds, and…” Thanks, Chatot! The one time you didn’t peer review your gossip…
The Legend bowed her head in sorrow. “No, I cannot heal such things. Only ailments, physical wounds, and their scars. Are you well, Twig? For what reason have you sought me to heal a thing I cannot?”
I’m so stupid. Oh gosh, I’m so stupid. I’m stuck like this forever. I’m stuck remembering things I don’t want to, I’m stuck freaking out about stuff that doesn’t matter, I’m stuck as a burden that nobody should have to keep around, I’m—
“… Would you like me to heal the scar on your arm, at the very least?”
Twig was jolted out of her mental spiral by that. “Huh?”
“The scar on your arm. Shall I heal it? You came to me for healing as well as a feather. I would hate to send you away with only one half of your purposes fulfilled.”
Hesitantly, she put out her arm for Cresselia to take. The Legend’s paws were warm as she accepted her arm and rested one over the offending scar. The air went taut with a sudden energy as Cresselia murmured some kind of incantation that Twig couldn’t discern the words of, but which felt like a lullaby older than bones. Light erupted about them, and the energy buzzed through her hand, approaching the pesky scar…
… And fizzled out, the scar itself unchanged.
Cresselia furrowed her brow, and tried again— murmuring the incantation and gleaming brightly, but the energy once again dispersed without any hint of the scar lightening. “Impossible,” she breathed.
“Ah, don’t worry about it. I hardly notice the thing these days,” Twig said, taking away her arm and flexing her fingers. They tingled with the leftover energy still flitting about her nerves. “Besides, it’s not even that bad. I’ve had way worse scars as a charmander. Those things were ugly—”
“Have you ever gone through an illness of extreme severity, Twig?” Cresselia suddenly asked, voice grave and solemn. “Or perhaps suffered an injury that just wouldn’t heal properly?”
“What are you…? Why are you so curious all of a sudden?”
“Answer me.”
“I mean, I guess? At one point I was really sick and started getting these awful bruises all along my middle. Couldn’t eat or drink for days because of the pain. And then my arm broke out in this weird burn that eventually turned into this thing—” She indicated the scar on her arm. “—Once it got super infected. Apparently I got blood poisoning from it. Honestly, I don’t remember the order of events that well, I was in a coma for most of it. Why do you want to know?”
Cresselia stared at Twig as though she was witnessing a living corpse shambling about before her. “You shouldn’t be alive.”
She frowned. “What?”
“Do you know of curses, Twig?”
“What, like the ghost-type move?”
“No, these are entirely distinct from that, though the mortal move was developed in a deliberate imitation.” She pulled Twig’s arm into gentle paws once more, examining the scar above her wrist. “A curse is a blow that can only be inflicted by a Legend. It is an attack so base that it enlists the assistance of the universe that we govern in dealing a fate most painful and instantaneous. You should not be alive, because the workings of the world around you were instructed to kill you. If your heart did not seize, your lungs should have failed to draw breath, or your blood cease to flow.” She looked up at her, kind features turning steely. “Is the most obvious suspect the one I can assume who tried to kill you in such a manner?”
(In Dark Crater, Kip was knocked asife by a heavy blow from an illusory pokemon. Darkrai saw the opportunity to strike, and shot forward to finish the job. Twig sent a wave of fire up in his path to buy herself time and launched herself before where Kip was collapsed and bleeding to shield him. Darkrai reared back as flames kicked up before him and used the shadows they cast to his advantage, disappearing and remanifesting at her side, knocking her to the ground with a swift blow to the stomach. He turned to Kip once more, and Twig caught the shadowy train at his back and threw him to the ground as well. He caught her arm as he righted himself, crushing it in a vicious grip and throwing her across the chamber. Cresselia cried out, cornered in her own unfair fight and unable to assist. Nobody was coming to save her, so Twig pushed past the agony tearing through her veins and stood, struggling to get her feet under herself and resume the fight. She had to save Kip. She had to reach him.
(She was so focused on getting to her partner that she didn’t notice Darkrai’s shock when she rose up after being grabbed.)
Twig didn’t answer, staring down at the scar as she yanked her arm out of Cresselia’s ginger hold.
“The distortion associated with you likely saved your life. A being crucial to the function of the universe demanded that it kill you instantly, yet you were such a point of confusion for it that you not only went days without suffering the ill-effects of a curse, you ultimately survived.”
“… Darkrai is back.”
Cresselia leaned in. “Pardon?”
“He’s back.” Twig cleared her throat, struggling to speak above a whisper. “Darkrai is back. He’s alive. He’s got amnesia, but he’s alive, and he’s living with me. He’s at the base of the mountain right now.”
“I was aware of his survival and his memory loss, but… Pardon?”
Twig relayed the details of how she encountered Darkrai in Mount Travail— her fears of his memories returning as her own had before, her willingness to do anything to keep her loved ones safe— and Cresselia listened in shocked silence.
“Funny, isn’t it,” she murmured after a long silence, “that it is a mortal who assumes my role of his minder after all this time.”
“What?”
Cresselia shook herself, motes of light drifting off of her form. “It was a long time ago, Twig, but Darkrai was not always so vile of a being— he was even kinder and gentler than I. Yet times changed, and he changed for the worse.”
“I… I don’t get it.” She furrowed her brow, frowning. “What do you mean? What are you trying to say? I get that he’s different now. That’s pretty obvious. He’s not exactly throwing kids into endless nightmares anymore, you know.”
“I have a story to tell you, Twig. One of nightmares and dreams, and longing and betrayal.” Cresselia turned to the carvings in the shrine walls, misty-eyed and sorrowful. “It was many years ago, when the moon’s phases were new to worship…”

STALEEEEE BEEB!💛 i would love to hear more mha pokemon teams!! whatever you wanna share :3
Implodes into a million pieces. I have waited so long for this.
Gonna just focus on my personal faves or I will be here forever.
All these are with the idea that they're "standard" pokemon trainers, because I didn't want to be constricted to type-based teams for elite four members or Gym leaders. I also think for pro-hero characters, being famous pokemon trainers, their teams rotate from time-to-time.
Hawks' team,
Tumblr media
Braviary is his signature/partner pokemon, they grew up together! Talonflame can be swapped out for Corviknight, which makes more sense to me since its weak to fire like the rest of his team.
Heres Toga! (top) and Twice (bottom)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I might revise these but Mimikyu and Ditto fit them both really well.. so.. they both get them. Also Luvdisc can be swapped out for Tinkaton. Mawlie is Toga's signature/first partner pokemon, and Mimikyu is Twice's, but his first partner pokemon was Dugtrio. Its important to me that he had a Sylveon since they evolve with friendship.
Dabi
Tumblr media
Not much to say here. His first pokemon was a litten that he wont evolve past torracat. Alolan Marowak is his signature... and look at that.. an ice type pokemon..
Miruko, Present Mic and Best Jeanist. I feel like these are pretty self-explanatory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I did only put manectric on Mic's team because of its hair. Mic's signature is Exploud, Miruko's is Machamp, and Jeanist's is Meowstic OR Pheromosa.. which can be swapped out with Scrafty or Primarina. Wobbuffet can be swapped with Chatot.
Lady Nagant!
um.. yeah 3 of them have guns basically, this is her post-disappearing from the media team (In the pokemon AU that lives in my brain, she ends up quitting as a trainer, but comes back, joining a sinister organization to mirror her role in the dark hero arc. so her original team didn't have Dusknoir on it)
Tumblr media
Oh my god. this is long. gonna end this here because I have So Many Thoughts

More on that Ninetales concept
In the game there are two versions, the Ninteales that shows up on the volcano of Cobalt Coastals and the ones in Alabaster Icelands. The version of the Ninetales that you transform into depends on your personality, if you're a head strong trainer with a lot of passion for adventuring then you'd probably be the og Ninetales (fire type). But on the other hand if you like taking things slow and look at things in another perspective then you're the Alolan version of Ninetales (ice type). Perhaps you could become a mixter of the two or something completely different.
Honestly I really like the og Ninetales but I've always thought that the tails were kinda boring, so perhaps sprinkle some of that Alolan type Ninetales into it and it would look great, also because I like the fluff.
Now for something more personal, remember the four star badges that would give you the ability of four pokemon with no other pokemon has? Yeah it's about that.
First off is Zoroark, because you know shapeshifting.
Second of all is Lucario's ability to sense someone's presence from miles oway (and to an extent their patience).
Next up is Chimecho, although their voice is mainly used as a weapon and in hindsight Chatot would probably be better, I still like the idea of sounding like I'm carrying chimes wherever I go. It brings a sort of mystery, besides I don't need to mimic human speech to understand it.
And the last one, Dusknoir. Dusknoir guides souls to the afterlife, even though it isn't very helpful in a world where survival is harsh. I think it builds character and is a fun callback to when the player went around collecting wisps, it also shows that I can be benevolent despite my nature.
And now for my pokemon, as i've said before that you'd get your pokemons powers but i've decided to make it so i can only use one of their types, so if they have multiple then i must choose one. Also since there's six stats I've chosen from my pokemon which ones to use.
Gengar: 312 speed: Ghost
Carnivine: 232 defence: Grass
Samurott: 347 HP: Dark
Rapidash: 244 attack: Fier
Luxray: 243 sp. Def: Electric
Beautifly: 199 sp. Atk: Bug
Like you said about becoming a trickster god it wouldn't be too far from the kitsune's nature. They are known to trick the unlucky few which can range from mischief to malevolence, specifically overly proud samurai, greedy merchants and boastful commoners. On another note, sorry if I was unclear, you don't need to be in another form to deal that much damage, though it is a fun idea and a great part trick, too bad you'd probably not get invited to any considering your track record. Otherwise you would bring in the same energy as Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty whenever you show up unprompted.
Another thing is that if you were killed in exile then who's gonna save the day? Sure, you might have been resurrected but that's not gonna motivate you to get up and do something about the red sky. So what if instead of you doing it alone you become a sort of guide for the rival, teach them the ways and strategies that you once used. I mean Nine tailed foxes are credited to have infinite wisdom and the Ninetales in game is based off the fox spirit so it isn't too presumptuous to think that it would be too far off. But instead of lets say, knowledge of the great beyond its more about the world in general and how it works. Besides, if you knew about the vast unknown it would be hell to communicate it when you can't speak, even in a human body.
Oh! This is interesting! It's a good read (❁´◡`❁)
ngl i'm still interested in the idea of becoming a Trickster god of sorts if you were killed during exile. You no longer really care for most the people, but you still hold a few close to your heart. Your rival, Ingo, Cyllene, Professor Laventon... The only people who really seemed to care about you before your demise. The only ones that were good friends for you, besides your own pokemon. So you don't bother to save the day, but you also don't want the world to be destroyed either. You live here, after all. So you guide your rival here and there. They have the potential to become a hero that Hisui had needs. You silently protect the other few who were there for you. The others though? Depending on who it is, you either leave them be, help guide every so often, or straight up lead them astray. Adaman and Irida? The wardens, besides Ingo? Kamado? They all have your ire now. Add that to the idea of having similar abilities to your other pokemon, you'd be a real force to be reckoned with...
Thank you for the fun submission! ヾ(•ω•`)o

since ur doing the character meme *drops chatot in front of you and runs away*
send me a character!
first impression
iirc I first saw a chatot (like the pokemon) in platinum when i was like. 8. 9? and my first impression was just "this is a silly looking bird and i like him so much"
impression now
I LIKE HIM SO MUCH. story stuff aside i tend to really like characters that are really stuffy and uptight (affectionate) and i love how his personality plays off the rest of the guild crew + how much he cares for everyone esp. the protags near the end of the game
favorite moment
brine cave ofc. both for how much chatot really cares about the protags and how this wasn't even the first time he did that sort of thing
idea for a story
HMM. i'm definitely of the mind that if anyone would succeed wigglytuff once he and chatot hit retirement age, it's bidoof, potentially after evolving into bibarel. so i'd like to see a story where they hand it off to him proper and assure him he's perfect for the job.
unpopular opinion
i like him. he's silly and i like him.
favorite relationship
def with protag, but specifically with my characterization of them (so, with isko) that despite the mess at apple woods they like him in a way that a kid goes "i like this teacher. i'm going to go bug this teacher in good nature at every opportunity".
i need to get back on re-animating this bit but as i mentioned on twitter, if anyone asked how i'd summarize them, it'd be this clip of eda and bump.
favorite headcanon
going off how he goes "so you're telling me dusknoir was a vicious and vile pokemon all along?" (paraphrased) after you get back and partner goes "uh, no that's not what i said" when he really believed the team all along... i think when the future trio makes it back to the past (seeing as how they're in pmd4) chatot would FUME seeing dusknoir. peck him on sight.
the protags have long graduated but he's still protective of them. his prized recruits they are

If Celebi were to make an appearance in a possible EoD sequel, what would it look like? Would she revert back into her jolly self after Myra was slain or would she still be the only normal but out of her mind after being trapped in a future with zero life, a purgatory with no paths, a heaven with no god, a hell with no devil, a clean mind but no sanity? Just curious, considering I did think of it before this question.
Tumblr media
i feel as though you may have given celebi waaay more thought than i have, haha.
the appearances of the treasure townsfolk and grovyle were only added in as a bit of fanservice to the fans who actually played explorers of sky.
but the story and world itself is only really meant to center around myra, squirtle and shadow.
so, i did not give much consideration to the missing extras, such as chatot, skuntank, dusknoir, or the aforementioned celebi, because i do not believe that they would contribute to the dynamic of the main three, or add anything substantial to the story as a whole. anyone outside of treasure town may as well not even exist.
Tumblr media
you are welcome to creating headcanons about the missing extras, but i do not have any official thoughts on the matter.
i think if myra was slain, however, the game would be forced to reset and squirtle would be able to take her place as the hero, restoring the world to “normal.” celebi, along with everyone else, would go back to their usual selves without any memory of the horrors that occurred.

He gets sent to deliver some paperwork to the Guild in Twig's place after she couldn't make it herself. Chaos ensues.

Sunflora warms up to Ark quickly, much to his chagrin.
Tumblr media
Chatot, meanwhile, immediately brings up his worries with Wigglytuff.

Oh oh, thoughts on... Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? (favorite parts, favorite characters, general thoughts...)
Mystery Dungeon my BELOVED. First and foremost, I have to say they're just a great set of games and I'd highly recommend them to anyone out there.
This is basic to say, but the best set of games are Explorers. After that, the best games are Gates, Rescue Team, and then Super. Super isn't bad, though. I just have a lot of problems with its story in that it didn't really click for me. I also think Rescue Team is a lot weaker than people make it out to be. Gates easily outclasses it story (Not gameplay) wise and the only reason I ranked it above Super is because I like Gengar and his lore.
My favorite character is easily Grovyle, because: again, I'm a basic bitch. I also really like all of the Partner characters, especially the one from Explorers. I know Chatot gets a lot of hate, but I think he's funny as shit. Dusknoir, though, is even funnier. Funniest character ever invented, maybe. I love him. From other games, I'm a HUGE fan of Hydregion, Deerling, and Gengar.
Turtwig is the best partner and no-one will convince me otherwise. Just LOOK AT HIM.
Some of the scenes I really like are the disappearing scenes (Especially from Gates, Explorers, and Super), the scene with Grovyle and the Partner watching the sunrise in Explorers, Grovyle, Dusknoir, and Celebi 'dying,' Grovyle explaining his reason for fighting to Dusknoir, and the entire climax of Gates. There are probably even more really good scenes I'm forgetting, though, and so that's just off of the top of my head.
I hope we get a new game soon. Though I'm a bit torn on what I want. On one hand, it'd be nice to get a completely new game with a completely new story and starters (I'd FINALLY like to use Popplio in a PMD game), but on the other hand, I think I'd cry tears of joy if I saw Explorers in the DX art style. (I'm not necessarily sure it's BETTER than the Explorers/pixel art style, but I like it a lot. I'm glad they seem to have found a style that works, because the 3d art style of Gates and Super was NOT working. The picture book look is much better for PMD.)
···
I would die for every character in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon willingly :)

Pmd headcanons that no one asked for because I have 0 self control 👉👉
Also these have no specific order, they're all over the place, and I'm not sorry
Bidoof and Jirachi are friends and visit eachother sometimes, although it doesn't happen super often because Jirachi is almost always tired/asleep
Dusknoir and Grovyle used to spar together before things went bad, so they both know each others tricks (though there are still certain moves that they have trouble dealing with, such has Grovyles ability to escape tight spaces)
Celebi has tiny little fae fangs because I said so
Chatot has a habit of perching on Wigglytuff's head
Armaldo? You mean Wigglytuff's adoptive uncle?
Armaldo has passed away by the time the main events of the game are happening, and Wigglytuff makes it a habit to visit his burial sight. Sometimes Chatot will accompany her and she'll tell him about all sorts of adventures they had together.
Chatot and Wigglytuff will occasionally stay up and discuss different things that are going on, or tell stories.
Crogunk was a criminal before he joined the guild
Crogunk, Chimecho, and Dugtrio are usually the ones who watch the guild if the others go out on an expedition
Sunflora has a crush on Loudred (but shh, don't tell anyone)
Chimecho is basically the guild's mom
Team Charm was what got Wigglytuff back into exploring with others, one of their adventures lead to her meeting Chatot and forming a guild
Team Charm will randomly visit the guild, mostly to get jobs, but they also visit with Wigglytuff and bond with some of the guild members, like Sunflora
Darkrai has talked to Dusknoir before, helping solidify that whole "gotta murder the good guys" thing (he also occasionally pops up in his nightmares)
Chatot and Wigglytuff are Manaphy's uncle/aunt/grandpa/grandma/whatever now I don't make the rules
Hero and partner almost always take Manaphy on adventures with them, once Manaphy is ready for them
Even when Manaphy leaves, Hero still has a habit of buying blue gummies from the Klecleon brothers
Dusknoir got to see the sunrise with Celebi and Grovyle and did NOT disappear just a second before it happened
Celebi and Dusknoir, weirdly enough, get along really well after everything happens
Grovyle and Dusknoir are capable of having civil conversations, even before they decide to team up. It's just not very likely to happen-
Dusknoir gives the best hugs (good luck getting him to give you one)
Also this is kind of canon but Dusknoir & the Sableye care a great deal for eachother
Future trio has trauma and tend to get jumpy whenever they're around Dialga
The legendaries will occasionally host little get togethers (both for fun and to make sure that things aren't exploding)
Sometimes they'll have honored guests at said get togethers, so Grovyle, Celebi, and Dusknoir get to meet a couple of them. (So do Partner & Hero, in their respective timeline)
Dusknoir & Grovyle play chess together, sometimes Celebi will join in for a three way chess battle, which is almost always chaotic and somehow she almost always wins.
Celebi has a habit of leaning on Dusknoir's head or holding Grovyle's head leaf.
Hero can kind of read the Unown alphabet
This goes for all of the games, but Hero & Partner are just reincarnated (though they can change genders and pokemon and all that, of course)
