Straw hats x cat! reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You were just playing around in your room and one of your spells made you a temporary cat. request=open requested: <yes> <no> wc: 1,120 ft: straw hats
Tumblr media
⭑First of all, Luffy would call out your name EVERYWHERE.
⭑If you didn't respond, he would use his Gum-Gum Fruit to climb the crow's nest.
⭑But, sadly, he didn’t see u. But instead, a small cat sitting on top of the merry’s head.
⭑He’d used his gum-gum powers to go to the cat and would tilt his head to the side due to confusion.
⭑But no worries since he’d smile and try to pet the cat.
⭑Would honestly forget about you and would just wanna play with the cat (which IS technically you...)
⭑The next day though, he'd try to look at the cat again (HE WANTS TO PLAY!!).
⭑Though when he saw you, he'd be happy again!
⭑Would invite you to look for the cat with him but give up 5 minutes later.
Tumblr media
⭑You promised Zoro to spar with him after lunch.
⭑However, when he arrived at the crow's nest, a cat was waiting for his arrival.
⭑He won't pay mind to the sitting cat, instead, he'd use that time to train.
⭑But, the sun is starting to set and the cat hasn't moved an inch. He's getting pissed.
⭑Would mumble a curse and say stupid. But the cat meowed at him.
⭑He FINALLY looked at the cat and said, "What?"
⭑You'd growl at him and scratch his pants.
⭑He was honestly deciding to kick you but noticed your similar features and FINALLY REALIZED.
⭑Would laugh at you and pet you. He also realized that he likes cuddling with you!
Tumblr media
⭑Poor man, save Sanji from this hell.
⭑When he didn't see u in the dining hall eating, he was worried.
⭑Would asked Robin and Nami if they saw you, but both the girls said no.
⭑After everyone left to do whatever and Sanji finally overcame his breakdown, he saw a small cat standing at the center of the table.
⭑He was honestly angry at first. Who's cat is this? And don't they know that they shed a lot!?
⭑But when he took a closer look at you and a super deep inhaling, he finally realized it was you.
⭑"Is that really you, Y/n?" he said.
⭑You meowed back, happy that Sanji recognized you immediately.
⭑He'd pet you and hug you (He wanna spend time with you ok? Especially if ur taller than him. NOW HE'S LARGER >:))
⭑The rest of the day was just u sleeping on the counter, occasionally getting pets from him.
Tumblr media
⭑You were hanging around Nami's tangerine trees, trying to hide from the sun.
⭑She finally finished drawing the last island that you guys went to. So, of course, she wanted to rest for a while.
⭑And what better way to do it than to eat one of her tangerines?
⭑She took a step forward but was blocked. She looked down and saw a little kitty sleeping.
⭑She cooed on the sleeping cat and picked it up gently, scared to awaken it.
⭑Nami would then go to her office and lay you on her desk, admiring your sleeping form.
⭑She would take a piece of paper to put every question she has for you and try to communicate with you.
⭑When she finally noticed that the cat was you, SHE WAS SQUEALING!
⭑She was kinda sad that you can't turn into a cat at will though.
Tumblr media
⭑Ussop was bored and was just walking on the green grass.
⭑Suddenly he tripped and fell. He then would look back and notice a cat sleeping.
⭑The cat, who was formally sleeping stretched its body.
⭑Ussop, honestly, was scared at first. He WAS sure there wasn't anything lying around. But when he turned around, he sent out a relief of sigh.
⭑"It was just a cat," he had thought, "WHAT IS A CAT DOING HERE?"
⭑Bro was shaking. Though you just glared at Ussop, disturbing your sleep.
⭑Would sit down and play with you.
⭑Bro exhausted you and got you back to your human form quicker than 24 hrs.
⭑W Ussop
Tumblr media
⭑Chopper was reading a book in his office when he heard some scratching on the other side of the door.
⭑Chopper opened the door and saw you frowning.
⭑He immediately recognized it was you. From your features to your smell.
⭑When I tell you his eyes were sparkling, it was SPARKLING.
⭑He invited you to his office and tried to talk to you. Since he was an animal by heart, it was the easiest to talk to him.
⭑You honestly had a good fun chat with Chopper.
⭑He told you fun facts about cats and how they used to be worshipped.
⭑Honestly, 10/10. Just come to Chopper.
Tumblr media
⭑Robin was just hanging around the deck of the merry. Reading as she pleased.
⭑Until she heard some meowing beside her.
⭑She looked down and saw a cat. Though it was her first time seeing it, she felt a sense of familiarity.
⭑"Y/n?" she spoke.
⭑You meowed back, happy that Robin noticed you.
⭑She made a few jokes about you staying like that forever. (It made u scared and u started meowing faster.)
⭑Robin chuckled and used her devil fruit to tickle you.
⭑And from exhaustion, it made you turn back to normal. YEY!!
⭑Now, whenever someone from the crew gets turned into a cat, Robin just needs to exhaust them, and they'll turn back to normal.
Tumblr media
⭑You were gonna surprise Franky 'bout being turned into a cat.
⭑You weren't looking in your direction and fell into a massive tub of cola.
⭑Franky saw you and used his mini hands to save you.
⭑You stuck your tongue out to the cyborg man who was in a state of confusion.
⭑"Owh! Y/n! This is SUPPPERRRR weird!" he said.
⭑He'd honestly play with you in your cat form. I mean, he's superrr excited!!
⭑He also got u back on ur normal form. YEY!!
Tumblr media
⭑Brook felt something heavy on top of his head.
⭑He tried taking off his hat and feeling his hair, but nothing was there.
⭑It's when Brook lost his balance and you fell on his hands. (Thanks to his great reflexes)
⭑You had a smug face when you saw the skeleton's shocked face.
⭑He'd just forget about it and make a welcoming song for you though.
Tumblr media
⭑Jimbei was just steering the ship when he heard meowing behind him.
⭑He saw a cat that was sitting down.
⭑Jimbei thought that it was somebody's pet. And since he was the newest person in the crew, he had no right to throw the cat.
⭑He picked you up and put you on his shoulders. The clean breeze hitting your fur.
⭑You fell asleep on his shoulders and woke up on your bed, feeling a sense of exhaustion on your hands and legs.

Yandere Straw Hat Pirates Headcanons (Platonic)
❝ — 👒 lady l: This is, by far, the biggest headcanon I've ever written and I confess that I'm very satisfied with the result! I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes!! ❤️
❝tw: possessive and obsessive behavior, overprotection, unhealthy platonic relationships, and implied murder.
❝👒pairing: platonic!yandere straw hat pirates x gender neutral!reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Straw Hats are a really different crew of pirates than the rest. There is no direct hierarchy between them, they respect each other and have affection for each other. Although they obey their captain, there is no tyranny between them but genuine friendship and care.
You were a resident of a small and little-known island in the East Blue, it wasn't really important or rich, so pirate activity was very uncommon there and you were grateful for that. Having grown up and taught that pirates are bad and everyone is a murderer and thieve, you had no desire to meet one.
You were a very calm person and lived humbly and peacefully and liked the way your life was. Until the day pirates arrived on your island. You were immediately alarmed, as were the other residents by their arrival, except that they were not ordinary pirates but the Straw Hats and your life took an unexpected turn.
They arrived and, contrary to the stories your parents told you, they didn't seem threatening or murderous but rather good people. This caught your attention and you were kind to them and even offered them food. Little did you know, that was your biggest mistake.
Their captain, Monkey D. Luffy, found himself attracted to you and he knew he wanted you to join his crew. When you politely declined the offer, he was determined to convince you to accept. He met with the other members and they all agreed with him.
It wasn't easy to get you to accept becoming a pirate, considering you never liked them, but you found yourself attracted to the offer. The idea of being completely free and being able to see the world was what made you accept, albeit reluctantly, Luffy's offer. You have officially become a member of the Straw Hats.
Monkey D. Luffy is very charismatic and funny, kind and a great friend. You adored him and respected him as your captain. Luffy was so pleasant to be around that you never really observed him closely as his actions are quite selfish towards you.
He is selfless, but Luffy still has a selfish side and doesn't want to share his attention with anyone. He is not possessive, but controlling. Luffy wants to know everything about you, where you're going, who you're with and what you've done. He demands to know and will get angry if he doesn't know. Luffy watches over you a lot, not only as your captain, but as his friend. He just wants to make sure that you are happy and satisfied with your friends and, most importantly, with yourself.
Roronoa Zoro, although a little more distant, has a troubled affection for you. He's not close and has that air of arrogance around you, which made you think he doesn't like you. But the truth is that he doesn't know how to deal with you, with the feelings he has. So he thinks it's best to stay away, fearing for his own sanity.
But Zoro can't do it. He wants to be close to you and he will, his main reason is when he feels jealous of your closeness to the rest. He doesn't want to be left aside, so he decides to become close to you. Zoro is possessive and arrogant, he wants to be preferred and feels jealous when someone steals his attention. He's not very easy to deal with, but Zoro knows how to be nice when he wants to be. He is very overprotective and will fight anyone to protect you, including his own friends.
Nami is relaxed and fun, she likes to take you to have fun with her, usually to drink. She is very persuasive and manipulative, you can hardly say no to her. Nami is cunning and doesn't usually get into fights, preferring to let her friends get involved, but for you, she won't care and will get into fights to protect you.
She wants to be your favorite, your number one and the one you go to for comfort or guidance. Nami is very worried about you and cares a lot about your well-being, she gets easily upset when you are sad or angry, and will take satisfaction from anyone who hurt you. However, she will not recognize if she is the cause.
Usopp is very anxious and insecure, although he tries his best not to show it, there is no denying that he feels very bad about himself often and will count on you to pull himself together. He is very sentimental and is easily hurt and will be furious if it is you who hurt him, but will become unbearable if someone makes you sad.
He loses his cool very easily and cries so easily it's ridiculous and Usopp will always go to you for comfort. He values you so much and it will get to the point where he will pretend to be sad just to receive any form of affection from you, he lives for that. He has no qualms about lying to have you hug him or whisper words of comfort to him.
Sanji is calm and rational, always very polite and it is very rare to see him lose his calm. He is very careful around you and loves to load you up with food, cooking your favorites and prioritizing you at every meal. Sanji is very nice and always makes you laugh, loving to hear you laugh or smile. He makes you feel comfortable around him, with his unwavering politeness and calm.
He never acts without thinking and everything he does is carefully planned, especially when it's about you. Sanji is the one who takes care of you the most and is always checking up on you, whether it's listening to you talk or watching you, he never fails and is always calm and smiling. Although he is very kind, Sanji will have no problem having to deal with anyone who dares to harm or hurt you.
Tony Tony Chopper is very kind and attached to you, more than he is to Nami. He is very shy at first, preferring to hide and watch you from afar, fascinated by you but afraid to get closer. He loves to imitate you and takes care of you, especially when you are hurt and need medical attention, often freaking out before realizing he is a doctor.
He is a great friend, very fair and loyal, constantly following you and making sure you are well and comfortable. Although he doesn't feel as comfortable with humans, the affection and care he feels for you is undeniable. He smiles and dances happily when he is praised by you.
Franky loves to flirt with you and does it constantly, even if he is just joking. He loves showing off for you and does it very often, going shirtless around you and trying to get your attention. Franky is a spirit and loves breaking the rules and will try to convince you to break them with him, he is always encouraging you to do what you want without caring what you think.
Although he acts this way, Franky is very protective and kind towards you and knows when to act maturely around you and is always trying to make you smile because he loves your smile. He takes great care of you and is selfless to the extreme, always putting himself first when you are in danger. Franky wants you to be well and happy and he will go to extreme lengths to make sure you are safe and happy.
Brook is eccentric and a shameless pervert and he flirts and hits on you more than anyone and feels no shame or regret in doing so. However, he truly enjoys your company and is kind to you, always prioritizing your wants and needs above anyone else's. He despises meanness and will go against anyone who is mean or acts wrong towards you.
He is very fair and compassionate towards everyone, but when it comes to you, there is an obvious preference and care. Brook is very polite, but he has his limits and will become furious if something happens to you. He has his morals and is empathetic, but that quickly changes when you get involved.
Robin is the calmest of the crew, always calm and reserved, it's impossible to know what she's thinking and she's not as open or transparent as the others. She rarely shows her emotions and this reflects on the way she acts towards you. Robin is very calm in her obsession and no one will be able to notice what she feels for you, her feelings are very well disguised and controlled.
It's very rare to see her lose her cool or get angry and when that happens, everyone gets scared. Robin has become less calm after meeting you and she, although reserved about her feelings, will make a point of taking care of you and showing you all the care and affection she can offer you.
Jinbe is very proud to be a fishman and has great honor. He hates pirates, even though he is one. He has mixed feelings for you, he admires you but hates the fact that you're a pirate and doesn't usually spend so much time by your side, but he cares deeply for you in his own way.
He is not dangerous and will never hurt you or show any violence towards you, he wants to take care of you and will do so in any way he can. Jinbe is very kind and tries his best to make you happy.
The Straw Hats are very overprotective of you and everyone cares and cares in their own specific way, but what they all have in common is the care and affection they have for you. They will fight anyone who thinks of causing you any kind of harm. After all, you are a member of the crew and they will take great care of you.

It took the better part of a year, but I've finally figured out where to go with Joyride. A lot of people have been asking for this, so I hope it lives up to your expectations.
Joyride (Part 2)
Part 1
Yandere Ace x GN Isekai Reader
4.8k words
Warning! This contains pretty much every Ace related spoiler btw!
When going into a world you already know everything about, you don’t exactly expect to be surprised by anything. Sure, there will be slight changes and alternate interactions now that you’ve been unceremoniously dropped in, but you had been anticipating for the story to follow all the same beats.
Which is why you were really thrown off when Ace didn’t go his separate way when he was supposed to.
Luffy had succeeded in defeating Crocodile and stopping his plan for dictatorship of Alabasta, but Ace was still here. Granted, having Ace around was hardly the worst thing that could happen, but you didn’t understand what was going on with him.
After your downright bizarre interaction during the little joyride he took you on, you’d honestly had every intention of avoiding him going forward. Then he threw a curveball at you by sincerely apologizing later that night. With everything going on right now he just got a little carried away, that’s all, he won’t harass you about it again. Or so he claimed.
You were skeptical initially, but true to his word, he hasn’t brought up you joining the Whitebeard Pirates since. Between that, and him having an unknown advantage over you by being a favorite character of yours, it was easy to find it within yourself to forgive him. You two have been borderline inseparable since, much to the chagrin of your crewmates.
While Ace hadn’t openly made further attempts to convince you to join his pops’ crew, he’d found a thinly veiled loophole in the form of telling you all kinds of stories about them. You knew this was in and of itself, a method to win you over, but deemed it not worth calling out. Besides, who were you to refuse the opportunity to get some Whitebeard Pirates lore?
There were many late nights filled with quiet conversations about various shenanigans the crew got up to in their free time, of which there were many. An unsurprising fact because of course having that many sibling jam packed onto a ship would turn it into a vessel of chaos.
If you had a weaker resolve, these stories might have won you over. But no, you need to go home.
Even though you weren’t convinced on switching crews, or even just staying here, there was a different problem arising from all your quality time together.
The longer you spoke and goofed around with him, the deeper and more intricate the conversations became, the more human he became to you. Or course, he’d technically always been a human being, but your mind had always registered him (as well as everyone else here) as a “character” first and foremost. A figure in a fictional story which you just so happened to be in temporarily.
Now? After spending so much time with him, aftering seeing him make decisions based off his own experiences and preferences rather than being dictated by some omnipotent author, things have changed. He wasn’t Portgas D. Ace, the fan favorite character from One Piece. He was just Ace, your friend.
With this came something you never saw coming. Guilt. An all consuming, agonizing guilt that picked away at you every single second of the day.
You knew what was to come. You knew what was going to happen to him. What were you doing about it? Absolutely nothing. And for what? For the sake of preserving a story that’s already been altered from your mere presence?
What a disgusting excuse of a friend you were.
The internal conflict you were going through hadn’t gone unnoticed, not when it was taking such a high toll on you. Nami was the first to start grilling you on it. Naturally, she immediately started pointing fingers at Ace as being the cause, which while not wrong, she wasn’t correct in the way she believed herself to be either. It was hardly his fault that you had a heavy conscience.
Sanji had also picked up on your struggles and was very concerned about the bags under your eyes, even offering to make some tea to assist with sleeping. An offer you turned down perhaps more harshly than truly necessary, but being trapped in a deeper sleep sounded awful with the nightmares you’ve been having.
It had been upsetting enough to watch Ace die through a screen, but in your dreams you were right there. It felt so real.
A suffocating heat burned at your skin and seared your lungs with every panicked breath, which only became more frantic as hot blood splattered over your face. Life was rapidly draining from Ace’s eyes as he collapsed into the waiting arms of his now deeply traumatized brother.
Your feet were rooted to the ground, all you could do was stare in horror as he looked up at you with tearful, pleading eyes. “Why?” The word was more so coughed out than spoken, spraying out more blood that he couldn’t afford to lose. An arm extended towards you, the hand locking onto your own. His nails dug into your skin, drawing out blood of your own to mix with his into a revolting cocktail. “You could have stopped this. How could you do this to me?”
The last word was wheezed out and his body went limp as his dead, lifeless eyes stared through you. A soul wrenching scream tore its way out of Luffy’s throat, only to morph into your own as you were mercifully ripped from your slumber.
The screaming damn near gave Ace a heart attack, you’re sure of it. This nightmare had occurred after you and him had become separated from the rest of the group while traversing the desert, and you had found a compact cave for the two of you to pass the night in.
What made it worse was how he reacted. He was so concerned, even fretting over you as you desperately tried to get your breathing under control. The compassion in his eyes had done nothing to comfort you, it only served to further sicken you. Here he was wanting to save you from something as trivial as a nightmare, yet you couldn’t be bothered to speak up on and prevent his upcoming demise.
The guilt was killing you, and the solution was not only clear, but easy. So why couldn’t you bring yourself to just tell him? To plead and beg for him to give up the chase and not throw his life away. Yet your lips remained sealed.
All of these elements came to a boil and demanded your attention, so you did what seemed to be the easiest thing to do in your situation. Drink it away.
Now that Luffy had awoken from his brief coma after fighting Crocodile, Alubarna Palace was hosting a lavish party in celebration and thanks for what everyone had done. And what high end party would be complete without absurd amounts of alcohol?
It started with one, purely to help ease your nerves. However, when it didn’t, you poured yourself another. And then a few more. Zoro had initially been thrilled to have you as a drinking buddy, but apparently even he had his limits and had cut you off.
“The hell’s gotten into you? You’re drinking like you’re trying to run from demons,” the bottle of expensive liquor had been moved out of reach when you tried to go for it again.
“You have no idea,” you slurred out, head spinning from your evening of poor decision making.
Zoro shot you a questioning look, but didn’t press it, likely knowing full well that getting a coherent conversation out of you right now would be impossible. He heaved out a sigh and stood up, “I’m going to get you some water, stay right there.”
Thoroughly defeated, you slumped back into your chair. After all that, you still couldn’t get your dilemma out of your head. Your “demons” continued gnawing at your soul, and all that your drinking had done about it was ensure that you would have a miserable hangover in the morning.
Your head lulled to the side, and you caught sight of a familiar orange hat. Speak of the devil. While you were in the throws of self inflicted misery, Ace was happily taking advantage of all the food being offered. Good for him. He deserved a nice night.
As if acting on its own, your body managed to get up onto its feet. You shambled towards him, doing your best not to fall flat on your face with each uncoordinated step. Whatever invisible force that had been helping you to make the walk to Ace failed you at the last second, and you crashed into him from behind.
“Shit! Wha- Oh, it’s just you,” Ace whirled around, visibly agitated, but his features relaxed when he realized who it was. He appeared to be ready to say more but you cut him off.
“I need to talk to you.”
Ace quirked a brow, “Yeah? What’s up?”
From the expectant look he was giving you, it’s clear that he’s waiting for you to spill your guts here and now. You shook your head, “No, it’s… It’s a secret. We have to go somewhere else.” Realization flashed across his face and he nodded. Fortunately for you, he led the way. You honestly did not think you’d be able to scout out a place for this discussion. You were finally going to come clean and tell him everything before you could sober up and come to your senses.
It was going well. At least it was, until he passed out and took you down with him. You both collided onto the floor with a resounding thud, him on top of you. The hall you’d slipped into was empty, meaning there was no one here to help you.
You groaned as you attempted to move, the fall had hit you harder than it should have thanks to the copious amounts of alcohol in your system. You were also mentally kicking yourself for not seeing this coming. He was eating when you stumbled into him, of course it was only a matter of time before this happened.
Whatever, there isn’t time to be bemoaning a minor inconvenience. You manage to shimmy out from under him and use the wall to get to your feet. Ace is snoring on the floor, not a care in the world. Hopefully he’ll wake up soon.
Taking a look around, you see a door just a couple steps away. You inch your way over to it and try the knob. It clicks open, and you peer in. Looks like some sort of guest room, and it’s empty. Perfect.
Pushing the door open fully, you turn back to Ace. He’s still asleep, but you don’t want to wait around for him to wake up on his own and run the risk of being seen. You lean down to grab the closest part of him, his right foot, and pull. You’re not sure if he’s actually heavy, or if you’re just too drunk for this, but you tip over while trying to do this and fall flat on your ass.
“Huh?” Ace’s head snapped up and he looked around owlishly. The second his eyes connected with yours, he remembered what he was doing before his narcoleptic tendencies took the wheel. He laughed, a light blush on his face, as he got to his feet, “Sorry about that, you alright?”
“I’m fine, get in here,” you urged him to hurry, which he did. In the time it took you to stand again, Ace had already slipped into the room, closed the door, and flicked on a lamp so you two wouldn’t be talking in complete darkness. You eye the door for a moment, then grab a chair and drag it over to wedge it under the doorknob. Someone walking in on the conversation you were about to have would be something of a worst case scenario.
Ace watched this curiously, “Is everything okay?”
This probably looked weird, but oh well, it’s about to get a lot weirder. You decide to sit on the bed and motion for Ace to join you, which he does. You take one of his hands in both of yours and stare at him intensely, “I need to tell you something. It’s going to sound insane, but you need to promise me you won’t tell anyone about this.”
He repeated his previous question, asking again if everything was okay, but you cut him off, “Promise me, please!”
Your desperation got through to him, “Okay, I promise! What’s going on?”
Here goes nothing. You take a deep breath and take the leap, “You need to stop going after Blackbeard.”
Ace recoiled immediately, and if you hadn’t been holding onto his hand for dear life, he probably would have backed away from you. “What? I can’t do that, why would y-”
“Let me finish!” You snapped at him, only to immediately regret it. You sighed, “Please. There’s more, please let me finish talking first, and then you can talk.”
While he did not look happy about it, he did relax his shoulders and settled back into the bed. You took this as your cue to continue, “You need to stop going after Blackbeard because you will die if you do.” Ace exhaled sharply and rolled his eyes at this, assuming that this was coming from a place of fear and doubt.
“I know this because,” you took in a shuddering breath, steeling yourself for what was to come. “I know this because in the world that I came from… This world is a story.”
Ace stares at you wide eyed and slack jawed. He laughed, but was very clearly uncomfortable, “I, uh, I think you’ve had a little too much to drink tonight. How about I take you back to your room to sleep it off, okay?”
He tried to stand, but you yanked him back down, “No! I’m not drunk! Well, I mean, I am, but I know what I’m talking about! I can prove it.”
His expression was nothing short of incredulous, but he indulged you, “Yeah, okay, sure. Go ahead, prove it.”
“You’re hunting down Blackbeard because he murdered Thatch so he could steal his devil fruit,” you started light. Ace had told you about Thatch being the one he was avenging, but he’d never mentioned the devil fruit before, likely not deeming it an important enough detail. His brows knit together and his eyes drifted upwards as he racked his brain to remember if maybe he actually had said something about it.
“Before you were with Whitebeard, you were captain of the Spade Pirates. Your first member was Masked Deuce, who you met while being stranded on an island together. It’s where you found your devil fruit and built Striker,” he hadn’t told you anything in regards to his old crew, and his face reflected that. You definitely had his attention now.
“You and Luffy were raised by mountain bandits because Garp couldn’t raise you two himself. It wasn’t just you guys, though, you had another brother named Sabo, but he was killed when he tried to set sail and got shot down,” at this point, you were saying whatever came to mind with no regard to whether or not it was a good idea to say this right now. You couldn’t bring yourself to keep looking him in the eye, so you settled for staring at his hand in yours. It was completely slack.
“Your parents are Portgas D. Rouge and Gol D. R-”
Before you could finish the sentence, Ace’s free hand clamped over your mouth with such ferocity that you almost fell off the bed. Forcing yourself to make eye contact again, you see that his are blown wide and wild. The color has been drained from his face and he looked physically ill from hearing everything you just threw at him.
An extremely tense moment passed with nothing to be heard beyond his labored breathing. Then, he hesitantly let go of your face and with a shaky voice said, “Okay. I’m sorry. I believe you. What… What’s going to happen if I keep pursuing Blackbeard?”
You attempted to swallow the lump in your throat, but it refused to go away, “When you catch up with him, you’ll fight, but lose. Your powers are no match for his, you don’t stand a chance against him. After your loss, he turns you in to the marines.
“Because of who your father is, they decide to make an example out of you and sentence you to death.”
“That bastard turns me in and I get executed?” He sounds like the wind has just been knocked out of him. Disbelief and bitterness are the two most prevalent emotions in his tone, but many others brew beneath the surface.
“Not exactly,” it’s true that he gets turned in and killed, but it’s nowhere near that simple and straightforward. “Luffy comes to your rescue at Marineford, and so does Whitebeard and a lot of his crew.”
Before you could go more into detail, Ace speaks up, “They… W-Why would they do that?”
“Why would they- You have to ask?!” Your voice raises and you have to remind yourself of just how much character development he has to go through in that arc to finally realize and accept the fact that he’s genuinely loved. “Because you’re family, their family! They care about you and don’t want to see you die!”
Your outburst shocked him, but not as much as seeing you start to cry did. His hand is abandoned and you lurch forward to bring him into a suffocatingly tight hug, “Y-You are so loved, you know that? They l-love you so much! A lot of people do! I do! We all want to see you live and be happy!” You limply hang off of him as more tears bubble to the surface, greedily taking the chance to escape with every sob as you finally let out everything you’ve been keeping in. Ace makes no move to return your embrace, he just sits there stiff as a board.
“A-And, at that battle, you’re killed by Admiral Akainu while protecting Luffy. He’s devastated by it, being forced to watch you die hurts him so bad,” you cling onto him tighter upon feeling him flinch from your words. “Whitebeard dies there too.”
“What?! How could anyone kill him? That can’t be right!” You’re wrenched off Ace violently and his stare is almost as unhinged as it was when you said his parents’ names.
“Blackbeard does it,” Ace freezes at this. “That should give you an idea of how strong he is. If he can kill Whitebeard, fighting you is nothing to him. Besides, you of all people would know how hard it is to kill him,” you chuckle but it’s humorless, empty even.
A heavy stretch of silence follows after that. Ace’s eyes don’t leave your face for even a second, desperately searching for anything that would tell him that this is all one big, sick joke. But there’s nothing of the sort.
Slowly, he releases your shoulders and he shifts away from you to rest his head in his hands. Without his support, you allow yourself to fall back onto the bed. Between all the alcohol and your emotional outburst, you’re exhausted and want nothing more than to sleep. You try to force yourself to stay awake, but it feels like an insurmountable task.
“Hey, Ace?” There’s no answer, but you continue anyway, “I’m sorry. I know that was a lot. If, um… If you don’t believe me about knowing what’s going to happen, stick around until after we set sail again. Bon Clay- Mr. 2- is going to bring the Going Merry over here so that we don’t have to backtrack. Marines will be all over the place, but he sacrifices himself so that Luffy and his crew can get away. Once they’ve lost the marines, Nico Robin will reveal herself to have been hiding on the ship and joins the crew.”
Ace continues to not react to what’s being said, you’re not even sure he’s listening to you at this point. As much as you want to comfort him, your limbs feel like lead and your head is swimming. The last thing you see is the jolly roger of the Whitebeard’s staring you down as you fade into darkness.
Consciousness comes back to you slowly. Painfully so. Before you can even make out your surroundings, you’re assaulted by the worst headache of your life. The stabbing pain behind your eyes is crippling, all you want is to retreat back to the comfort of sleep, but you know that’s not going to happen.
It doesn’t help that your mouth is so dry that you feel like you’re back in the desert. One hand comes up to gingerly massage your eyes. The action brought more discomfort than relief, but it did clear up your sight a little.
As your senses ebb back into you, you hone in on the pressure all over your body. It takes considerable effort, but you manage to lift your head enough to take a look. Your nose is less than an inch from bumping into someone else’s. Chopper’s to be exact. He was curled up into your side and using your chest as a pillow. Looking past him, Luffy was sprawled across your lap, belly up. Both of them were still asleep.
You prop yourself up on one arm. Chopper shifts, but doesn’t wake. Off to your side is a bedside table with a glass of water on it. Oh, thank God. Using the arm you aren’t propped up with, you grab it and bring the cup to your lips. The water is divine, an absolute blessing for your dry throat.
As you enjoy your drink, your eyes glance around to observe the rest of the room. It’s the one you all have been staying in since saving Alabasta. Most of your friends are in their respective beds, except for Chopper and Luffy, obviously. Zoro was also not in his bed, instead being slumped over in a chair next to your own.
Your eyes flicker over to the massive windows of the room, and you spot Ace sitting in the windowsill. From the way he’s positioned, he appears to be awake already. Your gaze narrows as you focus on him. Something tickled at the back of your mind, demanding to be remembered. But what?
“Y-You are so loved, you know that? They l-love you so much! A lot of people do! I do! We all want to see you live and be happy!”
The water going down your throat is suddenly going out of it when you choke. Memories come back and hit you like a train as you realize what exactly it is you did last night.
Naturally, this wakes up Chopper and Luffy, who are both jolted from their once peaceful sleep by you choking on your drink. Chopper immediately starts to panic, “AH! Don’t die, (Y/N)!”
It was crucial that you speak to Ace again, but it seemed like the world itself was committed to making sure that didn’t happen. Ace slipped out of the room while everyone was fussing over you, and it honestly felt like he was avoiding you now. Everytime you thought you might be able to catch him alone, either he vanishes, or someone else comes out of nowhere to drag you away.
Today was the day you all set sail from Alabasta, and while that did put you in close proximity with Ace, it also put everyone else within earshot of you two. And considering the delicate nature of what you needed to talk about, that was extremely inconvenient.
The only good thing was that the events following leaving Alabasta played out exactly how they were supposed to. Hopefully that meant that Ace would believe you and give up hunting down Blackbeard, but you won’t be able to confirm that unless you speak with him.
You were so stressed that you’d barely been able to focus on Robin being here. She “introduced” herself to you as if she hadn’t had an extremely uncomfortable run in with you in an alleyway back in Rainbase, but all you could manage was a half-assed handshake before excusing yourself.
For probably the fifteenth time today, you checked to make sure that Striker was still tied to the Merry. It was, much to your relief. But where was Ace hiding? You haven’t seen him since Robin showed herself.
The stress of trying and failing to corner him was doing nothing to help with your hangover, your head felt like it was about to explode. Did you still have Advil in the bag you got isekai’d here with? Maybe. Pushing off the railing, you march to where your room is while praying that you’re right about the painkillers.
You open the door without much thought, only to stop dead in your tracks when you catch sight of Ace rummaging through your belongings and stuffing them into his backpack. The door opening did briefly make him stop and peer over his shoulder to see who it was, but the second he saw it was you, he went right back to pillaging.
“Can I help you? Why are you robbing me?” You stomp over to where he’s crouched down and shove his shoulder.
“I’m not robbing you, I’m packing for you,” Ace mumbled, sounding lost in thought.
“Why would you be packing for me? Actually, you know what? That’s the least of my concerns right now, we need to talk about last night.”
“We’ll talk about it later, not here.” He still hasn’t properly faced you, and you were getting sick of only making eye contact with his tattoo and not him.
“Where else would we talk about it?!” You hissed.
Seeming content with his work, he stood up and kicked the dresser drawer shut, “On the Striker. Or maybe the Moby Dick, I guess. I’m going back and you’re coming with me.”
You can’t believe what you’re hearing, “Excuse me?”
“I’m going back to the Moby Dick, and you’re coming with me.” Ace had finally turned to face you. His eyes were sunken and vaguely bloodshot.
The sight catches you off guard, “Did you sleep at all last night?”
He shook his head, “No, we’re going to have to stop somewhere else to sleep before going the rest of the way back home.”
“Ace, I’m not going with you. Look, I’m happy that you’re calling off your hunt, relieved honestly, but I’m staying here.” You will ideally be figuring out how to go home sometime soon, there’s no sense in hopping around from crew to crew now.
One of his eyes twitched, and he looked exasperated, “You can’t stay here. You aren’t safe here.”
“What are you-”
“Let me finish,” the words were spoken calmly, but very firm. “I don’t think you understand how serious this is. You apparently know everything about this world and what’s going to happen in it, do you have any idea what will happen to you if word gets out about this?”
“You’re the only person I’ve told, so as long as you keep your mouth shut, I’ll be fine.”
“Until you get drunk again and tell someone else, then what?” His words were just as scathing as his gaze.
Your face flushed in shame, “That won’t happen again.”
“You don’t know that!” Ace snapped at you, then sighed and dragged a hand down his face, “This is for your own good. Nothing good will come from anyone else learning about this. If it ever got back to someone like Big Mom, she would send every single one of her children after you so she could have you on her side. And that’s the nicer option. I’m sure the marines would be more than happy to kill you off so that no one else could have you if they can’t.”
Throughout this entire conversation, his face had remained uncomfortably neutral, but now it cracked. Fondness peaked through the exhaustion as his expression softened ever so slightly. He steps forwards and brings you against him in a crushing embrace. His skin is hot to the touch, effectively chasing away any chill that you may have had.
“You said you wanted to see me live, and I want to see you live, too.” The words are hushed, you wouldn’t have been able to hear him if he hadn’t been speaking right next to your ear.
Reluctantly, he pulls himself away. His face is serious again, “We’re leaving tonight, be ready to go.”
“But-”
“If you don’t come willingly, I will make you. The only thing that you resisting will accomplish is making this messier than it needs to be. Even if you don’t like this now, you will thank me for it later.”
Ace spins on his heel and heads for the door. All you can do is stand there gawking at him as he leaves. Just before the door closes behind him, he spares a glance over his shoulder to say, “I’ll see you tonight.”

Straw Hats take care of Sick!Reader (Platonic)
Tumblr media
Just a bunch of self-indulgence on my part. Spoiler if you haven’t seen up to episode 975.
Word count: 400
Masterlist
The crew as a whole: They are, naturally, worried, not too much though, it’s not Nami-level panic, they all know they have the best doctor in the world! There are always at least two of your crewmates by your side.
Luffy: Wants to feed you your favorite food, that always helps him, so of course it would help you. He’s making silly faces (actually a bit scary with all the silly drawings he did, but you’re asleep, so it’s all good) He might aggressively poke you awake if no one stops him.
Zoro: Says you just need to sleep it off, you’re strong so you’ll be fine. Still lifts weights near the window just in case.
Nami: When Chopper is taking a break she is the one taking care of you, specifically making sure Luffy doesn’t poke you. When you wake up she’ll tell you you owe her 50 thousand for making her skip drawing her map (and that you made her worry, but she’s not going to say that)
Usopp: Tells you exaggerated stories even if you are asleep. He may, or may not have, joined Luffy when Luffy was trying to cheer you up with silly faces. Nami put an end to that one.
Sanji: Makes sure you get all the nutrition you need. Good food is a requirement for speedy recovery. He will put more effort into decorations if you are a female, but otherwise the quality remains the same.
Chopper: Taking care of you, of course, he makes sure everything is going well. He still went: “Doctor! Someone call the doctor! Wait that’s me!” in his defense it’s the first time you got sick on their journey.
Robin: Reads a book to you when Usopp isn’t telling you his tales. It’s exactly the kind of novel you’d read if you weren’t sick at the moment.
Franky: He very clearly remembers what drinking tea did to him that one time, so he tries to swap your tea with cola. Robin makes sure he can’t do it.
Brook: Plays music for you, though not in the room itself. He’s just far enough for you to hear it and still not be woken up by it.
Jinbe: Makes sure Sunny is sailing as smoothly as it can and often drops by to see if you’re doing fine.

How you met the Yandere Strawhats.
Tumblr media
A/N: Like my other yandere strawhats posts, you can decide if the relationship is platonic or romantic. (Also, still only on episode 155 so take that as you will)
When you think of yourself, you do not think you are Strawhat material.
Even at your tiny island, the Strawhat's were well known, there escapades in Alabasta being well known, and you were constantly reminded of them through their wanted posters.
You didn't really have an opinion on them, or any pirates in general. The others on the island, however, were very afraid of them, especially their Captain, Mokey D. Luffy. To you though, he looked like a dork.
When they showed up at your island, parading around like they owned the place, you couldn't care less, and you went about you day as if it was normal.
The other villagers were afraid to acknowledge them, treating them like a bad though, if they ignored them, they would go away. But the Strawhats wouldn't, of course, when they were stubborn.
You first met the Strawhats when you had to serve them at the restaurant you worked at. They were loud, two of them, who you recognized as Vinsmoke Sanji and Roronoa Zoro, arguing. The captain and two others, including a literal deer, were begging for food the moment you stopped at their table. It was overwhelming. and for a second, you understood why so many of your neighbors didn't like them.
After that, you saw them around frequently. The ginger, who you found out was Nami, the first one you actually met, asked you a show her round the island one day when she saw you on the street. It was more so of a soft demand, but you did so anyway. It was fun, you two shopping for new clothes together.
The next Strawhats you met was Zoro, who got lost one day when he was training in the woods. You were surprised that a grown man wasn't able to find himself around a small island, but you helped him either way. It took you a while to find the port, since Zoro kept insisting that he knew the way, getting you even more lost. During this, you had a nice conversation with him, asking him questions about his captain and why he joined the pirate group. He was pretty nice, and invited you to eat dinner with his crewmates, but you refused, saying you had dinner prepared at home. I was strange, he seemed almost sad to see you go.
Usopp and Chopper you met together when you were walking near the harbor. They seemed to be repairing parts of the ship, which did look like it was falling apart. They looked to be struggling, and you didn't have anything to do for that day, so you offered to help, which they appreciated. The whole time they tried to goof off with you, encouraging you to take a break once most of the ship was repaired. As much as you didn't want to, you had fun hanging out with them. They tried to prevent you from leaving, claiming there was more to repair, which you easily able to figure out was a lie.
Robin was a strange one. Before you met her, you barely saw he on the island, even when they first arrived. She showed up at you work and asked if you would like to have lunch with her. When she confirmed she would be paying, you hurriedly accepted. During the lunch, she revealed that a lot of her crewmates were interested in you, including her. She wouldn't give you a reason why, simply saying that her captain was going to convince you to join their crew. You gawked at her, and she changed the subject, the rest of the dinner going somewhat smoothly.
The next day, you did meet the infamous Monkey D. Luffy, standing outside your house door, waiting for you. When he saw you, he got super excited, and invited you to a diner at their ship, the Going Merry. When you opened your mouth to refuse, he agreed for you, and rushed back to, you assumed, the ship. You signed.
That afternoon, you met Sanji, their cook, at you job. At this point, you did not want to see anymore Strawhats, wanting to send him out of the restaurant, but you held your tongue. Sanji was very charming, asking you if you would like to eat with him, you saying you can't eat while you're working. He smiled, and reminded you of your dinner that night, complementing the food.
The dinner that night was more of a feast. You tried not to show up, but Luffy was at your door, ready to lead you to the ship. As the night went on, your anger washed away, and you forgot about what Robin told you. That was until Luffy, who was sitting at the head of the table, mentioned you joining. You didn't know what to say, afraid of answering, before Nami answered for you, saying you would be glad to join, wouldn't you?
You couldn't answer, looking around confused. You didn't know if it was the drink Sanji handed you randomly during the night, or if it was your own anxiety. You felt sick, and your vision became blurry. You heard someone say something, nodding your head along and who you assumed was Robin guide you towards another room on the ship. She laied you down on a hammock, smiling down at you as you tried to focus your vision in the dark room. She leaned in close to your ear, so close you could feel her breath on you.
"I told you so." You heard her say before falling asleep.

Isekai Yandere Strawhats

Previous
Synopsis: You can read them together or separately, I f*cked up the last part but I tried connecting some dots without fully disclosing everything bc I am not yet sure if I want to continue expanding on this story. If you’d like this to possibly become a series let me know !
You had been startled awake gasping for air and completely drenched in a cold sweat. It was the middle of the night, the ship was dark but the light of the moon shone through the porthole allowing your sight to adjust. You sighed to yourself, memories of your family. What a cruel thing the mind can be, you thought.
You were restless and couldn’t sleep any longer, dreaming of distant voices like you weren’t here on purpose was hilarious in a sinister way. You wanted to believe the person you had become was just a simple state of mind so that you wouldn’t go crazy. But you knew better, you knew to everyone else you’d be considered a lunatic.
You’d argue with yourself constantly, in every crevice of your brain, while also being the mediator wanting everything to stop. This was a good life you were living, free of idiotic way of life you lived previously. When you woke from dreams like this, for a minute or two everything was clear.
You could remember how you got here, remember why you left in the first place. And best of all, you remembered why you were so scared of these people in the first place.
You chuckled to yourself as you got out of bed, your stomach now empty and gurgling for a snack. Making your way to the kitchen you saw the light in the crows nest and a shadow passing through the fish tank. Of course he would be up, you knew his schedule.
You wanted to go up and ask if he’d join your for a drink and a snack but, just as you reach the second flight of stairs you stopped yourself. Alone time when you were awake was needed.
Of course there would be times where you were alone during the day but never completely alone. The constant fake concern or the random outburst to grasp your attention when your eyes went blank always reminded you, you weren’t alone.
You opened the locks on the fridge, rummaging around for alcohol, one of the greatest things about this world was how strong it was in both flavor and effect. Back home you were too young to drink but here you could have anything you desired.
That’s what you liked to tell yourself now. Whenever the itch got too overwhelming and started becoming a visible panic attack you knew just how to calm yourself. Deep breaths, look at just one thing, and clear your mind of negativity. It worked but sake worked even better.
You drank too glasses in the darkness, the affect making itself known when you stood up to bring the rest of the bottle up the stairs. Giggling when you almost fell face first only to be caught in the strong arms of the swordsman.
He looked pretty tonight, the moon was a friend who liked to light up the features of his face you wouldn’t notice during the day. Making him out to be a knight in shining celestial armor. You smiled at him and he gave you a small smile back guiding you to the crows nest.
You told him about your dream. He listened quietly sipping directly from the bottle only stopping to pour you some.
“ Zoro.. is anyone listening?” You asked eyes scouting the perimeter of the room. He shook his head and urged you to continue.
“ My dreams remind me that I’m not insane— well that I’m not completely insane. I want to say they ground me as much as they hurt me.”
The tears welled up in your eyes, threatening to fall in giant droplets of sorrow. He stopped drinking to give you his full attention as you went more in detail about the things you’ve bottle up.
You were like a scroll unraveling before him, if he were bold he make a joke saying that you were the one piece they’d been searching the sea for.
He understood completely why the crew was enamored with you. The little fighting fish trapped in a tank, who could only give without take, the colors of your scales vibrant and full of life while your tail flashes trying to ward off the parasitic infection dwelling all around and within.
He finally spoke up, startling your rambling about every little topic on your mind, “ I didn’t want to interrupt but I have something interesting to tell you.”
You nod eager to listen.
“ I know we’ve been waiting a while and this since is a golden opportunity now that we’re alone. On the last island I spoke to an old man, there isn’t a name for it yet but there are other like you. Travelers.”
You threw yourself into him and held him tight. This was the break through you’ve gone through hell waiting for.
“ There have been quiet a few others, over the last few years he’s said. Some trying to be discrete and others making grand entrances, they speak how you speak, using the same slang and everything I knew they were linked to your situation.”
“ This is incredible ! I knew there were others like be but… I always thought they’d be- Zoro?”
He suddenly yanked you off of him, picking up the bottle of sake and walking to the door. Just as you were opening your mouth to speak the floor started creaking, someone else was awake.
Panic set through you.
Do they hear anything? Did they hear your excitement? Who was coming closer?
Zoro opened the door revealing Robin. How could you possibly forget the other equally dangerous night owl on the ship. She smiled at you and waltzed in sitting on a stool.
“ I didn’t know you woke up Y/N, I would’ve joined the two of you earlier.”
“ Oh yeah I didn’t really want to check for anyone but I just— I seen his shadow and I couldn’t sleep so I figured… why not.” Your nervous laugh creeped in towards the end of your sentence.
You silently damned yourself and looked over to Zoro who sat right back in his spot drinking the almost empty bottle like nothing happened.
The three of you talked about little things, souvenirs from islands, Zoro about swords he looked at, and Robin went on about a foreign scripture she has yet to completely figure out.
Zoro’s presence kept you at ease and before you knew it you fell asleep again. The rest was short and you woke in your bed by the booming voices of your crew mates. Making your way to the kitchen you were greeted continuously upon entry, the captain patting a seat between him and Zoro.
The handsome Prince handing your orange juice in a wine glass to accompany your eggs and bacon. You ate silently till Luffy started stealing off Ussop’s plate causing a ruckus on the table.
The morning came and went and you were playing card games with the boys till lunch. The excitement creeped in when you were handing your cleared plate and heading off the the crows nest once again.
Watching from the upper deck was Nami accompanied by Ussop and Chopper holding baskets of tangerines and pop green. A keen eye was needed in order to be a navigator and that eye noticed your 180 when you were around Zoro.
“ They’re close those two..”
The others agreed watching you leap up the stairs into the crows nest. It was hard to not notice when no one else really bothered the grumpy swordsman in his little sanctuary.
The woman hummed then directed her little helpers to continue picking fruit while she went to investigate. She heard your cheers and giggles as she got closer to the door, daring her to press her ear on the door.
Intently listening to you laugh about a story from your childhood she failed to notice the blonde creeping up behind her with a tray of drinks. With a hand to her chest to keep her from punching him she pulled him close to listen along with her, much to his delight of course.
Although when the cook heard the joy a familiarity being shared with the swordsman he almost barged into the room. Nami having to physically hold him back so that their cover wouldn’t be blown.
It’s almost like they forgot the swordsman can dodge knives in his sleep. Zoro alerted you the moment Nami was walking up the steps. Yes, she was as stealthy and as sly as a cat but there was more in fooling a man like him. The topic of conversation changed and you had suggested writing notes while you spoke the next time around.
The itch was back but you didn’t want to alert Zoro. He was doing his best in keeping your endeavors discreet and telling him would out more on his plate. That night you were reading and the navigator invited you to sit with her while she drew up new maps.
“ Y/N, you’re pretty close with Zoro huh.” She spoke up.
Your eyes left the pages to look at the woman gracefully creating lines and squiggles on the large lithograph. “ Yeah, I enjoy telling him stories and he just listens or laughs.” You shrugged.
She hummed and continued, “ I was heading over to you to ask if you wanted to help peal some tangerines for Sanji to make marmalade.”
“ Oh crap you should’ve asked me during lunch. I can help tomorrow if you’d like.”
She looked over to you from the corner of her eye and smiled agreeing.
“ I didn’t mean to listen in but… you seem very relaxed around him, more relaxed than with the crew.”
“ He.. he just seems to put me at ease I guess.”
“ Why aren’t you at ease with the rest of us?” She inquired tilting her head and placing the ink pen in the corner of her desk.
You quickly rebutted hoping to ease the sudden tension beginning to bubble up. She was full of questions today and you felt like you were in an interrogation room without a door. She chuckled at your stuttering, it was so cute when you were nervous. She continued her work and changed the topic to not cause you anymore visible worry.
Laying in bed that night you finally felt at peace, before your interruption earlier Zoro had told you he knew a way for you to get back home. It would take some time and you would have to get the others off your radar.
Your thoughts quickly shifted to Nami and how she approached you earlier. To a non trained eye your conversation just seemed like small talk or curiosity among friends though the threat of something more was obvious to you. You were sure she did that purposely, looking into your eye, raising and eyebrow, and giving you that sly smirk.
Just to see what type of reaction she could coerce out of you without making things too transparent. You knew eventually they would look into your newfound closeness with the swordsman. You turned to the other side of the bed where the pillow was cold and the light didn’t hit your closed eyes. Shaking the thoughts away to sleep and deal with another day tomorrow.
The ship was still lively while you were resting, everyone doing their own little tasks and routines. In the room next to the crows nest Robin was bathing, she was enjoying her peace till a small knock came from the door.
“ Robin could I come in?”
Nami opened the door and waved sitting on the edge of the tub. “ I think we should tell Luffy about Zoro and Y/N.” She said letting her fingers graze the steaming water. Robin hummed and leaned over to her, “ We should eventually of course. However, don’t you think we should also go to Zoro separately first as well? To completely assess the situation.”
Nami agreed and decided now would be the perfect time since you were asleep and he was completely alone.
She knocked twice and opened the door peaking in, “ Zoro are you busy?”. He looked up at her with a weight lifting over his shoulder and shook his head. She waltzed in sitting in the booth seat hitting her lip, the nerves of trying to get a straight answer out of him settling in.
“ I wanted to talk to you about Y/N, you’ve been pretty close yeah?”
“ I guess? They just come in and ramble while I work out.”
“ Well I hope you aren’t forgetting that the crew also wants to get close to them.”
“ What’s that supposed to mean exactly?”
He was as standoffish as always but if this wasn’t done who knew what the two of you could do. It’s not that she even wanted to question the first mate but no one else has been able to break the barrier with little Y/N… and of all people to it was the grumpy swordsman?
“ It means that whatever you’ve been promising them… isn’t going to make them..”
“ Rebel? I’m loyal to my captain, whatever ideas you’re having are wrong. They came to me because the rest of your are idiotic and overbearing.”
Nami huffed angrily at the assumption that she was overbearing and idiotic. She knew that at certain moments the entire crew would make you uncomfortable but her? She walked out slamming the door and the swordsman’s eyes hardened.
If Nami decided to personally ask him then someone more dangerous was involved.
Back in the bathroom the archeologist was humming quietly to herself as she drained the tub and let the steam dwell around her. The slam of a door from down the hall brought a smirk to her lips, Zoro had ticked Nami off and now she was going to play her part.
Robin knew from the moment you joined their journey you would be valuable. From the way the crew took a liking to you immediately and especially the way the captain would light up in your presence. Robin was extremely loyal to Luffy, she was going to do anything to ensure his happiness was preserved.
She knew you were scheming something with the swordsman. Just as she knew that the swordsman was aware of her presence whenever she’d try to lurk into the room. It’s not that she was doubting Zoro’s loyalty, but he obviously cared about you enough to even consider helping you get back home.
There were times where she questioned herself, she knew that keeping you here basically hostage was wrong. She lived her life running in fear and to keep you here against your will went against everything she stood for but… her captain was her number one priority now, and if making you cry yourself to sleep every night was the sacrifice then so be it.
The ship had finally settled and the moon was now at its peak, the boys room was filled with voices but surprisingly Luffy was quiet. Sanji took notice and eyes the swordsman from the corner of his eye. Without even looking towards him Zoro shrugged and turned the other way. He rolled his eyes and held his tongue not in the mood to argue, he was more concerned about his quiet captain who stared blankly at the wall.
Luffy wasn’t usually one to think too much about one thing for too long, so it was right to be concerned. Sanji stood tall peaking over into his cot and the boy met his gaze.
“ Something on your mind?”
A crack of a smile spring onto the captain’s face, he liked that his crew knew him so well. “ I’m just thinking of Y/N.” He sighed.
As of late you’d been running rampant through his mind. Every time he gets close you get farther and he doesn’t know how to fix it. You keep reminiscing about your old home and life, when you first got here you were ecstatic to be with him, he doesn’t know what changed.
You’d been more than happy when he welcomed you into his crew, you got along with everyone, and you fit so perfectly like his last puzzle piece. Then one day he woke up and started spewing things about wanting to leave. To leave him.
That thought angered him and he shot up from his cot startling Sanji. “ Why have the changed? We’ve been so kind. I don’t understand-”
“ They’re just homesick… we all get homesick.”
“ Yeah but it’s all the time with Y/N. She’ll laugh and play with us then started getting all sappy. It’s annoying me.”
“ Maybe it has something to do with this green moss ball sleeping underneath you— you seen how damn close they got. WAKE UP MOSS BALL!” Sanji hissed.
He kicked the swordsman’s cot waking him up and bringing the attention of the others in the room.
“ I have to watch in an hour what are you talking about in the middle of the night?”
“ How about you tell our very annoyed captain how you and Y/N have become so chummy.”
“ I don’t know why you’re all acting like this, isn’t it good that we’re friends? You guys need to evaluate your approach— and leave me alone.”
With that he fell right back to sleep the entire room thinking to themselves.
After that night the entire crew morphed into these disgustingly saccharine creatures. Catering to your every need like you were an infant who couldn’t be let out of sight for a moment.
In their minds you were their sweet Y/N and they were just helping you settle into your new home. Luffy’s annoyance spread to all the crew members, accept for you and they had a newfound determination.
Zoro decided it was better for the both of you to stop meeting too often, the outburst of Sanji let him know his efforts weren’t working. They were still hot on your tails and it was a matter of time before Luffy himself came to the two of you.
You were distraught, sitting in the kitchen eating a piece of cheesecake Sanji set out for you. You were finally so close and you had to be put on hold because for reasons Zoro wouldn’t share with you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enjoy ! 🍨 if you’d like a post specifically about Y/N and how she got here I’d be willing to do so, thank you for all the support.

Day 5-
OP Tony Tony Chopper x Platonic!Reader - Gingerbread House
Tumblr media
Summary: You help Chopper put together a gingerbread house after everyone else goes to bed.
Warnings: Pure fluff, very short, platonic relationship
You stirred in bed to the sounds of rustling elsewhere in the ship. You were ever the light sleeper, and tended to wait until everyone else was sound asleep before laying down yourself to ensure a good rest. Not tonight though, aparently.
Tiptoeing down the hall, you noticed the lounge light on. Who could be up at this hour? Rounding the corner, your curious scowl faded into a warm smile. There was the Straw Hat doctor, sitting in one of the dining chairs, boosted by a stack of books, and leaning over the table, a frustrated grimace on his face. He had something caked in his fur and smudged on his nose, and from the crumbled bits of cookie architecture in from of him, you guessed it to be royal icing.
"Chopper," you called out, giggling and stepping toward him. "What are you doing up so late?"
His eyes darted to you, startled, and then even more panicked. "G-Go away! You're not supposed to see! It's a suprise!"
"Are you making a gingerbread house?" you asked, ignoring his distress. "Do you need any help?"
The boy shrunk in his seat, surely blushing under all that fur, and nodded slightly. "I just...I wanted to surprise everyone with a gingerbread house, but I misjudged how hard it'd be to put it together...especially with hooves." You couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh, which only frustrated him further. "Oh, shut up, (Y/N)! That's it, just for that, you can't have any when it's done! Not a single gumdrop!"
"Oh, stop," you snickered, sitting down with him. "Let me help you. What are you stuck on?"
"Well..." he trailed, eyeing you suspiciously. "I can't get the pieces to hold together, and if I put too much pressure on them, my hooves break them." He explained, shoulders slumping, disheartened.
"Tell you what," you smiled. "How about I hold them together, and you put the icing on the seems? That way you can move on and don't have to worry about it falling apart while you do something else."
The boy thought for a moment before nodding excitedly. "Yeah, okay!"
With that, the building stage was done before either of you knew it, and Chopper was already halfway finished decorating the 'front yard' of the house. The cake board was dotted with bits of icing with gummy trees stuck in them, gluing them down, and the pathway to the door was lined with candy pearls. Now that your hands were out of the way, Chopper was free to decorate the roof, which he'd been incessantly telling you how excited he was to do. Yet, when the time came, he hesitated.
"Chopper, what's the matter?" you asked with a curious smile.
"I feel guilty," he confessed. "You've been so helpful and I was such a brat to you earlier. Now I'm getting to do all the fun parts while you do the hard work." Your gaze softened at his deep consciousness.
"Well, that's alright, buddy." you chirped, booping his nose. "I knew what I was signing up for."
"But..." he mumbled, shrinking into himself again. "I want you to do some fun parts too." Suddenly, he perked up, shoving the messy piping back into your hands. "I know, I know!" He beamed. "How about you do the icing, and I'll do the candy! Deal?"
Your heart began to sweel with admiration for the little guy. He could be so selfless, so sweet. "That's a deal, Doc."

彡 STRAW HAT PIRATES SPORTS AU
parings: straw hats x gn!reader, chopper x platonic!reader
zai says: my best idea ever brain funk lasted me a good 2 days and im FREE (im probably lying) i wanna split this into parts for the one shots but for now hcs!! no brook bc i literally couldn’t think of a sport for him maybe i’ll fit him in later idk 🧍🏾‍♀️
ˏˋ«────── « 𓆩♡𓆪 » ──────»
˗ˏˋMONKEY D. LUFFY- football (soccer) player
Tumblr media
the type of person to just randomly meet his s/o somewhere, he’s either completely drunk or just extremely sober but he’s just crazy asf as is
when he meets you n you have no idea who he is he doesn’t remind you but he sees no reason to, he just introduces himself like normal and rolls with it
and if you don’t keep up with sports whatsoever you would have no idea you’re dating a football player and his friends would think it’s absolutely hilarious
he would teach you all about football and he even plays it with you from time to time, lots of pitty goals coming your way
i don’t think he’ll make a big deal out of telling you who he is he just randomly says it when he has a game/match and he asks you to come if you’re free
you kissing him after his games would be his favorite thing ever, he hoists you up by your thighs n smiles into the kiss
he gives you the biggest smile when you say that you’re proud of him when he wins, and even if he lost you would still be proud of him
˗ˏˋRORONOA ZORO- fencing
Tumblr media
i don't see him falling in love with a rival i fear he would be too focused on climbing the ranks
au where kuina is alive bc i said so, but zoro still aspires to chase after her she is the best there is period and when he beats her he knows that he made it so far he has yet to beat her but he swears he’ll get there
he probably meets you at a fencing match or at a bar, either way where he meets you he doesn’t really flirt at first he just acknowledges you n it becomes something from there
peak situationship, you have no idea what you are when he actually does start flirting with you and takes you out on dates, and don’t let him talk about fencing either he can talk about it for hours and it manages to put a smile on his face
he always asks when you’re free whenever he has a match, he wants you to be there whether he wins or loses
there would be one crushing loss that gets to him and he holds you close to him and you stay like that for a while and you can tell he’s clearly upset, he pulls away from you mumbling something about getting his stuff
kuina passes by him and simply ruffles his hair saying how you’re a keeper and he brushes her off
kuina actually adores you she likes how you keep him grounded and encourages him to keep going, she sees him as a little brother and she’s glad he found someone like you
˗ˏˋNAMI- tennis player
Tumblr media
totally played in college on a full-ride scholarship, the girl had to get her money's worth!!
richest tennis player simply because of her skill
au where belle-mère is alive because i said so, but nami often talks about her and nojiko in her interviews, belle-mère is so proud of her she’s always bragging about nami to anyone who will listen (literally anyone who stops by her tangerine farm bc she forces them to)
i see her falling in love with an opponent on the court, the bickering the two of you would have would go from a rivalry to slight flirtatious interactions to just straight flirting and everyone can see it
the tension would be at its peak during a championship game, the two of y’all would be in the finals, winner takes all type shit
nami says “i’ll take you out when i win, you know to help you get over your loss”
if she wins you let her take you out, if you win you let her take you out regardless which just intensifies her crush on you when you actually agree to go in the date
tennis power couple, the moment y’all debut in a doubles match it’s over for the world
˗ˏˋUSOPP- track and field
Tumblr media
oh he’s totally a track star ik y’all see the way he be running
i see him running the 100, 200, and dabbling in long jump
he probably meet you while out on the town or at a meet, if you’re competing for another team and he ends up running against you or your teammate he shows off to impress you, if he meets you while he’s out and a bout he just tells you about himself casually
he would love going on little artistic dates, or he’ll buy the paint stuff and y’all can paint at his house while binging y’all’s favorite show
meet days are long asf for him once he gets back he’s immediately asleep, he tries (emphasis on tries) to text you when he gets home but once he brushes his teeth and puts his bonnet on, and his head hits that pillow oh he’s out like a light
he will never shut up about the 4 x 4 and how much he despises it, and if you don’t get it he takes you to a track and has you run a full 400m y’all now hate it together it’s a couples thing <3
if you’re there to cheer him in at his meets he actually falls in love with you like he wants to marry you and would propose to you on the spot if he could
the days after his meets he loves having lazy days with you and doing absolutely nothing, just holding you in his arms and relaxing is all he needs
˗ˏˋSANJI VINSMOKE- baseball player
Tumblr media
he’s totally a baseball player i mean look at that waist ( we gon ignore the fact that he refuses to use his hands for anything besides cooking)
he’s totally a flirtatious player half of the time it’s unintentional bc that’s just how he is a natural gentleman
i see him asking a sports reporter for their number while they’re interviewing him, i see him enjoying the chase so if they brush him off he would be persistent flirting with you
him making sure you see his games, and he would flirt with you constantly if you’re there to recap the games
when he somehow gets you to agree to go out with him he’s actually over the moon, he treats you so well i’m talkin pressin a kiss to the back of your hand, opening doors for you all that jazz
when y’all start dating he’s still the same person, he flirts with you like he hasn’t won the chase a terrible romantic trulay
˗ˏˋTONY TONY CHOPPER [platonic]- athletic trainer student aide
Tumblr media
student aide to an athletic trainer, he would probably be a prodigy too so they sitting here thinking he in college and he is but he’s like fucking 15
the team sees him as a little brother they all adore him and if they get scolded by him bc they wasn’t doing what they was supposed to do to let their injuries heal they so sad they disappointed him
you’re probably on the sports team he’s an aide too n he just naturally floated to you, he hangs out with you outside of the sports team and he sees you as an older sibling
if you need any help training he’d love to help you but if you make him work out with you he’s tapping and switching to moral support
if you get an injury he’s even harsher with you when you don’t listen he’s like “im not above putting my hands on people” whole time he not but he on the verge of slapping you so hard you gon have to be back in his office bc of the slap
makes you buy him lunch all thee time, for an athletic trainer aide he’s in love with sweets and you find it strange
˗ˏˋNICO ROBIN- volleyball player
Tumblr media
#team mom
her volleyball team actually adores her
she’s been player of the year for her team, her conference, and in her league
i see her being the ace of her team, bringing them points home and someone her team can depend on to carry em home
but her practicing late one night and you walkin into the gym to do whatever maybe set up for media day or clean up, anyways you would catch her mid jump serve and it’s totally love at first sight for you i mean it’s robin like
she would smile at you and ask if you play volleyball
if you do she’ll hit some serves to you and if you’re down for it she’ll have a 1v1 practice match against you
if not she’ll be happy to teach you, hits you with the engulfing you and guiding your body with her hands
y’all would play together around the same time for the next few days and she asks you on a date and you ofc agree
˗ˏˋCYBORG FRANKY - athletic trainer for a hockey team
Tumblr media
his team actually adores him like “big bro” franky in effect
i see him as an athletic trainer for a college team but he could also work for pros too!
if he works for a college team he totally cries when the seniors graduate, and if they go pro he makes sure to at least go to one of their games if he can
they’re always in his office even if they aren’t injured, when they don’t have class ( or anything to do ) some of his athletes just go to his office and talk to him about whatever
i see franky as a blind date guy nami probably sets one up for him and he meets you, he talks to you for a little while and he knows he’s into you
he could be in his office talking to you on the phone when his athletes catch him smiling at his phone too hard, or they notice how he’s in a better mood they totally tease him for it (he got that good team chemistry)
he’s so blindly in love with you too, if you don’t know anything about hockey he teaches you and if he has to teach you how to skate as well he literally never leaves your side he got his body around you as he shows you how to hit the puck with the stick
he also gives the best massages like any sore spots you had will be immediately gone
˗ˏˋJINBE - karate fighter
Tumblr media
he screams olympian he truly do don’t he
anyways he’s well respected in his craft, it’s clear he loves what he does and he puts his all into karate
he’s such a smooth gentleman too, his flirt attempts would be subtle but they would be able to knock you off your feet like damn
him flirting with you while you wrap his wounds and it’s like this man?? and he’s so sweet with it
he’s the old timer with the lovey partner who was supporting him from the beginning, you was there when he had nothing to when he was winning championship titles
even though he’s gotten older he’s still got it, people love meeting him bc he’s such a sweetheart and he gives the best hugs ever, runs his own dojo maybe and he teaches people karate
when you stop by because he “forgot his lunch” he always thanks you with a kiss, you know he leaves it on purpose and he knows that you know but he keeps doing it anyways for a kiss

"Owing its speed to his metobolism, the user can quickly process poisons and alcohol before their affects can damage the body, making them immune to such attacks. The speed fruit enables all parts of the body to become faster and strong, including metabolism. As such, the user's body can become starved of energy to the point of near death if they overused it, allowing the user to have a bigger appetite than other members of the crew." Imagine Luffy and male! reader participating in an eating competition tho? (Btw love your works 🥰)
─Strawhats x male!reader (Platonic)
─Summary: Your devil fruit gives you a huge appetite, but it seems you'll always get second place.
─Warnings: none
Part one / Part two
jdshaj this is so cute I can see they totally doing that every time they can, both could leave an entire village without food 😭🤚
Tumblr media
"Ready… set… let the competition begin!"
The announcer started the little festivity on that island where you stopped, a festivity in which both you and Luffy signed up because it was nothing more than a competition to see who could devour the most food.
You fought hard against your captain, the other contestants gave up pretty quickly, but your pride took a beating, you weren't able to beat Luffy in one of these competitions, at least, not the vast majority of the time.
Yes, your fast metabolism makes you have an increased appetite, but not enough to win it, however, you were able to beat it only once, although it was after a fight in which you racked your brains because you did not stop running all day, you almost died from overusing your power, but that was the only time you could beat him.
"I… I give up!"
Your body collided so abruptly with the back of the chair that you fell directly on the floor, your arms and legs spread out like you were a sunbathing starfish, your chest rising and falling rapidly from the speed at which you ate. Luffy smiled proudly, still eating, he reached out to lift you up, you nodded as a thanks, albeit with a slight frown in defeat.
Since you had nothing to do here, because Luffy continued to eat even after winning, you decided to continue exploring the surroundings a bit more, the different stalls that the festival offered, small games, a lot of symbolic souvenirs of the place, lots of traveling merchants looking for buyers. It didn't attract much attention to you and you just went to say hello to Robin who was looking at some books together with Chopper.
You didn't know where the others were, but it didn't take you long to find Sanji and Nami, the blond seemed very focused looking at the different ingredients that a vendor was displaying while she was engaged in a verbal fight with a guy who didn't seem to listen to the attempts to Nami's haggling, you decided to stay out of their business since both seemed busy, you definitely didn't want to end up listening to Sanji rambling about what to cook or embarrass yourself because of Nami being so loud when it came to buying things at a good price.
You met the rest in a bar and it looked like it could be your second attempt to beat someone from the team in a competition, you shared looks with Zoro after you sat down at the table where Usopp, Franky, Brook and he were, you both had seen the paper that was stuck on the wall, 'drink 50 beers without passing out and get a prize, if you don't make it you will have to pay'.
"Are we betting?"
"Hell yes, what are you waiting for, old man?"
He clucked at your behavior, calling for the bartender to bring a hundred beers, you split them up and Franky counted down for you to start drinking. You were a little younger than everyone on the boat, but old enough to drink alcohol, the bad thing is that apparently not enough to handle the bitter taste, thanks to your metabolism you managed to drink the fifty beers barely without them doing some kind of effect on you, though… not before Zoro.
"You have done well, but you will not be able to surpass me so easily."
"Just wait and see marimo!"
"Someone is spending a lot of time with Sanji…"
You narrowed your eyes at Usopp making him go back to his drink as if he hadn't said anything, again, completely defeated you shrank back in your seat savoring the second loss of the day, you didn't even care that you won the award for drinking all on time, you just wanted to wallow in your misery of being the eternal second in the team.

Omg hi!
I saw that you wrote for star wars rebels and thought that this was my shot!
Could i get an imagine of where Ezra has a partner(non binary reader) and they get captured after a big fight, and when they come to save them they are EXTREMELY hurt, like, burn scars, black eyes, cuts littered everywhere on their body, and how he would react along with the other ghost crew and a week or so after ish?
The ghost crew is platonic btw, but i don't know if i want Ezra romantic? Just fluff and cuddles and a really worried Ezra :)
Feel free to ignore this and remember to take care of yourself!
This one got carried away from me ty for requesting this, oml-
It was really fun to write it- I literally stayed up until 4 : 30 something or 4 : 40 something writing most of it, got 3 hours of sleep, and began to write it again I love this piece sm-
Sorry for the long wait too, and I hope you remember to take care of yourself as well!! And if this isn’t exactly how you imagined it I apologize as well, but still, I hope you enjoy!!
“—Builds character, apparently.”
The Ghost Crew x Reader [Platonic], Ezra Bridger x Reader [Romantic, mostly - recently established relationship]
Summary ; In which you get captured and tortured after a… lovely argument with your partner. Only to be found and brought back home a week later. Fun times.
Requested? ; Yes
Warnings ; reader get’s tortured, descriptions of violence [not too graphic], injuries, anxiety - typical canon violence for Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars in general. Also not much of a warning but touch starved Ezra!! I love him sm- also hurt comfort things too-
Word Count ; 6.6 k [my longest one so far- :00]
——————————————————————
Thinking back on it now, the argument was so small. So trivial.
So… Minimal.
Compared to now, that is. It was just a stupid thing blown out of proportions. A stupid little spat that you got in with your partner, Ezra.
Well, it’s not that stupid.
It was about him using the damn Sith holocron to get stronger. You didn’t mind that he was using it at first, sure. It helped him. Especially after what happened to Kanan. Kept him calm. Kept him strong. Kept him believing in the Force.
After all, in your minds eye, Sith and Jedi were really just two sides of the same coin.
It didn’t make too much of a difference to you, besides in methods of how each group manipulated their abilities they got from the Force, respectively.
But now, a couple years since then - and about a few months into… whatever your relationship turned out to be - he was depending on it too much. He was taking it’s teachings to the next level, which in turn made him more powerful. Which was a good thing, in some cases. It saved your asses more times than you could count, recently.
But Ezra was… much, much angrier than before.
Power hungry, almost.
And after Kanan found out he was using it - all because Ezra was dumb enough not to hide it quickly or put it away, and too oblivious at that point to even sense that Kanan was literally at his cabin door - Ezra rounded at you.
Blamed you for Kanan figuring it out. Blamed you for spilling his secrets. Blamed you for Kanan getting angry at him for his decision.
And you knew he wouldn’t actually say those things if he was really himself. You knew that he was beginning to get corrupted by that red pyramid of a holocron. You knew he was literally losing nights sleep due to nightmares, which made him more paranoid and skeptical about everything.
But damn, if it didn’t hurt like hell and make you even angrier than he was at that point.
You snapped at him. Told him you kept his secret from everyone. Told him you’d never, ever, spill any secrets of his or anyone else’s, even if you were being tortured for the truth. And you told him that you couldn’t believe he’d even accuse you for such a thing as that. You blamed the holocron, even took Kanan’s side for it - something you rarely ever did when it came down to Ezra unless of it was something serious - saying that Ezra’s gotten angry.
Too angry.
And you honestly didn’t really think you could handle it anymore. Or him in general, for that moment. So you left. Before he had anything else to say, and before he snapped out of that stunned daze that stared right into your eyes, almost completely disbelieving into the very depths of your soul. It was a heat of the moment kind of anger that made you do such a thing.
You offhandedly mumbled something about a mission you had to get to anyways, just as you quickly walked away from him, glare set on your face, hardening any kind of other emotion that threatened to come pouring out of your eyes (stars, you hated angry tears).
All of which happened about a week prior to where you were now.
Starving in a jail cell.
An imperial jail cell, locked away from everyone and everything.
—————————————
Another cough racked out of you, a wheeze accompanying it. You must have a cracked rib or something. Karabast, everything burned.
The mission you went on was supposed to take a couple days. And Hera gave it to you as a solo-operation. You needed it anyways, to cool off from the heated and stinging argument you had with Ezra before leaving.
It was simply get a few supply crates for medical purposes for the fleet. With how big the supply crates were, it should last the fleet about half a year at most - a few months at the very least. And honestly, the fleet could take anything it can get, at this point.
The crates were located in between the planets of Batonn and Denash, two planets in the Batonn sector.
You were warned to be careful. Earlier that year all three planets in that sector were taken back over by Grand Admiral Thrawn - some guy you’ve only recently heard of through transmissions from Fulcrum in the past few months - during the Batonn sector insurgency. You would be able to cloak one of the Phoenix squadron ships (since the Phantom would be in use for another mission at the time) so you wouldn’t be able to be detected by any of the imperials, or any of the imperial fleet, there.
Once cloaked, a secret message would be transmitted to you via a comm channel that only you and the disguised transporter would know about, in order to make the exchange for the medical crates. All hidden behind a few of the moons that orbited between both Batonn and Denash.
And you were careful.
At least, you were.
Clearly, the other disguised transporter wasn’t, and the plan was found out a little too late for you to realize that - especially a good few minutes after being bombarded by heavy blaster fire from the imperial fleet’s artillery. You’d think you’d realize that the moment you didn’t see the medical crates outside and connected to the transporter for an easy attachment pick-up, but no. You just had to give them the benefit of the doubt, didn’t you?
And now, here you were.
A week later.
Severely burned, bruised, and dehydrated.
And yet still somehow keeping a level head.
At least. You think.
“I told you, I have nothing to tell you.”, you spat between ragged breaths, another stick of something electric being shoved into your side again. You grit yourself teeth and strained, keeping your groaning and screaming to a minimum. You learned pretty quickly that running your vocal cords raw weren’t going to do you any good like that. Despite having to repeat yourself over and over to the imperial scum in front of you that you literally didn’t know a damn thing about what they wanted to hear from you.
Something something, plans for Lothal and it’s liberation (terrorist attack, which is what the Empire called it), and other boring stuff like where was the other rebels.
Now obviously, you weren’t going to just hand over the second part of their questions on a silver platter that easily. You never would. Not even if someone tried using the Force to get you to spit it out. You wouldn’t reveal that integral part of information, no. That’s where your friends were, that’s where your family lived, that’s where Ezra was.
You sure as hell weren’t going to give them that information for their satisfaction.
As for the first part of their questions, however, you legitimately didn’t know anything about it.
Sure, you’ve heard talks of it. Plans of getting together to actually plan it out, once the fleet was big enough. But you didn’t know specifics. After those couple of things, your knowledge of the subject was dwindled down to just some things you heard in passing conversations back at Chopper base. That was it.
And clearly, for the past longest week ever, the imperials didn’t believe you when you told them that truth.
That it wasn’t even fully planned. That they had nothing to worry about (yet). That you didn’t know anything.
A gloved hand lurched up and roughly grabbed your jaw, digging into the ever worsening bruises that littered your jaw and cheeks, forcing you to look at whoever it was. Through the swelling of your black eye that’s been getting worse for the past couple of days, all you could see was the blurry outline of the same soldier that always questioned you, looked at you and hurt you like you were the scum of the galaxy.
“The more you lie, the worse this gets”, he sneered, another jabs of burning and electricity stinging through you at his words. He shoved your face to the side as he let go of you, your head smacking into the metal slab that held you up and kept you captive in this horrific torture machine.
Another strained noise tickled the back of your throat. Another whimper of pain that you stifled to keep your sanity. At the very least, you could do whatever Ezra taught you to do best.
Annoy the hell out of these bucket heads.
“What’s that saying about insanity? Oh right”, you coughed before wheezing out a bit of forced laughter, a smirk forming over your mouth, irritating the cut lower lip that was beginning to scab over. “If - if you do something over and over again, and continuously get the same results, that makes you insane. And uh - buddy it’s been about a week, hasn’t it? You haven’t gotten anywhere—“
The restraints were unclipped from your wrists and ankles. Confusion wracked your mind before a hand grabbed at your neck and forced you back harshly on the metal slab. That time, you couldn’t stop the loud shout that sprang out from you at the sudden movements.
“Wha—“, you grunted before you can even squeeze out a sentence, a strong fist connected with your abdomen, making all the airbrush out of you at the action. You couldn’t even begin to process the pain you were in besides the electrical burns. The adrenaline and the numbness to it at that point was still ringing true in every nerve in your body.
Before the imperial soldier could even land another hit on you, or another burn, the hilt of a Lasan Bo-rifle hit the back of them at a pressure point, instantly knocking them out.
Wait.
Bo-rifle from Lasan?
You coughed and wheezed for more air the moment the soldier let go of your reddening neck and smacked onto the ground, and you were even firmly planted on the ground yet, or strapped down onto anything. So you were about to smack onto the ground yourself when you found no energy within you to keep yourself there. Gravity acted too fast on you.
“Woah, easy there kid—“, a rough voice sounded, almost distant in your ears, until a couple of purple furred hands caught you before you fell, steadying you on your shaky feet. “You alright there?”
“Zeb?”, you croaked out, looking up and squinting at who caught you. Purple fur, blurry yellow eyes, some semblance of a scowl - yep that was Zeb.
Once Zeb got a proper look at you, he grimaced with a flinch. “Oh - Karabast, kid, what did they do to you?!”
Burn marks everywhere, bruises everywhere, scratches everywhere, rips in clothing, tattered, messy hair, more sunken eyes than usual, looking dryer and skinnier. Karabast, you look worse for wear.
“Oh, yknow”, you chucked wryly, still keeping up the act of being as calm as you could. “A bit of torture, a bit of starvation and dehydration - builds character, apparently.” Zeb rolled his eyes, brow furrowed in something a lot less like annoyance and much more like worry.
Odd, you think. It’s only been a week since you were kidnapped. How worried could they have gotten?
“Spectre-4 to Spectre-2, come in.”, Zeb said immediately into the comm.
“Specter-2 to Spectre-4, Whaddya got for me, Zeb?”, answered the crackling voice of Hera on the other end, a faint sound of blaster fire behind her somewhere.
“I found them, I found Spectre-7”, Zeb said immediately into the comm.
“YOU FOUND THEM?” , came a chorus of four other voices loudly into the comms, along with the surprisingly relieved beeps of Chopper. You and Zeb flinched at the sound. Your ears weren’t as sensitive as the Lasat’s were, but damn if that sudden noise didn’t make you flinch.
Your’s and Zeb’s shared reaction caused him to look back at you as opposed to the comm in his other hand. One arm was held onto one of your biceps, which was one of the only thing keeping you from falling next to the puffer-pig dung heap on the floor. You were so much lighter than before. That was not a good sign.
“They’re not lookin’ so good.”, he said honestly, swiveling his head around just in case of any stray stormtrooper coming your guys’ way. No one answered back right away. At least, that’s why you and Zeb thought.
Comms shorted for a second.
Imperials know they’re there, trying to get you back, trying to cut off communications with one another.
“Zeb”, came another voice. Younger than Hera’s, definitely not either of the other guys. Sabine, you guessed, mind still swirling from the burning feeling of the metal, electrifying rods being stabbed into your sides, just enough to cause burns rather than cuts in the skin. “ZEB!”
Zeb exclaimed in irritation at the loud and sudden noise of the comms crackling back, deciding best that it probably wasn’t a good idea to just sit and wait for the others to find you two while under blaster fire. “WHAT!? What is it—!?”
“Talk to me, Orrelios, how bad are they??”, urged Sabine, seemingly referring to your injuries.
You grunted at the sudden lurch of being pulled into the hallway by Zeb, stumbling over your shaking feet as he didn’t stop for a second, even at the sounds of your own discomfort, the ones you wanted to keep at bay for a while now.
The lasat pulled you aside into an empty corridor once the blaster fire began to reach you guys. With a sigh of irritation, he picked you up from your knees and held you up - almost like a kid, which you still kind of were to some degree to him - and spoke into the comms once again. You laid your head on his shoulder with a groan and a wheeze, earning another concerned side-eyed glance from Zeb.
“Look, you’ll see them when we get back to the rendezvous point, just get there, got it!?” He said sharply into the comm, shoving it back into its place on his belt.
After that, conversations on the comms were just crackles and buzzes of the other members quickly trying to communicate with one another, blaster fire covering the most of it up, along with your hands at your ears. It was all just a blur at that point, really.
—————————————
Just before reaching the rendezvous point that was agreed upon, Zeb let you down to your feet again, still keeping a stabilized hand on your shoulder as you walked - hobbled, really - over to where the rendezvous was. He figured you didn’t want anyone to see that he carried you here like a child all the way there from that corridor. Karabast, you even vocalized that.
“Tell anyone you carried me like a kid and I will steal all of your snack rations from the extra food we found, got it?”, you slurred out, arm loosely wrapped around your middle as you heave a coarse cough afterwards, still trying to recover from being tortured just before Zeb found you.
“Got it.”, Zeb said to you with a small, relived chuckle. Although, that relief was short. How the hell are you still acting normal after all of that? Your normal, sarcastic-like-you-spend-way-too-much-time-with-Ezra self? Although, the sarcasm seems to be the only remaining constant with how you were from a week before, at that moment, so the Lasat can take what he can get. Beggars can’t be choosers, after all.
You arrived at the rendezvous point not a minute later, being met with a very worried sick Sabine and Hera. Hera immediately took you from Zeb’s side, an arm wrapping under one of yours as she led you back onto the Ghost. Sabine held onto your bicep of the other arm wrapped around your abdomen and stomach, keeping close by, and Zeb hovered close behind as the four of you quickly boarded the ghost.
Ezra, Kanan and Chopper were the ones in charge of the escape.
Once you were confirmed to be MIA, with chatter around the imperial gossip chain leading to fulcrum about six days into your stay at that imperial facility before it got to Chopper base, the plan was made almost in record time.
It was agreed upon that the two Jedi’s were to help escape, not fight. Not after the whole debacle with the old Clone Wars Y-Wings mission days prior to that, when Ezra’s use of the dark side got into his confidence and a little out of control during that mission - which lead to the unfortunate destruction of the Phantom.
Ezra was wholeheartedly against it, and so was Kanan.
But to Hera and the other two, it was their best bet. The moment Kanan and Ezra would’ve been found in that imperial facility would’ve made things a whole lot harder to get you out of there.
The Jedi staying behind on the Ghost was their best bet to get you out of there with as minimal attention as possible.
Well, as much as they could despite being rebels, of course.
No sooner than the doors to the Ghost closed once you were all loaded onto the ship, the freighter was immediately put into hyperdrive. Not directly to Atollan, of course - just somewhere away from that cursed place around Batonn and Denash.
The four of you all breathed a sigh of relief, you still wheezing and coughing from everything and trying to catch your breath. At this point, though, you’re pretty sure you have a cracked rib somewhere. Breathing hurt. Not just around your neck, but your sides too.
“Well, that was something”, you strained out with a forced chuckle, earning some pained looks from Sabine and Hera once they looked at the state of you.
Stars, you looked like hell.
Beeping and warbling from Chopper joined you soon afterwards, the Astro-mech flying towards you, around the loading dock that everyone who wasn’t a Jedi was in. Chopper nudged onto your leg, moving its head from side to side, almost like a nuzzling manner that your would see from a loth-cat. Zeb chuckled at the sight a bit, earning a quick zap from Chopper, and what could’ve been a curious catering of curse words and what you picked up to be “don’t tell anyone about this”, in droid language. You moved your arm from around your waist, giving Chopper a quick pat on the head, taking your hand back as he rolled away, the sounds of two sets of footsteps bounding closer on the metal of the ground scaring him off to the side.
You looked up slowly, eyes barely meeting Kanan’s, nor Ezra’s.
Well, it’s not like Kanan could actually see you. But he could hear and sense you. And the pain you’re in, despite you not being able to feel it all just yet. And he could tell you were fighting the whole time. Not giving up even the slightest bit of actual information that could help the empire. He was both equal parts relieved and absolutely horrified at that.
Force knows what kind of injuries littered the skin of your body.
Ezra, on the other hand, could see you. He couldn’t even begin to fathom what he saw.
A gulp and a shaky, quiet breath followed after he finally got to see you. A week after that stupid, stupid argument. His eyes were wide, cerulean blues scanning over each and every injury and bruise that came with your battered appearance.
You were his partner.
What did those damned imperial asshats do to his partner!?
“Hey, there’s my favorite Jedi’s!”, you forced out, your voice cutting through Ezra’s thoughts, another smile cutting through the scab on your lip even more.
Kanan gave Ezra a small pat on the back in encouragement, and Ezra wasted no time on jumping over the railing of the top deck, feet firmly planting on the lower deck of the loading dock before he enraptured you into a tight hug that almost knocked you back down onto the ground.
Hera, Sabine, and Zeb were smart enough to back away once Ezra had landed on the lower deck.
You grunted from the force, a pained wheeze accompanying it. ”Easy, Ez, pretty sure you cracked my ribs even more”, you say, sarcasm and a joking lilt covering whatever kind of fears you were feeling right then. Ezra just barely loosened his grip on you, a hand coming up to gently hold onto the back of your head as the other clutched you close around your shoulders.
His eyes were screwed shut, brows furrowed downwards as his chin pressed onto your shoulder, for another reminder that you were there. You were with him. You were in the Ghost.
You were safe.
He was still reeling at hearing the sound of your voice after not hearing it for about a week. Perhaps the longest week ever.
To say that he freaked out the moment he realized you missed your check-in time with Hera was an absolute understatement. He was already antsy during the first two days of your mission. Especially since you guys both said nothing to each other after the argument, you having left not too long afterwards. He already got a bad feeling that wouldn’t stop coursing through him - no matter how hard he tried to will it away - the moment you left him alone after you offhandedly mentioned your task once the argument ended.
And when you missed the check-in time? And the days after that?
He couldn’t sleep at all.
Went through one too many scenarios through his head that made him anxious to no end in sight. Not even Hera or Kanan could help him through that one.
He grew irritable when he was told to wait for further instructions on the matter of your disappearance. He wanted to go out and find you - maybe pay a visit to whoever the hell kept you away from the base for so long. Man, even Sabine and Zeb were willing to join him on that endeavor before the transmission from Fulcrum came through. Once Fulcrum said your name and stated the now-debunked-as-true rumors of you being captured in an imperial facility for questioning, all thoughts of his previous idea flew out the window.
He remembers how the air left his lungs when Zeb’s voice crackled through the comms to speak to Hera about finding you, Kanan and him being tapped into the frequency just incase anything else happened while they were on the Ghost, waiting for the rest of the Spectres to come home with you in tow with them for the escape. It was difficult to breathe for a few seconds.
Zeb found you.
And then, of course, he remembers the fear and anger that rushed in at what Zeb said about your state of being. What he wouldn’t give to have beat up whoever thought was a good idea to torture people for information - especially whoever thought it was a good idea to do that to you. Everyone knew immediately what Zeb was referring to when he said you didn’t look too good. You were injured. And from Zeb’s tone of voice, the injuries were bad.
And now, here you were. Held in his arms, safe back on the home you called the Ghost, with him being absolutely unable to bring himself out of the hug. He can breath easier now, now that you’re at home.
“Ez, ‘m fine”, you said with a laugh. Still trying to remain calm. “You can let go of me, y’know?”
Ezra shook his head no stubbornly, eyebrows furrowing inwards a bit more for just a second at the idea, knowing damn well he got a roll from the eyes from you. That wasn’t going to change his mind about holding you at all.
“Ezra seriously my ribs are starting to hurt—“
He loosened his grip enough to pull away from you, not before pulling a surprising move and lifting you up into his arms. One arm still clung around your shoulders, and the other hooked underneath your knees. You gasped in surprise at the action, but the gasp was a little to sharp for your body’s reaction, so immediately afterwards you coughed away from him and into your elbow, trying to catch your breath, your other arm slung around Ezra’s neck instinctively.
After a bit more of you catching your breath after a few seconds, Ezra sighs shortly in relief, and makes his way towards the ladders with you, still in his arms. The adrenaline was still there for you, just slowly waning, enough for you to get tired enough not to protest Ezra’s actions.
“What are you doing?”, Hera asked him once he started climbing out the ladder to the deck above the loading dock. The arm around your shoulders was helping him climb, your arm strong enough to hold yourself up, while his other arm stayed hooked underneath your legs.
“Gonna help with their injuries.”, he told Hera curtly.
“We have a team of medics at the base to—“
“I know.”
Ezra’s voice was sharp at that answer, even just the slightest bit of annoyed, stunning a bit of silence out of Hera at his reaction. The rest of the crew watched as he disappeared back into the Ghost with you wrapped up in his arms.
For a second, Hera took a step towards the ladders, having half a mind to follow the two of you, before Kanan’s voice called out to her from the balcony.
“Let him help. They’ll be fine with him. Think they both need some time together after the past week we just had.” He explained to her calmly. Hera only stared at him for a long minute, before looking at a random part of the Ghost below them both, sighing at his words.
He was right.
You both needed this.
—————————————
“You really said that to the guy?”, Ezra asked incredulously, voice the softest it’s ever been around you. He was busy cleaning off the dried blood from your visible cuts, having already just cleaned, bandaged, and put burn salve on the electrical burns all over your middle and sides. The burn salve was long over due for them, and you visibly relaxed when the burns were finally covered in the soothing, cooling substance. That should take away the sting that ebbed away at your nerves.
“Hey, it really was the definition of insanity in there!”, you said with a chuckle as you defended your word choices. Which, granted, prompted you to get choked by the guy before Zeb stepped in, so it probably wasn’t the best word choice, but still. It was better than nothing. “Couldn’t help it, Ezra. I spend too much time with you to not say something, yknow.”
That comment coaxed a small smile out of Ezra, a gentle hum of a chuckle already being pushed through him. But it still wasn’t enough to make him laugh all the way. At least it got him to smile, though, even for a little bit.
He was cleaning off a couple of the cuts on one of your hands, attention staying on that hand as he let the small smile turn the corners of his mouth upwards.
“There’s the smile I missed for the past week”, you said, your other hand coming up to cup the left side of his cheek. Your thumb lightly grazed over the two shallow indents of scars left by the inquisitors a couple years prior, and he leaned into the feeling of your hand on his cheek, stopping his small mission of getting you patched up himself, and relishing in your touch. Even if it’s for a few seconds before he got back to work.
One week without any knowledge of how you were doing was enough to make him realize how much he really, really missed you during the longer missions. He missed your hugs, your talks, the banter. He’d give anything to prevent another week like this one from happening again.
One week without him around was enough to make you worry. What kind of lengths he’d go through to get anyone back. To get you back. That is, if he fully turned to the darkside of the Force. Sure, two sides of the same coin with the light side of the Force and everything, but it still harbored some level of fear in you. Luckily, though, it seemed like Kanan knocked some sense in him. That or your disappearance and subsequent torturing - but honestly you’re hoping it’s not the latter. You’re just glad he’s ok. That he isn’t hurt. That he’s here and he’s safe, and that you protected the secrets of the Ghost and Chopper Base without breaking to anything the imperial facility threw at you. That was an accomplishment in its own right. And you were glad that you were able to keep those secrets safe.
And that you were able to keep Ezra safe.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when a thumb swiped over the split cut that was on your lower lip. Ezra just barely grazed it, but it still hurt, and made you wince a little bit at the touch. Only by a smidge.
To cover that up, however, you decided to joke around a bit.
“If you wanted a kiss you could’ve just asked”, you said, snickering a little at Ezra’s eye roll, and the red that began to tinge his ears. He closed his eyes and shook his head with a chuckle, and your smile grew. That got him to laugh.
His hand moved to hold the side of your neck, just below your jawline. Part of his hand still rested on it, more so at the corner, and just underneath the skin of your ear. The touch was careful, and his thumb lightly brushed against the bruising on your jaw. He gently pulled your head closer, and his forehead lightly bumped against yours, his nose lightly nudging against the side of your own, all in an attempt to get more calm and comfortable.
And it worked.
He took in a breath, and let out a sigh, the tension in his shoulders finally leaving after a couple seconds of the breath.
“Sorry about the argument”, he mumbled the apology, eyes tilted downwards, focus on the ground. “I shouldn’t have—“
“Hey”, you cut him off, knuckle from your free hand coming up, gently nudging his chin up so he could look at you, eyes that swirled with the power of the Force onto yours, that only caught the reflection of the light in the room, and the reflection of Ezra in front of you. “That was just a stupid argument. That doesn’t matter now.”
“But it does!”, he exclaimed in a whisper, irises boring into yours. You swear, you could see your own soul reflected through them. ”I went out of line and blamed you for being careless and—“
“You really think that argument has any affect on me right now?”, you ask, raising a brow. “Karabast, I was literally tortured, I would love to go back to when that argument was the most of my worries.”
That was only last week that that argument happened. So trivial, compared to the events that unfurled.
So trivial compared to the burns on your sides, the ache in your ribs, the twinges of pain from your bruises and the black eye that plagued your left eye.
It hurt emotionally, sure.
But what you wouldn’t give to go back to that being the only kind of pain that swirled in your mind.
Before even you realized what was happening, through the haze of the loud thoughts that made up your mind at the moment, Ezra’s other hand disconnected from the rag that cleaned up your dried blood, and reconnected with your other cheek on the other side of your face, away from the black eye. He nudged away a stray tear with one of his knuckles, and brushed his thumb over the swell of your cheek once more began to slowly tumble out. Mainly from the one eye you could actually see out of properly, the one eye that went wide after you mentioned the torture you endured, the one eye that let that tear go loose, providing other tears with enough confidence to start falling as well.
“I was tortured, Ezra.” Your voice went quiet, strained.
It was only then that you realized just how horrified you were.
Strange, how some feelings of anxiety didn’t pop up until way later, once you were actually processing whatever kind of traumatic event you just went through. Other times the anxiety bubbles up pretty quickly, during whatever you were going through - even if it was just a normal, calm situation that somehow made your anxiety act up. But this time, it took you a week to actually feel the damned fear that wouldn’t actually allow you to sleep very much throughout the time you were being held at the facility.
Then again, you were also doing your best to keep a level head the whole time. To keep yourself from spilling anything. To keep yourself sane.
Maybe it was the fact that you were finally in the comfort of your own home, in front of your partner no less, that made you feel comfortable enough to grab onto the bad feelings again, rather than to just force them down until they were too much for you.
Your eyes blurred Ezra out of focus due to the burning tears that bubbled up behind your eyelids. You screwed them both shut, and gulp with a shaky breath. Ezra furrowed his brow again - this time, however, they were pointed more upwards than downwards.
Still keeping his hands in the same places on your neck and cheek, he lifted his head from resting against yours and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, staying there for a couple seconds, just to linger. Mainly for his own comfort, to remind himself you were physically there with him, and also to remind you of that as well.
After that he wrapped you up in another hug, gentler this time. One you leaned into, your forehead coming to rest on his shoulder, near the crook of his neck. The hand on your cheek moved to the back of your head, lightly pressed into your hair, and his other hand on the side of your neck, just under your jawline and ear, moved to your back, pulling you forward for the hug that you graciously accepted.
He nudged his nose onto the crown of your head, placing another soft and comforting kiss there. “Took you that long to figure it out, huh?”, he murmured, voice soft with an air of humor. Just the slightest lilt to make things much less strenuous than they seemed.
“Shut up, Bridger”, you sniffed, lightly punching his arm, a chuckle spilling out between the both of you. The hug tightened just a little bit, the hand you punched Ezra’s arm with holding onto the sleeve of his orange jacket he always wore.
“Sorry, sorry”, he apologized, laying his cheek down on the top of your head. “Had to joke about this somehow, right?”
You let out a breathy laugh, followed by a sigh, quiet and exhausted. “Right…”
A silence fell over the two of you. Ezra let out a sigh through his nose a couple minutes into it. “You’re safe now, ok? You know that, right?”
The message was quiet, a soft mumble only meant for your ears. The tension in your own shoulders began to ease a little, much like his minutes beforehand.
Your arm moved from his jacket to around his neck again, pulling the hug even closer, just to be nearer to him. Just for more comfort. For your peace of mind to remind yourself that you’re home.
You’re safe.
You’re with Ezra.
Things are fine for now.
Everything will be alright for now.
Just for right now. Which is all you could ask for at that moment.
“I know.”, you mumbled back. You sigh out of relief, of being there with Ezra, in the comforting arms of home, in the surprisingly comforting metal rooms of home, deciding against breaking the hug for the time being.
Until Ezra broke it himself.
“Oh c’mon, Ez!”, you complained. “I was just getting comfortable, dude!”
“You were falling asleep on me”, he responded back, grabbing the rag he was using to clean off the dried blood from your injuries strewn about your skin. He stood up to get more water for it, along with a cooler ice-pack for the nasty bruise on your eye.
“Like I said, I was just getting comfortable!”
“You can get comfortable and sleep on my shoulder after I’m done taking care of your injuries - and after we’re sure you don’t have a concussion.”
“I’m pretty sure I don’t have a concussion.”
“I’m not convinced.”
You groan, leaning back on your arms as Ezra gathers the supplies you need from one of the medical kits that came from the medical crates you were supposed to get from your mission beforehand. “Stars, you’re just as stubborn as Chopper - like friend like droid, y’know?”, you say with a playful scoff.
Ezra laughed. It was less of a chuckle now, more genuine. Good. You liked it when he laughed. “I could say the same thing about you, y’know—“ you interrupted him with a indignant noise, absolutely appalled that he would ever compare your stubbornness to the astro-mech. You were the only one allowed to do that, how dare he?
“I’m not that stubborn—“
Another laugh bubbled out from Ezra, and you couldn’t help but smile at it. It was a noise that never failed to brighten your day, even in the darkest of hours.
A chuckle made it’s way out of your throat again as a smile pulled at the corners of your mouth, and you shook your head a little, the banter between you both continuing. Just like normal.
Just like home.
Maybe some things were definitely worth getting tortured over.
If you could keep the base safe, the Ghost safe, and Ezra safe, you’d do it all over again, no matter what.
You’d always protect your home from the Empire.
Even if your home wasn’t always protecting you.

Strawhats with a Lolita member
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: The straw hats just boarded into a new island. But, not like any others. This island was all white and black. Until they met you. The reader also has Daki's demon art technique. This was the request REQUEST are open (IM BEGGING) word count: 1.6k
Tumblr media
The straw hats first met you on a gloomy island. Due to the lack of vibrant colors, everyone's in formal and dark clothing. Everyone except you. Your background was a blur. You grew up on the other side of the island and only come to the town when you need something.
Tumblr media
Today was always the same. You wore your tall heels and grabbed your ribbon bag. You looked at your mirror one last time to check your makeup and fix your black and pink hair.
You leave your pastel house and start walking to the town. Your frilly dress bounces on every step you make, along with all the little decorations and the big ribbon on your back. Your creamy stockings hug your smooth and perfect thighs. Your parasol, walking beside you, waiting to be opened and used.
Tumblr media
The walk to the town was short. All kinds of animals surrounded you. Hostile or not. You were an eye candy on the gloomy island, the only one with colors and a devil fruit.
You looked at the harbor. A ship has arrived. The Jolly Roger is a skull with two crossed bones underneath and a straw hat on top. You looked back at the market, trying to find people standing out.
You opened your parasol and took out your creamy fan, holding it below your eyes. There, you saw a young man with a straw hat, the captain, you presume. Next to him was a girl with tangerine hair and a man with curly eyebrows. Your island doesn't often get visitors. The last time someone came, they never went back to the sea.
There is a saying if you offend the island and do something wrong. At night, sashes will wrap around your body and slowly absorb you.
"Hey! I've been trying to call you for the last 5 minutes." The voice whined. You snapped out of your thoughts--making a little sound, and you looked at the man. He looks like a plank separated by its group.
"What's your name, and why are you the only one glowing?" the tall, lanky man asked.
"Y/n…" you quietly muttered. The fan was a great asset today. Covering your pink blush and trembling mouth.
"Hm…do you know anything about t-" "Luffy! Stop running a- A LADY~"
"Oh, uhm…" You were starting to get uncomfortable. Today was just supposed to be like yesterday and the day before. While the two were busy fighting among themselves, you had run off and went to one of the instrument stores.
There, you saw a tall man's back. He had an afro and, by the neck--an orange scarf. He also had a gold top hat and a cane on his side. The tall man turned around and, to your horror, a skeleton. Before it could open its mouth, your devil fruit accidentally activated, and your sashes were wrapped around the skeleton, ending it with a ribbon.
You gasped and mumbled a quick sorry, then left the store. Today has been unpleasant. You left the town while holding your mirror, making your hair and makeup look good. When you were away from the townsfolk, you used your fruit and made your ribbons carry you.
Tumblr media
Various thoughts entered your mind. But the forest was calming you down. You looked around you-- and a woman with sunglasses and a bag stepped out of the shadow.
"That was an interesting ability, miss." The lady said.
You looked at the mysterious woman. Her clothes and accessories fit her. "Oh, uh, thank you!" You answered cheerfully.
"I saw a house on the other side of the island. It was hard to ignore it, especially the color the owner chose. With all the evidence I gathered, you were the legend the people were discussing. Ribbons and sash?"
You tilted your head to the side and asked, "How do you know?"
The woman chuckled and answered, "I saw what you did to my friend Brook. I asked the locals about the ribbons. They said that pirates only left their clothing behind, no bones or skin," she continued, "I must say what you're doing here is heroic. But don't you get ever tired from the lack of color?"
I left my ribbon vehicle and finally spoke, "This place wasn't white and black. It used to be full of color and life. One day, I was exploring the forest all by myself. I never made any friends. They said my style was too childish. My friends were animals, and I was hanging out with them. One of the red pandas gave me a strawberry. Instead of its usual dots, it got replaced with tiny carved ribbons. I ate it since my friend gave it to me. It tasted weird, and I passed out. When I woke up, the island had no color except for me. I want to help my people first."
The woman said, "Have you never thought you were the problem?"
I gasped. Me? What did I ever do?
"I'm not saying that you are. But what if? Me and my crew are going to depart tomorrow. I could show you around the ship. All your belongings are in the Thousand Sunny."
"I- can I at least check the ship first?"
Tumblr media
Now, here you are in front of the Thousands Sunny. You entered the big ship, holding your fan just below your eyes. There was no one, and the only light source was on the second floor towards the back of the ship.
"Oh, by the way, my name is Nico Robin. You can call me Robin."
After the tour, you find out the men sleep on the first floor while the girls sleep on the second floor. Speaking of sleep, the crew arranged your corner neatly. You had your vanity and a lot of picture frames. Your bed also had a lot of frilly and curtains, and the wardrobe filled with Lolita and Victorian dresses.
Tumblr media
"Let's go to the last room. The dining room." Robin said.
There, you two entered the room. All of the straw hat members except Robin were eating happily.
"I'll introduce you to all of them. The man with the straw hat is our captain, Luffy. The girl with the orange hair is our navigator, Nami. The guy with the long nose is our sniper, Ussop. The guy wearing a suit is the ship's cook, Sanji. The reindeer is the ship's doctor, Chopper. The tall man is a cyborg and is the crew's shipwright, Franky. The skeleton, the guy you packaged neatly, is the musician, and his name is Brook. Lastly, the Fishman is the helmsman, and his name is Jinbei. Let's eat with them."
You walked behind Robin, your fan still in front of your face.
"Oh, it's you!" Nami yelled. "LADY~" Sanji shouted.
You winced from the roaring noise and instinctively opened your umbrella to avoid them. Robin noticed you shifting and held your hand, then closed your umbrella. Sanji served you food, and you sat on the counter.
That night was lovely and fun. The crew, even though it looked chaotic at first, was pleasant. Everybody's different personalities make you fit in like the last puzzle piece. The ship made you feel needed. It made you feel wanted.
You left the dining area and stared outside. In front, you could see the vast ocean. But if you look back, you can see your colorful island. Colorful island?
Was I the problem all along?
"So, do you accept my offer now?" You look beside you to see Robin also staring at the island. You closed your umbrella and shifted your body, staring at her.
"I do."
Tumblr media
The next day, you woke up in your bed. Last night was a bit of a blur. Luffy was cheering that someone new joined, and all the crew were doing whatever. You went to the girl's room and immediately passed out.
You stood up and looked at the mirror, observing the heart-shaped beauty mark below your right eye. You took out some new clothes, a white dress stopping at your thighs. You also took a pair of socks that reached your knees and arm warmers, stopping at your shoulders.
You look at the room Nami and Robin, sleeping peacefully.
After showering, you went to the girl's room and put your hair into pigtails, using two large ribbons as hair ties.
You finally left the room and went down to the first floor. There, mostly all of the straw hats were chilling.
"Are we leaving now?" You asked
"Yeah, the log post finally worked, and we're now going to the next island," Franky replied
You stared back at your island, slowly drifting away.
"I hope the animals will be--"
"I saw some marines just east from here," Zoro yelled from the top nest.
The next thing you knew, cannonballs were being launched at you.
Half of the crewmembers were still asleep. The only ones awake were Sanji, Zoro, and Jinbei.
"Don't worry. There are only two ships. I can handle it." You said.
The three looked at each other and nodded. Then, all went back to work.
You used your ribbons and stretched them to make them larger and larger. You wrapped the two ships like a present and ended it with a large bow.
You turn your gaze toward the direction of your island, feeling a sense of loss as it disappears from your view. However, the presence of your friends by your side gives you a glimmer of hope and comfort. It's hard to adjust, but having friends nearby makes it peaceful.
Tumblr media

Ice Skating{Luffy, Chopper, Usopp + Reader}
Rules Word Count: 0.6k Spoilers: None
Tumblr media
"Hurry up! Usopp and Chopper are already there!"
You struggled to keep up as Luffy dragged you by your jacket collar. White snow filtered down upon the ground around you, freezing everything it touched. You, Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper had all decided to go ice skating on the lake together today and the straw-hatted boy couldn't be any more enthusiastic.
"LUFFY, YOU'RE GOING TO DIE IF YOU DON'T WEAR A COAT!" Chopper shouted when he noticed the two of you approaching in the distance.
Luffy only laughed, "I'll be fine, it's only snow."
Luffy had on his regular sleeveless shirt and shorts. He even argued that he'd be fine to skate in his sandals and that he didn't need actual skates.
Chopper looked over at you in disappointment for not getting him to wear a coat. You just shrugged, you weren't sure how he expected you to convince your stubborn captain of anything.
"That doesn't matter," Usopp said waving his hands dismissively, "What matters is that I, the Great Usopp, am going to teach you how to skate." The long-nosed man claimed, pointing at himself with his thumb proudly.
"Yes!" Luffy exclaimed, excitedly throwing his hands up, before walking onto the ice in his open-toed shoes. The three of you watched as he slipped around ungracefully on the ice before falling over.
Usopp stared at him hopelessly before turning to you and asking, "You at least brought skates, right?"
You smiled, holding up the pair of skates, "Yeah, don’t worry.”
Luffy hardly listened to Usopp's words as he ‘skated’ around on the ice. At least that’s what he called it, he was more just launching himself from one side of the lake to the other, only stopping when he tripped into the snow surrounding the iced water. You, however, learned very quickly with Usopp's help and were soon able to ACTUALLY skate with the other two.
“Must be nice being born on a winter island, I bet you never get cold.” You said to the reindeer beside you. You were a little envious of the tiny doctor as you got cold very fast.
“It also helps that I’m naturally meant to live in cold places,” He added, “but it’s terrible when it’s humid, remember?”
“Ahh, I forgot about that.” You admitted sheepishly.
Tall trees stood around the four of you, empty of anything but the frost that stuck to their bark and branches. The harsh wind occasionally caused the limbs to collide with one another. Forests in the winter truly were a world of their own, everything felt alive.
You averted your attention when you noticed the sheer dread in Usopp’s eyes. The long-nosed man visibly started to sweat when the ice started cracking. The three of you looked over to see what was causing the lake to shatter like it was, only to see Luffy carelessly jumping around and hitting the ice.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING, LUFFY?!” Chopper yelled over to the captain as he held onto your leg for support.
“There’s a fish trapped down there!” He called back, continuing to throw punches at the ice.
“LUFFY STOP.” Usopp cried out nervously, before frantically running off the ice, dragging you and Chopper along with him.
“YOU CAN’T SWIM, STOP TRYING TO BREAK THE ICE.” Chopper cried out.
He stopped, but it didn't matter, the lake was already starting to collapse in on itself. His rubber arms stretched to wrap around you as he flung himself over to where you all were standing.
The raven-haired man began to laugh, “C’mon guys, the lake’s broken, let’s go explore the woods now!”

WAIT WAIT Hear me out , what if Platonic Yandere! Strawhats ... As Mermaids/Mermans with Human!Y/n ?
Let's say people that Strawhats meeted either hated them or tried to kill them until they got into fish trap and Y/n sees that Strawhats are quite injured and can't get out so Y/n helps them then runs away because they are hella scared?
I hope this is good! I kinda rushed it so I could have it done before the end of the month.
(Don't) Face Your Fears
Yandere Merfolk Straw Hats x GN!Reader
1.8k words
Part 2
Tumblr media
Deep breathes, you remind yourself. Deep breathes.
It was taking everything you had not to turn tail and run, but you stood your ground. You need to face this. You won’t be able to grow if you don’t. Waves crashed onto the shore ahead of you, the noise not allowing you to forget for a second where you were. The salty and fishy scent in the air was also a strong reminder.
You’re not even sure where this fear came from. You can’t recall some traumatic memory revolving around the ocean, you just hated it. The mystery of what hellish creatures lurked beneath the surface, the mere idea of being lost at sea, drowning, it all terrified you.
All your life you’ve done your best to avoid the ocean despite living so close to it, but now you are trying to face it. You didn’t want to spend the rest of your life trapped by your own fears. What if you want to leave this island one day but can’t bring yourself to do so because you’re too scared to get on the boat?
You’ve made some progress, a lot really. Being able to stand on the beach like this was something you couldn’t have done a month ago. Tonight, though, you were going to take this a step forward. You hated doing this at night, but you were too embarrassed about your fear to risk people seeing you potentially freaking out over some water.
Your bare feet dug into the sand as you tried to will yourself to relax and step towards the water. It’s fine. Everything is going to be fine. You’re just going to wade ankle deep in the water and then call it a night. That’s it.
Ignoring the pounding of your heart and the sweat starting to form, you take the necessary steps, bringing yourself onto the wet part of the sand. You cringed at the sensation, not enjoying it even a little bit.
You stood there and waited for the tide to come back in, forcing yourself to stand still. Finally, dreadfully, a wave comes in and laps at your feet. Your first gut response involves dry heaving and wanting to run away, but you endure. It’s barely touched you, you need to tough it out.
Despite every nerve of your body violently disagreeing with this idea of yours, you take another step forward. More water rushes over your feet. It’s cold, but not freezing. It almost feels nice in contrast to the humid summer air.
Now, you decide to wait here and adjust, forcing your breathing to even out again. As the minutes tick by, you find yourself not minding it as much as you initially did. If you closed your eyes, you could almost pretend you were simply soaking your feet in the river by your home. Maybe you’ll be able to enjoy this? Maybe.
Shockingly, you found yourself walking through the water. Not deeper into it, simply staying at the same depth and wading along the shore. The silence was peaceful, and you found that your previously thundering heartbeat was slowing to a more normal rate. Against all odds and expectations, you couldn’t help but smile slightly. This was incredible progress for you, and you were proud of yourself.
The atmosphere changes as you hear something in the distance. Splashing, and a lot of it. It sounded too loud to just be a fish. Was it a person? Was someone drowning? You ran towards the source of the noise. As you got closer, you could hear yelling over all the splashing, too. It sounded like several people. What the hell was happening?
“Hello? Is everyone alright?” You called out, trying to get a feel for what was going on before you got there.
The splashes stopped, but you did get a response, “Hello? Who’s there?” The voice sounded feminine and distressed. Scared even.
You were getting close enough to be able to start to make out the people. There were a lot of them, at least five, but they were moving around too much to be able to count clearly. All of them were caught in a net.
“I’m (y/n). I was going for a walk when I heard you guys, and I wanted to see if you needed help,” which they most certainly did. How did that many people manage to get caught in a fishing net like this?
“We do! Can you cut this net open?” A different voice piped up, this one sounding like a young boy.
You could do that, there was a knife strapped to your belt that you kept there both for functionality and self defense. There was a problem though. They were deeper into the water than you were. If you went out to them, you would be waist deep. Much farther than you were prepared to go so soon.
Your hesitance didn’t go unnoticed. “Please! We need to get out of this! Some of my friends are hurt and we can’t treat them while we’re all stuck like this!” The same voice from before desperately pleaded.
Nausea rumbled deep in your stomach, but not just from the ocean this time. You couldn’t just leave a bunch of people to die because you were scared of a little water. Okay, a lot of water, but you won’t even have to swim. It’s going to be okay. You can do this. You will do this.
Forcing yourself to take deep breaths, you march forward. Miraculously, the rising water doesn’t crumble your resolve. You don’t look down at the water, purposefully focusing on the net ahead of you. You need to get them freed, and you need to do it now before you can have a chance to chicken out.
Unbuckling the holster for your knife, you unsheath it and get to work trying to cut through the thick rope of the fishing net. There was a lot of resistance, but you didn’t give up. The segment you were sawing your knife through snapped and you immediately moved on to the next one, vying to get a big enough opening for them to squeeze through.
There were loud cheers from a few of them as the net came undone enough for them to get out. They wasted no time and all headed for the opening to slip through. You held it open for them, wanting them to get out as quickly as possible.
The first one escapes, and that’s when you feel it. Something large and slimy brushes against your exposed legs. What? That was just a big fish, right? Maybe even an errant piece of seaweed. As the rest of the group filed out, you felt the same sensation on your legs each time.
These… These people were human… Right?
Chills were running down your spine as you questioned what exactly you were dealing with here. Before you could back away or ask questions, one of them approached you. He didn’t just come up to you, no. He full on threw himself out of the water and wrapped his arms around your torso.
“Thank you for saving us! We don’t get a lot of help from humans most of the time, so I’m really happy that one as nice as you came to our rescue!” This was the same boy that had spoken to you moments before to beg for help. He smiled widely at you, and the moonlight reflecting off the water was enough for you to be able to make out his too sharp teeth. As well as the fins on the sides of his head where ears should be.
Oh my God. Merfolk. This is a merman and you’re surrounded by more of them. Every rumor you’ve heard about them comes to mind instantly in one big violent pang. That they love nothing more than to drag any poor unsuspecting human they come across out into the ocean to drown them. That they would eat you after you died. That they could curse humans into becoming like them.
No. No no no nO NO NO!
With a scream, you shove the merman off of you and make a break for the shore. You get there faster than you thought humanly possible and kept running, not looking back. Fuck this. Fuck them. Fuck the ocean. Fuck everything you’re never going near the ocean ever again for as long as you live!
The merfolk could only sit in the shallow water and stare at your rapidly retreating and screaming form.
“I suppose they didn’t know we were merfolk when they helped us,” Robin mused.
“I like them,” Luffy was positively beaming despite being thrown off you seconds before. He’d crawled closer to the shore to watch you leave, his tail loudly splashing in the water behind him.
“Of course you do, you like everyone that looks at you twice,” Zoro scoffed, waving a webbed hand dismissively. He winced when the action strained one of his injuries, causing Chopper to snap at him to hold still.
“No, I really like them! I want to see them again! I bet that if we talk for a bit, they’ll come around,” Luffy nodded resolutely, already imagining what he’s going to say next time he sees you.
“How are you going to do that? I doubt that they’re going to go anywhere near the ocean for a long time,” Nami pointed out.
This gave Luffy pause, but only for a brief moment. His eyes lit up as an idea struck him, “There’s a river that goes through this island, right? I can use that to try and see them again. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they live along it!”
“At least let one of us come with you, you have no tact throwing yourself at them like you did,” Sanji could tell that this would take a certain level of finesse that their captain absolutely did not have. No doubt he would up and drag you into the water with him if you were close enough to do so.
“You’re only saying that because you want to see them again, too,” Zoro splashed water in Sanji’s direction, extinguishing the cigarette he finally had a chance to enjoy. Naturally, this caused a fight between the two to break out, with Sanji slapping Zoro with his tail while Chopper was yelling at both of them to cut it out.
Luffy didn’t pay them any mind. While your form may have vanished from sight, he could still follow your scent. Even if you weren’t right next to the riverbed, he wasn’t opposed to dragging himself across land to get to you. Now that he had your scent, there’s nowhere on this small island you could hide to stay away from him.

Hey, I’m glad you liked my protective pirate crew. It was nice to write for people who just accept the reader as they are. There’s not enough of that in our world. I’m still going to make the character fairly young since the original request was for a young reader, so aside from Chopper, they’re kind of the ‘baby’ of the group (Chopper will always be baby, even if he’s older than the reader). Also, sorry this took so long, I kept trying to write it before going "nope, hate that."
Looking up at the shopkeeper, you tried not to whimper. It was supposed to be a simple task to restock the ship. Go in, tell them what you needed, pay, and get back to the ship. But of course, this shopkeeper, despite being a relatively frail looking old man, had to be a jerk. You knew you’d counted the money out correctly, you knew this for a fact, hell, Nami had counted out an estimated amount beforehand and that woman was so tight about money that not only was she rarely that far off, but there’s no possible way you could have ‘miscounted’. Still, face-to-face with the shopkeeper, you couldn’t bring yourself to argue that you had paid him enough, you’d barely been able to tell him what you needed and pay for it. A loud bang made you flinch, simultaneously drawing the shopkeeper’s attention away from you.
“Y/n! There you are! Nami said you were late so we should check on you.” Luffy’s upbeat voice called, his large smile greeting you when you looked over. Flanking him on either side were Zoro and Sanji who simply glared at the shopkeeper as you rushed over to the men.
“Mind telling us what’s going on here?” Zoro growled as Sanji pushed you behind him.
“That little wretch didn’t pay me the correct amount! She still owes me money!” the man shouted, pointing at you as you hid further behind Sanji. Tugging at the blond’s jacket, you looked up at him helplessly.
“He’s lying. I’m sorry. I wanted to tell him he’s wrong. I’m sorry.” you whimpered, burying your head into his dark clothes. You felt a weight press down on your head followed by an arm wrapping around you, starting to lead you away. Looking up, you noticed the brim of a familiar straw hat obscuring your view, a familiar soft hand on your shoulder as Robin led you away, giving you one of her usual, soft, comforting smiles.
“Don’t worry, Y/n. You did great.” Chopper’s cheery voice said from beside you, his small hoof taking your hand as he gave you a smile. Despite the puffball looking younger than you at times, he was always looking out for you just as much as the others, cheering you on when he wasn’t outright protecting you.
Watching Nami go on a rant about the shopkeeper as soon as you’d finished telling her made you giggle, the young woman practically breathing fire and storming off herself to confront the shopkeeper as you sat under one of the trees. The soothing song that Brook often played to help you calm down after a confrontation quickly had you drifting off in Robin’s arms, the young woman still comforting you, protecting you even though the ‘danger’ had long since passed. They’d protect you, not just from other pirates or marines, not just from the dangers of the sea or the monsters that lurked beneath the waves. They’d protect you from those who sought to bother you, those who sought to change you, and those who sought to frighten you. Because just like they were perfect the way they were, you were perfect the way you were, shyness and all. Walking back aboard the ship laughing, the three powerhouses of the Strawhat crew smiled over at you, supplies still loaded up on their shoulders.
“Is she alright? Not too upset I hope?” Sanji asked, kneeling down next to you as you slept.
“She’s fine. I think he was just a little too confrontational for her.” Robin said with a smile, comforting hand placed on your back as you snuggled your head further into her chest. Luffy gave a small laugh, gently taking his hat back and placing it back on his head. As happy as he was that it brought you comfort, you were asleep and he felt a little naked without it.
“Then we’ll just go with her next time! We can protect her better that way. Besides, if we send her with Zoro then he won’t get lost and she’ll have someone to look out for her.” Luffy said, his usual sunny smile on his face.
“Like you’re any better. You get lost just as easily.” Zoro snapped, giving the rubber boy a look, one that softened as he turned his eyes back to you, “I suppose I can look out for her, though. Not like I do much else when we’re in town.” Zoro said, smirking. You were the young, shy crewmember, one that they’d protect, even if it was just from other people.

I have to be dreaming (Chapter 2)
Tumblr media
series masterlist~~AO3~~regular masterlist
I forgot to mention this, but there will be more yanderes than just the strawhats.
---
A few hours past after the whole debacle with the Masira pirates and by that time things had calmed down. Treasure was spread across the floor, Luffy playfully prancing around in full armor.
"All you brought back was junk." Nami yelled, "None of this can tell us how to get up to the sky!"
"We couldn't find anything but that map!" Zoro says, shrugging towards Nami. Sanji nodded, the smoke from the cigarette floating around him.
"Somebody beat us to the ship." He said, taking the cigarette out of his mouth and blowing some smoke. "Either that, or the people on that ship had slaughtered each other."
Nami crosses her brows, pointing at the two men, "Then we're going to need more information." She says.
"At least we found a map." You said looking towards Luffy, him clattering around while swinging a broken sword. Nami follows your gaze, sagging her shoulders at the sight.
"What's that Luffy?"
"Armor." He responds, before it shatters, him falling to the ground. "Hey it broke!" He yells, Usopp and Chopper running towards him, trying to gather all the pieces. You sigh, trying to block out all the sounds around you.
"You seem to be having a hard time, and it's not going to get any easier." You hear Robin speak to Nami, before slowly covering your ears. It was all too much, every word causing your head to ache. You wanted to fall asleep, and never wake up.
"Okay! Jaya! Full speed ahead!" You hear Luffy yell, and you sigh. You move to sit next to Nami, her giving you a sympathetic look while rubbing your back.
"Hold on! If we go straight to Jaya, won't the log reset itself? Then we won't be able to go to the sky island." Usopp mentions, Luffy immediately freaking out.
"Then we're not going to Jaya!" You roll your eyes at him while Nami tilts his head at him.
"You wanted to go to Jaya, didn't you." Luffy nods.
"Yeah, but I want to go to the sky island too." He pouts.
Nami puts her arms on her hips, "Well that's your fault. You have to think ahead Luffy. You know how the log pose works."
Luffy puts some food in his mouth, thinking, while you relax further into your position, attempting to quiet the world. "All right listen! I'm the captain so I'm gonna choose our destination. I wanna go to the sky island!"
"How do we get there, Luffy." You speak up, him looking towards you and your relaxed position. Your eyes were closed, and you sounded nearly half asleep. He swallows some food, dawning a smile you couldn't see.
"Well, the best thing is to ask someone, let's ask somebody on Jaya." Usopp says.
"The log pose won't reset immediately, why not go to Jaya and leave before the log pose can lock onto another magnetic field." Robin suggests. Chopper, Luffy, and Usopp all nod while munching on food, Nami agreeing.
Luffy jumps, excited, "All right, to Jaya!"
---
You felt someone talk a harsh plop next to you, opening an eye to look, it appears to be Zoro. He looked bored, all of you still waiting to get to Jaya. That paired with the nice summer sun made it a perfect time for napping.
For a while it was quiet, the only other sounds being seagulls and the murmurs of others. "Y'know, I never thanked you for saving me." You whisper lightly to him. "I don't know what I would be doing if it weren't for you..."
Zoro doesn't respond, simply nodding to you, his eye closed and his posture relaxed. You're okay without any words, happy with the simple statement, closing your eyes before taking a deep exhale.
Zoro smiles lightly.
---
"Hey!!" You startled awake, rubbing your eyes as you move towards the front of the ship. As your eyes adjust, you're able to see an island, a city right in front of you.
"Wow! look at that city!" Luffy bellows, sitting on the head of Merry, his special spot. Usopp stares wide eyed, Chopper as well.
"It looks like a resort!" He says, his eyes filled with wonder.
"You're right. I wouldn't mind spending a little time in a place like that." Nami replies.
As you moved closer to the port, the town came into fuller view. You could see many pirate ships docked, causing you to grow puzzled. "Why are there pirate ships docked here?" Luffy looks your direction shrugging his shoulders before the ship docks.
"This seems like a fun place." Zoro says smirking. You groan, hugging you midsection. You attempted to hide yourself by slouching, making yourself smaller, only for Luffy to extend his arm and pull you towards him.
"Don't lag behind, we don't wanna lose you." He says to you, giggling. You still haven't really got used to Devil Fruit powers, Luffy's being the strangest thing ever. It didn't take long for Nami to catch up to you, her bounding towards you and Luffy.
"Luffy, you need to promise not to cause trouble!" Nami speaks as Luffy waves her away.
"Yeah, yeah, I promise." He insists, dragging you every which direction, his hold becoming gentler at the sound of your grunts.
"Say it like you mean it. If you cause trouble, then we'll never find a way up to the sky!" He lets out a small yeah, eyeing a man on a horse. He was panting, blood dribbling from his mouth. His house stopped before the man slid off, falling on the ground.
The people around him whispered, "Hey...could you help me up?" He groans, looking towards Luffy and Zoro." Zoro groans, before helping the man up onto the horse, him groaning in light pain.
"I don't have any money to give you." He takes out a basket of apples, his hands quivering a bit from the supposed pain. "Please take one." Zoro's eyes squint in suspicion.
"No thanks." Zoro tries to walk away before Luffy is shoveling an apple in his mouth, Zoro and Nami yelling at him before a boom reverberates across the walkway. Your body is blocked by Zoro's, him unsheathing one of his swords.
"Hey, what's the big deal?!" Zoro yells, eyeing the con man, who way laying on the back of his horse. He smirks down at all of you, coughing weakly.
"He'll be all right." He said, Nami halting from coking out Luffy, looking and the man. "If it had been a bad one, you'd have died instantly." Luffy looks over at him as well, face hard. "You're...a lucky boy."
The man trotted away on his horse, leave you alone. You sigh in relief, returning to walking down the street, everyone around you unconcerned with the explosion. Nami takes a while to calm down, growing frustrated with the blasé nature of the town. "What kind of place is this."
"Calm down, Nami." Luffy looks back at her, eyeing you at the tail end of the group. He pulls you back towards himself, stumbling back near him. "Things like that happen."
She grumbles, "Well, they shouldn't! This is insane! I'm not sure we'll ever find out what we want to know in this madhouse!" Luffy remains nonchalant, casually walking down the street while ignoring Nami's ramblings.
Eventually, you land in a surprisingly peaceful part of town. "It's beautiful." Nami points out, the palm trees adding a nice shade to this otherwise hot island. There were resort houses, all connected by a pier the swived from house to house.
"Wait, you can't just walk in here." A strange man, probably the resort owner, says, fidgeting nervously as you observe him. "The tropical hotel is currently being rented out by the Bellamy Party."
"This is a hotel?" You mumble, the man continuing to fidget, repeatedly asking you to leave.
"We can't take a look around." Luffy asks, "and who is this Bellamy guy?"
"Who are you." A man stalks towards you, a woman around his arm. The resort owner instantly becomes nervous, bowing towards the man.
"M-Mr. Sarquiss, welcome back..." He strides over, standing right in front of Luffy, and you take this time to back away from him, towards Zoro.
"Get lost." He speaks lowly.
Luffy snarls, looking back at Nami, "Can I beat this guy up?" Your eyes widen and your poster stiffens in fear.
"Absolutely not!!" She declares.
"Hah, what a joke." Sarquiss says, "You, beat me up?" He lets out a hardy laugh, throwing coins and bills onto the floor. "Here, go buy yourself some decent clothes." The coins roll on the ground a bit before falling completely near your feet.
You past them quickly, pushing past the man in slight anger. Nami follows right after, pulling Luffy along with him. Sarquiss watches with an emotionless face, "Heh, how lame." He drones, walking into the resort.
---
You stare into your cup dead faced, your face as stark contrast to the load, bustling tavern around you. Every few moments, you glanced at your side, Luffy fighting with some drunkard about his bounty. You didn't have the energy to really care about it though. You can faintly hear Zoro yell at him, trying to hold him back.
"Take it easy, there's no fighting in here." Says the bar owner to Luffy and the other, coerced. Suddenly, there's a creaking sound, then a slamming. Everyone in the bar quiets, turning toward the entrance.
"Anybody seen a pirate in a strawhat around here?" The voice was low, growling even. You turn around, spotting a nearly deranged looking man. His eyes were blown wide, a smirk stretching across his face and his arm crossed.
"Look like he has business with you, Luffy." Zoro sips on a beer, uncaring, while Nami bites her lip.
Luffy turns all the way around, propping his elbows on the table. "What?" Mutters travel through the bar, all about Luffy's 30 million berries bounty, and what Bellamy was going to do to him. You shifted in your seat quietly, afraid.
"Get this kid whatever he wants." The bartender nods, more and more people shuffling into the bar. It didn't take a genius to tell they were the people from the resort, Sarquiss leading the posse. The push through the bar, kicking people out their seats without a care. Sarquiss gives a harsh glare at anyone who looks at him, twirling his knives.
A beer is placed down on the table, Luffy taking it with a smile, drinking it in one big gulp.
"Bellamy and his whims..." You hear a girl say. Sarquiss chuckles, a sound that makes you shake in your seat.
Before you can even comprehend what he was saying you were being pushed back from the bar by Zoro, landing on the floor, staring up at the other three.
"Luffy!!"
His head is pushed roughly into the bar by Bellamy, splitting in two, the wood cracks under the pressure. You can barely breath as laughs fill the room. You can't tell where they come from, your eyes focused on Luffy.
Zoro lunges at him, nearly slicing him with his swords before Bellamy quickly leaps aside. "What's your problem, low life?" He questions, as Zoro stares at him from the opposite end of the sword.
"You're the one with the problem." He responds, Nami rushing to calm him down as she helps you up. "Wait, Zoro! We haven't learned what we need to yet!" Zoro, irritated, keeps his gaze locked on Bellamy.
"I don't care! He's the one looking for a fight!" Luffy slowly stands up, the crowd around him laughing in disbelief. You shake in Nami's hold, trying to calm your breathing and ignore the manic laughter.
Luffy wipes his nose, "All right, I hope you're ready." Bellamy doesn't retaliate, instead, his face grows maniacal, his laughing high-pitched mixing with the laughs of his crewmates.
"This isn't a fight, it's just a test. Come at me! Show me what you've got!" He edges Luffy on, but before anything could happen, you turn towards the bartender.
"We want to go to the sky island! Can you tell us anything at all!" The room goes cold, the silence somehow eerier than the laughter. The people in the room look astounded, their eyes wide and mouth agape. The only noise you can hear is the whispering of the people near the back of the room, asking if you were kidding and if you were stupid. You take a deep breath as the room suddenly breaks back into laughter.
"Did you say...sky island!?" A very drunk man asks, laughing in your face before you could answer, Nami quickly coming to your defense.
"Our log pose is pointing straight up at the sky!!" She points and again there is a brief second of pause, before being broken by laughter.
"Log poses break so easily." Some other says, and Nami holds her breath as people around the room laugh and mock her, including Bellamy, who is now relaxing on a stool.
"Where'd you hicks come from anyway." He eyes you, laughing at your startled expression. "You believe in that ancient legend? What rock did you craw out from under?" You look away, embarrassed.
"New currents are being discovered on the grand line all the time, like the 'knock up stream.' Ships that fall victim to it are hurled upwards and come crashing back down to the sea."
"Long ago, ignorant seafarers saw them falling out of the sky and thought there must be an island up there." He went on to explain. ""Surely there must be another world up there in the sky!"" He mocked.
"In time the truth behind such myths became clear." He looks back at you. "What a disappointment, and I was going to see if you had what it takes to join my crew in this new age of pirates, but you're too gullible." Luffy moves to block you as your jaw hardens, anger seeping through your bones.
"You're fools who are blinded by a fantasy of treasures and can't see the riches lying right at their feet." You couldn't see Bellamy's face, but you could guess his overwhelming visage by his voice, loud and overpowering. "In this age, some of the most able seafarers get themselves killed chasing such foolishness."
""They were lucky to die chasing their dream" they say!" He laughs, snorting at the end. "I say they're all idiots!"
"When I see fools wasting their time on dreams, I go berserk!" You pushed away yet again by Luffy as a bottle is smashed on his head. This time though, you land in the arms of Zoro, who keeps you in place as Nami screams.
"It's weaklings like you that give pirates a bad name!" Bellamy yells as Luffy lays on the floor. He looks unfaced, but you couldn't really tell from you position.
"Hey Bellamy!" Sarquiss speaks up. "Looks like everybody's waiting for the show to start." He grins, and as the party around him rages on, Luffy sits up, his strawhat on the floor.
"Luffy! Zoro, forget your promise! Defend yourself!" Nami begs.
"Do not fight them!" Luffy directs to Zoro. He obeys, leaning towards your ear.
"Stay with Nami. Listen to Luffy." He gives you a small push, and you quickly listen and stand near Nami.
"Heh-Your friends are smart, they know they're out classed." Sarquiss side eyes the boys. "The Navy's getting pretty generous these days, handing out 30 million berries for a wimp like this." He chuckles to himself.
Luffy and Zoro take hit after hit, bottles and food being thrown at them like they're in a zoo. You flinch anytime you hear something breaks, afraid to look at them all covered in blood. But in truth, your weakness made you sick to your stomach, you didn't know what to do and you didn't have the strength to speak up like Nami. You hated this feeling, especially as you cower behind Nami unable to act.
"Pacifism sounds like an excuse for cowardice to me." Bellamy takes a big swig of beer, wiping his lower lip as he eyes Luffy. "Not only are they weak, they got no pride. They don't have the heart to fight, and yet their heads are full of dreams." Bellamy stands, striding pass the two towards the door.
"Forget it." He looks down at Luffy, not sparing you or Nami a glance. "It said he's worth 30 million, so I wanted to see what he could do, but he's a total disappointment. How can a can a coward like this call himself a pirate?" We walk right up to him, spitting right in their faces. They both recoil but react little.
"They make me sick." Bellamy knees Zoro in the face.
Another man grabs the back of Luffy's head, throwing it into the wall, reverberating throughout the room with a harsh crack. You and Nami rush towards them, Bellamy's laughs echoing in your head.
"Pack up your stupid friends and get out while you still can." Nami snarls at him, taking the back of both Zoro's and Luffy's shirt's and dragging them out of the bar, you in toe.
'The sky island does exist' you think, just to spite that asshole.
"Your friends won that fight, why are you so upset?" You turn, seeing the guy Luffy was arguing with earlier. He's sitting right outside the bar, eating pie. "You got guts!" He says as the two stand back up, bloody and bruised.
"You seem to be in a hurry, so I won't keep you." He takes a swig from a bottle near him. "I hope you make it to the sky island." He says, walking away.
You're left frozen look back at the man as he stumbles down the street. His demeanor was so different than earlier, what changed? "Hey, maybe that guy knows how to get to Skypiea?" Nami suggest, watching as Luffy walks away.
"It's not just one guy." Luffy says as he wipes some blood from his nose, using his other hand to grab you and break you out of your stupor.
"Hey! What do you mean?"
---
"Luffy, Zoro! Are you guy's all right?!" Usopp yelled as you got back to the Merry.
"Huh-your wounded, what happened?!" Chopper screamed, pushing them onto the boat quicker.
"Did you fight a giant monster?" Usopp wondered aloud. Luffy shook his head, smiling like nothing was wrong.
"Nah, a pirate. But it's over." He shrugs, while Nami glares from a corner.
"It may be over for you, but not for me." She jumps up, pointing a finger towards him. "How can you call yourself pirates!! Pirates don't shrink from a fight!!"
Zoro side eyes her. "You're the one who made us promise not to fight."
"Why is she so mad, you two are the ones who got beaten up, not her." Usopp says, Luffy shaking his head.
Chopper glances towards you as he ignores Nami's yelling. "(Y/N)? Are you okay?" You were sitting alone by the railing, watching the waves though the beams. You look back, nodding quickly while giving an awkward smile.
"Totally, I'm just not used to all this pirate stuff, y'know?" You rub the back of your neck.
Luffy tilts his head. "Do pirates not exists where you come from."
You laugh, "I think I'd be less shocked if they did." You go back to watching the waves, still feeling Luffy's gaze on the back of your head.
Chopper, semi-satisfied with your answer, changes the subject. "So, did you find anything about Skypiea?"
Nami's face darkened, "Skypiea, who cares about it, everyone started laughing at the mere mention of it." She pouted, red mad when Usopp and Luffy start laughing at her.
Robin, whose now on the ship, hands over a map to Luffy, "I went shopping for clothes and information about Skypiea."
"It's just an ordinary map of the island though?" Usopp says.
"The town on the left is Mock town, where we are now. And the x on the opposite coast marks were Jaya's biggest weirdo lives. His name is Mont Blanc Cricket." She smiles.
"It seems like you have something in common, he was chased out of town for talking about dreams."
---
On your way to this Cricket persons home, you were stopped by yet another monkey man, and it this point you were fed up.
"We've come across a weirdo, but I don't think he's the one we're looking for." Luffy says to Usopp as he cowers behind Sanji.
"Hey! You there! This is no time for small talk!!" He yells from his ship.
"Could you move, we're trying to go somewhere." Luffy yells, and you facepalm.
"You idiot! The sea here is my territory! If you want to pass, you have to pay the toll!" Monkey man screams, you've heard this before, and you couldn't care less.
"Is he like that Masira guy?" Usopp asks, Monkey man becoming intrigued at the mention of the man.
"What? Masira? What about Masira?" He asks.
"Him? We kicked his butt?" That's right, you were so distracted that you somehow missed Luffy literally kicking Masira off the ship. Hopefully he's fine.
Monkey man gasps, glaring at you all. "How dare you do that to my brother!" In an instant, Monkey man was sending shock waves your way, screaming into a big microphone. While it didn't do much, pieces of ship started peeling off.
"He's ruining all my repairs!" Usopp screamed, quickly yelling to get out of range of his voice.
After you were definitely far enough, you were all forced to help repair the broken parts of the ship. "That damn orangutan! He almost wrecked the whole ship."
"Yeah, it's in really bad shape." Zoro says, hammering sheets onto the helm. "Maybe it's time we got a new one."
"How can you say that?!" You jump, you didn't expect it to be a touchy subject. Though, from what Usopp told you, this ship was gifted to him by a dear friend, so it's understandable it make him a little angry.
Luffy turns words him, "Don't worry Usopp, Merry's part of the crew, she'll be as good as new once we've fixed her up!" You smile, feeling surprisingly warm.
"You got a big heart, Luffy." He looks surprised for a split second, before grinning wide at you.
"Woah!!!" You hear Chopper yell. Looking over, you see an extravagant house, Luffy and Usopp dropping their tools to gawk.
"This is Mont Blanc Cricket's house?! He must be loaded!" Luffy proclaims, Sanji standing by you with a raised brow.
"A man of big dreams, eh? Well. he certainly likes to create an illusion." He lets out a puff of smoke, as Luffy propels himself off the ship, gaping at the back of the house.
"It's only plywood!" He screams, huffing in annoyance.
"What a cheapskate." Sanji said, rolling up the sail. You nod, wondering why he would do something like that. Nami peers towards Robin, whose reclining on the railing.
"What kind of dreams was he talking about that they kicked him out of town form." Robin waves, shrugging her shoulders.
"I don't know all the details, but apparently he claims there's a huge hoard of gold somewhere on Jaya." Everyone turned towards her at the claim of gold.
"Gold!" Usopp yells, Luffy ginning from his spot-on land. He rushes towards the house, abruptly walking into the house without knocking.
"Hello! Anyone home?" He announces.
You lean off the railing, eyeing him astonished. "Luffy! You can't just go walking into other people's homes!" He doesn't listen, leaving the door wide open as Usopp and Sanji funnel in. You groan, debating whether or not to follow him, untimely deciding to hop off the boat and follow him.
"Huh? There's nobody here." You hear Luffy say as you catch up to him. The house was pretty small, a bed, table, and many, many boxes all in one room. You survey the room, finding a childlike story book on the table.
"Noland the Liar." You read aloud, flipping the book over and examining its contents.
"Noland the Lair, huh?" You turn to look at Sanji, whose sitting on the ground, watching you. "That bring back memories."
"You've read this before?" You ask him, Nami coming over to stand near you, taking the book from your hands.
"Yeah, I was born in the North Blue." You shake your head. You aren't all that knowledgeable of the different areas of the sea, still struggling to get used to where you are know.
Sanji chuckles, some smoke escaping his lips. "Yeah, I was raised in the east...well, never mind that. This story's pretty famous in the North, it's a children's tale, but I've heard that this Noland really did exist a long time ago."
Nami opens up the book, reading out the pages aloud. It's a tale about Noland, an explore who told such amazing stories about his adventures that no one believed him. One day, when Noland went to tell the king about a mountain of gold on an island in the sea, the king sent 2,000 of his soldiers to verify his claim. By the time they reached the island, only the king, Noland, and 100 soldiers remained, and instead of a mountain of gold, there was only a jungle. Noland was sentence to death for lying, his last words being "I know! The mountain of gold must have sunk into the sea!" No one believed him anymore, by the stuck to his lies to the very end.
Nami finished the story, closing the book with a thud. "Sadly, he died without ever becoming a brave warrior of the sea." She sighed, looking at Usopp.
"Why are you looking at me! And stop adding your own commentary!" Their argument couldn't continue as Luffy splashed into the water. "What are you doing, Luffy!" Usopp yelled as you moved to grab him before he descended too deep.
"You've got guts, making yourself at home on someone else's property. The waters around here belong to me." Someone sad behind you. You turn, locking eyes with a very angry looking man. His eyes were narrowed towards you, but yours were locked on Sanji, who was swinging his foot at him.
The man dodges quickly, taking his hand and nearly jabbing it in Sanji's stomach. He raised his foot quickly, stopping the attack, but instead being met with the barel of a gun.
"Sanji!" You hear Chopper and Nami scream as you dive in the water. You hope he's alright, heart beating as you scan the water for Luffy. You know that he's unable to swim because of his Devil Fruit power after an incident a while back when a fishing accident caused him to fall in the water. You eye the top of his strawhat, diving down deeper and hooking your hands under his shoulders. You grunt, some bubbles escaping your mouth as you pull him up out of the water.
Luffy coughs when he is finally free from the ocean. "What were you thinking!?" You scream at him, paddling towards the land. "I...saw...bubbles in the water." He coughs, inhaling and exhaling in rapid succession. 'Then a chestnut came up out of the water..." he mentions, laying down on the grass as he continues to cough our more water. You sigh, coughing up a bit of water yourself.
Thud
"Hey, you okay?" Sanji's huff, the strange man shaking on the grown.
Zoro helps Sanji drag the man back to his house, laying him down on the bed. "Get me a cold towel and open all the windows!" Chopper yells, pulling up a chair to stand on.
"He's sick, it's a condition divers get." Chopper explains, laying down a cool towel on his head. "It's usually not chronic though." Luffy moves over towards the window, gazing out at the ocean.
"When a diver come up out of the water too quickly, the sudden decompression causes air bubbles to for in the blood and tissues. These bubbles expand and cause problem in the vascular system, muscles, and joints." Chopper further explains as you shiver from the cold seeping through the open windows.
"This man's probably been diving deep day after day without giving his body time to decompress." Chopper's voice is small and quiet, the wind blowing adding a peaceful ambiance to the room.
"Boss!! Are you all right?!" The door slams open, the two Monkey men barging in. For a while, it was quiet, looks being exchanged in silence. "What are you doing here?! What have you done to the boss!?" They both break the silence, yells echoing through the room.
"We're giving this man medical treatment, go away." Luffy drones, glaring at the two. The monkey men give a frown, looking like they're about to cry.
"That's so nice of you!" They whimper, Luffy staring in annoyance. He doesn't complain when they take a spot in the room, sitting down in front of Cricket.
"So, you guys live here too." They shake their heads.
"Well, the boss's house is the headquarters of the Monkey Mountain Allied Force." Masira explains, "But we usually sleep on our own ships." You watch quietly as Luffy chats with the monkey's, feeling a tap on your shoulder. You tilt your head, Chopper handing you a blanket.
"You looked cold." You smile, wrapping the blanket around your shoulders.
"Thanks!" You giggle, Chopper giving you an embarrassed blush before rushing away. You smile lightly into the blanket, the warmth traveling all over your body.
"Hey, Luffy! He's coming to!" Your brief second of comfort was interrupted by Chopper yelling for Luffy from inside the house.
He bounded in, Cricket sitting up and facing away from the door. "Hey, diamond-head guy, we wanna ask you something." He slowly gets up, walking toward the open window, lighting up a cigarette.
"Sorry I attacked you guys; I thought you were after my gold." Cricket says.
He talks a puff of the cigarette, "What?! You have gold?!" Nami asked dreamily. Luffy ignores her daydreaming, pushing past her to get to Cricket.
"We wanna go to the Island in the sky! How do we get there!?" Cricket side eyes him, his brows ruffled in confusion and irritation. He smirks before beginning to laugh, you and Nami snarling in annoyance.
"There was only one man who said it existed, but he went down in history as a liar and his descendants have been the objects of ridicule ever since." Cricket says, sitting down slowly. Luffy takes a look at Usopp, dumbstruck.
Cricket ignores the two, "Noland the liar is an ancient tale." He mutters. Nami shushes the two arguing boys, shocked by his statement.
"You're his descendant!?" Nami asks, gasping as Cricket nods.
"The Mont Blanc family was driven off and forced to live in shame. Even to this day we're still ridiculed. But nobody in the family ever held it against him." Luffy raises a brow, confused.
"Why not?"
"Because we know that Noland was no liar." Cricket grits his teeth, the room becoming cold, and you wrap the blanket around yourself tighter.
"I don't believe he made it up. In the book, it shows him grinning like an idiot, but he actually died with tears rolling down his cheeks." He says, his voice low but impactful. "The island they reached was undoubtably Jaya. The same island that he said held the ruins of the city of gold."
Usopp nods his head, growing excited, "So, in order to clear the Mont Blanc name, you've been diving down to search for the city of gold." Cricket's blank expression grow enraged, pulling out his gun and brandishing it towards Usopp, who holds up his hands in defeat.
"None of that matters to me!" He roars, slowly calming down at as he looks back out the window. "I was ashamed of my family, so I left home and became a pirate. I just wanted to get away from Noland's curse. But as the one who hated Mont Blanc the most, fate had brought me here. There was no escaping it."
He puffs out some smoke, holding the cigarette between his fingers. "This is my battle with the man who ruined by life."
"But how come those monkeys are here." Cricket shrugs.
"They're fans of the story." He says, Nami and Usopp gawking. "Five or six years ago they heard about me and came here uninvited, convinced that Noland's gold was real." He smiles, listening to the brothers fight outside. "Those fools saved me." Usopp wiped his eyes, moved by his story. Luffy, though, looked unimpressed.
"I'm tired of monkey stories." Luffy announced, you shout towards him.
"Luffy!" You groaned through gritted teeth. He looked at you, lips pursed in annoyance.
"When'd you get a blanket?" You groan, rubbing you head.
"That's really what your worried about right now?" You frown, Luffy looking you up and down before turning his attention back to Cricket.
"Like I said, I wanna go to the sky island." Luffy yelled.
Noland rolled his eyes. "The one who spoke of the shy island was Noland the liar. " He grabs a logbook from the bookshelf. "If you believe his tales, you'll become a laughingstock like me." He hands the book to Nami.
"Huh? He went to the sky island too?" Luffy bounced excited. Cricket grumbles as Nami flips through the pages, viewing an interesting page.
"Amazing, a log from 400 years ago! "The age of Kaien 1120, June 21. Clear skies. Sailed from the lively town Vira. Will follow the log pose and sail straight east-northeast."" Luffy peers over Nami's shoulder, along with Usopp and Chopper, who was on top Usopp's head so he could see.
""Got hold of an unusual item from a merchant ship today. It's a one-man boat called a 'waver,' which one rides like a ski. This strange vessel can even sail on windless days by creating its own wind, but there's a knack to operating it that I have not yet been able to master. The crew are enjoying it now."
Nami pauses, Chopper urging her on. ""The power to run this vessel is found only on sky islands. I have heard there are many things with special properties up there. Speaking of sky islands, a fellow explorer once showed me a living sky fish, which was amazing to behold." Luffy's grin grows and grows, barely being able to control his elation. "It is a land our ships have never visited, but as a sailor, I wish to someday visit this sea in the sky. Mont Blank Noland.""
"A sea in the Sky!" Luffy yells, laughing with Usopp and Chopper. Cricket gazes at them, a smile barely visible, but there. Cricket walks outside, back near the ocean, Masira and Shoujou gazing at his solemn demeanor.
"These pirates are determined to go to the sky island." Cricket says, the two monkey men quiet for once. "The'll be killed if they try and get there."
"That's why I'm asking to help get them there." Cricket says, determined.
---
You sit next to Zoro, whose snoring next to you, his head tilted downward. Somehow, you lost the blanket Chopper gave you, the cold nipping at your skin. Shivering, you listen to Cricket explain the sky island to you all.
Cricket stands with his arms crossed, still smoking as he speaks. "Sometimes a mysterious phenomenon occurs in the seas around here. In the middle of the day, night suddenly falls on one part of the sea."
"We saw it!!!" Luffy raises his hands, yelling.
Usopp nods at him, "Yeah! It got dark and then some monsters showed up."
Cricket smiles, pointing towards the sea. "You mean the giants? Their origin is a mystery too." His eyes narrow. "The sudden night is actually the shadow of a dense mass of clouds."
"Imperiocumulu, the emperor cloud is what it's called. It's a dense mass of clouds high in the sky. There are no air currents or condensation within it." Luffy stares in disbelief.
"According to one theory, the emperor cloud has remained unchanged for thousands of years, like a petrified cloud that floats in the sky." Nami shakes her head, leaning back slightly.
"A dense cloud formation that doesn't produce rain?! That's ridiculous." Cricket waves his hand, sighing.
"I'm only telling you what I've heard. If a sky island does exist, that's almost certainly where you'll find it."
"Okay!! Let's get on top of that cloud! Hey Zoro, wake up!" He yells towards you, Zoro rubbing his eyes. You pat him on the back, trying to help him up.
"Is it morning yet?" Zoro mumbles, sighing when you shake your head.
"How many time do I have to tell you? We don't know how to get there yet!!" Nami yells, interrupting Luffy's and Usopp's celebration.
"Know this, the know up stream is deadly. You'll have to let it carry you up to the sky." Cricket pointed out.
"But won't it just smash up against the ocean? That's what I heard in Mock Town." Cricket nods.
"That's what usually happens, the critical thing is timing. Normally, it's something to be avoided at all costs. For approximately one minute, the sea rises high into the air."
Nami rises from her seat, arms straight on the table, "It rises for a whole minute? So, where can we find this current?"
"The coordinates change each time, but it happens five times a month." Cricket responds. Usopp beginning to shake at the idea.
"We'll be blown to pieces..." He laughs nervously, waving Luffy away, "Let's just forget about Skypiea, we wouldn't have any chance of making it."
"We'll be fine, let's go!" Luffy brushes him off as Usopp sighs.
"Don't worry, your ship can be reinforced I'll have Masira and Shoujou help you." Cricket says, pointing towards the house then the ship. Merry looked on the rougher side, loose bords and cracks everywhere.
Nami shakes her head, pointing to the log pose, "We can only stay on this island for one more day, any longer than that and the log pose will lock onto the next island."
Cricket turns his head, thinking for a moment "Tomorrow at noon, the knock up stream and the emperor cloud will appear."
Usopp jaw drops at the proclamation, closing when Sanji bursts out the house, along with Masira and Shoujou. "Boss! Food's ready!"
Luffy jumps, "Time to eat! Hurry, Usopp!"
---
"Are we really doing this, going to a sky island?" You whisper, to yourself, staring at your plate. Usopp was barely able to hear you over the ruckus around you. Luffy was goofing around with the monkey brothers.
"I can't believe it either." He says to you. "We meet this strange man who's willing to fix the ship and get up to a strange island that might not even exist." He lets out a dry laugh into his beer. "I couldn't imagine how you feel."
Your eyes widen, and the world becomes muffled as you focus on Usopp, nearly dropping your fork. It felt weird for someone's attention to be on you. He doesn't meet your gaze, taking a swig before continuing.
"You appear on some strange ship, with a bunch of weirdos and barely a week later you're seeing giants and hearing rumors about sky islands." You nod, unable to say anything. Everything was so shocking to you, it's why you remained by yourself for the most part. You couldn't for the life of you understand what was going on at any moment, and you were constantly afraid.
"I'm really thankful, y'know, for everything you've done." You watch Luffy dance and sing, Zoro drink with the monkey brothers, Sanji kick cricket away from Nami. No matter how you try to piece it together in your head, you don't feel like you belong. You heart sinks, but you smile anyway.
"I'm glad." Usopp says, reaching over to rub your arm. It was comforting, but you still felt like crying.
"When we got to the island we heard the strange cries of a jungle bird and the tolling of a giant bell. The sound that giant bell of pure gold made." Cricket started reciting parts of the logbook. "The sound of the Bell stopped us in our tracks."
Cricket jumped up, along with the monkey brothers, very drunk. He moved, grabbing a pure gold bell, and slamming it down. "It doesn't not that giant to me..." Usopp says, sweating.
"I didn't say it was that bell." Cricket claimed. "That's a bell-shaped ingot. I found three of them on the ocean floor." Robin moves closer to examine them.
"This does prove that there was a civilization in this region once. Ingots are created as a weight standard. They're used in trading." Cricket motioned towards Masira, him pulling something out of a bag. A pure gold bird.
"I think it was one part of a statue." He assumes, rubbing parts of the statue lightly. "This is a south bird. They're still found on this island." He said as Masira and Shoujou giggled.
Boom
Everyone in the room jumped, Cricket furrowing his brows at the sound. "This is bad! You have to go into the jungle!" He points towards the door. "You've got to catch one of these birds!!"
Everyone was confused and still recovering from the loud sound, "Why do we need a bird?!" Sanji asks.
"Listen carefully, the knock up stream is located directly south of here. This is the Grand Line, once you're out to seam there's no way to know your directions!"
Nami's eyes blow wide as she realizes what he means. "I get it. the log pose can only guide us to an island, no good for finding a patch of water. And our compass won't work here!"
Cricket nods, "You'll have to rely on the south bird!" he says, pointing to the statue. "Some animals have an innate sense of direction; the south bird is the best of them all. It's instincts always show it the right direction, you'll never get to the sky island without it."
"It's the middle of the night, you expect us to go off into the jungle now?!" You question, the sun was going to be up soon. Cricket shakes you off.
"We'll get to work on your ship right now." He motions Masira and Shoujou out of the room.
---
You and the others trek through the darkness of the jungle. Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro carry nets, as you and Nami hang in the back of group.
"Where is this bird." Luffy grunted. Zoro sent him an aggravated look.
"If I knew that, we wouldn't be wandering around in this jungle!" Zoro points out, ignoring the fearful cries from Usopp.
Sanji looks around, gazing at all the trees. "The only clue is it has a weird cry, the guy said we'd know it when we heard it."
Joh
"I guess that's a weird cry." You mumble, impressed it didn't take long to find it.
"All right!" Luffy said, pointing to everyone. "We'll split into three teams!"
You join up with Robin and Zoro, watching with disgust as he picks up and inspects a centipede. "It's huge." He says, pulling it up by it's entena.
"Poor thing, you don't have to kill them." Zoro snarls at the woman.
"Don't lecture me, it's their own fault for challenging me." He growls at her. He drops the bug back on the ground, narrowing his eyes at Robin,
"Anyway, I still don't trust you. Don't forget that." He walks away, you rushing to catch up to Robin. You huff, watching Zoro walk in the opposite direction.
"Zoro, we just came that way." You speak up, watching as he turns back around, embarrassed.
Joh
That cry again. Robin motions for you to follow her, walking towards branches and vines that are strangely slippery. Zoro yells for you to wait up, you and Robin too far to really hear him.
"What was he talking about?" You ask, Robin looking behind for a second. "Earlier, about not trusting you?" Robin doesn't answer, and you assume it was touchy subject, judging by her posture stiffening and her motions becoming ridged.
"Before you came here, I worked with a terrible man." She said, he words small, like she didn't want you to hear. "He hurt people, and Luffy helped take him down. He saved me." You could sense some softness in her voice. It was strange, for such a strong person like her.
"You think you can beat me huh?!" You heard Zoro howl, turning to see him yelling at...a grasshopper. You deflate and move closer to Robin.
Jooohhh!!!
"I heard the bird just now." Robin says, looking towards the trees. You swear you saw the bird, but it flies away as Zoro slashes at another grasshopper.
"Zoro! Give it up!" You scream.
---
"We didn't even get a feather from that bird." Robin says, crossing her arms in disappointment.
Joh! Joh! Joh!~
You look up, eyeing the south bird, it was almost like he was laughing at you. "He's saying "Ha! Ha! You can't catch me!"" Chopper translated. Usopp and Zoro grow annoyed, staring angrily at the playful bird.
"He's taunting us!?" Zoro growled. Usopp loaded his slingshot, aiming it at the bird, before missing with a sigh.
Joh?
Two arms appeared on the side of the bird, wrapping around it before falling to the ground. You turn to see Robin, using her Devil Fruit powers. The bird caws one more time before excepting his fate.
---
"Diamond head guy!!"
Cricket, Masira, and Shoujou were all laying on the ground, covered in blood but thankfully still breathing.
"I'm sorry, we failed. We couldn't stop them." Cricket gurgles to Luffy. "But there's still some time before sunrise, we can fix the ship and--"
"Just tell up what happened?!" Luffy yells. Cricket smiles, it looks painful.
"It doesn't matter, you got the south bird. Well done." He speaks.
"Luffy!" He turns towards Nami, she's panicked looking back and forth between him and the destroyed housed. "The gold ingots, they're gone."
"Forget about them. Cricket says, sitting up, albeit with a groan of pain.
"How can you say that, you dived for ten years to find that gold, you almost got yourself killed for it!!" Usopp screams at an emotionless Cricket.
He huffs, "Quiet. It doesn't matter...that's out problem. Listen." Blood dribbles down his forehead.
"If the entire Monkey Allied Force gets to work preparing your ship, you can still make it." Cricket groans. Usopp sighs, his gaze softening. Cricket looks exhausted, you couldn't image how hard he fought for you, the strawhats to get to the sky island. It makes you sick.
"Luffy." Zoro points to the beaten-up house, a painted smiley face with a line going diagonally though it's eye. That's Bellamy's mark, it was on Sarquiss's chest. "Need help?" Zoro asks.
"No, I can handle them." Luffy say blankly, his stare dark.
"No way Luffy! Don't even think about doing anything crazy!" Nami screams, desperate. But Luffy doesn't listen.
"If I follow the coast, I'll come to that town, right?" Luffy asks Robin, who nods her head.
Luffy cracks his fingers, walking towards the coast. "I'll be back by sunrise, don't worry."

One Piece (Reverse Isekai)
>BEACH ARC (Part 1: "You genuinely thought that waking up was a whole new responsibility in of itself." )
Narrator: Aah, goo-not-so-lagoon. To think that by retelling a story from your childhood would get the others to plead on their knees, tears at the brink of their eyes as they begged you to know.
"HOW DO WE GET TO THE FLOATING ISLAND?!"
Humming at the tune playing from your phone's speaker, you sliced some meat and vegetables as Sanji heated a pot filled with water.
"We're gonna cook a lot today Sanj!" You playfully bumped hips with the cook who chuckled amused.
"Of course!" He confidently claimed while twirling knives in his hands, "I'm pretty sure everyone's going to get hungry from all the energy they're going to spend at the beach today."
You couldn't help but sigh in exasperation, already imagining Luffy running around with Usopp and Chopper everywhere without a care in the world.
"Why don't you relax today too Sanji?" you offered. "I did promise to take over since it's your day off and all that," placing a hand on his shoulder, Sanji smiles at the action, grabbing your hand and leaving a quick but soft kiss on it.
"I appreciate the offer honeybun," he rubs your hand with his thumb, "but I'd rather work more so that you wouldn't burn yourself out."
You couldn't help the blush that rushed to your cheeks by how his words made your chest feel warm.
"Thank you," hugging him in gratitude, you let go and began working on the chopping board once more. "I'll make sure to give you extra servings!" Winking at his direction, he laughs and shakes his head.
You we're simply too adorable for his poor heart. "Zoro~!" You whined, flopping on top of the muscled man that is-somehow- still knocked out on the couch. From all the noise to the streets and in the house, you would think that someone would have waken up by now but NO- you underestimated the power that is sleeping within Zoro, the three-swordsman user.
"Can't wake him up like that."
You turn to Usopp who calmly sipped on his own coffee with Chopper, sitting on his shoulder and was rubbing the sleep from his eyes, nodding along.
"How then?" Huffing, you moved out of the piles of pillows on top of Zoro to stare at him beside the sniper. He hummed to himself, thinking back to the one time he had to simultaneously wake up Sanji, Luffy, and Zoro. He could use the same strategy but knowing Zoro, he already built a resistance to his bullshit. "Ah!" A lightbulb lights up on top of his head and you looked at him, questioning….many things.
"Just," he grabbed your shoulders to pull you closer, "mention anything Luffy related." He snickers with a whisper and you deadpanned at him.
There was no way he was that predictable…right? Shrugging, you decided to shot your shoot, "Zoro." you poked his cheeks, "Luffy said he wants to make you his pirate queen." "hUh? The fuck?!" So he is predictable. You three shared a laugh which made the swordsman- still half-asleep- glare at you all while ruffling his hair to sit up. "Couldn't you wake me up more peacefully?" "Maybe if you actually did-" pointing at the pillow surrounding him- "I would." you scoffed. Huffing in annoyance, you turned away to go and wake the others up around the house. There was still more to go around and you couldn't help but look forward to it. "Be thankful she even woke you up Zoro," Usopp comments which made Zoro look back at him confused. "She's been up even before dawn to help Sanji and the rest prepare." Sipping his coffee, he could feel the embarrassment radiating of the swordsman. He swears that he could even see a slight twinge of color on his cheeks. "Right," Zoro nods, now standing from the mess he called his sleeping area. "I'll go and see what I can do." Usopp smiles that Zoro caught his message and he nods, "see you later then! Tell the rest I'll be back before we head out."  "Hm?" Zoro turns to him in question but nods nonetheless, "where you headin' to?" "Just gonna grab some stuff from the tindahan that we might be able to use in our trip," he grins with a glint in his eyes that made Zoro just hum along. He already knew what his friend was probably getting into so he just left them to it. "See ya' then." "Law," you pouted and stared at the doctor who refused to step out of the bathroom. "you gotta hurry up." You could hear the man grunt, probably frustrated that his precious alone time is being disturbed. "Let them damn wait!" "Fuck you!" Kidd swears back, "I've been waiting for more than 30 minutes already!" You had to hold back the fiery buff guy as he seemed to attempt to kick down the door. You had to replace it many times now and you couldn't afford to buy new bolts for the door every time someone hogs the bathroom. "Kidd please," you begged, "go to the other one for now?" you suggested, giving your best puppy eyes. You hoped that it would at least appease the two for now. Looking back and forth from you to the door, Kidd couldn't help the frustrated sigh come out of his mouth. He knows that you didn't have time to deal with this, and he knows that you're trying.
For them.
So he decided to just let this go… for now. "You better hurry your ass up next time Trafalgar," he seethes, turning out of the room and downstairs to where the other bathroom resided. You- now relieved- pressed your back on the bathroom door in exhaustion. It took all of your strength to hold back the big muscle man and it definitely took some years out of your life as you tried to step up to the guy. "You know," your ears perk up at the muffled voice behind the door, "I would've gone out already." Falling backwards with a "oof!", you glare at a smirking Law who was drying his hair with a towel. "Well, I wanted to give you some time for yourself," you explained, now sitting up as you stare at the towel-wearing doctor who strutted his way to his own closet. Shuffling through his piled of clothes of what could be appropriately worn for the trip later on. "Why?" He inquired but you knew he already knows the answer to that, so you merely clicked your tongue and stood up, about to leave from the room for him to change privately. "You already have gotta deal with a lot from work," you chided, "so I took pity to the poor ol' chap!" you slammed the door, avoiding the possible comeback Law might have for you from teasing him. Though, Law didn't have one. Just a smiled painted on his face as his sighs. "What to do with you really…" "Breakfast!!" Luffy cheers, he excitedly slides onto his chair as he stares at the food in front of him in awe. His previous sleep deprived state long forgotten as he raced to the table. "Don’t eat too much, alright?" You ruffled his hair as you passed by, placing another dish on the table which everyone stares at in awe. "You might just end up surprisingly floating on the sea by how bloated you are." "Is that how it works?!" Luffy gasps and you chuckled at his naivete. "Mhm!" At your confirmation, he nods, now determined to actually test that theory- but before he could, his head was smacked by Nami and Sanji who yelled at him for being an idiot. Reminding him that he was still a devil fruit user who couldn't swim. "Aw~, I really thought I could swim again." You wanted to comfort Luffy by explaining how he could with floaties but decided that you would surprise him instead later on. "Did you make this dessert?" You hear Chopper excitedly ask across from you and you nodded with a smile. "Yeah! But I couldn't have done it without Sanji's expertise, of course." Sanji shakes his head, "you give too much credit honey bun." "Its SUPER~ yummy!" Franky hums in delight, appreciating the cool taste of the dessert as it goes down his throat. It felt more refreshing in stark contrast to the heat of the early morning. "It definitely cools you down," Robin adds and you couldn't help but wave your hands in embarrassment. "Y'all are too nice!" "Just sayin' how it is, pipsqueak," Kidd ruffles your hair, but you didn't mind how it messed up your look. You actually smiled at the action, feeling warm in the chest. "So," Law started, "what's the itinerary for today?" "So professional," you rolled your eyes with a teasing tone, making the others share a chuckle. "First of all," you counted on your fingers, "we'll be there at around 7 or 8am so that y'all can enjoy the whole day trip!" Everyone cheers at that, even some of the adults who were eating at a separate table perked up in some form of joy. "Can we drink?" Shanks immediately asks and you sigh, turning to him and the others beside him who practically had this same begging look.
"It's only 4am right now," You pointed out. "Yeah! :D" You both stare each other down, your glare matched even the carefree stare of the red-haired emperor who refused to back down. 'Don't give in!' You told yourself as Shank's slowly started to bit his lip and give you this look. You know that look, you were weak to that and you know he knows.
You lock eyes. He mouths, "you can't resist me." With a wink, you blew up. "NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER!" You ran away from the crime scene, bolting out the door to catch some cool air- ignoring the loud bouts of laughter that echoed from inside the house. "I'm taking that as a yes," Shanks laughs, clinking his glass with Mihawk's who simply chuckled. He was quite amused at how easily flustered you can be but still stand at the same level as them. "What a sight indeed," Doflamingo sips his wine, already on the notion of drinking on the wee hours of the day. He, too, was intrigued by you and the this 'day trip' of yours. He hopes that it matches the expectations he has… Well, you better take a deep breath of that cool air while you can.
