You’ve known Abigail (Abby) Anderson longer than you’ve known anything else. Before you knew how to spell your name, before you knew how to ride a bike or speak properly—Abby was already there.

You were neighbors. Your parents were best friends, and by default, so were you two. There are photos of you as literal babies, chubby-cheeked and giggling in matching onesies, clutching each others tiny figures. Your earliest memory is sitting in Abby’s backyard under a big tree, splitting a popsicle while she told you about the dog book she just got. She had just turned four. You were three. And you were in awe.

That feeling never really went away.

Abby has always been… well, Abby. Tall, freckled, goofy in the sweetest way. She wore high-top sneakers with lab goggles in middle school because she thought it made her look “scientifically intimidating.” It didn’t. You wore cat-ear headbands and carried around a binder labeled “Conspiracy Theories & Other Facts.” Together, you were unstoppable.

And painfully nerdy.

You both leaned into it. Friday nights meant staying in and watching either scientific documentaries or crime, debating about wether cats or dogs make better pets, and making DIY bracelets from beads. Abby had her comic book obsessions (mostly X-Men and Doom Patrol), and you had yours (you were a Spider-Man girl through and through). You had one binder just for Peter Parker theories. Abby read through all of it without mocking you once.

But everything changed the day you got bit.

You were seventeen and on a school field trip to Oscorp. It was supposed to be boring. Corporate lobby. Tour guide in a cheap suit. Abby was next to you the whole time, nudging your arm whenever something looked remotely cool. But when the guide got distracted by Coach Davis asking about security clearances, you and Abby snuck away. You were supposed to just peek inside the genetics wing—just to say you did it.

That’s when it happened.

One second, you were gawking at a containment chamber filled with strange glowing vials. The next, a sharp sting lanced through your hand. You yelped and slapped your palm. The spider was gone. You blinked at your hand. Nothing. Abby turned, concerned.

“You good?”

“Yeah,” you said quickly. “Just… static shock, I think.”

She raised an eyebrow but didn’t push.

You wish she had.

Because that night, the fever started.

You barely remembered getting home. Everything pulsed. Your skin felt electric, your vision blurred, and when you gripped the sink, it cracked under your fingers. By morning, everything was different.

You weren’t just stronger. You were… more.

Faster. Your senses sharper. Your body humming like a live wire.

You could feel everything—the wind through your open window, the heartbeat of a bird sitting on the sill, the tiny vibrations in your fingertips when your mom walked past your door.

And when you stuck your hand to the ceiling by accident and couldn’t get it off?

Yeah. That was a whole new level of panic.

Over the next few weeks, you tested what you could—carefully. Secretly. You climbed walls, stuck to ceilings, realized you could swing from a rope tied to a tree in your backyard without even straining. You built a web-shooter out of parts from your robotics club stash. Your aim got better. Your reflexes? Insane.

You were becoming Spider-Woman. Not that you had a name for it yet.

But you didn’t tell anyone. Especially not Abby.

Because Abby? She was everything. And you couldn’t risk her safety. Not when the world suddenly became a lot more dangerous.

Still, secrets don’t stay small forever. Especially not when your best friend knows you like the back of her hand.

“Hey,” Abby said one afternoon, frowning at your arm as you sat on her bedroom floor, surrounded by open textbooks and empty soda cans. “What happened to your elbow?”

You glanced down. Bruise. Big one. You’d taken a hit stopping a mugging the night before. “Oh. Um. Bike accident?”

She blinked. “Since when do you ride a bike?”

“Since… recently.”

She gave you a look.

It happened again the following week. Then again. And again.

She caught you jumping unnaturally high to grab a book from her top shelf. “Jesus,” she muttered. “Have you been working out or something?”

You laughed nervously. “Why? Do I look… different?”

Her eyes scanned you. It made your ears burn.

“Yeah, actually,” she said slowly, tipping her head. “You’ve got, like… biceps now. And your legs are kind of jacked. You dodged that football Jesse threw like you were in The Matrix.”

“Fast reflexes?”

“Yeah, no kidding.”

She sat beside you on the couch and poked your arm. “Seriously, what’s up? You doing CrossFit behind my back?”

You shrugged, biting the inside of your cheek. “Just… felt like being stronger.”

She smiled, soft and warm. “Well, you look good”

You couldn’t tell if your heart was racing because of her smile or because of how close her thigh was to yours.

Maybe both.

Later that night, lying in bed, you stared at the ceiling. Your phone buzzed beside you. It was Abby.

Abby [10:12 PM]: hey

Abby [10:12 PM]: you’re not avoiding me, right?

You swallowed.

You [10:13 PM]: never.

Abby [10:13 PM]: okay. just checking. miss u.

You buried your face in your pillow.

Because the truth was… keeping this from her hurt more than anything else.

You’d spent your whole life side by side with Abby Anderson. You knew her freckles like constellations, her eye rolls like punctuation. She was taller than you by a good few inches, always had been. Towered over you protectively like a giant dork, arms crossed, making sarcastic comments when people tried to bully you in the hall.

But now? You had secrets. Ones you couldn’t share.

And that distance—no matter how small—was starting to fray the threads between you.

But how could you tell her?

How could you look into those soft blue eyes, taller and warmer and familiar, and say: “Hey, I got bitten by a radioactive spider and now I climb buildings and stop robberies and punch bad guys with my webs. Also I’m hopelessly, pathetically in love with you.”

Yeah. No. Not yet.

So instead, you trained at night. Learned how to move through the city unseen. Built your suit by hand, piece by piece. And every time you stumbled or bruised or bled, you thought of Abby.

Thought about how she’d kill you if she knew.

And worse—how she might not forgive you if she found out.

But you weren’t ready.

Not yet.

Not until you could protect her from everything.

Even if it meant lying through your teeth.

Tuesday/Wednesday Anime Line Up

Since I only have a few anime on each day I decided to incorporate them like Fri/Sat. I'll only separate them if I want to talk more detail about one of the anime on that day. Okay onto the first one!😊

Aru Majo ga Shinu made

I was on the fence about this one but the third ep pretty much cemented it and funny enough there were no tears collected at all! it was more about meeting the people that will help Meg on her journey to collect them. I think that is what made it most enjoyable. As she collects more of them I think that will help me settle in even more.😁

Ballpark de Tsukamaete!

Every story just gets better and better I swear! We got to meet the announcer this ep and another one of the players and I hope that is a thing. They hinted but you never know with anime.😉

The other two let Reiko be a detective to try and figure out who the culprit of compliments was and the answer was even better than i had hoped! I was giggling so much at the end of the episode! So fun!🤭

Like they are Ai as in having to watch another human attack another human and unable to do anything cause it violates the Three Laws of Robotics or rather Respect as its called here is insane. - Chases Werecat Steven and his child away from the dairy farm/dairy room that Daisy casually has as well, which is ethical and takes excellent care of the cows 🐮🐮🐮

- Glitchy is a shapeshifter, so it pisses Mike off when Glitchy - or his niece - munches on his tail!!

- Won't. Leave. Bill. Or. Steven. Alone. On. Fishing. Trips!!

- Steven and Mike being all catlike and everyone's just going along with it.

- I bet Glitchy and Mike and Bill babysit their niece sometimes and Glitchy teaches her how to kill doppelgangers like a good girl :)

- Mike is not amused by the above point. And tries to keep his niece from killing doppelgangers....but she just wants to make her uncles happy!! 🥺

Was thinking of sapphic Lotura again the other night and ran into the question: would fem!Lotor be butch? [ramble below]

This section is partially inspired by a headcanon [or maybe it was a theory; I can't remember] post I saw on tumblr [which I tried to find to link here but I could not] because canon doesn't give us much to work with when it comes to civillian Galran culture. Gist of the post was sexual dimorphism in Galra and links to gender. So traits like being larger and/or more colorful are perceived as feminine [ex. Zethrid, Kolivan] and being smaller with fewer colors is perceived as masculine [ex. Lotor]. The original post has more detail and expands on how fem-/masc- ulinity tie into Galran society, but back to the point. Assuming fem!Lotor looks the same as canon!Lotor, viewed through this hc/theory, she would be perceived as masc. However, just because someone has fem/masc features doesn't mean they identify with that or want to dress in a way that "matches." So we are back to square one.

There was a drawing made by one of the people who worked on the show that featured the paladins, blade of marmora, and sincline squad at a restaurant[?] in winter. [I could probably look this up and find it to put here but I am lazy]. Lotor is walking in, wearing a beanie and puffy coat. Very typical winter clothes in typical winter colors. Not much to work with here. Next.

For this part, I know I have the pic already on my computer so I'll insert it here:

The mix of greys canon!L wears don't seem to be gendered. Whether dress or tunic/overcoat/leggings combo, there's an even mix of dark and light grey. None of the Galra here wear orange or blue, so can't really do anything with that. Lotor's waist cape does resemble what some of the male Galra are wearing, particularly the ones behind Blaytz on the stairs, but those are an over layer being bound by a belt. Similar shape, different construction. Don't really have anything else to go off of though so I will give 0.5 point to team masc.

In terms of actions, I will not lie to you dear reader, it's been a while since I watched the latter half of the show so my memory is fuzzy. Maybe there is some big thing I missed. I wouldn't know; I missed it. Anyways. Ik it's a bit of a stereotype but Lotor designs and builds things. Would it be so far fetched for Ladytor to be a diy/builder wife? With all her little projects? She says she's gonna renovate the space porch but gets distracted and designs a house for the cat and builds a robot.

I feel like I'm reaching the part where I'm grasping at straws. Clothing analysis can only do so much because Lotor wears ONE OUTFIT FOR HIS ENTIRE ADULT LIFE. Not even death can separate him from that damn armor. But does it matter? Do I need canon approval to draw fem!Lotor in dapper fits?

Catio got an upgrade

In some kind of hyperfixation haze, I built a catio (outdoor cat enclosure) in 11 days in 2022. I had no experience building anything even remotely close to that before then.

There is a pet door in the house that goes out to a small passageway(pway) that goes into a big enclosed box area that holds the litter box. There's an opening from that room to the 8 x 8ft screened-in enclosure - the actual catio part.

The catio was built from all new materials. The p-way and litterbox part were scrap wood and, frankly, crap.

The p-way was redone once and the litter box part was redone twice. The latest redo of the box was this year, and was a joint venture between me and my dad.

The new box is larger and predominately made from PVC (previous renditions, despite using pressure-treated wood were already rotting).

The main point of the new design was to make emptying the cat litter and cleaning up the inside of it much easier.

The previous build had dividers and posts on the inside that I simply could not get the cat litter out of.

The new design is one single room.

The funny thing is, I never really wanted a catio. What I ACTUALLY wanted was for the litter box to be outside. My thought process was that it was stupid to build something ONLY for the litter box, so may as well do a catio too - and this has resulted in my sometimes joking that my catio is the world's most expensive litter box.

[I can't make that joke anymore because I'm sure that those robot litter boxes they're making these days cost more than my 2-3k DIY catio build!]

honestly I daydream about getting interviewed someday, and showing up in my écorché bodysuit and some DIY jeans, and giving a lot of really insightful answers but also a ten minute dissertation on my gender and how, like, yes I'm very much robot kin and catgender but no those don't correlate, for me, to being robocatgender, that's DIFFERENT, and also the angel fixation isn't a kin thing or a gender thing, so no my kin isn't an EVA from Evangelion and no my gender isn't angicatgender. I will however accept that being robotkin is a big *part* of my gender, it's just a completely separate axis from the cat thing.

Little tidbits bout a few OCs of mine which likely won't make sense cuz of how I've posted nothing about them so far

Skye(world hopper OC)

over 1000 years old

She is very sentimental when she gets attached to someone

She slips into languages she has picked up from her world hopping regularly

Also she has a weird accent made of many languages

She is obscenely bad with money

She has been in 10 relationships before her current and has not broken up with any of them for any reason beyond her involuntary world hopping and semi immortal qualities

She is near incapable of submitting to authority

Her go to outfit is a jacket, a crop top, a mini skirt, slightly torn thigh highs, and weirdly sturdy converse.

She is generally a bit overconfident

She has a bionic(robotic? idk) left eye which has weird modifications, is honestly a mess given her diy repairs & mods, and glows a little in the dark

She normally has a lopsided smirk/grin/smile

She genuinely likes to fight even after almost a thousand years of doing it on and off

She is dating Rin

She is shockingly easy to embarrass and fluster

Rin(world hopper OC)

She has been alive for about 115 years give or take

She is an abominable mishmash of magical beings. (Vampire, werewolf, cat monster)

She is kinda a kemonomimi depending on circumstances

She is chatty as hell and expresses affection in weird ways.

She often communicates with animalistic noises when she is overwhelmed in a can't talk way

She finds it funny to fluster Skye in inappropriate times

She sleeps obscenely little, it concerns everyone around her

Due to her multiple magical parts she switches traits from each of her forms regularly(near full moons she is more wolf-like in appearance and stuff, new moon is more vampiric, in between more catlike) though it is often minor

She eats enough food for a human and drinks enough blood for a vampire.

She is always a bit cold to the touch and pale

Her eyes are also abnormal colors (blood red and yellow), they were originally a really dark brown.

Similarly her hair texture and color changed from straight to a curly/wavy form and from black to white.

She always has sharp nails

Kuroko (MHA OC)

She absolutely refuses to wear her UA uniform right

She has three sisters who are also heroes

She has a habit of always burning her clothes with her quirk

Her quirk gives her a single horn on the left of her head and a tail alongside her fire

She chose her hero name because she speaks English and thinks Inferno is cool as hell.

She is super hot headed when she isn't kinda nonchalant.

The scar on the side of her face is from training with her sister

When she was younger she regularly got into fights with minor villains, (It's not her fault that they attacked her)

She is actually pretty rude when she feels like it.

Silvie(RWBY OC)

She never went to a combat academy despite the fact she fights grim.

She became a fighter during the fall of beacon and a bit afterwards before just leaving Vale and wandering around

She is constantly running about and causing trouble

Generally she is more cunning than she lets on

She happens to be my least developed OC outside of her plot
