Excalibur is known by name in many other sources too. To the Welsh it was called Caledvwlch or Caliburn, and was said to have been made in the Isle of Avalon. After Arthur pacified his kingdom the court champion wielded Excalibur for many years while Arthur ruled. Gawaine was King Arthur's oldest sister's oldest son. According to the Celtic inheritance system Gawaine was, therefore, the heir to the king. He was also the champion and war leader.
"Swords of Pendragon" by Greg Stafford, illus. Martin McKenna, White Dwarf 85, January 1987, summarizing the stories of The Sword in the Stone, Excalibur, The Sword of King David, and Balin's Sword

COME ONE, COME ALL to the MOSTE ILLUSTRIOUS TOURNAMENT of the FINEST, the MOSTE PUISSANT and HOTTEST MEN MEDIEVAL MEDIA HAS TO ITS CREDIT.
Be it known that we shall accept submissions of the hottest men OF THE PEOPLES’ CHOOSING from any live-action* TV or movie media property set between the years AD 500 – 1550 (Tudors WELCOME!!), and any fantasy properties which emulate said period!
KNOW ALSO that we, by the grace of this fine hellsite and with the counsel of the moste honorable and illustrious @hotvintagepoll (many thanks), have made
THESE GUIDELINES here given:
ANY HOT GUY who appears in any movie or TV show released in ANY YEAR, from ANY COUNTRY, shall be deemed eligible for entry. Below are listed examples of eligible properties. If YE BE NOT CERTAIN whether your hot guy is eligible, submit him anyway!
Examples of Eligible Properties: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-03), Game of Thrones (2011-19) House of the Dragon (2022), Wolf Hall (2015-2024), The Tudors (2007-2010), Ladyhawke (1985), The Princess Bride (1987), The White Queen (2013), Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020-2022), Vikings (2013-2020), The Last Kingdom (2015-2022), Diriliş: Ertuğrul (2014), A Knight’s Tale (2001), BBC’s Robin Hood (2006-3009), The Last Duel (2021), The Story of Minglan (2018), The Borgias (2013), Robin Hood (1939), Outlaw King (2018), Pilgrimage (2017), Legend (1985), Braveheart (1995), The Green Knight (2021), Excalibur (1981), Beowulf & Grendel (2005), The Lion in Winter (1968), Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), The Black Adder (Blackadder Series 1, 1982), Rashomon (1950)
Remember: This is just a list of examples—WOW ME!
These following titles are examples of properties that do not fall within or emulate the stated time period and therefore DO NOT QUALIFY: The Three Musketeers (Any Version), Pirates of the Caribbean (2004), Barbarians (2020), Gladiator (2000), Ben Hur (1959), Shogun (2024), Elizabeth (1999), 300 (2006), Troy (2004), Xena: Warrior Princess (1995-2001), Disney's Robin Hood (1973)**, Yojimbo (1961), Shakespeare in Love (1998), King Arthur (2004)***
For the purposes of this tournament, "Man" and "Guy" are defined as any bi-pedal humanoid male character played by a man. As such, characters belonging to non-human races such as Hobbits, Orcs, Elves, Demons, Fauns, Werewolves etc. ARE admissible, and, indeed, encouraged.
If you have propaganda you forgot to include in your submission, just hold onto it and send it in an ask after the Tournament begins.
You may submit as many hot men as you like but please submit only ONE ENTRANT per submission.
Do not hesitate to submit ANY hot guy you think may qualify, no matter how popular he is. There is no such thing as a shoo-in with these tournaments. If you think "Someone MUST have submitted him already!" Everyone else is probably thinking that too and then he may well NEVER get submitted and we don't want that.
Do not worry about how many submissions your hot guy might have had already--I need to get a sense of who the strongest contenders are in order to fairly seed the draws, and the best way to do that is volume of submissions.
We are voting on the hotness of the characters. While the actors who portray them are of course a major factor in this, we are not voting on the actors themselves, therefore propaganda pertaining to the actors real lives (aside from anecdotes relating to their portrayal of the character) is not admissible.
By that same token, in the case of historical figures (e.g. Henry VIII) we are judging hotness based on the fictionalized portrayals of them in these properties, not on historical fact.
Regarding immortal/time-travelling/dimension-hopping/extremely long-lived characters, regardless of when the character was born, the main action**** of the story must take place within the Medieval Period (see dates listed at the top of this post) or Medieval-esque fantasy fantasy realm in order for them to be eligible for submission. As such, characters like the Pevensie brothers (The Chronicles of Narnia) and Ash Williams (Army of Darkness) are admissible, but Asgardians (the MCU Thor films) are not.
I, as the Administrator and Master of Revels of this tournament, am exercising discretion in the admittance of characters from works by Shakespeare, since many of them have no set date.
Re: characters adapted from books/written works - Book quotes by/ about your character are not admissible as Propaganda for their tv/ movie counterparts unless said quotes were also written into the show/movie.
Book illustrations and fanart are not admissible Propaganda
SUBMISSIONS SHALL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT, JULY 1st
The Tourney shall begin at a date yet to be determined with the Melee (Qualifying Rounds), wherein the entrants with the fewest submissions and least propaganda will duke it out in a free for all brawl to determine who will enter the Lists.
SUBMIT YOUR ENTRANTS HERE TODAY!!!
-- Master of Revels
*The "live-action" qualification does have a caveat: exception may be made for those CGI films which were all the rage in the mid-00's that used the motion-capture and likeness of the actors; for example characters from, Robert Zemeckis's Beowulf (2007) are admissible.
** this one doesn't qualify, not because it isn't the right time period, but because it falls solidly under the "Animated" category.
***Yes, sadly we are deprived of the beautiful countenances of Clive Owen, Mads Mikkelsen, Ioan Gruffudd et al because the producers of this film in their infinite wisdom and in an attempt to seem "more historically accurate" chose to set it during the Roman withdrawal from Britain, which occurred in the 5th Century (About a CENTURY earlier than Authurian tradition) and is generally agreed to have ended by AD 410. It therefore does not fall under the Medieval umbrella and is not eligible for submission.
**** "Main Action" here defined as "More than half an hour of a movie and more than two episodes of a series"

Death the Kid Analysis Extended
This is a rewriting of an old post. This info. is mostly referenced from the manga because most of his information and development is only in the 2nd half of the manga, so I am going to give an extensive list of info. of him so that those who don't want to read the manga, or wants info. without going back, or just forgot can come here and look at it.
THERE ARE SPOILERS > > >
>
Now, for Kid's Info.:
Since he is a shinigami he is obsessed with perfection and balance. It is mentioned here and there throughout the whole manga and in official bios. on the gangan website that he is persnickety, pathologically neurotic, and abnormally obsessed with "symmetry" however, in vol.14 ch53, he dismisses Liz comment on his hair when his first lines of sanzu connects, stating that he'd usually obsess about it but won't. It is never mentioned he has OCD.
No one wanted to approach Kid because of who he was, and Kid was ostracized from other students, but it was Black star, Soul, then Maka who approached him and he became more open. It made him impressed and happy when Black star wanted to surpass him. (v19 ch77)
Kid bleeds, and it is red in both the manga and anime. The blood stays on the ground, and it shows slight whispyness in the manga once it regenerates, which is the same whisp strings you see when you see him manifest his skateboard from his hands.
Kid could not regenerate without the Brew tool. In ch. 53 Liz asks Free to save Kid because he'll die, and Kid was not regenerating until the brew took effect on him and gave him his first connected lines of sanzu (middle line), whilst also amplifying his soul wavelength. (Soul Wavelength should not be confused with his actual soul. The brew was making the Soul swell too though)
Kid has his own unique battle stances.
His father does not bleed when injured, and his father is seen only drinking tea a few times, but Kid eats, drinks, bleeds, shows emotions, feels pain, ages, and likes to be upkept.
Kid was created & raised from a child to learn and understand fear.
Kid's wavelength?/soul gets huge like his fathers when he connects all the lines of sanzu, and also appears similar to his.
Kid's soul color is red
Kid is 158cm tall and 13 years old in the start of SE Not!
Kid faints from high anxiety
Kid can't get intoxicated, get poisoned, or dye his hair.
Kid and Asura look humanoid, and lord death is said to have a face too under the mask in ch.70 & ep.39 (kid and asura are brothers)
Kid reacts to naked women twice along with Soul and Black star by Blair (op1 and ep. 12), and then once in the beginning in the pharaoh scene but is unaffected by Kaguya and the girls in the shower scene in the manga?* *there's a bump on his head after being pulled out, but in the next page he has a nosebleed dripping all the way down to his chin, not sure if that's from the smack he got or something else, but there's no lump with that nosebleed like in the previous panel but there is a punch mark
Based on Kids ID (in the anime), he was born between 1987 to 2086 since the issue date is xx/13/20XX (M/D/Y)
Excalibur says only 1 shinigami can exist at a time, however, I do not know Asura's situation and how he is still alive after Kid becomes complete, or why there's 3 shinigamis at the same time.
Kid sometimes curses.
Kid cares about his friends and is shown to protect Liz and Patty twice in the manga (1 to prevent them from going into the book of Eibon, and 2 telling Patty not to transform when he gets his arm cut)
Kid loves to read books. He shows up at the library a couple times, in ep. 15 he is reading a book, in the aftershow op/ed he is seen reading and holding a book, and in the mobile/website card game, he is seen holding one in his lap.
Kid can play basketball
Kid writes and draws with his right hand
Kid is very thin but flexible and agile. He restrains himself in battles at times
Kid gets taller in the manga during and after the grigori arc
addition: his blood type is D
addition: Kid has sanpaku eyes
_______________________________________________________
Lastly Some bonus guesstimations...
Kid supposedly wears glasses in the manga (v1 ch3) and in an official mobile/online game's artwork he is shown wearing it. He also wears it in a mini comic booklet, but that isn't counted because it's like a "backstage" bonus.
Kid likely has "junk" parts. He mentions forgetting to fold the toilet paper, has a toilet in his mansion, and in the Fire Force mobile game he insinuates he has one.
Kid was likely not born as an infant. In the end of Fire force manga, and v19 ch77, it shows Kid at his youngest, maybe around 4 or 5 years old, and where lord death explains life and death like it's his first time explaining to him. You can also see an aura around Kid which might be an appearance effect and only shows in the Fire Force manga. We'll find out in the Fire Force season 3 anime whether it's true or not. Young Kid and Lord Death seem to be in the Death room, which might mean the DWMA was already constructed when this occurred. Also to make this claim more plausible, Asura was created in adulthood, so Lord death can choose any age he wants created from himself.

"The saving grace of Kurt’s swashbuckling is that it often includes a layer of irony and even a few tentative critiques of the toxic masculinity that informs certain heroic fantasies. In his ’85 miniseries, Cockrum has the princess offer herself to Kurt as a prize then flips the power dynamic; Kitty Pryde and Illyana Rasputin accidentally teleport away Kurt’s costume, leaving him naked and stammering before the princess’ lusty gaze. Cockrum also pokes fun at Kurt’s presumptions of chivalric heroism by introducing an anarchic, horny army of chibi Kurts, called Bamfs, who cause him plenty of trouble and embarrassment. And the female Bamfs turn the tables once again, making Kurt a victim of their aggressive flirtation, much to his chagrin. Other stories more directly interrogate Kurt’s fantasies. In Uncanny X-Men #204 (1987), reenacting the ’85 miniseries is presented as a desperate plot to avoid reckoning with difficult truths. A decidedly modern princess even accuses Kurt of being no different from the villainous Arcade: “Listen to yourself, Nightcrawler — you’re just like him! Hooked on excitement! … Is that all you are?!” And as much as Excalibur #16 indulges swashbuckling fantasies, it also forces Kurt to confront problematic preconceptions rooted in the conventions of the genre. By falsely assuming the beautiful blonde princess is a good guy while the blue pirates are bad guys, Kurt nearly gets himself and his teammates killed. There’s also an implied ironic distance in the simple fact that as much as Nightcrawler might want to be in like Flynn, he can’t. He’ll always be blue and furry with a tail and pointed ears and the wrong number of fingers and toes. In other words, he’s always obviously performing the part, and his performance is always partly inadequate. Classic X-Men #23 acknowledges this. When Kurt dons the colonial costume, it literally doesn’t fit. He has to cut the toes off the boots to accommodate his mutant feet, his difference bursting out of his generic costume. Kurt’s desire to be a leading man within a world that consistently tells him he can’t is also intensely identifiable, as well as strangely hopeful. Because most of the time, Kurt performs the part successfully enough to save the day. This speaks to the transformative power of escapism, which is literally Kurt’s superpower, after all; teleporting is a form of magical relocation which is a form of transformation. Sometimes, playing a role is as good as living a role, since a role is just that — a role, a part in a play that often gets cast a certain way but doesn’t have to. Escaping into different perspectives can help us see ourselves better, just like playing with roles can be a way of reshaping them to fit us better."
"Nightcrawler’s fondness for a nostalgic genre that was already out of fashion when the character debuted in 1975 also places him at odds with where superheroes and action genres in general were heading. Writing in 1977, Jeffrey Richards was already mourning the death of the swashbuckler: “The ringing speech, the romantic gesture, the balletic grace, the virtues which the swashbuckling hero incarnated … are alien to today’s style, which is tough, cynical, laconic, individualistic — in a word, ‘cool.’” In response to a 2021 Claremont Run thread about Nightcrawler, noted comics artist/writer Phil Jimenez strikes a similar tone, lamenting contemporary attempts to make Kurt a less joyful character: “It also makes me think about the drive by some to stamp out whimsy and flamboyance in super-hero comics, driven mostly by heterosexist fears, despite whimsy and flamboyance being baked into their DNA.” Coolness can be critical; it can also be cool for the sake of cool. And joy and flamboyance can offer their own kinds of critique and rebellion, especially in contexts that might be trying to stamp them out for the wrong reasons.
I never yearn for simpler times, which only ever seemed simple to certain people. But I often have occasion to feel nostalgic for heroes who like being heroes. Being a hero should be hard. But it doesn’t have to be joyless or prudish, and with the best versions of Nightcrawler, it isn’t. Dave Cockrum definitely understood that, which is why his birthday is Kurt’s."
"Like real-life people, Kurt Wagner is sometimes insecure; he sometimes doubts himself and struggles to decide what he wants; he sometimes makes bad choices and feels guilty and angry. Yet in the vast majority of his comic book stories, he has some core beliefs. This includes the belief his unique body, like every unique body, is special—even divine—and so is the pleasure that flows from and into that body. This version of Kurt Wagner passionately embraces sexual freedom and diversity for the same reason—because he knows, as well as any mutant out there, that all desires, and all bodies, deserve all kinds of love."

Do you think The Great Arthurian Movie To Rule Them All will ever be made? I know many think that it's Excalibur but we do really need for this century a movie (or perhaps a 2/3 movie saga, but no more) that covers Arthur and his world from his dark begetting at Tintagel to his last travel to Morgan's realm Avalon.
Ohh how I would love it. Unfortunately, I do not think so. I AM SORRY THIS IS GOING TO BE SO LONG
It looks like the movie industry in general is not doing so good, and I do not see them investing in a movie saga on King Arthur after the past flops. I do maybe have more hopes for smaller movies (smaller in scope/plot) like "The Green Knight", so nothing that comprehensive but maybe themes used here and there.
But yeah, I feel like it could only happens if/when we first have a very big success now. Merlin BBC was very successful I feel and it kind of gave rise to a bunch of movies and attempts, but after Camelot Starz, Cursed, the Winter King, the 2017 Guy Ritchie movie - it looks like it is failure after failure.
It is a pretty harsh space nowadays. People have been "trained out" from going to the movies during the main years of the pandemic, with studios sending their movies to digital very early (and sometimes directly). And old small tv-trashy movies are in such small number, because the competition is so high - you cannot throw it on some tv channel and force people to watch it because now people choose. Movies, shows, videogames - it is harsh out there.
Regarding tv shows, I have a bit more trust, but the streaming model also killed the old build up. Now it is one season or you get the axe, and with the competition it has to be a very good show or a very big name attached to it, or someone who insists on insuring that they will have multiple seasons (thank you "The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos", I had no doubt it would have been axed on s2 without an agreement).
I do have small hopes for tv series and maybe a new Camelot musical movie still. Maybe my hopes are silly, but if Wicked is a success it would be another in a series of movie musicals that were successful or well received. And regarding tv show, if there is a popular enough novel or series of novel in the future maybe we will have one. They really dropped the ball with the Winter King.
BTW, I just wanted to say, these last few years are a on the side of the less-arthurian-media (movies and shows) years. These are the last arthurian movies, all from 2021-2020:
We have three moves in the Fate series, which is the one successful arthurian franchise, alongside Kaamelott movie (another successful arthurian franchise), then we have two animated movies that are just arthurian-themed, then "Arthur and Merlin" which is from a smaller studio, and finally "The Green Knight" which is the one big studio movie there and it was also a success (it made a few million more than what it spent).
2022-2024 no arthurian movies.
If we look from the 60s till now we usually have at least a movie a year with sometimes a year being skipped. The other longer time was 1985-1987 where we had no movies, so we only have these two gaps.
For series, I have more hopes. I actually also hope for a full arthurian anime too. We had a lot of arthurian popular stuff from Japan: Nanatsu no Taizai, the whole Fate franchise which has multiple movies and series, plus there have been two arthurian musicals in the past few years.
So who knows! Maybe the next big arthurian "full on Arthur story" might end up being an expanded Camelot musical movie, or an anime!

Hey as fellow horror fan am I curious of your taste in horror media?especially the given the unique horror route you have chosen take with elegy of an empire .
Hey!
I love love love this question. I'm putting the answers below a cut because of the laundry list of dark themes and spoilers.
So the earliest influence for me was The Twilight Zone (1959-1964). I first watched it as a kid and it's been delightfully haunting me ever since. I intend to watch it through again as I'm confident I haven't seen every episode and at this point in my life it would give me new insight. My two favorite episodes are S01E08 Time Enough at Last and the very last episode of the original series, S05E36 The Bewitchin' Pool. The latter was an especial inspiration for Sir Gromer. Sounds insane but just trust me.
A fun horror movie I'm sure astute readers will see the inspiration from in my first book is The Witches of Eastwick (1987), particularly the polyamory and magical tennis match. I didn't even do this consciously, I just watched it again recently and sat up like:

I love how it blends bright colors and comedy with the grotesque. It's so camp and I think it's a great example of marrying "opposing" genres to heighten both.
Pairing movies together here, I really like how The Babadook (2014) and The Ritual (2017) portrayed grief and survivor's guilt, not only through the protagonists Amelia and Luke themselves, but the manifestations of literal monsters they're tormented by and powerless to do away with. Even if the endings are "happy," with the main characters surviving the narratives, the creatures remain undefeated, as they represent something they'll carry with them forever. Death cannot be undone.
Another show example would be the first season of AMC's The Terror (2018) following the Franklin Expedition in their futile pursuit of the Northwest Passage which devolves into illness, murder, and cannibalism agitated by the presence of a supernatural monster attacking and eating the men. (It's Quest for the Holy Grail coded if you squint.) I love that it starts out almost purely historical drama, with only a glimpse of the supernatural as a crewmember lay dying and appears to hallucinate. After he's dead and buried though, Tuunbaq the polar bear-esque monster hunts the survivors down and finishes them off. It's a commentary on the hubris of the Empire's imperialism. I just think adding some of these elements to a Grail Quest ala Sir John Boorman's Excalibur (1981) would go really hard.
Sort of building on the previous movies' themes, I think Arthuriana is ripe for haunted narratives. I love what Starz Black Sails (2014-2017) did with character deaths in season 3 and 4, with Miranda haunting Flint, appearing in his dreams and during times of stress, and then later Eleanor haunting Woodes by showing up out of focus in shots off to the side or making small knitting sounds while he struggles to think. Another great example is A24's Hereditary (2018), one of my favorite movies of all time. I think it was brilliant how the trailers seemed to focus on Charlie, leading viewers to believe she was the main character, only to brutally behead her fifteen minutes in. Her headless body then torments her brother Peter while their mother Annie spirals in her grief, first from losing her own mother who she hated and now her daughter, blaming Peter for Charlie's death.
Then of course there are books. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving does a wonderful thing with decadent descriptions of rich feasts and elegant high fashion clothing juxtaposed with formless dark evil lurking on the periphery, more so describing how the environment changes than the headless horseman himself. It reminds me a bit of J. R. R. Tolkien's translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight in how the environment and "monster," as it were, meld together. It really gives you a sense of the characters' mounting dread.
I love the works of H. G. Wells particularly The War of the Worlds and The Invisible Man. Now I don't write Science-Fiction, but Scifi and Fantasy are in a loving triple marriage with Horror so we're putting these here. With The War of the Worlds, aside from loving the prose itself, I was captivated by the insignificance of the narrator in the grand scheme of all that is happening around him. He felt so small, and yet he did what he could with the things in front of him. So many Arthurian books take the perspective of Arthur or Merlin, and while I wouldn't say Gawain or Mordred are insignificant in the fall of Camelot, I do think they offer a perspective that's more detached from the outcome, at least until the very end. Gawain is certainly not aware of all the prophecies that Merlin told of and which haunt Arthur and dog him day and night. He's just living his life when he unknowingly becomes an instrument of destruction through grief. I did enjoy the 2005 movie as well, I'm a sucker for powerful sound design. As for The Invisible Man, well Sir Gromer has an invisibility cloak. So. I mean the influence is pretty straight forward. But beyond that I also find the Griffin's personality to be fascinating. He's such an asshole. If you read my books and love to hate Gromer, well, take it up with Wells. I can fuck with a character who is a cunt.
There are other examples which I love, such as The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde or Dracula by Bram Stoker, but they have influenced me to a lesser degree. One could argue Dorian's fixation on beauty and youth played a role in how I depicted Ragnelle or Stoker's codified vampirism will effect how I write the sickly lady on Grail Quest who wanted the "healing" blood of Percival's sister.
The most recent Horror book I read was Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle which really raised the bar for me on queer autistic characters experiencing the horrors. It was so good I'll be chasing that high forever. While there isn't a ton of direct cross over from that work to mine, the presence of monsters tormenting queer autistic people is a subject of interest in both, so a general shout out to that for showing me it's possible to do that without being obnoxious about it the way The Winter Knight by Jes Battis was.
I'm probably forgetting something but that's basically a run down of my main inspirations. Many of those have dual genre, like Horror/Mystery or Horror/Fantasy, even Horror/Comedy, and I try to bring that to my work. If a story gets too heavy on one aspect, it falls flat. So I strive for balance in all things. Thanks for this ask I really enjoyed answering it and provided links to watch or read most things. I'd love to hear what Horror resonates with you and whether we have any overlap in our interests. Take care!

2020's Marvel Monograph: The Art of Arthur Adams - X-Men cover by....you guessed it...Art Adams. Featuring the X-Men of 1986-1987 (circa the Mutant Massacre crossover), Wolverine (brown & tan), Storm (in her powerless/mohawk/punk period), Nightcrawler, Shadowcat (before Excalibur), Lockheed, Rogue, Longshot, Psyclocke (before she switched bodies with Kwannon), and Colossus with his mid-1980s look from The Asgardian Wars (a kinda forgotten costume created in fact by Art Adams, and used in only one issue).

MojoWorld
A few of our prompts this year make specific reference to the comics. We know that not everyone has read the comics (there are a lot of X-Men comics out there) and we don’t want anyone to feel left out.
So, without further ado… Mojo.

Mojo is a character all about television, viewing figures, and especially consuming media in a mindless fashion. He will do whatever it takes to get top ratings. Which, often means excessive violence and abducting the X-Men to participate unwillingly in his programs. While the message can be quite ham-fisted at times, the stories can offer quite a variety of fun possibilities where we might find our favorite couple.

He is a petty tyrant. He rules his world with an iron grasp. The actors are basically slaves (you can find arcs about the slave revolts in the early issues of adjectiveless X-Men from the 1990s). Longshot was one of these actors who escaped and joined the X-Men. You’ll note his three fingers and a thumb, hollow bones, and a spine, which are characteristics of the actors in this world.

The ruling class of MojoWorld (including Mojo) are known as the ‘spineless ones.’ As the name implies, they have no spines. They lounge in this spider-legged chairs which support their corpulent bodies. At times he is portrayed with his eyes being held/forced open, so they can continue to consume media 24/7. Honestly, there is nothing subtle about the metaphors here.

Mojo has appeared not only in the comics, but has also appeared in animation. Episodes featuring him have aired in X-Men the Animated series, X-Men ‘97, and Wolverine and the X-Men. For the most part, he’s more of a general X-Men villain and will abduct various team member as is fitting for the plots of his productions. He has a wheel of genres, had created the X-Babies (as an X-Baby, Rogue is sometimes called Sugah), and had no compunctions about abducting and brainwashing people. His main underlings are Major Domo and Spiral.

X-Babies

(Various stories Mojo has considered producing.)

(Wheel of Genre, House of Ideas, The Wheel of Angsty Mutant Pain and Suffering)

Well that certainly isn't true. The pilot didn't even air until 1989. Kitty had already left the X-Men in 1987 to be one of the headliners in Excalibur. She didn't show up much in the other X-Books during the early 90s because Chris Claremont and Alan Davis were happy to let Excalibur just be its own wired little thing disconnected from the rest of the line. It wasn't until they both left that editors decided it needed to crossover more with the other titles. And when Excalibur ended in 1998 Kitty was instantly moved back to the X-Men. If any X-Men character seemed to lose their prominence because of the pilot's failure it was probably Dazzler. She just vanished from the comics for years after that. But unlike Kitty she did actually get to be in X-Men: The Animated Series, even if it was only for one episode. Is mad though that Kitty never even got so much as a cameo on that show. She's the only major classic X-Men who never did. Wonder if she'll ever show up on X-Men '97?

10 gifs from 10 of my favorite films
Thank you @complicitsacrilege for the tag!!
Tagging (as always, no pressure): @twink-with-an-agenda, @stuckasmain, @noodle-of-sunshine
These films are not ordered by rank!! Most of them have at some point in time been comfort watches.
The Hunger Games (2012): we are starting off basic. i grew up with this series lmao they were the one film series i actively made an effort to go see in theatres and the first one especially was extremely formative for me.
Shrek 2 (2004): if you have spoken more than like 3 words to me then u know that i'm strongly opinionated about shrek. shrek 2 is unironically the goat. i think my loved ones underestimate how insane i am over this film. when i was a baby i had a shrek 2 poster in my room.
Pan's Labyrinth (2006): probably my least objectively comforting comfort film. my introduction to guillermo del toro. the only other film of his i've seen was Pinocchio but i loved that too and i keep telling myself that i need to do a complete filmography watch bc sooo much of his other stuff sounds up my alley. i adore the faun's and the pale man's designs. gets bragging rights for being the one film soundtrack that i routinely revisit.
The Princess Bride (1987): normie comfort watch. westley is on my gender envy list. this one and shrek 2 are tied for funniest script to ever exist.
The Beauty and the Beast (1991): everyone has that one disney renaissance film that they latch onto. this one was mine.
The Prince of Egypt (1998): i have only watched this film once but it genuinely altered my brain chemistry.
Excalibur (1981): ditto but a little bit to the left.
Nimona (2023): i'd been following nimona since the graphic novel days. when the film released i watched it and sobbed and then immediately made my parents watch it. then a year later i came out to them as trans.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001): obligatory "what got you into archaeology?" film with a healthy dollop of kinning milo thatch.
Stand By Me (1986): i watched this as a film study in grade 10 english class and idk it still haunts me to this day
