Progress:
Okay so the authentication for spotify is hard for me to understand and requires user authentication, then making a token request that while expire in an hour. So i focused on what I did know how to do and what I had access to token wise. The Spotify developer home page has a temporary access token for demos. I took that token and made a function to make get request to the API and two functions for top tracks and top artists. Then made some functions to print them in my terminal. Here is what my end product looked like in the terminal.
The data for tracks is proving to just show a years worth of listening even though I specified long_term in my get request.
Here is my code:
I tried just doing track.artist but Spotify handles that as multiple artists so I had to handle them as such.
Next Steps: Tackling the user authentication and token requests and including it in this code.
(Also yes I know that is a concerning amount of My Chemical Romance tracks. I had my MCR phase strike up again with a passion last October and I am still balls deep in it.)

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry for the late update on my #coderchronicle blog. For my second assignment, we were tasked to create a webpage tackling Issues on Protected Areas.
I noticed improvements in my coding as time went on. See the screen capture of the HTML file in this post.
I am open to any comments and suggestions (positive or negative).

let today = new Date("12 December 2023");
Hey coders!
The past couple of months I've been a frontend developer intern at an e-sports company and it's been so amazing! I am realizing that yeah, this is exactly what I want to do! I feel super lucky.
Anyway, today, and for the past like week, I have been struggling with implementing the multiselect from react-select in a form we are building in my team. It's a very complicated field, where you can choose from different lists, with values that need to be replaced and disabled depending on which list you are choosing from and what has already been chosen, so just getting the logic right was tough.
Today I got it working, only to realize I can't style it without all the functionality breaking. Feeling like I've tried everything, I was like: you know what? Fuck it, I'm just gonna make my own. Sooo here I am!
This is the inspo (from react-select):
And this is how far I've gotten(using our on-brand styles):
Anddd here's my (non funcitoning) code:
To break it down:
I have a div that contains a span (which will be rendered from an array of options, to be the yellow chip) and an invisible input field
The div is styled to look like an input field, but in reality it's just a div with spans and an invisible input field following the span (lol special thanks to this stack overflow thread)
When the user types, I am listening to what keys they are pressing with a function I am currently calling handleReturn
If the pressed key is "Enter", I will push the current value of the field to the options array
But! This does not do anything at the moment, since the options array does not tell the component to update itself in any way to display the newly added value! For that, I need to make the options array be a state using the useState() hook from React!
When a state is changed, react's useState can tell, and it will rerender (=update) the component, and then my new value will (...should) be shown as well, since it will be using the new array with new values!
Stay tuned for updates(:

Meeeee (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
Hallo there ‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
A little intro would be in order
My name’s Sam, 20 , a lover of learning, pinterest addict
I’m currently self studying frontend development, illustration(Adobe Illustrator) and a bit of ui/ux design.
In my free time, I read. Well I used to but I dunno… I don’t seem to do so anymore. Every book these days makes me sad. And I really want to get into the classics and Russian literature but they’re just so sad! Well maybe not all of them are sad sad but they have sad scenes where some character dies and it gets to me Every Time.(╥﹏╥) I’m working on it though, I’m pushing through David Copperfield. I love love looove the book so I’ve gotten very far by taking a one week pause after every heart breaking event. Like when…okay no spoilers.
I love learning philosophy, psychology, coding , science ( esp physics), pure mathematics and history. I’m not as well versed in them as I’d like but we learn every day!!
Career-wise I’d want to enter the engineering field.Electrical engineering orsomething related cos it's absolutely exciting!
Languages; I speak English, Fante and Norwegian( cos I moved here). AND I’m currently learning French( A2)
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩ ✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩ ✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩ ✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩ ✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹
What I’ve learnt so far: It’s really not so easy to learn a new skill sometimes. On most days I just want to give up cos it gets so frustrating. But that’s the price to pay I think. If you keep showing up, you’ll improve. You can’t not improve even if you tried. Put in the practice, mindful practice mind you. It’s not just about the number of hours you spend practicing. You have to make sure you’re learning and reviewing your mistakes at every point. But sometimes, you CAN’T find your mistakes. No biggie, just keep practicing. As you do it over and over again, your brain automatically learns what works and doesn’t. Trust me, the brain is wayyyyy more awesome than we think it is.
Souuu I’ll be blogging my journey. Everything about it and everything in between. I look forward to it ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝).
Oh and here's my personal blog @hekademia
