Impact of Intel's Decision on Magdeburg's Economy and Jobs
It was to be the most foreign investment Germany has experienced after war. But US giant Intel has chosen to postpone plans for a large chip plant in the eastern city of Magdeburg. The €30 billion project would have created 3,000 jobs. It would have given a major boost to an area historically lagging the rest of the nation. I am joined in exploring this further by Professor Mel Tum, director of…
Big cat bastard Ghost who absolutely tricks you into the enclosure by telling you the lions were in the back and then delights as you absolutely freak out thinking you are going to die.
Gaz at all times has a little trail of penguins behind him those little bastards adore this man and in fact nip at you whenever you get near him (he makes a point to always get near you because he finds angry penguins attacking you very funny).
Soap has not once told you the truth about how dangerous the insects, arachnids, or snakes he has made you hold for photos are. He does enjoy watching when you later read the little plaques and go a funny shade of green at how close you came to a very grusome demise.
Price is frequently making national news because he is teaching the gorilla's sign language (and telling them your name is good girl so that they sign it at you whenever you walk past that enclosure).
You reckon you could get them all back given how much your wolves seem to like you, but it's sort of weird that the four most playful and safe ones are never about at the same time as the 141 :')
pathologic but it's a lost 1920s german expressionist film [id under cut]

image 1: a digital drawing of a fake poster, using bright colours and rough, painterly brushstrokes. the title, 'pest' (german for 'plague'), is written at the top in spiky black text. in the foreground a man dressed as a tragedian is staring intently at the viewer, his hands raised and splayed as if in horror. in the background, the town is framed against a red sky, with the polyhedron in yellow behind.
images 2 and 3: fake casting sheets for the film, with the names of the actors and the characters they are playing above a black-and-white portrait photograph of them. all the text is in german. in english it reads:

image 4: four digital sketches of set designs for various locations. all are strongly influenced by expressionist imagery, using extreme angles, warped perspective, and dramatic shapes. they are labelled 'street 1' (a street lined with houses), 'street 2' (a square with a lamppost and a set of steps), 'polyhedron exterior' (the polyhedron walkway), and 'cathedral interior' (the dais at the far end of the cathedral).
image 5: four digital drawings in a black-and-white watercolour style, showing fake stills from the film. all are similarly distorted and lit by dramatic lighting. the first shows katerina's bedroom, with katerina standing in the centre of the floor. the second shows the interior of an infected house. the third shows daniil staring out of the frame in horror, one hand on his head and the other raised as if to ward something off. the fourth shows an intertitle with jagged white text reading 'the first day' against a dark background.
This small hide-and-seek shrine in Setagaya in Tokyo is a so-called hokora (祠), a miniature Shinto shrine that is dedicated to minor kami not under the jurisdiction of any large shrine. This one doesn't even have its own name, as far as I can ascertain, though it's beautifully maintained. It's in a tree-lined street that happens to have a very good bakery and ice cream shop.
Back to the little shrine itself. I wonder who lives here. I like to think it's a dōsojin (道祖神 or road ancestor deity), protector of travellers, pilgrims and villages. I could be very wrong, but...that's what I imagine.
Two very unfortunate (or hilarious) things about the german version of the murderbot diaries is that not only did they manage to translate the title All Systems Red as Systemausfall (eng. system failure) when one future installation turned out to be named System Collapse, they also managed to turn Rogue Protocol into Exit Szenario (no need to translate) right before Exit Strategy came out.
Simon Lazenby spluttering when Sebastian Vettel asks him a very simple "what do you make of the stewards punishing wearing a gay rights shirt?" because sky sports are ultimately cowards in the name of appearing 'unbiased'
Nico Rosberg interjecting: "I'll take it, I'll take for you. Ridiculous."
see how easy it is to condemn something that's wrong, even if the boss man paying you doesn't agree?

Plem Plem Productions have done an incredible job translating my comic book Jeff Job Hunter into German!
Not only that, but they had an amazing idea where you can design your own cover using stickers!
It's been so fun to see such a fresh and playful spin on the book, and I hope you all enjoy it!
You can preorder it here (along with my other comic book DER DSCHUNGEL)
