My fluffy and spicy Sans headcanons

Keep in mind that you can imagine him however you want and it's all valid! I like many interpretations. I enjoy reading and looking at many versions of him.

Okay!

Here we go.

Let's start soft and fluffy...

I imagine that he'd be mesmerized by heartbeat.

In my headcanon soul emits a very quiet white noise (so nice to fall asleep to!) which intensifies while the magic is excited. But it's nowhere near as intense as heartbeat. Imagine him astonished by how the heartbeat speeds up and slows down. Imagine him shocked into silence as he discovers how the pulse feels under his fingers. You're alive. You're there with him. Solid, physical, real. Blood flowing through your veins. Your heart beating strong.

Next wonder — the softness of human body. The stark contrast between muscles tensed and hardened like steel, and the softness that comes with relaxation.

The change immediate.

How is that possible?

Strained muscles relaxing when you want to touch him gently, lovingly, in a fraction of a second. It's amazing. He's amazed.

The way your body yields to the hardness of his bones.

How he can literally sink into your arms. Imagine his wide open eyesockets as he feels your skin and muscles molding to his body, enveloping him in safe warmth.

And now let's go forward to where the real fun starts. Sans has got no lips. What does it mean?

He's got no idea how suction feels like.

How would he know?

Let's think about it. He basically has got no way of knowing. There is no way any everyday object could accidentally create such sensation.

Now imagine you are the first person to kiss his face, to suck at his neck, to…

It would be a breathtaking experience. His mind would crash. Think of the possibilities. Heh. Heheheh. Yup. Fun time. Good time.

Aaand to get you out of that warm, enticing mindspace — imagine how your hair would constantly get stuck between the joints of his body. I think there must be some sort of clever magic shielding such spots from dirt and dust, same as his eyesockets. A sort of force field to keep the tiny trash particles away.

But your hair does not fall into that category. No, no. It gets stuck in the worst possible moments, it gets ripped out of your head so often that you learn not to wince anymore, and it somehow always finds its way under his clothes and wraps around his vertebrae or ribs. Imagine him confused in the early dating stages how the heck did it get in there — he's not even got naked with you yet and somehow he keeps finding your hair in the weirdest places.

Later it becomes part of his morning routine. He cleans his face, brushes his teeth and gets your hair out of his body.

Did you know that in Korea they changed chanko's outfit (like covered her body up more) it's on the official Korean YouTube channel where they uploaded mvs to celebrate 10 years. I'll link the video on dms. Just thought it was something to share (since it seems that chanko, ajimi, and cosmo most likely won't get to perform in Idol land)

That is... interesting.

Chanko is a sad story, really.

Even though she may have been initially included as a joke character, they gave her everything she needed to become a fan favorite. She debuted with a CG model and a kickass song. (Just My Chance Call in the PriParis movie.)

Anyone can be an idol after all, right?

But I heard that a lot less tickets were sold during the week they showed her performance in the movie. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I also remember hearing that route wasn't even shown in Korea at all? :(

And despite this spotlight, I don't remember seeing almost any merch of her, except maybe a cafe badge? And then she more or less faded into the background after season 3, never really being included in most places where all the other idols are included despite having a full debut and everything.....

They tried. I love how inclusive they really tried to be! I love PriPara for that because they really do practice what they preach with the whole everyone can be an idol motto!

But the world wasn't ready for Chanko.

sometimes I think of all the on-the-surface warm, well-meaning but deeply ineffectual advice and attention john gives harrow through harrow the ninth (make some soup and get some sleep! get a hobby! don't be so hard on yourself! self care harrow! as long as I need take no actual responsibility in this relationship whatsoever I would have loved to be your dad!) set up against the stark truth that with his other hand he has been staging her attempted horrific murder again and again and again like a living nightmare on the logic that it will 'put her down or fix her'. and then I find that I wish there is a hell. a special hell where twitch streamers turned necromantic death emperors go

I might be poking at a bear here but I kinda really dislike the "all or nothing" attitude the WoF fandom has. This character is evil the worst piece of garbage imaginable or is secretly a great character and you're just a fool for thinking otherwise. It's ridiculous at times

Like I recall the stuff with Secretkeeper a while back. Now, call me crazy, but I don't think she's some horrifically abusive and neglectful parent. She did the best that she could. Was it great? No, but she was trying to keep her daughter safe in a hostile world that she was terrified would reject or, worse, hunt her. Her leaving Moon alone for days was bad, yes, but she wanted to keep Moon free from the horrors of the volcano. She loved Moon and clearly took care of her a lot. You can't just look at a character and paint them as being a "horrible abusive POS" for something that, let's be real here, is much more forgivable and understandable than anything Coral, Scarlet, Diamond, Cobra, Jerboa, or Kestrel did

Nostalgia For A Time That Never Existed in Washington DC - 26 May 2024

I finished Naomi Novik's Spinning Silver. Y'all. Such a beautiful book. It did, in some ways, go the way of Beauty and the Beast with the love interests. The romance with the tsar was implied at the end, but much more explicit with the Staryk lord. So while I had perhaps hoped it might have ended in them escaping the trappings of forced marriage, I can't be entirely mad. The romance was earned.

I had more coherent thoughts about this last night when I was lying in bed, thinking about the book, but wanted to share what little I still remember.

There was another theme that I picked up on the further I read, which was this: what you do in the end is more important than why you are doing it, how long it took you to get there, or what you did before. So many times, characters do good things for their own self-benefit, and the book doesn't condemn this motivation. It is a neutral thing. Everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do. Irina wants to save her homeland from war and starvation, and it doesn't matter what happens to anyone else. At first, Miryem wants to win back for her family what her father's kindness has stolen, in the way of health and wealth. And then, she wants to win back her freedom to make a future of her own choosing. Wanda wants a full belly and to avoid her father's beatings and his plan to sell her for drinking money. First she is only concerned for herself, but then for her brothers, too.

And there's a second part to this theme: you can change your mind. When presented with new information, each character changes their mind about their course of action, and takes a different course instead. Character growth is less about become a better person, and more about how learning about others changes your perspective and naturally leads to different actions. Even the proud Staryk lord, when Miryem proves her worth over and over, reassesses and changes his behavior towards her. But he has not become less proud, he has not changed who he is.

Ultimately, this is a book about people making decisions, about those who influence those decisions, and the actions that follow.

Also, the romance is incredibly understated, which is a huge bonus in my book.

I enjoyed it immensely and could see myself coming back to this story and reading it again.

The frustrating part about conversations like "should people with self-harm scars warn others before showing off their body?" and conversations like it is how nobody would tell me that my scars are obscene or should be hidden despite, literally, being self-harm scars. They just do not know because people literally do not know what self-harm scars are and what self-harm is.

Our bodies are not vulgar or gross. We deserve to live our lives, and if our scars make you uncomfortable, we can be compassionate about that, but that doesn't mean that our bodies are Bad and should be Locked Away. Treat us like we belong, because we do.
