man, I am in such love with vyncent sol being comepletely unable to trust things and being oh so stubborn about it. He came from a world where danger is around every corner, so he’s prepared he’s on edge. His own dad betrayed him. HIS OWN DAD. So of course it makes sense he would have difficulty trusting people.
And then he comes to Prime, a whole new world with new rules and things he doesn’t, can’t ever understand. And then as he’s still trying to get things under control, he gets betrayed by Doug! Bam he’s betrayed again, and it’s like well at least he can trust his friends and father figure, no wait, tide betrays them as well!(albit not consciously) Even he works with Mal a little bit to prove his own home, so he’s learning that no one can be trusted not even himself!
And even William and Dakota betray him by not agreeing with him on killing the lynch. His best friends. Can not be trusted.
And because every single thing in this fucked up world has tried to hurt him, he runs into initiative sword first. He hits first asks questions later. Because asking questions first is how you end up dead. It’s a lesson this world has taught him over and over again. At this point he’d be stupid not to learn it.

Prompt 297
“I feel like we should be concerned about Tim.”
“Honestly we should always be concerned about him, but what made you realize it this time?”
“Have you seen his search history- wait no you haven’t you haven’t been in the cave all day, look at this-”
“...'Is it legal to adopt the ghost of a kid? Can someone call CPS on a family’s ghost? How to take care of ghosts 101? How do you get a ghost of a child to not be scared? What to do if you find ghost children in your home? What the fuck…?”
“Exactly, I think he needs an intervention.”
Or in other words, after getting thrown into another dimension thanks to the GIW destroying most of Amity, a trio of ghost children decide to crash in this seemingly abandoned apartment building. No one seems to live here anyway…
Tim Drake on the other hand, gets a notification that there’s someone in his main safehouse that he might’ve slightly forgotten about thanks to having his house-boat now, and sees a trio of starved looking ghost kids

do- do you think logan wakes up from a particularly awful nightmare crying out for his 'dad'/'pops' and wade of course immediately comforts him and settles him down, and later on, when he's got logan tucked firmly under his arm, he asks. He doesn't usually, but logan had never talked about his parents before and wade couldn't hold his tongue.
and logan flushes, and admits quietly that the nightmare was about charles dying, and wade doesn't push, but just holds logan that bit tighter
(Update: @midnights-dragon wrote this so perfectly well and im in love so if you want to cry pls go read it here rn!!)

When I see Jason and Bruce acting like the stereotypical "prodigal son and gruff but loving father" (in canon!) my blood boils.
Jason died. Bruce did not avenge him, not even "playing by the rules", so not even by arresting the Joker. He didn't do JACK SHIT after his boy was murdered.
And once Jason came back, Bruce slit his throat in order to save the life of the man who murdered him, and then left him to die in a burning building.
They should be unable to coexist in the same room let alone speak let alone have a "difficult but ultimately loving relationship". I hate you DC I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE

I believe that the Deathwatch knows about the "Ultramarine Depression Beard." They just have the causality backwards. Their apothecaries believe that the beard causes Ultra-depression, rather than being a side effect of it, ergo they remove the beard but not the underlying condition. This is why Titus, despite displaying most other classic symptoms of Ultra-depression, remains clean shaven

My interpretation of Phil using a backpack for balance:
The bag isn't literally a counterweight; the backpacks are inexplicable black holes of storage, and the feathers that would be trimmed in a normal wing clipping are incredibly light. Those weights probably don't even out.
But if his wings weren't clipped carefully, and either bone or muscle was significantly damaged in the process (struggle?), maybe Philza's issue (other than lack of flight feathers) has been an inability to hold his wings closed. The backpack might not be a counterweight, but rather a sling to keep his wings from flopping around. Phil might be able to deal with changes in how much weight he's carrying, but not with the constant changes to his center of gravity that broken wings could cause in a fight.

I feel like... Perhaps... Arguing that transphobia is defined by murder and that anything other than murder doesn't even matter... May NOT be conducive to fighting for trans rights.
Like... people want the right to exist as they are. They want to have access to hrt and surgeries and prosthetics. People want access to clothes that fit them and reflect how they want to be seen. People want access to medical care (eg. Getting screened and treated for sex-based forms of cancer can be impossible if you have the "wrong" sex listed to receive those tests). People want to be respected and treated well. People want to not be sexually assaulted and beaten and abused. People want to have access to housing and jobs, and the protection to not lose those things for being trans. People want access to shelters for homeless people or survivors of domestic abuse. People want name changes.
Acting like all of those things don't matter because at least they weren't murderered by an individual (and instead die of suicide or state violence, or survive and suffer) isn't okay.

also as long as I’m makin more rise posts let the record show that i am thinking about “NYC rogues gallery puts crime on hold to help out in the aftermath of the Movie while the Mad Dogs recover” 24/7
Like I know Hypno and Warren disappear from the movie after the first act or so but I’ve decided they feel really really bad and try to help out. Warrens able to get into small spaces in collapsed buildings and stuff and check if anyones stuck inside, and then Hypno gets them out. They also use his hypnosis to make people forget they saw them so they don’t get in trouble. I think they send the turtles a nice “sorry we inadvertently let aliens invade New York” gift basket too.
Repo Mantis hauling away rubble in the aftermath. He acts like it’s just cuz it’s good valuable scrap but he’s also losing just as much scrap giving away building/repair materials and helping fix up cars and generators for folks.
the purple dragons keeping wifi/cell service alive so people can contact their families and make sure they’re safe.
Big Mama’s hotel opening its doors to both yokai and humans who lost their homes.
Meat Sweats giving out hot meals to people.
TODD. JUST TODD.
What can I say I love 9-5 villains who are like “we may be evil but we aren’t MONSTERS” ok

Advice for writing Aang in a Zutara fic: if your doing the love triangle route and he's irritating you, consider making him disappointed instead of jealous over them dating. He's super supportive of Katara and he would definitely be happy for them.
yessss this. I’m adjusting dialog while I go back and check for errors, overall I think in the show he just has a very childish attitude so I’m trying to stay true to his more childish nature. might upset some people with aang in this fic, because let’s be honest kids aren’t the most observant sometimes and he is technically just a kid going through some very traumatic events. I don’t want this fic to come out as another zutara fic where the author just has a vendetta against kataang, so I’ll try to be as realistic and fair as possible. don't worry there will be plenty of disappointed aang over jealous aang :)
thanks for bringing this up anon <3

Hakkai could've ended up like Taiju (to an extent ig) but he didn't.
He didn't because Mitsuya saw him beat up that kid and stopped him. And became his friend, someone he can relie on, someone who welcomes him in his home
Taiju didn't have a Mitsuya. Or any meaningful relationship really. He did what his father did – because that's what children do, copy what they see – and beat up those kids. And his siblings.
And no one was there to stop him
No one was there to show him another way
