a/n: heyyyy i’m in my comeback era lol. i know this isn’t my normal story but i hope you all like it!
FLUFF!!!
college harry and college y/n :)
a lil over 3k words
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Y/N had always loved the little things—those small comforts in life that made everything just a bit easier to handle. A warm cup of coffee on a cold morning, a good book, a quiet café—these were the things that kept her grounded during the hustle and bustle of college life. So, when she found The Java Joint on her new college campus, it quickly became her go-to spot. The cozy little café was tucked away in a corner of campus, offering a peaceful escape from the chaos of lectures and assignments.
Every morning, she would grab her backpack, shuffle to the café, and order her usual: a caramel latte with an extra shot. It became part of her routine, something she could rely on. But it wasn’t just the coffee that kept her coming back—it was him.
Harry Styles, the barista with the wild curls, kind eyes, and easy smile that made her heart do a little flip every time he greeted her.
The first time she noticed him was a few weeks into her first semester. He had smiled at her from behind the counter, his voice warm and inviting as he asked for her order. He had an easy confidence about him, effortlessly charming but not overbearing. It was the way he remembered her name the second time she came in, the way he made her feel like she was the only person in the room. Every time Y/N walked into the café, Harry’s bright smile greeted her like they were old friends, even though they barely knew each other.
It wasn’t like Y/N hadn’t tried to make conversation—she had. She would chat with him about her day, about her classes, about the weather—but she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more to their interactions. Something she didn’t quite understand yet.
One chilly October morning, Y/N shuffled into The Java Joint, still feeling groggy from an all-nighter spent studying for an exam. Her body craved coffee more than sleep, and she couldn’t resist the temptation. As usual, the place was busy, with students hunched over their laptops and exchanging quiet conversations. But Y/N’s attention immediately went to the counter, where Harry was working, his hands deftly moving as he made drink after drink.
“Morning, Y/N!” Harry greeted with a grin as she walked up to the counter.
“Morning,” she replied, leaning against the counter with a sigh. “I’m so tired today. I don’t even know how I managed to get out of bed.”
Harry chuckled, his brown eyes sparkling. “You and me both. Finals are coming up, huh?”
Y/N nodded, her eyes flickering to the row of pastries behind the counter. “Yeah, and I have a ton of projects. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost all concept of time at this point.”
He leaned closer, lowering his voice slightly. “Don’t worry, you’ll make it through. Coffee is the secret to survival.”
She laughed, rolling her eyes. “If I didn’t have coffee, I don’t know how I’d function. Actually, scratch that—without you, I don’t think I’d make it.”
Harry raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “Me, huh? What did I do to earn that kind of praise?”
“You remember my usual order,” Y/N said with a smile. “That’s impressive. Most people forget what I order after a few weeks, but you... you’ve got it down.”
He grinned, making her a cup of coffee with ease. “You’re one of my best regulars. You’re hard to forget.”
Y/N couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at her lips as he slid her drink across the counter. She took the cup, savoring the warmth of it in her hands. “Thanks, Harry. You’ve just saved my day.”
“No problem,” he said, his voice light and playful. “Enjoy that latte. You’ve earned it.”
As Y/N turned to head toward her usual spot in the corner, she felt her heart race unexpectedly. The way Harry had looked at her just now—like she mattered—made her feel warm in a way that wasn’t just the coffee. But she shook off the thought, focusing on the relief that came with finally getting her caffeine fix.
The days that followed felt like a blur of exams, deadlines, and last-minute assignments. But every morning, Y/N made it a point to visit The Java Joint. She didn’t even have to order—Harry knew exactly what she wanted by the time she reached the counter.
One particular morning, she arrived later than usual. The café was crowded with students, all of them hunched over their laptops or chatting with friends. She stood in line, trying to catch her breath after rushing across campus, when Harry caught her eye from behind the counter. His lips curved into a smile the moment their eyes met.
“Y/N! The usual?” he called over the noise of the café.
She nodded, feeling a little embarrassed by the fact that he knew her order by heart. “Yeah, I’m running late today. Can you make it a large?”
“You got it.” Harry’s smile widened, and he made her coffee without missing a beat. But this time, something felt different. There was a certain warmth in his gaze as he handed her the cup.
“Thanks, Harry,” Y/N said, offering him a small smile as she took her drink.
“Anytime,” he replied, his tone sincere. “You’ve got a big day ahead of you?”
“Yeah, a presentation and a paper due,” she explained, feeling a little guilty for not being more enthusiastic. “I’ll probably be at the library for the rest of the day.”
“Ugh, that sounds exhausting,” Harry said sympathetically. “But hey, you’ve got coffee, so you’re halfway there.”
Y/N couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s true. Coffee always wins.”
As she walked toward the table by the window, her heart fluttered again. The way Harry had looked at her—there was something behind those brown eyes that made her feel like she was the only one in the room. She tried to shake the thought away, telling herself she was probably reading too much into it. After all, he was just being friendly, right?
But as the day went on, the thought lingered. There was something about the way Harry smiled at her, the way he took the time to remember her order, the way his eyes softened whenever she walked into the café. It was more than just a friendly gesture—it felt... personal.
The following week, after yet another hectic day, Y/N decided to stop by The Java Joint again. This time, there was a noticeable shift in the atmosphere. The café was quieter than usual, with only a handful of students scattered around. Harry was behind the counter, casually wiping down the counter when he saw her walk in.
“Hey, Y/N. You want your usual?” Harry asked, his eyes sparkling with that familiar mischief.
Y/N smiled, but something was different this time. There was a feeling in the air—something electric. Maybe it was just the exhaustion settling in, or maybe it was the way Harry had looked at her just now. But Y/N felt her heart race in a way she couldn’t quite explain.
“Actually,” she said, hesitating for a moment. “Do you think you could make it... extra sweet today? I’m feeling a little adventurous.”
Harry raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Extra sweet, huh? You sure?”
She nodded, a mischievous grin tugging at the corner of her lips. “Yeah, let’s see if you can handle it.”
“Challenge accepted,” Harry said with a playful grin. He set to work, making the drink with a little more care than usual. Y/N watched him, her heart skipping a beat. There was something magnetic about him, something that made it impossible to look away. The way he moved behind the counter—so effortlessly, so naturally—made it seem like he was in his element.
As he handed her the cup, he leaned in slightly, his voice lowering. “Extra sweet, just like you asked.”
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat at the unexpected compliment, but she quickly recovered. “Thanks, Harry.”
He grinned, clearly pleased with himself. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”
Y/N nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. “Definitely.”
The next few days felt like they passed in a blur of exams and assignments, but Y/N couldn’t stop thinking about Harry. Every time she walked into The Java Joint, it felt like there was this unspoken connection between them, something that made her heart race and her palms sweat.
Finally, on a quiet Friday morning, Y/N decided to take a chance. She had finished her last exam for the week and had a little free time before her next class. She walked into The Java Joint, hoping to catch Harry before he got too busy. As usual, he was behind the counter, and his face lit up when he saw her walk in.
“Y/N! What can I get for you today?” Harry asked with his signature grin.
“Actually,” Y/N said, taking a deep breath. “I was wondering... would you want to grab coffee outside of here sometime? Just the two of us?”
Harry’s eyes widened, and for a moment, he looked taken aback. But then, his face broke into a grin, and he stepped closer to the counter. "I’ve been waiting for you to ask," he said, his voice soft but playful.
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t expected him to answer so quickly, and the way he looked at her made her heart skip a beat. "Really?" she asked, trying to sound casual, even though her pulse was racing.
"Yeah," Harry replied, his eyes meeting hers with a warmth that made her feel like she was the only person in the room. "I’ve been thinking about asking you for a while, actually. Just... didn’t know if you were into the idea."
Y/N felt a wave of relief wash over her. For a second, she had been worried she might’ve misread the signs. But now that Harry was admitting he’d been thinking the same thing, she felt her nervousness melt away.
"So..." Harry began, his voice teasing, "coffee outside the café. When works for you?"
Y/N smiled, a playful gleam in her eye. "How about right now? I’ve got an hour free before my next class."
Harry raised his eyebrows, looking pleased. "Right now, huh? Bold move, I like it."
"Well," Y/N shrugged, trying to act nonchalant, "I figured if we’re gonna do this, we might as well do it now. No time like the present, right?"
"You’re absolutely right," Harry said, pushing himself away from the counter. He grabbed his jacket, which had been hanging on a nearby hook. "Let’s go, then."
Y/N followed him out of the café, feeling an excited flutter in her chest. As they stepped outside into the crisp autumn air, Harry turned to her with a grin.
“So, where are we going? You pick," he said, looking genuinely curious. "I’m happy to let you choose the place.”
Y/N paused for a moment, thinking. “There’s a little park just off campus. It’s not too far. I like it there, especially when it’s quiet.”
Harry smiled. “Sounds perfect. Lead the way.”
They walked side by side through campus, exchanging small talk and laughing over silly stories about their college experiences. Y/N found herself relaxing in a way she hadn’t expected. There was no awkward tension, no nerves. It felt natural, like they were simply two people who had known each other for much longer than they actually had.
As they reached the park, they found a bench by a small pond. The trees surrounding them were beginning to change colors, their leaves a vibrant mix of orange, yellow, and red. The air was crisp, and the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow across the park. It was the perfect setting, and Y/N felt like she was in a dream.
They sat down, their legs almost touching. Harry turned to her, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. “So, Y/N... What’s something about you that I don’t know yet?”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the question. “Hmm... that’s a good one. I guess... I’ve always wanted to travel more. Like, really travel. Europe, Asia, South America... I want to see the world. I think it’s the one thing I’ve always been sure about.”
Harry nodded, his eyes soft as he listened. “I think that’s amazing. You’ve got that sense of adventure, huh?”
Y/N smiled shyly, feeling a little embarrassed by the vulnerability in her voice. “I guess I do. What about you? What’s something I don’t know about you?”
Harry hesitated for a moment, his eyes flickering toward the pond before meeting her gaze again. “I think... I’ve always wanted to write songs. I’ve got this notebook full of lyrics and ideas, but I’ve never really shared them with anyone.”
Y/N was surprised. She had always known Harry was into music—she’d heard him talk about it a few times—but the idea of him being a songwriter felt... personal. “Wow, that’s incredible,” she said softly. “I didn’t know that.”
Harry smiled, a little shy now. “Yeah, it’s something I’m still working on. Maybe one day, I’ll show someone my stuff. But I guess it’s kind of a private thing for me.”
“You should definitely share it one day,” Y/N said, her voice sincere. “I’m sure it’s amazing.”
They sat in silence for a moment, simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The pond rippled gently in front of them, and a few ducks glided across the water. It was the kind of moment Y/N wished could last forever—simple, but perfect in its own way.
Eventually, Harry turned to her, his expression more serious now. “Y/N,” he said, his voice quiet but steady. “I’m really glad you asked me out. I’ve wanted to do this for a while, but I didn’t know if you felt the same. I really like you.”
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat at his words. The way he was looking at her—so genuine, so open—made her feel like she was floating. “I like you too, Harry,” she said, her voice soft but firm. “More than I expected.”
Harry smiled, a mixture of relief and happiness in his expression. He reached for her hand, gently taking it in his. “I’ve been thinking about you a lot, honestly. I didn’t want to make things weird by asking you out while I’m just the barista at The Java Joint, but... I’m glad I did.”
Y/N laughed, squeezing his hand. “If it makes you feel better, I’ve been thinking about you a lot, too. I was honestly starting to wonder if I was reading too much into things.”
Harry chuckled, the sound light and easy. “I guess we’re both a little shy when it comes to this kind of stuff.”
“Yeah,” Y/N agreed with a smile. “But I’m glad we took the leap.”
As they sat there, talking and laughing under the golden afternoon sun, Y/N realized that this—whatever it was between them—felt like something real. The connection she had with Harry was undeniable, and it wasn’t just about the coffee. It was the way he made her feel, the way they fit together in a way that seemed effortless, even though they hadn’t known each other for long.
After a while, Harry stood up and stretched, looking down at Y/N. “I don’t want to keep you from your next class, but I’d like to do this again sometime. You know, the coffee-and-chat thing.”
Y/N smiled, standing up beside him. “I’d love that. Same time next week?”
Harry grinned. “It’s a date.”
As they walked back toward campus, hand in hand, Y/N couldn’t stop smiling. The whole day felt like a dream, and as she looked at Harry beside her, she knew this was just the beginning of something amazing.
In the weeks that followed, their relationship blossomed. They spent more time together, grabbing coffee before class, talking late into the night, and sharing their dreams and fears. And every time Y/N stepped into The Java Joint, it felt like the universe had conspired to bring them together. What had started with a simple coffee order had turned into something real—a bond neither of them had expected but both cherished.
And every time Harry made her a latte, with just the right amount of sweetness, Y/N couldn’t help but smile. After all, it was the little things—like a cup of coffee—that had brought them to this moment. And it was the little things that made her realize just how lucky she was to have found him.

✰ stray kids as uni bfs!
warnings: mentions of food, too much boyfriend material, cause of death: uni!seungmin, inconsistent use of correct spelling
welcome to my first post! <3
-✰bang chan
uni!bangchan definitely… struggles :’) he stays awake till 2-3am every night, either doing homework or procrastinating and making music. thank god his roommate basically lives with their partner, because u get to stay in his dorm with him during these early mornings, urging him to stay on task so he can sleep.
u guys met at the gym!!! u were trying to get back into exercising after the spring break and he saw u on the treadmill. literally hearts in his eyes. like the shy guy he is, he waited until u were almost out of the door before asking “do u go to the uni around here?”
let’s just say he was giggling and kicking his feet when u offered ur number to him <3
bang chan credits u for every completed assignment! he loves that u are so willing to help him, even if he is embarrassed to ask sometimes. (it goes like, “babe.. ugh i’m so sorry but what the fuck does he mean by this?”)
he will get u breakfast from the campus cafe before all of ur morning classes. he says it’s his job as a boyfriend, even if he only got four hours of sleep! (one time he slept in and got u lunch AND dinner to make up for it)
-✰lee know
lee know is an interesting student to say the least. his electives are all “art 101” and “basket weaving” because those are the ‘easy’ classes (sadly, no college class is easy) though, surprisingly, he is very interested in his major classes! studious student.
his go-to look is glasses with a comfy hoodie and sweatpants. when u see him on campus u can’t help but stare. comfy bf material.
u guys always seemed to cross paths at the off campus grocery store! u happen to be picking up comfort snacks after crying ur eyes out due to stress :( he strolled down the same aisle as u, quickly recognizing the university hoodie u had on, staring longingly at what oreo flavor to choose with fresh tears in ur eyes.
“i like the java chip ones :)” after he saw ur tears, he bought them for u.
ur dates consist of: trudging along campus to classes together, movie nights with snacks in the oh so comfy twin sized dorm bed, and grocery store runs! he also loves to do sheet masks together! (just don’t tell anyone how soft he is for u)
studies come second to him. u come first <3
-✰changbin
a jock but not in the aggressive type way. he just wants to lift and pass his classes. (which he always does! nothing below a B- for binnie)
he is good with in-class work! whipping out assignments while the teacher is talking about the subject is light work for him. but homework… alone in his dorm…. his kryptonite. for some reason focusing is so hard in that situation!
when u first heard him speak in economics class, u didn’t expect him to be so sweet?? u sat a couple rows back, so good thing he couldn’t see ur constant staring. his smile, his biceps, his too-tight shirts, his everything.
group projects are ur guys’ weakness because you somehow always get put together. (not that u mind!) in ur third group project this semester, he bit the bullet and asked u out! he was so nervous that he made a whole google slide saying “will u go out with me?” he asked han to decorate it lol.
studying together is no easy task. ur talking about currency then suddenly in a sweet make out sesh! he said he couldn’t handle the “sweet” looks u were giving him.
really soft boyfie !
-✰hyunjin
my art student. what else would he major in?
you guys actually met in starbucks on campus! hyunjin tries to do essays in a cafe setting to “stay focused” (he really just wants to be aesthetic).
you work as a barista, and after taking his order, he couldn’t take his eyes off of u for the 2 hours he was there. he ended up sketching u instead of write his essay! shockingly, he was able to muster up the courage to at least ask ur major before he left (aka, rushed out and ran into the door).
you guys are the sickly sweet couple everyone sees on campus. u are always together!!! hyunjin wants nothing to separate ur hand from his >:(
of course, when he has freedom to choose for his big projects in his art classes, he always chooses something that reminds him of you. he doesn’t like painting portraits that much, so he will choose to paint ur favorite flowers, your first date scene, your hand holding his… yeah, he’s that type of boyfriend :’)
he despises his required classes, like english and math. he doesn’t understand it like he understands art, so he needs ur support!! please run ur fingers thru his hair when he’s whining about his weekly reading!
he loves ur relationship more than anything <3 he’s so happy he can spend his college years with u
-✰han
oh boy. how do we even start this.
i think he tries his best. he really does! he doesn’t want to be one of the few in his class failing, but he just doesn’t really grip onto learning the required subjects like english.
this is how u two met! u work for the university as a tutor, and han was required tutoring for english or else he would get dropped from the class :( he showed up to the tutoring session in an empty lobby in the main campus building, and as soon as he laid eyes on u, he cursed himself. he was supposed to be learning, how can he do that when he has the prettiest person in front of him!! :’(
even outside of ur sessions u help him all the time! he appreciates ur help so much, and of course he doesn’t want his partner to have to help him with his work 24/7, but u don’t mind at all.
his schedule is chaotic. wake up, go to class, go by the convenience store to get both of u snacks, come back to UR dorm, nap in UR bed, wake up when u get back from classes, walk around campus together, get dinner in the dining hall, then fall asleep at HIS dorm.
he always praises himself for choosing to live in a quad with his own room and praises u for working for the university so u get ur own dorm. “it’s like we knew we were going to date!”
he always shows his love and appreciation. power college couple <3
-✰felix
felix has the time of his life in college. he loves being independent, doing something new, and just taking it all in.
that’s why he decided to be ambitious his freshman year; getting a job right away at the campus cafe, and also continuing his hobby of dance by taking a freestyle dance elective!
u were also taking the elective class to try and get more in to ur passion for dance. u never felt too confident in ur skills, so what better way to improve than in a class with others that were learning too!
when felix walked in the room the first day of class, looking all professional in his beanie, oversized sweatpants and a plain t-shirt, u were immediately attracted… but also intimidated!! he must be so good (>:d) u guys actually got put as partners for ice breakers, then a partner project, then a mid-term project, realizing how genuine and sweet he is!!
let’s just say,, things got a lil close for ur projects. flirting was a given around him and kissing, definitely happened.
and even though his excitement for college was a 100! his grades… struggled to reflect that :( like others, college is hard to grasp sometimes!! u continued to help him and remind him that everyone is having a hard time too <3
another sickly sweet couple. he just can’t pry himself away from u!
-✰seungmin
i kinda feel like seungmin is like,, the perfect fit for uni boyfriend? he just gives off those vibes to me so much. (yes i am seungmin biased haha)
does he have all 100% in his classes? yes! does he procrastinate? hell yes…..that’s all he does. to try and help his problem, he wants to study with u! he thinks that this will help him focus more bc silence is always comfortable between u two. but it just ends up him playing some game and u watching, messing him up every time he’s close to passing the level.
if you guys have an in-person class together, he wants needs to sit by u. he doesn’t find it right that u don’t want to sit next to ur own boyfriend. how dare u actually want to listen to ur professor instead of engage in snarky side conversation the whole time >:(
he loves walking around campus late at night. not like, 2am but more like 10pm lol (cuz besides staying up for hw, i feel seungmin is an avid sleeper). after ur night class, he will meet u by ur dorm building and walk around, hands linked the whole time. this is the time where he’s affectionate and loves to talk about ur relationship aww!! it’s conversation like “i remember the first time i held ur hand”, and “we should have another takeout homework date in the library soon”.
i could literally go on and on about uni!seungmin bc it’s a perfect match ahh.
-✰i.n
high school classmates to college classmates! it might have been handy to know someone going into college…. if u and jeongin even knew who each other were.
“yang jeongin? he was in my homeroom? uhh-“
i.n thought that he didn’t need help going thru his first year. he wanted to be independent and make friends on his own >:( butttt with each passing day, adjusting to new classes and even his roommate moving out, he couldn’t even manage to talk to someone new for more than a minute.
u finally recognized him when u saw his academy hoodie he was wearing one day! u rushed to reach him before he entered the classroom, and when u two made eye contact… god jeongin thought the world stopped.
from then, u guys slowly started seeing each other more, than exchanging numbers, then hanging out! ur hangouts usually consisted of studying, but it always ended up in doing to the dining hall and eating together, staying in their right until it closed.
let’s just say, u both struggled in the homework department. but quizzes?? yang jeongin is, surprisingly, an academic weapon.
he loves quality time with u. staying up late, just being in each other arms and talking about nothing.
he will also most definitely require u to watch old minecraft videos with him. quality time right! :)
masterlist!

Reawakened; Into the Abyss – Domestic prelude
From my CW final assignment. Every other character belongs to me. This story is 5 pages long in it’s entirety. I feel the need to specify that the 4 characters at the end are Sanrio OC’s and the first 3 are Elemental Alicorns.
🌫️💭🕸️📻🪦🍽️🌑🕳️❔👁️‍🗨️🕒
Thalassorion laid in a paradise–like island, watching the waves caress the beach. Verdanox and Luxvian suddenly ran over, looking up at their mentor. Thalassorion looked down, “What is it?” “Someone’s at the pizzeria. Appreciate they’re trying to open the pizzeria again.” Verdanox said, “We can’t let them get back in, right?” Luxvian added, standing behind Verdanox. Thalassorion sighed and stood up, walking off with the two running after him like they always did when he had to do something they considered interesting enough to witness for themselves.
Lottie helped Yukio, Taffy, and Winnie off the table in the storage room. Outside the room, near the door, sat Fredbear and Spring Bonnie or Tex, who were busy with a Lego set. “Lego’s really improved.” Fredbear noted, looking at the instructions and trying to find the correct set of pieces being pictured. “We’ve been hidden away for the past 37 years, I think about of things other than Lego have changed.” Tex replied. “My point still stands. These pieces are much more..complicated and intricate. They really improved these models and builds. It’s good but also a bad thing. I mean, this set looks like it’s defying gravity!” “Maybe because these are made for kids and kids din’t exactly know about weight distribution? But I think even kids would be able to realize that these parts aren’t properly supported.” Tex sighed as he waited for his friend to finish.
Nearby, standing outside their large music boxes in a corner, floated Jinx and Marionette. “It’s a bit difficult using pronouns other than the basic trio.” Jinx said. Marionette nodded, “What pronouns do you use?” “Oh, I use he/xi/spir/lumi/pup/jin/clow. What about you?” “He/it/ae/xe/ver/spool/string. I don’t know anybody other than you who uses neopronouns.” “Well, Yukio, Taffy, and Winnie use neopronouns.” Jinx replied as the two now sat in their boxes.
“Oh, really? What neopronouns?” Marionette asked. “From what I remember, Yukio uses he/it/fae/spra/fro/glace/antler/chill/fluff/snow/frost/burr. Taffy uses he/coco/rain/choco/puddle/drip/mochi/raindrop/candy/quack/syrup/melt. Winnie uses she/boo/bubbly/ghost/soapy/lather/phantom/whisp/squeak/froth/fizz/mist/scrub.” Jinx responded. “Do you have this memorized or something?” The other puppet asked.
Jinx disappeared into his box and after some comical sounds came out of the box, he reappeared. He held a Sanrio themed notebook and opened it, flipping through a few pages before showing Marionette a page. “Fredbear uses he/teddy/snugg/cuddly/fuzzy/stuffie/hug/pillow/bearie/fur/paw and Tex uses he/ver/spring/bun/tink, if that’s important to you.” “And Freddy and Bonnie?” “Cutest couple in the company–Anyways, Gabriel uses he/it/xe/fae/bea/sparkle/paw/fluff/bun/pup/hug/ze/ae/confetti/sticker/silly/fun/laugh and Jeremy uses he/ey/vey/byte/data/it/input/output/ram/static/type/java/python/01/exe/bass/chord. And can I also tell you Plushtrap and Carl’s pronouns?” “I know I can’t stop you so..”
“Thanks. Plushtrap uses he/trap/puff/chomp and Carl uses he/cake/sweet/sugar/cherry/flesh/rot/candle.” Jinx responded. “I’ve still got a lot more people to write down. I intend to go for Mangle and Endo next. Also, uh, what were your pronouns again?” He added as he clicked his Sanrio pen. “He/it/ae/xe/ver/spool/string. Also they/them but, like, plural. I just like being referred to as more than one, I dunno.” “Probably Lefty.” “Yeah, I’ll have to get that checked.” Marionette sighed as he pulled out his phone. “I’m scheduling an appointment.”
Plushtrap and Carl sat in a small room, drawing. Plushtrap lifted his drawing. “Look, this is you. You fucking suck, loser.” Carl looked up, showing his own drawing. “Yeah, I drew you too. You’re a dumbass. How accurate.” “The fuck does ‘accurate’ mean?” “Oh my god, you’re actually stupid.” Carl sighed.
Carl looked down and pointed at the sketchpad the other small animatronic had done. “What’s in there?” “Uh, nothing.” Carl raised a brow and suddenly snatched it, running off. Plushtrap yelled and sprinted after him, running past a room where Freddy and Bonnie were inside. Freddy was busy doing a Lego set on a nearby table, struggling to understand how to properly put together a particularly intricate Lego building. “Is is that hard?” Bonnie asked. “Yes. Very.” Freddy sighed in defeat as his close friend walked over “Maybe because you’re not on the right page?” The purple bunny robot muttered as he flipped pages back to the proper page. “Oh!” Freddy said, looking closely at the instructions. “Okay, yeah. Your eyesight got better as an animatronic and mine’s got worse–That’s actually probably karma for me making fun of you being blind, huh? Guess I better start praying to some God above for forgiveness. You think God will forgive it makr me more blind?” “Your eyesight can’t get any worse and the same goes for your memory. You always lose things.” “Like what?” “Your hat.” “It just–” “It is LITERALLY on your head.” “Okay, yeah, well..” Freddy sighed and looked back down to the Lego set.
“Shut up, I’m helping you build your Lego city since Fritz is too busy buying more sets and you know he only helps with it involves vehicles.” Freddy said as he finished making one of the supermarket’s walls. “My god, that’s complicated.” He muttered. “Why are you putting the wall on? Wait until you’ve done the inside then put the walls on, that’s common sense. You’re just making it more difficult.” Bonnie sighed.
“You know I’m not smart.” Freddy responded. “Don’t be surprised when I’m dumb or overcomplicate things. That’s, like, my special talent.” “You’re special talent is entertainment, being an idiot is your second.” The animatronic bunny corrected. “Yeah. Was almost my first, unfortunately.”
Out of the room and a few hallways down, Yukio, Taffy, and Winnie were in another room, looking around the dim space. They looked at a screen and walked up to it winnie floated off and looked at a model that was standing, resembling The Singularity from Dead By Daylight; an organic yet inorganic being. She floated around it, her hands in front of her chest but covered by the white sleeves of her oversized dress. She inspected it curiously while Yukio and Taffy stood at the computer. Taffy inspected the screen curiously while Yukio tapped buttons and accidentally turned it on. As the computer turned on, Taffy found a book and dusted it off before opening it. A paper fell out and he grabbed it before coming out from behind the computer.
He walked to Yukio’s side, reading the paper. “What’s that?” Yukio asked curiously, standing on his tippy–toes to try and see what was in the book or on the paper. “‘Questions to ask Vega’ but the e is a 3 and the a is a 4. That’s weird.” Taffy replied.
The computer finished setting up showing a digital version of the model that Winnie was still busy inspecting in the back corner of the room. Winnie looked over. Taffy looked at the paper, “I guess this is Vega. We’re supposed to ask him these questions.” Taffy handed the paper to Yukio who anxiously took it.
“Um, what’s your name?”
“My n4m3 15 V3g4.”
“Okay, what’s your..gender and pronouns?” Yukio said.
“M4ch1n3g3nd3r, v01dg3nd3r, c1rcu1tg3nd3r, 5t4rc0r3g3nd3r, 43th3rg3nd3r, 4nd h3/1t/x3/v3/43/3y.”
“Okay..” Yukio drew out the word. “Uh, any other labels?”
“Cyb0rg, 5ynth, t3chn01d, m3ch4n01d, fl35hb0t, 41–b31ng, 3nt1ty, 4nd 4ut15t1c, 4DHD, 53n50ry pr0c3551ng d150rd3r, 5ch1z04ff3ct1v3, 4nd hyp3rthym3514 th4t c4n b3 tr1gg3r3d by 5yn35th3514.”
“I don’t know what any of that means.” Yukio frowned up at the screen.
“[OBSTACLE DETECTED], [SEARCHING FOR SOURCE OF OBSTACLE..]”
Yukio stared up at the computer silently as Taffy stood beside him. Winnie floated over to the two boys, also watching the screen as it loaded. A multitude of screens appearing before it picked a clip of Yukio standing before it and saying he didn’t understand what was shown before him and analyzing the clip.
“[OBSTACLE FOUND], [OBSTACLE; FAWN BOY DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAY IS BEING TOLD]. [SEARCHING FOR SOLUTION..]”
“[SOLUTION FOUND; TRANSLATION FROM LEETSPEAK TO BASIC ENGLISH], [LOADING; LEETSPEAK TO BASIC ENGLISH TRANSLATION..]”
“My name is Vega. Machinegender, voidgender, circuitgender, starcoregender, aethergender, he/it/xe/ve/ae/ey. Cyborg, synth, technoid, mechanoid, fleshbot, AI–being, entity, and autistic, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, schizoaffective, and hyperthymesia that can be triggered by synesthesia.”
Yukio looked down, “I can’t write this down, I don’t know how to spell like that.” He said sadly before looking to Taffy and Winnie for comfortm
“[OBSTACLE DETECTED; FAWN BOY CANNOT WRITE PROPERLY DUE TO LACK OF HIGHER EDUCATION]. [SOLUTION; PRINT RESPONSES].”
Suddenly, the machine started making churning noises and soon, a paper came out with the questions and Vega’s answers below. Winnie floated over to Yukio, looking, at the original paper that was aged and ripped at the edges from its age. She took the paper and flipped it over. “Oh, there’s another question.” She said, making Yukio and Taffy look over curiously. “‘Design a Whimsy Wonderland animatronic’. What’s ‘Whimsy Wonderland’?” She asked, tilting her head. The computer immediately took the orders.
“Name; Niji Sparkle.
Gender and pronouns; cynosgender, glittergender, sodagender, sparklegender, fizzyfluid, Backroomic, neonradientgender, neongenderflux, shinjugender, sodaglowgender, and he/spark/fizz/neon/kiro/bubble.
Alterhuman labels; bubblekin, sodaheart, glitchkin, and keroid.
Neurodivergent labels; cerebriot, dreamshifted, sparkletouched, echoedmind, popkinesis.”
The computer progressively made an image of a Pitbull puppy before throwing the model out. The model, Niji Sparkle, stood up. He waved happily at the shocked trio. “Hi, I’m Niji Sparkle! I’m a Pitbull.” Niji said. A hand suddenly came out of the machine, took the response paper it’d made, and put the model of Niji Sparkle and his information on the back before putting it back in Yukio’s hands then disappearing inside the machine again.
“What do we do with him?” Taffy asked. Yukio shrugged, “Um, bring him to Lottie?” Yukio replied. The boys walked off to go to Lottie as Winnie grabbed Niji and carried him out of the room, following the two.

Um, yeah, that’s the end of the story. Total word count (story); 1,704.

Potions in Minecraft, and making them better
I think the potion system in Minecraft is… really, really, mediocre. It’s really not that good, and it just barely serves its function. I think we can do better. This post will be covering my opinions on how to change the potion system in Minecraft. Oh, there's a TL;DR at the bottom if you're boring.
So! What changes should be made to the potion system? First, let’s go over some hard changes that are pretty simple to understand.
Potions can be put into cauldrons. I really don’t understand why this isn’t a thing yet, it exists in Bedrock edition, it should exist in Java. And I don’t think it’s necessary to lock crafting tipped arrows behind beating the Ender Dragon.
Potions can be drunk faster. Not sure how much faster, maybe half the time, maybe 3/4. It’s something that would need to be tested, but as it is now, it takes way too long to drink a potion. It takes the same amount of time to drink a potion that it does to eat a steak. Heck, you can eat a cake faster than drinking a potion I’m pretty sure.
Potions stack up to 8. Big problem with potions is that they don’t stack, so you’re stuck with needing too many inventory slots for potions. With how much stuff is in Minecraft these days, and how inventory management is already a problem, we don’t need potions to make it worse.
Potion brew time is 3/4 of the time it was. This is more a quality of life thing, but brewing a lot of potions takes a long time, unless you have an automatic brewer and/or a whole bunch of brewing stands. I feel like reducing the time to 3/4 of the time it was is fairly inconsequential, and just a nice change. Not necessary, though.
Alright, with those out of the way, I want to cover some of the more vague changes. First, fermented spider eyes always make the opposite potion effect, no matter what. I think it’s kind of dumb how they don’t have it like this already, how it’s halfway there but not quite. So, here’s a new list for potion effects, and how fermented spider eyes affect them:
Swiftness <--> Slowness
Jump Boost <--> Weighted
Slow Falling <--> Levitation
Strength <-> Weakness
Regeneration <--> Poison
Healing <--> Harming
Night Vision <--> Blindness
Water Breathing <--> Fire Resistance
Invisibility <--> Glowing
Haste <--> Mining Fatigue
Turtle Master <--> Bat Master
Absorption <--> Wither
Now, there’s some new effects here that don’t have potions yet, and one potion that doesn’t exist yet. What’s up with that? Well, I think there should be more effects, and that all of these effects should be obtainable.
Most of these effects already have potions and potion ingredients assigned to them, so I won’t change those base ingredients. The only one I’ll change is the potion of weakness, which will be changed to a gilded beetroot. It’s made like the gilded melon - gold nuggets surrounding a beetroot. This is mostly to give the beetroot a use, but also because gold is weak, so it works with the weakness potion. The rest of the new potions, however, need their own ingredients, so let’s do that. All of them stem from the Awkward potion by the way; the Thick and Mundane potions will only be around to symbolize that you've messed up.
Weighted: Obsidian
Levitation: Chorus Fruit
Blindness: Ink Sac
Glowing: Glow Berries
Haste: Gold Block
Mining Fatigue: Nautilus Shell
Bat Master: Bat Wing
Absorption: Golden Apple
Wither: Wither Rose
These ingredients were chosen mostly deliberately. Some are obvious, glow berries for glowing, golden apple for absorption, wither rose for wither. Some are less obvious, like obsidian for weighted (I assume obsidian is heavy), ink sacs for blindness (squids blind you with ink clouds), and gold blocks for haste (gold tools are fast, it’s a gold block rather than a gold ingot so it's harder to get). The rest make less sense.
Chorus fruits are for levitation mostly because there isn’t much better that I could think of. Other than shulker shells, which I feel would be a bit too difficult to get for the effect they provide. Alternatively, it could be a new drop from shulkers, but I'm hesitant to add a new drop to a mob that already has one. They both come from the end, so it makes at least a little sense. Nautilus shells for mining fatigue is similar to the levitation potion - there isn’t much better. You could argue that a sponge would be a good idea, but I’d rather not use blocks where I can. Also, sponges aren't renewable. As for the bat wing, this would be a new item that's a rare drop from a bat.
There are also two new effects in this list: weighted, and bat master. Weighted is fairly simple. You fall faster, and can’t jump as high. Bat master is a bit different, because it’s actually two effects in one potion. The first effect is swiftness, and the second effect is vulnerability, an opposite to resistance. The idea is that while turtles are slow and strong, bats are fast and weak. The levels of these effects would be the same, as well as the durations. Vulnerability would be a polar opposite to resistance, where you take more damage rather than less. Neither resistance nor vulnerability get their own potions; their effects come with the upside/downside (optional idea: make an opposite to the enchanted golden apple that gives negative effects?).
With this all done, we have a framework for a new potion system. All potions in this system are compatible with redstone, which will double their effect duration. For potions with different levels of effect, glowstone dust can be used to half the duration but double the effect. Gunpowder can be used to make them splash potions, and dragon’s breath can be use to make them lingering potions. One change I’d like to make to lingering potions is to make their duration equal to half duration of the normal potion. I don’t see why it needs to be 1/4 the duration, since that seems like such a short amount of time for using an item that requires beating the Ender Dragon to get. Lingering potions aren't used a whole bunch anyways, so I don't anticipate that this'll impact much other than slighly balance them. But I could easily be wrong.
However, I’m not quite done with this system yet. Since 1.21 was released, they added trial chambers, and with them, the Breeze. Similar to the Blaze in design, they drop breeze rods as well. Currently, the only use for breeze rods is to craft the mace and brew potions of wind charging. But I think with their similarities to blaze rods, we can make a new brewing stand - a brewing stand that uses breeze rods and breeze powder. Same crafting recipe as the brewing stand, just with a breeze rod (or, if you want to get fancy, make it cobbled deepslate rather than cobblestone).
I don’t have a name for this new block yet, so I’ll call it the breezing stand for now. It’s possible that you wouldn’t need a new name, though, and it could just be the brewing stand but blue instead. Either way, it’ll be the breezing stand for now in the interest of clarity. The purpose of the breezing stand is to make potions that have effects on death. It takes in breeze powder rather than blaze powder, and it makes potions that are different from the normal brewing stand. Instead of using nether wart as a base, it uses red mushrooms as a base. (There’s some amount of symbolism in this breezing stand. Brewing stands use blaze rods, which are hot, to provide effects that last while something is alive, or has a level of heat. Breezing stands use breeze rods, which are cold, to provide effects that happen when something dies, or loses its heat. Also symbolism in the nether wart and mushroom. Nether wart grows on the souls, or “living”, while mushrooms grow on the dead).
The four new potions added in the 1.21 update would be made with the breezing stand, but a few new potions would be added as well (however, the potion of wind charging, which currently uses a breeze rod, would use breeze powder instead, because reasons). Here’s the ones I could think of, and their effects. All of the effects trigger upon death of the mob with the effect:
Potion of Flaming: Magma Cream, spreads fire to nearby blocks
Potion of Warping: Ender Pearl, teleports nearby mobs and players to random locations within a 30 block radius
Potion of Growth: Bonemeal, grows all crops and plants to their full height in the surrounding area
Potion of Restraint: Lead, keeps all mobs and players stuck in their position for a bit (~3 or 4 seconds?)
Potion of Piercing: Pointed Dripstone, damages all mobs in the surrounding area (could also be a cactus maybe)
Potion of Activating: Redstone Torch, activates all redstone in the surrounding area
These aren’t all of the possible ideas, but these are the ones I came up with. Like with the new potions, these wouldn’t have level 2 forms, they would just have extended forms. Gunpowder and dragon’s breath works the same. Additional side note: there could be a new advancement for having every death effect trigger from one mob, called something like "It's not over yet!".
That’s all the changes I would make to the potion system, as far as I know right now. I’m certain there’s more changes that could be made, but these are ones I can think of that I’d like to see. As with all my other long Minecraft posts, please let me know if there’s anything you think I should change, or any ideas that you have. Also, let me know if I’m wrong. I like criticism.
TL;DR: Make potions generally better for QoL stuff, make most status effects obtainable via potions, make fermented spider eyes reverse all potion effects and add new stuff to make reversed effects for potions that don’t have them yet, and use the breeze rods to make more death effect potions such as the 4 new ones added in the 1.21 update.

☆ 16.10.2023 ☆
Tumblr media
Another school week has begun, and it's been quite a hectic Monday, to be honest. By the time I got back home, I was extremely exhausted. But let's recap the day,
Morning classes:
In the Linux lecture, we delved into the fascinating topic of file management. I found it really interesting, but I still need to review and take notes since I have a lab on it tomorrow.
Next up was the Java EE lecture, and I must say, the professor's way of explaining things was both boring and complicated. Don't get me wrong, I love Java EE as a platform, but the lectures given by this professor just don't do it for me.
Evening classes:
I had another Java EE lecture, followed by a lab. The lab was pretty straightforward; we mainly configured Eclipse and Apache Tomcat, so it wasn't too challenging.
By the time I finally made it back home, I was completely drained.
Here are the goals I managed to achieve today:
I took care of my skin, even though I removed the post about it due to some concerns. I drank lots of water, had my green juice, and followed my morning and night skincare routine. I resisted the urge to touch my skin or pop any pimples. However, I did forget to reapply sunscreen, which is not good.
I also managed to post on here, so that's done.
As for studying, I haven't done it yet, but I plan to eat and then dive right into it since I have an assignment due anyway.
A few things bothered me today:
I caught myself engaging in negative self-talk, but I tried my best to stop it as much as possible.
The area around my eyes has been extremely dry lately, and I'm not sure why. I made sure to moisturize it as much as I could during my skincare routine.
On a positive note, I am grateful for my friends. Having people around me who truly accept me for who I am and make me genuinely happy is something I don't take for granted.
I apologize for the length of this recap, but I hope everyone had a fantastic day. Here's to an even better tomorrow! Cheers <3

For the next few weeks, I got Luna acquainted with the few necessities to get around outside. I got her a new phone number, got her registered in korean classes and some days I would let her follow the map on her phone whenever we were out. We even visited Just Java and had their coffee. It was the yummiest coffee I've ever had. We enjoyed every bit of the time we had with each other. Luckily, we started our work next month also so it was great to know that she won't be home alone.
"Hey, Luna, do you want to try tteokbokki?" I ask as I scroll through the menu on my phone. "I'll tell them to make it very mild."
"Sure!"
I find a restaurant with good reviews and order on the food app. "Okay, our order will be here soon. I even ordered fried chicken."
As we wait for the food to arrive, I turn on the tv to pass time. "Hey, what if you get to work for Stray Kids?"
"Doubtful," I say flipping through channels.
"Hey now. Don't underestimate your skills."
"I'm not. I just don't want my first day to work THE group. What if I say something really embarrassing?"
"Then you'll have something to tell your grandkids." I hit her arm as she laughs. "Relax. You'll do fine, trust me."
Our food finally arrives and we eat as we watch tv. I even teach her some words in Korean when she asks me. We finish eating our dinner and soon we start getting ready for bed. After doing my skin care, I settle myself in my bed and turn off the light. Let's hope Luna is right about me doing well at my job next month. I promise myself that whoever I will end up with, I will give it my best.
------------------------------------------------------------
Next month rolls around pretty fast and I get more and more nervous which I shouldn't be feeling. A few days ago, I went out and registered for a Korean name: Kim Na Eun. Only Luna and I know about this though.
Luna finally started working at the coffee shop today and I'm standing in front of my mirror as I examine my outfit. I'm wearing a beige button shirt with a long black jean skirt and white sneakers. Giving myself pep talk before I head out. "You got this, Becca."
It takes me half hour to reach JYPE and soon I'm in the HR department filling out some forms. I get introduced to my team members and soon I'm following one of the staff members, Yujin, down towards the makeup rooms. She told me I'll also be meeting the group that I will be assigned to. She introduced me to other makeup artists and I was surprised that everyone was so friendly which made me feel at ease somewhat.
She leads me to another room full of makeup vanities. There were a total of 12 chairs and even had a couch at one end. "They should be arriving shortly." I smile at her as I wait with her. I admire all the vanities that had makeup products laid out along with hair tools. The door opens and I hear the commotion of a couple of guys laughing and talking but I don't turn around as I'm still looking at all the makeup stations. "Becca-ssi!"
"Ne," I turn around and I suddenly wished I was still home.
"These are the guys I was talking about. You're assigned to them."
Back home, whatever I did, whether it was school work or job wise, it wasn't ever good enough for my father. I wanted to learn dancing when I was 15 but took my money pot away that I had been saving since I was 10. I wanted to learn ballet, dad called the ballet dance school and had them deny my admission. Whatever it was, it wasn't worth my while because he wanted me to become a surgeon like him. So he had me studying 24/7 till I collapsed and was on bed rest for 3 months. Even then, he gave me stuff to do related to medicine. Since then, I always did what he wanted me to do. Till last year, I did whatever made him happy. But when I finally stood up, he crushed my dreams.
I was very glad because I got all certifications, even international ones, for this moment all thanks to Luna. Of course, she was on my side the entire time. If it wasn't for her, I don't know how I could've dealt with all the stress. She pushed me and told me give it all my best. And thats's exactly what I did. Living in a new country was surreal. Everything was new to me. The food, the environment, the smell in the air.
But now as I stand in front of 8 handsome men staring back at me, I don't think my life could get any better. All of them introduced themselves to me and I was in awe of their beauty. Each member had their own aura. I glance around and noticed that only 4 out of 9 had different hair colors. I made a mental note to tell Luna later when one of them walked towards me. He had blonde with blue streaks styled hair, eyes that shined like stars and a jawline that was swoon worthy. I couldn't help but stare at him as he stood in front of me. Bang Chan stood in front of me. I know somewhere Luna is kicking her feet in the air.
"You're not from here, are you?" Bang Chan asked.
My god. I had seen him a few months ago. I don't know if I can handle this. I mean out of all the boys, he was the one I was most fascinated with. I watched them from their pre-debut days till now. And he's right here. Standing. Looking all glorious. In front of me. And who knew I would be seeing him again.
"No, I'm from Australia," I replied, containing my posture.
"Oh, really?" The way his eyes lit up, I wanted take a picture of it. "Which part?"
"Melbourne." I replied. I don't think he remembers me?
"Ah, the city of night life and architecture," he said, smiling. I think my mental state is not okay at the moment. Seeing his smile was one of my favourite part of him. It always made my day. But to see it in person....
"Yes, but I never got to enjoy it. I like Seoul more," I said.
"So you'll be our new makeup artist?" He asked. When I'm about say something, the voices come.
"What's your name?"
"Does she like ice cream?"
"Ask her age!"
All these questions came like a firing round in a game. I burst out laughing but immediately stop when they look at me. "Sorry."
I looked at all of them and replied in korean, "My name is Rebecca Greywood. I'm 20, korean age 21. And I like chocolate flavor."
It got quiet and I blinked at them looking back at me. "Uh, did I say something wrong?" Even the staff was looking at me. "Uhhh, hello?"
Felix the one with blonde hair, Jeongin with red/pink hair  and Seungmin the one with dark brown hair, skipped towards Bang Chan and smiled. "Noona!"
Noona? Oh my god. I need to call Luna like asap.
"Yah," Bang Chan said to his kids who immediately went quiet. "Don't scare her. Sorry about them, teenagers and all."
"It's fine," I say, waving them off. Internally, my brain is doing math of Bang Chan's and my age. Oh my god. If I'm 20, and if I'm doing the math right, he's older than me by 2 years. "Nice to meet you all."
All the other members bow and smile at me. And Bang Chan extends his hand towards me. "Welcome to the team."
I look at him and his hand. I raise my hand and shake his hand. "Thank you."
As he's walking back to the members, Yujin comes to me. "Oh I forgot to tell you. You'll be one of the main makeup artist for Bang Chan, Felix, and Han."
Wait, did she say Bang Chan? "Gamsahamnida," I say and look around the room. The eight of them were chatting and fooling around whereas I have only seen them like that on my laptop. I try to compose myeelf but the fangirl inside me wants to scream. I fish out my phone and take a quick selfie with the room behind me and quickly send it Luna. I put my phone on silent. I will have to talk to her when I'm off work.
One of the staff members claps her hand. "Alright, we have a new member joining is officially today!" She gestures towards me as everyone in the room, including the boys clap welcoming me. I bow and smile.
"Thank you for having me." I clench my hands trying to get the nerves out.
"Alright, we have a show in a few hours. Felix and Han will be covered today, Rebecca-ssi. So you can get started on Chan."
I don't think I heard her right. Did she just I have to work on him? The man that made the fandom go crazy over his abs? I look at where he's sitting playing games on his phone. Jeez, even sitting down like that he's attractive. Damn, I don't think I'm going to be able to survive this job.
Putting my feelings aside, I walk over to where he's sitting. "Please make yourself comfortable. I'll start by prepping your skin." I turn towards the makeup items laid put for me to use. Wow. They really went out. I quickly study the table and spot the skincare stuff. Picking up on of the moisturizer, I study and frown at the ingredients. "Why are they using this stuff? This will just make your skin dry and break out after," I mutter under my breath. But not my place to say anything so I sanitize my hands before I turn around and start prepping his skin. I use gentle hands and when my fingers touch his cheeks, I nearly swoon over how smooth it is. Holy, I would kill to have this smooth and silky skin. I start the makeup with foundation application followed by concealer to hide any blemishes and blend everything together.
Once I know the foundation looks great, I put face powder followed by eyebrow shaping and eye makeup. I strictly kept it professional but couldn't help to admire his beauty. When his eyes were closed, I noticed his eyelashes. They weren't long but weren't short either. The last thing that was left were his lips. I gulped when he tilted his head up so I could apply the lip products easily. Gently, I swipe the product over his plump lips. I don't outline his lips that much. "Where do I know you from?"
I freeze and look at him to him looking at me. "Sorry?"
"Have we met before?" He asks.
Yes. It's what I want to say. But I shake my head. "No."
"Oh." He says, still looking at me.
"Okay, you're all done." I say as I put the brush in my hand down beside all the brushes.
"That was fast," he says as he gets up to inspect my work. I watch as he checks his face thoroughly and his eyes go wide at particular spot. It was where he had a blemish or a simply an aftermath of a popped pimple. "You covered it? I can't even tell that it was there. Wow."
I beam at him. "I'm glad you like it."
"Thank you." He simply smiles warmly at me and I drop a brush, not because I wanted to but because I was transfixed on his smile. I only wish I could've taken a picture. He bends down, picks up the brush and hands it to me.
"Thank you."
"Anytime." Then he leaves to go to the other members.
I think I need a break.
------------------------------------------------------------
I'm currently sitting in the break room having my lunch. A few people were sitting and eating their lunch too. I have my phone in my hand watching a dance practice of one of Stray Kids songs and I almost want to dance to it.....if there weren't people around. I receive a text from Luna.
L: uh, what is that picture of?
R: me with people I'm working for and with.
L: and WHY exactly why do I see the faces of Bang Chan, Han and Seungmin? Felix?
I stifle a laugh and try not to choke on my food.
R: that's because I'm their MUA.
L: ....
R: girl, I'll see you when I get home because my lunch just ended.
L: get back here!
I grin as I pack up the leftovers and head out of the break room. But before heading back to work, I hopped in the bathroom to quickly brush my teeth and touch up on my makeup. Once I was done, I head back up to the makeup rooms and see that it's empty. Or what I thought was empty. As I walk inside towards my makeup station, I see 3RACHA snacking on chips and snacks as they joke around with each other. I bow to them as I clean up anything that needed to be cleaned.
"Becca-ssi." I turn around and see Han walking to me.
"Ne?"
"Hokshi noona namjachingu isseyeo?" (Do you have a girlfriend?)
I blink at him before bursting out in laughter. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to laugh," I say, chuckling.
He laughs. "Sorry, I didn't wanna ask but," he turns around and looks at at Changbin, who suddenly has an interest at imaginary dust on his clothes. "Someone dared me."
"It's okay. And no, I don't have a boyfriend," I say with a smile.
Then I see their leader walk up to Han and pat him on his back. "Han-ah, stop messing with the newbie."
"Sorry." Han apologizes but I wave him off.
"Sorry about him, he's usually not like that." Bang Chan says as Han goes back to Changbin.
"Ah, no. It's okay. I don't mind," I say smiling. He stares at me for a few seconds and I suddenly question my life choices. "Uhm."
"It's you!" He exclaims, pointing his finger at me.
"Sorry?" I blink at him.
"You're the girl from the other day," he says. Oh, he finally knows. "I knew I've seen you somewhere before."
"I'm sorry," I say as I bow.
"Are you kidding? If it wasn't for you returning my bag, I would've lost big chunk of our hardwork forever," he says smiling. "I should be thanking you."
I beam at him. "It's fine really. I'm just glad it didn't get into the wrong hands."
"Thank you, Becca-ssi."
"Ah, just Becca is fine."
He nods his head. "Becca." The way he said my name sounds so sweet like strawberry dipped in chocolate.
"Ne, Bang Chan-ssi."
"Just call me Chan." He smiles at me before going back to Han and Changbin.
"Chan," I whisper. I smile and go back to my previous task. I think I'm going to like working here.

It's actually super cool that you made a tag for it lol I'm just a little anxious to talk about it on my own blog until I have at least the first chapter of the book out Ig
Yeah, there's one specific thing that I forgot to add about the "birb lore" /lh
When two parents of different sub-species or different species altogether have a chick, they usually come out as the sub-species of one of their parents , 50/50 if you will For example, if a Yellow-billed Magpie and a Black-chinned Yuhina (picked totally at random) copulate and have a nestling, there's 50% chance they will be a yellow-billed magpie, and 50% chance they will be a black-chinned yuhina.
Inter sub-species mating is actually how same sub-species marriages can thrive without having to worry about situations of incest
However, there are also chances that the nestling may come out as an hybrid. Chances of that happening are of only 30% , but even then that's still quite a number, so hybrids aren't as rare as they might seem. What causes hybrid births is that genetics didn't go with the 50/50 mother-or-father chance poll, and instead ended up mixing the DNA of both parents, and because that can happen to literally any couple, hybrids don't have specific classifications, so they're instead classified individually as hybrids of both their parents sub-species. So for the example couple, if they were to have an hybrid nestling, they would be classified as a Yellow-billed Magpie-Black-chinned Yuhina hybrid. Certainly a lot more to write, but one of the big people is one so it's cool-
Anyway, main cast birb species! (I mostly tried to go with their canon appearances as a reference but I'll admit that in some I just picked the one I found more beautiful lmao)
Mark - Brown-headed Cowbird Cesar - Crow Sarah - Brown-headed Cowbird Evelin - Eastern Phoebe Jonah - Eurasian Blackcap Thatcher - Reeves Pheasant Ruth - Lady Amherst Pheasant Dave - Northern flicker ("Thatcher is taller than Dave" supremacy) Jude - Java Sparrow Lynn - █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ Adam - "Java Sparrow" Mark Heathcliff - Missing Kidnapped Ruth Weaver - Missing Kidnapped Cesar Torres - Gravely injured
( Sure would suck if you just happened to look like someone else's dead twin sibling so much that they kidnapped you for it huh )
oooooo hybrid lore is p cool!!!!! and im glad you like the tag :D
also oooooo!!! birbs!!!! :DDDDD i looked all of them up and they all fit so well!! (EVELIN IS ESP SO CUTE MANNN,,,,,, and ruth fits SO WELL!!!!! jonah's bird is just. that's just literally jonah man DFCVGBHN)
also lynn mystery lore???? eyes emoji?????
also THE BOTTOM?????? HEH???? (positive i love all of this)
also also, are the alts part of this au? if so, what are they like? do they have specific species assigned to them?

Okay so this is gonna be a big rant. I didn't check my sources, I'm going to say things that are wrong. You're going to have to live with it.
Around the time of windows 8 Microsoft tried to reinvent itself. It was tired of being the stuffy, skeuomorphic machine you were assigned at work. They wanted to be cool. Part of this vision was a complete redesign of the interface
Tumblr media
And I don't know, call me crazy, I think this visual design fucks. I mean look at this. It's simplistic but gorgeous. The rest of the industry was running away from skeuomorphism towards simplicity via rounded bulbous corners. This was distinct, it was colorful, it had contrast, it was sharp. It literally looked like a bunch of windows in a pane.
At the time, Microsoft was also launching a windows phone (much to late to make a difference. They missed the boat but they didn't know it yet) and were designing a new Xbox that would have architecture near identical to that of a PC. The idea was that they were expanding beyond just stuffy PCs, there were a lot of new product categories and they wanted a universal version of windows that could handle all of them. You could build a "Universal Windows Platform" app that would run on any version of windows on any device. This was achieved using the C# virtual machine that us CS people tentatively affectionately call "Microsoft Java".
The future that Microsoft envisioned would be that there would be a new walled garden of software that you would run on all your pretty new windows devices. They would all share and sync and be perfect and pretty, and the same app on your phone could be played on your xbox, pc, and holy shit AR GOGGLES?
Tumblr media
Yeah these fucking things. Microsoft bet big on the idea we'd like to start doing shit with holograms. They made this cool-ass device that used projectors to shine shit into your eye so you could see holograms and poke them and move them about. These were Windows devices that ran actual full-on windows, but that meant that Windows' identity had to grow to accommodate them. All the UIs had to work in a world where you'd see them on a touch screen OR as a hologram. All of the first party software had to have that in mind.
MS paint? Nah that shit's ancient. We got PAINT 3D and it's the most dogshit thing you've ever used
Tumblr media
All the sloppy jank of MS paint but now you can put horrible fucking 3d models in it. I'm holding back my full Paint 3d thoughts for a later post that's still being worked on in the drafts, but here's a sneak preview.
Paint 3d allows you to dip into a catalogue of 3d models and plop them into your regular MS paint canvas. There's still no layers, no vector support, but hey at least you can add transparent backgrounds. Paint 3d let you export your horrible janky creations both as a regular png/jpg but also as a 3d model.
that's your short answer. They added that 3d models folder because of paint 3d. If you want to leave now you can... but this post keeps going as you can see.
The idea would be that as more of our tech moved to AR and VR you would be acquiring 3d models at a similar rate that you do other file times, so it made sense to have a built in folder. Maybe you work at one of those offices in an microsoft ad where I guess people just email each other .fbx flower pots for some fucking reason? Maybe you're downloading them from the metaverse (we weren't calling it that back then).
Your friend using a hololense would make a 3d model and then send it to you, you'd add some shit to it in paint 3d using its kafkaesque interface, then send it back. Wow. The future is so much fun.
Tumblr media
You could even stick your 3d models in your very own VR start menu. Yeah. To go along with the AR goggles they released some dogshit (well they were good for the time and also cheap compared to the competition) VR goggles. These things ran on the SAME uwp platform as everything else, so theoretically I could make some abomination in paint 3d and then send it to my dad who works at the flower pot factory or some shit and he could put it on his virtual desk in his virtual cliff house start menu where he would virtually alt tab between a hovering window of Microsoft word and some freaky VR porn that his boss couldn't catch him watching because it was all in the headset.
That didn't fucking happen. We don't do that. And it's not just because it was a terrible idea but also because Microsoft wasn't committed to the bit.
See this house of cards came crashing down for a lot of reasons. The first one being that it wasn't backwards compatible. This cool 3d virtual, cross-device future wasn't with the win32 api, but the new UWP api. Devs had to remake their software in a less performant programming language and format just so it would run on all windows devices... but windows for PC still ran the win32 style apps that already worked. So you were expecting devs to port their windows app to... to windows... so it could run on windows... even though it was already running on windows. Oh yeah, let's just rewrite our whole accounting software stack so that bill can use it on his windows phone because phones are definitely for doing accounting and not playing fucking candy crush.
xkcd 927
Tumblr media
UWP added the functionality of "It works on xboxes, vr googles, windows phones, AND computers but just a little bit worse than the other ones and you have to remake it from scratch". It was just one more competing standard, and the use case of cross platform didn't really help that much.
The windows phone died out early on because it was too late and it couldn't cross the app gap (even though it's UI totally fucked and you play a halo twin stick shooter on it). The hololense died because it cost them ONE THOUSAND dollars just to build the screen assembly for one eye, you needed two of those + an onboard computer to run AR + a fuckload of cameras + proffit. No one was ever going to spend that kinda of cash just so they could pinch and zoom semi transparent holograms in a tiny 40 degree feild of vision in for two and a half hours because yeah the battery life was shit too. Developers never made software for it because there would never be any install base because something that superfluous can't ever be that expensive while we're all getting poorer.
Now, the VR headsets on the other hand, they kinda sucked... but they were cheap and they were competent. With a bit of elbow grease you could make them be just as good as the pretty boys, and they were the first to market with inside out tracking which was legitimately freeing back in 2018. Microsoft could have integrated it with the Xbox to compete with PSV but they just didn't for no fucking reason even though they both ran UWP apps and were on the same appstore and used all the same ports and the Xbox was just about powerful enough to play some games in VR. Yeah they just didn't commit to the bit and abandoned their VR headset line because it didn't instantly become a monopoly despite them putting very little effort into it.
So windows phone died, windows VR died, hololense died, and now regular windows 10 is full of the corpses of this cross platform vision. We have the 3d objects folder even though nothing really uses it anymore. Windows 10 never fully upgraded to the metro theme. It's like... half metro but some settings require you go to the old XP control panel. Some windows are in metro style but then when you right click on them there's just a standard win32 dialogue box that's ugly and white. It's been that way since 2015 and rather than finishing windows 10 and making it pretty they stuffed it full of bullshit and ads and then said "FUCK IT, WINDOWS 11"
Tumblr media
And windows 11's whole thing is being ugly and simplistic and rounded corners and wasted space and designed for a touch screen because even though the windows phone died at least the 2 in one windows tablet market was doing okay.
Windows is a collection of good ideas, followed by a bag fumble, followed by an admission of defeat and a retreat to the familiar.
And somewhere along the way we got a new folder for 3d objects, and if you really want you can use paint 3d to make this shit I guess:

Self-Learning and Confidence: The Path to Advancement for Female Talent
AI has been a controversial hot topic in recent years. It has not only permeated every aspect of our lives but also had a profound impact on the way we work and what we do at work. Many people are experiencing anxiety about being replaced, and female software developer Jessica is no exception. However, running away from it is futile; instead, embrace it and use it to improve your efficiency and methods. Over the years, she has continuously embraced new things, constantly changing and being changed. After her transformation, she has become more confident and stronger.
Jessica, a female software developer from Dalian in the northeast of China. After graduating from university, she joined a software company and have been working there for eleven years now.

From Developer to Tester: The Shift in Work Approaches and Adaptation
The year 2019 was truly special for me. Before 2019, I was engaged in JAVA software development. It was in that year, after returning from maternity leave, that my company implemented a remote working mechanism. I remember that at that time, there were few opportunities for JAVA projects, but fortunately, I got a chance to work on an automation testing project. This not only marked the beginning of my testing career but also initiated my mode of juggling childcare with work.
When I first joined the new project, I was responsible for manual testing tasks. The work intensity was not very high, but the workload was quite saturated. One of the clients I interacted with was named Brain, and our main communication channels were email and Slack. Later, as the QA system continued to grow and expand, I was assigned to another project team (located in the UK). My work began to involve the field of automation testing, using Cypress to write test cases and being responsible for maintaining daily testing reports.
At that time, due to my poor English listening skills, I felt quite nervous when communicating with clients and even bought a translation device to ensure smooth communication. However, one is always trained through practice. Gradually, I became capable of conducting business discussions in English with clients, and my work ability greatly improved.
Transitioning from a developer to a tester was actually easier than I thought, but there are significant differences in work approaches. Writing code from a developer's perspective focuses on logic and code refactoring; whereas from a tester's perspective, it is crucial to ensure that the code is simple, clear, efficient, and concise. I remember once writing an automation test script that a client reviewed and loved for its structure, which significantly improved execution time by several times. However, he was concerned that colleagues might need more time to understand my code during future maintenance. This minor episode at work made me realize how important adaptability is in the workplace. Opportunities always favor those who can adapt quickly to new environments, which also helped me recognize the importance of AI in the future.
Self-Learning: Enhancing Your Own Value
During the period of working on automation testing, I felt that technical knowledge was not the most critical factor; more important was communication with clients. For example, at the beginning, I only used Java to write scripts (UI scripts), but the client used Cypress, a relatively lightweight language. I had never learned Cypress before and basically wrote code while looking up information. After writing a few cases, I could master the key syntax quite proficiently. After mastering UI automation, I started learning API automation, mainly using Postman to send requests, write execution scripts, and return data formats. In this part, I needed to communicate a lot with developers because I had to understand the types of returned formats and the parameters being transmitted.
Regarding business aspects, I needed to understand the entire system's business processes, which required a lot of time for summarizing and recording in the early stages. Any uncertainties had to be communicated with developers or other staff promptly. Initially, I recorded every module I worked on in a notebook, accumulating information bit by bit before summarizing it. Gradually, my understanding of the system's processes became clearer. This allowed me to quickly pinpoint issues during script execution and provide accurate solutions.
Another crucial aspect is regular summarization. Every month, I review all the tasks I've completed and list them out. For familiar areas, I can quickly go through them, but if there are new module areas, I conduct exploratory testing in those modules. This is also a method of understanding business.
With the accumulation of technical knowledge and deeper business insights, I can easily complete each task. My abilities have improved, and I have also gained recognition from clients.
Embracing AI to Enhance Work Efficiency
Since 2023, with the evolution of AI technology, during the process of working with clients, they have proposed using AI technologies, among which chatGPT is quite commonly used. In everyday tasks, issues such as code formatting, syntax problems, and element positioning can be resolved very swiftly by chatGPT, greatly enhancing my work efficiency. There's also Rakuten AI, which was still in the testing phase at that time and mainly used for writing and executing test cases using AI. It hasn't been widely adopted in our projects yet. However, from the demonstrations shown by clients, Rakuten AI's execution efficiency is truly impressive. Over ten years, we've evolved from manually writing test cases to now being able to generate many test cases at once with the help of AI, which has increased our efficiency several times over.
Throughout my career, there have been moments when I considered changing industries and times when I felt disappointed with my job. However, more often than not, I've maintained optimism, confidence, and focused on self-improvement every day. Many people have asked me if the emergence of AI makes me feel insecure about my career. I believe that as we work in the software industry, we shouldn't fear being replaced by AI. Instead, we should actively embrace AI, make good use of AI tools to enhance our work efficiency and abilities, and ensure that we remain irreplaceable.

Went to a job fair with A today. It was, uh, useless. She had to go because of an assignment, I went because she asked me to. Nervousness and all that.
It was marketed as an "Engineering" gig. It was not software engineering, as we were led to believe. It was almost exclusively civil engineering. Even if I wanted to work at any of these 40-ish companies crammed into a single ballroom, I would not be anywhere near qualified. Nevertheless, we tried to find anywhere that would need IT specialists at the very least. We found two.
Speaking (mostly listening) to the recruiters made me realize just how abysmally underprepared I was. Their first questions were always "have you checked the job listings on our site?" No. No the fuck I have not. I came here on a whim. One woman we talked to didn't even know what positions were available, citing her own position of HR for her lack of knowledge. IDK why she's here. Maybe she was dragged along too.
I need a job. I need some source of income. I need some experience in the field. It's gonna take quite a lot of willpower to get myself there, though. My lack of planning for my future is constantly kicking me in the ass, making me want to plan even less.
I don't even know how to tell the recruiters "I want to do the grunt work" or "Don't make me manage people" or "I got c++, python, java, c#, f#, etc... put me to work, please." I wish I could just do commission work like an artist would. One piece, one payment, one deadline. One set of specs, one deliverable, zero crashes. Oh well.

I have a google doc that I'm treating as an official document with information about the safari zone available to the public. That is what I mentioned I'm working on and I might share it soon. However, I could also use neocities for the first time, remember the html I learned in secondary school and make an actual website for it.
Anyway, you fell into my trap, this is an excuse to talk about the programming class I had during my last year of secondary school.
I remember we first learned processing and it was really fun. You program shapes, their color and movement and that's it. You could select the size of the window, but you could still generate shapes outside of it, they just weren't visible. The last assignment was to make a project of our choice, but meeting certain requirements. I made a game in which a car follows your mouse horizontally and avoids other cars on the road without exiting it. It had three lives, you gained points for time you managed to survive and the cars got bigger as they got closer (the road was obviously narrower on the horizon). The time between cars in the same lane was semi-random and the colors of the cars were 100% random. It was one of the best projects in my class.
For html we had a similar assignment, make a "website" (can't really call it a website if it only exists in your own computer, but you know what I mean) with certain characteristics, but otherwise whatever we wanted. I made the page of a company that sold videogames (all things like fireboy and watergirl, obviously, but the images were edited so they looked like physical games for consoles like the nintendo ds), complete with the story of the company, biography of the directors, a promotional video (it was just a slideshow and me reading it, but an embedded video was one of the requirements) and ads that took you to a parody of ikea (the names of the items were just the items translated to finish with google and I used ikea's colors for the background and logo) that also had an add to go back to the other page. I remember I did try to make it possible to close the ads by clicking the x, but that required java and I didn't know any at the time (I did find a code that would help me do that, but I decided to not try anyway).

Computer Programming
Programming languages are like special codes that let us give instructions to computers. When I first started college as a freshman, I began learning Java programming. Java is a widely-used language known for its versatility, making it suitable for various tasks like creating websites, mobile apps, and even big business software. Learning Java was an exciting journey because it taught me how to solve problems and bring my ideas to life using code. I learned about important concepts like variables, which are like containers for storing information, and loops, which help us repeat tasks efficiently. Java also introduced me to the concept of object-oriented programming, a way of organizing code into reusable building blocks called objects. Throughout my college courses, I worked on projects and assignments that challenged me to apply what I had learned in Java. I also discovered a wealth of resources and tools available for Java programming, from user-friendly development environments to libraries that provide ready-made code for common tasks. Overall, my experience with learning Java as a freshman in college was both rewarding and foundational, setting me on the path to becoming a skilled programmer.
