Subjectively rating everyone's instrument match ups from this official art for Sekai Symphony 2024
Without individual pictures because I'm on mobile.
Leo/need:
Ichika (electric guitar): sigh... Girl why are you like this. Unfathomable. I'll let it slide because it's Ichika. Rating: electic guitar/10.
Saki (violin): Saki does not give me violin vibes at all but I'm sure she'll kill it if she actually wanted to learn. 5/10
Honami (oboe): I'm deeply offended Honami isn't in the percussion section. 2/10
Shiho (trombone): the most non-brass player brass player known to world. I don't see how it fits her. 1/10
Overall rating: they don't get you like I do girls I'm so sorry
More More Jump:
Minori (trumpet): absolutely incredible. Yes she's a trumpet girlie. I can totally see that. 10/10
Haruka (flute): yes. Oh my god yes. She is so flute-coded she can rival only Mafuyu. 10/10
Airi (viola): very mean. Let her in the violin section. That said I can already see at least three interesting story lines connected to that. Carry on. 10/10
Shizuku (harp): need I say more? 10/10
Overall rating: they would carry the entire orchestra on their backs, 10/10
Vivid Bad Squad:
Kohane (saxophone): the mental image is hilarious and I can totally see Kohane falling in love with the sax but she gets points taken away from her because saxophone is so not a protagonist instrument. 8/10
An (double bass): ...well someone needed to be a bass player but An is not that someone. She's not even tall enough. Free her. 3/10 because at least she looks like she's having fun.
Touya (trombone): hehe funky slide go brrr. Yeah I can see that. 8/10
Akito (violin): I've told you he has violin vibes. I told you so. Absolutely perfect pick. I think Akito would be a good concertmaster as well. 10/10
Overall rating: decent picks but An was done dirty and should have been a cellist. 7/10
Wonderlands x Showtime:
Tsukasa (cymbals): my condolences to all the percussion section but also yeah that makes sense. 10/10
Nene (cello): itty bitty cellist her instrument is almost as tall as she is. I definitely see the image though. 10/10
Emu (tambourine): she will insure her part will he heard. That said I think she'd do better at the marimba or other percussion instruments. At least it's not a triangle? 7/10
Rui (viola): I did not consider that option before and now I'm considering it. I'm considering it so hard. Incredible. 9/10
Overall rating: they're thriving. 9/10
Nightcord at 25 am:
Kanade (viola): yes. Yes. I can see that. Go forth my child. Make the viola gang proud. 10/10
Mafuyu (flute): that's a flute player if I've ever seen one. 10/10
Ena (violin): oh her having the same instrument as Akito would destroy both of them and me in the process. I could write a novel about it. 10/10
Mizuki (trumpet): they're just having fun and being silly. 10/10
Overall rating: truly Sega's favourite child. 10/10
No VS rating because they have different enough personalities between units that I have no idea how to rate them! Sorry!

Thinking about how this shot in the opening reminds me of the panel in 340 and I'm fairly certain it's meant to be the same scene (except obviously a little exaggerated but it's the same situation - window, chair, tied up in a room)
When I watched this part in the opening, the word "judgement" came to mind. It sort of feels like that with how the light is cast over him, his head low in that dark room alone
And when you pair the dialogue in the panel with it, it feels like "situation vs emotion", and what I mean by that is the reality of the situation is Aoyama is tied up spilling his fears to Aizawa on the other side listening to him. He's literally not alone. The window is also much smaller in comparison to what the opening depicts. That is the reality of the scene
Emotionally though, this is a low point in Aoyama's character. He betrayed his classmates, his friends. He was arrested. He hurt the people he cares about. Even before he was caught, it was clear he thought of himself as a scumbag, a "villain", for having ties with AFO. In the scene in 340, he goes on to say he wants to crawl into a hole and die, to leave it all behind, which shows just how much he detests himself for what he did. It shows his mental state at the time
So I think the feeling of judgement fits so well with the visual Bones chose for the opening. This is Aoyama confessing his feelings of despair to his teacher, his fear not just of AFO but not being able to sparkle as his friends do. And the judgement paired with the way Aizawa tells him his sins will be with him forever, how Aoyama later goes on about "atoning for his sins" in the story, that matches the atmosphere here too
I'd like to also add that while there's the symbolism of the light outside the cell being associated with good and freedom while the dark inside of it could be associated with feeling trapped and that despair I mentioned earlier, it also reminds me of what Aoyama said about his friends sparkling
"I'm also scared that I can never sparkle and shine as they do."
Aoyama fearing being, say, dull and lackluster in comparison to his friends is also depicted in the shot in the opening. Aoyama in the dark, no longer twinkling like he usually would before this, while the window shows bright light shining through the bars, almost as if his friends are on the other side, casting his shadow
"The more they express their faith in me, the more I lose faith in myself."
You could also say the idea of the light being his friends on the other side of the bars is also those same friends waiting for him to come out, to join them and fight with them again (which he later gets to do in the war). But then, even as they are waiting for him, he loses confidence, which I think you can see in the way that his head hangs away from the window, so as his friends are waiting for him, putting faith in his return, he is losing faith in himself
I don't really have much left to say on this but I think it is just so interesting how you can tell so much from something that only lasts, what, a second? Which just goes to show how amazingly well this opening was put together. Of course, manga readers already know what happens with Aoyama's plot line, but to be given a shot that shows a symbolic angle on the scene AND Aoyama's feelings is so great

Regarding the current discussion about why Aizawa often gets the Dadzawa treatment in fanfics, I actually have a theory:
When we first meet him, we are primed to dislike him, after all he is an asshole teacher and specifically an asshole towards Izuku who we all like. But he accepts Izuku after the latter proves himself and we are given the impression that he is this "hard but fair" type that just wants to make sure everyone does their best. Not saying that thats what he is, thats just the impression most readers got from his earliest appearances.
And then, at the USJ, we see his cool side (at least for a short time) while him being an asshole gets overshadowed by Shigaraki and the Noumu being way, WAY more dangerous + he gets a sympathy bonus for getting beaten up while defending the students.
Also, despite being an asshole to Midoriya during the QAT, he also held back Bakugou, another asshole that we all wanted to stop fucking around and start finding out.
All of this I believe did two things:
It gave the impression that early Aizawa, despite being a hardass, is a good and committed teacher (stopped Bakugou, fought the LoV), especially compared to teachers (and adults in general) in comparable Manga and YA media who are often utterly incompetent, shitty, or worse. (Reminder that the likes of Korosensei are sadly the exeption, not the rule.) Obviously this image is undermined by... almost everything he has done since then, but we all know how powerful early impressions can be.
The second thing is that if opened the door for "What-If?" scenarios in which Aizawa wasn't an ass, or, more specifically, not an ass to Izuku. The constant underdog thing was already pretty obvious there, and, as stated above, characters like Bakugou or Shigaraki were liked less/seen as more dangerous, so the idea of an Aizawa that was still a hardass, but instead off going after our boy Izuku focussed his ire on eg: Bakugou, who was generally seen as more deserving of that treatment, was just very appealing. Both for Bakugou to meet consequences and for Izuku to finally catch a fucking break.
This is obviously just my opinion and heavily influenced by my experience with the first chapters as well as my earliest BNHA fics, but I just wanted to share this.
Also, there is obviously more to this, eg many Dadzawa stories are also Quirkless!Izuku stories that still propose that the man fights essentially Quirkless and use that as an obvious connection. Also, also, some fo the most famous/biggest BNHA fics, like most of Clouds works, feature Dadzawa heavily, and if you have limited knowledge of canon or forgot some aspects when falling into this fandom it's easy to just follow along what sounds like widely accepted and liked versions of characters.
But yeah, anyway I need to get some sleep so I'm stopping here.
TLDR: It was imho kind of a perfect storm of lots of different things that turned Canon!Aizawa into the Dadzawa that now stalks Ao3.
It fits with the "If I'd known you'd only just gotten your Quirk, then I would put in my duty of care" trend you see a lot.

Ꮺ 💧 Requested ⨾ Hi Hi ♡♡! I would like to request a Ticci Toby fanfic, with a male reader who would be a friend of Toby's before he started homeschooling, and they ended up meeting again years later, when Toby was already a proxy. Like, Toby and the reader had been friends for a long time, but when the whole incident occurred the reader didn't hear from Toby anymore and thought he was dead, until they meet again!
I wish it was something platonic, I'm dying for just platonic comfort with this man. ૮꒰ྀི ᴗ͈ ˕ ᴗ͈ ꒱ྀིა I would also like to say that I love your writing and the whole aesthetic of your profile, it is so good to look at, and your writing is so good and consistent, I hope you are having a great night/day!! (feel free not to write if you don't like it!!) ♡꒰ ´ ` ഒ

I barely write for platonic and I'm so happy that I finally have a reason to write one— Although I made this fluff with angst at the end and I hope this is to your liking. Thank you also, I tried making my page organized and easy to find my works ^^ I may.. Or may not go overload with the back story yet I'm still not happy with what I came up with.

6-7 YEARS OLD —
Toby's life had always been filled with challenges, especially when it came to his health. He had always been prone to uncontrollable tics and twitches, which made it difficult for him to fit in with other children. He was often teased and ridiculed for his condition, and it made him feel like a social outcast. It wasn't until [M/N] came into his life that he finally found someone who he could connect with. [M/N] was kind, generous, and compassionate, in his eyes.
When the two boys first met, Toby was like a kitten abandoned under the rain and misunderstood in class. He had a condition that caused him to uncontrollably tic and twitch, and the other children at school bullied him endlessly. But something in [M/N] felt like he wants to take care of him, he saw the good in Toby and became 'friends' with him, even when it meant being bullied by others themselves. Although, it was hard to approach Toby. He looks at him as if he was prey, as if he wanted to do something to him but eventually he manage to get in Toby's side.
Toby was not nice or empathetic at all, he doesn't really understand why [M/N] get hurt when he said something so offensive and insulting. He doesn't understand why [M/N] cries when he slaps him. He was being treated like this, Why can't [M/N] handle it like he does?
11-12 YEARS OLD —
Toby was aware of how other kids treated [M/N], he was vulnerable and yet something in him snapped when a kid touched [M/N]. A kid that isn't him. Leading him to doing something awful. Yet [M/N] makes up excuses to find a reason why Toby had done that, as if he doesn't want to see the real Toby.
For as long as they could remember, [M/N] and Toby had shared a close bond. They had been each other's constant companions since the days of elementary school, and despite Toby's medical condition, [M/N] had never let that stop him from being a true friend. Although their homes were separated by only a few blocks, before and after school, he was right Infront of Toby's window. [M/N] would often make the trek to be with Toby. They would often spend their weekends or even some weekdays after school together, enjoying one another's company. Sometimes, they would talk for hours on end, always finding a way to have their conversation even when they were physically apart. [M/N] would find a spot where he could view Toby's window, and they would talk with each other just by using a pen and paper. Despite their limited means of communication, they never cared how long they spoke, for they knew that their bond was unbreakable.
This friendship has now become a testament of true friendship, not only to Toby and [M/N] themselves, but to everyone who has witnessed their journey. Though everything isn't always happy, this leads him to feeding his delusions, like he was making up scenarios about the both of them. Toby thinking if they keep being like this, nothing will come to them.
[M/N] had always been aware of the hardships that Toby faced in his home life. He knew that his father was an alcoholic and often took his frustrations out on the rest of the family. Toby would rarely talk about what went on in his home, but [M/N] knew that it couldn't have been easy for him. When Toby was caught talking to him, [M/N] was enraged at the unfairness. The fact that Toby was punished by his father and prevented from going to school for a week because of something so simple and innocent was unacceptable. It only served to further solidify [M/N] determination to stand by Toby and support him through thick and thin, no matter how difficult it might be.
[M/N] had always been a gentle presence in Toby's life, always reminding him to take care of himself. He would often check up on Toby to make sure he was eating enough, and would gently remind him to avoid bad habits like chewing his inside cheeks or not taking care of himself. His acts of kindness and compassion were never ceasing, and they often helped keep Toby on the right track.
Toby's mother is grateful to have [M/N] in her son's life yet also afraid about what would happen to him. She know her son well enough, the episodes, the outbursts, she knew. A pure boy like [M/N], Toby will just suck that out of him. For His Sister Lyra? She was overjoyed, she sees you almost everyday outside just to talk to Toby and she covers you up whenever their dad spot you. She talks to you sometimes outside, she was so happy to see you everytime.
However, when [M/N] 's guardian finally found out about him getting bullied for protecting Toby, things took a turn for the worst. It wasn't the first time they heard him getting bullied, none of the teachers were doing anything. His guardian made it clear that they did not approve of their friendship and told [M/N] to avoid Toby at all costs to the point they're moving out. [M/N] , heartbroken and throwing a fit, could not help but feel devastated at the thought of losing his only friend and constant companion.
The news that Toby was being placed in homeschooling only served to amplify his sadness, forcing him to come to terms with the possibility of not seeing his dear friend ever again, it was the final nail in the coffin - [M/N] was devastated knowing he was losing the one person who had always been there for him.
Toby's reaction to his mother's decision to put him in homeschooling is both one of anger and confusion. On one hand, he may view homeschooling as a relief from the bullying he was facing at school, but he was frustrated that he was being separated from his closest friend, [M/N]. Why would she let him get away from [M/N].. He was doing so fine with him? What Toby doesn't see, [M/N] was also suffering from the bullying he was receiving just by Toby's condition getting worse would likely result in him feeling less capable of handling everyday life, which may impact his overall mood and emotions. As such, his reaction could be interpreted as feeling overwhelmed or even hopeless, as he may feel alone and without proper support in such a challenging time..
But as the days turned into weeks and weeks into months, [M/N] started to lose hope. He couldn't shake the feeling that something had happened to Toby, but he didn't know what. And the thought that he might never see his best friend again was too painful to bear.
17 YEARS OLD —
[M/N] was consumed by guilt and regret; it had been weeks even months since he last spoke to Toby, and he couldn't help but wonder if the worst had happened. No matter how hard he tries to communicate, he had nothing. He even thinks Toby was dead. The thought of losing his best friend, the person who had always been there for him through thick and thin, was unbearable, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was somehow at fault.
Right when [M/N] hears the news about the car accident, he felt his heart drop down to his stomach. A combination of shock, worry, and grief. His immediate concern will be for the safety and well-being of Toby and his sister, and he want to know more details about the accident as soon as possible but [M/N] 's guardian never let him be close to the Rogers'.
It was like everything happened in just a second. This tragic series of events would understandably leaving the poor guy feeling a wide range of emotions - shock, distress, and a deep sense of loss. The death of Toby's father.. And two weeks later, there was few missing or injured teens and one of the suspects was Toby? He was being consumed by worry for Toby's safety and well-being, and the thought of him being controlled by something unknown would further enhance his sense of helplessness and fear.
But something in him had hope, Toby was still alive.
18-19 YEARS OLD —
He decided to take action. He dug through every news article and police report he could find, searching for any sign of Toby's whereabouts. He scoured the streets, asking anyone and everyone if they had seen him, but there was no trace.
With nothing to go on, [M/N] decided to take the search into his own hands, even if it meant putting himself at risk. He scoured the woods and forests, calling out for Toby's name, hoping against hope that he would hear a reply.
And that was it, He saw Toby.. [M/N] was devastated to see what Toby had become. The boy who he had once known as his best friend was now a monster with a thirst for murder, a proxy for some unknown force. But [M/N] refused to give up on Toby - he knew that somewhere deep down, there was still a glimmer of the friend he had once known.
•◦✦────•◦ᘡᘞ •◦────✦◦•◦•
The brisk air bites at his face as leaves crunch underneath. Hearing random noises that animals makes, cold wind hits his face. Snaps. he heard, making him turn to the direction where he heard the branch snaps. He sees a man around 5'6, with an old hatchet. [M/N] stumbled upon Toby in the dense forest, a wave of confusion washed over him. His pale face is covered by goggles and a mouthguard, a bit of brunette hair visible that made [M/N] question if that was Toby or not. He had known Toby from a previous life, a time when they were friends, sharing laughter and memories that seemed like a distant memory. Now, however, Toby was a changed man, his once-cheerful demeanor replaced by a cold, calculating gaze.
Toby's eyes widened at the sight of the [M/N], he tried to conceal his emotions. He didn't want the [M/N] to see him in this state, as a proxy and a killer. He truly didn't want to see the man now, after all he have done to run away and escape. Bitterness bubbled in his chest as he remembered the [M/N] departure, the weight of betrayal still heavy on his heart.
"Toby," the [M/N] was cut off by Toby. "W-Why are you here?!" He yelled, making the other flinch. "I was looking for you! You disappeared, and after seeing the news.. I-.. I—" Toby's eyes blazed with anger, his voice rasping as he replied, "Mmm-me?! You left me in the dust, [N/N]. You chose to walk away, and now I'm stuck in this hellhole, killl—ling for my survival."
[M/N] and Toby stared at each other, the weight of their history hung heavy in the air. [M/N] 's heart ached at the sight of his former friend, his thoughts racing as he tried to piece together the events that led to this moment. He can't even walk closer, Toby isn't the same anymore. Not with a hatchet on his hand.
"Your face..." The boy whispered, his eyes widening as he took in Toby's gruesome visage. Blood caked his features, and his eyes held a haunted look that seemed to go beyond the physical damage.
Toby voice shook with anger and desperation, "Sta—y back! You don't want to see this!"
[M/N] hesitated, his gut churning as he considered the offer to help. The police were the last thing Toby needed, and he knew that his own involvement could have severe repercussions. "I... I won't tell anyone," he promised, taking a step forward. "We can leave this place and find a way to fix it. Whatever happened, we can get through it together."
But Toby response was immediate, his hatchet raised in warning. The brunette faltered, his heart pounding in his chest. He could see the fear in Ticci's eyes, a fear that was palpable and all-consuming. "You don't understand," Toby whispered hoarsely, his voice cracking with emotion.
Toby was angry, confused, frustrated. He wants [M/N] out of here, he was angry because of him going to such a dangerous place like here. He would never ever want to see the boy be trapped like he was. "Please, Toby," [M/N] pleaded, his voice trembling with compassion. "I'm here to help you. We can run, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe. Just put the hatchet down, and we can figure this out together. We can go back."
"Do nnnot bring the past!" Toby's eyes searched the young man's face, his own filled with doubt and uncertainty. He could see the sincerity in the other boy's gaze, a shimmer of hope that pierced through the darkness clouding his mind. "I don't need—need to go, All I want is you to get out of here!" he snapped again, his voice cracking. He hated this feeling, it was a long time that he felt something like this again.
"I can't leave you here, Tobias ," [M/N] insisted, his voice filled with determination. "I owe you that much."
Toby's eyes hardened, hearing that name made his blood boil. his voice sharp as he retorted, "Don't you see? This is why you must leave! I can't let you get hurt because of me!— if the others se—es you— they'll —"
"Others?" [M/N] spoke, his heart aching at Toby's words. Who's them? There's more? Toby is with them? He wanted to help, to make things right for the man who had once been his friend. But he also understood the pain that drove Toby, the fear that had taken root in his heart.
"Who's them..? ," he said softly, stepping back.
To be continued...

Include (Mourn) Me
Danny thought he would say this but being inside the thermos was honestly relaxing and a bit fun.
In some cases even therapeutic for him.
So he created another thermos just to hold him, in a way that he could fully control, that way he wouldn't be trapped.
Tucker & Sam would carry him around with them, usually speaking with him and including him in their activities.
Danny while inside could only project his emotions towards them to communicate, but they understood him perfectly with how long they've been together.
Tucker was still trying to create something special to vocally speak to each other in this situation, not really necessary but a fun idea for Tuck.
The citizens of Amity were already used to this so didn't even give them a second glance.
The people outside of Amity on the other hand?
Completely different story.
Which caused a lot of misunderstanding when the trio decided to take a road trip before heading to college.
To these people it looked like Sam & Tucker were carrying around their boyfriend's (Danny) ashes, and completing a bucket list that Danny never managed to live long enough to enjoy with them.
Speaking and including Danny in their activities like he were there and responding to them being their way of coping with his death.
~
S&T: "Oh! Look Danny they have those candies that you really like!"
Danny: *Excited vibes*
Gas station employee: *wipes a tear away* "Oh what tragic love story"
~
Inside a store shopping
Sam: "Look Danny they have space stickers, do you want some?
Danny in the shopping cart's baby seat: *Space! Stick them on my thermos*
Tucker looking at Danny's thermos: "Good idea Danny, It'll make your thermos look really nice!"
People around them: "Is that an urn? Are they speaking to the ashes?"
~
At a museum
Tucker: " 3 adult bracelet passes to the space exhibition please"
Employee: "3? Sorry sir I need to personally put them on, could you call for your third member?"
Sam: *Holding up the thermos* "Here he is. Do you have a bracelet big enough to fit him?"
Danny is too excited to pay attention
Employee:

brother i still have no idea how tumblr works and this is my first request and it might not even be in the right place but—
why does NO ONE talk about the fact that “Allie” would be such a silly nickname for Alastor? i would love to see some headcanons/a lil story about how he would react to the reader calling him that. maybe completely detests it at first but secretly likes it?
a/n: hello lovely, you've come to the right place 🫶 yes yes yes!!! i'm obsessed with this idea <3 i'm adding to this: he would think you're mad at him when you finally call him normally again ^ ^
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆
"What did you say?"
"Huh?" You hum, attention devoted to fixing Alastor's bowtie.
"That thing you just said. Repeat it."
You finally blink at him, using your palms to smooth out the front of his jacket before stepping out of his bubble. "I said your tie was undone."
"No, dear, before that."
The Radio Demon can feel his eye twitching in irritation. You look at him again dumbly, trying to retrace your steps.
"Oh!" You flash him a little smile and he thinks his brain is going to explode. "Allie?"
He just gawks at you, surprised by the sheer audacity you have. And it doesn't help that he's so fond of you that he doesn't even want to strike you down.
Had it been someone else calling him so endearingly, he might have done something violent. But how could he do that to you, his darling companion, when you look so sweet calling him such a ridiculous name?
"My apologies but... where did that come from?"
"Isn't it cute?" You grin, completely dodging his question.
No, he wants to say. Absolutely not. However, your smile is ever-growing and he can't very well deny you this pleasure. So he sucks it up, draws in a deep inhale to compose himself, and nods.
"Of course, cher."
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆
Weeks pass and the rest of your friends in the hotel begin to raise a brow at how casually you address such a powerful Overlord. And more than that, he doesn't seem to want to correct you.
It becomes his name reserved exclusively for you. Angel had tried, once, to purr out Allie in a seductive way that made Alastor's skin crawl. Never again.
He gets used to it. Even likes the idea that there is something shared between you that no one else can have. That is, until you're pushing around your breakfast on a plate one morning.
"Can you pass the salt, Alastor?"
He looks up from his mug of coffee in confusion, brain taking a moment to buffer before it catches up with his already moving mouth.
"Alastor?" He repeats his own name, staring at you intensely and most definitely not passing the salt over the table.
You look back up at him blankly. "That's your name, don't wear it out."
He scoffs at your lame joke before sliding the salt shaker over the table. There's something unsettling him and he can't quite place it.
Setting down his newspaper, he watches you as you eat. His gaze is so fiery that you look up from your food almost instantly.
"What's wrong?"
"Are you alright? Have I done something to upset you?"
Your brows scrunch. "No, why?"
"Why did you not call me Allie?"
Complete and utter silence settles over the dining table until he feels like he can't breathe. Your spoonful of food hovers just in front of your open mouth as you stare.
Then, laughter. Laughter fills the room and his ears so heartily that he feels it in his own chest. You double over the table in your fit, spoon clinking onto the plate as you drop it.
"What?" He grumbles.
"Of course I'm not mad at you!" You howl, using a finger to wipe up the tears gathering in your eyes. "'Sides, I thought you hated that name?"
His jaw grows taut. "Hate is a powerful word."
"So you like it?"
"Absolutely not!"
"Liar, you do!"
Alastor is never one to get flustered, but here he is for the first time in his afterlife, teetering on the edge of bursting out in flames. "You are terrible, you know that?"
You snicker, leg getting trapped between his under the table. "Yeah, Allie, I know."
Yet the way his smile softens says it all.
