Hello another art to prove my point, I hope
Tumblr media
Mr sexyman
The biggest possum
His big victory here is handed to him. And it's odd how no one talks about Izu. "Duh izu is not the center of the universe" ok, fair. He isn't. But Izu is the reason for why overhaul is defeated and shig managed to get revenge (it's not for Magne, it's for his ego) here where I find odd....
They didnt saw Izu fighting a overhaul as if is a boss fight? No one saw shit? And even if there a valid excuse as "oh they didn't saw the fight bc X" ok fine....and the rest?
Ochako was there, she saw...and what Izu get is.... nothing!
Look not saying Ochako owns him anything. She doesn't. And the tiring idea "izu gets no bitches" is annoying. Making girls date Izu wouldn't change a damn thing ...but is too much to imagine after such boss fight ...his "friends" would be more appreciate of him?
Ofc. This is MHA write by hori. Fuck you Izu.
What makes me go 😬 is how Iida looked down on Izu and called him criminal.
(Yes, the house arrest happened before the overhaul arc just to clarify here)
But what Izu got after is nothing.
We had nigheye dying and still holding on his beliefs. Am did nothing.
Mirio does nothing bc he doesn't know and never will.
And again, heroes should work to help and not to get fame but why the whole shit "hero can't get fame" applies only to Izu...when all the others heroes do get fame and still do their jobs ?
Back to the image. Overhaul was defeated by Izu and shig got his revenge (for his ego) and that's it....we lost a great villain for absolutely nothing.
And Shig does nothing to this.
Shiga doesn't even mention Izu's fight
He is a husk
Izu is underveloped and underappreciated to insane degree.
And all of that...for absolutely nothing.
This manga does piss me off sometimes.
Hi @mikeellee 👋
The overhaul arc had some solid ideas but I do wish that the execution was better.
The arc is supposed to be a big first step for both izuku and shigaraki. There is clear symbolism of this. This is the first dark and proper arc for mha.
The overhaul arc is also the first arc where there is a clear loss for the heroes. In the end we see two hero deaths in this arc and the fact that they weren't able to successfully capture and stop the villains. The arc also seemed like it would end with them NOT being able to save Eri which would of been a worse loss for them.
This is all symbolic as we see all mights retirement and reign of peace end and an era of uncertainty and imbalance begins. We see straight from the beginning how this is negatively effecting the heroes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izuku is urged to step up to his role to use the image that he created for himself in the sports festival and develop it even further. We see Izuku's heroism and what he stands for up close in this arc and it's futher emphasised as its contrasted by mirio's own heroism.
Izuku and mirio are supposed to be contrasts in this arc.
Tumblr media
Overhaul and shigaraki are also supposed to be contrasts in this arc.
Tumblr media
Izuku and shigaraki are also supposed to be contrasts but these are contrasts that don't heavily interact this arc. I actually don't mind them not having major interactions in this arc but I do think there needed to be minor ones at least shigaraki and izuku acknowledging one another in this arc.
This can be done with izuku making small connections between eri and shigaraki. This can also be done with shigaraki acknowledging izuku's strengths and maybe thinking of recruiting izuku onto his ranks.
Izuku actually does receive some acknowledgement in this arc of how smooth his take down of overhaul is and this is done by nejire. However, the way izuku seems to receive rewards and praise within the series seems idk lacking and somewhat hidden (while yes this is supposed to be a point) I do think that a lot of his efforts usually go unnoticed specifically by those close to him.
Tumblr media
Ultimately the arc fails in properly convincing me that both izuku and shigaraki are
1) worthy of their positions
2) that they have outgrown their foils and have started to become the new good and evil
Now moving onto the second point, the house arrest issue is a weird case.
After all of the development iida went through in the hosu arc you would think it would properly effect him as intended so it's incredibly annoying to have iida point fingers at izuku and label him a criminal.
What's even weirder is that no one not even izuku objected to the house arrest. I assume that house arrest will be a big mark on ones record so someone like izuku should of protested it since he only started to fight in the name of self defense and even went to actually ack bakugo's emotions and allowing him to take them out on him which he didn't need to do and he shouldn't of done that.
Tumblr media
It's incredibly weird that iida and ochako who are aware of bakugo's aggressive and outright bullying towards midoriya whether that be name calling or aggression let this slide without a comment and without fighting for him once they find out what happens.
The reason that they look like such bad friends is because of a multitude of things like:
Lack of screentime between them and izuku
The way their behaviour magically changes towards bakugo
The lack of give there is in the friendship which also falls to the first point

Date Night with the Big 3
How the Big Three Would Take You Out on a date:
Mirio Togata
Tumblr media
Mirio: *He popped his head through the door with a smiley face.* “Y/N, you ready for our date? I got your favorite!”
“Mirio, I’m coming! Jeez, just please give me a few more minutes to get ready alright? Why are you even rushing me?”
Mirio: “But it’s special, it’s our special day today!”
“As if the last dates weren’t special enough..you keep stalling like that and we might end up later than expected..” *They muttered as you were just about almost done getting ready in the bathroom, stepping out to grab your purse, you couldn’t help but pause to laugh as they saw Mirio just phasing through, his baby blue eyes popping out as he was making goofy faces.*
“Ah, oh here’s for my one and only, my sweet, beautiful gorgeous Y/N..” *He said as he wiggling both of his eyebrows in a flirtatious manner, but just as he was handing the flowers, he slowly realized that he was bare naked, except for having his boxers on of course.* “Oh right…hehe.” He phased his whole body out to grab his clothes and opened the door to change back into them before the two of you head out to a small 70s themed diner, shaving two plates of burgers and flies, sharing a vanilla smoothie together with two swirly straws from both ends.
Tumblr media
Nejire Hado
“C’mon Y/N! You already look pretty/handsome as you already are! We’re gonna be late, you think that someone already took our reservation spot? Ooh, I can’t wait to actually go and be on a romantic soirée, all of the music and the scenery. It’ll be just spectacular…OH MY GOD!” *She was waiting on Y/N’s dorm bed, laying down forward with her feet kicking up the air as she was already dressed up, wearing a white sleeveless silk shirt and some navy blue slacks, her jaw dropping as she saw you, all fresh and in much more date night attire. She hopped off the bed as she walked up to you, looking at you in awe.* “Y/N..you’re so perfect, omggg. I just wanna kiss your face off, can’t we just cancel the date right now-!” *You grabbed her facial cheeks as she was practically melting into your touch as you smiled down at her.*
“No, Neji. We’re going to be late! You can continue talking while we’re on the way there.”
“That’s not fair, I wanna stay on here with you! Why don’t we just have a date night in here instead?” “Because it’s just better to go out more and spend time with the person I love the most.” *You stated as you held your hand out towards her, giving her a grin.* “And plus the movie theater is 30 minutes from here. We might end up being late if we don’t leave now.” And so the two of you went out on a movie theater date watching a cute movie together, you wrapping an arm around her shoulder as the two of you were sharing popcorn.
Tumblr media
Tamaki Amajiki
Tamaki Amajiki: *The elven haired boy seemed rather nervous as he was standing outside of the dorm, holding a small group of flowers he picked out from the school garden, leaning his head towards the wooden wall in front of him as he was contemplating even going in the first place, he just couldn’t stand the thought of just being together in public at all, it was making his legs shaking by the minute. That was until he was so lost on thought that once you opened the door, he fell down on the floor inside the dorm, his while body tilted forward.*
“Tams, watch out!” *You caught him just in time before he accidentally concussed himself, holding him by the shoulders.*
“R-Right, sorry Y/N..also about that date, m-maybe we should just not go. I wouldn’t want to bother you and…and..” *His eyes widened as he saw the sight of you, all dolled up and so breathtaking that he just froze, seeing you in such formal attire.* “Y/N..you look…” *He gulped as he stared down at the flowers beginning to wilt in his trembling hands. For some weird reason, he just had that little spark in his shy brain telling him to be honest as he was clearing out all of the doubts in his mind when he saw your pretty face, those gorgeous eyes staring back at him as you were looking to the side for a moment as the two of you shared an awkward moment of silence, his ears and face turning red like a tomato.*
“Forget about what I said earlier..you look so beautiful, like extremely beautiful..” *He blurred out as he looked directly towards the ground, handing her the small flowers.*
*You were definitely the bashful type as you heard his simple yet thoughtful words as you fixed up your hair. You didn’t really mind the unkept flower, just the fact that he muster up the courage to even ask you out in the first place, especially since you were on a busy academic schedule* “Oh..why thank you, Tamaki. And those flowers..they look so lovely.” And so, after a shy yet awakes silence, the two of you made your way down to a quiet hill place which was sort of your own little spot to watch the fireflies surrounding you both.

Hi! I love your writing and just wanted to know who you think the size queens of BNHA would be? Anyone that would be relieved if their Alpha had a smaller dick? Thank you!
Hey!! Thanks so much!! I hope you enjoy <3
n-sfw discussion below :D
Size queens:
Midoriya - When he first starts a sexual relationship with someone, he unlocks a massive part of himself that laid dormant before. That part is his floor length list of kinks and fetishes. Being a size queen is one of them. He loves to feel like he’s being ruined fully and completely, sobbing, drooling, the works. He also likes the idea that he can only get enjoyment from his alpha’s cock because they’ve conditioned him and ruined him to the point he can’t feel pleasure from small dicks. His pain/discomfort tolerance is very high, and he loves to prep himself for his alpha in advance, so no issues there. Midoriya is kind of a cockslut ngl.
Dabi - If sex doesn’t hurt at least a little bit, he probably can’t get off. He takes pride in being able to take it as well, he has that smirk on his face every time he bottoms out. Rearrange his guts, make it hard for him to walk, he dares you.
Those that enjoy a big dick, but not too big:
Bakugou - He likes to feel it deep, in either orifice, so bigger dicks are ideal. He also lowkey feels pride in his alpha’s dick being bigger than average lol. That being said, he’s not a size queen. There is a limit where he draws the line. He wants it to feel good, not hurt. He’s not a masochist.
Aizawa - He likes sex to hurt a little bit, ngl, so a bigger dick does give him the pleasantly uncomfortable stretching feeling that he chases. But too big and blowjobs become uncomfortable and prep takes too long and he can’t fit it into his schedule. There’s a happy medium in his mind.
Shigaraki - He’s a massive cockslut and definitely likes to think that he loves a massive cock to worship, but he’s also a massive wuss, and he doesn’t like it hurting too much. And he’s impatient and hates prepping himself. So, he’s a size queen in theory, but in reality, he just likes a slightly bigger than average dick.
Sero - It’s just his personal preference. He likes how a slightly bigger dick feels and that’s it.
Those that don’t care:
Mirio - He’s very much a believer of ‘size doesn’t matter’. He doesn’t care, he really loves whatever his alpha has to work with.
Todoroki - It doesn’t even enter his mind to have an opinion on what size dick his alpha has. His alpha’s dick is his alpha’s dick. That’s all there is to it.
Mic - Emotions turn him on, so as long as the dick in question is attached to someone he loves, then the size couldn’t matter any less.
Kirishima - Another big believer of ‘size doesn’t matter’. He thinks it’s very manly to work with whatever you have to please your partner, so if he’s pleased, he’s happy.
Hawks - Whatever it is, it’s his alpha’s. That makes it safe and perfect and beautiful. He finds average size easier to deal with, but honestly, whatever the size, he wouldn’t change anything.
Those that prefer an alpha with a smaller dick:
Tamaki - He finds the concept of a massive dick to be terrifying. He was very relieved to find out his alpha had a manageable size that Tamaki was very comfortable with.
Shinsou - He cannot stand alphas with big dicks. It truly pisses him off. He believes that the bigger the dick (physical), the bigger the dick (personality.)
Iida - He never watches porn and he waits until marriage, so he’ll accept whatever as the normal, but if he could choose he prefers a smaller dick. If you ask him why, he’ll just say it’s more ‘reasonable’. I don’t know what that means 🤷‍♀️
All Might - He’s a small man who’s injured and getting on in years. He doesn’t want his legacy to end because he was fucked to death, that would be embarrassing. A smaller dick is perfect for him.
(I genuinely couldn’t decide for Denki... Idk, I’m open to suggestions for him haha.)

My Hero Academia
I have a lot of problems with this Anime/Manga. I used to be a big fan of it back in like 2016-2017 when it was getting really popular and the anime was in its first two seasons. But now I have so many problems with it, and that's not to say that it's the worst anime/manga around or anything. I just have a lot of frustration with it that I need to vent I guess. There are going to a lot of Manga spoilers, so you might not want to read this if you aren't caught up or anime only.
A starting point is a little difficult to really come up with so I'm going to start with the main character Deku.
Deku is not the best protagonist. Personality wise I think he's fine at least, heck I'd even say I like him personality wise. It's just that he is not well utilized by the story. His arc in the manga just seems to be gaining confidence and getting better with his powers. That's not a terrible arc in it of itself, but I don't think MHA does a particularly great job of it. In the whole of it it feels like the only real reason he isn't confident at the start of the story is because he doesn't have a quirk. And once he gets One for All the main reason he isn't confident is because he can't use it properly. This again really isn't a bad thing in it of itself. Yet, when put together it makes him feel way flatter than he should be. It makes it feel like his only real flaw is that he can't use his power properly. He doesn't have any other problems in regards to his attitude or personality. The immediate impulse for a lot of people would to make him darker/edgier, but he doesn't really need to be morally grey to be interesting he needs a flaw that is meaningfully shown. For example he feels like he isn't enough and in spite of having one of the most powerful quirks and the mentorship of his idol he still feels insecure and not enough or a flaw that is sort of shown he has, but it isn't meaningfully expanded upon until the Dark Hero Arc (and even then the quality of it there is arguable) he's overly self sacrificing to the point of pushing people away and hurting himself and others due to it. These aren't amazing suggestions honestly, they are just some examples of ideas of flaws that could be used to give him a greater level of depth. But also it mildly implies that being quirkless is his main problem and that is not great honestly.
And quirklessness in the context of MHA is not handled well. There are 3 types of discrimination in the world of MHA. The first that is shown is being quirkless, the second is having a villainous quirk, and the last is having some amount of inhuman appearance. The way these are shown in the narrative all have their own problems, but let's start with quirklessness. This is set up extensively in the first chapter, it is the initial conflict of the series. And it factors into the plot so little. There are three characters in the manga that were born quirkless, and all of these characters in some way get a quirk. There are characters that lose their quirk, but most of those are characters in spinoff material or literally just lost their quirk like with the last 20 chapters. Ragdoll being the only character that lost their quirk and has had a genuine emotional reaction to it (Also Mirio, but he got his power back). She is obviously upset because she essentially has become disabled, being unable to do something she was previously able to do losing her job and passion in the process. Which is upsetting in context, but being quirkless is only really shown in the narrative as a bad thing that people want to avoid and is tragic when it happens. In the world of MHA it is around 10 to 20 percent of the global population, for reference 10 percent of the real world population is left handed.
Why is all of this a problem? The story spends so much of the first few chapters on Deku being quirkless, and it is in effect a large bit of wordbuilding that goes unused for most of the story and the affect on the story is minimal. There is no scene in the manga where quirkless characters are discriminated against other than Deku. Deku doesn't see someone discriminated against for being quirkless and get mad about it. There is also theme that hero society is corrupted and flawed and quirklessness is never highlighted in regards to its flaws. Either for how they get treated or how the destruction of hero society would effect quirkless people. This doesn't have to be the biggest deal because this is a superhero story that has superhero main characters, it wouldn't be great if was just ignored all together, but the fact that two other forms of discrimination are highlighted as a bad thing and a core reason as to why 'hero society' is flawed. Yet is so unimportant in the grand scheme of things. And you can look at it as a superhero version of a disability and it cares so little about that. And I am not trying to say that MHA is problematic because of it and the people that created it and enjoy it are bad people. I'm just pointing out a problem I noticed.
But more about 'Hero Society' and the main antagonist Shigaraki. I don't really like Shigaraki all that much. He has some good things about him, like his power is interesting and his backstory is really good, but as a character in the narrative he doesn't really feel like he does anything. Shigaraki has very little agency in the narrative IMO. He mostly gets directed to go do things by other people or he does stuff that doesn't really feel motivated by anything in specific. This problem comes to a comedic crescendo when (spoiler) All for One implants a part of his consciousness into Shigaraki and effectively takes over his mind and body literally taking all of Shigaraki's agency away. Part of the reason Shigaraki's actions don't really feel motivated is because his stated motive is "the end of hero society" and like that is such a vague goal. The reason it is so vague is because MHA does a terrible job of showing all the corruption and problems inherent to it. He is being presented as being correct about the flaws, but misguided in his methods. But outside of backstory the only time before the final saga, which starts around 300 chapters in, the only meaningful time we are shown any of the problems that affect people are Deku being discriminated against for being quirkless (which as I said before doesn't really matter) and Shinso being disliked for his Villainous quirk. All of the other times are backstory (Which FYI is mostly just Shigaraki's backstory) and lip service that we are told instead of being shown. The only morally corrupt we get shown is Endeavor, who gets a lot of his absolute worst traits retconned a once he starts getting developed and also he gets a redemption arc. And then we are shown it so much more once we get into the final arc and at that point it feels hollow. This overall makes me not really like Shigaraki, he feels directionless and like he just kinda does things for the sake of it. Also he just feels overpowered at this point in the manga to a negative degree. And the whole "All for One takes over Shigaraki's mind" thing is terrible, confusing, and I hate it. All for One is a weaker antagonist, he has more agency but his motive is far more boring.
On the topic of Shigaraki getting his mind taken over let's talk about Star and Stripe real quick. She feels like such a utilitarian character to me. She exists to weaken Shigaraki and explain why the other countries of the world aren't helping Japan. I like her design, her power, her personality, but regardless she feels like she exists for a very utilitarian purpose.
Next up let's talk about Ida and Uraraka. They feel way underutilized as characters. Both get a decent amount of focus early on, and then drop off in terms of importance after the Hero Killer Stain arc. Ida only really gets focus in all of the various exam/training/mock battle arcs which IMO are too plentiful in the story and make the pace drag more than it should and take focus away from other parts of the story. Uraraka is similar, but she also got to fight Toga in the current arc. Both just get set up as really important characters before all of their focus and importance going to other characters, like Todoroki, Bakugo, Endeavor, and Hawks. Obviously both still get focus and are highlighted in arcs, but most of he big moments and narrative tension go to other characters. Honestly I like both of them, but it is a little annoying that they feel like they have been pushed to the background. Uraraka gets it worse because she just gets demoted to Deku's love interest for most of the story before her weirdly, I guess romantic is the word I'd use, fight with Toga. They get underdeveloped and underdelivered.
Toga is a character that is also underdeveloped and then she has all of her backstory dropped on you in a strange sympathy play. I don't hate the idea of her backstory as a way, but again it's just kind of dropped on you at a bad time. Plus her morality of being a literal murderer makes it kind of less sympathetic. The intensity of it all compared to the relative mundane nature of it makes it just not hit properly. It feels like her backstory of people not liking her because of her quirk and such is fine, but it is dropped at a bad point in the story and isn't properly presented.
This is similar to Spinner's backstory just getting dropped on us along with the discrimination of people with non-human appearances being poorly shown. We are told this is a problem, we are not shown it. The one exception being the one time the character 'Ordinary Woman' is discriminated against. She doesn't even have a full name.
Todoroki is overall one of the better executed characters in the story, but I am not the biggest fan of how the story centralizes on his family drama to the disservice of other aspects of the story.
Yuga is in theory a character I really like. But the execution on him is kind of bad. He is mostly a joke character with some moments of depth and bravery. But he is suddenly revealed to be a traitor with like one scene of build up like 100 chapters earlier. The traitor subplot being ignored and barely acknowledged for hundreds of chapters and then it is suddenly brought back up and ends almost as quickly. He needed more development before the reveal and more focus on the traitor subplot.
And then we have Bakugo. I don't really like him either. Not because he bullied Midroiya, but he just doesn't do anything all that interesting in the narrative. He does have some good hidden depths, him being uncorruptible and inspired by All-Might like Deku, he's far smarter than he seems, and he seems to respect Uraraka due to her performance in the tournament arc (at least as much as he can). And I will admit I am probably forgetting a lot of things about him to. But, I do think that overall he just doesn't do enough in the narrative to make me really like him as a character. He's like Shigaraki, there is a lot to him that is good, but the sum of those aspects doesn't feel greater than the whole.
There are obviously other things, the female cast is not the best written, Mineta, the fan service-y design of some of the characters, The terrible, terrible pacing of the last 100 chapters of the manga. At the least the pacing in the Final War arc. There are so many little problems that don't feel like they are that bad on their own and show up early on, but then they get worse and more problems show up later and suddenly all of these problems mix together and it just is frustrating.

I'm venturing here to talk about smth really controversial. It was on my mind the whole day- and yeah I was mentioned in an ask- but here we go:
I DONT THINK THE WHOLE "WE KILL QUIRKLESS" CAN STICK.
Let me explain. I know many, many people love writing fics where quirkless Izu is treated less than a sub human. How there killing squad for quirkless or how people can sniff Izu is one and...time to abuse.
But in canon WE NEVER SEE ANY OF THAT. The whole fanon idea "quirkless unlive themselves" is pure fanon. When Mirio got to be quirkless, he wasnt treated differently in the hospital..."well he is quirkless. Needs to pay an extra hefty tax just so he can exist"
But in canon we never even heard of quirkless heroes and...as much people think it would be cool if Izu was a quirkless hero- I'm not- it wouldnt work for canon. We never saw any quirkless ever expressing desire to be heroes.
A quirkless teen may be bumped out he can be a hero but...he can find a new path. I do genuinely think the quirkless arent being hunted for sports.
Now where I'm going with all this...while I do think quirkless can have a normal life (please ignore aoyama that reveal helped no one) here the question: why Izu wanted to be a hero?
As for quirkless's abuse? Izu was abused bc BK deemed him a victim. Have Izu had a quirk since day 1...he would still attack Izu.
Why Izu wanted to be a hero so badly?
Couldn't he work in another field?
I think quirkless prejudice can only apply to Izu. And only him bc Hori (is an idiot) and wants to make his pain a joke.
Also...Izu and his fanboyiness over AM- while not creepy- is a signal of Otaku. Japan sees otakus in a bad light...do the math.
Also note how no one in class A1 is fan of heroes, let alone AM who is the big shot of hero world....but "har har look at Izu being a fan of AM"
To conclude, its not quirkless death squad he issue here...its how Hori is always single out Izu in the worst way to make him miserable for unknow reasons.
Hori needs to give Izuku a break already.
The jokes aren't funny and are meant to single him out and feels mean spirited at this point.

¿What are your thoughts on the controversial Hagakure cover?
Hi cute question mark anon ✨✨✨
I don't think this is a separate issue from how Horikoshi handles his female characters in general so I'm going to talk more generally rant a bit (oops sorry)
also one reason this took so long is that I decided to join in the trend and gave the poor girl some clothes:
Tumblr media
The sexualisation of female characters in anime and manga is a big issue, especially when a big portion of them are underage (shonen is the most popular genre after all).
In my hero academia we see this with basically every single female character Horikoshi creates.
Momo, Hagakure, Himiko and Midnight all have "excuses" by the story to get naked on screen regularly. Supposedly it's because of their quirks, however there's plenty of male characters who's clothes don't get destroyed in every fight they're in, even if it would logically make sense for that to happen.
Male characters get to keep their dignity, but females don't get that same privilege.
The only male character that we see get fully naked because of their quirk is Mirio, but that's only one instance, and in every scene after that we get the explanation that he got a special costume made from his hair. If that's an option for him, why isn't it for Hagakure? Why does she have to run around naked in battle? Why do we need "jokes" about others accidentally touching her boobs because they didn't see her? We don't need that, she's a teenager!
Then there's Momo's design which is not only disgusting, but also doesn't make logical sense either. Supposedly the opening at the front is for practicality.
She "needs" to have big areas of skin open to make bigger objects.
Except that's a lie. We never really see her use the boob window for that. She mostly uses her arms to make things. And the biggest space she could have open for big objects is her back. And we actually see her use her back (and destroying her clothes in the process because of course she did!)
Most of the time when a female character is naked she gets objectified by the narrative and/or the framing/camera movement in a scene, while when a male character is naked it works as a form of fantasy fulfillment for the male target audience. I think this is part of "the male gaze" and not separate from it.
Here's a great video about this topic.
There's also the issue of Mineta's entire existence!
Mineta is the other reason I took so long to answer, because I went on tangent about how the concept for his character could have worked, and how I would have fixed it. But I realised this doesn't fit here so I took it out. (I might make a separate post about this)
This character (that Horikoshi has apparently admitted is a form of self insert) exists purely to objectify every single female character that's on screen. Every scene he's in, every line of dialogue he has adds no value to the story. He's supposedly there for comic relief, but most normal people don't find blatant sexism funny.
Some might say "oh but he gets punished for it. it's supposed to show how bad that is". Well yes but actually no. Mineta gets punished for his behaviour, but the viewers still get to see naked underage anime girls on screen. It's not a subversion of the trope if you're still doing the trope.
and Mineta's "jokes" get progressively worse as time goes on, which to me shows that this really isn't about the subversion of tropes/meta humour. It's just an excuse to sexualise female characters.
Thankfully this has seemingly stopped now (after the awful "joke" with Eri) presumably because Hori got backlash for it. He should have been getting backlash from the start but better late than never I suppose.
However Horikoshi hasn't (as far as I know) officially apologised for this. Even if he did stop inserting such jokes into the story, he clearly continued sexualising his female characters behind closed doors.
The Hagakure colour page is the culmination of all of those previous instances.
Horikoshi was able to freely sexualise underage female characters in his series time and time again with little to no backlash, because this type of thing is normalised in anime. So it makes sense that as this went on and he saw how much he was able to get away with, he kept doing it.
The page is truly disgusting to look at. Besides being completely naked there's also the pose itself, the weird barely there censors in the form of "keep out" tape of all things, but also something that I haven't seen anyone else talk about.
Her hand placement always felt weird to me. Even if she was wearing clothes, showing her hands in between her legs like that looks overtly sexual. It also creates this strong "V" shape, that deliberately directs the viewer's eyes downward towards that area instead of directing them up towards her face. (That's why I changed her hands to rest on top of her legs in my redraw)
Horikoshi is a professional artist, he knows what he's doing and he is known for his really intresting character designs. In this colour page, Hagakure is a sexual object first and a character second.
This is why Horikoshi's statement of "wanting to test her colour scheme" rings hollow to me. When you want to test what colours go well on a character you draw multiple versions of them and you basically play dress up by putting them in different outfits and changing the colours around. If he wanted to just test her hair and eyes, he could have just done a portrait from the neck and up.
Tumblr media
The way I see it, this is clearly just a poor excuse to avoid responsibility.
The issue isn't just Horikoshi himself, it's about how the sexualisation of women (underage or not) in anime is so normalised that it is presented as "part of the culture", and if you complain about it people will tell that "this is just how anime/Japan is" and that "you should just accept it"
If "part of a culture" promotes sexism then this is an objectively bad thing and said culture SHOULD be changed.

(daydreaming helps a lot for some reason), i like playing videogames and that stuff, and i also love researching things such as bugs (i love them but if you put a bug Infront of me i'd cry) and human behavior:], ii also have a lisp so how i speak in every single Language sounds funny,, im basically what would happen if you combined a nerd, anxiety, a clown and too much coffee (i cant even drink coffee bc of my adhd tho since it makes me very sleepy) hehebw i hope that information is good!! sorry for rambling too much again aa

hop in on the adventures of tintin.
he doesn’t mind going out to places that are quiet, or places that have little to no interaction with people. so probably like hanging around his dormitory or if given the chance when the school is on break he’d invite you to his place or if you ever offer, then you guys could hang around at your place.
mirio to me is the type of guy who can easily warm up to people and usually knows what to say and do. i mean after all, what do you expect from someone in the big three? so even hanging out that random silence of awkwardness would cease to exist. the more you both start getting to know each other and start creating that good rapport he’d be able to talk about anything and everything. and let's say there’s a topic you love talking about that isn’t within his knowledge, then no worries he’d be more than willing to learn and listen about it.
when you guys are outside, potentially to go out eating and or to buy things, mirio is your man, your buddy. you bet he’d be the one doing all the talking. i mean you can’t really shut him up. anyways when you guys go out to buy stuff he’d actually buy anything you’d want and that’s a fact. he’s generous.
pessimism is natural, anyone can feel those doubts and it’s so easy seeing things negatively. especially about oneself. but as optimistic as mirio can be he’d understand where you’re coming from and rather than saying haphazardly things like “don’t think like that” “don’t say that'' he'd be more than willing to hear you out and encourage the hell out of you. because no one deserves to be thought about like that especially from us.
your bluntness in my headcanon is something that catches him off guard sometimes, though he’d appreciate the bluntness. he’s most definitely the type to accept critical criticism or just anything about him. in terms of self-improvement.
every time you have that burst of energy mirio would think that it’s cute. and sometimes if not most times would be highly fascinated with your daydreams and would actually give great writing ideas to write about as they’re not too complex and can be worked around rather quickly.
there’s a funny little headcanon i have where he doesn’t mean to put a bug at your face, he just thought the stick bug was really cool and knew to some degree you’d research about them potentially.
he’d wouldn’t even notice your lisp and would actually say that he doesn’t hear it. but till one day he really notices it and his world opened anew.

CHAPTER V- DEKU
"He wants you to introduce Izuku to Sir Nighteye?"
Mirio finally told us the reason why All Might called for him. He left quickly early that day and when Mirio returned, it was time for classes and simply no time for gossip. So we opted to wait until we were back at our dorm.
"Oh right, the first years are allowed to work under agencies that would take them." Nejire remembered aloud, "But not a lot of heroes want to take in first years right now."
Tamaki nodded, "Fat Gum is also quite strict on who he's taking on especially after the attacks made to the hero class. Everyone is on high alert." He bit his lower lip and sighed, "But it will be such a loss if the first years don't get to experience what we have experienced before."
"He's right." Mirio started indulging on his rice, "I have been thinking about it and basically, I'll just have to introduce him to Sir. It will be up to Sir Nighteye if he'd want to have Midoriya around." Then he stopped to ask for my insight, "What do you think, Y/N?"
"You guys are right." Although work-study is such a pain to go through, especially when you're new to it, I think they have to experience it or else they'd lose a lot of valuable time. "But is this just for the boy or do you guys want to introduce the other students to your agencies as well?"
I looked at my friends. They all seem to be in deep thought. Their actions as the Big Three are so important that it can make or break their image.
Nejire pressed a finger on her chin, "We can. We have to but who should we choose?"
Tamaki sunk on his chair, already dreading it. "Troublesome."
"Maybe Eraser Head can help you pick. We can start of with a small number. I mean...if your agencies agree. Let's all ask first." I suggested, chewing on my rice. The Pro Heroes are the ones to allow them anyway, it will be out of our hands after introducing them.
"We can do that. Brilliant as always, Y/N!" Mirio agreed before going off for his third bowl of rice.
"I actually really like the frog girl." Nejire started musing, "And the gravity one, I think they're a perfect addition to the agency."
Then Tamaki breathed out, "They have a lot of classes to make up for, do you think they can do it?" He glanced at us with doubt heavy on his eyes.
"Well, if they want to, they can." I pointed out, finishing my dinner. "We have done it before. They can if they want to. Let's just try, okay?"
Not before long, I felt two strong arms wrap around my shoulders from behind.
"As always, she's right!"
In surprise, I hit Mirio's head with chopsticks. "Mirio Togata!" I yelled out in frustration. Everyone having dinner in the dorm started laughing at our antics. It was quite a habit for him to be physically clingy towards me and I would always be flustered. Everyone in class seem to find it amusing.
Mirio let me go before rubbing his ear, "Sorry." He sent me an apologetic grin. "I'm feeling quite touchy today."
***
Sir Nighteye glanced at us when Mirio finished. He leaned back on his chair before folding his long fingers on his lap, he was quiet.
"So you see, Sir, I bet he's going to be a great addition to the agency!" Mirio stood before him, completely unfazed under Sir Nighteye's scrutiny. "Do you think Y/N and I can bring him over tomorrow?"
Sir Nighteye then transferred his eyes to me. I could have buckled if not for the months of experience I have under him. "What do you think, North Star?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I have seen him before, Sir Nighteye. I think his aura will please you." I informed him, "Midoriya is an energetic boy. He analyzes and he catches on quickly." I had Mirio tell me all about the boy just in case Sir Nighteye would ask me about him.
I was right to come prepared.
Sir Nighteye then nodded, "Bring him over. I'll judge him for myself." He then turned back to his computer.
Mirio gave me a triumphant grin before we left Sir Nighteye's office. "Ah, that got me all sweaty!" He laughed as soon as we were out of the office. "I thought he was going to say no."
Bubble Girl glanced at us from her work station, "I was sure he'd say yes to you two." She gave us a thumbs up before turning her attention to me, "North Star, the additional Shie Hassaikai files are here."
Mirio perked up when he heard, "Is that the yakuza? Are we looking at their cases now?" I haven't exactly told Mirio about it since I don't have much details yet.
I nodded before taking the folder from Bubble Girl, "We're receiving reports of activity around the vicinity and Sir Nighteye wants to know what they're up to. We're suspecting two places where they are located but we can't be too sure unless I get to know one of their glows." I explained to Mirio, who was nodding in understanding.
Mirio asked for the file from my hand and I offered them to him, "So we already have information about them. What are we waiting for? We should go and investigate."
I shook my head, "Too early. Too soon. Sir Nighteye feels there is more to this than criminal activity."
"Specially after the incident with the League of Villains." Bubble Girl added. "Make sure you give Sir Nighteye the files immediately, North Star. We're still waiting for more."
"Sure thing, Bubble Girl." I took the file from Mirio and left them.
We were all early on the train the next day, as Nighteye's agency was an hour away from UA.
"Are you ready, Midoriya?" I glanced over the younger boy who was with us. Mirio looked at him too, flashing him a big confident smile.
"Ah, a bit nervous." Midoriya chuckled softly.
I gave him a smile, understanding how nervous he was. I was too when I first came to meet Sir Nighteye. Mirio also brought me to him simply because he talked too much about me when they first met. Sir Nighteye was curious about the star that Mirio kept on mentioning so I had to come over. He employed me right at that moment.
Mirio didn't have that problem since Sir Nighteye asked specifically for him. The reason why? We don't know but I had always assumed it was because Mirio reminded him so much of All Might.
"Just breathe in and breathe out. Don't forget." I shared the tip with him. Midoriya was hunched on his seat, giving me a sense that he was more worried than he let on.
Mirio leaned down a bit to join in on our conversation. Since I was not that tall, I could easily talk to Midoriya unlike him who had to bend down.
"Listen to Y/N, she gives awesome advice." Mirio winked at me and I rolled my eyes at his play flirting. "She's pretty too, don't you think?"
"Yes." Then Midoriya flushed, "Well, it isn't as though I think she's pretty and I want to be her boyfriend. I admire her and I think it is so amazing that you have such a talented girlfriend! I like you two together! Don't take it the wrong way, senpai!"
"Oh, no no...you have it all-"
But as to be expected, Mirio took it all in a stride, "I'm so lucky, aren't I?"
I wanted to hit him but we were in front of a first year so I will let it slide. But how can he not see how his words were affecting me? How can he not notice how my heart practically wants to jump over to him, offering itself to him?
Midoriya nodded enthusiastically, humoring Mirio.
"Do you like anyone, Midoriya?" Mirio changed the subject and I was just so grateful that he did. The entire train ride focused on Midoriya and the gravity girl that Nejire once mentioned during dinner.
When we arrived in the agency, Mirio and I reminded Midoriya that Sir Nighteye was a strict man but he honored energy and humor above all. If he wanted to be accepted, he had to make Sir Nighteye laugh.
I walked behind the two, putting my bag on my table just outside Sir's office, noting that the reports Bubble Girl usually leaves for me to discuss with Sir Nighteye were not there. Did she report to him herself?
When I jogged over to Mirio and Midoriya, we found Bubble Girl strapped to the tickle machine that Sir Nighteye had in his office. He only used it when things are boring and he needed to bring the humor back in his office.
"Just tell me what will happen, okay Mirio? I'll just check my e-mails." I whispered to Mirio as he and Midoriya watched the scene unfold.
I left Sir's office and went back to my table. Mirio was tasked to introduce the first year to the agency so I won't meddle anymore. I just hope Midoriya will do well on the first impression he will leave on Sir Nighteye. It was crucial.
After a few minutes, Mirio was escorting Bubble Girl out of the office.
"How was it?" I watched as Mirio helped Bubble Girl to her seat, since the other was out of breath.
"Ah, it isn't too good, Midoriya kind of offended Sir Nighteye." Mirio answered me, "They had a discussion about All Might and one thing led to another." It was a well-known fact that Sir Nighteye was a big fan of All Might - his office had a lot of memorabilia just in case someone forgets this fact.
And no one must bring up All Might unless they're ready for a heated discussion.
"Oh no." I bit my lower lip. Let's just hope you find your way out of this, Midoriya.
We heard movement in the office, I feared for the worst but knew Sir Nighteye was a rational man. As soon as the sounds died down, the three of us decided to interrupt.
"I'm hiring him, Mirio." Sir Nighteye announced.
I looked around the room, Sir Nighteye's All Might memorabilia seemed unharmed. There were foot tracks everywhere, even the ceiling. What were they-
Wait. Was he... Whatever Sir Nighteye told Midoriya to do, the young boy did it with the goal to not ruin the merchandise. I stared at the boy on the floor, wondering what kind of abilities he had.
As soon as Midoriya received the stamp, we started cleaning up.
"Sorry." Midoriya piped from the side, cleaning up his shoe prints from the wall. He and Mirio were straightening up the place while I fixed the documents - it was a good thing I know everything on these papers.
"Don't worry about it. You're gonna have such a great time here! Sir is an amazing mentor!" Mirio told him as he fixed the standee, "You alright there, star?" He glanced over to me, walking over and crouching down. "Wow, that's a lot of files. Do you need help?"
"No no, I'm good. Just make sure everything is okay." I told him without tearing my eyes away from the files in my hand.
"Why are you looking, Midoriya?" Beside me, Mirio was grinning from ear to ear at a flustered Midoriya.
"Nothing! I wasn't staring!" The boy denied pretty loudly.
I laughed at his obvious embarassment, does he act a lot like this when he's blushing?
"You're wondering how I managed to get such a pretty girlfriend huh? Or maybe why she even agreed to go out with me?" Mirio supplied different questions, "Or why I was calling her star?"
In his embarrassment, Midoriya managed to mumble, "The last one."
Mirio stood up, loving that he could tell the story again. While he answered the first year, Mirio went back to cleaning up. I listened to how he told the younger boy about the story of how we met, how amazed he was that I could always find him, and that I could tell where he was even when he was doing his best to hide from me.
His voice was always a mixture of being proud, and being ecstatic that he has met someone like me. It felt good that he always sounded that way whenever people asked, Nejire confirms that it was the same manner he answers even if I'm not around. She says that it was even more livelier especially if I'm not around.
And he always ends the story with the same statement he told Midoriya,
"As much as I want to hide myself from everyone else, star always sees me."

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Midoriya;
Absolutely down to help you with anything, he never asks for anything in return either.
Although, he does sometimes ask for you to spar with him. He admires you abilities in combat and thinks with your help he'll be able to get better at a rate he's happy with. Plus, its an excuse to hang out with you more.
Sometimes he has moments of vulnerability, thinking he isn't improving fast enough. You're apart of the select few he allows to see those moments.
An absolute dork. Will info dump at any moment, about the most niche subjects. You're happy to sit and listen to him yap but sometime his ability to talk at length without stuttering scares you.
Tumblr media
Bakugou;
He's quite most of the time. He likes hanging out in groups of three or more so he doesn't have to actually speak and he's free to just listen and observe.
You and Kirishima are his closest friends, so you can often be found on days off convincing Bakugou to come with you to the mall. To which he always replies so politely, something along the lines of: "I'd rather die. Get out of my face, morons, you're pissing me off!" Isn't he just so sweet?
You absolutely match his wit. If he throws an insult at you, you throw a worse one back. If he raises his voice, you raise yours. So does Aizawa.
Its one of the reasons he became friends with you in the first place; your spunk. He liked that you knew you were strong, and didn't let anyone tell you otherwise. You were also able to take the criticism without feeling sad, something he envied.
Tumblr media
Todoroki;
Keeps to himself a lot. Not much of a socialiser. A homebody at heart.
Forces himself to hang out when invited though. When he does he often finds himself drifting to you, your precents helping to calm him down.
The worst texter on the planet. So blunt it hurts. "yeah." "ok." "sure." "be there." "on the way." He also someone who responds immediately or 3 weeks later. He's not on his phone often, and he has it muted a lot because of his dad.
Nowhere near as polite as people think he is. Absolutely lives by "respect is earned, not given". He just has issues with social cues at times.
He's also incredibly chill. Likes to get his work done asap so he can relax and read manga.
Tumblr media
Kirishima;
Work out together are a MUST. "If you're not doing anything later, why don't we hit the gym?!"
He's such a 50/50. one minute he's so cool and is able to deal with issues, the next he gets all flustered and babbles on about what he could have done better.
That's a BIG thing with Kiri, he doesn't care about being perfect, perfect is just a concept. He cares about being better. Better than he was yesterday. Better than he was last week. Better than he's ever been. If he's not constantly improving, he gets REALLY down.
Does not let anyone see his down moments, that would not be manly. You find him one day, crying to himself because his quirk envy was SOARING. He gave you that bs of not wanting you to see him cry coz its "not manly", you smacked the back of his head telling hi to stfu and let you comfort him.
Tumblr media
Kaminari;
Dork.
You're actually dumb and dumber. Tweedledum and Tweedledee if you will.
Doesn't have too many doubts or reservations about becoming a hero. Not that he's not capable of those emotions, I just think he doesn't see the point in getting so down about it and much prefers just fixing an issue asap.
A very expressive texter. Will use GIFs, memes, emojis and copy pastas for everything. He has a folder saved. His memes are more organised that his course work.
Tumblr media
Sero;
You share manga. Even read it together sometimes.
Always puts you on the BEST music. He has playlists for EVERY emotion known to man. Has them labelled like 'pining (v.)' 'stargazing (n.)' 'content (adj.).
The chillest guy in the world. Will not make a big deal out of anything because he sees no need for it.
Still is absolutely down to mess around and have a laugh even if it get you in trouble. Its all apart of the memory for him.
Tumblr media
Iida;
The sweetest and politest person to ever exist. Ever.
He can often be found reading. Will not even notice he's humming in agreement when he reads something he likes. The occasional "ah, I see" when he's doing his academics.
Not the best with social cues, but still isn't as bad as people make him out to be. Can absolutely take a joke, he just cares a lot about being a hero.
This boy is a family man through and through, will talk about his brother when he gets the chance. It weighs on him that he now has to uphold the name Ingenium, but you offer him advice and peace when he gets all worked up.
Tumblr media
Momo;
A classy girl, but she's still down to do whatever her friends suggest. If they want to go to the mall then sure, she'll go, but you'll find her in a café about 20 minutes into shopping.
She's a people watcher, not too big on socialising. Often finds her closest friends in crowds
Has the most detailed routines. Her bathing takes about 1-2 hours, she has an extensive list of products she uses. If you have a skin issue, or a problem with your body, she know exactly what product to use to help. She even known the cheaper alternatives.
Big tea drinker, often brings a flask to school full of something to help her focus.
Tumblr media
Jirou;
Down for anything, anytime, all the time. Literally the definition of "sure thing".
Not the best in big crowds, but plays it off.
She has such a good music taste - listens to everything, with a preference for rock.
Writes music all the time, you're always the first person to hear it. She loves when you give her advise on how to improve. This also translates into hero work too. If she gets a new move, she is so excited to show you.
Tumblr media
Mina;
The extrovert of all extroverts.
Huge on music and dance. She cannot get enough on 2000's clubbing music, but she's also a sucker for 90's hip-hop.
Also really into fashion and shopping. You always get invited to the mall with her.
She's the one who set up the group chats and often taken the lead when it comes to organising things outside of school - Iida and Momo take care of the school stuff.
She needs help a lot with her work, finds it really hard to focus for long periods of time. Group study sessions help her out the most.
Tumblr media
Ochaco;
Such a pure soul.
She's so incredibly strong willed, it almost bugs you how she's able to bite her tongue at times.
A lot like Todoroki in the sense that, as sweet as she is, she absolutely doesn't take any shit. Is nowhere near as polite as people say. She'll give everyone the same respect she wants to see retuned. If someone did something to make her lose respect, she'll lose all of it all at once. Which is why she has to bite her tongue a lot.
You, her and mina have the nastiest gossip sessions. You all put the world to rights at god-knows-o'clock in the morning. "I mean, did you see the dirty look she gave me? what more did she want me to do?"
Tumblr media
Asui;
Loves hanging out in groups so she doesn't really have to contribute to the conversation. The best listener.
although she can get lost in her own thoughts when you're talking to her. She'll apologise profusely when you bring her back to reality. Doesn't mean she wasn't listening, just means she was overthinking what you said to her.
Saying that, she's able to focus up really well in lessons.
She'll ask you to go on walks with her when she needs to clear her head, she finds comfort in your company and is happy to walk with you in silence.
Tumblr media
Mirio;
You're never not laughing around him. Bring joy with him everywhere.
Has the worst dad jokes known to man. Sometimes they're so bad you just have to stare at him in disbelief.
Down for anything all the time. You often have to convince him not to do things.
Even though he's big on humour, he's not the best at sarcasm. Sometimes he will take things literally, it won't bum him out, but he will feel a little sour,
Tumblr media
Amajiki;
HATES group settings, but also kinda likes them because he can slip away a lot easier.
Hangs out at home but loves when you can all just sit and chill together. Likes movie nights or just reading manga together in silence.
Mario often drags the two of you away from whatever you're both doing to go for a walk or something. He's not gonna make either of you do anything you don't want to do, but he pushes you to get out of your comfort zone as much as possible.
You have silly inside jokes that no one else understands.
Tumblr media
Aizawa;
He's a busy man, but he tries to make time where he can.
He often just likes being in your company. Your chill with just sitting in silence doing your own respective things, but he also love to just listen to you yap as you talk about your day.
Tricket man. He likes little sentimental things. 100% has a memory box (most of it is of you).
A silent Carer, but he cares so deeply it makes his heart ache.
Not big on hugging but will give them when you need them.
Tumblr media
Hawks;
As charming as he is on the surface. You might be the only one he's talked to at length about his trauma. Best Jeanest knows about his trauma, but you understand.
Will take you a flights around the city. He loves the cityscape at night so he'll take you to the top of a building and talk with you as you watch everyone's lights turn out.
He will also take you above the clouds when the suns setting, its the most breathtaking sight. He gets to watch something so beautiful, while holding you close. Its a win-win. Even if he's not meant to be doing it.
He's often busy, so he'll leave you little notes and/or gifts when he happens to fly past your apartment window.
Will jumpscare you at night, coming to your window mildly injured, seeking your comfort.
Tumblr media
All Might;
Big jokester but can take thing serious when needed.
Loves giving out hugs, especially in his muscle form.
You were one of the first people to find out about his power and its secret. You were also one of the first people he saved, and in turn you'd managed to save his mental when he was going through his worse moments.
Changed your phone ringtone to match his as a prank. You never changed it back.
Tumblr media
Dabi;
A man of few words. Values silence but also likes deep talks, especially when your views align with his own.
You met when he was out recruiting for the LOV. You were the only one who didn't fold or become hostile immediately when he showed himself.
Not insecure about his scars, finds them like trophies. Still, he's not a fan if he catches you staring.
Doesn't really laugh, most you'll get is a nose exhale or a smirk. He just enjoys things more internally.
Tumblr media
Twice;
Most confusing dude, but you're so patient and understanding with him which he is so grateful for.
Not a leader, prefers to tag along with you when you go out recruiting. Often messes things up when he contradicts himself when he talks, but if someone insults him, you have no problem cutting them down.
You bonded over you care for your friends. You called it found family, and he lost his mind over that term.
You carry an extra mask of his around in case he ever needs it.
Tumblr media
Mr. Compress;
The most dramatic guy.
Adores flamboyance, and likes when you put on a show if you're fighting.
He sneaks you into the theatre with his quirk. You both bond over musicals and you introduce him to some musical movies.
Brings you breakfast and the like when he can. Loves being able to serve.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki;
Obsessive to a fault. You're one of the only people he confides in about his mission.
He trusted you from the moment you walked through the door. You were rational enough to see his plan, whilst still having your own agenda.
You also weren't afraid of his quirk, happily touching him when you laughed and joked.
Often found himself staring at you as your stirred up conversation with Toga and Twice. Dabi noticed his staring and having him glare. That was the only time Tomura ever felt embarrassed.

Tao's prediction about 1-A getting trained by the Big Three had come true. Which had left Filo a blushing, stuttering mess around Amajiki, which led to the boy thinking she was scared of him. While literally everyone else caught on that it was a crush. Mirio promised to defuse the situation, while Nejire had promised to make sure it would happen in a way that did not spoil her feelings. Filo was done for anyway, as most of her female classmates, and some of the guys, began teasing her about it right away. Which made her all the more grateful when Tao told her Shigaraki wanted to meet her. Her day with Toga had been fun, and she had gotten some nice stuff out of it. It should probably concern her that the fact those things were stolen didn't bother her at all. The blonde had talked a lot, and Filo felt a lot of sympathy for her. Maybe enough to pull some of the others over as well, make them see Toga was just another victim of the society that had been created. For now though, she wanted to meet Tomura, and hopefully, get in contact with the big man himself, All for One.
"HI!", greeted Toga as they both stepped through the door. Tao and Filo smiled, greeting her as well. Magne was sitting at a table, playing cards with Spinner. Dabi and Spinner were at different tables, doing their own things. Mr. Compress was sitting at the make-shift bar, getting served drinks from Kurogiri. Shigaraki hummed, looking Filo up and down, as did Dabi. "So, you figured it all out, with such little information", the dark haired man said. Everyone but Shigaraki looked at him, confused. Filo nodded. "It's only little when you've got just one fact. But I know how to work with little info and turn that into the entire puzzle", she turned to Shigaraki, "Which is why I want to speak to All for One. With all I've gathered, I believe the heads of the Heroe's Association work for him. I want to ask if it's true." Shigaraki blinked, dumbfounded. Then, he turned to Tao, scratching his neck. "Could you tell your friend to stop dropping bombshells like this with no warning? And in such casual tones, too." Tao shrugged, a little helpless. What was he supposed to do? That theory was news to him too! "May I ask", Kurogiri interrupted, "What exactly makes you think like this?" Filo beamed at the dust-man, seating herself at the bar like she belonged there. It should probably concern her that she did feel like she belonged here.
"Well, first of, he is a strategist. While most people make a Plan A and a Plan B, he has a plan for every possible route someone of interest to him could be taking. Just so there are no surprises and he won't end up betrayed or backstabbed, and will always be in control. Second, it just makes sense. Let's review the attack on our class in the beginning. Mr.Snipe was not allowed to shoot through Shigaraki's head or heart, not allowed to kill him. Despite the fact Shigaraki would have turned Tsu to dust had Mr. Aizawa not managed to free himself enough to use his quirk. In other words, even when a villain has killed or is about to, the Hero is not allowed to kill the villain. How does that make sense if not so All for One has more villains under his command or in general. At one point, the Hero:Villain ratio will fall to the villain's favor. And even if a villain is arrested, they're put into Tartarus, not the death row. Here in Japan, the death penalty is still very much legal. So why not end the arrested and very dangerous villain who will keep murdering the moment he gets free? Again, because All for One needs every villain he can possibly have alive for his grand plan. Then there's his connection to everyone here. We all know Tomura was raised as his successor, and Kurogiri as his bodyguard" Kurogiri and Tomura exchanged views, neither of them had told her about his, so where did she knew from? "Dabi is in it for reasons I am not allowed to disclose upon his request, so I'll just let it stand on his own. And I'll guarantee you everyone else was somehow scouted by him as well, either personally or by one of his minions. All of you who were fucked over and mistreated by the Heroes and Society. Heroes are required to report all calls they respond to, which will include your families. How did All for One got these info if not someone giving them to him? In conclusion: He may not control who gets named Hero and who doesn't, but the big cats in the association listen to him."
The room sat silent, all stunned by the words. "Jeez you're smart." Shigaraki scratched at his neck. "Really smart! No she isn't!" Twice yelled. Toga grinned. "We're keeping her!" Tao smiled. Everyone sat near Filo, asking more questions she happily answered. Tao looked over at Shigaraki. "Would Sensei even let her see him? I mean..what if he hurt her?" He said. Shigaraki looked at him and shrugged. "No clue..maybe if you accompanied her. He trusts you, more than her that is. Although you haven't seen him in quite awhile right?" He asked. Tao crossed his legs and nodded, running a hand through his hair. If he was honest, he was glad he hadn't seen the tall intimidating man recently. "Last I saw him was first day at UA. Any information I get I give you and you forward to him." Tao leaned his head back. "If I'm being honest I'd rather not see him." Tomura nodded. He understood. "If you're worried about..more experiments don't worry. He made a deal with me awhile back that he'd perform those on others." Tao looked at him, eyes wide. "R-really? When did- how?? Sensei never makes deals.." Tomura nodded and gave a small smile. "You think I could let him hurt my brother?" The words almost made Tao cry. He held back tears the best he could, smiling softly. "Thanks Tomu.."
"You wanted to speak with AFO, right? I told Tomura and he should be asking him." Tao said. Filo nodded, thinking. Tao looked down and sighed. "You're real smart, yknow. Everyone at the League likes you, even if some don't show it." Filo looked at him. She smiled. "I like them all as well. Toga is really sweet." Tao laughed softly and nodded. Although, she really was only sweet whenever you were on her good side. "How about we go back to the dorms? Curfew is soon. Don't want to get scolded by Iida." Filo offered. The day had been a long one, and rest was most certainly needed. Tao nodded eagerly.

Where MHA fails : stakes and tension
I know a lot of people have made similar posts about this topic but I wanted to give my two cents on this so here it is.
MHA's early arcs definitely had a lot of tension and stakes like just look at the usj arc or the shopping incident heck even the overhaul arc had some good tension and stakes when it came to the idea of izuku would actually survive his fight against overhaul with eri full on having a whole Quirk breakdown on his back. However, after the overhaul arc that tension and stakes all faded away into nothingness which is now the final war arc. In my opinion, there are a few reasons as to why this happend but the most prominent reason is:
Hori refuses to kill characters for the plot
Yeah, that's pretty much it. The lack of character deaths really doesn't help the tensions in the show and the characters that ACTUALLY DO DIE OR GET INJURED don't really affect the audience in any major way.
Midnight- horikoshi had to kill someone close to the hero kids so tensions could rise and students could actually truly realise how dangerous it is and really up the stakes that the villains are back and stronger then ever. However, we don't see midnight really bond or interact with the students so the whole having momo ,mina and Kiri crying over her doesn't hit big.
Twice - I get it the guy had to die and yeah if we are talking about it his death or him living created a bunch of tension and stakes for the hero's because his quirk is really deadly to be honest. However, I don't think his death was done well to be honest like it was probably one of the best deaths hori gave us but I can't help but think there could of been more when it came to him
Nighteye- honestly this is the same as twice like I know his death was there to serve a turning point in the story and show the darker side of heroics which worked but he was honestly an asshole so I was happy he was gone. I only felt bad cos of mirio crying so maybe try and make him a nicer person and then kill him off?
Magne- never really bothered with her death. Like sure it definitely amplified the tension between chisaki and the LOV but we could of probably seen more from her then he could of killed her off but the same with twice and nighteye her death did raise the stakes and tensions by a lot.
Shirakumo - his death was just there to make us sympathetic towards aizawa and him being revealed as kurogiri just ruined his character because even though it had potential you can definitely tell hori didn't think it through or expand with that plot point
Then there is the other deaths I don't remember or just don't care about like crust, whatever number of other pros who died during the war, native, the villains
And there are the villains who hori just done dirty in killing them like SPINNER ,TOGA AND DABI
Something like this can be easily fixed in MHA which is literally killing more characters that SHOULD of died in MHA like:
Gran Torino - how is that guy still alive?
Aizawa shota ( Iam 50/50 on this)
Bakugo Katsuki - the guy had a full complete character arc his character went full circle so he was just there also his revival made no sense you could of revived him differently
Someone from 1A or 1B (raise the tension)
Enji todoroki - his death would of made more sense then him living for multiple reasons
Miriko - idk how she is alive
Lady nagant - same as miriko
GIVE VILLAINS LIKE TOGA, DABI AND SPINNER PROPER DEATHS.
Horikoshi's 2nd biggest problems when it comes to stakes and tensions is THE LACK OF CONSEQUENCES!!!!!
The hero's and villains should of had more consequences overall to raise the stakes in the show. Hawks and tokoyami losing their QUIRKS IS A GOOD Consequence BUT THEM GETTING IT BACK DIFFUSES THE TENSION. This is the same for what happend to mirio. Unpopular opinion, but AFO should of had his own consequences with taking a living powerful sentient soul taking or absorbing quirk like dark shadow.
There are so many consequences that hori could of gave as a result to WHAT ALREADY HAPPEND BUT HE CHOOSES TO IGNORE IT AND GIVE CONSEQUENCES THAT CONTRADICT HIS WHOLE PLOT.
What I mean by that is the whole izuku somehow losing danger sense. That stuff makes ZERO SENSE how and why would that happen? Isn't danger sense and the other QUIRKS all merged within OFA because that's exactly why AFO couldn't take OFA from a OFA user because yochi's quirk is merged withing OFA and so are the other QUIRKS so how is it that danger sense is stolen by shigaraki?!?! Does this mean that izuku is someone that somehow has the capacity to carry 8 DIFFERENT POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS QUIRKS. That makes no sense because if it isn't that he is somehow related to AFO then how isn't he a nomu with the amount of quirks he has.
In conclusion, the problem of stakes and tension is literally caused by two major factors:
Horikoshi's inability to kill off some characters
Horikoshi's lack of consequences and if consequences are given they tend to CONTRADICT the plot

m. togata // veracious truth
the one where Mirio is oblivious to the fact that Tamaki and you are siblings and not dating.
fluff // masterlist // warning : protective older brother [?]
m. togata x gn! social reader //  0.87k
Tumblr media
Tamaki and you were always together, despite the fact that you were, academically, single year below your blue-haired companion. That being said, you always hung out with the Big Three of UA, and were very familiar with them. You told them about all your troubles, whether it be from your internship, from your school life, or even from your home life.
However, there was one thing that confounded the students of UA that nobody would find the courage to talk about. How could a literal ball of sunshine be with somebody as shy as Tamaki? This question had left Mirio Togata especially astounded.
The golden-haired third year harbored a schoolboy crush on you, his feelings beginning on the day he first met you, but never departing. Neijre Hado always tried to convince him that Mirio had a chance with you, a ginormous chance with you, but she was never successful. Therefore, she devised a plan, a grand one that was going to change everything on this very day.
Late evening on a quiet Saturday night, the moon’s glow was leaking through the blinds at Mirio Togata's dorm. The forgotten sounds of the chattering in the weekly social night in the 3rd year common room didn’t mean anything this time.
Deciding to play truth or dare, the Big Three with the unexpected addition of you were slightly excited with the prospect of tonight, all for different reasons though.
You had just left to complete your most recent dare, take a couple laps around the dormitory, hopefully giving Neijre enough time to ‘pop the question’.
"I don't think (F/N) would mind if we moved on to you Tamaki, right Togata-kun?" Tamaki felt like his hands were clamming up and his vision was fogging up. He didn't do much without you there, you had always been his support system, somebody there to help calm his social anxiety down. Even though it was only Mirio and Hado, he couldn't help but have an uneasy feeling erupting and evolving from his nervous system.
"We should wait for (F/N) to get back.."
"I agree with him, Neijre. If Tamaki wants to wait for his turn until (F/N) is here, we should let him."
"Okay Mirio-kun, but I want to ask Tamaki something." Neijre directed her attention back to the anxious teenager in question, before taking a deep breath, preparing to ask the tedious question ahead. "Amajiki-kun, do you think Mirio-kun has a chance with (F/N) in the future?"
Mirio’s blinding smile faltered from his face, he wanted the Earth to swallow him whole, he did not want to be here right now.
"W-why would you ask that?" Amajiki let out a breath he had before taking another one in quickly, in order to say something without stuttering. "Mirio, do you have feelings for (F/N)?"
"Tamaki, I didn't mean for you to find out this way, I’m really sorry I-,” he halted his sentence when he heard footsteps go down the hallway, and his bright smile reappeared.
Mirio couldn't help but let his widely-recognized smile falter a bit as he saw you re-enter his dormitory and make a bee-line for Tamaki, sitting right next to him and resting your head on his shoulder.
"So, what'd I miss?" Tamaki had an apparent look of disgust on his face aimed at Mirio, how could anybody have a crush on his family member? Not just any family member, but his sibling? His younger sibling for that matter, the one he always wanted to protect.
"Not much, I'll fill you in on it (F/N)! So basically Mirio-"
"Wait!" Neijre couldn't even finish her sentence without being cut off by the male in question interrupting her. Mirio got up from his seat and stood in front of you, and suddenly bent down in an apologetic manner. "(L/N) (F/N), I know you're dating Tamaki, but I really like you, please I can’t keep this inside anymore." Mirio bowed, keeping his eyes to the floor and shut closed, while you looked in disbelief. It was silent, before you emitted with laughter from his statement.
"I'm really sorry for laughing, but Tamaki and I aren't dating, he's my older brother!"
Neijre broke the split-second of silence of Mirio’s mind in pure shock at how he didnt see it at first. “That explains a bunch, but don’t you two have different last names?”
“Our parents split up, I went with our mom, he went with our dad, and we reconnected during junior high. Moving onto one more topic, you had feelings for me?” You got up from your seat next to Tamaki, taking Mirio’s hand in yours and explaining that you had a slight crush on him too.
After hearing this news, Mirio’s bright smile reappeared, and gave you a big hug, not deciding to let you go until Tamaki cleared his throat, not very pleased with this extremely sentimental moment.
"I'm going to talk to Mirio for a minute, we’ll be right back.” With all the attention on him, Tamaki stood up before walking out of the room, Mirio unwillingly following after separating from you.
Neijre and you chuckled when yelling mixed with many voice cracks came from the door, and a (mad?) Tamaki and flustered Mirio came back into the room.

BnHA Ch. 365: Review, parallels & comparisons - Part 1, Tenko & Mirko
One of the reasons I love this manga is the way Horikoshi pulls the rug out from under the readers and toys with his own audience. Killing the most popular character towards the beginning of a battle is one thing, doing it to develop the villain is a true power move. This chapter made it increasingly clear that it’s all about Tenko (the symbolic “essence” of who Shigaraki really is, un-tainted by AFO). Unlike rewound AFO, who is just a (powerful) dude that can be taken down by one man, TomurAFO simply cannot be hurt on the outside.
Tumblr media
TomurAFO’s only “weakness” is his emotional state. The heroes MUST save little Tenko, imprisoned by AFO and unable to express himself except — it seems — through TomurAFO’s right hand and occasional shouting outbursts. We saw in the Star battle that TomurAFO will use his right hand to kill, but somehow he held back for Dabi and for Bakugo. People who could be his friends. And he uses his right hand to cover his face when he’s defending himself.
Tumblr media
It makes sense because Tenko wanted to be All Might. He loved heroes, and when he killed his family, thought he’d be saved by one. Shigaraki even tells us in MVA that if anyone had reached out to help, maybe “the itch would have gone away for good.” But nobody did. Tenko thought it was probably punishment for killing his family. Even worse, Tenko was so traumatized and “racked with guilt” that he couldn’t speak up and ask for help himself. (Sound familiar?) AFO took him in, but only for the purpose of crafting him into a meat puppet. TomurAFO knows that AFO never truly cared about him, and is near certain he’ll never feel good again. Shigaraki even says in MVA, right before the “why not destroy everything?” panel, that the weight in his heart will never go away, even if hero society comes crashing down, even if he rises to rule the underworld, and that’s WHY he should decay everything that annoys him. It’s a fatalistic mindset grounded in hopelessness. In this context, it’s logical that TomurAFO is angry over multiple heroes working desperately to save a “destroyed” Bakugo.
Tumblr media
Not only did no hero save Tenko (not even a D-lister) while the UA kid gets 3 out of the Top 5 heroes helping him, the heroes’ hope and determination is proof that destruction won’t make his heart stop hurting. Even with a perfect body and global destruction at hand, he won’t feel good. Destruction is only a temporary salve.
It’s Mirko who blocks TomurAFO from lashing out and stopping Edgeshot and Best Jeanist from helping Bakugo, so of course, he turns his attention to her. When she proves she’s willing to go all “127 Hours,” tearing off her own arm to stay alive and protect the impromptu heart surgery, TomurAFO stumbles. As he’s thinking about Bakugo’s big hit on him, Mirio permeates to block his eyes and distract from Mirko setting up her next attack. When Mirko gets close, she yells that she won’t die with regrets left on the table. TomurAFO is stunned, which allows Mirko’s Luna Rush to connect with full force.
Unfortunately, this riles up Tenko because he doesn’t want to die with regrets either. He still shoulders unbearable guilt over killing his family (and, in the case of his father, wanting to kill), and nobody has ever done anything to help him with that. The heroes are doing their damndest to revive a dead child, but nobody wanted to look at Tenko, let alone revive his family. As his “perfect” body shifts and changes into its “ideal” form, we see people emerging from his flesh. I can’t quite tell if it’s the family he wants to see again or the people who failed to help him (so he can punish them?). Either way, his body is manifesting his psychological pain as Tenko’s hair gets lighter, his eyes get darker, and his skin gets itchy.
Tumblr media
I’m both excited and scared to see TomurAFO’s and the heroes’ reaction. Trauma manifesting as flesh people can’t be a good sign. But I’m also keeping a close eye on Tenko — what will happen when the itchiness/urge to destroy overtakes Tenko while TomurAFO still has his quirks erased? Because the only time he feels good is when he has power to achieve his dreams, whether that’s to become a hero OR destroy it all (and AFO is the one who taught Tenko to soothe the itch with destruction rather than family or heroism).

Can I request hc’s of Kirishima, Aizawa, Mirio, and Hawks seeing their bae wear female versions of their pro-hero outfits?
Kirishima's is longer because it gives some background information that goes for all the characters!
Unedited<3
Tumblr media
Kirishima Eijiro<3
Firstly, being his significant other gives you first access to almost anything he gets- clothing included.
You’ve lost count of the t-shirts and enough sweatpants for an army
Not to mention the plushies and blankets along with the posters and the tons and tons of china you’re received, all with abstract/ literal art of your boyfriend.
You’ve worn every variation of his merch you could think of
And every time he had to take a picture and put it in his “baby looks like me’ album- then railing you into another dimension no matter where you had to be
With Halloween coming up - and your 6th anniversary close approaching- you knew this costume had to blow any other costume you’d ever worn out of the water.
You went through party store after party store- mind you, it was only September so the number of crazy looks you got was at an all-time high
The ides came to you while wearing one of his skin-tight workout shirts and looking through photos of his costumes over the years
It practically slapped you in the face and you were on the phone with a seamstress within five minutes
It was the hardest thing to ever keep from him, especially when he was going in and on about his new gadgets
The look on his face when you walked down the stairs all decked out in an exact replica of his uniform, he was in shock
He just kept examining the costume and promised to send the tailor a fine check because it was an exact replica
He was so consumed in it he didn't realize he was taking it off and before he knew it he was balls deep in your hole
O worries he’ll cum inside to make sure nothing gets ruined-- so considerate
Aizawa Shota<3
Honestly-he didn't pay too much attention to what you were wearing
He takes account of it but never lingers for too long
He’s the epitome of all the matters is personality, but all of that doesn't mean that a few looks don't stay in his mind for years on end
Like a few certain skirts that you happen to wear every time he leaves something home and you have to go to the school to give it to him
The black one that Mineta still never stop talking about- a reflection of his actions present in his grades
Then the pretty blue one you went to the beach in, a coverup the just so happen to cover absolutely nothing
Then his favorite- the white one that shows your pussy off no matter what angle he sitting
Of course now, this black long-sleeved short and gray pants along with a mock capture rope
Whatever this was- he knew exactly what it was- would be something he never forgets
Yeah and all those sly smirks you've been sending him all night will be compensated for the second he’s able to get out of this conversation.
Mirio Togata<3
He’s in total amazement
He really didn’t know you could even make a replica of his uniform, for some reason he thought it was illegal
It was perfect, the red cape fluttering in the wind even though there was no wind at all and that it was entirely skin tight
He’d seen you in little to nothing, hello fucked you any chance he got so he really didn't know why it was getting to him so much.
He's sure it had something to do with the fact you wanted to copy how he looked
And ego boost, maybe, but he’ll just tell people that he appreciates the effort and loves that you even thought about doing something like this
But they don't know about the hours he spent later that night fucking you into the counter- costume still on
He didn't even care about the hours you put into it, all he could think about is how delectable you looked all night
Hawks<3
To say he’s obsessed with your outfits is an understatement
He's the kind of guy to want matching outfits for cute dates and taking pictures of all the clothes that he just loves in you
Ironically anything with a big beige coat- bonus for anything with feathers- and anything that was red
Noticing the pattern being shockingly similar to his daily wear, you just decided to get a version of the fit for yourself
The clothing was easy enough, a winter coat some doc martens, and a black sleeveless shirt- it was a replication of the wings you were struggling with
Damn you need to make anything you did perfect, it was frustrating, to say the least
You finally found something that can replicate wings on amazon- be it that it’s supposed to be a bdsm toy- but it worked
Oh it really worked for him
Wings that he can pull on without hurting anything? On you nonetheless? It was perfect.
He just had to take you out on a flight around the city, then of course back to your apartment where he didn't let you out of his sight for more than five seconds.
Those little wings being his favorite toy to make sure that you keep a steady pace while bouncing on his cock.

SHINSOU HITOSHI
two years after his enrollment into the hero course, shinsou had finally came to terms with the feelings he’s been holding for you for quite some time now.
what began as just friendly encounters and kind gestures felt like something more to him. after all, you were one of the key people that led him to transition smoothly into the class, with your helpful demeanor and coming to his aid whenever he was stressed and troubled by the new environment.
you went out of your way to organize study sessions and small arrangements to mingle and get to know the other students better.
you reiterated to him that if he ever had any questions about anything, he could always come to you.
initially, shinsou thought he was being a burden—that he was just heavy baggage that tied you down.
however, you assured he was anything but, and stated that you were more than happy to help him, even going to say you enjoyed spending time and getting to learn more about him.
at your response, shinsou was appalled at how genuine you were.
appalled… but also very grateful.
eventually, there came a point when he realized there was no mistaking the affection he felt for you—not when he subconsciously noted every one of your habits and intricacies, able to tell whatever emotions were running through you at a simple glance, or when he would stop to admire the way you decided to style your hair differently or changed your look, thinking you seemed even more charming that day by the confidence you exude.
no, at that point, he’s sure it was painfully obvious. so obvious, in fact, that kaminari and mina had chosen to skip today’s group study session in favor of letting the two of you have your “alone time”. whatever that could mean.
shinsou had grimaced over their excuse of “being too busy that day” when you had told him the reasoning they gave you over text, despite knowing their next exam was only a couple days away. recalling just how nosy and enthusiastic they could get when involved in these kinds of affairs, he had an inkling of what exactly those two were planning. you, on the other hand, seemed completely oblivious to their schemes.
however, what did latch onto your mind was the thought of spending the day with only shinsou, in his very room, sitting across from each other with your textbooks open in front of you. though you should be more attentive to your studies, you couldn’t help the palpitations beating loudly in your chest and your wandering eyes that snuck glances at him after every question you answered.
unbeknownst to you, shinsou mirrored your actions all the same, reciprocating the flustered behavior, albeit a bit more subtly.
keep calm, hitoshi. why are you getting all worked up? he would say to himself, putting on his usual facade.
although he came off as relatively calm and collected on the outside, it’s difficult to keep his emotions in check when actions never lie.
that was especially true as he reached his hand out for the eraser you two were sharing between each other. with his eyes continuing to gander down at his notes, he hadn’t noticed that you were lunging for the same thing—not until your fingers had suddenly touched and you both pulled away at a speed equivalent to making contact with fire.
his stare unfaltering, shinsou was surprised to discern the embarrassed look on your face that immediately fixed itself as you rummaged through your pencil pouch. a second later, you pulled out another eraser, one that was notably smaller than the one you were sharing.
“um.. i’ll just use this,” you offered, and shinsou rubbed the back of his neck, the whole situation more awkward than it needed to be considering you never had any trouble sharing your supplies with each other before.
through some examination of your demeanor, shinsou had made a… bold enough claim, thinking that maybe—just maybe—you held the same kind of affections for him as he did for you.
it’s like he recalled earlier—actions never lie—and shinsou didn’t let the quiver of your lips or the intense concentration at your work to avoid meeting his gaze go past his head. that’s what spurred him to finally act on his desires.
without warning, he leaned forward on his seat to lay his hand over yours that caught your attention. you met his eyes, astonished to say the least, but more so concerned by how your eyes widened before you were about to open your mouth to ask him what was wrong.
the violet-haired male beats you to your words, voice resonating firmly, “y/n.”
you blinked. “y-yeah..?”
“i know this might be a bit late coming from me, but,” you could feel his hand tighten atop yours, “after exams, do you want to catch a movie together? just the two of us?”
shinsou fought the urge to look away, bashful at how he made his declaration for your time. the warmth surging under his skin was alleviated at the smile that slowly curled on your lips as you rotate your wrist, your palm touching his. the expression washing over your features told him you’ve been waiting for him to ask you this for a while now.
“i’d love to.”
Tumblr media
AMAJIKI TAMAKI
ever a shy and introverted individual, tamaki has never had the heart to ask you out despite years of harboring a crush on you.
every time the thought had crossed his mind, he’d reason poorly with himself that you wouldn’t be interested in him in that way.
it didn’t help that his low self-esteem only deepened that thought that had now rooted itself in his brain.
at such a prestigious school like u.a., you were bound to find someone far more compelling than him—someone with guts, confidence, and great social skills. not a guy like him who conjures the image of potatoes at every anxiety-inducing encounter he comes across.
he was relieved enough to settle himself comfortably as just your friend—a title that allowed him to stay close and keep within your circle, all the while subjecting him to simply admiring you from afar.
but his eyes that held a hidden longing for more weren’t overlooked by a fellow student of his. or to be precise, the ever curious and free-spirited, hadou nejire.
always aware of his surroundings, it was hard not to notice that peculiar stare she’d aim at him during moments where he might’ve just finished speaking to you, or when you’d pass by and his head would naturally drift in your direction.
it was like she was picking apart every detail laid on him and it made tamaki absolutely restless.
tamaki’s suspicions and anxiety were later raised during one instance at the lunch table. he was at his usual seat next to his other big three companions, mirio and the aforementioned nejire, who was eyeing him with a gleam in her eye.
even with his self-consciousness, tamaki did his best not to pay any mind to the undesired attention and munched on his plate of takoyaki—the octopus nestled in the batter sure to come in handy later in training that day.
to his dismay, you passed by their table with your tray of food in hand, and nejire did not waste any time calling you over in that cheery tone of hers.
she invited you to sit down with them. you gave her invitation some thought before ultimately placing yourself in the free spot next to mirio, with nejire and tamaki already seated across from you.
the girl was all smiles and hums while tamaki was in a state of distress, both at his friend’s odd behavior, which was starting to spell trouble, to having you pulled into all of this. mirio was just being mirio, welcoming as always.
you greeted everyone at the table, making eye contact with mirio and nejire, but tamaki evaded your line of sight. he simply waved his reply without breaking away from his balls of takoyaki.
luckily for him, you didn’t give his lack of words much thought and started digging into your own lunch. it was then that nejire found it appropriate to start up a conversation.
“y’know, y/n, i’ve been meaning to ask you this, from one girl to another,” she mused, finger waving around playfully, “are you interested in anyone here?”
upon hearing her question, tamaki almost choked on his bonito flakes, his cheeks puffed and eyes blown. meanwhile, your chewing slowed as you gave your answer some thought.
“uh… well–”
“i’d say fujita from class d is quite the looker! think you’d be interested in them?”
after swallowing the food in his mouth, tamaki began to subconsciously listen in on the conversation. he paid close attention to your responses with bated breath, a small part of him anticipating your answer highly.
“fujita’s nice and all, but i don’t think we’d really get along as a couple.”
tamaki mentally sighed, relief evident all over his face. it was then that mirio had started fitting the pieces together after watching his close friend’s brow wrinkle throughout the entire exchange before finally relaxing at your words. crossing his eyes with nejire’s only confirmed his suspicions as the girl sent him a wink.
as a friend, mirio wasn’t about to let nejire’s operations fall flat. getting up from his seat, he motioned tamaki to come with him.
“i heard they have extra yakisoba bread right now! we should go check it out!” he said as a guise to give the other two time to themselves, free from tamaki’s prying ears.
unaware that mirio had caught on so quickly, tamaki didn’t object to tagging along with him. mostly because he thought of this as an opportunity to get some fresh air and calm his racing heart, finally feeling the effects of the blood rushing to his face.
with tamaki supposedly out of earshot, nejire was free to go about her questions however she wanted.
“okay then, if not fujita, then who? there has to be someone, right?” the girl scooted further in her seat out of pure curiosity. “tell me, is it perhaps someone in our class?”
it was your turn to be stricken by her boldness. you tried picking at your food, stuffing it into your mouth to avoid answering, but nejire’s tenacity outmatched you.
finishing your lunch, you opened your mouth to speak, “actually, the person i’m interested in is pretty close to you…”
nejire feigned ignorance, innocently placing a finger under her chin. “who? mirio?”
“ah no, it’s tamaki, alright?!” you ended up blurting, voice hushed but frantic.
bingo. hearing exactly what she wanted, nejire returned to her original position, a triumphant grin plastered on her lips. replaying what you said out loud in your head, you buried your warm face in your hands.
unbeknownst to you, tamaki had ended up hearing the whole exchange around the corner coming back to their table as mirio lightly snickered at his revelation of an expression.
the blond patted his shoulder. “go on then, you know what to do.” he threw tamaki an encouraging thumbs-up.
the boy gulped in response before inhaling a deep breath of air to prepare himself for what would arguably be the most important yet stress-inducing moment of his life so far.
noticing you getting up to discard your tray, tamaki—through a final push from mirio—went to make his move.
hearing him suddenly call out to you, you were caught off-guard. after admitting to your crush on tamaki to nejire, you felt your cheeks get hot just seeing his face right afterward.
“oh hey, did you get your hands on those yakisoba breads?” you scraped up a way to start the conversation.
“right... that… mirio managed to get the last one in the cafeteria,” he answered. then he brought his hand to rub his elbow, fidgeting in his spot as he found it difficult to look you in the eyes again.
“tamaki? something wrong? are you upset that he got the last yakisoba bread?”
he shook his head. “no, i… it’s just… i’ve been meaning to ask you this for a long time now, but never had the courage to say it to you because i didn’t think you ever liked me that way. but…” he finally mustered the determination to face you head-on. “would you go out with me, y/n?”
at first, you were speechless—absent of words as you relayed his request in your mind over and over again. then, your eyes softened, lips easing into a smile as you reached out for his hand.
“i thought you’d never ask.”

TODOROKI SHOUTO
it’s no surprise to many that when it came to asking someone out, todoroki didn’t exactly know the first thing to do.
mostly because he’s never asked anyone out to begin with.
you were the first person he’s ever felt these kinds of emotions for, and to be frank, he wasn’t sure what to make of everything that had been going through him when that root of infatuation had started to bloom inside him.
rather than sulk or contemplate on his thoughts for too long, he surmised it was best to simply come clean and ask for advice.
but when he confessed to what had been on his mind lately, he wasn’t expecting such a vigorous response from his friends.
“i’ve been thinking about asking y/n out.”
there was a layer of uncomfortable silence amongst the group before all hell eventually broke loose.
midoriya, uraraka, and iida immediately sprung from their seats in the common room, yelling “what?!” in unison. tsuyu and her frog-like mannerisms were more idle, but still surprised nonetheless.
todoroki was unfazed by their reactions, actually expecting it to go that way considering he’s never brought up any topics of that nature before. at the very least, he’s thankful he decided to say this when it was just the five of them. compared to what the whole class’s reaction would have been like, this was incredibly tame.
todoroki was used to always listening to what others had to say and never being the subject of the conversation when it came to dating.
but now things were different. he was openly admitting to them that he was regarding someone romantically. that he possibly sought a relationship with this someone—wanting to be committed to them and become the very best person he could be right next to them. to the four, this was coming completely out of left field.
after everyone simmered down and let the news sink in, the dual-haired boy resumed his thought,
“but i’m not sure how to do it.”
though the entirety of the group never had any experiences when it came to dating, they knew enough from media and pop culture to get an idea on how to help him. more than todoroki could imagine on his own anyway.
“i know! how about we go with the romantic and suave approach!” uraraka suggested. the rest asked her to elaborate.
“it’s simple! it starts by you leaving a note on her desk right before class, saying to meet you on the rooftop of the school! before the designated time, you should wait there for her with a bouquet of flowers, and then when she arrives, confess your feelings and ask her out!”
midoriya rubbed a finger against his cheek, skeptical. “i don’t think that sounds as simple as you’re making it out to be.”
tsuyu chimed in beside him. “those kinds of ideas usually only work well in books, ochako.”
pursing her lips, uraraka gave her plan a once-over, and realized it did seem a bit more involved and out of character than what todoroki was used to.
despite sharing a few more ideas with one another, they couldn’t narrow it down to any perfect one.
that was when iida clapped his hand, bringing everyone’s attention to him.
“alright, i think we’re starting to blow this whole ‘operation’ way out of proportion,” he said.
“if you’re honest about the way you feel about her and show it sincerely, i’m sure she’ll consider your feelings. you don’t have to do anything extravagant when it comes to asking someone out.”
listening throughout every word, todoroki nodded. meanwhile the other three were astonished that their class representative could be so whimsical when it came to romance, which in turn, iida was conflicted by. however, at the very least he was glad they could help out a friend. and so, todoroki went about his day with their discussion in mind.
he found that in many occurrences, whenever he crossed by you and thought of it as a chance to ask you out, there would always be someone to come in and take your time away. leaving him to stand there awkwardly before dismissing the fated question for later.
eventually, the sky dimmed and evening arrived, and by then, the whole class was already back at their dormitory and about to have dinner.
through some rather convenient circumstances, you two were actually assigned on kitchen duty that night.
“it’s been getting pretty cold lately so i was thinking we should cook up a hot pot for everyone.” you gave your idea to him as you pulled out some ingredients from the fridge, waiting for his reply, but it came a few seconds later than you were expecting.
“right. sounds like a good idea,” todoroki answered a tad late. upon realizing it was only going to be the two of you making dinner tonight, his mind was occupied by what he and his friends spoke about earlier.
that was when he started overthinking the situation and absentmindedly half-assed his work.
“todoroki, the cut on the tofu is slightly uneven.” you reviewed his cutting board. looking down, he saw the inconsistent slices of tofu limp in front of him. if bakugou were the executive chef for the evening, he would’ve had to hear an earful from him.
“sorry…” he apologized quietly, reaching out for another cube of tofu to cut.
“is everything okay? i know you’re still learning how to cook, but i’ve seen you show some significant improvement on your knife skills recently.” you voiced your concern for him.
the white and red-haired boy stared at the white bean curd while hearing your worried tone and couldn’t find it within himself to continue the task. it was now or never he thought. he laid the knife flat on the cutting board.
“actually, i wanted to ask you something.” he turned toward you. “do you… want to go out with me?”
nothing but the sound of the fire running on the stove could be heard in the kitchen. todoroki didn’t move his eyes away from you, watching you nearly drop the plate of siu choy and shiitake mushrooms out of shock as your mouth was hanging open.
when you caught onto your bearings, you let out a small laugh. “oh… i… wasn’t expecting that,” you admitted honestly, placing the ingredients on the counter safely.
the boy furrowed his brows. “is that a no?”
“n-no! i mean that isn’t my answer! i–” you fumbled with your words, cheeks warming up now that his confession had finally sunk in. in the meantime, todoroki found your reaction quite amusing. the corner of his lip quirked into a grin.
“what i mean to say is that yes, i’d love to go out with you.” you accepted the offer wholeheartedly. todoroki would be lying if his heart wasn’t throbbing from anticipation. he’s glad he’s able to rest and put that aside.
“now let’s continue making this hot pot together!” you cheered, smiling widely and he found comfort in your words before resuming slicing the tofu.
