whisper
( prince nuada x you ) author's note : rewatching movies from your childhood is all fun and games until your crush on this guy resurrects itself from the dead with no warning and you're like "oh no. I have to yearn over him for a while" word count : 1112
it had been a long time, since the path of Prince Nuada had crossed with yours.
A millennia, he would say, had anyone asked. A millennia, three days and thirty four minutes to be certain. He would know, right down to the very passing second, because he began counting them the moment you disappeared from his line of sight. He had not stopped in all his years of exile, nor did it ever occur to him to do so.
When he does finally see you again, after all these agonizing years, you're glowing under starlight, face tipped up to bask in moonbeams falling down around you like a soul laid bare before a lover in the dawns early light.
Much like he would lay himself at your feet, before.
He falters. Stops mid-step as his chest constricts, lungs emptying out on a sigh folding into a passing breeze.
You're beautiful.
He had not forgotten, yet he always knew memory would never hold a candle to flesh and blood and bone as it lived and breathed right within his reach. Yet he remembers now, just how much the mind can lie. You're beautiful, bathed in starborn glimmers, lips tilting up and spreading wide as teeth part and music fills the air all around him.
"I wondered if you'd keep your promise."
The breath of Prince Nuada returns with a hush, a sudden inhale to quell the unsteady beating of his heart.
"Did you truly doubt I would return to you?"
It was spoken in jest, yet a thread of truth found life woven through his soft tone delivering quiet words like a prayer. You? Doubt his devotion? The mere thought of ever gifting his heart to another - it ran him through a hundred times, the jagged blade of a life he refused to live - for there was no him without you.
Teeth flash in the night, and suddenly you're facing him, your prince, your heart, your Nuada. Eyes meet for the first time in a millennia, and that's all it takes for him to remember how to move, how to breathe, how to go to you - because being by your side had always come easy, especially when everything else had not.
"It's been a long time, Nuada. Everything can change in the blink of an eye."
His name leaves your lips and he can't look away, even as the knife you've slipped between his ribs twists with the grip of your words on the hilt. He feels so impossibly weak under the weight of your gaze, adoration slowly poisoned by the sting of his departure.
Starlight glitters in your eyes, wide and glassy as they never leave his, softening, melting, smiling as Nuada slips a warm, calloused hand into yours. Lips brush your knuckles in a kiss so gentle - then again and again, lingering, lingering, lingering.
He doesn't want to let go, does not want his lips to leave your skin, nor does he wish to pull his hand away from yours. It has been so long since he felt at home; he did not want to leave the warm touch welcoming him back from his years spent searching.
His heart knows this dance. His body remembers the steps, and his mind remembers how your heart will thaw in his palm once more, because you've always given it back to him, even when you swore you never would.
"Not everything, my love," he says to you, hand slipping to lace with your own. The other, ghosts along your jaw aching to close the distance you've become careful to keep. "My oath to you remains, as it always has. As it always will."
A laugh falls through your lips then, all soft petals and saccharine sweet song. A splash of guilt slashes through your resolve when Nuada's steadfast gaze frays at the edges in torment as you play with your food.
"My darling Prince," the words spill out on the remnants of a laugh, a balm on Nuada's scarring heart. "We couldn't be apart forever, even if we tried."
You're so, so, beautiful, he thinks, as you hold his aching heart in your hand. Hears the low pulse of its beating echo behind the cadence of your voice. It makes a den within the words you whisper inspiring his lips to tilt up in a way that mirrors your own. His name is on your lips and he can barely breathe, this crown prince of Bethmoora.
It's been centuries, since he's last kissed you. A millennia and three days and thirty two minutes since he's last held you in his arms, since he was close enough to see the intricacies of the shade of your eyes, or trace your cheekbone down your jaw, along your neck, and down, down, down, to rest on your hip for him to pull you close, closer, closest - flush against him with absolutely nowhere else to go, no way to break free.
Prince Nuada falters, but hesitates no longer when starlight frees you from its grasp as you lean forward to cup his jaw, featherlight. Every word dies in his throat as lips press against lips, and all space between you disappears.
He sighs into the kiss, relaxing, for the first time in eons. You're familiar, and he relishes in all the memories that still ring true - namely how you pull away breathless with swollen lips to match his.
Perhaps it would serve him to be cautious, after all this time. There is wisdom in your words, he knows; time is capable of changing everything. It's capable of changing nothing. Just like he, who has wanted nothing but greatness for his kingdom, for his people, has wanted to remain by your side for all of eternity and what comes after.
But you, he knows, could be either - and you had always been his weakness. He wonders if he should not have told you it was so, before he left.
The whisper grows in volumes and shivering intensity as he kisses you once more, pushing treacherous thoughts aside when your hands glide up into his hair and tug him close, closer, closest, until there's no more room for anything in his mind other than how you feel against his skin or how you taste on his tongue. Nothing else exists, except this moment under the stars, on a night you thought would never come.
You will walk together along the shores of the Earth again, and it will be done until the end of his reign. Nothing else will exist, except a future that thrives.
The Golden Army will make sure of it.

Baby daddy -W2S
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
words: 0.9k+
warnings: angst, unplanned pregnancy.
summary: after a one night stand you find yourself pregnant with Harry’s baby, you go to Faith for advice then tell Harry. But how does he react?
notes: hello my loves😚. Here’s the request! I love this idea and I hope you all enjoy🧸🫶🏼
Tumblr media
"No. There's no way. I'm gonna do another one." My brain rambled as I stared at the pregnancy test. I reached for the small box. It's empty. Within thirty minutes I had used the entire box, all positive. "This can't be happening. I can't be pregnant." I thought, in complete denial. I didn't know what to do with myself. It's not just any normal night I can't just eat dinner and go to sleep. I just found out that I'm pregnant with my friend's baby. I barely slept that night.
A week later I was still trying to process the news. I knew exactly when it had happened. One night (around five weeks ago) I went out with everyone for Freya's birthday. We all got really drunk and I had been touch deprived for so long that somehow I ended up waking up in Harry's apartment, next to him in his bed. Thankfully he was still asleep when I woke so I grabbed my things and bolted. We had completely ignored the fact that we had sex and since no one knew it wasn't really a problem. Until now.
I decided that I needed to talk to someone. I couldn't keep this bottled up for another second or I felt as though I might explode. Faith is who I choose to tell. I know I can trust her and she's my only friend who's actually a mum. "Hey. Are you free anytime today? x" I asked via text. She replied quickly. "Ethan's filming so I'm here with Olive all day. Do you wanna come here? xx" I let out a sigh of relief. "That would be great! I'll see you in 30 xx" "Come through the glass door. It'll be unlocked xx"
I quickly got ready into a sweat set, brushed my hair into a ponytail then grabbed my phone and left. I drove to Faith's house and in just twenty minutes was waiting for her to open the gate. Once I'd parked I hoped from the car. I walked round the house to the glass doors. Then slid it open. I heard Rolo barking then Faith came shuffling into the lounge. "Hi! How've you been?" She pulled me into a quick hug. "Uhm, pretty good." I replied. She furrowed her brows. "What's up?" Uncontrollable tears welled in my eyes. "Oh my god. Come sit." She led me over to the couch.
"Ok start from the beginning." She said once I had calmed down. I took a deep breath. "So you know when we went out for Freya's birthday?" "Mhm." She nodded. "Well I- um- I ended up at Harry's apartment." Her brows furrowed. "I barely remember it but I know we- you know-" "you had sex with Harry?!" She exclaimed.
"Wow. Have you talked about it since?" She asked. "No but I didn't come round to tell you about that." Her face contorted into confusion. "Oh, what did you want to talk about?" She softened. My eyes fluttered closed. "I'm pregnant." I whispered. She went silent. "Congratulations?" She wasn't sure what to say. "Thanks. I uh- I don't really know how to feel." "And it's Harry's?" I nodded. "Well you know I'm here if you need absolutely anything." I smiled lightly at her. "I know." She pulled me into a warm hug.
After I talked to Faith I decided it was time to tell Harry. He deserves to know. But I booked a doctor's appointment first, to one hundred percent confirm that I'm pregnant. I hadn't really had any symptoms other than the fact I had missed my period, which is why I took the test. After a quick blood test the nurse confirmed it. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I had been in complete denial the entire time and this made it real, I'm going to be a mother.
It was almost two weeks after I had found out when me and Harry eventually saw each other. I sent him a text and he had agreed to come round to my apartment. I hadn't told him much just that I needed to talk. When he arrived my heartbeat sped up and my palms began to sweat. I opened the door after taking a deep breath. I smiled lightly at him. "Hi. Come in." I stepped aside. He awkwardly walked in. We sat on my couch.
In seconds I blurted out "I'm pregnant." His mouth dropped open and the room fell silent. "You- what?" He stuttered. "I'm pregnant Harry." I repeated. He swallowed. "And it's mine?" I nodded. "Uh- I- wow." I didn't know what to do, he wasn't talking this very well. "Listen, I don't expect anything from you. I just thought you should know." I spoke softly. "I just- I-" suddenly he jumped from the sofa and bolted out of my apartment. I burst into tears. I really thought- well I wasn't sure what I thought.
I told Faith about the incident and she attempted to comfort me. "He just needs to process it. Like you did. He'll come around. Give him time." She had said. That calmed me and almost a week went by with nothing until I got a knock on my door. I pushed myself from the sofa, that I'd been sat on all day since I wasn't feeling the best. I froze when I saw Harry standing outside my door. He didn't give me time to say a word. "y/n please forgive me. I'm so sorry. I don't know why I reacted like that. I want to do this with you. I want to be a dad." He said quickly. A smile spread across my face. Then I stepped forward pulling his nervous frame into a soft hug.
Years later me and Harry sat in our beautiful house watching our two young kids playing together. Reminiscing about what brought us to this moment. Happy, content and in love.

Hi, love your stories and had an idea to share!
A story where someone in the Mystery Trio (maybe Fidds, idk) regresses at a very inconvenient time? And they try to hide it or push it off or pretend it's fine while they are very much panicking because they don't even know what triggered it. When the other two pick up on it, the Little cries about how they didn't mean to and the others comfort them?
Anyway, no hurry to do anything with this! Take your time if you choose to write it. I know you're probably a bit busy.
Take care!
~ ☀️
I'm so sorry this one took so long @sunflowerdrabbles ! Writer's block hit me and hit me hard! I would come and just stare at my computer, getting a sentence or two done. TBH, I'm not the happiest with what I wrote, too. I'm deeply sorry if the vision you had in mind wasn't captured! Hopefully now that I've had a little break from school and the weather is warming up, this awful writer's block can go away, I have so many draft I WANT to work on. To those who are still here, thank you for sticking around, I really appreciate it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for requesting this, I did love it and love working on it, even though it took me so long. I hope you all enjoy reading it!

"Ya' sure you're okay to go, bubs?" Bubba-Stanely asked, concerned about Fiddleford's headspace. Which was completely misplaced concern because he's fine, he's Big and can go play-go on a research hike with Stan and Ford. Because he's an adult with an adult mind and is perfectly capable of traversing through the woods looking for fae and goblins.
"It's perfectly fine if you don't feel up to it-urk!" Stan elbowed Ford, glaring slightly at him for his words. "I'm-I meant if you're feeling close to dropping. We wouldn't want anything to happen to you out in the field. We can do this another day-" Fiddleford isn't going to let his friend finish.
"I said I'm fine. I'm not little, I ain't even close to it! I'm feeling perfectly fine. Now. Can we go?" Fiddleford gestures towards the open door, his pack ready and on his back. He doesn't need to be handled with kiddie gloves, he's a grown man. He was looking forward to this trip, too. Apparently there's some sort of metal deposit in the area that'd be fantastic for his latest robotics project, and Fiddleford just can't wait to get his hands on it. Well, more accurately, he's been waiting months and can't wait any longer. That's the only reason he's so ready to go, not the thoughts in his head screaming at him to act his age.
With out a backwards glance, Fiddleford practically stomps out of the Shack, eager to prove how capable he is in that moment, not feeling Small and all such. Stan and Ford trade a long glance behind his back, silently promising the other that they'll keep an eye on Fidds, then more reluctantly follow him out. Fiddleford stops at the edge of a the woods, impatiently tapping his foot. The twins are taking forever to get here, typically he's the one dragging his feet, and Ford was the one who was the most excited for this yesterday! It's because they think he's hovering in-between headspaces, that it's not safe for him, a full grown adult, to come. Normally, he'd agree with them, but for some reason, their doubts about his headspace and capability are just making him upset. Fiddleford'll show them, he can do this, he can be Big and go search out devil creatures with his friends. He's got this.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
Okay. Maybe he doesn't have this after all.
It was all going so well, Fiddleford was enjoying himself, he only tripped and got scared and hid behind Stan a few times! Until some giant sort of chimera creature jumped them, it was snarling and frothing at the mouth and so scary. Stan and Ford were figuring out ways to fight it, but Fiddleford's already frayed nerves snapped and he ran. He ran until he couldn't breath, hiding behind a twisty and creepy looking tree. He didn't even realize he was crying until he collapsed on the ground. He also realized he was dropping. Hard. And quickly.
Great, this was just what he needed. To be hiding, scared, and crying. All Fidds wanted to do was, was what? Prove he wasn't a scaredy-cat, that he could keep up with them on the research and expeditions? They already knew that, Stan and Ford. No, what he really wanted to do was to prove he could be an adult. To act like one when he needs to, when the time comes. To prove his nasty thoughts wrongs. And look how that turned out for him. He just wants to go home, get into some jammies, and curl up with Bubba and Stanford.
Fidds feels the tear drops labs on his hands, his lips quiver as he tries and fails to hold back his sobs. He’s scared and all alone, he wants comfort. Comfort from his stuffies and from his favorite people. He wants-
“Fidds? Hon is that you!?” It’s Bubba! It’s Bubba’s voice coming from behind his hidey spot! He’s come to save him and take him home where Uncle Stanford can fix him up and Bubba can kiss his boo boos!
“Bubba! ‘M h-here, Bubba!” He calls, not moving from his spot. Uncle Stanford always told him that if he gets lost when Small that he has to stay where he is and wait for him or Bubba to find him. Fidds figures that using his outside voice is still okay, especially if it helps them find him. “Right here Bubba!” He hopes they find him fast, he got scrapes and scratches from running and they sting real bad.
“Fidds! Finally found ya’, we was looking everywhere for you, sweetie.” Bubba rounds the tree, his brow furrowed, but not in an angry way, in a worried way. He was scared. Scared for Fidds. And doesn't that just make him feel even worse, his sobs increasing in force and volume.
"Stanley! Stanley, did you find him? Is he okay?" Uncle Stanford, he's found him, too! Fidds reaches his hands up, still crying, needing to be picked up and held. His feet hurt and his legs feel like wobbly jelly, he doesn't think he can walk back home. He sniffles as Bubba picks him him and moves him around until he's being held in a piggy back ride, Uncle Stanford behind him with a six-fingered hand patting his back. Fidds sniffles some more, his eyes drying up now that he's with his caregivers, the terribly guilty feeling of making them worry and get upset at him clawing up his throat.
"Y' mad at me?" He asked in a soft voice, hiding his face in Bubba's shoulder, he can't see either of their faces from this angle, but it brings him comfort to hide his face away like this.
"Mad? Oh, Lil' Man no, of course we ain't mad at ya'. 0-or upset with ya'." Bubba's hands tighten around Fidds' legs, hiking him further up his back.
"Grammar aside, Stanley's right, F. We aren't upset with you, we were so worried when you ran away, these are dangerous woods even in a group." Uncle Stanford takes breathes, his hand gripping Fidds' shirt tightly, "Please never do that again, I don't think my heart could take it."
Oh, he did make them upset. Not the mad kind, but the worried kind. That made his chest ache and his eyes sting worse than the thought of making them mad. Fidds couldn't help his lips wobbling and breath going funny. His sobs start again, silent and hiccuping.
" 'M sorry, I didn't mean ta' run away. Was-hic-was jus-jus scared by the-and I. I j-just," He can barely speak wiping his eyes on Bubba's shoulder. "I w-wan'ed to come and be-be Big because-hic-because-" He feels like such a bad boy, worrying his Bubba and Uncle Stanford like that. He shouldn't have gone with them. He was so stupid! " 'M a bad boy..."
"No! You're not a bad boy, not at all Fiddleford McGucket! You are sweet and kind and good beyond measure!" Stanford stopped Stan with a hand on his shoulder and turned him around, ducking his head to make eye contact with Fiddleford. "You are such a good boy, Fiddleford, even when you make mistakes or you misbehave on purpose, you'll always be good." Stanford sounded resolute, his eyes firm. His hand left Stan's shoulder to rest gently of Fiddleford's, petting gently at it.
"Yeah, Bud. We get it, you wanted to come with us, but we wouldn't mind postponing this-uh-little "outing" 'till you felt, well, uh. Not so small?" Stan piped up, his neck craned to look at Fiddleford, his nose brushing his cheek and his eyes soft.
"B-but you woulda' had'ta w-watch cartoons n' play games with me. An' other kid stuff. An' I'mma adult. B-but I can be big-"
"We know you are and we know you can be, Fiddleford, but we-Stanley and I love you. It doesn't matter if sometimes you're feeling too-too scared or too small to engage in more adult or dangerous aspects of our work, we would gladly spend a day playing with you."
"Yeah, what Sixer said. Little Man," Bubba sets him down on the ground before sitting down himself and maneuvering until Fidds was sitting in his lap, "Fiddleford, we love hangin' out with you, adult or not. Because it's you we're with. Don' matter what we do; Tinkering' with your creepy ass-uh ignore that word-doomsday bots or playing jacks. 'Sides I like watching cartoons with ya'." Stan crushed Fidds to his chest and noogied his hair.
"R-really? Even though-though I can't-um-I can't-" It's hard for Fidds to get the words out of his mouth, something he always has trouble with when the world feels too big for him.
"It doesn't matter what you can or cannot do, what limitations you may have; you're not just our friend, Fiddleford, you're family to Stanley and I, so none of that matters." Stanford pulls Fiddleford's face to meet his, needing his friend to see the sincerity in his eyes. "Any time we spend with you is time spent well. Not a waste or boring or any other such nonsense your brain tells you. Okay, F?"
Fidds' eyes sting with tears, good tears this time, not those stupid sad and scared tears from earlier, as he pulls Uncle Stanford into the tightest hug he can manage. The tightest one in the whole wide world. Bubba pets the back of his head and rocks them, Uncle Stanford's hands are returning Fidds' super strong hug with one of his own, squeezing his sides tightly. Tight enough to make his whole body relax against him and Bubba, their hands and bodies holding him up in a loving embrace.
Why was he so worked up in the first place? Why would he listen to those mean and nasty thoughts? Of course Bubba and Uncle Stanford wouldn't be upset if he was little, they said it themselves, they're family. And he loves his family oh so much.

Heyyy!! I read your saiki k headcanons, and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I noticed you mentioned something about kusuo's lack of self-acceptance?? And how you think he's good angst material?? And honestly, I'm a sucker for protagonist angst so maybe could you drop some hcs about that? Or just expand on that idea?? Thanks xx
late answer because tumblr didn’t notify me about this ask 😭 love you btw anon, i would love to talk at as many people as possible about saiki angst despite not being very coherent right now and i will be doing it!!!!
ok so we see a lot in the series that saiki doesn’t believe anyone could really love him.
examples of this: saying that his love meter ability that has never not worked before must be “broken” when it shows that his parents also have that crazy high number for him (+ considering their love for him second place to their love for each other since he was BORN??), always denying the idea that he could have meaningful relationships (specifically friendships but literally any) on the basis that he is “too different” from other people despite having his reasoning proven wrong literally all of the time, insisting that teruhashi’s feelings for him don’t come from her actually liking him (along with yumehara and aiura’s but we don’t see it as much), not believing that kuusuke didn’t hate him, etc.
to me, it’s pretty obvious that he’s fallen into the same trap a lot of people do at some point. he can’t wrap his head around people liking/loving him, because he does not like/love himself. the same goes for hiding his powers in a way; of course there’s the overarching reason that he doesn’t want to bring all the trouble of being known to have all of these psychic powers onto himself, but i think there’s a bit more underlying that than how it appears. he does not truly accept that part of him, so he can’t imagine anyone else would either.
like i said before, it’s this non-acceptance that leads to his obsession with appearing average/normal, and why if he fulfilled the wish of being completely average i don’t think it would make him actually happy. it’s like when you don’t want to admit you’re trans so you go even harder with appearing cis kinda?? yea. but because what he really wants is a world that will accept him, he changed the standards of a normal appearance/thinking speed/regeneration speed rather than changing himself to meet those standards
i think that both the lack of self acceptance and of self love come mostly from things that happened during his formative years. my favorite ones to explore are 1. him accidentally hurting akechi with his rage when they were kids and 2. kuusuke calling him a monster because why would you fucking say that kuusuke go sit in a corner and think about what you did. but those aren’t the only ones, there’s a lot going on there tbh
i hope this was satisfactory if you’re seeing this anon! i am about to pass out on my phone but i choose this over sleeping 🫶

I just wanted to say how much I loved this new chapter (nothing new). Reading through Ollie's perspective is my favorite and never disappoints!
I find his relationship with his parents very intriguing. I can't wait to see how you describe Felix and the reader meeting with his parents.
Also I haven't read Emma, I'd like to know why Ollie felt off seeing the book??!
And sleepy/high reader is so damn endearing
and I'm so excited to see how Ollie's going to win Saltburn's heart ❤️‍🔥
Awww, thank you darling!! I love writing Ollie's perspective, I think it's endlessly interesting getting to see the story and characters we love from a completely different angle. My personal favourite part of Oliver's POV's currently is the way he has completely misinterpreted the weird clues he's gotten about the reader's family life. Im sure that will never come back to haunt any of them (sarcasm).
But I too am quite endeared by Oliver's recollections of his family. My version of Ollie has him as the youngest of three, with two older sisters. Oliver was born into an incredibly normal home, and somewhere along the way he's developed these delusions of grandeur that leave him craving the kind of life Felix & Reader have. But there are moments, here and there, where he reflects on what connections he had formed within his family, and I don't think he dislikes the individuals as much as he dislikes the situation in which they lived. Completely and utterly mundane, to Oliver, which he found intolerable in the end.
I'm so excited about Fi & Reader meeting his parents; it's very different to the film. I will say that they find out about Oliver's deception much earlier than in the film, and that's where canon fully splits. The visit home isn't going to be nearly as painful in h,h,h. <3
As for Emma and the Poe book, the Poe short stories are both something I think reader would suggest for Oliver, something that they'd read themselves as they've been established as an appreciator of poetry, and to tie it in to the epilogue of 'he wanted to be in love but you got in the way' where it's a lot more thematically relevant, but mentioned that it was in the drawer next to oliver's bed. As for Emma, that was the book the reader had been reading aloud the night they slept with Oliver. the last line they'd read to him had been -
"Seldom, very seldom does complete truth belong to any human disclosure; seldom can it happen that something is not a little disguised or a little mistaken."
And you're so right. Sleepy/high reader is cute as fuck. I love them very much.
Sorry I didn't respond before now, I'm finally back at my laptop, working on the next chapter and answering some lovely asks xx

Do you think there is a slight connection with odagiri and fukumoto with yuuki?
I'm so sorry for the late reply! I completely missed this ask!
As for your question...
it's hard to say.
Although here the three of them are depicted together...
Tumblr media
This normally doesn't happen.
We know that Yuuki 'saved' Odagiri when the latter was arrested for 'insubordination' and was likely going to lose his rank and be discharged from the army with dishonor.
Yuuki: Are you the one they called "untrainable?" Any plans for after you quit the army? Odagiri: Good question. Maybe I'll move to Manchuria and become a roving bandit… Yuuki: If you feel up to it, come take my exam.
The novels make clear Yuuki made an exception when he took Odagiri in his agency.
The people D Agency chose were “civilians”. When D Agency had just began, this policy of Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki caused an uproar within the army, but Tobisaki was an exception. Starting at Military Preparatory School, then experiencing Imperial Japanese Army Academy, and finally being appointed as army second lieutenant, he could be considered as a “purebred” army officer. (XX translation by @unnagi)
In the anime it's implied he also sent him to Manchuria because Nogami Yuriko will move there.
In the novel things are different as Nogami Yuriko is the culprit and Odagiri is assigned in noth China.
“Your new place of assignment is Northern China. Apparently you’ll be a First Lieutenant.”
Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki said so half-heartedly. Needlessly to say, Tobisaki already knew the meaning behind his words. D Agency handled confidential matters of the army, including illegal affairs. Naturally, the military couldn’t let someone who “knew too much of the inside story” live on. Tobisaki’s new place of assignment was probably the battlefront that was raining in bullets at this very moment.
— First give him a promotion, then a place to bury him.
This was the cruel “considerate plan” of the army. Tobisaki accepted the transfer order in accordance with the rules, placing it under his arm and turning around, when he was just planning to step out of the room… Someone from the back was calling him by his real name. He turned to look back, only to see Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki had stood up from the seat, his right hand in front of his forehead, he was doing a military salute in front of Tobisaki for the first time.
“You cannot die.” (XX translation by @unnagi)
So Yuuki's only kindness is telling him he can't die as a way to encourage him to survive.
As for Fukumoto... we see no interactions between Yuuki and Fukumoto.
The first stage used Fukumoto as kind of Yuuki's secretary if I'm not wrong as he was often the one reporting situations to Yuuki.
I don't know about the second as it was never translated which is too bad.
It's still not much but, I guess, this means fans can interpret things the way they prefer.
Sorry if it's not terribly helpful and thank you for your ask!

Everything seemed normal.
Each person went on with their lives normally, completing the various chores they had to do. There were those who had to buy groceries, those who had to go to work, those who were late for an appointment, those who took their children to play in the park. In short, there seemed to be nothing different from the usual, nothing that could cause concern.
You thought it would be a day like any other. And that’s how it started.
That morning you said goodbye to your boyfriend Jay before he went to work, agreeing you’d meet him – as usual – at lunch. Neither of you imagined what would happen. After all, life was so unpredictable.
Neither of you had certainly foreseen there would be a robbery in the exact same bank you were supposed to go to, neither had foreseen that two hooded men would come in and shoot, ordering everyone to get on their knees and keep their hands behind their heads.
Pure fear. Pure terror. This was what you were feeling at the time, moments when your whole life passed before your eyes as the robbers paced back and forth in the bank. You kept praying with every fiber of your being, you tried to stay positive, and your mind at that moment turned to Jay.
My Jay.
You kept praying and hoping to see him break into that bank but you didn’t even know if he knew about the robbery. You couldn’t stop thinking about what was going to happen and the very thought of never seeing him again, not seeing your family, your friends, made you feel so sick and in that moment you wished so much you’d told them how much you loved them, how much they were important to you.
It was so true that life was always taken for granted.
“Give us all your phones! Now!” one of the two robbers exclaimed as soon as they forced you to stay on your knees. The silence was broken by the cries and sighs of everyone present, the screams of the robbers and their threats to kill you instantly if someone did something they shouldn’t have.
And like this they confiscated all your phones, taking away the hope of being able to secretly ask for help. They had tied up the manager, asked for all the money they could take with them.
You kept taking deep breaths, thinking and rethinking Jay’s words from a conversation you had few months ago.
He was working on a hostage robbery case and you were sitting next to him on the sofa, watching the way he was focused.
“What should we do in these situations?” you asked, just out of pure curiosity, never imagining finding yourself in a similar situation.
“Do whatever the robbers say, don’t try to be a hero. The key is to negotiate, establish a relationship, make them believe you want to help them and you’re on their side. The main goal is always to save as many hostages as possible so you have to get them to trust you, that to get what they want they must also offer something in return. We always try to start with women and children and finally men, but in the meantime we still try to find an intervention strategy, we study the place well, all the available entrances, possible break-in plans, for example whether to do it silently or take them by surprise,” he explained, turning to you and giggling when he noticed your expression between shock and surprise. “These situations require calm and coolness, let’s say these are moments of very high tension”.
“Wow, that’s pretty bad, I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be in this situation, I hope I’ll never have to find out.”
Jay set the case file down on the coffee table and pulled you close, stamping a kiss on your temple. “I don’t even want to imagine this, I don’t know what I could do, I’d probably die”.
And that was exactly how Jay felt when he found out about the robbery. He felt he was dying.
As for you, the morning was going on normally for him too. For some strange reason no murder case had come up and he truly believed that for a very rare time he’d even be able to get home soon. But when he saw Sergeant Platt walking up the Intelligence stairs with an expression on her face that was anything but happy, he knew that state of peace was about to end.
He had no idea what was actually going on.
“There’s a robbery taking place in the Chase Bank, there are at least two attackers with about fifteen hostages” Platt had announced but Jay’s mind had stopped only at the opening words.
Chase Bank.
It couldn’t be true, it couldn’t be happening.
It was the bank you were supposed to go to that morning.
Jay immediately took his cell phone from his pocket and typed your number with fury. His heart was pounding as he prayed you’d answer your phone, he’d hear your voice saying you were still at home, that you were fine. But as your number directed him directly to the voice mail, a sign your cell phone was probably turned off, Jay could no longer maintain control and the more seconds passed the more he felt being swallowed more and more in a chasm.
“Please answer baby… Please, please, please, pick up the phone…” he kept muttering to himself as he kept calling your number over and over, but without receiving any kind of response.
“Jay what’s going on?” Kim asked, noticing the way Jay was worried but he didn’t even seem to hear her. Without waiting for the rest of the team, he immediately rushed down the stairs, aiming to make his way to the bank as soon as possible.
Jay felt like he was dying and never before he felt so disoriented and disoriented, so out of control. He continually tried to call you, to no avail as the call was always going out.
Surrounding the bank were Intelligence, the negotiating team, SWAT, and nearly the entire Chicago police department. The situation was difficult, the tension almost cut with a knife as each agent present tried to work out a strategy to get the hostages out safely and arrest the criminals.
But Jay wasn’t focused, he kept thinking about the possibility you were in there and the thought of not knowing was eating him alive. The thought of knowing you were at the mercy of the robbers, frightened and disoriented, that he was so few meters away from you and couldn’t help you was making him so sick, so helpless. It might have been a selfish thought, but right now he didn’t want to do anything but save you, get you out of that damn bank and hug you.
“We managed to get into the bank’s surveillance system, we have live images of what’s going on inside,” announced one of the IT experts and as Jay looked at the PC screen, his heart was pounding, continuing to hope with every fiber of his being that, by some miracle, you weren’t in the bank that morning. But as soon as he saw you with the other hostages, on your knees with your back turned to the entrance, every bit of hope vanished in the blink of an eye and every worst nightmare turned out to be the harsh reality.
“Fuck!” he exclaimed aloud, kicking a chair that was next to him, seized by despair and anger. He ran his hands over his face, frustrated, enraged and in a throes of emotions. He even decided to go into the bank, wanting to get you out of there at all costs.
“Halstead!” Voight exclaimed when he saw him walking towards the bank, rushing to him and, with Kevin, taking him by his arms in an attempt to calm him down.
“Jay calm down man!” Kevin kept repeating to him but without any success and although he and Voight were both holding him back, doing so turned out to be quite difficult.
“Leave me fucking alone! My girlfriend is in there for fuck’s sake!” Jay kept struggling, trying to escape from Voight and Kevin’s grasp.
“I know kid but that’s not how you’re going to help her! You need to calm down!” Voight spoke.
“Calm down? How can you even tell me to calm down?! My fucking girlfriend is in there with those two crazy sons of a bitch! I need to get in there!”
“Jay! Listen to me! You know how these things work, we need to make contact with those robbers. Breaking in now could only result in mass killing! You know this” Kevin continued immediately after “I know it’s hard to stay here, but this is the only chance we have to get everyone out without injuries, we have to work as if it were any other case.”
Those words, instead of trying to calm Jay down, on the contrary, infuriated him even more. “Don’t fucking tell me to work like this was any other damn case! This is my fucking girlfriend we’re talking about, it will never be any other case!”
Jay walked away from them, not even waiting for an answer. He was aware of it, he knew the only way to get you out of that bank safe and sound was to be patient, to have faith in the work of all the agents present, but at that moment he couldn’t, he couldn’t think of anything other than you.
When Voight approached Jay after some time, he saw him leaning against a police car not far from everyone. He had his back to the rest of the crowd and Voight knew this was just Jay’s way of trying to calm down.
“Jay”.
“What do you want? Isn’t it enough for you to waste my time while my girlfriend is locked in there?!” Jay snapped, not even looking at Voight .
“I know how you feel, god knows how I would’ve reacted if someone so important to me was in this situation,” Voight spoke “But we need you for this but, above all, she needs you right now. I know her, I know she is a strong woman and she’ll be able to keep it cool even in these difficult times, but she’ll need you when she comes out of there, she needs to know you’re lucid enough to help her. Do you think you can do it kid?”
Jay sighed, running his hands over his face as he pondered Voight’s words. He knew he was right, he knew he had to try to be as impartial as possible so he could do his job and save you but he didn’t know how, he didn’t know how to be impartial when it came to you.
-
The sound of one of the bank telephones ringing broke the silence, making you jump. You turned your head slightly, watching the robbers pacing back and forth out of the corner of your eyes, as if they didn’t know what to do.
“Don’t answer that damn phone!” shouted one of the two robbers, the one a little more lucid and controlled.
“You should answer instead,” you intervened fearfully, turning your head slightly to look at the two men.
“Did I say you can fucking talk?!” the robber yelled, rushing towards you and pointing his gun at you. You almost had a heart attack and you wished you’d never opened your mouth as you turned back to the wall.
“No, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, it’s just that… It will be the police and there will definitely be the negotiation team and this is your chance to ask whatever you want, no one will say no” you murmured, dry lips and throat, staring down.
“What makes you think they will help us?” asked the second robber, the most intimidated one, and you knew it was him you had to focus on trying to get him to do the right thing.
“Because they don’t want anyone to get hurt,” you replied, trying to turn back to them but returning to your original position when the first yelled at you again. “Well… What I mean is that you have the opportunity to ask for what you want, a car, plane tickets, fake passports, you can escape and nobody will try to catch you, nobody has to get hurt, I’m sure this is not what you want”.
There was a moment of silence when you prayed to God that neither of them would shoot you and you wished you had never spoken.
“She might be right,” the second robber replied in a low voice, looking at his partner “We have no chance to escape, we are completely surrounded.”
“Fuck!” exclaimed the other, the one who must have been the leader of the duo, frustrated. “Fine, but if anyone tries to make a single fucking move, I’ll kill all of you am I clear?!”
Jay was watching - along with the rest of the team - everything that was going on inside the bank, how the robbers were panicking, how you tried to get them to answer the phone, how that son of a bitch had pointed the gun at you, how you visibly trembled when you felt the gun pointed at your head but nevertheless you tried to convince them to do the right thing.
He kept yelling internally to shut up, to just say nothing. He thought about how brave you were, how much he loved you for it, but at the same time how stupid you were for risking your life like that. He knew, however, you’d try everything before giving up.
His heart stopped a thousand times when he saw the robber point the gun at your head. What would he have given to find himself in your place, how much he would’ve wanted to hold and hug you after seeing you so visibly trembling and afraid, how much he would’ve wanted to tell you he was so proud of you for your courage.
When one of the bank phones started ringing, your heart leapt in your chest, your stomach twisted with anxiety as you hoped one of the robbers would answer. As you might have guessed, they had applied for a vehicle and fake passports to escape with, obviously without omitting the threat they would blow someone’s head if there was something wrong that didn’t go according to plan.
“We will try to do everything we can to provide what you have asked but we also need proof of your willingness to cooperate, that you want to do the right thing” a gruff voice spoke that you acknowledged belonged to Sergeant Voight.
My Jay had to be there too.
Baby, please let us all get out of here, you continued to pray internally, trying to repress the instinct to cry and to be hopeful and positive about the success of the operation.
The two robbers looked at each other, as if they were consulting each other about what to do.
“We can get someone out,” muttered one of them, clearly the submissive one.
“I’m not letting anyone out of here until we have the car and passports!” the other robber exclaimed, not giving the slightest consideration of his partner, and making everyone jump with fear.
“Listen to me carefully,” Voight replied “Unfortunately this is not up to me, these requests follow chains that I cannot outclass and especially for false passports you have to wait a bit, but my bosses could do something to speed up the process if they saw your willingness to let someone go. At least let the women go.”
Jay’s heart was pounding in his chest as he watched the surveillance camera videos from the monitors and he didn’t care how selfish and horrible it might sound but in those moments he hardly even cared what was going on, the robbers would do. They could even run away, never reappear again and he’d let them go just to get you back safe and sound in front, he just wanted to see you walk through the doors of that damned bank, he just wanted to hold you like he had never done.
There were moments of pause, of silence, in which no one in the bank spoke or dared to breathe. Jay kept gazing at the way the robber looked at the hostages, a sign he was pondering Voight’s words and deciding who to possibly let out.
“Ladies, stand up,” the robber ordered. “Turn to us with your hands up. Slowly, and don’t you even think do something stupid or I’ll blow your brains out, am I understood?” he continued, his gun pointed at them as the ladies stood shaking.
If Jay could've described what he was feeling right now in one word, he would’ve used fear. Pure, paralyzing and devastating fear.
You were visibly trembling, your breathing quickened and your heart beating wildly. It was about to end, it soon would be over, you were about to come out of there.
“Take the ladies to the exit,” the leader of the duo ordered. You all started walking but the following words of that man made your blood run cold in your veins “Not you. You’ll stay here sweetie.”
What?
You prayed with every cell in your body he didn’t refer to you but when you looked up and saw his eyes aimed directly at yours, his gun pointed at you, you understood it was you whom he spoke to.
“Why?” you almost whispered.
“Because I say so and now sit back with the others before I’ll kill you!” he exclaimed aloud making you jump with fright.
God, this will never end.
“Fuck!” Jay screamed and in anger kicked again a chair right next to him. He couldn’t believe it, he was just one step away from finally have you back again.
What did they have in mind? Why had the robber held you back?
“Jay calm down man, she’ll be alright” Adam tried to calm him down, but failed miserably.
“Don’t fucking tell me to calm down! What the fuck are we gonna do now? Huh? And don’t tell me to sit back and wait because like hell I’m gonna leave my girlfriend in there with those bastards!”
The robbers had given an ultimatum. They had said if their requests were not granted, they’d kill a hostage every hour.
You kept praying they were just bluffing, that it was just a gimmick of theirs to lure the cops and everyone out there to speed up the operation, but fuck it wasn’t.
They really did.
There was blood everywhere.
Splatters on everyone, even on your face, on your clothes.
You touched your face with trembling fingers and felt dying to see them stained with blood.
They really did it.
They had killed a man.
And now he lay there helpless in front of you, his lifeless body with a gunshot to his forehead in full execution style.
And like this they had taken the life of a man, without remorse, without any pity or second thoughts.
The ‘submissive’ accomplice was almost as shocked as the rest of you, not expecting his partner would actually have the guts to pull the trigger. He understood it was over for the two of them, they were doomed and, since they were now also responsible for a cold-blooded murder, they’d never see the light again.
You knew everything was coming to an end and the more time passed – praying with every cell of your body to see Jay break into that bank sooner or later – and the more the hope of getting out of there alive became smaller and smaller.
Jay was on the verge of losing his mind and trying to hold him back became more and more difficult every second that passed. He just couldn’t sit while you were still hostage to those robbers and now, given the ultimatum they had set, Voight literally had to hold him back by force to prevent him from further worsening the situation.
And Jay, rationally, knew it. He knew if he had intervened he would’ve done nothing but endanger your life and all the others present, that this would’ve ended in nothing but a bloodbath, beyond the blood of the poor man already dead.
“Halstead I need to know for sure you can do your job now because we’re running out of time,” Voight was stating to Jay, a hand on his shoulder as he looked at him in the eye. Jay took a deep breath, but initially remained silent.
Could he really do his job? Could he risk hurting you, even if unintentionally?
“Halstead?”
“Yes, I can do it”.
Voight nodded with a satisfied and proud expression. “Go get ready then, I want you on the roof in 5 minutes.”
Cold sweat dripped from Jay’s forehead, his hand steady on his trigger, ready to fire, his reflexes alarmed, his eyes on the sights.
He tried not to think about the rest, not to think about you crying incessantly, desperate. He tried not to think about how by now this horrible event would’ve traumatized you, how it had been for you to see a man coldly killed in front of your eyes, how afraid you were and how much he would’ve wanted to let you know he was there, that he’d save you, that soon you’d be safe in his arms.
“I’m waiting for orders,” Jay had spoken into the transceiver.
“As soon as you have a clear shot, no other hostage will have to die today,” Voight replied and Jay got the message.
Shoot to kill.
The hour was up and the robber was choosing the next person inevitably destined to die.
You almost had a heart attack and you felt your stomach tighten as you saw his glassy, empty, soulless eyes staring into yours. You cried even more, seeing for an instant your life pass you before his eyes.
God Jay please, where are you?
“You know I haven’t been a real gentleman before, usually I’m always the knight and let the ladies pass first, I hope you’ll forgive my rude gesture,” the robber said in a sinister tone of voice, a smirk on his lips, as if all this amused him “To redeem me the next one to die will be you, sweetness.”
Your survival instincts got the better of you and, even if foolishly and in vain, you tried to escape.
But, of course, this was a complete fiasco.
The robber – now also a murderer – had grabbed you by your hair before you could even try to run away and the kicks and punches you tried to throw at him were not enough, his grip was so strong and firm that it was useless.
“Halstead are you there?” Voight asked through the transceiver, aware that Jay was seeing the same scenes they were seeing too.
Jay didn’t answer right away.
He was furious, so damn angry and so fucking scared. He had never been so scared, not even when he was being bombed overseas while he was at war.
“Jay”.
He was shaking, couldn’t keep his hand steady enough to make a clean shot. He didn’t have a good view as the robber was holding you in his arms and Jay couldn’t possibly risk hurting you.
“I can’t shoot goddamn it,” Jay swore.
“Time is running out sergeant,” the man grinned while on the phone with Voight, still holding the gun to your temple “And still none of the things we requested are here, you know what that means.”
“You know that this is not how you’ll get what you want right?”
“I don’t care, you haven’t listened to me, maybe a little reminder can be useful to you”.
Taking advantage of that exchange of words between Voight and the criminal, you took the opportunity to elbow him in the stomach with all the strength you had in your body. The blow was such that he loosened his arm around your neck and you took the opportunity to escape him and try to hide.
It all happened in a second.
A shot echoed throughout the bank, leaving everyone stuck and petrified in their places, breathless. For a thousandth of a second you thought you were dying, that you’d been shot and your thoughts immediately went to Jay, to the love of your life, to the fact you’d never see him again.
For a moment everything around you stopped, your ears were ringing, your vision blurred, everything seemed to go in slow motion.
Am I dying?
But you didn’t realize it.
You didn’t realize it wasn’t you who was shot but the robber who threatened to take your life away. Not even when you saw his lifeless body slumped on the floor and with a hole in his head you realized it.
Not a single muscle in your body was spared from the twitching and shaking, and as you saw all the police officers enter the bank, immediately arrest the accomplice and rescue the other hostages, you could hardly believe that it was all over, that you survived.
“Y/N, hey” you heard Adam’s voice bring you back to reality but it sounded so low and distant at that moment. You looked around while your eyes tried to study what was going on, as if to make sure it was just reality and not an nightmare.
“Let me help you, come on,” he continued, approaching you and helping you to stand up. Your legs felt like they were made of jelly, so much you could hardly even stand up and if it wasn’t for Adam, you’d probably fall on the ground again.
“Can you walk?”
You nodded. “I want Jay,” you whispered faintly. Damn it, even your voice was still shaking.
“He’s here, he’s coming to you.”
And that was exactly what Jay was doing. His heart nearly stopped beating after he shot the robber but before he knew it, he had already got up and ran off the roof at lightning speed, leaving even the rifle he had used there.
He lost the number with how many people he collided with trying to run to the bank but he didn’t even care, he just wanted to hug you. He looked around immediately when he walked in and when he finally saw you next to Adam, he almost started to cry.
You were fine. You were alive and well.
“Y/N!”
Your head immediately turned to that voice, a voice you would’ve recognized even in the midst of a million. Never before it brought you so much joy and happiness to hear his voice and it was at the precise moment when your eyes met his, so green and bright, you finally felt really safe.
He held you like he had never done before, squeezing you so hard you almost felt your bones break. But you didn’t care, as he hugged you, you could hardly believe it was really happening, that you had another chance. Your arms encircled his neck as you inhaled his scent deeply, his arms instead encircled your hips with so much force they’d most likely leave a mark.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” he asked frenziedly in his voice, pulling away from you for a moment and glancing at your body to see if there were any obvious injuries.
“I’m fine… I’m fine…” you replied even if your trembling said something else. Jay hugged you again and at that moment you didn’t even notice that Adam had walked away, leaving you two alone.
“Oh baby,” he whispered “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s all over now, I’m here with you.”
You started crying again, nonstop, as if those words from Jay had flipped a switch inside you.
“Cry as long as you want my love I won’t leave you, I’m here with you and it’s all over, you’re safe with me,” he tried to calm you down, stroking your back with his hand as he squeezed you tightly to his chest. The truth was that Jay had no idea how he was still standing, the truth was that if you weren’t so shaken, you probably would've felt how shaky he was too. He couldn’t believe he had you there, that you were safe and sound and soon he even couldn’t hold back the tears anymore.
But he didn’t want to be seen weak, crying with joy, with fear, not in that moment, especially because you needed him then more then ever, he had to be strong for you.
“I’m so sorry I didn’t come sooner my love, I’ll never forgive myself.”
You kept sobbing, sniffling from time to time because of the desperate crying that had taken over you. You wanted to talk so badly, tell him it wasn’t his fault, that he didn’t have to feel guilty but you just couldn’t.
“Let’s get out of here, can you walk baby?” Jay asked you in a sweet, gentle tone after an indefinite time. He pulled away from you slightly and took your face in his hands. His thumbs caressed the skin of your cheeks, wiping away the tears so sweetly, if you hadn’t already cried all the tears in your body, you’d most likely have burst into tears again.
You sniffed and nodded, wanting nothing more than to get as far away from that damn bank as possible. “Yes, please”.
“You’re still shaking baby,” his heart bleeding out “It’ll be okay love I promise, I’ll always be next to you and we’ll get through this together, you are not alone okay?”
You nodded again and you believed him, you knew you could count on him and this was perhaps the only thing that could cheer you up during a time when you were afraid of the whole world.
For the rest of the day Jay didn’t leave you for even a second, constantly asking you how were you feeling, if you needed something. You were still very upset but thanks to him you had at least stopped shaking as if you were convulsing.
That event was not something you would’ve easily overcome, quite the opposite. The fear of dying, seeing that man die in front of you, the kidnapper, all that blood, god, these were things you’d never be able to forget.
You and Jay were in your bedroom, lying under the covers as he hugged and cuddled you, in an effort to help you close your eyes and sleep, at least for a little while.
But of course it was in vain. You couldn’t sleep, not after all that had happened.
Absolute silence reigned in the room, neither of yp spoke, there was no need. It was an almost deafening silence and never like then you hated it because you felt like you were about to drown in your own thoughts but, at the same time, you couldn’t even say a word, you didn’t know what to say and in the same way Jay.
He found himself in a phase in which perhaps only then he began to fully realize what had happened, that he had really risked losing you, never seeing you again, not staying on your bed like you were doing, hugging each other.
Jay held you tighter in his arms, as if that thought had physically hurt him and as if he was trying to push it away.
“I love you to death, you know that right?” it was Jay who broke the silence “You are my life, the most important to me baby”.
His words warmed your heart, making your lips rise to the first spontaneous little smile of that damned day. “I love you too baby, so damn much”.
“I’m serious Y/N,” Jay let you go for a few seconds and then immediately put his hand on your chin, causing you to look at him “I want you to know that, I love you so fucking much. I’m not joking and I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I couldn’t live without you” he continued, then gently stroking your cheek as he looked you in the eye with so much devotion and love you almost fainted.
“You know, ever since we’ve been together I’ve always had the fucking fear of losing you, given the work I do, I’ve always been afraid you might leave me but today it was something devastating. I swear baby I can’t even explain how I felt when I heard about the robbery, knowing you were there, I think I died and rose a thousand times within a minute,” he talked, literally heart in his throat as he remembered those horrible moments “I was so afraid, the terror of losing you… It’s a feeling I never want to relive again and I know it sounds selfish of me to say these things now since you were in there and you first experienced this horror, but really baby, it felt like a fucking knife was cutting me in pieces. And I’m also so sorry I didn’t came earlier, I swear I would’ve broken down the door by myself just to come get you but they literally had to hold me back with force”.
You giggled through your tears, only then realizing you started crying again. “I know you would baby and that was the only thought that made me resist honestly, I knew you would walk in that door and save us all,” you said “I was so afraid I’d never see you again baby…” you weren’t able to finish the sentence since you broke is sobs again. Jay hugged you against his chest again, whispering soft words as his hand caressed your hair.
“I hate so much it was you who went through all this, I’ll never be able to forgive myself, it wasn’t supposed to be you.”
“But it wasn’t your fault…”
Jay was silent.
You looked up at him and noticed how his eyes were fixed, aimed at the ceiling. Only then you noticed the tear that slipped from his eye and you realized he was avoiding your gaze because he was crying.
“Oh baby…” you muttered under your breath, lifting your hand and wiping his tears with your fingers, exactly as he had done with you all day.
“I’m sorry love, you shouldn’t be the one comforting me now” He chuckled, trying to ease the tension a little, finally looking into your eyes.
Jay rested his forehead on yours as his fingers gently stroked your cheeks. You brought your face close to his, kissing him on the lips but before you could even break away from him, Jay placed his hand behind your head, pressing his mouth to yours again, kissing you this time with much more intensity, with so much love and passion it felt like years had passed since your last kiss and just like this you finally felt at home, safe in his arms like never before.

Hi! I was curious if you could write a few headcanons (or make a one shot, whichever you prefer) of Jackson Rippner with a goth partner? Of course, Jack's not exactly as ordinary as he comes off at the start of the movie, but I've wondered how he'd be with an s/o that's just a bit more out there than he is, and how he would take in aspects of the subculture (the music, fashion, goth clubs, etc.) as a goth myself. I'm super excited to see what you come up with. Thanks 🖤🦇⚰
Hello! Thank you for the ask; this was really fun! I did some googling on the subculture itself (mainly the clubs because I didn’t know they had actual clubs for it and that was super, super interesting!!) so here’s my thoughts on how he’d react based on what I’ve read and such. I hope you like it~ xx
Warnings: mentions of scars, sexual content ish, dark themes (he’s a terrorist so~ mentions of murder and stuff ahhahah), stalkery Jackson?, super hot and sexy goth gf, overall 18++
Tumblr media
First, let’s address the very pretty elephant in the room: tattoos. Taking it from the scar scene where Jackson is almost entranced by the raised scar tissue on Lis’ chest~ he’d love any tatts you have, if any.
Intrigued, completely mesmerized by the inked flesh, he loves to kiss and lick and nip at the flesh.
Skull tattys? A bat tattoo with the rib cage showing? Pretty finger ink? He loves it! 10/10 obsessed with your ink. If you have lyrics tattooed, he googles the lyrics later and listens to the song.
Leading to music:
He really doesn’t hate it. Actually, he kinda like the overall vibe of it.
He was very iffy at first to listen, thinking it would be annoying screaming music that made his ears bleed… but then the songs you showed him?
He felt like he was being transported back in time to a dark castle, laying on the dusty marble floor. He swore he could see you standing above him in all your glory with candlelight casting shadows across your pale skin, whispering the dark secrets of his sins. To put it lightly: it was an ethereal experience.
He really likes “the sanity assassin” by Bauhaus. (Ironic? HAHAHAHHA absolutely)
First time you played it for him, he snatched your phone and put that shit on repeat. First time he heard it in a club? He grinned wildly.
He loves the architecture of a goth club. You couldn’t get him to dress up for it, which you were worried was an issue while being there because some people are all about the non existent ‘dress code’, but Jackson as you have learned very early on in your relationship, is very persuasive.
The dude can get along with anyone. His presence, his aura, those terrifying blue eyes that can either be the sweetest sapphires welcoming you with a warm glimmer or the coldest, most dangerous icy ocean swallowing you whole. Thankfully, you’d never been on the receiving side of his death glare, and you don’t ever want to.
Some people gave annoyed stares at the man, but really, he didn’t look too out of place with his stance (and the way he was clinging to you like a baby koala). He ignored the stares at him, more focused on the starving ogles placed on you. Then, you saw a side of him you’d never seen before: murderous gazes. All for your honor? Talk about a knee bruiser ;)
He enjoys sharing in the things you like. Before meeting you (properly) Jackson had done his research on the goth subculture. He wanted to know how to talk to you and get to know you without looking like a moron. Of course he had seen you first, figuring out your name and address so he could see how you lived and what you did. He was thoroughly surprised that you didn’t live in a bat cave and sleep with a coffin. You were normal! Just incredibly hot and intimidating. He loved it.
He’s never had trouble speaking with women, but he found himself nervous to approach you. After all, what if you didn’t like him and thought he was boring?!
He was anything but boring, but obviously he couldn’t tell you that at first. Then he’d have to get rid of you, and he really didn’t want to do that! Jesus, you were so exciting it was almost unbearable to wait so long until he got the balls but then-
You came up to him first!
Okay… maybe… he was staring a little bit at the gothic style store he’d followed you into. Maybe you found it creepy or weird or endearing? He didn’t know, only smiling sheepishly as you approached him.
“Can I help you?” You we’re so bold, it nearly knocked him on his ass. And your sass? That was so sexy.
“Actually, you can. You look more qualified to assist than I, don’t you think?” His grin was so confident, so assure of himself. And yet he was kind and easy going. His bright, piercing stare devoured you.
“Are you looking for a style change?” Unsure, you nervously chuckled and glanced down at his modern dress. He dressed well in your opinion. Like a hot casual professor almost?
“Ah, no, I don’t look good in chains.” He smirked, “well, maybe, actually, it’s for someone special. And, she kinda matches your style. Would you help me find someone she’d like? What do you suggest?” And there it was…. You’d spent an hour and a half meandering about the store talking to this unbearably handsome man. He asked you everything and anything, getting to know you and the gothic culture you adored. He complimented your clothes and eyes and lips painted a dark color… it was so unfair he had girlfriend! After all, he was buying something for her…
Finally, sadly, your meeting had to come to an end. You helped him pick out this incredibly amazing dress for his stupid girl… and outside the store, he smile and thrusted the bag in your direction.
“So you’ll wear this Saturday? I’ll pick you up at five-thirty?”
The rest was history really. You were so shocked and happy it was hard to get out the three letters, ‘yes!’ Cheeky bastard was so sly and sauve, you melted, agreeing to meet him without a second thought. And of course, the date went extraordinarily well, the dress fitting perfectly because “oh, she actually has almost the same body type as you. Just get your size and it should be fine.”
And taking it off after the date? That was his favorite part.

All I'm gonna say is Bucky's little being obsessed with feeding Bucky from their plate
Pairing: Daddy!Bucky Barnes x little!f!reader
Word Count: 1,385
Warnings: ddlg dynamics, other than that it's just fluff.
A/N: that was so cute it totally stole my heart🥺💜 thank you so much for sharing such a soft thought with me I hope I did it justice?:"💜💜you know I be meaning for these to be short, like blurbs, but I just-
please enjoy xx.
dada, open up
Bucky took care of his girl. He’d play with her, read to her, bathe her, do her hair, love on her and even feed her. He enjoyed spoiling her. Bucky loved that she trusted him enough to completely let go so he could look after her and that was exactly what he did.
“Dada,” she called to him before he could react.
She was quiet as they sat at the dinner table, but Bucky didn’t think much of it. Her mouth was busy after all.
Bucky was scooping rice on her spoon when he saw her hand slide a piece of broccoli out of her plate. He was about to scold her about table manners and what cutlery were for and that she needed to wait for him to feed her—
Bucky looked to her, expecting her to say she was full or that she didn’t want to eat this specific piece of broccoli. She almost always did this when they came to the last bit of food on her plate. But Bucky was surprised to see his girl offering him the piece of broccoli she held, her hand raised up so the sautéed vegetable was almost touching his lips.
“That’s your food, honey. Daddy has his too, see?” He told her, tilting his plate so she could see he still had food to be consumed, trying to lift the spoon to her lips to feed her.
“Dada,” she repeated, pouting when Bucky left her hand in the air too long.
“Alright, but just this one. You’re gonna eat the rest of your dinner yourself like a good girl, okay?”
She nodded with a smile, stretching her arm more so it reached Bucky’s lips. He opened his mouth and took the food in, chewing.
“Thank you, sweets,” Bucky said before kissing her fingers.
She blushed adorably, retracting her hand and going back to munching her food with a satisfied smile.
“Now open wide for the rice plane.”
~
She did it again the next day; this time when they were having lunch.
“Dada, nuggie,” she said, pushing her hand forward to him.
“Yes, sweets, what’s wrong with your nuggie?” Bucky looked at the golden piece of chicken she held out. It seemed normal to him.
“Nothin’, wanna share it with Daddy,” she told him, shrugging cutely.
He couldn’t help but want to kiss all over her sweet, little face. But she had to finish her meals and eat properly.
“Honey—”
“Dada.” She gave him her puppy eyes; she knew he couldn’t say no to those eyes.
Bucky silently opened his mouth, biting back a smile as he chewed the fried chicken. He needed to be firm, but he still kissed her greasy fingers just to see her blush and take them back.
“You like it?” She checked, wanting to make sure he was enjoying the food as much as she was.
“Mhhm,” Bucky hummed, his eyebrow raised as he tried to figure her out, waiting for the minute she’s going to ask him to finish the plate for her because she was done.
“Dada, baby carrot for you.” She proposed food from her plate again.
“Sweets, you gotta eat your dinner.”
“Baby carrot,” she repeated after nodding at his statement.
Bucky accepted the orange veggie, kissing her hand again before he watched her continue to sit obediently and eat all that was left on her plate with no fuss.
~
At first, Bucky thought she was passing him the food she didn’t like or couldn’t finish under the cover of ‘sharing’, but she always ended up finishing her food, so that was confusing.
Then she started feeding him food that she actually liked too.
“Dada,” came her call again, her hand pressing a red grape from her snack plate to Bucky’s lips.
“Sweets, daddy cut those up for you.” Bucky’s heart swelled at the gesture, but he couldn’t just keep eating her food.
Bucky sighed, shaking his head.
She thought he didn’t want a grape so she dropped it back and held out a piece of apple instead.
“Do you not like the food daddy makes anymore? Is there something else you’d rather eat?”
“No.” She shook her head, putting the apple back among the other fruits.
“Then what is it, honey? Why don’t you wanna eat your food?” Bucky tilted his head, putting her hair behind her ear.
“I wanna eat my food, jus’ wan’ daddy to eat with me too,” she mumbled shyly, her voice small and her finger pushing the fruits around the small bowl in her hands.
“Oh, honey,” Bucky whispered in realization, his heart fluttering at his girl’s care and thoughtfulness before he took her on his lap.
“Wanna share with you because I love you, daddy,” she continued, still staring at her hands, having no idea she was making the man’s heart melt inside his chest.
She loved him. She thought he was special and she wanted to feed him out of her own plate with her own hand like he would her. She wanted to look after him too. It was so wholesome and it made Bucky feel warm and worthy.
Bucky’s thumb touched her cheek, making her look at him.
“Daddy loves you too, sweets. Daddy loves you very much.” He kissed her forehead and temple, big hand caressing her back before he pressed her to his chest in a warm hug, her head tucked under his chin. “You’re the best baby ever, you know that?”
Bucky couldn’t believe how lucky he was even with his whole world between his arms; right on his lap.
“Red grape?” She suggested when they pulled away and she could try again, her happy smile back on her face.
“Red grape.” Bucky nodded with a chuckle, his tongue taking the fruit between his lips.
“Ew,” she giggled, wiping the saliva from Bucky’s tongue on his shirt.
“Did I just hear you say ew, sweets?” Bucky laughed, taking the fruit bowl and putting it away.
He quickly flipped her down on the couch and started running his long fingers up and down her sides, making her laugh and squirm.
“Did you? Hmm?” He kept asking, knowing too well she couldn’t answer him between her loud giggles.
“Dada!” She squealed, trying to wiggle away from his evil fingers tickling her sides.
“You don’t like if daddy’s saliva gets on you?” Bucky teased, licking up her cheek and she laughed louder, her knees bending in a failed attempt to shield her sides.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” She screamed out, still giggling and panting.
“Thank you for sharing your food with me, sweets.” Bucky kissed her chin.
Bucky had mercy on her after a minute, letting her breathe as she continued to smile up at him. He wiped her cheek with the sleeve of his Henley, placing a kiss where he licked her before pumping his nose with hers.
She giggled, scrunching her nose up. Bucky’s hands were settled on her sides, holding her gently as his thumbs rubbed her tummy. She sighed when her chest stopped its heavy rising and falling, gazing at Bucky with all the love she had in her.
Her palm cupped his cheek and Bucky turned his head to kiss her fingers. Then he leaned forward, knowing what she wanted. When he was closer, she held onto his shoulders and lifted her head up to press a sweet kiss to his cheek as well.
From that day on, it was the rule that she would feed Bucky from her plate; it didn't matter where they were or who was around them. Sam could call Bucky whipped all he wanted, he would open up too if he had a girl like her feeding him out of her plate.
She would share anything that was put on her plate with her Daddy: the popcorn on movie nights, the extra blueberries she always asked for with her pancakes, the pepperoni on her pizza, the last curly fry on her plate, and mandarin slices whenever Bucky would peel one for her. And so he started putting extra of everything on her plate to make sure she still got to eat the healthy amount she was meant to eat. Everything was balanced again. Everything was perfect and Bucky wouldn’t want to have it any other way.

After only a few beeps of Eddie's alarm clock, I was awake and leaned over so that I could turn it off. The room was pitch black but I somehow managed to do it. I stretched out some of my sleepiness before I slid out of bed, trying my best not to wake Eddie. He seemed not to hear the noise from the alarm, and I was relieved; He deserved some good sleep.
Ever since Eddie told me how often he suffered from terrifying nightmares, I couldn't help but worried about him. He said that he hadn't had one since we started seeing each other but I knew that I wasn't the sole reason for his relief. I hated that he still lived in fear because of whatever happened to him in the Upside Down. He did not deserve that, not at all. It was also gutting to know that there was a possibility it hadn't been fully destroyed. From everything that Max had relayed to me in our past phone calls, Hawkins was safe, but was there truly any way to know that for certain?
It has to be destroyed... They all swear that it was.... They can't go through this again... I'm sure the fires are just a coincidence... They must be... They have to be...
I grabbed my black overnight bag and headed into the bathroom. Eddie's uncle still wasn't home, but I figured he would be soon enough. It would be safe to change in the bathroom, in case he got home while I was showering, as opposed to our first meeting being with me dressed in only a towel. I was a tad bit anxious to meet him but in a good way. Knowing how important it was to Eddie, I wanted to make a good impression. He hadn't introduced anyone to his uncle before and I'd never met the parents of anyone who I was seeing. My relationships had all been fairly casual, up until now. The only "boyfriend" I ever had was some random kid in middle school named Jacob. I couldn't even remember his last name, that's how short-lived it had been.
Come to think of it, we never broke up... We sort of just stopped talking to each other... I guess if Eddie ever asks me to be his girlfriend, I'll have to tell him that I'm taken... Oh well...
I laughed quietly to myself, recalling my past flippancy toward relationships, as I shut the bathroom door behind me and switched on the lights. I pulled back the mint-green shower curtain and reached into the ceramic, blue tub to turn the water on. As the water was heating up, I slipped out of my clothes and brushed though my tangled hair before stepping in. The hot water crashing onto my cool skin would be the perfect way to wake up. It had gotten a little cold in Eddie's room last night, but I stayed wrapped up against him to stay warm. Normally, I hated sleeping so close to someone, but it felt natural with Eddie. It was hard to imagine ever getting used to staying the night with him.
•••
After I was done in the shower, I wrapped myself in a towel to dry off. Eddie's shampoo smelled amazing, like pine, but the lack of conditioner was a little frightening. It was a mystery as to how he had such perfect curls without properly taking care of them. That was just some of his magic, I guessed. I'd have to grab some stuff at the store to keep over here, since he wouldn't mind, but for now I could just rake some oil through my hair to make up for the lack of softness. I brushed though my wet hair before I rubbed some oil between my palms and ran it through my combed strands. After washing to oil off of my hands, I brushed my teeth until I felt clean again. I thought about sneaking back into Eddie's room to finish getting ready for work, but I had heard a door open and wasn't quite sure if it was Eddie waking up or his uncle getting home. I decided to put a little makeup on in here before walking out.
My outfit for the day was one that I had worn a million times before but remained as one of my favorites. There was nothing wrong with having a go-to outfit, in my opinion. Everyone these days were obsessed with having everything be nice and new, but I was always one for the classics. If it still worked, why change it? I paired my perfectly worn-out, high-waisted blue jeans with my coveted Cramps t-shirt and a black long sleeve underneath. I slipped on my socks and citrine necklace before putting some makeup on. One more glance at myself in the mirror showed me that I was ready for the day. I confidently opened the door to the bathroom, ready to see whoever was on the other side.

Eddie's bedroom door was still closed so I made my way out to the living room. Standing there, going through his work bag, was who I could only assume was Eddie's uncle. He was wearing a button-up work shirt with his name, Wayne, stitched on the chest. His jeans were dirty from a hard night of work, and he seemed like he was lost in his search for something in his bag until he must have heard me. He glanced around the room until he noticed me standing there in the kitchen.
"Well, hello there," he said softly as if to not wake Eddie, who he now knew was the one still sleeping.
"Hi, Mr. Munson," I said as I set my bag on the counter and went over to shake his hand.
"Violet, I'm guessing?" He asked as he held out his hand for me.
"Yes, nice to meet you. How'd you know who I was?" I asked as I firmly shook his callused hand.
"My nephew hasn't stopped talking about you for about a week now," he said with a sweet laugh as he dropped my hand. "It's good to finally meet you, too. Want a cup of coffee or anything?"
"Oh, it's alright. You don't have to," I said, just trying to be polite.
"You sure? I was just getting ready to put a pot on for myself. S'no problem at all," he replied as he started walking into the kitchen.
"In that case, yes I will take a cup. Thank you," I said as I went back to stand next to the counter.
"Do me a favor and grab us a couple mugs from the wall over there," he said pointing to a wooden rack full of colorful mugs.
"Will do," I said as I walked over to the rack, grabbed us two mugs, and set them on the counter while the coffee started to brew.
"So, why are you up so early this morning?" Wayne inquired as he led us over to sit on the couch while we waited. "Couldn't sleep? Sorry if it gets a bit cold in here. These old walls don't keep the heat in like they used to."
"Oh no, I slept just fine, Mr. Munson. I'm used to this time of the day. I usually have to be into work pretty early. I run the Family Video over on the other side of town," I answered.
"Oh, wow," Wayne said as he rubbed his chin. "That's mighty impressive. How did you swing that?"
"My grandparents owned the store before me. When they, um- when they passed, we found out that they still owned it and with nobody else to run it, I took it over," I said with a bit of hesitation but wanting to open-up to him.
"I'm sorry I pried, Violet," Wayne apologized but there was no reason for him too.
"You don't need to apologize," I said with a reassuring smile.
"Well then, let me go grab us some coffee so you can properly start you day," he said as he patted me softly on the shoulder before standing up to head into the kitchen.
He continued before pouring our drinks, "you take anythin' in your coffee? We're out of milk but we've got some sugar, if you'd like that."
"Just sugar is perfect," I said with a smile as he got the mugs together.
When Wayne was done brewing the pot of coffee for us, he returned it to its spot on the counter and brought my mug over to me. I gave it a few moments to cool down, but I couldn't wait too long. The wave of tiredness would soon sweep over me if I didn't get some caffeine in my system, and fast. I needed to get heading into work soon, but I was enjoying my morning with Wayne and was hoping that Eddie would be awake before I had to leave.
"So, how was work last night? Eddie said you've been working nights again," I asked before I took my first sip of the deliciously sweet coffee.
"Yep, I have, and it was alright. Just gotta do what I gotta do," he said with a slanted smile.
"Eddie talks very highly of you," I said as I looked into his kind, soulful eyes. "I can tell how proud he is to have you as his uncle."
"That boy means the world to me," he said, trying not get choked up thinking about the love he had for Eddie. "What has he told you about his situation, if you don't mind me asking?"
"A lot, actually," I answered honestly. "He told me about his parents and how you took him in when he was little. I can't imagine how somebody could leave a child like that but he's lucky to have you. It takes a special kind of person to show someone unconditional love like that."
"You're too kind," Wayne said, humbly. "He really told you all that?"
"I mean it, and yes, he did. From everything he's said, I can tell he loves and respects you a lot," I said as I heard a noise from the back of the trailer.
Wayne and I both turned our attention to the hallway as Eddie came stumbling out of his room. He rubbed his tired with his hands before coming into the light of the kitchen. He did a double take when he saw me sitting with his uncle. A smile started to form on his face as he made his way over to us. Dressed only in his boxers, I tried my best not to blush, but he looked so good.
"Good morning," Eddie grumbled as he walked into the living room. "What's all this?"
"Just having a cup-of-joe with this lovely lady of yours right here," Wayne answered as he took a long sip of his unsweetened black coffee.
"Your uncle was just telling me all of the embarrassing stories he had about you," I teased as Eddie's eyes widened and then narrowed intensely as he glared at his uncle and me.
I continued as I stood up, "thank you for the coffee, Mr. Munson. I've gotta get heading into work, but I appreciate this so much."
"Anytime, honey," Wayne said from the couch as I went over to wash my mug out in the sink. "You can call me Wayne, by the way. 'Mr. Munson' sounds too formal."
"You've got it, Wayne," I replied with a slight wave.
As I made my way back into Eddie's room to grab my tote bag, I could hear him and his uncle talking about me. It was dead quiet in the trailer, other than their voices, so I stood by the door and listened in on them. I felt a little guilty for eavesdropping but once I started, I couldn't stop myself.
"So?" Eddie asked.
"She seems like a great girl, kid. She likes you a lot, I can tell," Wayne replied, sounding like he was now standing in the kitchen, so I could hear him clearly.
"You really think so?" Eddie asked nervously.
"I know so. You've got a good one there," Eddie's uncle replied confidently. "Don't let her go."
"I don't ever plan on it," Eddie said, and I could practically hear him smiling from through the door. "She means everything to me."
They kept talking for a minute, but had grown quiet and I could no longer hear them as clearly as before. After his uncle's sweet words and Eddie's certainty about us, I could hear him making his way back into his room. I bolted over to the bed and acted like I had been making it before he walked in. Eddie walked right up to me, spun me around, and pulled me into him. My arms melted around his waist as he held me close.
We stayed like that for a long moment, just drinking each other in. I had my head nestled in his chest and he ran his fingers through my hair, sending chills rippling through me. I almost teared up, not wanting to leave him today. I felt so much closer to him after spending another night together and then meeting the most important person in his life. Hearing what he'd said about me when he didn't think I could hear him had warmed my soul; Everything was coming together.
"Mm, I wish you could stay," Eddie said as we started pulling away, still holding onto each other's arms.
"I know, I know," I said as I reached up and rested my hand on his soft cheek. "I told you, soon. Once the store is under control, I can take a couple days off and maybe we could go somewhere together."
"Just let me know when, and we'll get the hell out of this town the second we can, just me and you," Eddie said as he pulled me in for a kiss.
I wrapped my arms around his neck as our lips moved together as one. The idea of spending a weekend away with Eddie sounded like a dream. As we swirled our lips slowly together, I couldn't help but fantasize about going on an adventure with him.
Maybe we could go camping or rent a little cabin together... Maybe even head into the city and see a concert or something... Just being anywhere with him alone would be nice... Fuck... I need to get the store under control so that we can take some time away... I like him so fucking much...
After our long moment of early-morning passion, I needed to get heading out for work. Today would be easy enough, seeing as it was only Tuesday, but I still had to get there on time. Thankfully Eddie lived relatively close to the diner, so I would still have time to grab some drinks and breakfast on the way in. I hadn't asked Steve if he wanted anything to eat when I'd offered to get us coffee, but I was fairly hungry and figured that he would be too. It was a relief knowing that I would be working with him today. He always made the day go by fast.
Eddie quickly slipped into some black and grey plaid Metallica pajama bottoms, the shirt that he'd borrowed from me with their same logo, and put on his black leather jacket so that he wouldn't be cold as he walked with me out to my car. He almost looked too good to leave, even just dressed in his pajamas. I hated leaving him, but I had no choice, as the store and my team were depending on me.
I can't wait until we hire more help... I need a fucking break...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wayne was in the bathroom taking a shower when we came out of Eddie's room, so I would just have to tell Eddie to say goodbye to him for me. As we sat putting our shoes on together in the living room, he started asking what my plans for the rest of the week were.
"So, what are you doing tonight?" Eddie inquired as I laced up my Docs.
"Max invited me to the arcade. You're going too, aren't you?" I asked as I waited for Eddie to slip his boots on. "What are you getting into?"
"I'm gonna stop by for a bit, I think. We usually have band practice, but some of the guys are busy tonight," Eddie said with a playful smile. " And I have some 'errands' I've got to run today. Gotta make money somehow."
Eddie put air quotes around his clever word choice, and I immediately knew what he meant. He hadn't met up with anyone to sell them weed, and I figured with how good his supply was, that his customers were anxious to get their hands on some more.  I would never judge him for how he made his money, but I knew that he didn't want his uncle to hear him. He was doing what he had to do to get by, and frankly I respected him for it. There wasn't anything about his "job" that would make me think any differently about him.
"What are you doing after the arcade, if you wind up going? Do you want to stay over?" I asked, hoping he would be free.
"Yeah, I should be free," he answered coyly. "What about Wednesday?"
"I've got a dinner with Max and my aunt, so I don't know how late I'll be out," I said.
"Well, I'll be here working on my campaign if you want to stop by," Eddie offered as we started walking outside.
"I will if it's not too late," I said as I rifled for my keys in my bag.
"Oh, and I have a show at The Hideout on Friday. I'd love to see you there," Eddie said with that pretty smile of his.
"You know I will be," I said to him as I finally found my keys and looked back at him. "I can't wait to see you play again. Nothing could make me leave this time, I promise."
Once my car was unlocked, Eddie put my overnight bag into the backseat. He shut the door behind him and leaned against my car. He reached for my hands and pulled me in for a short kiss. I held his hands in mine when I pulled away, keeping my body pressed against him for warmth. The cool wind whipped around us as we spent the last bit of our morning together.
"Oh, my uncle wanted me to ask you if you'd want to come over for dinner on Sunday. He'll be off work for the first time in a few weeks, so he was wondering if you wanted to go out for burgers or something," Eddie said as he looked down at me and brushed my hair behind my ear.
"I'd love that! Will you tell him I said bye when he's done in the bathroom? I feel bad that I couldn't see him again before leaving," I replied as I moved to open my door.
"Of course, I will," Eddie said as he leaned in my car door while I sat down in the front seat. "You gonna tell me what you two were talking about before I woke up?"
"We we're just getting to know each other," I answered as I smiled up at him.
"So, nothing embarrassing like you said?" He asked as he crossed his arms.
"Wouldn't you like to know," I teased as I put the keys into the ignition and turned my station-wagon on. "See you later, Eds."
"You're not getting off that easy. I'll get it out of you," Eddie said with a devilish smile as he leaned down to kiss me goodbye.
He held my face in his hands as he pressed his lips against my forehead before pulling me in for a real kiss. His ice-cold rings sent a pleasing chill fluttering through me. I moved my lips with him for a moment before he stepped back so that I could close the door. After I shut it, I rolled my window down before I pulled away.
"Bye, Eddie," I said with a small wave.
"Drive safe, sweetheart," he replied as he waved goodbye back to me. "See you tonight."
I rolled up my window as I pulled away. I could see Eddie in my rearview, standing in his doorway while he watched me leave. He always did that I couldn't help but smile that he seemed like he couldn't get enough of me. Being wanted and desired was something that I wasn't used to but a welcome change. I'd always felt so lonely before meeting Eddie. I was content enough with my life, but I guess I didn't know what I was missing. He had completely flipped my idea of what a partner could be. It was as if the universe had personified exactly the person that it knew I needed. I felt so lucky to have found him.

As I made my way to grab some breakfast and coffee, I blasted some Fleetwood Mac, per usual. I was determined to have a good day after the amazing morning that I'd had, and Stevie Nicks was the best way to put me in the best mood. I turned down the road that the diner was on and bobbed my head along to the end of the tape.
The waitress that was usually there, Pamela, was in today and it was always nice to see her. She threw in the muffins for free this morning and I made sure that I tipped her very well. She always made my day when I saw her. She had become a pleasant constant in my life that I was building here in Hawkins.
After securing two coffees and a couple of blueberry-streusel muffins, I headed toward the store. This morning had just been the perfect start to my day. Meeting Eddie's uncle had gone even better than I thought it would. The sight of Eddie being so nervous when he woke up and saw us talking was priceless. It was beyond adorable seeing him like that. I was glad that I had the opportunity to get to know Wayne alone at first. I could see in his eyes how much he loved Eddie, and it warmed my otherwise cold heart.
Eddie didn't deserve any of the things that had happened to him in this life. I mean, nobody truly deserved to be left by their parents or almost killed in an alternate dimension, but Eddie was nothing other than kind, and thoughtful, and caring. With the way he carried himself, you would never know about the darkness of his past. No matter what he was going through inside, he never let it show, unless you were someone very, very close to him. I always felt honored when he would open himself up to me.
I hope he knows he doesn't ever have to pretend to be strong around me... I love seeing his vulnerable side, the true Eddie...
•••
My thoughts were consumed with Eddie as I pulled into the video store parking lot that I almost missed seeing the other car that was parked in the lot. Leaning against his burgundy BMW was none other than Steve. There was something about him that looked different this morning, even more put together than usual. He was wearing some new sunglasses, nice slacks, a tailored brown jacket, and his hair looked particularly styled today. I parked my car next to him and noticed that he was beaming when I got out of my car and walked up to him.
"Good morning, Steve," I said as I handed him his black coffee with cinnamon and the bag containing his blueberry-streusel muffin.
"It is a damn good morning, Violet," Steve said as he slung his arm around my shoulder and walked me to the back of the store to get it unlocked.
"What's with you today?" I asked with a laugh as we walked together.
"I took your advice, is all," Steve replied as we rounded the corner behind the store.
He continued while I unlocked the door and held it open for him, "I called Nance again last night and told her that I didn't just want to hang out with her, that I wanted to take her on a date."
"And?" I asked as we flipped on the lights for the store and went to put our stuff in the lockers. "What did she say? Yes, I'm assuming?"
"Yes, she said yes," Steve sang loudly as he pulled me in for a hug and nearly squeezed the life out of me.
"Steve, Steve, I can't breathe," I tried to say, but my voice was muffled from being pressed against his chest.
"Sorry, sorry," Steve said as he released me. "My bad for strangling you. I'm just so fucking relieved."
"I'm so happy for you, friend," I said as we walked into the main part of the store to get the cash registers open for the day. "When are you guys going out?"
"Tonight!" Steve answered as we counted the cash in each of the drawers. "Holy shit, I get to see her tonight."
"Breathe Steve, breathe," I said, trying to keep him calm. "So, where are you taking her?"
"There's this Italian restaurant that's pretty good called Enzo's," Steve said, unable to wipe the wide smile from his face.
"Ooh, fancy," I teased while I went over to check the returns bin and get the front doors unlocked.
"I just- I just feel like everything is falling back into place," Steve said excitedly. "I know you don't know her yet but you're going to love her."
"I can't wait to meet her, Steve," I replied as I walked back over to the register area. "Bring her to Eddie's show on Friday. You're going, I assume?"
"Shit, I should," Steve said as he started considering the idea. "Well, I'll ask her what her plans are if tonight goes well."
"It will Steve, it will," I said as our first customer started walking through the doors. "Do you mind getting this guy taken care of? I need to make a few calls to set up interviews. I'm going to have people come in on Thursday to find us a store manager and a couple more associates to bring onto the team."
"Go ahead. I've got this," Steve said as he motioned toward the back of the store. "Just don't hire any losers."
"Thank you," I said as I started walking back to my office. "And I'll try not to."
"No, thank you," Steve called after me.
I closed the door to the office behind me and got to work calling the numbers from the list of applicants that I had compiled. If this round of interviews didn't go well, we would just have to regroup and try again. Not wanting to fail myself and the team, I had a lot riding on Thursday going well. As much as I was enjoying my time here, running the store was indescribably stressful. The amount of pressure that I felt was nearly crippling, but I was trying my best to hold it all together. Nothing in my life had prepared me for the challenge that I had taken on by choosing to run this store. I didn't need their support, but sometimes I wished that my parents had given me some advice before I left home.
I have to do this on my own... I don't need them... I can't keep wasting my time, hoping that they'll someday be different...
•••
After I got the calls that I needed to make, done, the interviews were all squared away, and I went back out to the main part of the store to help Steve with a few customers that had been coming in. I was excited to tell him that everything was finally coming together. We desperately needed help at the store, especially with balancing all our books. I was starting to feel like I was underwater with all the clerical work that I had been doing and feared that it was too much for me to handle.
We had 13 perspective team members coming in on Thursday and they all seemed like qualified candidates. I only had space on our payroll to bring on a manager and two more employees, in addition to eventually hiring Max. I hoped that the store would be cleared as safe soon and that I could bring her on the team after that. It was completely understandable why her mom was hesitant to let her work with me until we found whoever robbed and started a fire in the store. Putting Max in any sort of danger was the last thing I ever wanted to do. If her mom knew the truth about the Upside Down and what happened with Vecna, I was sure that she would never again let her leave their house. I just had to be patient and let the police chief get everything figured out.
As if by some weird twist of fate, just as I was thinking about him, Chief Hopper came marching through the door. He looked around the store for a second before his eyes met mine. He had an unnervingly stern look on his face that was hard to read. It was clear that he wasn't here to browse for movies when he beelined right for me.
"Miss Bradford, we need to talk," he started, skipping any pleasantries.
"Of course, Chief. What seems to be the problem?" I asked as a nervous chill rolled down my spine.
"Do you have somewhere we can talk in private?" He asked as he crossed his arms.
"Oh, yes. Follow me," I said as I walked out from behind the front counter and started to lead him back into the office, where I had just been. "We can go to my office back here."
As I walked Chief Hopper to the back of the store, I caught Steve's eyes. He had a worried look on his face, but I tried not to let it get to me. I kept my cool as I opened the door to the office and sat down at my desk. The chief closed the door behind us and took a seat in the chair across from me.
"So, I assume that you know why I'm here," Hopper said sternly.
"Is this about the robbery? Have you found Paul, yet? Or any more information about what happened?" I asked, slightly rambling with my questions but trying to stay as calm as possible.
"You mean to tell me that you don't know?" he asked as his thick eyebrows furrowed.
"No, I don't. I'm in the dark here, sir," I said as I leaned forward on the desk.
"I apologize. I figured you heard the news since it broke this morning," the chief replied, ever so slightly softening his tone, but keeping a stoic look plastered on his face.
He continued after taking a moment to gather all his thoughts, "I did a welfare check at the address we could find for Paul. We needed to confirm his whereabouts and question him about the robbery, but when we located his property, we found that his house and the surrounding area had been burnt to a crisp."
"What do you mean, chief?" I asked as the shock began to take over.
"What I mean, Miss Bradford, is that his house, the trees, and the yard around it all have fire damage. We found his car still parked in the garage and bags packed by his front door," he continued. "We haven't been able to locate him. Being that you were the last person to see him, I have to ask if you know what happened or been in contact in any way."
I gulped before mustering a reply, "the last time I had contact with him was when I was kicking him out of the store. He said he was on his way to Florida for work but- but I swear, I haven't seen or heard from him since. One of our employees said that his "job offer" was a scam, so I figured that he just skipped town or didn't want to show his face here again after I forced him to leave. Did you find anything at his house that might point to where he actually went?"
"Well, there is something else that I wanted to discuss with you," Hopper said as he rubbed at his chin. "We found a bag in a back closet in his house. There was what looked like a bundle of singed cash. Nothing was salvageable from the damage, but I now feel comfortable in saying that he was the one that robbed the store."
"Wow... I thought it was him, but at least knowing it was makes me feel a bit better," I replied. "And there's really no sign of him?"
"No. We have our guys on it, but it doesn't look good," Hopper said. "I can't divulge too much about an open case, but they are searching for human remains on his property. From how the scene was laid out, it appears that he was preparing to leave town when the fire broke out. We're unsure if he was able to flee or- or if he died at the scene."
"Oh, holy shit," I said, taking in everything he had told me, finally realizing the gravity of his questions from earlier.
A fire? Another fire? It can't be... This can't be happening... What if this is the Upside Down... I don't know if I should tell him about the fires or talk to the others... Does he really think I had something to do with Paul disappearing? He doesn't think that I killed him, does he? Oh god...
"Holy shit is right," the chief said as he leaned back in his chair.
"What do you think?" I inquired. "Do you think he left, or do you think he's dead? Do we have to worry about him coming back to the store?"
"In my opinion, I don't think you'll be seeing him again. As of right now, especially with what you've relayed to me, it's not looking good," he replied. "I can send a patrol by here a few times a day until we have more answers and we're going to keep surveillance on the crime scene when it's done being worked."
"You asked if I had seen him, so can I ask, am I a suspect or something?" I asked with an air of uneasiness as I even spoke the words.
"No, I don't believe you were involved. I had to ask, seeing as you were the last person who saw him," Hopper answered honestly. "I hope you understand, I'm just doing my job. These are just the kinds of questions I have to ask with cases like this."
"No, I completely get it. I'm not offended, Chief. I just-" I started before taking a moment to collect myself. "This is all very overwhelming. I mean, the guy was an asshole and a thief, but he didn't deserve this. And you're sure it was a fire?"
"Couldn't have been anything else," the chief said as he started to get up and I followed suit. "The trees, the inside of the house, and even some of the grass was burnt all around it. We had to have the fire guys put out all the red embers that were left. Never seen anything like it."
My heart sank with the chief's final statement. I realized that I had to fill him in on what I and the others had been suspecting. Unsure of how to approach it, I wanted Steve to help me. After all, he had a history with Hopper and had much more experience with the Upside Down. If these fires were tied to that twisted, alternate dimension, we would need the chief on our side to get this situation handled properly. Steve would know how to approach this better than I would on my own.
"Chief? Can we go find Steve so we can talk to you about something?" I asked as I was met with a puzzled look from Hopper.
"Sure. What about?" He asked as he held the door open for me.
"Hopefully nothing," I answered ominously as I looked around for Steve, needing his support to have this heavy conversation.
Seeing as the store was empty, I went to lock the front doors and flipped the sign to show that we were closed. The last thing we needed was somebody overhearing this conversation that wasn't supposed to. We walked over to Steve, who was organizing the returns from last night at the front counter. I wasn't sure if I was quite ready to have this conversation, but I had to rip the Band-Aid off.
"Hey Hopp, what's up?" Steve asked as he shook the chief's hand.
"Hi, Steve. I was wondering the same thing," Hopper replied as he leaned against the back counter and I went to stand next to Steve, who was flashing me some major side eye.
Hopper continued, "your boss here was just telling me that you guys had some information for me."
"Steve, the chief told me that he went and searched Paul's house and found a whole bunch of fire damage," I said as Steve's eyes widened.
"Oh shit, I see," Steve said as he looked back toward the chief who had an equally puzzled look on his face.
"Can one you fill me in here, please?" He asked with a frustrated tone.
"That's not the first fire to happen," I answered solemnly.
"Elaborate, you two. Or we can go down to the station if that's easier?" The chief offered.
"She means that we've been noticing some weird coincidences again," Steve explained. "There was fire here at the store when it was robbed, there was one by Lover's Lake the other night, and now this."
"I also saw a deer in the trailer park that had these strange, glowing-red eyes. It was the same bright red glow of the embers that have been left behind at every fire," I spoke up.
"You don't think it's..." Hopper started to wonder.
"We don't know," Steve quickly answered.
"Shit. Shit! Okay, let me talk to Joyce but we need to get to the bottom of this. Are you two free on Thursday?" The chief asked and we both nodded.
He continued when we read our reactions, "okay. Meet me at my place then. 8 o'clock. Steve, you know where it is. Who else know about this?"
"Just us, and Dustin, and Robin, and Eddie," Steve answered.
"Fuck... Well alright, bring them, too," the chief said as he lifted his hat and scratched his head.
"Will do," Steve said. "And Hop, we'll get it figured out. We closed all the gates and El destroyed the link between our worlds. We all saw it. This can't be that again."
"I hope not, kid. I hope not," Hopper replied as he started walking toward the door. "See you both Thursday."
With that, I went to unlock the doors for him, and he made his swift exit. The look of nervousness on his face as he looked back at us from outside made me nearly quake in fear. I just went back to the desk and Steve went to flip the sign back to open, but I stopped him.
"I don't think I can do this today," I said as I clutched my chest. "I can't lie to every customer that walks in here and just pretend that I'm okay. Not right now, not after all of that."
"You want to close early?" Steve asked as he walked over to me.
"No, but yes," I said as I held my face in my hands and Steve wrapped his arms around me to comfort me. I leaned into his chest as a few tears fell from my face. I couldn't control my reaction. The feeling of helplessness was coursing through me.
I continued when I pulled back and tried my best to collect myself, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be crying over this. I just- I know what you all went through, and I don't want to think the worst, but the chief's reaction scared the shit out of me."
"Me too. I hope it's not what we think. I mean, it can't be. I saw the gates close, and the link between our worlds severed with my own eyes," Steve said. "We'll get to the bottom of this, okay? Please try not to worry until we know that we have a reason to."
"Yeah, I'll try," I said. "I just have to call Keith and tell him we're closing. Do you mind if I come over for a little bit?"
"I usually wouldn't, but my parents did get home early this morning. Not that I'd mind you meeting them, but they're not exactly comforting in stressful situations. Would you want to go to your place? Or Robin's?" Steve asked.
"Anywhere is fine. I just don't want to be alone right now," I answered as my tears finally stopped flowing.
"Me neither," Steve said. "Call Keith and then I'll call Robin and see what she wants to do while you count the other register, okay?"
"Okay," I said as I started dialing Keith's house. "Thank you, Steve."
"Don't mention it," he said with a wink as he went to start closing the register closest to him.
•••
Thankfully, I was able to reach Keith just before he had left his place. I told him that I could still pay him for working today and he tried to refuse but I insisted that he take it. The store wasn't in the red, even with the robbery, so I wanted to do him the favor considering we had the means.
Once I was done on the phone, I handed it over to Steve and started counting the second register. He called Robin and I could hear him filling her in a bit and making plans to hang out, but I stayed focused on counting my drawer. Luckily, we had only had a few customers, and I only needed to put a small bit of cash into the safe before leaving.
After securing the overflow cash in the safe, I went to join Steve in the locker room to grab our stuff. I was beyond ready to leave. I felt guilty for closing the store, but my mind was in a million different places, and I needed to be selfish today. Since I had the day off, I figured I would call Eddie wherever we wound up hanging out to see if he could come by. Just seeing him would make me feel better.
"So, where are we going?" I asked Steve as we headed toward the back door.
"Robin said we could head to her place," Steve said with a smile, trying to lighten my dark mood.
"You think she'll mind if I invite Eddie over when we get there?" I asked as I locked the door behind us.
"She suggested it," Steve said as he nodded.
He continued when we neared our cars, "you okay to drive? I know this is a lot to process."
"I'm okay. I'll just follow you there," I said as I grabbed my car keys from my bag and started unlocking the door.
"Perfect. I'll drive slow enough for you to keep up," Steve teased with a playful shove against my shoulder.
"Whatever, Harrington. You wish. You drive like a grandma," I joked.
"Oh, we'll see about that," Steve said as he ran over to his car and rushed to turn it on.
Oh, he wants to race... He's on...
Luckily, I had the advantage because I had turned my car on before Steve even reached his. I pulled out of the parking lot and started briskly making my way to Robin's house. I didn't want to speed too much, but I had to smoke him. Even though he had a nicer and newer car, I knew I could beat him.
I raced through town, a street ahead of Steve the whole time. He got close to me once, but I cut down a side street that Robin had showed me. That gave me even more of an advantage as I pulled down Robin's street and could just see Steve's car appearing in my rearview mirror as I threw my car into park. I promptly hopped out of my front seat, locked my car, and waited for Steve on Robin's driveway. He had a smug look on his face as he marched up to me.
"I let you win, Bradford," Steve said as he stood with his hands on his hips, standing close to me and glaring down.
"You wish," I said as I smirked at him, gloating my win. "I crushed you. Even in a Beemer, you couldn't beat me in your wildest dreams."
"Oh, really?" Steve said as he crossed his arms.
"Hey, you two want to come inside and fight?" A familiar, deep voice rang out from Robin's front door.
Eddie?! What is he doing here?!
In the haze of beating Steve, I hadn't even noticed that Eddie's van was parked in the driveway. He stayed leaning in the doorway as I quickly walked up to him. I threw my arms around him, and he leaned back for a moment to pull me in for a kiss. I swirled my lips with his, instantly melting into his calm, comforting touch. It was like the universe knew exactly what I needed after such a stressful morning.
"Get a room, freaks," Steve playfully scoffed as he pushed past us and into Robin's house.
I didn't dare let go of Eddie. I needed him close to me right now. I twisted my hands in his curls as he pushed me up against the side of the house so that we would have a bit more privacy. Eddie's hands hitched against my lower back, traveling lower and lower until he was cupping my ass, squeezing at my curves. A slight heat started to grow in my center, and I knew that I needed to pull away before things went too far outside on Robin's porch.
"Mm, we should probably go inside, sweetheart," Eddie purred as he teased me with a few soft kisses down my neck, echoing my reluctant thoughts.
"You're the one who won't stop kissing me," I said as I released his curls and held the sides of his face in my hands. "What are you doing here, by the way?"
"Not happy to see me? Could have fooled me with how you jumped my bones right here for everyone in the neighborhood to see," Eddie joked with a devilish smirk.
"No, I am. I always want to see you," I answered. "I just wasn't expecting you to be here."
"Well, when a frantic Robin calls, who would I be to ignore her?" Eddie said before he kissed me forehead and sling his arm around my shoulder to lead me inside. "She called me after Steve talked to her. Long story short, she told me to get my ass over here. Well, she actually just told me to get my ass here, so here I am."
"Thank you for coming. I was going to call you when I got here, but I'm happy that you're here now," I said as I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"I know it's not the day off we had been talking about but I'm always here for you, baby. Everything is going to be okay. I promise," he said as we walked into the house and he closed the door behind us.
We sat on the couch with Robin and Steve when we made our way into the living room. They were sitting on the floor, bickering about who would roll a joint, so I turned my focus back to Eddie. He held me close to him as I cuddled against his chest. I didn't care how cheesy we were being in front of our friends, I just needed to be close to him.
"Guys, chill," Eddie said as he reached into his vest pocket with his free hand and pulled out a rolled joint. "I'll light this and then you can both roll up, or I can help you fools out."
"Robin might need your help, but I got this," Steve said mocking Robin. "Light it up, Munson."
"You know what," Robin said as she pushed Steve's shoulder. "You're on. We'll both roll one and they can vote whose is better."
Eddie leaned back into the couch and sparked up his joint, while Robin and Steve got to work rolling their own. They were hilariously competitive with each other, and I was relieved that they didn't ask me to join in on their game. I had never learned how to roll and had skated by without having to know how, until today. As if reading my mind, Eddie flashed me a look while he passed his perfect joint to me.
"Here sweetheart," Eddie said as I grabbed the joint from him. "You want to try and compete with them?"
"Ha, I wish," I said as I took a long drag before responding more. "If I knew how, I would. Plus, I'm enjoying watching them try to annihilate each other."
"I'll have to teach you sometime," Eddie said with a wink as he threw his hands behind his head and relaxed into the couch.
"Here, Robin," I said as I leaned over and handed the joint to her.
She grabbed it from me and held it in-between her lips as she started rolling her joint. She had an adorably serious look on her face as she focused on her work. Steve was already almost done with his, so she had some catching up to do. I wanted to have faith in Robin, but Steve's was looking almost as good as Eddie's.
As the joint made a few more rounds, Steve and Robin finished up their joints. They got up off the floor and joined Eddie and me on the couch. I snuggled up to Robin as Steve took a spot on the other side of her. Before we got totally blitzed, I wondered if we should wait for Vickie. I didn't know where she was, but I didn't want her to feel left out if she was in their bedroom or on her way home from work.
"Do you think we should wait for Vickie?" I asked as Robin grabbed the lighter that Eddie was holding out for her. "Where is she, by the way?"
"No, no, it's okay," Robin said as she sparked her joint. "She's working late tonight, and she doesn't smoke much anyways. She'd probably hit it twice and fall asleep. It's actually pretty cute..."
Robin trailed off as she took the first hit. She ran her fingers up along the sides of the paper, trying to smooth the dimples to ensure that it burned evenly, but it looked like it was smoking just fine. After taking two hits, she passed it over to me. I lifted myself off of her as I started smoking. It was a little tight of a hit, but I wasn't going to judge it until we had finished Steve's.
"Shit, this is pretty good, Robin," Eddie exclaimed when I passed it over to him.
I watched him as he took a hit and inhaled the smoke through his nose as it trickled out of his mouth. He held in the smoke until he barely had anything left to breathe out. I was pretty sure it was called a 'French-inhale' and it was mesmerizing to watch. He could make anything attractive, even something as simple as hitting a joint. Eddie raised his eyebrows and winked at me when he caught me staring. He took his second hit and reached behind Robin and me, to pass the joint over to Steve. His arm rested behind me and he trailed his fingers up and down my upper arm as he held me close to him.
"What's up with you, Steve?" Robin asked as she furrowed her brows. "I mean don't get me wrong, I don't mind the silence, but you usually don't shut up."
"Says the chatterbox herself," Steve said as he chuckled. "Nothing's wrong. Just- just processing today?"
"Tell us, Stevie boy," Eddie teased as he leaned around Robin and me to look at Steve.
"Violet didn't tell you?" Steve asked.
"Is this about what you told me on the phone?" Robin chimed in.
"Can someone fucking fill me in?" Eddie wondered as a confused look spread across his face.
"Oh, it's nothing. The police chief basically accused me of arson today and said that the guy who robbed the store was probably missing or dead," I calmly answered as their jaws dropped listening to me.
"What the hell?" Eddie yelled as he jumped up off the couch, pinching his nose between his ring-covered fingers.
"Chief Hopper came in today to give an update about the robbery," I continued as I hit the joint that Robin rolled. "He um- he went to question Paul and found the place completely scorched."
"No," Robin said, dragging out the end of the word as the shock set in.
"Oh yes, Robin," Steve said in a serious tone. "He wants to meet with us on Thursday. Us four and Henderson, that is."
"No, we're not dragging Henderson into this," Eddie protested.
"Too late, Eddie," Steve retorted as I passed the joint to Eddie, hoping he would calm down a bit. "He already knows about the fire at Lover's Lake. He's not going to just drop this until we figure it out. You know how he is. He's involved whether we like it or not."
"No," Robin repeated as she stared blankly ahead.
Eddie took his seat back on the couch after passing Steve the joint. It was almost out, so he only hit it once before giving it back to Robin to finish. She put it out after taking the last drags. As she settled back into the couch, she sunk into her shoulders and anxiously fiddled with her fingers. I hated seeing her this nervous. It was usually in a charming or adorable way, but to see her so frazzled like this, I could tell she was terrified.
As Steve's joint made its way around, we sat in silence. No-one knew what the right thing to say was. The high from the weed was calming us a bit, but it wasn't enough to mask our collective fear. It was radiating from each of us, practically tangible as we accepted the inevitably dangerous journey ahead of us. They had the advantage of knowing what we were getting into, regardless of how terrifying it was to be experiencing again. I wasn't sure how I was going to handle this, but I wasn't going to back down from this fight.
This is our town... These are my friends... We've got this...
"Steve, you've got a true winner here," Eddie said to break the tension in the room.
"Mm, I figured I would do better than Robin but thanks man," Steve smugly joked as Robin rolled her eyes. "Coming from the master of pot and puppets himself, that means a lot."
"Sure, you win this round," Robin said with a laugh. "I'm coming for you next time."
I couldn't help but giggle at their silly competition. The world was imploding around us but somehow, we were laughing and couldn't have another care in this moment. I felt nothing but safe and comfortable with them surrounding me.
Robin skipped her hit as she was about to fall asleep, and I gladly grabbed the joint from Steve. He yawned as it left his hand, and he rested back into the couch. As the smoke reached my waiting lungs, I saw his eyes start to flutter and eventually close. I thought about trying to wake them when they both passed out, but we all had long nights ahead of us, and I figured that I should just let them sleep. Eddie and I finished up the joint between us. It still didn't smoke as well as Eddie's, but the weed was the same, so that made it tolerable. At this point, I was biased to Eddie's perfect rolling skills. He would have to teach me at some point, like he'd offered earlier. I was sure that once I learned, I could try to beat him.
"Come with me," Eddie said softly after he put out the joint, stood up, and held his hand out to me.
"Where are we going?" I whispered as I grabbed his hand, not wanting to wake up the now-sleeping Robin and Steve.
"There's a spare bedroom back here," Eddie said as he pulled me up off the couch and pointed to the hallway just past the kitchen. "I need to kiss you."
A satisfying chill went rippling through my body as Eddie led me through Robin and Vickie's house. It felt a little too naughty to do this with our friends right down the hall, but I would have been lying if I said that I didn't also need to be close to him. Today had been so draining and he always knew how to make me feel better.
Eddie closed the door behind us and leaned against the door as I sat down on the edge of the bed. He quietly twisted the lock shut before coming over to join me. I was too distracted by Eddie to think about anything else. All I knew was that I wanted to forget about this stressful day and get lost in him. Kissing him wasn't going to be enough, I needed something more. Eddie seemed to have the same idea as he laid me back on the bed and rested his hands against the sides of my face as he pulled me into him. My lips melted into his as I twisted my hands in his curls. Not breaking our kiss, I lifted myself from the bed to straddle him. As I ground myself into him, his hands trailed down my sides until they were hitched around my hips. I loved being close to him like this. He was the perfect medicine after a day like today.
I ran my hands down his shoulders until his vest and leather jacket were laying down behind him. I'd just planned in kissing him when he had pulled me off the couch, but I was suddenly craving more. As I laid sweet kisses down Eddie's neck, he flipped us over so that he was on top of me. He rested his knee between my thighs, and I rubbed myself against him. The pressure building in me was almost too much to stand.
I need him... I need him now...
"Please fuck me, Eddie," I lightly moaned as I pulled him down to kiss me.
Our lips moved together until Eddie pulled back for a moment, "we can't do that here baby, but I'm dying to taste you."
"Mm, I'd like that," I whispered as Eddie started kissing me down my jawline, ending at the base of my neck.
He pulled my t-shirt and long sleeve down just enough to leave a few love bites underneath its surface. As he started teasing my nipples through my clothes, thunderbolts of pleasure shot through me. I promptly moved my hands from him to start undoing my jeans. I managed to shimmy them down to my knees and Eddie sat up to fully take them off. He unlaced my boots, quietly set them on the floor next to the bed, and swiftly pulled my pants the rest of the way off.
Eddie climbed back up to me and pulled me in for another deep kiss. My center was pulsing with anticipation, but I didn't want this to end just yet. I loved kissing Eddie and felt like I could do it for hours. My tongue danced with his when our lips parted. As always, I let him take the lead. I twisted and turned, following his intoxicating movements. I wrapped my legs around him as one of his hands moved down to my center, touching me over the thin material of my panties.
I circled my hips against his touch as Eddie pulled away from our embrace. He kissed me once more on the forehead before sliding down and positioning himself between my already trembling thighs. As he moved my underwear to the side, I threw my head back into the fluffy pillows behind me. All I wanted to do was cry out in pleasure as Eddie started sliding his fingers inside of me, but we had to be quiet. If we got caught in here, we would never live this down.
I reached down for Eddie's free hand, which was tightly gripping my thigh, and pulled it up to mine. As I twisted my fingers with his, me moved my mouth to my core. His tongue swirled across my bundle of nerves as he continued his steady rhythm inside of me. His two, thick fingers felt like a dream. The combined pleasure of his mouth and his hand were quickly going to send me over the edge. Eddie moved sensually in me as I looked down on him. My whole body started vibrating as he slowly moved in and out of my core. He was usually so rough with me, which I loved, but this pace was a welcome change. We were going to have to try it like this more often.
I was inching closer and closer to my finish but didn't feel like I should say anything. I knew Eddie could feel it as he steadied his pace. I squeezed Eddie's fingers as my climax started. His thumb circled against my hand as he kept up his steady, slow movements inside of me. As I started riding out my high, I almost died of embarrassment when a small moan escaped my lips. Eddie's eyes flashed up at me as he let me finish fully before moving up to hover right over my face. He took the hand that was just inside of me and shoved his two, wet fingers past my lips, resting them on my tongue. He held my jaw as he glared devilishly down at me.
"You need to be quiet when I start again," Eddie roughly whispered.
"I already finished, baby," I said quietly when he moved his hand from my face, tracing along my jaw.
He watched as I licked my lips, tasting myself, before he continued, "I know. I want to watch you come again. Think you can be a good girl and stay quiet?"
"Oh fuck," I said softly as he wasted no time and resumed what he was just doing to me. "Yes, I can, Eds. I promise."
I rolled my hips against his fingers as he squeezed his free hand tightly around my hip. The sides of his rings dug into my skin and felt so incredibly good. The mixture of his rough grip and soft touch was going to make me explode. I was trying as hard as I could not to gush all over him, but I wasn't going to let that happen here. We had enough to hide from Robin and Steve already and if I wound up soaking the bed, it would make it that much harder to keep this our little secret.
Eddie built up his steady rhythm again, this time sliding three fingers inside of me instead of two. His tongue traced my name on my clit as the heat began to build in me once more. I was still unbelievably sensitive from my first orgasm, and I was close to a second. My fingers of my left hand gripped tightly into the purple bedspread, and I covered my mouth with the right. Eddie's eyes flicked up to me and I could fill his lips forming a smile as he started to feel me reach my finish.
The wave crashed even harder this time and I had to literally bite my tongue to keep myself from making any noise. I was sure that Eddie liked to see me struggle like this. We had never been as risky as we were being right now, and it was fueling the passion between the both of us. He kept up his steady, slow pace while he felt me clenching around him. My eyes rolled into the back of my head as I let the intense pleasure roll through me.
When I was good and finished, I pulled Eddie up to kiss me once before rushing to put my clothes back on. We had to get out of here as quickly as we walked in. There was still a good chance that Robin and Steve were still asleep, and I didn't want to risk getting caught by staying in here any longer than we had to. As I sat on the edge of the bed and re-tied my boots, Eddie sat behind me and kissed me down my neck as he pulled his jacket and vest back on. I wanted to turn around, pin him to the bed, and have my way him, but we had to go. I turned back to face him before getting up again.
"Should we walk out together, or should I wait in here for a minute?" I asked as I rested a hand on Eddie's flushed cheek.
"Well, if we get caught, let's get caught together," Eddie said with a laugh.
"I'll follow you into the hellfire," I joked, using the name of his DND club, much to his delight.
"Sweetheart, if you're going to keep talking dirty to me like that, we're going to have to take this back to my place," he said as he raised his eyebrows at me, and a smirk grew on his pretty face.
"We can go there after the arcade. That is, if you're coming with us," I said, remembering that he had been vague about his plans tonight.
"Robin did say Vickie was working late. I can drive you guys, if you want," Eddie offered, confirming that he was going to join us.
"Sounds like a plan," I said.
"A date?" Eddie asked after sweetly kissing my cheek and tucking my hair behind my ear.
"Yes, a date. I'll just get ready here before we leave," I said as I stood up and held my hands out to help Eddie off of the bed.
We straightened up the covers and prepared ourselves for whatever we found on the other side. Best case would be that our friends were still passed out from the potent joints we'd smoked, and worst case was being mocked and ridiculed for the end of time.
Please be asleep... Please be asleep... Please... Be... Asleep...

Summer Days and Summer Nights Part 16
Summary: Living in the city can get pretty boring, your hoping that this season is more interesting than the last. Although living in a tiny flat with your little brother certainly isn’t helping matters.
Characters: You (reader) x Billy Russo.
Warnings: Swearing, violence, kidnapping, itsy bit of torture.
Word Count: 1k+
{Part 15}
If you are under 18 DNI. Anyone under 18 can please FUCK OFF NOW. This ain’t for you. I do not consent to my works being copied, shared or rewritten.
An: Short one today, had to get COVID swabbed so I'm not feeling great. Hope you guys like it. //Sorry! it took me a day to realise I had numbered this wrong!
Tumblr media
“So Coop things are getting pretty serious with Hudson,” you said, sipping at your hot chocolate as you walked down the street, the cool air of late fall nipping at your heels.
“Yeh” he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck, “What about Billy? He seems like a good guy, like he keeps you outa trouble.”
“He tries though I don't like his chances against my feet” you joke and Cooper snorts at your admission.
“You know you can always have your old room back, it's only a gym. We can move all that stuff out.”
“Nah I'm good,”
“No wonder, living the lush life up in that penthouse”
“Fuck off Coop, you know it's not about the money,” You swat him on the arm.
“Yeh, yeh I get it. He's pretty hot if your into that kinda thing,”
“What kinda thing?” you ask, raising your brow at him.
“You know, tall, dark and handsome”
“Fuck you. You make him sound like a cliche,”
Your brother continued to tease you all the way back to your old apartment. You had spent the day together. You seemed to be so busy these days after taking Peter on as your assistant 2 days a week to ease the workload. It didn't. All it seemed to do was make sure you crammed as much as you could in the two days. But you needed the help and Pete needed the money, god you were pretty sure the only person busier than you in the city was Peter. He worked two days for you, 2 days he interned with doctor storm, plus his pizza job. Poor kid needed the pay you were giving him so he could lose the pizza gig and spend some time with MJ.
“Want me to call you a cab?” Cooper pulled you out of your trance.
“That'd be great thanks Runt don't fancy walking, looks like it might rain”
Xx
Climbing into the back of the cab and something felt off, maybe it was just that you hadn't gotten a cab in a while? Billy did tend to spoil you, even though you had told him repeatedly it wasn’t necessary.
Giving the woman your address she pulls out from the curb and your nerves are put at ease. You watch the city pass by as she winds the normal route through the city. Your mind drifts thinking about what you'll make Billy for dinner when he gets home. If he’ll be home late again, maybe ask him to take a vacation with you. You don't even notice when the cab stops.
“This isn't my building,” you said leaning forward to get closer to the driver. She smirks at you and before you even notice anything a sharp sting radiates through your arm, your eyes fight to stay open and your limbs fall flat against the backseat of the cab.
“Billy,” you mumbled before your eyes finally closed.
Your eyes twitch open, when you feel something hard hit your leg. Your eyes slowly adjust to the low lighting. You see a man sneering at you from across the room, he’s short and honestly looks like a complete tool. The room you're in is big, the concrete is cold on your bare feet, metal beams surrounding you like a cage, a warehouse. Wow, they’re so original. You try to rub your eye, but only feel a burn in your wrist when you try to move.
“She's finally awake” you hear the man call from across the room. You stay silent, not sure what these fuckers want with you. Glaring at them, with the meanest look you can muster. You try to kick this asshole, but it appears your legs are also bound. Fuck.
“Bitch”, the man's palm connects harshly with your face, you flinch, eyes flying open. You don’t recognise him, as if you would. Like you’ve ever met a man this foul in your life.
“I don't know anything,” you spit. “He doesn't tell me about his work on purpose.”
“Who?” He asked, taking a step back, seeming to actually look at you.
“My boyfriend that's why I'm here right? You're using me to lure him out,” you state thinking there were probably safer ways for them to draw Billy out.
“Don't know shit about your precious boy toy, you little cunt,”
“Wh- why am I here then?”
“We know you've been going around town stealing our tech, you little bitch” his hand connected with your face again.
“You- you what?” you hiss at him not really sure what the fuck this wanker is on.
“You and that partner of yours have been sabotaging our plans for months! No more.” He shouts at you, his rings slashing across your face.
“Hammer,” You look up at him, fire burning in your soul. You begin to thrash in your chair. You saw in a movie that if you thrash around enough you could break the chair. But his hand reaches behind you, stilling your movements with a glare.
“Hammer,” He confirms hitting you again and you see something glint in the light
“Now you're going to tell me the name of your associate.”
“My boyfriend isn't gunna be happy when he finds out you marked me,” You spit your blood in his face, “get fucked.”
“No little bitch” he grabs you by the hair, yanking your neck back, “you're the one who's about to be fucked.” You wince as the knife connects with your collarbone, warm blood spilling down your chest.
“Tell me his name” he threatens, gliding the knife down your arm. You don't answer, tears falling from your eyes as blood trickles down your side.
He cuts you again and again trying to draw a name from you, but you keep your mouth shut, only small whimpers that you couldn’t keep in escape. But you knew, knew that if you had to die to keep one kid from queens safe. So be it. You head lulls after God knows how long and you finally pass out from the pain.
The sound of gunfire draws you from your slumber, but you're too out of it to even register what's going on. Are they shooting you now? Better now than later. You conjure up a picture of Billy in your mind, his warm smile, the way his hand is always resting on you somewhere, his soft kiss, the smell of his masculine cologne, the fire in his eyes when someone dares come near you.
Your eyes blur as you dream of him, his strong arms slashing through your assailants, his face covered in the blood of your enemies. The fierce delight he would take in ripping them apart.
Your body is being moved by thick arms hoisting you in the air, This is it. They're moving you to kill you. Closing your eyes you rest in the knowledge that with you dead they'll never find Peter.

Hiya!
I'm not sure if you got my previous ask and have just been busy or if Tumblr ate it, but do you have any time travel fic recs? (Drarry or otherwise). Thanks a lot, and sending much love and thanks for all the stuff you do xx
Hello and thank you for the kind words! I’m sorry it took me a while to reply, my inbox has been a bit overwhelming lately and I’m slowly working my way though all the asks. Time travel is such a cool trope, I always have a blast when I read it. These are my faves, hope you enjoy them as well :)
Draco at Nineteen by birdsofshore (2015, Explicit, 5k)
It's the middle of the night and Harry Potter is sitting on my bed looking distinctly weird. I've had some fucked-up dreams in my time, but this one... this one is something new.
An Emerald In The Sky by @corvuscrowned (2022, Mature, 6.6k)
The hardest part about shagging an Unspeakable is that they’re not allowed to speak of anything. All Draco knows is that Harry works in Time. Harry works in Time, and while he’s out there in all of that time, it is as unforgiving to him as it is to anyone.
Swish and Flick by @unmistakablyoatmeal (2013, Explicit, 7k)
The Swish and Flick is the last place Draco wants to spend his Saturday evening—especially when he discovers Potter is also in attendance—and he can't wait for the night to end. Unfortunately for Draco, time is not on his side.
Primal Urges by @heyitsamorette (2012, Explicit, 10k)
An eighth year fic …er ... or should I say, a prehistoric fic? Draco gets hurtled back in time and meets caveman!Potter, who seems to like him much more than normal!Potter. Quite a bit more, actually.
Brevem Conspectum by lauren3210 (2014, Explicit, 11.7k)
During a routine clearing of an old Death Eater house, Harry stumbles over an ancient spell that sends him somewhere completely different. He has to work out where he is and how to get back. Or if he even wants to.
The Eighth Tale by @letteredlettered (2012, Explicit, 12k)
Draco Malfoy tries to fix the past, but instead mucks it up some more. For Harry, it all becomes quite clear.
flashback, warm nights by warmfoothills (2020, Mature, 13k)
“What’s killing me is that I actually quite fucking like Christmas, festival-for-a-personally-irrelevant-religion-turned-commercialised-garbage-holiday though it may be, and now I’m stuck in the perpetual almost-there of it all with an idiot who gets himself cut up every time no matter how differently I try and do things!”
Boats, but Not the Ocean by @p1013 (2020, Explicit, 15.5k)
If Draco ever gets his hands on this Bill Murray character, he's going to kill him.
Just a Matter of Time by @gracerene09 (2019, Explicit, 23k)
Draco's in a bit of a rut. He's nearing forty, divorced, and he still can't figure out how to make his Time Turner reconstruction work. He's bored, he can admit it, so he's not nearly as concerned as he should be when his pet project malfunctions and sends him twenty years into the past.
At the Crossroads There We’ll Meet by @firethesound (2014, Explicit, 24.5k)
Potter keeps dying; Draco keeps saving him.
Fast Forward, Two Steps Back by emmagrant01 (2011, E, 36k)
Everyone knows that Draco Malfoy died in the Room of Requirement ten years ago. So when he suddenly reappears at Hogwarts ten years later, still seventeen years old, Professor Harry Potter's life gets very complicated.
Annus Mirabilis by Ren (2013, Explicit, 39.6k)
Harry and Malfoy are trapped at Hogwarts around the time the school was founded. Stuck with a different way of doing magic, with no chocolate, and with each other, they have to find a way to work together if they want a chance to go home.
Eternally Consistent by kitsunealyc (2016, Explicit, 44.5k)
Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter assumed they would never be anything but civil enemies, until Potter lands on Malfoy's doorstep, bleeding, covered in curses, and acting very strangely indeed.
Tea and No Sympathy by who_la_hoop (2014, Explicit, 70k)
It's Potter's fault, of course, that Draco finds himself trapped in the same twenty-four-hour period, repeating itself over and over again. It's been nearly a year since the unpleasant business at Hogwarts, and Draco's getting on with his life quite nicely, thank you, until Harry sodding Potter steps in and ruins it all, just like always.
Timecode by Rasborealis (2019, Mature, 73k)
Harry Potter has been dead for two years, and Draco would laugh in the face of anyone claiming differently. Well, anyone but Hermione Granger.
Tempus Fugit by Poison Pen (2004, R, 93k)
A monumental cock-up in Potions means that Harry and Draco have more to contend with than mutual enmity. A journey of discovery, self-reflection and love.
Turning Leaves by @kbrick (2021, Explicit, 112k)
Draco and Harry have a one-night stand that ends in disaster after Harry tells Draco he's unable to move beyond their poisonous past. So when Draco finds an unusual Time-Turner in the Department of Mysteries, he seizes the opportunity to start fresh with Harry. Only instead of fixing things, he keeps making them worse.
Far From The Tree by aideomai (2020, Explicit, 112k)
The arrival of Harry Potter’s children—snapped back in time, the children themselves guessed, twenty or so years—was the most interesting thing to happen at Hogwarts for years.

When Poe said he was going into the Air Force, you wanted to cry and slap him and tell him "no." But you also wanted to spend almost every waking moment with him and saying "I love you."
Whilst Poe was away, you spent every Monday and Friday with his father Kes. Kes was just as worried for Poe as you were. This was because Poe was his only family he had left. When Poe was young, his mother died in a flight accident. And since then Kes worried about Poe whenever he done one of his stupid stunts.
*************************
Dear sweetheart,
I honestly can't tell you how much I hate being away from you, and how much I am missing you. I wish that the two of us could be on that beach again with beebs from our last holiday. It's boring without you next to me darling. Just wish I could feel your touch again.
I'm going on a mission soon. I'm not sure how long I'll be in the air for, but it shouldn't be too long. The boys pick on me for having your picture amongst my stuff. It's in that book I said I got, to keep it nice and so it won't get creased.
Its a beautiful picture of you. I really like that summer dress on you.
I love you with all my heart.
Your pilot,
Poe xx
You smiled everytime you got a letter from Poe. Although sometimes you couldn't really read the pencil scribble, cause it was written in such haste. The two of you sent regular letters, sometimes you would add a photo and a small flower.
Darling Poe,
I think I miss you just as much as you miss me. I know that Beebs definitely misses you, he keeps sitting in your spot and whining.
I hope you are well my love. I wish you could be here holding me. Breena McKenna got a telegram the other day. Both Joseph and Richard died at Omaha Beach. Beebs and I went over there to comfort her. I wish you would've been here to help.
I hope that this war ends soon, so that I can be back in your arms again. Stay safe my pilot.
I love you so much.
Your sweetheart,
Y/n. Xx
You started to worry though. Poe's letters hadn't been arriving, and you thought that maybe he was busy. But it dragged on, and the pit of worry started to form in your stomach.
You and Breena were out on your porch, when two men dressed in military uniform came up to you. Breena looked at you, worry starting to show on her face.
"Mrs Dameron?" One asked,
"That's me." You replied feeling Breena's hand touch yours gently. The other guy gave you a telegram, and you felt your heart stutter for a moment. Opening the telegram, you saw 4 words written neatly on the paper.
'Lieutenant Poe Dameron. MIA.'
You felt tears threatening to spill onto your cheek.
"E-excuse me, what does MIA mean?" You ask to double check you knew what it meant,
"Missing in action. I'm sorry Ma'am." The first man replied. As the men left, you felt your breathing pick up.
"Y/n come inside." Breena stated quietly. But you didn't get inside, you fell to the ground and started to sob.
"H-he promised Breena. He promised me he'd come home." You whimpered as Breena held you.
****************************
Somewhere in France:
Poe's plane had been shot down by a Messerschmitt 109. Now he was floating down to the ground.
"Shit... shit." Poe said as the parachute drifted towards some trees. He managed to miss the trees and land safely on the ground.
The only things Poe had on him was a knife and his side arms. He looked around and found that he was completely alone. It was quiet and everything around Poe seemed to be completely still. That was until he heard a twig snap.
"Flash" a voice came,
"Thunder." Poe replied. Out of the woods came a platoon of airborne troopers. Easy company.
"What's your name trooper?" A sergeant asked,
"Lieutenant Poe Dameron 2nd squadron." Poe replied looking at the small platoon of airborne troopers.
"Sergeant Lypton sir. What's an air force officer doing in the middle of the woods sir?" Lypton asked,
"Plane got shot down. Just a simple recon mission." Poe stated.
"We'll get you back to our section sir and you can talk to Captain Winters." Lypton said. The platoon formed in to staggered form, with Poe walking next to Lypton.
All of the sudden bullets started to fly through the air. Everyone dropped to the ground and started to fire back. The tree near Poe exploded and wood fragments went into his leg and partially into his side. Lypton heard Poe scream in pain and instantly went to help him.
"Sir!! It's alright you're gonna be alright. Poe come on stay with me." Lypton shouted applying pressure to Poes wounds. Lyptons hands were covered in blood. In Poe's blood.
Poe could feel his body getting lifted up and carried. But other than that Poe's senses had gone and he was on the verge of passing out.
When Poe came round, he found himself in a tent amongst other men. He tried to move but as he did he felt the pain yet dulled down go through his side and down his leg.
"Try not to move sir." A voice from next to him said,
Poe looked to his side and saw Sergeant Lypton. Poe smiled a little and laid his head back down.
"Is it bad?" Poe asked, his voice slightly croaky,
"If I'm honest sir. Your leg is in quite bad shape sir, but you still have it. You're getting transferred nearer to where your base is." Lypton explained.
"Okay, thank you Lypton. Thanks for helping me." Poe responded,
"It's my pleasure sir, stay safe." Lypton stated standing up and saluting. Poe slauted back and rested for the rest of the day.
Later that day, Poe had managed to get transferred to an aid station right near his base. His best friend Snap came into the tent and found him.
"Shit Poe, we thought you died." Snap stated hugging Poe,
"I thought I did for a moment. I- I need to call Y/n she'll be worried as hell and so would dad." Poe groaned.
"Alright, here." Snap pulled up a wheel chair and helped Poe into it. "Careful Poe, I've got you." Snap continued,
Snap wheeled Poe of the Aid tent, and found a spare phone that wasn't in use. Snap left Poe for a bit, so he could talk to you and his father in private.
Your phone rang and your head snapped up from where it was reading the newspaper. You quickly went over to it and picked it up.
"Hello?" You stated,
"Y/n? It's Poe... darling it's me." Poe responded. Your heart stopped.
"Poe? It's you, are you alright? What happened? Oh I can hear you." You said sobbing over the phone,
"I'm alright apart from my leg and my side but don't worry. Baby listen to me, I'm gonna see you very soon I promise." Poe said closing his eyes, tears coming to his.
"You're coming home?" You asked,
"Yeah baby, im coming home." Poe replied. "I'll be home soon Y/n, I love you so much." He continued.
"I love you too, be careful Poe." You responded finally smiling after days. As soon as Poe hung up, you ran over to Breena's.
"Breena!! He's alive!!" You exclaimed,
"What?" She asked.
"Poe! He's alive." You said. She smiled and hugged you. Breena really didn't want you to go through what she did with her brothers.
Snap took him back to the tent, and helped him back onto the bed.
"We're gonna miss the hell out of Poe." Snap stated,
"I know you will, we'll go for drinks once this shit is over yeah?" Poe replied, snap smiled and agreed.
**************************
A few days later:
Poe was finally on his way back to you. He had all of his belongings, especially the book he had with your picture inside of it. He was in full uniform, but he was also on crutches so his leg could continue to heal properly.
You heard a knock at your door, and you quickly brushed yourself down before answering it. As you answered it, your jaw dropped to see your pilot. You smiled and hugged him and felt one of his hands come to your back.
"Hey baby." Poe whispered,
"Hi." You replied holding back a sob.
"I'm home." Poe said kissing you on the forehead. You smiled tearfully and felt him wipe the tears away. Helping Poe into the house, you looked over him fully. There he was wearing uniform, but on crutches at the same time.
"What?" Poe asked, noticing you looking at him,
"You look handsome in uniform." You responded smiling and smoothing down the lapel of his jacket. Poe blushed, and it wasn't often you could get Poe to blush.
"Thank you honey." He smiled back kissing you gently. All of a sudden you heard the quick patter and sliding of nails on hard wood floor. Beebs, your and Poe's yellow labrador came barrowling through the house and practically jumped at Poe. Poe landed with a soft grunt and a groan which quickly turned into laughter.
"Hey buddy I missed you too." Poe stated smiling "you been doing your job beebs?" He continued playing with Beebs. Poe played with Beebs a little longer and then Beebs went off to have dinner.
"Do you want help honey?" You asked Poe who was still sitting on the floor,
"Yes please darling." Poe replied, you helped him up and gave him back his crutches.
"I'm going to get out of this uniform." He continued,
"Okay sweet." You replied and watch him go off into your shared bedroom. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Breena walking up your walk. She smiled at you.
"Is he okay?" She asked,
"He's on crutches but at least he's in one piece." You replied smiling back. And speaking of the devil, Poe came back dressed in normal clothing for the first time in over a year.
"Hey Breena." Poe smiled,
"Hi Poe, how are you?" Breena asked.
"As best as i can be in these." Poe gestured to the crutches, "I'm sorry to hear about your brothers." He continued,
"It's alright, we all knew it could happen. You're a lucky man to have this lady here Poe, she has the kindest heart out of everyone I know." Breena replied smiling. You smiled and blushed a little. Breena said goodbye and left the two of you be, for the rest of the day. The two of you sat together cuddled up on the sofa, sharing soft glances and sweet kisses.
"Does it hurt?" You asked quietly,
"Only a little, but not as bad as it did when it happened." Poe replied kissing the top of your head.
You were so glad to have Poe home. Although he was still recovering from his injuries, he was there.
You had your little family back.

It girl pt. 6 - They know
Tumblr media
Pairing: Mentor!Natasha Romanoff x Mentee!Reader, Platonic!Avengers x reader, Peter Parker x Reader
Warning: This chapter is just angst. Maybe a little fluff in the end if you squint hard enough. But the Bonus Scenes are pure fluff. xx
Summary: Natasha had once joked about picking a random new recruit trainee to teach all her skills since Tony had recently become Peter’s mentor. Fury sees this as a legitimate idea, and asks Natasha to choose her protège, code name: “it girl”.
A/N: The long-ass series has finally come to an end. Thank you to all the supporters, and please stay till the end if you wanna read some deleted scenes ;)
Prologue  Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5
———————————————————————
The remaining Avengers returned to the compound completely defeated, no one dared to utter a word as they retreated. For the first time in many years, they lost. Tony's whereabouts were still unknown, and the only string of hope left was the pager that Fury left behind.
The encounter with Carol Danvers, Tony returning to Earth weak and crushed, it only furthered their sorrow. The realization that Thanos had committed mass-murder on the universe, and they couldn't do anything to stop him. Even their last hope burned out, as Thanos had already gotten rid of the stones.
Natasha coped with losing you like how she always did. Built a thicker wall around her than before, spent her time in the gym and working. Every time she walked by your room in the compound, her mind replayed your smaller figure, twirling around the room in the ballgown you found in the closet.
She opens the door to land her eyes on the closet door, which you took the liberty of painting the Black Widow logo on it. She wipes a stray tear with her thumb, her soft sniffles loud in the soundless room.
Because of her devoted work, the orphans were safe with shelter and food. The Avengers was running smoothly even though the men just abandoned their work. When the sun shone through the glass walls and the light reflected off of her computer, it was fine. But once the moon rose in the dark night, her ears played cruel tricks on her, making her hear the little hums and laughs of yours.
"Natashen'ka. That's actually a pretty cool nickname, Ms. Nat."
"Haha, anything to get you to stop calling me 'Ms. Nat'."
During nights like this, she often found herself in the Philosophic room you spent so much time in, looking at little notes and gadgets left behind by you. MINT was a great listener, showing Natasha multiple mini videos of you blowing things up and freaking out.
You allowed yourself into Natasha's heart in the short span of a year, and she found herself welcoming you into her fragile heart like a daughter she never had. In the 5 years without you, she never forgot about you. She didn't put the stocked up cookies in your cupboard away, and she didn't even think of cleaning up your room in the compound.
But more and more, she started to heal herself, gradually coming to softly smile when she saw your bedroom door instead of crying.
But everything changed when Scott Lang pulled up into the Avengers Compound, with what seemed like an impossible plan to save the universe. She couldn't give that chance up. Even if it was a one in a million possibility, she wanted to give you a second chance. You were an extraordinary girl, and you were going to do great things someday. She knew that ever since she appointed you 'it girl' of the Avengers.
So she had to speak up when Tony rejected her, Steve and Scott's idea.
"Tony, think about the kids. Our kids. Please, think about it." Tony instantly understood what kids she was talking about, and his hardened face faltered.
"Our kids are gone." Tony went back into his house, clearly rattled. It was evident that Tony had a hard time dealing with Peter's death like Natasha had with you.
Which was why it came as no surprise to Natasha when Tony came back to the compound, with his time heist machine all figured out. The one she didn't expect, though, was being in this situation.
"Natasha, you can't. Y/N needs you." Clint sobbed, being held up by Natasha's grappling hook. He tightened his grip on her, who only had Clint to hold on to from falling to her death.
"She's strong, Clint. She's- so strong." She choked back a sob, readying herself for what she was going to do.
"No, no... Damn you!" Clint's eyes shot up to the ominous clouds, taunting him to let go of his best friend.
"Let me go." Natasha looked at him in the eyes, pure determination in her eyes. Her mind replayed every moment of her life, trying to remember every Avenger's smiling faces and carving them in her mind.
"It's okay." She snaked her hands away from his, kicking against the cliff to jump off. She felt her stomach drop from the fall, her beautiful smile gracing on her lips. She closed her eyes and imagined you, your big doe eyes looking up at her with a twinkle in your gaze. She couldn't remember why you looked so happy, but your smile never left her as the air from her lungs got knocked out, followed by falling into a long, sweet sleep.
Clint could only watch as she fell, hitting the ground lifelessly. Tears fell down his cheeks, sobbing uncontrollably before he fell unconscious as well.
As soon as you walked out of that portal, the first person you looked for was Natasha. When you couldn't seem to locate where she was, you just assumed that she was somewhere in the big crowd. The battlefield was big, and it was normal for you to not be able to see your teammate.
You were left clueless, even as you watched Tony's life end before your eyes. You held Peter in a tight embrace, balancing him while his shoulders trembled as he cried for the fallen hero. You walked in silence as Steve carried Tony into what remained of the compound, still too busy comforting Peter to notice Natasha wasn't there. No one wanted to tell you, for they saw how broken Peter looked then, and they didn't want to do this to you too.
But ultimately, when Peter moved from you to beside Tony, you glanced around to look for and hug Natasha. Only then, did Clint work up the courage to tell you the truth. You stood in front of him for a few second unmoving, your mind completely frozen and malfunctioning.
"She-she sacrificed herself for the stones."
"No." Your hand flew up to your mouth, shaking your head as tears pooled in your eyes. The tip of your nose burned, and you found yourself falling on your knees. Your knees sunk into the dirt, teardrops threatening to spill. You let out a strangled cry, muffled by your hands. Steve was right by your side, pulling you into a hug as you broke down in his arms.
"I know, Y/N, I know." Steve was one of Natasha's best friends, and he was one of the first people you met in the compound. He understood the pain, that hopelessness of realizing that you'd never be able to see her again.
“Natashen'ka.” You mumbled in between sobs, tears soaking Steve's tac suit. But he didn't mind, he stayed on the ground crying with you.
You cried yourself to sleep that night, and only in your dreams did you find a little peace. That only lasted so long before you were woken up by Steve, who handed you a white letter and a cup of tea.
You thanked Pepper mentally for giving you a clean change of clothes, walking out of Tony's cabin in the crisp weather. Peter sat on the porch, looking out into the small lake.
"Hi, Pete." You greeted, your usual chirpy tone gone.
"Y/N. I'm so glad you're okay." Even though the loss, he still smiled at you, pulling you into a warm embrace.
"I'm glad you're okay too, Peter." You sighed into his neck, comforted by his usual scent and the feeling of his chest against you.
Later in the day when the Avengers were all gone to mourn in their own ways, you climbed atop the roof to collect yourself and read Natasha's letter.
My it girl.
If you ever read this, I won’t be around anymore, I’m guessing.
“Ohmygod! I DID IT!!” You squealed and jumped, eyes burning into the perfect shot at the paper shooting board.
“That was amazing!” Natasha laughed, your energy radiating off and rubbing onto her.
“You're already better than Thor.” She traced the bullet hole, grinning brightly back at you. You felt laughter bubbling in your gut, your mind replaying that one time Thor had to try shooting an enemy in battle. He crushed the poor magnum with his iron grip, letting out strings of curse words saying Midguardian weapons were too tiny.
I want you to know that- god, this sounds cheesy. But, you’re my legacy, Y/N.
I’ve done many things in my life. You know that.
But I can say with certainty, that the best thing I ever did, was choosing you that day.
“I’m sorry! Ms. Nat, please.” Your eyes welled with fresh tears, tugging onto Natasha’s suit sleeves desperately.
“I told you that it was too dangerous.” She turned back around at you and sighed, glaring at the now destroyed HYDRA hideout.
“I’m sorry. I just thought-“
“Thought that you could go in there and save everyone?”
“That’s what you would’ve done!”
“But you can’t do the things I’d do! If anything happened to you, I-“ She trailed off, hands flying up to her head, slicking back her debris-filled hair in annoyance.
“I wouldn’t know what to do then.”
So don’t cry, my Y/N.
Because I’m not gone.
I’m still here.
By your side, always.
You felt like your heart was being beaten with sharp blades over and over again, but you found it in yourself to smile at the letter. By your side, always. You gulped down another wave of intense sobs, looking up at the bright sky.
You wanted nothing more than for Natasha to pull you in a hug, for her to feed you Wanda's cookies to stop you from crying. Your heart felt empty, glassy eyes searching for purpose in the cloudless blue sky.
"Y/N." You turned around to see Peter, standing a few feet away from you with a concerned look. He walked over to you and sat down, wordlessly wrapping his arm your shoulder and letting you lean into him.
"I wish they had a way to know that we're safe, alive because of them." You whispered, afraid that your voice would crack if you spoke.
"They know."
BONUS DELETED SCENES
A collection of scenes that were actually written in the stories, but got cut because some of them didn't make sense.
"Where are you two going?" Tony caught you and Peter trying to sneak into one of SHIELD's jets, and you giggled as you turned around.
"Busted..." Peter grinned at you, the two of you trying to suppress your laughs.
"We're going to... well, see dem aliens." You said suddenly serious, determined eyes locked with Tony's.
"What?"
"It's the area 51 raid, sir!" Peter almost screamed, way too excited for his own good.
"But I own area 51? People are going to raid my property?!" Tony shrieked, running away back into the compound.
--
"Y/N, who do you think is better looking, me or the spawn of Satan?" Sam rushed up to you, smiling as he pointed at himself, then Bucky.
"Spawn of Satan?" You questioned, watching Bucky with a flower crown eating plums innocently.
"It's me, right? Hey, Y/N said it's me!" Sam ran away yelling, Bucky narrowing his eyes at you. You raised your hand up, shaking your head confused.
--
"So, the gossip is, Bucky and Steve are totally into each other." Wanda pointed out as she took a bite out of her cookie.
"Fascinating." You nodded, eyes focused on Wanda dishing out all of the Avengers' gossip.
"But Tony and Steve were like a thing before, so that caused this whole Civil War."
"I don't think-" Vision furrowed his artificial brows and tried to intervene, but Sam shushed him and Wanda continued.
"Oh! Do you want me to spill the tea on Thor and Bruce?"
"Spill!"
--
"So, Y/N. What do you think about Peter?" Natasha's voice had a hint of mischievousness in it, making you redden immediately. " You can't lie to a spy, Y/N."
"I think he's a great friend." Maybe an average person may not have been able to lie to her, but you were fantastic at manipulation. Short reply usually indicated that the speaker was telling the truth, rather than a long explanation.
"Hmm... Okay, then. You won't mind if I told you he likes you. Such a shame..."
"He likes me?" Ugh! A slip-up. She knew now.
"I knew it! TONY!!" She skipped out of your room and left you internally panicking.
--
"I say we watch gone with the wind today." It was the Avengers movie night, and you were on the couch snuggled next to Peter. Tony prepared the snacks, which meant that it was as perfect as it could be. You didn't know that there was a limited flavor ice cream named after Tony until today.
"Steve, we've watched that movie 4 times this week."
"It's a great movie!"
"Why don't we watch justice league?" Clint said, making everyone turn to him with crazy looks in their eyes.
"It's way too dark." You said, shaking your head.
"But it's supposed to be-" Before Clint could protest, you shook your head.
"No, I mean it's literally too dark. I can't see a goddamn thing."
The Avengers laughed and nodded in agreement, going back to searching for a good movie.
"Steve, she said a bad language word." Tony squeaked out, and everyone burst out laughing as Steve shook his head.
"This is literally never going away, Rogers." Natasha chuckled before she took a swig out of her beer bottle.

Thank you so much for reading 'it girl', to every reader who liked/commented/asked to be on taglist, you guys motivated me to continue this far to chapter 6. I hope the ending wasn't too brutal. If it's any consolation, in this story I intended for Steve to stay in the present. Love you muffins xx  - Your Nep<3

i'm literally about to spam your inbox and i am so sorry i just have a lot to say and no one else to talk about dramas with lol i tried to cut it down as much as possible but it's still a lot please don't hate me
dude, i could never hate you!! i was really excited to see my inbox so full lol. let’s see if i can get them all into one answer haha.
omg you admire my dedication……. an angel thank you so much!! when i get into a show that i like i make sure to watch at least one episode a day, i don’t know why it’s just how my brain works and i thought it was dumb but apparently i’m just dedicated :D if you really want to, why not watch it a second time around!! you might catch some stuff you didn't the first time!! it might be smart to wait to rewatch until we're closer to season two so everything is fresh in your mind!! (1/9)
that’s actually a really solid way to go about things, and i’m glad it works out like that for you. i already told you i’m a hare brain when it comes to this stuff - i’ll rewatch shows i haven’t even finished lol, and i rewatch shows i’ve finished in sporadic bits because they’re comforting (i did that a lot during quarantine). i want to rewatch, but i want to time it right, you know? like during a time i can afford to get immersed in it, maybe after i’ve finished some shows that i should finish (i need to make a list for the summer...). also, i heard the release date for season 2 got pushed back to 2022 instead of 2021 because of covid...i don’t know if that’s confirmed though.
!!spoilers for the arthdal chronicles incoming!! my feelings for the characters in arthdal have literally changed so much. in one moment i’ll admire a character and then absolutely hate them the next and it’s a lot of fun LOL despite that my feelings have never changed for eunseom! i’ve always admired him and i have a lot of faith in him and he’s just such a good person! (2/9)
i know, it’s like a normal kdrama but it really feels like you’ve watched 3 kdramas in one, because of length and how much happens. eunseom is everyone’s no 1 boy, honestly. he never did anything wrong *insert that meme, or whatever*.
that being said, i’m still a little scared of him being inaishingi and basically ruling the entirety of the ago tribe because as we’ve learned from the show, being in a position of power corrupts you, no matter what your intentions are so i’m a lil nervous but then i also remember that eunseom is eunseom so i’m worried for nothing lol (3/9)
(side note but i’ll be talking about this from memory and it’s been like 10 months SO) but even though he’s like a god, he’s not actually a god, not yet. and eunseom at his core is good - that being said, i know what you mean; honestly haven’t thought about that. i’m more scared that he won’t know how to lead, or that he’s not exactly equipped to lead a rebellion - more like i’m worried he might act in his own self interest instead of for all of ago, if you know what i mean? because he’s leading this whole group he’s not actually a part of.
i also like dalsae, xabara, tanya, chaeuun and the neanthals!!! i have so much to say about the neanthals omg i really wish we saw more of them but i also understand why we don’t. they’ve almost been completely wiped out of existence so they don’t really get involved with anything which i completely understand, i just wish!!!! that when rottip met eunseom that he would’ve said or done something. i waited all season for that moment, waiting for it to maybe happen and rottip just walked away (4/9
i understand why but :/ ipsaeng is kind of a bastard but i still like him a lil bit. i also really like mubaek and yangcha even though they’re like. bad guys and members of the daekan forces (5/9)
one moment, i have to go remind myself who dalsae is...and oh, right, i do like him a lot! ipsaeng is pretty funny himself. and yes!!! the females in this show were awesome, especially xabara and chaeun and nunbyeol (tanya and taelha get their own category). yes!! when rottip and eunseom met, i really thought he would matter more to them, but i kind of understand why it went down like that...i think the other (hot) neanthal reminded rottip that they couldn’t really connect? ah, it was something like that. i had complicated feelings about it as well, but i hope that they’ll meet again in season 2 (and i hope nunbyeol wrecks arth with her sword, i remember when we first saw her fight with a sword in neanthal form; i was s c r e a m i n g).
mubaek is good, but also annoying. he knows this, but he’s complicit in all the evil actions going on. like, man, if you know that much,  you should use it to do something. knowledge is power! but he preferred to be sidelined and not do anything. yangcha is so hot...seriously, but i think he’s so interesting. the fandom needs to know why he has a mask on, there’s so many theories. i love how tanya could read his thoughts, but we still didn’t get many of them, but i think it shows how he’ll be more of a main character (hopefully) in season 2.
i know you asked for characters i like but i can’t help but mention the one character that i absolutely DESPISE. like saying i despise him doesn’t even truly explain my feelings for him (6/9)
I CANNOT STAND MUNGTAE he’s literal scum i hate him so much…. the fact that he betrayed eunseom and dalsae when they were literally coming to rescue him!! OH MY GOD and then everything that happened with teodae and eunseom having to see it and being traumatized by it………. i hate mungtae and i wish i wish he would face the actions of his consequences but there is no justice in arthdal so he will most likely get away scot free (7/9)
MUNGTAE CAN PERISH. he needed to have died in episode 1 seriously. it’s fine if you’re a coward, but not a snitch...everyone’s afraid, but at least they have a concept of loyalty. omg...teodae, the fact that eunseom got so traumatized by that made me want to sob. imagine you have a friend who you want to help save, but such friend loves their mind because of the situation they’re in and begins to believe the lies about you, tries to kill you, and then kills themselves in front of you...every episode of this show should have been titled: eunseom is wrecked and traumatized. again. part xx.
honestly, my hope is that tanya or eunseom straight up murders him. or dalsae. he can’t survive season 2, not on my watch.
a lot of people were complaining about the ending being vague or just not good in general, but i thought it was the perfect ending! the ending was relatively lackluster in the sense that nothing too crazy took place and what’s gonna happen next season was laid out relatively clear? i mean tagon wants to conquer the east and made a point to mention the ago tribe so i think we’re going see like eunseom’s return (?) as in he’s gonna actively become a problem for those in power in arth again (8/9)
i didn’t actually know people were saying that, because i thought the ending was so good. in my opinion, the whole finale of it serves to do two things which are a) tie up loose ends for season one and b) establish the continuation needed for season 2. arth was always going to continue, but it also builds suspense for season 2: there’s going to be a war, but tanya and eunseom are on different sides. saya knows he has a twin. AND there’s that awful women spy...she can perish as well. us clowns watching the show for the first time really thought we were going to get an eunseom and tanya reunion...we were played.
i’ve mainly watched like movies or variety shows for idols that i like but for some reason i never really got into kdramas until like right now. i’ve only seen 4 in total LOL but i’ve liked all of the shows that i’ve watched so i can’t complain. i’ve seen hello monster, arthdal, prison playbook and chocolate! (9/9)
oh, seriously? that’s amazing! i’ve watched 3/4, and right now i’m actually skimming through chocolate - i’m not really a fan of all the melo nonsense they have going on, so i’m mostly watching it for the sibling scenes and jun’s scenes haha...
and i’ve got this all in one ask, yes.

howdy could i get a DBD (Survivor) and Fallout 4 matchup? I'm a 20 something, 5'2 pansexual Taurus female who has dark blonde hair and hazel-gold eyes. I'm normally quiet and reserved, but once you get to know me, I can go on about things I love for hours and be a joke a minute kind of person. I'm also very loyal unless you break that trust. Some of my past times include making cosplays, caring for animals, comics, writing, voice acting, and cuddles™️ thank you in advance 🥺 xx
Howdy, honey bee! 🤠💖
From Dead by Daylight, I match you with...
Dwight Fairfield!
• How is someone so beautiful and precious stuck in this endless loop of torment? PROTECTION MODE ACTIVATED.
• He's shy when he first met you, but Dwight thinks that it's adorable that you are as well. When you open up more, he thinks that you're freaking hilarious. There isn't a moment where you don't make him laugh, and that's something considering his current situation.
• Dwight admires your cosplays and thinks that they're the coolest things in the world. He is very supportive of your hobbies and will ask endless questions about it.
• Big surprise here, but Dwight loves comics. It was an escape from his day to day life from work and school. When he finds out that you like them, prepare to be bombarded with nerdy excitement.
• Dwight vows to never break your trust, because honestly? You're the best person in this entire world and he won't even hesitate to take a hit for you or worse.
From Fallout 4, I match you with...
Curie!
• She is a curious little bean, and you only incite more out of her. Like, what is the cosplay? How is it you can change your voice so easily? Maybe you can help with a few demonstrations...
• She's quite awkward when cuddling you for the first time since she doesn't know where to place her hands but eventually, she starts to do what feels more natural. She starts asking for a lot more cuddles and claims that it is for science, of course.
• Curie in her spare time, also cares for animals. It's good for her to broaden her medical knowledge, not only on humans, but all creatures in the Commonwealth. She finds it interesting that radiation can inflict such mutations, and if you would like to help her in her studies and care, then just say so.
• Curie can joke sometimes too. It may not be as funny as the ones you tell, but hopefully, it makes you smile at least. (hahaha, pls laugh.)
• Every day spent with you is a day she wouldn't trade for anything. You are so beautiful, both inside and out, and your heart is something so pure that Curie fears that it may be tainted by the harshness of the Commonwealth. Curie shouldn't have to fear though, because she trusts you completely and hopes that you trust her too.
