what it's like living in a tropical country in september
thing is, everyone is so excited for the september mood and autumn and getting closer to halloween and leafs and the vibes, but i live in a tropical country in the southern hemisphere. it's 33 fucking celsius degrees (no idea how much that is in farenheit) and it's dry but somehow also umid and i really need it to rain but it doesn't and when it does it goes away too quickly and it's so fucking hot and the ipês aren't blooming anymore and meanwhile everyone on my fyp is like "oh wow autumn vibes!" and i'm here dying of heat, with no air conditioner in my room
Update: it actually rained!! And I saw some ipês too so I guess there are a few left. It's still hot as fuck I'm dying but ipês make everything better

has something from a tlt fic ever become headcanon to you? i ask because i find this happening to me all the damn time with this fandom but not others
OK SO, my tlt headcanons are like schrodinger's cat, they explicitly contradict each other sometimes and all of them exist at the same time in different quantum states of canon. So in that sense I've never read a fic and thought, okay, THIS is my canon from now on.
But I've read so so many fics that burst my third eye wide open and made me consider different perspectives on a character / dynamic, or helped me shape some I already had. A few favourites:
the soul that seeketh him by bittybelle — missing scene pre NtN ft. John and Kiriona. Wherein John Gaius meets his daughter, remembers the women he left behind, and deals poorly with being the male god of a universe in which the divine is essentially feminine.
AO3 user LesbianJesusLovesYou gave me Big Feelings about Gideon's childhood on the Ninth and her relationship with Harrow, Aiglamene, Ortus and Crux
believing in everything (and knowing nothing at all) — A series of childhood memories from the Ninth
when i call, will you come to me? — “My Lady,” Ortus wheezed, shifting uncomfortably. “I only thought you should know… Gideon Nav was flogged before the congregation.”
A few fics set right after NtN that really stayed with me:
never hear the sound of someone calling me home by @corpsesoldier — Kiriona Gaia returns to the House of the Ninth.
One More Son by captainpeggy — After Nona, Pyrrha Dve walks the Ninth.
two old broads split a cigarette by @forjodssake — Aiglamene/Pyrrha. “sometimes the girl you like becomes one person w her soulmate and you have to jack off about it”
Post HtN missing scenes:
Death in its season by @ancientannoyance — John holds Mercymorn's 24 minutes funeral
recognize them by their fruits by @ceruleanvulpine — John and Ianthe emerge out of the River
Other stuff that Stuck With Me
so I open the window to hear sounds of people by @sunderedstar — post NtN flashbacks. John and Alecto are the only two beings on earth, and he starts working on the Resurrection. This is harrowing and I'm absolutely obsessed with the implications in this fic of WHY John removed everyone's memory.
and they were roommates by @herenortherenearnorfar — pre Resurrection Mercy and Cristabel, from their first meeting onwards and it just really burrowed a hole in my brain and grew roots and sprouts and everything. Latin American nun Cristabel it's all I can see now, and YES they met working with climate refugees when M— was a bright eyed idealistic doctor. It also lines up great with the Asian Mercy headcanon that exist in my head (I have a whole elaborate backstory about M— aged 12 proclaiming to her Filipino Catholic family that she's an atheist now). Anyway, it's just a lovely, gorgeous fic. I think about it every day.
John 25:12 by @halfeatenmoon — pre-Resurrection, John and his friends escape the cow fortress to spend Christmas Day at the beach. With beer, salads, pavlova, and the corpses of a million fish killed by nuclear weapons testing. Ft. Southern hemisphere holidays in Mururoa Atol and 100% canon. To me.
Operation: The Most Honorable Man by @cadmean — Augustine has a proposal for the Saint of Duty (Dios Apate. That's the proposal)
lowkey cheating but I can't choose — absolutely anything AO3 user Raxheim has posted has been SOO up my alley. Every time I read one of their fics I feel like I'm enlightened by some never-before-considered detail. And mean ANYTHING, from Harrow Nova to Wake to Cytherea and the Lyctors to the Universe's #1 Sadgirl Gideon

A Modern Festival For Psyche - Festival of Butterflies
Tumblr media
This is very inspired by the festival for Psyche that @starry-polytheism created for April. Though it's almost opposite, different sides of the same coin, if you will. Since their festival is more based around the transition from fall to winter as they're in the southern hemisphere. As I'm in the northern hemisphere I wanted to make this more focused on the transition from winter to spring.
Psyche is not necessarily a goddess of spring but a lot of her symbolism is very spring-related. Especially her biggest and most known symbol, butterflies. So having a festival and time to celebrate in spring felt fitting. To me, she is a goddess of transformation and hope and that's what I want the focus of this festival to be. Transformation of yourself and the transformation and hope for the upcoming spring. I will also be bringing Eros into this festival as they are married and closely intertwined for me and my worship. I like to honor him as much as I can.
Ideally, this would take place on the spring equinox but because I've been struggling a bit and just now writing this I will not personally be celebrating on that day. Most likely this upcoming weekend since that's when I have the time.
Tumblr media
This will be a two-day festival. Day one is focused on the transformation aspect. Preparing to bring in the new and to celebrate. The focus is on cleaning your space and doing self-care acts in the name and honor of Lady Psyche. Everyone has different levels of spoons so this can be as much or as little as you want. I'm confident she will enjoy and appreciate any of it!
Ideas for day one of the festival
Clean your space spiritually by lighting incense.
Clean your home (as much or as little as you can or want. Even just cleaning your room or altar space or even one section of any room is perfect.)
Listen to a playlist you've made for Psyche while cleaning
Bake to enjoy for day two of the festival.
Journal things you're grateful for in your current season and/or things you're looking forward to in spring.
Journal about how you've grown and changed through the last few months and how Psyche or Eros have helped you with that.
Gather things to donate to those in need.
Perform self-care acts for and in Lady's Psyche name (taking an intentional shower/bath, brushing your teeth with intention, etc.)
Day two focuses on the hope and joy the new season can bring. It's all about celebrating and doing things that bring you joy to honor Psyche. As Eros is the god of passion and love I feel like he can be especially involved in this day.
Ideas for day two of the festival
If the weather permits enjoy nature coming back to life around you. Go for a walk in nature or simply sit outside on your porch/yard.
Bring Psyche in while you spend time on a favorite hobby (coloring, art, reading, knitting, etc.)
Have a dancing and singing session.
Offer a yummy baked good or candy you think Psyche and Eros would enjoy.
Prepare and enjoy a good meal for the two.
Rest in any way you need or see fit.
Literally, anything that makes you happy and brings you joy.
Tumblr media
I have never attempted to make a festival so I'm not sure if any of this makes much sense but I'll take any chance to celebrate my beautiful deities any extra amount. If you think something would be better or you have anything to add to what I've written, please feel free to share!
Feel free to do as much or as little of what's in this post, or adapt it any way that would better fit your practice. If you don't have two days for a festival split the day in two or split whatever time you have to celebrate to focus on the two aspects of the festival. As I mentioned before, Psyche and Eros will enjoy any thought put into this, no matter how small it feels.

I'm wondering about the timing in one of your recent readings, the one you did about either a divorce or pregnancy news, in which your cards said something would be revealed "by the end of summer." I know that you're in the Southern Hemisphere, so your seasons are opposite ours up here. Your end of summer, as you wrote in the reading, is March. In the Northern Hemisphere, March is the end of our winter, with September being the end of our summer.
What I'm wondering is (and I do realize this could be quite a hypothetical), how do you know whether the cards are referring to your time zone versus your subject's time zone? Or is that where the subjectivity of one's interpretation comes into play? I just worry that naysayers will nitpick your opposite seasons to discredit your craft and I'm curious how one might account for that.
(For what it's worth, you're probably spot on with March 2024 - Lady C has also said she expects some kind of news or a reckoning by the end of March 2024. I take everything with salt but that March 2024 keeps popping up from many different separate sources leads me to believe something is absolutely going down in March.)
Hi Nonny,
I usually take the seasons as being for my hemisphere, as I am the one pulling the cards, unless I am doing the reading from another person's POV, then it will most likely be their seasons.
As for the nay-sayers, don't worry about them. I don't. I know I get things wrong, and it is all part of the learning process.
People are going to agree with the cards or not, and there is nothing you can do about it. As long as everyone stays in their own blogs and people don't go to other blogs to try and stir up trouble, I really don't care what they say. Everyone is entitled to express their own opinion about things on their own blog. :)

More thoughts and a little theory about Dawson's Creek
This intrigues me so much. I keep thinking about it and I'm happy I'm not the only one.
Tumblr media
This could be about a lot of things: Will and Mike, our world and the UD, and different timelines.
But why Dawson and Pacey? SPOILERS ON DAWSON'S CREEK
I have a theory. Many people thought that Dawson's Creek was about the love story of Dawson and his childhood friend, Joey. That they were endgame. But that's not what happens. Joey ends up with Pacey (the right choice, imo). So maybe the magnet means that the audience thinks that Mike and El will be together forever, but in the last season they'll reveal that Mike's love is Will.
So, Dawson doesn't end up with his childhood friend, but Mike does. I love it.
But these circles are definitely not just about Byler.
In Suzie's room there is a poster of the Constellations of the two Hemispheres, that looks a lot like the drawing. It's also important, imo, that they're talking about finding Nina, and that in S3 Suzie gave Dustin the constant to retrieve the two keys that could turn off the russian machine and close the gate.
Tumblr media
The Constellation in the southern Hemisphere can be seen from Australia, which is called 'the land down under'.
Down under. Upside Down. @shippingfangirl013 noticed that this mention of Australia in S1 is probably a reference to the UD.
Tumblr media
In fact, a few episodes later El uses the radio to channel Will in the UD
Tumblr media
We can also see the word Explorer on Dustin's shirt in those scenes. Another connection with Vecna and the UD. In 4x07 and 4x09 One/Vecna says that he became an explorer. And Karen says that Holly is quite the explorer, after she sees the Demogorgon in the wall.
Tumblr media
So, the two circles probably represent our world and the Upside Down. But since we still don't know what the Upside Down and Dimension X are, exactly, they could also refer to different timelines.
Other things that remind me of the two circles.
Two fans behind Dustin, when he throws a knotted bed sheet through the gate, "connecting" the two worlds.
Tumblr media
And THIS scene, noticed by @chirpsythismorning
(her screenshots)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe that Twelve is Will (or represents Will's role in the story), and that Will and El are twins, so I find it extremely interesting that Brenner says 'If you leave your circle' (you lose) when Twelve is in the frame
Tumblr media
And that the game starts with Two and Six. 2x6=12
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe Brenner's line is a hint about what happened when Will vanished from our world left his circle and ended up in the UD?
Much to think about.

Ok so not gonna lie ive been thinking about that non-WOTY harvest folklore post for a solid day and I have a few questions. Assuming one were to write the book Would you want to just look at the U.S. and do it regionally? Would you want to take into account the culture of the settlers? Would you want a look through religious lenses? Would you want a bunch of worldwide cultures?
You got my Cultural Anthropology brain excited and now it wont let go
Mostly I was hoping to find agricultural folklore books as a resource for a slightly different book I'm hoping to write, tentatively titled The Secular Witch's Year. It would go through the calendar month by month, detailing seasonal changes, suggesting activities, and noting holidays and traditions observed in various places, with some allowance for regional variations in climate and such. Ideally, I'd like to be able to include information for witches who live in the Southern Hemisphere too, since they're often overlooked.
The most important part is that the schedule and ideas presented would be secular and NOT rely on the WOTY for their substance. There are more groups than just Wiccans who observe the harvest cycle and mark the solstices / equinoxes and the like, but Wicca was the foundation of so much modern witchcraft literature that it's difficult to get away from that mold. I know I wouldn't be able to do it perfectly. But a step is a step and I still mean to try. I've already got a draft going.
I do think a book detailing various harvest cycle traditions from around the world would be fantastic, but I would respectfully leave that to more scholarly authors than myself. Probably the ones with research assistants. 😅

May 5 - The Dead Travel Fast
Re Dracula/Dracula Daily
Wow. This one was a longer one. I didn't mind it. It was, again, a very good story. But after chapters just 4-7 minutes, 38 minutes was a touch blindsiding. 😂 Apparently it's because Jonathon wrote an entry long enough to be split into 2 chapters. At first I mistook it for 2 separate entries on the same day. But no, that wasn't the case. Woops. I'll be reacting/writing accordingly, thus the chapters.
I wound up reading the Dracula Daily email while listening to the podcast to better follow it. Until now i had been skimming it, but this was a real read along. I'm glad for the decision because I noticed some interesting differences.
I'll get to that in a bit, moving onto the story.
Chapter 1
Poor Jonathon is not off to a good start. The poor thing can't sleep at all and the scenery is looking jagged and indistinct. Again, very ominous. The days experience was so strange and awful he felt the need to note what his dinner had been so readers wouldn't think him a drunk. It sounded delicious, I was actually kind of jealous. He ate robber steak which is bits of bacon, onion and beef seasoned with red pepper and served as a kebab, paired with a wine called 'Golden Mediasch'. The story calls the kebab style 'cat's meat', which made for an interesting research dip. I'll leave some links down the bottom.
Tumblr media
When the coach came it drew quite a crowd. They gawked and stared, making crosses and warding off the evil eye, yelling in various languages words like 'hell', 'witch' and something that was either 'were-wolf' or 'vampire'. My bet's on vampire but who knows, maybe it's both. Wouldn't recommend asking the Count after them though. I love Jon's polyglot dictionary. Seems very useful.
Jonathon's poet tongue made a comeback on the journey. His descriptions of the area are breathtaking (though I suppose I should be extending that praise to Stoker). It starts off with brighter scenery, orchards of apple, plum, pear and cherry (it didn't say they were orchards but I think they were), rolling green hills, grasses, woods and forests. Before gradually turning to darker tones, becoming, rugged, jagged, snowy, shadowy , grey and steep, with large groups of praying peasants. You can feel Jonathon's spirits rise and fall. I enjoyed it rather a bit, got completely absorbed in it.
The scenery and explanations given for the conditions on the roads really show the movement from Winter into Spring. I mean, I know I should've gotten that from the date alone, but I'm from the Southern Hemisphere, be nice. Jonathon continues to make for good source of information. I had no idea the roads in the Carpathians were kept poorly to avoid dangerous misunderstandings and conflict with the Turks. How interesting.
Props to the coachman. He tried to break the tensions with a joke that fell a bit flat. A poor attempt is still an attempt. Though his neck-breaking rush seems to be spooking Jonathon too much for anything from him to work, The other passengers getting worked up isn't helping either. The podcast did this well. Their urging voices really amped up the tension. It did take me by surprise that the rush was an attempt to keep Jonathon from heading to the Count. Again. Props to the man. But unfortunately he was busted.
See, here was where I noticed the difference between Dracula Daily (email) and Re Dracula (podcast). The dialogue for when the driver of the Count's calèche confronted the coachmen are different.
Re Dracula
That is why, I suppose, you wished him to go on to Bukovina.
Dracula Daily
"That is why, I suppose, you wished him to go on to Bukovina. You cannot deceive me, my friend; I know too much, and my horses are swift."
The podcast skipped a bit. I can't tell if it was an accident or not. It didn't harm the story, I doubt I'd have noticed at all if I wasn't reading along, but it was different.
Speaking of the calèche, it's mentioned quite a bit so here's what that looks like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're sure upping the creep factor of the driver, going on about his gleaming smile, very bright reddish eyes, sharp teeth and the like. Jonathon is definitely regretting his life choices and I agree. Should've listened to your instincts.
The travel just gets creepier and creepier. First they go round and round in a loop along their road while just going forwards. Barrier magic, anyone? Wards perhaps? Then blue fires that seem like wisps and howling spooked dogs that eventually gets taken over by wolves (definitely werewolves). Good luck escaping, Jonathon. I think your paths are closed. But hey, fright of your aside, at least you've made it to the castle, worn and ruined as it looks.
Chapter 2
Poor Jonathon's hindbrain seems to be kicking into action, noticing an odd strength in his driver, an iffy and nightmarish feeling about the place, flames that don't follow known logic and the Count, odd in both appearance and behaviour. But I finally know why he's there in the first place! He's a solicitor! There for business on the purchasing of an estate in London. Not a good sign in regards to Dracula's motives, but still!
Aww, so sweet. Mina seems to be a supportive woman if she's been lecturing him on his view of himself.
It's funny how his concerns were forgotten entirely once food was on the mind. I feel you. It's a bit worrisome, but I feel you. They came back pretty quick when the Count touched him. No Jon. You're not sick and the Count's breath isn't that bad. You're nauseous because your instincts are telling to pack your bags and be on your way. Best listen to them, if you can.
He's not in for a good day tomorrow. Not if he's spent the night letting his mind spin in fear for his life and soul. Good luck.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an interesting chapter, a very good one. They're certainly headed deep into building the setting. I'm looking forward to seeing how Jonathon Harker's (and how did I only just pick up his surname just now?) first day of work goes.

I did a strange and new thing today
If you click any of the links in this post you'll be able to download the Autumn - Go Within booklet, and I really hope you enjoy flipping through and using it as much as I enjoyed making it and will enjoy using it.
Many weeks ago I put together a seasonal planner. I hated it. It was nothing like the vision I had in my head. It was generic and uninspired and if I'm honest, I was ashamed of it because I knew it was not the planner that was calling for me to design it. It was the planner I thought people would want to buy, not the planner I wanted to make.
After talking about it to anyone who would listen, billing it as the next great billionaire-maker and my life's greatest work rolled into one, I abandoned it. By it I mean that draft, not the desire to design a text-based companion for intentional seasonal living, which is what brought me here.
So there I was, badly wanting to create the thing I held in my head as the perfect life-planning document for women like me (don't ask, there are not enough words in the world), yet feeling limited in my ability to do so by having to ask questions like Will other people like it? Will they pay for it? - and having to make sure that the answer is a resounding yes.
I couldn't do it.
I couldn't bring myself to care more about what other people would think than about making the documents I want to make. I want to care more about money because capitalism is a bitch and I actually haven't got it like that yet. I want to design a planner that will put every other planner out there to shame, that will sell out online and at Typo and EB, but as much as I want that (I mean, I'm not gonna lie) I want to design and develop the documents I want more. I want to partner with other women and bring shared creative visions to life. I want us all to live the lives we really want to live, not the lives capitalism forces upon us.
So I started over, following my intuition and expecting nothing, and the thing I ended up creating is this.
A booklet that supports intentional living for this season - Autumn.
Why did make this?
I find myself forced to reinvent myself (life is happening) but I refuse to become someone and something I'm not. I need support and structure to navigate this phase of my life so I put together the document I needed most. You can take a look by clicking this link.
Tumblr media
AI-generated image; southern hemisphere autumn (southern Africa)
I did a new and strange thing today. I put something I made out into the world.
I've been a blogger for years on various platforms, and I have been known (in my circles) as a prolific social media poster.
This is different.
This is different because I made something I like just for myself. Not for attention, not to impress anyone, not to make money or get a job, or to make someone else think that I'm worth of money and a job, but because I want to have it and enjoy it. I hope others like it and I hope that the next version is made better through feedback and engagement, but even if I never get feedback I'm still going to make more.
If Autumn is about going within then baby, I am going within and digging up and bringing me into the world (if you don't get it forget about it. Wink).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Making this left me exhausted and exhilarated. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself because I can't believe that I made it and that I actually shared it and it has my name on it!!!
I feel breathless all of a sudden *fans self.
May beautiful things happen to you and for you.
If you click any of the links in this post you'll be able to download the Autumn - Go Within booklet, and I really hope you enjoy flipping through and using it as much as I enjoyed making it and will enjoy using it.

all right so i'm going to explain my personal headcanons for the birthdays of the main emperor's new groove characters and malina! i'm taking into account that the movie takes place in peru, which is in the southern hemisphere so the seasons are opposite to those in the US and europe. also, there's a book called disneystrology that assigns a different character to every single day of the year, so that can sort of be considered an official source for birthdays--but i kind of prefer to just take a look at the list, see if i like the date they picked for a given character, and if i don't then i just come up with my own headcanon for when their birthday is. so:
malina - she's always seemed like an autumn girl to me and i don't really know why, it's just the vibe i get. i headcanon that her birthday is on april 12th, which makes her an aries.
pacha - i always liked to think that he should have an earth sign--after all, his name essentially means "earth" in the inca language! so i headcanon his birthday to be may 10th, making him a taurus.
chicha - she's the only one who i actually keep the date from the disneystrology book for! it assigns her july 29th, and i like that because it makes her a leo which is a fire sign. coincidentally it is also when modern day peru celebrates its independence day, which feels fitting for chicha.
kronk - the disney wiki says his birthday is november 27th, but they don't have a source for this and i don't think it came up in new school but maybe i'm wrong?? i know it's not in kronk's new groove because i double-checked a transcript. so if anyone knows please tell me. however, i like this date so i keep it as my headcanon! it's at the very end of spring and kronk just feels to me like he should have a spring birthday. this makes him a sagittarius.
kuzco - i always see people headcanon him as a gemini or a leo, and he does have those vibes, but... those zodiac seasons are in winter in the southern hemisphere, so sadly it doesn't work. i also think his birthdays needs to be specifically in early summer to fit the timeline of him building a summer home + chicha having had her baby and it still being summer by the end of the movie. so my headcanon for his birthday is december 5th, making him, like kronk, a sagittarius.
yzma - and as for her... i imagine that her birthday is december 6th. the day after kuzco's. which means it's always overshadowed by the multiple days of excessive preperations and celebrations for the emperor's birthday and everyone always forgets about it except for her mother! well, and kronk, who somehow manages to always suddenly remember and scramble to prepare a gift at the last minute. this also means kuzco fired her just days before her birthday. ouch. at least it wasn't the day of her birthday.

i just found out a new season is coming out a month from now? they must have a concrete plot and art work already lined up if they’re ready to release in the next 4 weeks so would the recent survey impact (hopefully) season 8 that would be coming out next summer?
how do you think fans would react to fusebox following the now former love island show schedule and do summer & winter seasons so that the fandom have more time to get over the characters they’ve just recently finished with but the time period isn’t 10-11 months for a brand new season? while also being able to receive and implement changes and tweak things based off of the fan’s opinions and put it into a winter season that would come out say december - february and finish it by march-april. giving the fans content while they wait for the summer season instead of having a dry spell and limited replay options.
or do you think the old format of releasing bonus content of the former season like the boat party, the wedding etc is something that should make a comeback instead?
[Why does this ask read like it's from fusebox directly 👀]
I'm honestly surprised they asked for our feedback at all if they already had a new season lined up. They must be reusing a lot of assets; either that or it's a VERY short season, like 12 episodes or something which will be ass. Honestly I think two seasons a year would be perfect. But there needs to be a larger gap than this in between. People want to go back and play new routes but that's hard to do when there's only a week or two break in between seasons. Even if you played diligently in that one week, waiting 2 hours for tickets over and over is a pain in the as.
Winter season: Do you know how much I would FROTTTHHH on a winter LI season? Cute winter outfits, dates in the jacuzzi, snowball fights, or huddling for warmth (hehehe) come on, I would LOVE THAT (Imagine your fave islander in a lovely snuggly hoodie and only getting to see them with their kit off in the shower or hideaway?? SURPRISE love that. Even though said winter season would be coming out while us southern hemisphere folk are out here sweltering through bushfires and heatwaves I'd still love it.
Bonus content: Look, personally, I loved the S3 boat party. I thought it was unique, that it was cool we could date the islanders in different contexts, but that we had a chance to make up with our LI if we wanted. S1 I was so fucking done with Erikah that having to participate in her bullshit pissed me off. Besides, how come she's getting a proposal and i'm not??? You mean to tell me Jake didn't propose immediately after leaving the villa??????
S2 I LOVE LOVE LOVED the wedding but absolutely not CMM. Especially "you cheated on noah with noah!" And Lucas having a moustache and being scared of horses. I'm sorry, no, CMM is not canon. Urgh. If the bonus content was GOOD then it would absolutely be worth it. But I don't know if everyone would be down to have a 'islanders getting married' reunion. Not everyone wants that.

4) what’s march look like in your corner of the world? - @adderstruck (followed from my main btw!! thanks for the follow 🙂)
Hello! of course ♡
You know, I've actually been thinking about this for a bit now. The difference in ambience I found after I came back home in the beginning of autumn, compared to when I left in the beginning of summer.
Since I'm on the southern hemisphere, autumn has just started. The first thing I noticed when I came back home is the absence of my much beloved green parrots! they're an incredibly abundant species here and love to make so much noise in the spring and summer, and they're really fun to watch too. I actually miss them. Most of the wild animals that would be common sight around spring and summer either migrate or simply become a little harder to see around this time of year. The plant life doesn't really change much, at least the natives, as I'm on a pretty desertic region that has mostly perennial native species. The very few exotic species people tend to use for decoration tend to also be perennials (pine or juniper, for example) so you're not going to see that much of a change in greenery. The weather slowly gets chillier and the winds stronger. Which also means thunderstorms happen more often, and last for longer, sometimes the rainy weather lasts for an entire week or more. I like to think of it as our own semi-tropical rainy season!
March is also when the season for some of my favorite fruits and veggies begins here (apples, watermelons, pears, lemons, oranges, tangerines... so much deliciousness!) and that means I get to make warm fruit tea more often and eat whole watermelons by myself 😂
Something as simple as eating watermelon or making fruit teas helps me stay connected to my Beloved Dead, and warms my heart, because It's what we always did together as the season began. Anytime I sit down to have some watermelon slices or make some tea, I like to prepare them something to drink and eat aswell and place the plate of fruit and teacups in my Ancestral altar. It's really as simple as that, doing with their spirits just as we'd be doing if they were still in the flesh.
Thanks for asking!

Refining my ideas for the bearfolk world some more...
I'm still basically going with my ideas here and here, but making some modifications:
I think I'll scale back the ecosystem-shaping aspect of the big grazers and make them more ecologically normal animals. They'd probably still be ecosystem-shapers to some extent, but fundamentally they're just another regular grassland animal. Hunting them was an important selection pressure in the bearfolk's evolution because for most of the last few million years the bearfolk world cycled between ice ages and high obliquity eras and during the ice ages much of the land area was open "grassland"/steppe, i.e. big grazer country.
Accordingly, I've gotten rid of the southern hemisphere grazer steppe continent. The bearfolk world now has only two continents, not three. I still like the idea of having a big "window into what the planet looked like in prehistoric times" region, but it's not going to be a separate continent, instead I'm going to make it a continent-size high plateau that's part of the main continent. I like the high plateau idea better for a couple of reasons. First, a continent-size high plateau is just a nicely weird alien landform, not quite like anything on Earth, so it gives the planet a nice alien touch. Second, I have some ideas for bearfolk history that would work nicely with the continent-size plateau set-up.
I've also changed how the seasons work to make the planet a bit more alien.
So, here's a description of the bearfolk planet as I now imagine it, focusing on the planet's present state and natural environment:
At present, the bearfolk world is in an era of low axis obliquity, moderately high orbital eccentricity, and higher than average atmospheric carbon dioxide. Axis obliquity is less than 10 degrees, maybe 6 to 8 degrees. Seasons are basically controlled by the changing distance from the sun between perigee and apogee and planet-wide, but the axis obliquity is high enough to also generate significant seasonal variations, which results in very different seasonal patterns in the northern and southern hemispheres.
The north pole points at the sun while the planet is at perigee and points away from the sun when the planet is at apogee. Thus, in the northern hemisphere, seasonal variation due to axis obliquity and seasonal variation due to changing distance from the sun are more-or-less synchronous and have an additive effect. Neither source of seasonal variation is very strong. Thus, the northern hemisphere has a warm climate with moderate seasons gentler than Earth's.
The south pole points away from the sun while the planet is at perigee and points toward the sun while the planet is at apogee. Thus, in the southern hemisphere seasonal variation due to axis obliquity and seasonal variation due to changing distance from the sun mostly cancel each other out. Thus, the southern hemisphere has an almost seasonless climate, with only a small warming at perigee and a small cooling at apogee (at least in the tropical, subtropical, and temperate latitudes; near the south pole axis obliquity effects may be strong enough to dominate orbital effects).
This results in the northern and southern hemispheres having rather different climates. Significantly, glaciers form and grow more easily in the southern hemisphere, despite its milder winters; cooler summers mean more areas that are near or below freezing year-round, and thus more opportunities for snow and ice to build up. Glaciers are more reflective than open water, rock, or green land, so once a glacier forms it tends to cool itself and its immediate surroundings by reflecting sunlight. This makes the southern hemisphere noticeably cooler than the northern hemisphere, especially near the poles and in mountainous regions. It's not a full-blown hemisphere-asymmetric ice age - the planet is too warm for that at present - and the northern hemisphere actually has more ice because there's a lot more land in the northern polar region, but the southern hemisphere has a noticeably less friendly climate. Topographical differences between the northern and southern part of the bearfolk world's main continent greatly enhance this effect.
The bearfolk world has two continents. The smaller continent is about 15 million square kilometers. The bigger continent is much bigger and is most of the planet's land area; it stretches from the north polar region to a point near the Antarctic Circle.
The northernmost area of the big continent is almost isolated, connected to the rest of the great continent only by a relatively narrow isthmus. Its interior is covered by a vast continental glacier, bigger than Antarctica's. However, being bigger than Antarctica also means much of its coast has at least an ice-free green fringe like that of southern Greenland, and there are several peninsulas that stretch south into warmer latitudes. The biggest of these peninsulas stretches into the northern temperate latitudes, into the latitudes suitable for agriculture. Though this region is technically connected to the big continent, in historical millennia it has tended to function like a separate continent, exchanging goods, ideas, and people with the rest of the planet more by sea than by the difficult northern overland route. This region actually had more biomass in high obliquity eras, when steambath heat in summer nourished strange deciduous forests in regions that are now buried under kilometers of ice; these vanished polar forests were a major crucible of bearfolk evolution (pity the present kilometers-thick glaciers make the fossil record of this region hard to study).
The rest of the northern part of the big continent is a fertile land, mostly forest, open woodland, and "grassland" regions, though there is some desert (the "grassland" is, of course, technically not covered by grass but by a structurally similar native plant). Most of the major population centers of the bearfolk are in this part of the planet.
The equatorial region of the great continent has a large lowland rainforest, similar to Earth's Amazon basin. But south and perhaps west of this forested lowland there is one of the bearfolk world's strangest landforms; a vast plateau more than a kilometer above sea level and more than fifteen million square kilometers in area, the size of a continent. Most of the southern part of the great continent is this plateau.
This vast plateau is relatively cool because of its high altitude, though the effect is less pronounced than one might expect because of how the cooling effect of high altitude works (the edges of the plateau tend to be cooler than the central regions because of this). A more noticeable difference is that it's rather dry, because the mountains, slopes, and escarpments that surround it stop much of the precipitation that might otherwise reach it. On the other hand, aside from its base elevation it's also mostly relatively flat, a tableland the size of a continent, and this means the rain-bearing winds that do manage to reach it can blow into the interior relatively unimpeded. The result is that much of this plateau is covered by vast "grassland" steppes, though there are also large areas of scrubbier vegetation and desert, especially in the northwest. Altogether, its landscape rather resembles a piece of one of the planet's ice ages.
A large peninsula of the great continent stretches south to a point near the Antarctic Circle; the southern part of this peninsula is covered by a continental glacier.
As mentioned, the bearfolk world also has a second, much smaller continent, about 15 million square kilometers. This smaller continent is centered on the northern hemisphere subtropical latitudes, but it extends into the tropical and northern temperate latitudes. It is rather arid and Australia-like in its western and central regions, but wetter and more fertile in its southern, eastern, and northern regions. It is more-or-less surrounded by a large archipelago. This small continent and its associated archipelago are actually highland regions of a bigger ancient continent that partially subsided to below sea many millions of years ago.

i had an interesting thought and i would like to put it to a (very rough) little test!
*cold/flu season: the time of year when a lot of people in your area come down with the cold or flu
*"early-mid fall", for the purposes of this post, is the time when the weather and nature usually should start shifting in a wintery direction. so right around now. unless you're in the southern hemisphere. mostly i'm curious about whether seasonal allergies play a role at all in this, so you could also judge based off of that.

Note
petition for you to repost the "i can see the pollen"/"i can hear it" part once allergy season starts. you're gonna do numbers with the hayfever girlies (like me)
i mean, give me a specific date and I'll schedule that for you right now osasaoksasas i am a hayfever girlie (did had to google to check but it was right) but I'm in the southern hemisphere, so different allergy seasons if you're in the northern. but really, just send me a date.

Here's a Calendar for TLoZ I Made Up
I'm not sure if I'll actually start showing dates in my "The Realm Walker" fanfic, but for internally keeping track of things, I figured it would help to make a calendar... So here you go!
To keep things simple, there's 30 days in each month, and 12 months in the year, so 360 days in a year. Each month ends in "gari" or "lini" which comes from what Google Translate tells me are the pronunciations of Greek words for moon (Fengari and Selini), while each day ends in "mera" (which again comes from what Google Translate tells me is the pronunciation for the Greek word for day (Imera).)
So here are the months:
Nagari (Nayru’s Moon)
Daltlini (Daltus’ Moon)
Dingari (Din’s Moon)
Falini (Farore’s Moon)
Malagari (Malanya’s Moon)
Hylini (Hylia’s Moon)
Gustgari (Gustaf’s Moon)
Daphlini (Daphnes’ Moon)
Valgari (Valoo’s Moon)
Jalini (Lord Jabu-Jabu’s Moon)
Undegari (Eleventh Moon)
Duodeclini (Twelfth Moon)
Like the real world, it's a mix of rulers, deities, and numbers. Daltus being the king during The Minish Cap, Gustaf being an ancient king mentioned in The Minish Cap, and Daphnes being the king from Wind Waker. You can bet that the Rito and Zora had something to do with Valoo and Lord Jabu-Jabu getting months named in their honor. The last two months come from the Latin words for 11th and 12th.
Now for the days:
Zephmera (Zephos’ Day)
Dinmera (Din’s Day)
Naymera (Nayru’s Day)
Cycmera (Cyclos’ Day)
Farmera (Farore’s Day)
Dekumera (The Great Deku Tree’s Day)
Hylimera (Hylia’s Day)
So I'm starting the week with Monday, so Hylimera is Sunday. Zephos and Cyclos are from Wind Waker, the frog shaped wind gods that fly around on clouds. Since this is the Hyrulean Standard Calendar you can expect that some of the other peoples have different month/day names. In particular, I'm thinking the Gerudo day names would honor the Seven Heroines mentioned in BotW. Rito might switch out Dekumera for Valmera, likewise the Zora might switch out Dekumera for Jabumera...
And some seasonal information...
Spring: Dingari 1st – Malagari 30th | Spring Equinox: Dingari 19, 20, or 21st
Summer: Hylini 1st – Daphlini 30th | Summer Solstice: Hylini 20th
Autumn: Valgari 1st – Undegari 30th | Autumn Equinox: Valgari 20th
Winter: Duodeclini 1st – Daltlini 30th | Winter Solstice: Duodeclini 20 or 21st
Note that these dates are for the Northern Hemisphere. Considering the tropical state of Faron in BotW, it is either near or on the equator, which would make part of Hyrule be in the Southern Hemisphere.
Bonus: Since BotW released on March 3, 2017 (a Friday), the very first scene of "The Ballad of Kass" takes place Farmera, Dingari 3, 100 PC. (PC standing for Post-Calamity) Though I may do a nod to the Elder Scrolls series and use Eras instead (So, Dingari 3, 100 EotW (Era of the Wilds))...
Questions and comments are welcome!
