Hi Hi folks! I was hit by a sudden bought of inspiration to draw Pretender (and N breaking the fourth-wall on this poor guy.)
And I'm @ing @oodlesndoodles and @mylackofgrammaristerrifying because you two are the honest target audience lol! (I twas inspired by your enthusiasm and wanted to do a silly lil comic! If u wanna be un-tagged or removed from the comic lemme know!)
I think Pretender responds very awkwardly to affection because he's used to scaring ppl off but like, monster-lovers pop off, because he's very open to giving/recieving affection if he gets the chance! (<- Moment where my headcanon of him being Genderfluid and Pan comes into play if I do say so myself 🙏) So like. He's honored, but got so flustered he couldn't hold up his disguise and went back to the hood lmao---

I really love your masked reader headcannons!! Especially the LED mask ones. I think it’s such a fun concept and the way all the boys react/ accommodate the reader and their preferences is so sweet!
So idk what your familiarity to Star Wars is but there’s a people (Mandalorians) who traditionally wear armor that covers their faces and bodies pretty much all the time. As such there’s something called a kelblade kiss and what that is is when two mandos press their helmeted foreheads together as a way to show affection when they’re all armored up. I was thinking about this and how the 141 would react if the masked reader leaned their forehead against them in lieu of kissing their cheek in a moment where they wanted to be affectionate but leave the mask on? If you have thoughts I would love to know! <3
OMG THIS IS SO CUTE!! I was raised on the og Star Wars trilogy, even the prequel 3 by George Lucas but I've completely fallen off since Disney's taken the reigns 😭😭 BUT YES I know Mandalorian I didn't know they had the little kiss thing though IT'S SO SWEET TO IMAGINE
Tumblr media
Any physical contact with Price is generally rare when he's on duty, it comes with him just being busy and the natural commanding presence as captain. But when you first press your forehead against his, John's initial confusion gives him a respite from the stress of the military now that his entire focus is on you. It seems he needed the affection more than you did. Now your little forehead taps are his lifeline. Your mask always gets his bucket hat tilting off angle, the front rim a little crumpled when you pull away, but it always leaves him wearing a fond grin that is for you and you alone.
It's a little awkward trying to do it with Ghost, not only is Simon inconveniently tall but his own hard mask makes such a gesture of affection have the tact of a kid shoving the faces of two plastic dolls together. Simon is solid and immovable, and is far too entertained by you nearly self-concussing as you tap your forehead against his, stumbling back in a slight daze. Still, the intentions aren't lost on him and they're very much appreciated. He doesn't do them back, but in more serious moments, he lets you stay, forehead against his. He can't see your eyes but he makes sure you can see the emotions swimming in his.
Soap absolutely adores them! It's your own little form of affection and he loves the little quirks that come with your mask. But for whatever reason, he's taking your little forehead touch as a competition. "Did nae feel a thing!" Johnny would complain, taunting you to go harder next time. At this rate he's just asking to be clobbered across the head but he believes that if it's from you, that's a damn blessing and whatever bruise that comes from it he'll wear with pride. He always reciprocates in kind. It's more of a headbutt with his over-enthusiasm but he must have a forehead of steel or something because he always pulls away beaming.
Your little forehead taps always leave Gaz giggling and bashful. It's been a little harder as of late since he now wears a cap with a hard brim, for a while Kyle thought your lack of recent "mask kisses" was because the two of you had unfortunately drifted apart. He now foregoes the cap whenever you're around. When you enter the room he gives an exaggerated bow down to you, jerking his head up to signal to his forehead and he won't move an inch until you greet him with a forehead tap (this also happens if you ever have to leave the conversation). He tried to give a forehead tap back once but he was a little too enthusiastic and needed frozen peas to the head for the rest of the day.

The Heist - Chapter 17
You can find the rest of the chapters here.
Jake gestured for us to still be quiet. Because I'm a bit calmer now, I understand that we have to wait for James to return to indicate that everything is safe again. The few minutes it lasted seemed to pass so slowly that my heart rate went up again from the nerves. That’s the reason why I am a bit startled when we hear the door above us open and the floor starts to creak again. When the floor creak stops, the basement where we are now becomes lighter, and the hatch in the floor opens. James face appears in the opening he says nothing but puts his finger to his mouth and with the index finger of his other hand he makes a circular gesture in the air. Jake nods and leads me up the stairs.
I don't dare to say anything and look at both men feeling a bit useless, Jake opens his bag and takes out a device then James returns with the same kind of device. I follow Jake around the house to see what he's doing. He takes out a small thing from the closet in the room where we were hiding. As he scans further, both men stop in the living room and put their 'loot' on the dining table. James takes the loot and walks out with it. I dare not say a word until he returns.
"All is clear" James says finally.
I let out a long sigh, I've been holding my breath all this time. "What was all that." I whisper.
"You don't have to whisper anymore." laughs Jake. "Those were nice gadgets from the FBI to eavesdrop on James" he says to answer my question.
I growl a little out of irritation "They stop at nothing to fuck us over.".
"Welcome to my world." he gives me a kiss on my cheek.
After James and Jake assured me that everything is really safe, I went into the bathroom. The warm water from the shower relaxes me and gives me time to think. I don't want to be the fragile doll who needs to be protected all the time. I'm not like that at all, that's why I don't understand why I always get so stressed when things don't go as planned. By the time I turn off the tap, I've kicked myself so much that I'm stepping out of the shower a lot stronger and more confident.
As soon as I get back into the living room, I see James and Jake busily working behind their computers, deep in a discussion.
"What? He's moved again. That man never sits still, does he?" grumbles Jake.
"Knowing you're after him, I wouldn't stay in one place for long either." James smiles back at Jakes grumbling.
"Any idea how James can get in with an excuse?" I ask spontaneously.
Both men look up frowning, absentmindedly.
"What do you mean an excuse?" it's James asking me the question.
"Well, now that Master knows he's being hunted, I expect he will only allow people who are very close to him into his circle. I get that he trusts you, but since Michaels was sent here, it's not blind trust that he has in you, right?" I put my hand on my side and look from one man to the other.
The men look at each other and then back at me. "Damn, that woman of yours has a very good point." I see James cracking his brain.
"Can't we make Michaels pay? Surely the two of you can cobble together something that makes it look like he betrayed Master." I shrug, because in my head it seems very simple. "Then you" I point to James "have a damn good reason to visit Master. And as a bonus, you gain more trust with him".
Jake looks at me in amazement. "Where were you four years ago?"
"You do not want to know." I respond to him with a wink. "But seriously, can you do that?"
"Yes, of course we can. That's how we get in and can break into his network." Jake answers, without looking at me, because the two of them are immediately busy on the computer again.
I sigh obviously hard to get their attention back "Is there anything else I can do?”.
Again they look absent-mindedly at me, I see Jake thinking deeply and then comes with "Yes! You can inform your lawyer.".
And that's what I do. Just like Jake had said earlier in the car when he handed me the burner phone. Just tell the basics of what's going on. Christopher was pissed off as expected, but fully understood what he could and couldn't say about our whereabouts to keep the FBI calm. I promised to keep him informed regularly, if that was possible of course.
Two very long hours went by, I would have died brain dead if the boredom lasted a little longer, James made me jump up by a cry of joy he gives. "I've got it! He's going down!"
James has made an entire file of Michael's real and fake activities. Because they are so intertwined you can't tell which is which. Photos, videos, emails and text messages, all gathered to present to Master as evidence against Michaels. I feel a little doubt as I know what will be Michaels' fate, being found lifeless in the gutter. The doubt is quickly gone, when I then look at Jake. His eye may be a little less swollen, but the marks from the blows he's had are still clear. Which stirs up the anger in me again, and wish I could literally stab the dagger in Michael's back myself.
"We have to wait two days before we can take action. Besides that we have the file now. We need all the information from the farm where Master is now. The security is certainly high." Jake starts.
Now it's your turn @eclecticpatrolroadlawyer  to make the plan complete.

pairings: dabi x fem!reader
warnings: smut, fluff, angst, major character death, mha manga spoilers, slight gore, MINORS DNI
summary: Dabi knew he had to end things soon before they got out of hand. He knew this wasn't supposed to last long, he told himself that everytime he left your apartment in the early hours of the morning. Until he found himself back here again, in your arms and lost between your thighs.
word count: 4.7k words
"... We encourage everyone to stay at home tonight, as there is a possibility of a severe thunderstorm, along with it flashfloods all over the city..."
The television only served as background noise for you as you moved around your kitchen. Cleaning up the dirty dishes and utensils, a small smile on your lips after the friendly company you had tonight.
It's been a while since you invited your friends over for some supper after the long depressing week you had. You needed that, the entertainment and companionship only they could offer you. You've never laughed or cried so hard in months, telling each other about your sorrows and thoughts for your futures ahead.
Being an adult was never easy, especially in a world full of rejected heroes.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you hadn't heard the warning cough behind you, or the tap against your kitchen counter. But you did give a short shriek when you felt someone wrap their arms around your waist, their chin resting on your shoulder, inhaling your scent.
You relaxed once you felt the familiar warmth of who it was. Only one person in the entire world could be dubbed a walking, breathing furnace, and it was him.
"I missed out on a big meal didn't I?" He drawled, his warm hands rubbing soothing circles against your stomach.
"Maybe if you didn't pop into my life every few months, I would've saved you a plate." You sarcastically replied, but you didn't miss the way how you sounded partially hurt.
You weren't expecting much all those years ago when you found him bloodied and passed out behind your childhood home, and you weren't expecting much now.
You never asked questions, and he never pried in your personal life. You were quite fine with that. Not everyone was an extrovert and had their whole life story ready to be dished out. He was a very private person and you respected that.
He ignored what you said and continued to nuzzle his face into your neck. Using one hand to push your hair over your shoulder, exposing your neck to him.
You suppressed a sigh when you felt his warm lips give short kisses against your neck.
"I've missed you." He breathed cold air into your neck, making you stiffen at those words. He's never said something like that before, not once in the six years since you've known him.
Dabi noticed you stiffen in his arms, but he didn't say a word. He wasn't lying. He did miss you, achingly so.
He missed your stubborn attitude, the sarcastic replies that were on par with his own, the homemade cooking you offered to teach him countless of times that he doubt he'd pay attention to cause he wouldn't be able to keep his hands to himself. But most importantly he missed you. The way your touch lingered even days after his monthly visits, the way your lips would pay close attention to the magenta scars all over his body, and the different ways you'd say his name depending on what he was doing to you.
God, he was going to miss all of this once he leaves for the League of Villains.
"I've missed you too." You shyly said, you've never admitted these words aloud before and it felt good to tell him that.
"Turn around for me, I wanna see how good you look." He whispered in your neck.
"Dabi I'm wearing nothing but my puppy printed sweater." You deadpanned.
"It doesn't matter, you always look good no matter what." He playfully nipped your ear, making you roll your eyes despite the heat in your body relocating to your cheeks.
You turned around to face him, a beaming smile on your face that was only ever directed at him. Your heart always soared whenever you looked at him. He was beautiful. The most beautiful man you've ever had the pleasure of laying your eyes on. His eyes were the most vibrant blue you've ever seen, little specks of grey dancing in those pretty blues that were half lidded but always calculative and aware of his surroundings. He licked his lips, bringing your attention to the plump flesh that were an interesting contrast between soft and jagged, and the pink tongue residing in his mouth.
Your eyes were transfixed on his appearance, making sure no hair on his head was missing or any new injuries to his increasing collection. You rested your forehead against his hard chest once you found nothing out of place, letting out a sigh of relief when you finalized that he was okay, and not sporting a limp or any other injury.
"Damn, I stress you out that much huh doll?" You could hear the smirk in his voice, but didn't have the energy to make a snarky remark, only offering him a small smile.
"Your visits are becoming less and less you know, the last time I saw you was five months ago. I was..." so worried about you, you wanted to say. You were so worried that you stayed up everyday, two hours after your initial bedtime hoping that he'd at least show up once in those five months. He didn't, and you were beginning to think he never would, until tonight. You didn't want to tell him that.
He wouldn't care.
You felt embarrassed that you were crying to your friends about him earlier on. Scared that you'd never see him again, not because he's moved on from you as you know there's nothing keeping him here other than sex and a warm bed to crash in, but because you were worried he'd get himself injured or worse. And you didn't like dwelling on what worse could imply.
"I kno–" Dabi's words were cut off by a small sneeze he muffled into his arm. Sneezing twice more before he regained his composure.
You only noticed now that his clothes were slightly damp and heavier than usual. It made your eyesbrows furrow.
"How long were you in the rain Dabi?" You questioned, knowing you wouldn't like whatever answer he'd come up with.
"Ever since your lady friends came by."
"That was over two hours ago? You've been sitting in the rain this entire time?!" You felt your blood pressure rising when he only shrugged at your accusations. It was like arguing with a toddler sometimes.
You sighed again, pinching the bridge of your nose. "I've got a box of mens clothes laying around here somewhere. Go take a shower and I'll get them for you and make you a cup of hot tea."
He quirked one eyebrow up, staring intensely at you.
"What?" You averted your eyes away from his, embarrassed that he was searching your face for something.
He shrugged again, rolling his battered coat off his shoulders and started stripping the rest of his clothes off. You turned around before he could go any further. Busying yourself with getting his tea ready.
Dabi stopped undressing, standing there with nothing but his jeans on. Watching you as you got the correct items in order to make him tea, muttering to yourself about which biscuits he might like with it.
He liked the butterscotch ones, but he didn't bother opening his mouth. Too memorized by the way you moved around so frantically as if he was dying instead of coming down with a small cold.
He liked that about you, he liked a lot of things about you. Especially the way you cared about the simplest things pertaining to him even during moments of intimacy. You treated him like glass even if he didn't offer the same treatment in return, not because he didn't want to, he just didn't know how to go about it.
He frowned.
Dabi was only ever vulnerable around you, and you didn't even realize it. You didn't know the power you had over him, and he'd like to keep it that way. Afraid that you'd use it against him and he wouldn't be able to bring himself to hurt you for that. He could never hurt you.
He found himself walking towards you on impulse, hugging your waist once again. This time pressing his body flush against yours. He heard you gasp and that pulled a smirk out of him.
"Do you know what you do to me?" He gripped your hip with one hand, and snuck the other hand underneath your shirt. His lips against your neck, right above your pulse point.
Your stomach tensed when you felt his hot fingers rubbing soothing circles against it. He pressed you further against him, making you feel the growing length against your ass. You bit your lip, stopping yourself from whimpering too early.
"The way your nipples are perking up so nicely for me in this shirt that's practically transparent is driving me nuts." He snaked his hand further up your shirt, brushing the skin underneath your breasts gently. Your breath caught in your throat as you gripped the counter tightly.
Your panties were clinging to your pussy uncomfortably, you could feel the material getting wetter with each passing second. You tried rubbing your thighs together for some friction, but Dabi wasn't having any of it. He clicked his tongue out of irritation, the hand on your hips falling towards your inner thighs, parting your legs. His hold was strong enough to prevent you from rubbing your thighs together, you wanted to whine when he didn't place his hand right where you wanted them.
Just a little higher.
"I asked you a question doll." He spoke into your hair, taking a deep breath from the rooibos shampoo you used. The smell turned him on even more.
"W-what question?" You whimpered, resting the back of your head onto his chest, sighing out as he brushed the pads of his thumb against your hardened nipples.
"I don't like repeating myself." He growled, pinching your nipples harshly causing you to whimper pathetically in his arms. He continue to tweak at your nipples roughly before groping your breast and fondling it the way he liked.
"Dabi... " You mewled.
"Don't. Don't say my name like that." He gave your nipples a warning pinch.
You bucked up into his hips, involuntarily grinding against his cock. The swollen head rubbing in between your ass despite the jeans restricting him. Making him choke back a groan.
Dabi was just as impatient as was it in his nature to tease. He took his hand away from between your thighs to quickly lick the tips of his index and middle finger, bringing them back towards your aching pussy. You were such a good girl, not once taking the opportunity to touch yourself or rub your thighs together.
He wasted no time in pushing your thong to the side, sucking a deep breath through his teeth when he rubbed his fingers through your slit collecting the thick moisture gathered there. You always got so wet for him.
After coating his fingers in your arousal, he moved his fingers towards the bundle of nerves that had been pulsing ever since he rocked up at your house.
You let out a breathy yes, eyes rolling to the back of your head as Dabi rubbed your clit just the way you liked, grinding it down in tight circles that had your toes curling. He pinched at your clit piercing, knowing how much you liked it when he played with the metal and how easily it could make you gush for him. The pleasure was overwhelming and had you feeling light headed.
Without warning, Dabi plunged those same two fingers into your tight pussy. You bit back a scream as your body jerked and writhed against him. Hips chasing after his fingers as they thrusted deeper into your spongy walls, the palm of his hand grinding against your clit. The stimulation was too much for you.
"Fuck!" You shouted out, bringing your hand down to his, gripping on his wrist tightly so he could go deeper and faster. He could get you cumming around his two fingers alone, he didn't need more than that.
"Dabi please." You begged.
"Please what?" He asked curiously, knowing exactly what you so deeply craved.
The hand around your breast disappeared. He reached for his jeans so he could unzip it and pull it down. A short relieved sigh left his lips once his jeans were pulled down his thighs, just enough to free his heavy cock from all that pressure. He gripped his cock in his free hand, he wanted to feel you around him so bad but he had to be patient, as much as he hated it.
Dabi watched you from underneath his dark lashes, the way your body responded to him in delicious squirms and moans drove him mad. He added pressure to your clit, grinding his palm hard against it. Your body rocked back into him for more, a high pitched wail leaving those beautiful lips he couldn't wait to claim.
"I want you ins- shit shit shit!" He watched your body shaking silently against him, thighs trembling, pussy clamping so hard around his fingers he hissed as he pulled them out and quickly replaced them with his angry, pulsing cock.
"Fuck." Dabi let out breathlessly in your ear, feeling you clench and gush around him as you came. He wasn't prepared for this. To feel you around him after five long excruciating months. He loved the way your pussy gripped onto him after all these years, as if it was the first time all over again.
Dabi pulled your head back by your chin so he could look into your eyes as he drove you into your next orgasm. Ignoring your pained whimpers of pleasure from being overstimulated like this. He dragged his cock slowly out of you, holding back a gasp as he slid out of your warm walls, missing the snug warmth around him, and then slammed right back into you without warning, making you cry out.
Your ass bounced against his thighs as he gained momentum, making him cuss underneath his breath at the squelching noises that came along with it and the mess you made on his jeans. Your hands fell down to Dabi's thighs, gripping them tightly but not tight enough to leave your mark, as he practically seethed from the power trip of fucking you after so long.
The drag of his cock inside you had you nearing your second orgasm so soon, and with the animalistic grunts Dabi let out, you could tell he wasn't too far behind. He usually lasted longer than this, way longer, he underestimated how much he truly missed you it seemed.
"Dhabi... Phleasinside... Please!" He could barely make out what you were saying, a stroke to his ego at fucking you so silly to a point you couldn't use your words properly.
"What doll? Use your words." There was a slight wheeze to his words, your pussy clenching so tightly around him had him close to losing his breath.
"Please cum inside... fuck your cum inside me please. Please!" You momentarily gained back your speech long enough to form coherent sentences. You screwed your eyes shut as you felt your orgasm nearing.
His grip on your hips tightened immensely, no doubt leaving his fingerprints there for days. He wouldn't last much longer and you knew it, the telltale signs of his thighs tensing and the urgent bucking of his hips told you he was close.
Dabi let out a groan so deep from the very depths of his stomach, goosebumps began to rise on your sore arms from the intense sound alone. He forced your head to the back so he could kiss you as he came, making a sound so damn carnal it had you cumming alongside him.
The two of you came together in perfect harmony, your pussy clenching down so hard on his cock it had you lurching forward from the force, breaking the heated kiss. Long strings of hot semen shot up into your awaiting womb, dripping down your thighs when it had no more room to go.
Your breathing was uneven, your chest and throat burning from your screaming session. Forever grateful that you didn't live by your parents anymore, back when you had to muffle all your moans from when you and Dabi used to fool around even back then.
He was no better, his breathing shallow and unsteady.
Dabi didn't pull out just yet, savoring the moment of the two of you being joined as one. His fingers traced the long line running down your back, not caring how sweaty you were as he kissed your shoulders gently in gratitude. After awhile he pulled his softened cock out of you, groaning from the oversensitivity while you winced from the evidence of what took place running down your shaky thighs.
The high from sex quickly came crashing down on him. He wasn't here to have sex with you, it just happened. Guilt began to chew at his mind from what he was about to do next, but the way you looked at him, with those caring eyes someone like him didn't deserve, made him drag this moment out far longer than it should've been.
He wasn't a ''now rather than later'' kind of guy after all.
"Let's get you cleaned up." His stomach churned when he watched you look up at him in confusion.
That's right, Dabi never cared about aftercare or basking in the afterglow. He thought it was unnecessary, but couldn't say he hasn't wondered how it would feel to have you running your fingers through his hair and humming childhood lullabies the way his mother used to do to him.
A pang shot out to his heart at the thought of his mother, quickly stomping those traitorous thoughts from making an appearance tonight. Not now, he thought. Returning his full attention towards you and your warm hand grasping his own. Squeezing it gently to bring him back down to earth.
Usually after he was done he'd leave, not that you were bitter about it or anything. That's just how it was. A small smirk would grace his two-toned lips with a "See you later" sent your way before he left your apartment. It was a little tradition shared between you two, the first time he said it you were still 16, applying ointment to his injuries after you found him in your parents backyard. He abruptly left without so much as a thank you, only offering those three words.
Now whenever he left, he'd always say those words to ease your brewing anxiety in promise of seeing you next time. And he never broke that promise.
He didn't speak to you about it, but you could tell he risked everything by coming to your place every once in awhile. You were not ignorant to the things Dabi did, some part of you knew he was involved with some shady things. Things you didn't want to bring up with him.
A man didn't get that many scars in their 23 years of life by being a good samaritan.
You reached your shower, stepping in while Dabi adjusted the settings to both of your liking, joining you once he was satisfied. You've come to love the heat as much as him, hot showers always reminded you of the flame user.
The water ran hot against the both of you. You looked up at Dabi, surprised to see him watching you. For a short moment, you held his gaze. Wondering what could possibly be running through his head that had him looking so defeated.
He wanted to tell you then and there that he'd have to leave for good this time. The League weren't people to be taken lightly, especially with that unhinged brat as their leader. He wouldn't be surprised if the creepy fucker was the type to kill the loved ones of people in order to maintain compliance.
But Dabi kept his mouth, and reached for your blue loofah instead. Squirting some of your lemon scented body wash onto it, scrunching it up so it could get more soapy. He worked in silence, scrubbing your body gently with utmost care and concentration.
Hell would freeze over before Dabi allows anyone to touch a single hair on your body. He didn't care who it was, even if it was the League members, he'd make damn sure their life would end with them being nothing but dirt underneath his shoe. He had to stop coming over after tonight, he was heading into dangerous, unknown territory afterall and he'd rather avoid killing the people he needed to exploit. His plans were finally at his fingers tips, and he wasn't about to throw them away over sex.
No, it was more than sex, no matter how many times he tried convincing himself that he was only here for one reason, he'd just end up fooling himself. At night when he'd look for shelter on the streets, when his quirk couldn't keep him warm the way he wanted, you'd plague his mind with your sweet smile and honey voice. Scolding him for not taking better care of himself and that he could crash at your place if he needed to get back on his feet.
That's why Dabi stopped scrubbing you just as you began to relax at the newfound comfort. You felt his hands tense against your body, making you turn around in concern.
"Hey. Is everything okay?" You were so concerned about him, his chest tightened. Why did you care so much about someone like him. You were so ignorant and stupid. Could you not see the blood on his hands from all the innocent people he convinced himself he killed out of pleasure. It infuriated him to no end, but he could never get mad at you. Not really. He tried pushing you away before, but you were as stubborn as him so he gave up on that method.
Your shoulders fell from his lack of response.
You were too grown to be playing guessing games with him, it was cute entertaining it before, but not now. Not when you were just coming to terms with... with what exactly?
You had an inkling of what was going on, but didn't want to push further. If he was going to tell you, he would. So you asked the next best thing.
"When will you be back?" You asked hopefully, water running down your face. He flashed you a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. His fingers brushing your wet hair out of your face. He learned in, placing a soft kiss against your forehead, his lips lingering for a moment.
"You're so important to me and I don't want you getting hurt because of my suicidal actions." Was what Dabi wanted to say, but he didn't.
So Dabi did what Dabi did best, deflect from the situation and push his true feelings down. Just when you thought you were making progress (as small as that progress was) in this twisted relationship you had with him, you were right where you started.
"I don't know when, I can't tell you exactly. But just know it won't be anytime soon." Or ever.
"Okay. Just... just stay safe." You whispered, placing your hand above his chest, where his heart was. You could feel the way his heart was beating ferociously against his chest, like a caged animal.
He brushed his thumb against your cheek, wanting to remember how soft your skin felt underneath his fingertips, wanting to remember everything from tonight before he left for good. He gave you one last kiss, this time on your lips. A quick peck that said a thousand words, and got out of the shower getting ready to leave. You stood still underneath the scorching heat of the shower, for the first time in years it actually made you flinch in pain.
You watched as he dried himself off with your towel, not paying any attention to you as his hand reached for the doorknob. Much to your relief, he spared you a brief glance that said everything you needed to know in that moment.
"See you later."
-
It's been ten months since you last saw him, almost a year. And in those ten months you've moved out of the city, got a new job and apartment better than the last. You were happy, content with how life has been treating you lately. Your skin was healthier and glowing, you made time for the gym and started toning your body to your liking. Everything was perfect.
It's been ten months since you last saw him, until you finally did.
There Dabi was, or as it said on the news headline, Touya Todoroki, all over your television. Standing above the ruins of a burning building. His clothes were torn, and his body full of cuts and bruises. You didn't even notice the white hair until the news reporter pointed it out.
There was a ringing in your ear as the camera zoomed in on what looked like a teenage boy emerging from one of the ruins, sporting dual coloured hair. Shouto Todoroki was his name they said, Dabi's younger brother who was a 1st year student at UA High School.
Dabi burst into those beautiful blue flames that you admired so much, while the young boy's left side burst into flames of red and orange. They appeared to get ready to fight, the entire country watching with bated breath.
And then everything happened so fast after that.
You don't remember when the tears started falling, but you do remember the loud sob that tore out of your throat as you watched Dabi's flames engulf him from over-exerting his quirk. He fell on his knees, face twisting as he screamed in pain. You couldn't hear what was happening as the mic from the camera crew melted from the overbearing heat of the two flame users, but you could tell that the pain he was going through was excruciating.
You didn't even recognize your own scream when his body swayed as his flames ate away at his flesh. The staples holding his two skin types together, melting into his flesh. You felt sick to your stomach.
Dry sobs continued to leave your sore throat as you watched the man you've known since you were 16, the man you were afraid to admit that you loved so deeply and finally came to terms with it after six years, slowly dying on national television as the entire world watched and didn't do anything about it.
The anchorman's voice was muffled as you watched your lover fall down, face first into the concrete. His body immobile. Your throat clogged up in pain, all you could do now was cry and watch as his little brother tried reviving him using CPR. A failed attempt, but what else could a 15 year old with zero experience in the medical field do.
A part of you felt like it was being ripped out as you watched heroes rush to the scene trying to pry the young boy away from his older brother. You watched as he pushed them away baring his teeth at them, tears streaming down his young face. You watched as a stretcher rolled by, two medics picking up Dabi's burnt corpse and putting him in that black body bag, zipping it up and slowly moving away from the scene.
The screen went blank, offering nothing but silence as you came to terms with what just happened, before the news anchor popped up, a nauseating smile on his pinched face.
"... The villain Dabi has finally been defeated by his own quirk. A win for hero society against their fight with the villains!!"
You were too numb to tell how many hours passed by as you sat there all alone in your room.
While the country celebrated his defeat, your entire world came crumbling down.
You would never be able to feel his warm hands cup your cheeks, pecking you all over the face while he praised you. You would never get to kiss him again, the type of kisses that left you weak in the knees. You would never get to do things with him that you always wanted to do, simple things such as falling asleep in his arms after a long day of work.
But most of all, you would never hear those three special words of his again, the words you didn't even realize until now, were his way of proclaiming his love for you.
"See you later."

Let Her In
Anime: My Hero Academia
Character: Bakugou Katsuki
Summary: He seems too busy to spend time with, but he assures you he still loves her. One night is all it takes for Y/N to finally realise that maybe she didn't have a space in Bakugou's life.
Song: Naked — James Arthur
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
Tumblr media
"I have to stay late at work tomorrow."
Y/N blinked once at the dishes she was putting away before relaxing her shoulders. "You do?" She mumbled, grabbing the next plate from Bakugou's hands to dry it, "Until when?"
"Probably late, 11 at most." He replied, turning off the tap and shaking his wet hands in the sink.
"You've been having late night shifts for the past week, Katsuki." She pointed out, closing the cabinet and staring at her hands. They were so cold. Nothing could warm them up but one thing.
Bakugou turned to her and replied, wiping his hands to dry them, "I know, but those fucking villains won't let up." He rubbed the back of his neck to release the tension in his muscles, "Trust me, when I have time, I'll be here as much as I can."
Y/N lived in her own apartment, thanks to Jirou and Mina who lived together in the apartment across from her. Bakugou lived only 30 minutes away, which made it easy for him to come over for dinner or to sleep over.
It used to be very, very frequent.
At the moment, Bakugou had been held up at his agency. Y/N knew that her boyfriend was one of the top Pro Heroes who scared off the villains, but she missed him. The first few months were amazing, filled with nothing but happiness and laughs. But it was quiet now.
"Right." Y/N said, moving to clean up the rest of the kitchen, avoiding his gaze, "You can head off, I'll clean up the rest of this."
Bakugou glanced at her, watching as she moved around. She was occupying herself so she doesn't have to keep talking about he's going to miss out date night tomorrow. Bakugou knew it was date night. He tried his hardest to decrease the amount of work he had to do for today, he knew that Y/N was getting lonely. But crime never rests.
"I'll sleep over tonight." He said, pushing in the chairs into the table. He saw how she peeked a look up to him. "I'll wake up earlier to leave for work."
Y/N only nodded, finishing up the chore before Bakugou went into her room. He had spares of clothes in her room that he'd change into for times like these. More often than not, he'd come over to hers instead of Y/N going to Bakugou's. She didn't mind since she had everything she ever wanted. Her home, her boyfriend, everything.
She was as close as she could be to Bakugou. As she could be.
They had kissed, hugged, held hands and even made out multiple times. It's been four months. But there was a road block.
Y/N slipped into the bed after seeing Bakugou already beginning to doze off. He came home late because of hero work, and would work late tomorrow because of hero work. He was most definitely tired and Y/N didn't want him to be more of that. So she faced the other way after kissing the top of Bakugou's forehead, wishing him a good sleep.
She stared at the wall for a good majority of the first hour. Until Bakugou shifted and wrapped his arms around her from behind, mumbling something about being warm. Y/N relaxed a little, feeling her eyes drop a few times. She sighed out softly.
"I love you, Katsuki."
Bakugou didn't speak. He was asleep, of course he wouldn't reply. But Y/N felt her heart ache at how easily she could say it and mean it, and how he hadn't yet. Six months, that was long enough, right? He tells her how lovely and beautiful she was. He loved her. Right. Right?
"You don't have to be scared, Katsuki." She told him, drawing lines of his warm skin, "You can say it back."
She was encouraging him. She wanted to hear him say it so badly. For reassurance that he loved her, at all. If he couldn't do that, then she shouldn't care.
She was giving her all to him, doing everything she could to assure Bakugou that she loved him so much. Bakugou would smile with a roll of his eyes before kissing her over and over again. But that was only half of what Y/N would give him.
Y/N sighed again, wiping her eyes before turning around and circling her arms around his waist, digging her face into his chest. It didn't take long for her to go to sleep, her thoughts finally leaving her alone.
Bakugou brushed his fingers through her hair gently, blinking slowly in the dark as she kissed the top of her head.
He can't.
A Few Days Later . . .
"Get out."
Bakugou's glare softened into just a gaze.
"Wh—... What?" He mumbled out, gruff voice smoothing out for a moment.
"Get. Out." Y/N repeats, pointing to the door of her apartment.
Bakugou stood there, stunned by the sight of his amazing girlfriend. Y/N was standing there in her astonishing dress that she had picked out when Bakugou told her to 'doll up' for a date night tonight.
She was waiting for three hours, remembering that Bakugou told her to meet at the restaurant. She got all pretty, excited that he was going out with her for the first time this month. The first hour was fine, maybe there was traffic or he needed to be patched up. The second hour was when she started blowing up his phone. The third hour was when she felt embarrassed from the waitor asking if she wanted the check, which she took and paid for herself. She made it home five hours after she left.
Bakugou was in her apartment, changed into more comfortable clothing than his hero costume. It was obvious that he had gotten into a fight with the scratches on his cheek. But when he looked over to see her walking through the door, he perked up and complimented her.
She cursed at him, taking off her shoes before wiping her face in the mirror.
That lead to this part of the story.
Bakugou was explaining how he just doesn't have enough time and Y/N was saying how he could've at least texted her first. Bakugou rolled his eyes and Y/N rose her voice. Bakugou said that the world didn't revolve around her and Y/N said that he needed to learn how to give people a chance to get closer to him.
Bakugou scoffed and said there was no point since he knew nobody would be staying that long.
Y/N went silent for a moment as it processed through her mind.
She knew how he acted in public, like he was a lone wolf. This doesn't mean that he went out to other people and said he was single. No, he would never. He just wanted to show everyone that he was independent and wouldn't let anyone in. Y/N knew first hand by the way he was keeping it from her.
But she would've never thought that he didn't want to depend on her. Or let her in.
So she didn't see a point in him still being here.
"Why?" Bakugou said, gripping his sleeves tightly, "Why do you want me to leave?"
Y/N was tearing up. They weren't falling. The tears were puling up in the corners of her eyes. She was shaking and her legs would give out at any moment.
"Because I've given you everything I can and you..." She sighed, using her palm to wipe an eye, "You've given me nothing, Katsuki. You just... You don't think about me as much as I think about you. We're not as important to each other as we thought. And I don't know if we'll ever be."
Bakugou furrowed his brows. He walked closer to her and reached out to hold onto her shoulders. "That's not true and you fucking know it—" He said, voice hard and solid as his face shook with fear, "You know how much I care about you, Y/N, nobody means as much to me as you do."
"But not enough to tell me you love me." She spoke, tilting her head at him, "Katsuki, you need to leave. I can't... I can't keep doing this with you."
Bakugou was hyperventilating. If it weren't for the circumstances of the situation, Y/N would've taken him into her arms and assure him that she loved him deeply. But Y/N was the one who needed him now.
"Give me one more chance, I promise." Bakugou said, pulling her into a gigantic hug and not letting her slip away, "I won't fuck up this time, I swear. I can't lose you Y/N, please."
Y/N bit her lip. She then clenched her jaw.
"Say you love me, Katsuki." She told him, hands against his arms, "Just do that. Please. That's all I ask."
He opened his mouth to say it. He had the words circling his mouth. It was on the tip of his tongue, he just needed to use his voice to say it out loud. Damn it, if he didn't soon them he would lose her.
"Fuck."
Y/N frowned, pulling away from Bakugou. "You need to learn to let me in, Katsuki. Without that, I don't think we can be together." She states, standing back from Bakugou's figure, "Maybe when that happens, I'll come back to you and I'll tell you that I love you again."
Bakugou held his breath as she stared blankly at him. She stood at the sink, leaning back against it once he stepped back from her.
She wasn't going to run into his arms and say that she loved him anymore.
"So what do I do with all my things?" Bakugou asks, glaring at the floor. Stupid voice. Why couldn't he just say those three words? Why did he have to lose Y/N because of that?
"I'll ask Mina and Jirou to drop it off at yours." She stated, still staring at him. She wanted to see how he'd react. Not because she was excited or looking forward to it. But because Bakugou could be unpredictable and sometimes he'd make an outburst. She was cautious. "I'll give everything back."
"Just the clothes I use." Bakugou says, taking the keys off of the table in front of him, "You can keep everything else."
Y/N thought that he must be saying this to be nice. To make sure they ended this on the best terms. Maybe he didn't want things to be rocky between them so their friends wouldn't have to choose sides. She understood and just nodded her head.
But Bakugou told her to keep it all because he didn't want things to officially end here.
He was determined to come back to her and love her again just like he did, perhaps even more. He wouldn't leave Y/N here without proving how much she meant to him. Bakugou needed her. Bakugou wanted her. Bakugou had her. Right there.
Y/N didn't fit into his life, that's how she felt. Bakugou tried to make it happen and he would still try. He had everything in the palm of his hands and he let it go, slowly.
"I'll come back to you." Bakugou said, placing her apartment key copy he had onto the table. He held her copy of his house key in his own hands. "You have my word. I'm not leaving you here. I'll be back for you."
Y/N could see how ambitious he was. He was truly going to try and break down his walls in order to get her back. Y/N didn't know whether that was a good thing or bad thing. Bakugou had his hero work to focus on as well as keeping himself in fit shape for it. In retrospect, Bakugou wouldn't have much time to spend with her. But he wanted to try harder, even though he did so already.
She tilted her head with a gentle smile on her face. Bakugou widened his eyes at her.
"You're crying." He said. A warning, that she was revealing more of how she felt than he intended. He knew she was strong. "Y/N..."
"I'll be waiting for you."
Bakugou gazed at her expression, still smiling and closed eyes. She didn't seem as hurt as she did before, when they were screaming and arguing like crazy. For sure, Mina and Jirou heard. But it was quiet. A good kind of quiet.
Y/N sighed out, shrugging her shoulders, "I... I really hoped it wouldn't come to this. But maybe if we have some time to focus on different things, we can make it back to each other."
Bakugou nodded his head once before warily taking steps towards her. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her shoulders, resting his head against hers. He felt her arms go around his waist and clutch onto the back of his hoodie. She leaned into him.
Y/N was warm now.
"I love you." She spoke, tears drenching his clothes as she dug her head into his shoulder, "I'll be here when you're ready, Katsuki. Just... please don't be too long."
Bakugou kissed the side of her head, closing his eyes and biting the inside of his cheek gently. "If you miss me too much, you can just watch the news. Like you always do." He chuckled, trying to cover up the fact that he was crying too now, "I'll be busting those villains' asses, just wait. And... I'll have you back."
She smiled more, pulling away and leaving him to walk towards the exit. He grabbed his keys, wallet and phone before opening the door.
"See you later, Y/N."
"You too, Katsuki."
He stepped through the door and turned around to close it. When he looked up to her for the last time, Bakugou noticed her playing with her fingers. A habit she had picked up when he couldn't hold her hand. He wouldn't be doing that for a while.
A quick glance for satisfaction before he closed the door behind him.
That sign that she hadn't given up on him completely. That little sign was enough to make him believe he still had a chance.
Bakugou was glad she hadn't taken off the engagement ring.

Commander Kiri x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: heyyy finally got round to writing a Kiri (OC) x Reader yay! I know I've had alot of requests about it so here it is. It still follows the Fallen Premonitions storyline, but reader doesn't end up with Rex, still has her visions of the future and stuff, also they sorta have a thing for each other ahaha, enjoy! x
📷: @pinkiemme (love it so much)
Word Count: 3.4k
"GENERAL!"
The voice of your Commander echoed through the forest as he rushed after you, avoiding the branches that you force threw at him. Your legs ached with pain as you pushed yourself to run faster, not wanting him to catch up with you.
You were on a relief mission, having finished giving the people what they needed, yourself and your two man squadron decided to explore the planet for a while. Neither of you had ever been here before and the shuttle that was supposed to pick you up had been delayed, so there was no point in rushing. You decided that you might as well explore the place with the boys, seeing as they never have a chance to. Which is how you ended up rushing through a forest, having stolen one of your Commanders treats you paced your way through the forest.
Before you knew it, you ran straight into the chest of Hopper, who stood still, glaring at you, all while you gave him a cheeky smile. "Hops, you good?"
"General, what are you doing?" Hopper asked, a hint of sarcasm laced in his tone. You hid the treat behind your back, keeping it out of sight from Hopper and supposedly Kiri.
You rolled your eyes, letting out a small chuckle as you swerved around Hopper, hiding behind him, your head peaking out from the side as you kept an eye out for your commander.
"Nothing!" You innocently smiled, eyes flittering around. Hopper shook his head in annoyance but continued to let you stand behind him, holding onto his arms as protection.
All of a sudden a tap on your shoulder had you flipping around, eyes wide and mouth open as Kiri smiled back at you. "Gotcha..."
"That's not fair, you cheated!" You moaned as you slumped against Hopper who had turned around, watching his General and Commander interact with a curious glint in his eye.
"You're the one who threw branches at me and stole my treat!" Kiri accused as he sent a soft glare your way.
"Wel-" Your words were cut off as you felt a strange presence, no a dark presence embrace your body. You clutched your head in pain as you stumbled, losing your footing. Your head screamed in pain as you felt the darkness embrace your body, you legs weakening as you fell limp. The troopers acted quickly, grabbing you before you could fall to the ground and hurt yourself further.
"General? Are you okay?" Kiri asked, eyes full of concern as he held you in his arms. Hopper checked your pulse only to find a faint beat as he shook you gently trying to wake you up.
"She's not responsive!" Hopper panicked, eyes wide as he looked at Kiri. The Commander picked you up, one hand around your legs and the other around your back as he carried you across to the village. Hopper scurried ahead, looking for the villagers who they had just spoken with, only to find the village completely empty.
"Kiri, there's no-one there! They've all disappeared!"
Kiri furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, eyes flickering around, looking for a safe place to put you. He looked down at you in his arms, your face pale and unconscious as made a split second decision. "Hopper, check that hut over there for supplies, we'll have to make camp here. But be on the lookout, I don't know what's happened but I'll try to contact General Kenobi."
Hopper nodded in understanding, his face stern as he knew your life was on the line.
***
It had been at least an hour since the three of you had made camp. Hopper had found a bundle of material, wrapping you up warm while you shivered unconsciously. You kept mumbling some words, neither Kiri nor Hopper knew what was going on. They had tried to contact General Kenobi but to their disadvantage they couldn't, the signal had been ripped from the village, almost as if this all débâcle was planned.
The boys took it in turns to stay by the fire at your side while the other kept guard by the entrance of the hut they were staying in. Hopper was currently on door duty while Kiri sat besides you, fiddling with his comms, trying to get a signal or something to someone.
"D-dooku...Kiri....H-hops... careful..."
Kiri instantly dropped his comm, his hands coming to hold you down as you shuffled and fought in your sleep. Kiri eventually calmed your down, his body twisting to face you as he gently cupped your cheek, eyes soft as he watched you mumble words. His name to be specific. The very one you had given him, the one he was oh-so proud of.
"Kiri..."
Kiri let out a deep sigh, his eyebrows furrowing as he took a quick glance at Hopper who was focuced on the outdoors before he turned back and spoke to you.
"Cyar'ika, c'mon Y/N, I can't have you dying on me, not when we've just begun. We haven't even had time for a proper mission, or even spend time together." Kiri whispered those few words, hoping Hopper didn't hear him. He leaned down and placed a small kiss on your forehead, leaning down to place his own on yours as he whispered.
"Come back to us. Come back to me."
***
"Kiri! There's some Civ's rolling in!"
Kiri quickly got up, but not before squeezing your hand in comfort, he could have sworn he felt you squeeze back but it could have just been wishful thinking, or he was thinking with his heart.
"They don't look like regular civilians..." Kiri noted as he stood besides Hopper who pulled out his scopes, trying to figure out who the people were.
"That's because they're not! They're clankers! Kriff! Kiri we have to get out of here!"
"We can't!" Kiri instantly turned his head towards your unconscious body in the hut. "She's too weak, we can't move her!"
"Well we have to, otherwise we'll be crushed into pieces and none of us will ever make it out alive!" Hopper retorted, he'd been in a situation like this before with you. But you had been conscious, you had been his saviour, his beacon of hope, but now you were the one who needed the help. That was on of the worst days of his life, but when he saw your face alongside General Plo, he knew it would be alright. You'd taken him into your battalion, practically begged General Plo until he caved and you had been glued to each other since. Hopper wasn't too happy with the way you handled the 265th but you were- no are a good General. He wasn't going to give up on you yet.
"Kiri, you defend! I'll get the General!" Hopper ordered. Kiri panicked, not wanting Hopper to take you, he wanted to be the one, not that he didn't trust Hopper because he did. He just didn't trust himself, would he be able to concentrate when your life was on the line?
No.
He would have to. For his brothers. For you.
Kiri nodded in confirmation as he took out his twin blasters, ready to defend. He started shooting the clankers that came anywhere near the hut, giving Hopper the chance to pick you up and run. Kiri followed suit, but so did the droids, gaining on them as they made their way through the forest, Hopper going as fast as he could, with you slung over his shoulder one hand clutching your back as he shot with the other. Kiri blasting the droids left and right, each one falling down just as quick, but the other behind gaining speed as they soon started to overwhelm the two soldiers.
"Hopper, I can't- I need your help! There are too many of them!" Kiri yelled over the noise of blasters being shot, he narrowly missed a blaster blot being shot into his arm as swooped to te left. Hopper glanced over to Kiri, having taken refuge behind a tree, his back facing Hopper all hope lost from his face, as he breathed heavily. The droids were gaining on them as he took a quick glance. Hopper hid behind a tree, gently placing you on the ground as he placed a small kiss on your forehead whispering a small prayer in mando'a before rushing over to help Kiri.
"What's the plan General?" Hopper asked immediately as he rushed over to Kiri, back to back as they shot the driods that were coming in left and right.
"We need to take out those destroyers!" Kiri stated as he signalled to his right, the two destroyers that were gaining on them. Hopper nodded in confirmation, as he pulled out a grenade, already throwing it in the direction of the destroyers, disabling their shields allowing Kiri to shoot at them, instantly destroying them. But it wasn't enough, they still had droids coming in left and right.
Out of nowhere a force of something threw all the droids back, instantly crushing them to the ground, only leaving the destroyers up, with their shields down, giving the boys a split second to glance back and see you stood there, hands out, a small smile on your face.
"Go..." You whispered, just loud enough for the boys to hear before you gripped onto the tree for support as the troopers quickly looked at each other, eyes filled with fear, not sure whether to go to you or the destroyers. But alas their prayers were answered when several Republic gunships flew in. Generals' Kenobi and Skywalker flying into battle alongside some of thier troopers, giving Kiri and Hopper the chance to rush over to you.
They were too late, Dooku had you in his grip, ready to fly off with you before Kiri blasted his bolts at him, eyes furious as he saw your limp body be dragged away. "Y/N!"
Kiri rushed over to Dooku, blasters held high but never stood a chance against Dooku before he was swept aside like a doll. Dooku regarded this gesture carefully as he watched the young soldier call out your name, leaving his own defenses open. Anakin jumped in at the right time, lightsaber at the ready while he forced pulled your body from Dooku's grip and into his arms. Dooku having already seen your Commander to his left had signalled them to take him instead.
"Kiri! No!" You yelled weakly, tugging on Anakins arms, trying, pleading with him to save Kiri.
"We can't Y/N!" Anakin apologised softly as he watched Dooku fly away, your Commander trapped with the Separatists, all while you stood helpless. You spotted Kiri's helmet, picking it up as you clutched it to your chest, not wanting to let your feelings out in front of Anakin. You caressed the helmet, thumb rubbing over the four arrows marked on it, they represented each of your little squadron, yourself, Hopper, Jester and Luka.
"We'll get you back Kiri. I promise."
***
Coruscant - Council Chambers
"Master Windu, I sugge-"
"No. I'm sorry Y/N, but the council have decided that this mission is far too risky. We can only put our faith in Commander Kiri's hands and hope that he returns to us." Master Windu spoke sternly, eyes fixated on you.
"Bu- I can't let him die! He's my Commander!" You retorted, eyes furrowed in anger.
"We can always get you another one Y/N."
The look of disbelief that crossed your face was more than enough for you to burst out your thoughts. "Then we are no better than the Separatists! Leaving a man behind because he's a clone, because, what, he is replaceable? So are the Jedi, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't at least try and go after them! That is not what the Jedi stand for and not what I signed up for!"
"Y/N! Control yourself." Master Kenobi spoke, eyes sending a warning look at you, instantly telling you to mind your tongue. Obi-Wan's disapproval only angered you further, you wouldn't leave Kiri by himself, not when he sacrificed himself to save you. Why they had taken him was beyond you, but you promised you would get him back.
And you would. Whatever it took. Whether you had the blessing from the council or not.
You bowed in respect. "My apologies Master. I spoke out of turn.. I am just worried about my Commander. He is one of the finest, most loyal person I have ever worked with, and I do consider Kiri a dear friend."
Master Windu nodded in acknowledgement, your apology accepted. "I understand young one, but this matter is out of your hands, as well as the councils."
You nodded in confirmation, ready to leave the council room before Master Yoda called for you. "Yes Master Yoda?"
"Speak to you I wish, in private." Master Yoda asked as he signalled for the other members to leave the room, Obi-Wan placing a hand on your shoulder in comfort before he followed the others out the room.
"What is it Master Yoda?"
"Y/N, sensed a great disturbance in the force I do. Careful you must be when rescuing your Commander."
Your mouth fell open out of shock. "Master Yoda! I-i er, it has been forbidden by the Council, I cannot go!"
"Matter it does not. Ever Clone matters to us, do they not?" You nodded. "Then you will go. Skywalker will go with you, careful you must be Y/N. Dooku looks for you."
"Yes Master Yoda." You knew not to question Master Yoda, especially when he had just given you permission to get Kiri back.
***
"Tell me... Commander... why is she so special? Why do you resist telling me about her?"
The low tones of Asajj Ventress' voice echoed through the tunnels of Dooku's fortress. Her longer fingernails traced the Commanders face, running from the tip of his eyebrow, down his cheek to his lip, before she squeezed his chin in her hands, forcing him to look at her.
Kiri was pinned against the wall on a durasteel contraption, hand held above his head and his leg split apart as they were held down by the same material. His helmet was long gone, probably still stuck on that godforsaken planet, he'd have to get a new one when he got back. If he ever got back. All Kiri could think about was if you were safe, if you made it out alive. He prayed that you did, that whatever he tried to do kept you safe, kept you alive. Your life was worth a million of his, and he was glad that it was him here, instead of you.
"I'll never give you what you want!" Kiri rumbled out, taking deep breaths as she squeezed his windpipe with her bare hands, not using the force.
Ventress growled in anger as he slapped his face, Kiri's head slapping the hard metal as he grunted in slight pain.
"Fine. I guess we'll have to do things the old fashioned way." Ventress taunted as she pulled out a flaring hot viroblade, waving it in the air as she approached Kiri. The blade taunting his skin, as she pressed it slowly, into his upper lip, carving it into his skin. Kiri screamed out, the pain that he was experiencing was excruciating, but it was nothing compared to how he felt when he almost lost you.
Kiri prayed to the maker above, for someone to help him, to hear his pleas, but it was useless. Ventress pulled the viroblade from his face, cleaning the blood off it before hovering over his face again. "It would be a shame to mess this pretty little face up, wouldn't it?"
"Then again, there are several of you clones. Who cares if there's one that's a little bit damaged, or even one less?"
"I do."
Kiri's eyes widened in shock as he saw you approch, your robes swaying behind you as Anakin and Ahsoka followed behind, your twin lightsabers out, a fierce grown painted on your face. Kiri could have sworn he was in heaven, an angel had come to save him, one that had taken the form of you, he would die happily, his last thoughts and visions of you. His eyes started to droop slowly to sleep, as the last thing he remembered was the soft tones of your voice calling his name out.
***
Medical Bay
"Look who's finally awake!"
Luka grinned happily as he hugged his brother, trying his best not to further injure him. Jester copied Luka, giving Kiri a large hug, causing him to slightly wince in pain. Hopper stood on his left as he placed a hand on his shoulder, sending a small smile his way, happy to see his brother alive and well.
"Good to see you back with us Commander."
"Glad to see you too boys." Kiri laughed, although his tone was a little off as Hopper noticed Kiri looking around anxiously.
"She's at a debriefing. Broke a lot of Jedi rules to come get you."
"I-i didn't sa-"
"You didn't have to vod. We already know." Luka smiled, patting Kiri on the arm.
"Already know what?" Your angelic tone echoed through Kiri's room as you entered, a large grin plastered across your face as you saw Kiri wide awake. Kiri's eyes widened in surprise as he wondered if you had overheard their conversation.
The boys quickly looked at each other, before Hopper spoke up, covering up what Kiri had practically confessed to them. "That Ventress got away again."
You rolled your eyes at his statement, taking a seat at the end of Kiri's bed. "She's a coward. She'll always run."
Your boys nodded in agreement, happy to accept whatever it was that you said, moving away from Kiri's confession. "Anyways, I brought some sweets! I bought them from a vendor in Central Coruscant, the twi'lek said they were the sweetest, so I hope they are."
You handed out a packet to each of the boys who looked at them in glee, Jester already stuffing his face with them while Hopper looked sceptical at the sight of them.
"Oh, Hops, they're not gonna harm you! It's just a sweet! Look I'll eat one!" You popped one in your mouth, chewing on the sweet delicacy as you hummed in pleasure. "Here look, Kiri have one!" You took one out, hand coming up to place one in Kiri's mouth when your eyes stopped on the scar that had formed across his upper lip.
It was a deep nasty cut that left a horrible scar, one that you were partially responsible for. "Sorry..." You mumbled, eyes downcast. Hopper could feel the tension a mile away, luckily though before he could intervene, Captain Rex knocked on the door asking for your troopers to report to General Kenobi for their next assignment. The boys said thier goodbyes before leaving you and Kiri alone in the room.
"I am so sorry Kiri! I wish you didn't have to go through all of that, I wish I- we could have done something sooner." Your guilty eyes falling on the scar, and the brusies that scorned his beautiful face.
"Hey, at least we both made it out alive. You saved me, remember? You came back for me."
"I know. But I could have been too late. What would Ventress have done to you if we hadn't arrived on time? If I hadn't gone against the councils wishes? I-i don't know what I would have done." You sighed, feeling the emotions you bottled creep up on you slowly.
"I wish I could take all the pain away for you." You lift a hand, tracing a finger over the scar as Kiri winces slightly, eyes closing in content at your soft fingers tracing his skin.
"You already have."
You look up to Kiri in confusion, eyes caught with his as you leaned in, Kiri simultaneously leaning in too. Your hand moving to trace his cheek as he brought his hand to cup your face his his large hands, bringing your closer as your lips finally met. Eyes closing in content as you felt Kiri's soft lips pressed against yours, the scar brusing your top lip as he pulled away, forehead pressed against you as he smiled happily.
"I would do it all again if it meant keeping you safe."

Past Meet Present || Mario Martinez
Tumblr media
(GIF Credit: @merakiaes)
A/N: This hasn't been proofread. It was written in a rush. Don't hesitate to correct me on the Spanish translations.
Pairing(s): Mario x Reader ▪︎ Angelica x Mario (past relationship) ▪︎ Martinez Family x Reader (platonic relationship)
Summary: Ex girlfriend meeting the new girlfriend.
Warnings: children having no filter, fluff, language, slight angst; physical altercation, Tik Tok dances,
Word Count: 1564
- ♤ - ♡ - ◇ - ♧ -
Bonding with her boyfriend's little sister was beginning to take a toll on (Y/N)'s body. Luisa, a sassy energetic seven year old, had suggested teaching her Tik Tok dances for the Saturday afternoon. And who was she to refuse such a request. She thought after the second dance, the little girl would go and play soccer with her twin Luis in the backyard. But she refused to go until (Y/N) knew every dance she knew. The young woman had a newfound respect for the people who came up with Tik Tok dances and those who mimicked them.
Benee's Glitter paused mid-chorus, Luisa looked in her direction, "are you giving up?"
"No, just n–need to take five."
"If you take five, then you're a loser."
(Y/N)'s eyebrows furrowed, standing to her full height. "How would taking a break make me a loser?"
She flicked her ponytail, "it just does."
Not willing to argue with a child's logic, (Y/N) gulped some water down and tossed the bottle to the side. Gesturing to the young girl to change the music for the next dance. Savage Love by Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo played through the portable speaker, (Y/N) focused on following the movements of the seven year old girl in front of her. She couldn't help but smile as she was shown what to do with her hands. That part was easy, it was moving her hips that (Y/N) seemed to struggle with.
"You gotta move your hips. (Y/N), h-i-p-s. Hips. Abuelita knows the dance and she's an old lady." Luisa shook her head, threw her hands in the air and called out, "abuelita! (Y/N) needs help. Show her how you move with your old lady hips!"
And with that the rambunctious child ran back inside the house, in the direction of where she thought her grandmother would be. (Y/N) heard a familiar laugh pop up beside her, followed by arms wrapping around her waist. With her head turned slightly, she was met with a kiss to her cheek.
"Don't worry, bebe." Mario squeezed her hips and swayed, "I know you can move your hips."
She laughed, "is that so?"
"Yeah, but as a precaution let me help."
With one hand on hers and the other on her hips, he began the famous dance. (Y/N) let him move her hands and then sway with her hips. When it got to the part of both her hands in the air, she made sure to put a little pressure in her sway. With a groan in her ear, she broke free from his grip.
She turned around and tapped his cheek, "thanks for the help, but now I've gotta –"
"Nope, you're staying right here." Mario switched off the portable speaker, wrapped his arms around her body, lifted her up and carried her back onto the porch. He sat down and pulled her close to his chest. (Y/N) laughed, while adjusting herself so her legs hung over the armrest and her head was in the crook of his neck. She breathed in his scent and played with the collar of his shirt.
(Y/N) had been set up on a blind date by her college roommate Carly. After getting dolled up and entering the restaurant she was told to go too, the twenty minute mark rolled around and her date was a no show. Embarrassed at being stood up, she left the establishment and was almost run over by a guy on an electric scooter. Mario had been the one driving it and immediately stopped to check to see if she was okay and to apologise. The pair went to a diner and exchanged numbers by the end of the night. (Y/N) had expected their budding relationship to be platonic, until he admitted his feelings during one of their hangout sessions. After a moment of shock, she revealed that he wasn't alone and she had feelings for him.
They've been an official couple since.
However, this was the first time (Y/N) had visited where Mario had grown up and met his family. They had met briefly through facetime whenever she happened to be present while Mario was on a call. Meeting them in person was different. She got along with Ruben, Abuelita and the twins. It was Ruby and his mother Geny who were still weary of her. (Y/N) put it down to Mario's almost being a father fiasco.
Yeah, he told her all about it.
"Mario, I didn't know you were back."
Sitting up, she looked straight ahead and found somebody on the opposite side of the fence. From the pictures Mario had shown her back in his dorm, it was Angelica. The girl he experienced many firsts with and most notably his first love. Mario had told (Y/N) all about him being friends with his ex girlfriend. She wasn't intimidated by her in the slightest. But that didn't mean she was going to be all buddy-buddy with her. She'd keep it cordial.
"Oh, hey." Mario shifted slightly, (Y/N) hopped off his lap. He stood up and walked over to her. When he noticed (Y/N) hadn't walked beside him, he held out his hand behind him, smiling when she accepted and wrapped an arm around her waist when she was close enough, "this is my girlfriend (Y/N). Bebe this is Angelica."
(Y/N) smiled and held out her hand. "It's nice to meet you, I've heard quite a bit about you."
Angelica ignored her and continued looking at Mario, "So… how's your sophomore year in college been?"
"Wow… okay, just ignore me then." (Y/N) muttered under her breath and retracted her hand, "bitch."
This time Angelica acknowledged her.
"What did you call me?"
Not being one to back down easily, she replied, "a bitch." With her quick reflex, she grabbed onto the hand that was going to slap her, "gotta be quicker than that sweetie."
Angelica pulled her hand back and glared, before focusing back on Mario. "¿Puedes controlarla?"
"She doesn't need to be." Mario replied coolly. "She's her own person."
(Y/N) scoffed, "of course I'm my own person." But, then looked in between the two, "wait, did she say something about me?" Looking back at Angelica, "care to elaborate?"
"Why don't you go inside, (Y/N)." She pointed behind them, "Mario and I have a few things to discuss."
Before (Y/N) could respond, her boyfriend beat her to it.
"What do we have to discuss, Angelica?" Mario questioned. "No tenemos nada de que hablar."
"I'd rather not discuss our personal business when someone else is present."
"Our personal business? Our personal business ended the day I went back to college. We don't have anything –"
She cut him off, "we have a history, Mario."
"That's all it is, history." He replied, "this is (Y/N) (L/N), my girlfriend. My present and potential future, Angelica. Yeah, we have history and I'll always be thankful for what we had… but, that's it. We can go back to being friends –"
"What if I don't want that? What if I want to be more than that? What if I want to go back to us being together?"
He shrugged his shoulders, "we can't." His eyes found (Y/N)'s and a smile graced his face, "I've got something good and I'm not gonna mess it up." He looked back at her, "one day you'll meet someone like I have too."
(Y/N) pressed a loving kiss to his cheek. He responded by pressing one to her forehead. She let out a squeal as his fingers squeezed her hips. He laughed when she slapped his chest.
Angelica watched their exchange with a mixture of hurt, sadness and anger bubbling up inside of her. She used to be in (Y/N)'s position and was looking forward to reclaiming the title of being Mario's girlfriend when he came back… only to be told by one of her girls that he was seen around town with a girl. She refused to believe that Mario had moved on, but the evidence was right in front of her. The difference between the last time she had seen him and right now was she no longer had a hold over him.
She couldn't do anything other than walk away. Rekindling her romance with Mario Martinez wasn't an option anymore. Like he said, they were history.
The pair noticed her disappearance when they headed back inside to grab something to eat. (Y/N) felt a little bad for Angelica, but hoped she'd move on. Because she wasn't gonna play nice if Miss Ex decided to come around and get her boyfriend's attention. And if Mario allowed that to happen, she'd beat both of their asses.
"Everything okay, mi amor?"
She smiled and cupped his chin. "Angelica may have been your first love, but I intend on being your last," pecking his lips, she giggled, "until I pop out one of your big headed babies."
"No babies!"
With an eye roll from her boyfriend and a headshake he yelled back, "It was a joke, ma." Before he turned back to (Y/N), "or it wasn't 'cause I'm in the mood to practice if –"
"MARIO!"
"Another joke, ma."

Cruel Summer: Part Two
Warnings: language
Pairing : Chan x reader
Walking down the hall of the hotel I wished he would chase me. I imagined him to confess right before I walked out. He would say " you're so much more to me." Then I would look at him and he would look at me and see me and not my body. I quickly made it to the elevator looking at my hand holding the room key.
"Fuck..." I muttered. Standing in the elevator my mind replayed the last moment. His face was facing downwards so I couldn't see how he felt. But he knew how I felt. I made it so obvious in that moment. He wouldn't want anything to do with me now. Not after that. Get tangled up with someone who had feelings for him when he didn't feel the same. He won't call me I thought. He won't text me and this will end here. A not so happy ending to my night. What started out with stolen stares and secret meetings turned into a dramatic exit of a side hoe. I'm ridiculous. I really thought he would just chase me and confess. I'm more delusional than I thought.
The elevator dings and I step out looking around the lobby one last time. I recall the moments we shared in different places. Our first night when he was getting us the room he looked so nervous it was endearing. The concierge picked up on what was happening and figured we were a young couple finally able to break away from our parents for a night commenting "Have a night away you too and I wish you a happy future." To which Chan blushed and bowed. Moments like that made me feel like we were a couple and it felt so right.
Walking to my car I remember the first time he kissed me. It was raining and I was looking for my umbrella in the back seat. He laughed behind me already holding it and keeping us dry.
"Chan! Why didn't you tell me I've been rummaging for four minutes now!" I said annoyed but smiling.
"I figured you would figure out since you're not wet from the rain." He laughed pulling me in.
"You just wanted to look at my butt I bet!" I said playfully slapping his arm.
"You caught me!" He laughed holding my face in his free hand. "You caught me.." he mumbled looking in my eyes longingly as he moved toward my face kissing me.
A single tear ran down my face knowing this is the last time I'll see him. That's the thing about illicit affairs.. they show their truth one single time and then they die. A billion little times.
I step into my car and sigh defeated. I'm stupid. I'm stupid. I'm stupid. If I stayed and kept my mouth shut everything would be fine right now. But no I had to make a scene and now I can't even think of him without hating myself. I check my phone for any sign of a second chance with Chan. The screen was blank with no notifications. I guess I never mattered to him.
I hear a tapping on my window which scared me a bit and I roll it down to see a figure standing at my door.
"Hey ma'am there's someone who's been following you to your car just to let you know. I've been watching on the security cameras he took the elevator after you and followed you out here. He's sitting over there by the vending machines." A man in a security uniform tells me.
I look over to the vending machine to see a dark figure leaning on it but looking away.
"Oh ok thank you sir." I said as he walked back into the hotel through the security door.
How peculiar I thought. Maybe it was him.. I felt a sudden jolt and got out of my car leaving my things inside. I locked it and approached the figure slowly. My feet on the gravel making my foot steps known the figure turns around.
"Christopher?" I asked waiting for him to smile at me and walk towards me. But the man stood still. Maybe he didn't hear me. I approached him closer asking again.
"Christopher is that you? I didn't think you would come out here and" my sentence stopped once I realized it was not him. The Man standing there held a camera and wore a grimace. My head beat was in my throat at this point and I froze.
"So you know Bangchan huh?" The man said his face appeared but he was wearing a face mask so I couldn't make out his full face.
"Uhh no no I was just looking for someone else my brother ran away.." I panicked backing away.
"That's not what these picture tell me. I've been watching you two for a few months now. I know everything." The man said confidently.
"Why didn't you sell the pictures then?" I asked quietly.
"Cause I knew I could sell them better with a story. How's the headline "stray kids bangchan's secret affair ends sour". He said laughing.
"Or how about "exclusive interview with leader of stray kids Fuck doll" he laughed again.
I didn't know what to say. I simply just began to cry. Not only did I lose Chan. But I ruined his career.
The camera flashed at me and all I could do was stand there and cry. The entrance opened and the manager came into to see what was the commotion. Shooing away the camera man he walked me to my car and asked me questions. But to be honest I don't remember anything.
I woke up the next morning in bed. My tear stained cheeks told me it was not a dream and it all clearly happened. I reached for my phone to check the time.
1:58 am
I look around in the dark and smell a familiar scent. Sitting up quickly I waited a second for my eyes to adjust to the night. How did I end up here? All I remember is the flashes of the camera and stumbling to my car with the help of the hotel manager but am I home? I hear something stir behind me and I then piece together everything. I'm still with Chan?
My shocked breath and jerk of my body awoke Chan who seemed awake almost immediately.
"Chris..." is all I could say. He breathed out deeply and sat up.
"Is it ok if I turn on the light?" He asks me and I nod assuming his eyes are adjusted like mine.
He rolls over the turn on the table lamp and rolls back over looking at me with sorrow in his eyes.
"I know you don't want to talk but you don't have to.." he began.
"All I ask is you listen.." he said taking a deep breath and looking at me.
We sat in front of each other. Our legs crossed and our eyes looking into eachothers. The mood felt serious and I wasn't sure about how to feel. It never felt this way with him.
"I want to apologize first.. I never meant for it to end up this way. I know you might think badly of me I can tell by your body language but I'm unsure why to be honest." I felt my blood begin to heat. He doesn't know why?
"I feel energized with you. You're an escape from my job. You make me feel good and I feel like I have a lot of fun with you." He explained looking in my eyes. He only sees me as fun? I'm like an arcade for a group of kids after finals is over. A reward. The taste of an ice cream cone after a long run. Tears begin the well up in my eyes which cut off Chan's umms.
"Actually listen I don't think I want to do this no I can't Chan." I said stuttering. His reflexes made him reach for my hand which i sharply pulled away hurt.
"How dare you..." I said louder than his calm talking voice he was using before. This caught him by surprise as he leaned back. Eyes wide open he looks like he's about to speak.
I cut him off " How dare you do this to me. You've made me a mess. I can't stop thinking of you. You call me baby and you don't think of the consequences. You kiss me with so much passion you make me think it's real for a minute. You hold my hand when we cross the street and squeeze it when I get nervous in crowds. Then you say I'm your fun away from work." I raised my voice. Getting up from the bed.
"Have you ever thought about how I feel?" I cried. I walked towards him. He was now staring at me eyes widened. His breathing was heavy but not as labored as mine as a weep between my rage.
"I'm a toy to you right? You play with me then I break. You'll find a new one yeah..." I was hysterical. Dropping to my knees with a thud I sobbed uncontrollably. Chan stood up immediately. You would of thought I was stabbed judging by his reaction as he rushed over to me. It felt that way though. I felt as if my heart had a knife tearing through it every aching moment with him in that room.
"I need to to breathe... come on please just take a breath" he said to me as he tried to help me stand but gave up and just held my shaking body. I pushed him away from me and stood up using the bed to support myself. He composed himself and stood up aswell.
I screamed for whatever it's worth "I love you! Ain't that the worst thing you've ever heard!" Wiping my tears I look to the window as a head police sirens approaching. I sniffled and shuffled toward to window to see what was happening. He walked over to the window and stood silently with me watching.
The man who was holding the camera to me earlier that night was being arrested and yelled at by the hotel manager.
I glance over at Chan.
He looks up grinning like a devil.
"It's new. The shape of your body. But it's blue. The feeling I got." He said looking at me. I turned towards him confused.
"It's been a cruel summer..." he continued.
"It's cool.. we didn't make any rules it was an unbreakable heaven.." I laughed sadly.
"I don't want to keep secrets just to keep you. " he said still looking at me. Reaching for my hands I let him hold them.
"I love you..." he finally said smiling.
"That's the best thing I've ever heard." I said back as he pulled me into him. Kissing me with as much passion and vigor I had wished.

The three times Steve Rogers helps you breathe, and the one time you help him
Pairings: Steve Rogers x Reader
Warnings: mentions of several panic attacks, violence, major character death, angst, mentions of blood and injuries
Y'ALL this been in my notes for years and I could never finish the last bit before now
Tumblr media
Joining the Avengers was the second easiest thing you had ever done. With combat skills that rivaled the Black Widow herself and a precision close to Hawkeye's, all it took was Tony Stark witnessing you take out a group of alien robots, without breaking a sweat, and you were in.
Now the easiest thing you had ever done? Falling in love with Steve Rogers. It was the little things at first, his kind eyes and contagious, bright smile that made your heart flutter and bring out a smile of your own even on your worst days, and his golden heart that always wanted to make sure you felt right at home with the rest of the Avengers. But then you got to know him. His eagerness to do what was right, his passion for drawing, watching movies and talking for hours on end once the screen turned black. His fears, not being able to protect everyone. When nightmares became too much, he always welcomed you at his door late at night with tired eyes, eyebrows furrowed at your shaking, sweat-coated form. His words and a soft, reassuring embrace always brought you back, made you feel safe and warm.
There were times you felt like a nuisance, disrupting Steve's sleep for problems he shouldn't have to care for, but he promised he didn't mind, he'd never mind. And you realised that when you found out you were the only one who had access to his room at every hour of every day. And one night a soft knock at your door stirred you from your sleep, and there stood Steve, panting with tears in his eyes from his own demons that haunted him in his sleep, and you welcomed the super-soldier in his most vulnerable state with open arms and soothing words. You were always there for Steve, and he was always there for you.
The first time it happened was on a mission with Natasha and Steve. It was meant to be quick and easy, follow the suspect and capture him. Except he grew too antsy and held a woman, not much older than yourself, at gun point when he realized the Avengers had been tracking him. With you on the roof of a nearby building as their sniper, Natasha had told you to take the shot. The shot was risky, with a crowd of people surrounding him, and the target was much farther than you've had experience sniping with, and you hesitated before you shot. That one second of doubt is what got the woman killed; the target pulled his trigger before you pulled yours.
You've had your fair share of panic attacks before, so you knew when one was coming. Back on the quinjet, Steve and Natasha tried to convince you it wasn't your fault, but their pleas fell on deaf ears as you stared numbly at the floor, thoughts racing a mile a minute. Steve picked up on the change of your demeanor immediately, you'd never acted this way in front of him before. So when you excused yourself as soon as the quinjet landed, and all but ran to your room, he followed you. His heart broke at the sight of your trembling body, collapsed on the floor of your bedroom with tears streaming down your face, clutching your chest as you struggled to get a gasp of air in your lungs. He fell to his knees and cupped your face in his hands, forcing you to face him.
"Shh, shh, I got you," he soothed. He breathed in and out slowly, waiting for you to follow his lead. And his beautiful blue eyes was what did it for you, filled with concern and something else you couldn't quite pinpoint but it made you feel safe, and made your head spin with how fast it calmed you. You followed his breathing with stuttering breaths and closed your eyes as he pressed his forehead against your own. You licked your lips, your tears leaving a salty taste, as you listened to his words. "I'm here. I'm right here." One of his hands found its way into your own, and he gave it a gentle squeeze as he stroked your cheek with his thumb, as if to make you aware that his words held nothing but truth. "It's okay. It's gonna be okay. I promise," he whispered.
You talked about everything and nothing that night, anything to get your mind off of it. And when you were ready, Steve held you in his arms as you cried and cried because you felt responsible for that innocent woman's death. Nothing but gentle reassurances and words of encouragement and understanding were spoken the rest of the night. And in the morning, when both you and Steve had woken up in your bed, facing each other, you had your first kiss.
The second time it happened was in the middle of a forest outside of a Hydra base. You and Steve had infiltrated the base and had taken out groups of Hydra personnel before Steve ran ahead, eager to protect you and finish the mission. That was his greatest strength, yet his biggest weakness, you believed, he cared about everyone's safety before his own. Footsteps echoed behind you, and you reacted quick as you ducked, and swept your leg out, knocking the man onto his back. You stomped on his wrist and heard a crack as he cried out and released the gun, bending forward, you placed both hands on his upper arm and dislocated his shoulder, rendering his dominant hand useless.
"No, please!" He cried out. You kicked the gun away and stood back, eyes squinted at the man in front of you. He sat up, clutching onto his arm. "The whole place is rigged to blow. Please, let me go."
And then it hit you, how easy it was for you and Steve to enter. The few goons you two ran into that were way too easy to defeat. It was a trap. Tapping into the comms, you ran through the base. "Captain, get the fuck out of there. This place is wired to blow!" You tried to look for him, searching every corner, only to come up empty. "Steve!" you pleaded.
Finally, he answered over the comms. "Understood, Y/N," he answered, slightly out of breath. "Get out. I'll be right there."
And you didn't even hesitate to find an exit and make your way into the forest outside. "Captain?" you yelled out, searching around for the familiar head of blond hair and striking blue eyes. "Steve!" Before you could call out to him a third time, the entire base blew up, and you fell to the ground. Standing up on shaky legs, hands pressed to your ringing ears, you examined where the building once stood, now nothing left but rubble, smoke, and fire in the aftermath. You were quick to tap into the comms again. With a shaky voice, you whispered, "Steve?" Only to receive no response. "Please," you begged. "Please, no!" you cried out.
You were an idiot to leave him behind. You could've helped him, and you both could've gotten to safety together. Instead, you were foolish enough to believe Steve wouldn't run into any trouble, that he'd get out in time, when he could've gotten out faster if you were just there with him. And now... Now he might be gone. The blame, the thought of never waking up in his arms ever again, never being able to kiss him, never even telling him how much you loved him, it became too much, and you found yourself on your knees. Hands clutching on to the dew-covered grass, as you struggled to find your breath.
A set of arms encircled around your waist as someone turned you around. And there were those beautiful blue eyes you thought you'd never see again. One hand clutched in your own, and another cupping your face. "Shh, I got you, baby. I'm here. I'm right here." A squeeze and the rubbing of his thumb against your cheek. In and out, he breathed for you. In and out. In and out. Blue eyes filled with concern and love, you finally realized all those nights ago. "It's okay, doll. It's gonna be okay. I promise."
And when you finally could breathe again, you kissed him with everything in you. And you told him you loved him for the first time over and over again and cried when he said it back.
The third time it happened was when the Avengers fell apart. Steve found Bucky and caused tension between Tony and himself. He promised you Bucky didn't do anything, and that anything Bucky had done had been under the influence of Hydra. The Winter Soldier wasn't Bucky, not the Bucky he knew, the Bucky that came back to him when he saved Steve's life. And you believed him because you trusted him with every fiber of your being. After the Sokovia Accords were introduced, you refused to take sides, and although a little upset, Steve understood because the Avengers were the only family you had left, and you hated to see it divided.
So when Steve had come back to you, shieldless, bruised and bleeding, claiming the Avengers were no more, you couldn't help your mind from racing. What did this mean for your family? For Tony? For Steve? Would you ever see any of them ever again? Your breath escaped you yet again, and you clutched on to Steve because you felt lost and confused. After 2 years of being with the Avengers, being with Steve, it's all you knew. What did this mean for you?
An instinct now, Steve cupped your cheek and clutched your hand. Blue eyes staring into your own. "Shh, doll. I got you. I've always got you." In and out. "I'm right here." A squeeze and a kiss on your forehead. In and out. "It's gonna be okay." He spoke clearly and forcefully because you needed to hear that more than anything right now. "I promise you, sweetheart. It's gonna be okay."
And as you both held each other and cried because things were never meant to go as far as they did, you realized that as long as you had Steve, you'd be fine because although the Avengers were your family, Steve was your home.
.
.
.
.
.
Two years had passed, and you had been in hiding with Steve ever since. There was the occasional visit to Wakanda to see Steve's oldest friend, Bucky, but you were never allowed to remain in one place for too long. Two years of running and a new threat had emerged, one bigger than any superhero had ever faced, the Avengers toughest villain yet: Thanos. You stood alongside Steve, Bucky, T'Challa, Okoye and many other heroes as you desperately fought against the Black Order and their giant army.
All it took was one glance, eager to find a head of blond hair and piercing blue eyes, one moments distraction for Proxima Midnight to use the split second of weakness to pierce you with her spear. She barely acknowledged you, moving swiftly on to another battle as if you were as inconvenient as an annoying mosquito.
You only felt pain for the second she stabbed you and removed her spear. It felt numb afterward, but you could feel yourself grow weak as you fell to your knees, no longer able to support yourself.
You could faintly hear Bucky call for Steve as he watched the blood pour out of your wound, but the battle around you became background noise as you clutched your stomach, hands quickly drenched in red. Your ears were ringing, and just as you were about to fall forward, a pair of strong arms caught you before you felt yourself being lifted up.
Steve ran into the woods, anxious to get you somewhere safe. He laid you in his lap, sitting against a tree, eyes wild and frantic as he pressed his hand against the gaping wound in your abdomen, anything to stop the amount of blood that was leaving your body.
You gazed up at his face, beautiful as ever, with hooded eyes, trying your hardest to stay awake and enjoy your final moment with the love of your life.
"I-I... I c-can't," Steve murmured, voice breaking and tears falling at the sight of you. "Not you," he whispered. His breath was leaving him and his eyes were filled with fear as he searched everywhere to find something, anything to help you.
You recognized the signs immediately, suspicions confirmed when his chest began rising and falling quickly, body trembling, as Steve gasped, trying his hardest to get air into his lungs.
And so you lifted a shaky hand up to his cheek, ignoring the way it stained his face red. "Shh," you whispered. "I got... you," reciting the words he'd told you many times before. You breathed in and out for him, like he'd done for you all those moments before. He watched you with eyes filled with heartbreak, but he followed your breathing with stuttering gasps and ignored the way you wheezed, as if breathing was becoming harder and harder for you.
You placed your other hand over his, against your wound, squeezing with the last bit of strength you had. "I'm," you inhaled shakily, "right h-here." Your movements were slow and weak, removing your hand from his cheek and kissing your pointer and middle finger before bringing them to his sweat-coated forehead. "Y-You... Y-You'll be... okay. I p-promise," you uttered, voice breaking and your own tears beginning to show and match his own at the thought of never seeing Steve again. But he didn't need to know how much it pained you to be a part from him, he needed to be reassured that his life would go on, that he would be okay, like he reassured you many times before.
Your hands fell limply as you felt your life slipping away. "Breathe for me, baby," you whispered, Steve choking on a sob. "I love you."
And when he took his first breath, you took your last.

Tumblr media
It had been 2 days since ellie had been back in L.A, she borrowed her dad's car and headed to the local elementary school to enroll Luca. Since it was summer still Luca would start Kindergarten in the fall. They walked into the office of the school, Luca beamed as she looked around. “Mommy, is this where I am going to school?”
“Yes Luca. this is where mommy went to school when I was your age.”
They were greeted by a tall slender woman. “Hello, how may I help you.”
“I am here to enroll my daughter for Kindergarten.” Ellie looked up, her eyes widening as the woman smiled back at her.
“Of course.” she looked down at the papers “Miss Martin… Ellie Martin? Is that you?”
“Ah, Hi Ingrid. Nice to see you again.” Ingrid smiled, Ellie couldn't tell if she was enjoying the fact she clearly got pregnant right out of high school or if she was actually happy to see her. “So good to see you too, and this your daughter Luca?” She looked down at Luca who smiled brightly at her, she looked back at Ellie and she could tell the gears were turning. Ingrid knew she was dating Logan then, she tried hitting on him at brent's party and he shot her down. She also knew that she was seeing colt, that was much clear by the way they couldn't keep their lips or hands off each other at prom.
“Yes, this is Luca. Luca can you say Hello.”
“Hello miss? Um, what is your name?” Luca spoke. “I am Mrs Vandermeer, it is a pleasure to meet you Luca.”
Ingrid went over her registration, noting Lucas test scores well advanced for a 5 year old. “Well, she is definitely bright like her mother.” Ingrid smiled “Everything looks to be in order, It just seems to be missing fathers information.”
Ellie dropped her head “He's not in the picture.” she never felt more embarrassed then she did in that moment. Here she was, high school valedictorian and didn't know who her child's father was.
“I see. That's ok, we have your father as an emergency contact, and Riya Washington. That's nice you guys are still friends.” She couldn't tell if Ingrid was trying to be nice or secretly talking crap to herself,  but she appreciated the bail out. “Yes, Riya and I are still close.” Ellie looked over at the photos on her desk, a small child with blonde hair in every frame and one of her and her husband. “Oh. You married Brent?” Ingrid smiled and held out her hand displaying a ridiculously large rock. “Going on 3 years. We have a son and another little one on the way.” Ellie felt the smallest twinge of jealousy, but she was also really happy for Ingrid.
“Congratulations Ingrid. I am really happy for you.” Ingrid nodded,  a silent agreement they forged at prom 6 years ago looming between them.  She turned to Luca “Well, you miss Luca are officially a kindergarten student.” Luca jumped up “Alright! Yay! Mommy, I'm gonna need to go shopping, I have to look my best for my first day of school.” she turned to Ellie, hands on hips. “But Lulu sweetie, you have a month before school starts.”
“Well I have to have time to plan mommy.”
Ellie wasn't a fashionista, this trait her daughter had reminded her of Logan.  He loved to get dirty working on cars, but he was a pretty boy, and cleaned up nicely.
They made their way back to her dads,  Ellie dropping Luca off so she could run a few more errands and stop in her new office to sign a few papers before heading home. She drove along in her father's older Honda, passing a few places that sparked some memories. She came up to a red light, her attention drawn to the large empty parking lot next to her. Her heart raced as she noticed the chunks of pavement missing from where she flipped her car Setting up the brotherhood .  All the money that school had, and they couldn't fix the parking lot. She made her way through the city one thing she did not miss was all the traffic lights. She awaited the light to turn Green when she felt a sharp jolt come from behind pushing her forward.
“son of a fucking bitch.” she climbed out of her car “Did you just hit me?” her anger took over her. “I am so, sorry.” a young girl got out of the car. “I just got my license a week ago. Man my dads gonna be so mad. Maybe he was right, Driving is Dangerous.”
The girls words hitting her like a ton of bricks, quickly softening her mood.
“Hey. Its ok, accidents happen. Don't let it discourage you from driving.  It is your right to drive, but you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times.” she reassured the girl. “I'll take care of this, you call your dad. I am sure he will just be happy you are ok.”
Ellie called in to inform them of the accident, the police came and took a report. They had to tow the car since it suffered some rear end damage. She pulled out her car calling Riya to pick her up. Once they got back to her dads Riya and Ellie sat around catching up. “Can I just tell you how stupidly excited I am that you are finally home?” Riya squealed. “I know, it kind of feels good to be home to be honest.” Ellie gave her a half chuckle.
“We should go out and celebrate.” She squeezed her hand. “No Riya. I couldn't, what about Luca?” Ellie shook her head. “Ellie, you never take time for yourself. Your dad can keep Luca, come out, let loose.”
“Riya is right sweetheart, go have fun. I got Luca.” Her dad cut in. “ are you sure? I don't want to take advantage of you.” Ellie hesitated.
“Nonsense,  I finally get my girls home, Im making up for lost time.” He turned to Elie who was coloring “What'dya say munchkin, popcorn and movie night with Grampy?”  Luca jumped down from the table. “I say Heck yes!” She winked.
“Luca Rose!” Ellie shrieked.  And that reminded her of colt. “Sorry mommy.”
Riya and Ellie headed out, she found an outfit for the evening and they went back to Riyas to get ready. Riya and Darius bought her parents house after they retired and moved to Florida. She walked in and immediately colts face flashed through her mind. The way he looked at her when she descended the stairs in her pink prom dress. She wondered momentarily what he was up to, before she was pulled from her thoughts.
“The trio is back in action.” Darius shot finger guns at her as he pulled her into a hug. “Good to see you smartie pants.” he grinned. “Good to see you too Dare. Wheres Marcus?”
“Put him to bed. Toddlers are a lot of work.” he grunted. Ellie shook her head in agreement.
“Sorry to break up the reunion, but we need to get her ready to meet a man tonight.” Riya giggled as she pulled her up to the bedroom so they could get ready. “Riya NO, that was not the plan. I don't need a man.” Ellie refused.
“Just… go, in there and get ready.” Riya nudged her into the bathroom.
Ellie curled her hair making loose beach waves. She applied minimal makeup, she was never one to doll herself up. Truth be told she was envious of every girl with flawless makeup, she could never quite master the art of the contour.
She stepped out in a knee length little black dress, that accented all the right parts. Riya let out a low whistle. “whoa mamma, somebody's gonna get lucky tonight.”
“oh god no! I'm not going anywhere near a man. I'm just happy to hang out with my bestie.” she kissed Riya on the cheek, leaving a red lip print. “Ellie, you asshole.” Ellie playfully shoved Riya. “Come on, our uber is here.”
They entered the club, the lights blinding them as they made their way to the bar grabbing some drinks. The couldnt find a table so they stood by the bar, they talked and laughed for a while,  having drink after drink before deciding to head out to the dancefloor. They twirled and moved to the beat, getting lost in the rhythm. For the first time in what felt like forever she felt her worries melt away, she hadn't felt so free, so Alive in a long time. “I gotta pee.” She tapped Riya on the shoulder. She made her way to the bathroom,  passing the VIP area. She could hear girls laughing loudly and flirting, people cheering. She rolled her eyes. Probably some bimbos looking for a hot shot to take one of them home. She made it to the bathroom, or the extremely long line to it.
Her eyes took her to the dance floor, locking on a couple dancing close together, she thought back to they went to Hyrieus.
*******
She danced like nobody was watching spinning around until she was dizzy. Stumbling into Logan. “Whoa. I got you. You dizzy?” She held onto logans strong shoulder “Yeah maybe a little.” she steadied herself noticing a guy checking Toby out. “Hey Toby, that guy over there is totally checking you out.” Toby sauntered over to dance with the stranger. Logan was talking to Ximena now,  Ellie's eyes locked on colts. She walked over grabbing his hand “Dance with me.” She pulled him to the dance floor. “I don't really dance.”
“Neither do I.” she pulled him father into the dance floor, away from the crew.
“I've been waiting to get you alone all day.” He pulled her closer, tilting her face up with one finger. “Is that so? I'm starting to think you like me.”
“I don't like anybody.” He smirked looking in her eyes as his fingertips lightly gripped her hips. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him in closer.  Their lips inches from each others. “Is Logan watching?”
“Why, do you not want him to see us together?”
“Would it be wrong if I kind of wish he could?” Ellie eyed him “I'm not some shiny object for you two to fight over. I'm just a person.” He stared deep into her brown eyes. “Oh Ellie, you're so much more than that.”
She grinded against him keeping with the beat of the music. “I thought you couldn't dance.”
“i'm just doing what feels good.” she batted her lashes. “Well keep doing what feels good.”
She gripped his hair, pulling his face down to hers. Lips crashing against each other with need. Everything else slipped away, it was as if nobody else was there, just the two of them. They pulled apart breathlessly his lips grazing her ear. “You're my driver forever, you know that right?”
“Promise?”
***********
She was pulled from her thoughts by the woman behind her, tapping her on the shoulder letting her know it was her turn. She left the bathroom, making her way past the vip section again.  She was almost at the bar when she swore she heard someone calling her name, she could barely hear of the loud thumping of the base. Until she felt a tap on her shoulder. “Ellie?” She turned quickly, her heart pounding at the sight in front of her. She swallowed hard “Logan?”
He smiled back at her “Hi troublemaker.”
