Probably isn't what you expected (also sorry for responding so late lol)
But anyways lol there's two ways this could go
I think she'd either have PCOS and keep the beard. Or she'd have transfem butch swag. Beard could be a safety thing (passing as a man) or maybe she doesn't shave it off because she feels it doesn't take away from her identity so she keeps it. Maybe a bit of both.
Anyway, Butch Kieran Duffy be upon ye

Elliott Falling in Love with the Farmer Headcanons
Hi! I saw a post similar to this about Harvey and I thought it was really cute, so I decided to make my own. For all the Elliott stans out there.
Tumblr media
He's one of the first to welcome you to the town. He's only moved there a year ago, so he knows how it feels to be a newbie in an already well-connected town. It's short and polite, but he gives you some good tips on where you might find some people you haven't met yet.
He realises he's in love when he finds himself referencing you for ideas for his books. Usually, his ideas come from his mind or events of his past, not those around him - or not the extent it's happening with you.
At first, he's a bit panicky. I mean, it's a lot to have a crush on someone, let alone be in love with them. He gets over it after a while though. It's not the end of the world, and it just proves what a wonderful relationship you guys have.
You find gifts at your door a lot. It's usually pretty shells or a few flowers, so it's pretty obvious who it came from. Sometimes, though, you'll find something like a bracelet or some crab cakes. They usually come with a letter using such fancy calligraphy you can barely read it.
"Hello y/n. I hope you find this letter in good health. I found this on the beach; isn't it pretty? Do come visit sometime."
This man tries to hide his feelings, but in a way that makes them obvious. He denies any feelings he has for you, but them bombardes your mailbox with basically love letters telling you how pretty you are, how well you take care of the farm, how good of a friend you are, etc. He tries to cover it up by sending these same sorts of letters to his friends, but that only makes it more obvious to them. Leah starts sending these letters back mocking him.
You're everywhere. Poor man can't get enough of you. You find yourself as characters in his drafts, and he has an entire book dedicated to how much he loves you hidden under his bed.
He flaunts a lot more. He wants your attention, so he's going to try and get it as best he can. The amount of time put into his hair is doubled, so much he barely looks like the same person. You get sent snippets of his drafts almost every week with a letter asking what you think of it. Of course, you're nice in your response which only drives him to do it even more.
No matter how dense the farmer is, it becomes pretty damn obvious in the end, if it wasn't already. You're getting romantic boat rides, love letters and poems, special thanks in his books, longing stares wherever you are - surely you have to take notice, right? Even if somehow, you don't realise, everyone else has and will and is telling you at every moment, Leah especially. She's nudging you all the time and pointing to a lovestruck Elliott so deep in his daydreams he doesn't notice you staring at him.
-~-~- And done! I hope you enjoyed this, I put a lot of thought into it. It's a little short; I don't know all too much about Elliott. Either way, I like how it turned out and I hope you do too. :)

Here’s something cute. How about a short Goblin (S/O) but their like a knight and he’s very respectful headcannons?
Sure thing anon! Sorry for this taking FOREVER but I ended up falling in love with this character. If anyone else wants more of this goblin knight, lemme know 👀
Knight! Goblin S/O SFW headcanons
Took a looong time for him to call you by your first name and not use any kind of honorific. Even now, calling you so informally makes him blush and stutter
For a similar reason he's not a fan of PDA; It isn't proper! But when you're in private prepare for some heart felt, courtly love kind of sweet talk
"You looked radiant today, my moon. I could not keep my eyes off you for even a second, and only the thought of being with you now kept me sane."
He will also kiss your hand, as it's one of the few affections he deems fit for society. He wishes to honor you in every moment, so he almost always greets you with a kiss on your knuckles and then a kiss on the cheek.
(He’s not a very jealous person, but you do notice how these kisses linger when someone has been making eyes at you. It’s his subtle way of saying “Excuse me, this is my beloved.”)
Gets very flustered when his affection is returned, no matter how long you’ve been dating
Even a kiss on the cheek makes his face go bright with a blush, his tail wagging furiously back and forth
He's used to be underestimated as a fighter, but he's confident enough in his own abilities to not let it bother him. The only thing that REALLY pisses him off is when they question his ability to protect you and the people he loves; Now that will get him to demonstrate his skills
It mostly goes like this: Some asshole, not even pretending to whisper, going on about what you’re doing with a knight like that, how he probably can’t even lift his own sword. In 10 seconds the guy’s knees have been kicked in and he lies flat on his back, a dagger to his throat
“Now I’d rather not end this night with blood on my clothes, so I think an apology is in order. Or would you rather we settle this like knights and duel?”
Writes the most gorgeous, leg trembling letters to you when he’s called away on duty. It’s mostly describing how much he misses your voice and your stunning visage.
(But sometimes, after a heated battle, he lets out how badly he wishes to hold you again, to kiss you, to touch you. It’s not super sensual, but according to his standards it’s downright erotic)
His favorite thing to do when he gets back is have dinner by the fireplace. Something about the simple pleasures of home really warm his heart after spending weeks in a muddy battle camp
Despite his lack of PDA, he is a huge cuddler. When you’re both in the safety of bed, he adores nothing more than to snuggle his face in your neck and embrace you around the waist, often wrapping his tail around your thigh just for the extra contact.
Also loves having his hair played with, especially after a good meal or writing before you go to bed. He will purr and he is not even ashamed of that fact
He enjoys his position and the rush of a good fight, but his larger dream is settling down to become a gardener. Just owning a small homestead with you, enjoying the privacy and love ❤️

can I ask whole alphabet with lillia vanrouge? Maybe imposter au?
Warning: Yandere thing. Gender-neutral reader.
Characters: Lilia Vanrouge.
Note: By imposter au, I'm going to assume you mean they have sentience. So the imposter au but without the imposter part. I've kind of been trying to keep it so that there would be no difference, no matter the au. It's a little difficult, but I'm managing.
Letters: A - Z
Tumblr media
✂ Affection. How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
     ✄ When you asked the universe for someone who would love you, you didn’t expect the universe to toss you a short enigmatic being that’s thousands of years old and may or may not have committed war crimes, someone who dresses like an edgy teenager and has the same interests as one, who also recently decided to try and blend in with young mages at a school. And yet here you are, now trapped with this crazy(?) old bat.
     ✄ Lilia is a naturally caring figure. After all, he has cared for several people in his lengthy lifetime. This ancient fae is one of the most open with his feelings and plentiful in his affection. He just thinks you're simply to die for! You’re so endearing and adorable that he constantly finds himself cooing over you. Kisses, hugs, and other gestures of affection are fairly common. He enjoys surprising you this way. Pressing a big kiss against your cheek suddenly so your face heats up in embarrassment, surprising you with a hug as he appears seemingly out of nowhere, a fleeting whisper and giggle by your ear when he’s no where in sight. He loves to take in all your expressions and reactions, and besides he can’t help but tease you a teensy bit.
     ✄ He doesn’t get worried much, but he does concern himself with your needs and wants. Although he isn’t tripping over himself to follow out your every will, he does quickly and efficiently complete your requests. He’s not desperate, particularly violent, or rash, but he’s obsessive and a little delusional. Perhaps that’s the worst part. He isn’t tiring himself out just to see you smile, he doesn’t lash out, but he’s just utterly fascinated by you. He truly believes he’s doing what’s best for you. Words can’t describe his strange form of love directed at you. He’s an enigma. Sometimes it’s impossible to tell what he’s thinking or feeling. He doesn’t ever become cross at you, he treats you almost like a child that can do no wrong. But maybe that’s precisely what you are in his twisted vision. A precious youngster he must care for, whether you want his love or not.
✂ Blood. How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
     ✄ Extremely. Let’s not forget that despite his youthful appearance, this is an ancient fae we’re talking about. He’s witnessed countless deaths, catastrophes, and wars, his hands are stained and would be overflowing with enough red to drown him. He’s a decorated veteran who's fought in many battles. Lilia can go from taking on and easily defeating a group of attackers, and in just ten seconds he’s back by your side to force convince you to lay your head on his lap and rest.
     ✄ However, he won’t kill just to kill. He’s both strong and intelligent, so he can easily ward off any enemies with words alone. Besides, he doesn’t actually want to end a life if he doesn’t have to. He can very easily kill any troublesome people that try to interfere in affairs solely between you and him, but death isn’t needed. It’s more of a last resort, which is never needed since Lilia always gets rid of the problem one way or another. Instead, he’ll usually resort to warnings that sound vaguely threatening. Lilia will casually bring something up, a weakness of his enemy, when warning them. Something like: It would truly be a shame if your signifiant other were to discover you went missing. Believe me, I know, the thought of losing an irreplaceable loved one is simply unbearable. I’m sure you wouldn't put your own beloved in such a situation, would you~?
✂ Cruelty. How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
     ✄ There’s a 50/50 chance that you would be kidnapped, and it’s a thing that happens on a whim. If you are abducted, well, now that your officially under his care (he was determined to make this happen, preferably when you agreed to the idea), you’ll be treated like a princess/prince. You didn’t even know it was possible for him to become more affectionate and teasing. Lilia has raised and watched his own fair share of youths, so no matter how you behave, he’s prepared. He won’t ever mock you. There’s no need to feel ashamed or frightened, this is for your own good, you know.
     ✄ Don’t be so sad, he’ll wipe your tears away as he comforts you in your sorrow. Is this truly so bad? You’re not alone, you now have him. You also have the others he raised, Malleus, Silver, and Sebek, to keep you company and protect you whenever he’s away. This is your home now, and he’ll be your family.
✂ Darling. Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
This one isn’t really that big of a deal. Having Lilia around is every so slightly vexing. He tends to mess around with you a lot. It’s never enough to the point of frustrating you or making you angry, but it is tiring and even a bit annoying. It seems that he’s always trying to catch your attention in the oddest of ways, it’s practically become a game for him at this point. Even if you try so hard to ignore him, you simply can’t. He won’t let you. He just wants to bask in your attention, so why not get it with a little fun? You can’t ignore him when he appears out of nowhere, right in front of you of all places. His big deep red eyes gazing up at you with an eager twinkle in them, and since he’s so close you can’t help but notice the little fangs on his smug grin.
✂ Exposed. How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
     ✄ Sometimes, there will be moments where you think you figured this fae out. You may try to predict his behavior, words, or actions, only for him to do something completely unexpected. It’s like he knows, he knows that you’re trying to piece him together but he doesn’t let you, only making it harder for you to figure him out. At times you truly do believe you understand him, especially when he’s been particularly soft, like when he’s fixing your hair or humming to you. He’s genuine, he makes himself vulnerable for you but it’s as if he goes back to this unpredictable mystery as soon as you decide to end the moment. Just how much is genuine? Does he even bare his heart to you? These are all questions you’ve yet to get an answer to.
✂ Fight. How would they feel if their darling fought back?
     ✄ Entertained, actually. When you try to fight back, argue, or do anything of the sort, he listens attentively with this smile on his face that almost feels mocking. It becomes clear that he’s hanging onto your every word, carefully watching your every move. It’s as if he’s listening to a child throw a tantrum, a kid crying over spilt milk. Still, he waits patiently until you’ve finished and he applauds your efforts! It’s humiliating, it makes you feel as if you were truly nothing by a baby whining, but these are important matters! This was your freedom you were talking about! He’ll then pat your head and smile as he asks: My my, you certainly had a lot to say and a lot of feelings bottled up, dear. Did you get everything off your chest? Was it fun? Are you calm now? There’s truly no winning this.
✂ Game. Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
     ✄ Oh, no, no, of course it’s not a game...! Initially, at least. Well, it can become a game with enough provocation and insisting on leaving. Really, he tries so hard to make it comfortable for you here, he was beginning to believe that perhaps you were starting to settle in nicely, only for that not to be the case. But if this is the way you want it to be, so be it. He’ll play along until you tire yourself out and willingly return to him. Lilia will allow you to make escape attempts, just to see how your mind works and where the flaws (that allow you to get closer to escaping) he must fix are. Then when you believe you’re so close to achieving freedom, he appears to return you home, squashing your hope. You may have thought you were close to winning, but Lilia was carefully monitoring you the entire time. So truthfully, you were never once close to the freedom you desired.
✂ Hell. What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
     ✄ Lilia treats you gently and he cares for you greatly, even if he is bothersome at times, he always means well. It seems like he’s never ever angry, not even when you act up against him. But he is to be feared, even though you know in your mind that he would rather stab himself than actually physically hurt you. But let’s remember, you are his dearest, no one else. Perhaps your worst experience with him, failed escape attempts and irksome teasing aside, was catching a glimpse of the violence he was capable. Again, he would never even think of lifting a blade or casting a spell against you! But others? If he must, they will not be spared.
     ✄ Lilia had left you in the care of Sebek and Silver while Malleus kept you company. Silver was relatively understanding and easy to sneak away from given his habit of sleeping, plus he tended to trust you a bit more. Sebek was harder to shake off, but when Malleus had taken his leave for a moment, Sebek was determined to follow. You knew by now that escape was useless, especially since Lilia would be back any moment now. However, there was something you wanted to see. Both Lilia and Malleus had warned you to not check the orb today, a magical crystal ball the ancient fae had gifted you so you could see him whenever you missed him (like that would happen). But for the first time, you were tempted to use it to satisfy your curiosity. Now that Silver was peacefully dozing off, and Sebek with Malleus were out of the room, it was the perfect opportunity to check the crystal ball. Carefully approaching it, you stared at your reflection before murmuring, show me Lilia. And just like that, you saw him in the orb. All you saw was red on his fists as he stood over the figure of a stranger that lay still in an unnatural position, before a hand from behind you quickly enveloped the orb, blocking you from seeing the rest. It caused you to jump, the sight you saw for a split second making you feel dread. The hand had belonged to Malleus, and he merely gazed down at you while speaking, “Understand that a being like him who’s lived for many millennia and has done many deeds in his lifetime, will have enemies. Enemies that will find out about you and kill you if given the chance, as you are his weakness and you cannot defend yourself. So for your own sake and his, listen the next time he instructs you to do something.”
✂ Ideals. What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
     ✄ A peaceful simple kind of life is all he wants. In his eyes, it will be short due to the fact that you're human and he’s fae, he knows that, and it kills him. But he tries to live in the moment, the way he’s always lived. So he doesn’t think too much of the future. Although nothing would make him happier than seeing you learn to accept him with all his strangeness and begin to get along with those he had a hand in raising. If you could get along with his son Silver, learn to tolerate Sebek with that prideful nature of his, and even become friends with prince Malleus, then he would be satisfied.
     ✄ After that...? He’s not sure what he’ll do after. He doesn’t even want to think about it. He doesn’t want to force tortuous forbidden spells on you that would destroy your humanity in exchange to let you live longer, but at the same time he hates the thought of a world without you. There are legends and stories of reincarnation... perhaps he’d dedicate all his time and effort into finding you again.
✂ Jealousy. Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
     ✄ No, actually, which may not be that surprising. In fact, you’ve never seen the ancient fae get jealous before. Lilia is confident in himself. He’s also a bit showy, so even in the public eye, he won’t hesitate to nestle into your side and have your arm around his shoulder or float behind you with his arms wrapped around your neck like a scarf as he nearly hangs off you. It’s clear that he’s trying to signal that he’s yours and vice versa, and it’s especially obvious judging by his self-satisfied grin.
✂ Kisses. How do they act around or with their darling?
     ✄ Playful and doting. When you are present, his toothy smile will be constant and he becomes a bit more mischievous. He’ll keep up appearances in public... sort of. Not really though, unless you insist. But it incredibly obvious that he’s involved with you, as if the close lingering touches and the innocent batting of his eyelashes he gives you aren’t signs enough. In private, it’s as if his affection increases even more. He’ll urge you to sit on his lap as he games on his pc; when he has his face against the crook of your neck and you least expect it, he’ll blow raspberries just to startle you or make you laugh; or in more peaceful times he’ll simply hold you in his arms as he talks about anything and everything.
✂ Love letters. How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
     ✄ Honestly, you probably should have seen this coming from a mile away, before the romantic gestures there were pink/red flags. After all, sometimes this fae has no filter, he just speaks his mind. There was always something he’d say that was off, too many compliments, but you simply brushed them off as him being kind. That is until the letters began arriving. See, Lilia is old, and he’ll admit that he greatly prefers courting through the traditional manner. Actually, it helps him gain your attention, because who doesn’t appreciate bouquets of flowers, long letters sealed with sweet smelling wax, and his attempts at serenading you by screeching singing a song he practiced in his club? It’s probably safe to say that you were intrigued by his attempts, and perhaps even interested in reciprocating. You needn’t know about the darker details of his growing obsession with you. This is all going so well! This is where the 50/50 chance of kidnapping you or maintaining a seemingly normal (as normal as it is to date an ancient being) relationship comes into play.
✂ Mask. Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
     ✄ No, actually. The Lilia everyone else knows is the same Lilia you know, except you see him as far more affectionate. He has nothing to hide. At least, that’s what he says, but he’s still a mystery to you and most everyone else. Anyways, the only time he may act different, is if someone is a real threat to you. This can’t just be anyone, it takes someone powerful for him to take on this frightening persona, and you won’t see how quickly he goes from cooing over you to plotting this enemy’s death and where to hide the body.
✂ Naughty. How would they punish their darling?
     ✄ Punish you? No, no, no! Come now, he wouldn’t to that.
✂ Oppression. How many rights would they take away from their darling?
     ✄ He wouldn’t. I mean, he could, he most certainly could limit your freedom, but he wants to give you the benefit of the doubt. Besides, it’s not like you can get very far anyways, whether he be there or it be the others. Please, believe him, he truly only wants the best for you. He doesn’t want to upset you, so he won’t risk it by taking away your rights. He’s seen how people have withered without certain rights and freedoms, and he doesn’t want that for you. The most he’ll do as punishment, is lecture you.
✂ Patience. How patient are they with their darling?
     ✄ Very. Extremely. His level of patience must be as long as his life, it’s astounding. No matter what you do or what you say, he won’t ever snap. In fact, he only continues to smile at your pathetic efforts, which makes you begin to lose your temper. There is nothing you can do that will cause his patience to dwindle. You aren’t sure if he has the patience of a saint or if he’s just keeping face so you won’t win, but you’re starting to think that the answers leans more towards the former. It seems that he almost knows what you’re thinking when you wonder if it’s a calm facade of some sort, and his content little smile turns to somewhat taunting. As if daring you to try and get him to crack. It felt as if his eyes were telling you: Go ahead, tire yourself out, it’ll be cute to see you try~
✂ Quit. If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
     ✄ Escape? Not happening. Leaving? He won’t let you. But death? Death is practically certain. It’s almost guaranteed that Lilia will outlive you. He’ll mourn like anyone else would, but then he’ll quickly wipe his tears and get to work. What’s he doing? Why, trying to find you again, of course! He never particularly believed in or paid attention to the stories of reincarnation in the past, but now he’s researching endlessly. To him it doesn’t feel like you’re truly gone, it just feels like you’re on a lengthy vacation and he’ll see you again soon. The thought of reuniting again fills him with such joy, it makes his heart throb just like it used to when you began exchanging love letters. The reminder that perhaps you’re out there somewhere again, is enough to keep him going until he finds you.
✂ Regret. Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
     ✄ No, he feels no remorse. This was for the best, it was for you. It was necessary, for your wellbeing. Here with him you would be safe, you could be happy too. There is no letting go. He wishes to spend as much time as possible with you, he wants to treasure every single moment and create as many memories with you as humanely possible. Please, grant him this wish.
✂ Stigma. What brought about this side of them?
     ✄ Like previous times, I’ll answer this one the same. It depends on the au.
✂ Tears. How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
     ✄ Oh dear, oh dearest, oh darling, don’t cry! Lilia has this unexplainable ability to comfort and calm those around him, whenever he sets his mind to it. You’re no exception. He using his thumb to wipe away your salty tears, and he’s still smiling. It isn’t mocking, but rather, it’s a soft and gentle smile that soothes you. He slowly shakes his head at your state, speaking softly to you. He isn’t teasing you, or mocking you, but he’s genuinely comforting you with kind words of comfort. Using his magic, he got a box of tissues to float closer and a warm cup of your favorite beverage set itself in front of you. Come, tell him what’s caused your sadness. He’s a wise being, so he’ll come up with suitable solutions. There’s always the chance that he caused it, the stress of the sudden change may be too much. If it is, he won’t mind, he’ll simply have to try harder to make this place more homey for you. He’ll simply have to do everything in his power to make you happy here.
✂ Unique. Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
     ✄ Let’s see... Lilia gives you a lot of freedom, in fact, you have actually freedom. You’re simply being monitored wherever you go and whatever you do. Which is still surprising, considering that he may or may not have kidnapped you. For a yandere, it’s rare for them to be so lenient and forgiving. Especially considering that Lilia’s form of punishment is lecturing.
✂ Vice. What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
     ✄ Escape? Haha. Funny. Yeah, noooo. But, if you want something you can just ask. If you’d prefer the more roundabout way, you can simply leave little hints lying around. Lilia quickly pieces it together and he catches on swiftly, he’s amused and will give in to practically anything you ask for, except leaving, of course. But anything else? Consider it done and yours.
✂ Wit’s end. Would they ever hurt their darling?
     ✄ No. Never. As stated before, he’d rather hurt himself than ever hurt you. If he had to choose between causing you a bit of physical pain or give himself ten times that amount of pain you would’ve felt, he’d choose to brace the pain himself every single time.
✂ Xoanon. How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
     ✄ Lilia adores you. He reveres you like royalty, and you would know. After all, you know how the ancient fae is with the literal prince of the valley. Because Lilia is so well respected in the valley, he’s able to afford luxuries for you. You practically live in the palace, any silly or stupid demand will be carried out, and every day he will always remind you of the love he holds for you. Winning you over is important to him, but your safety and happiness are first and foremost. Once he’s sure you’re somewhere safe and you’re slowly adjusting to the environment, only then will he focus on winning you over.
✂ Yearn. How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
     ✄ Does not snap. However, the longest he’ll pine after you before resorting to traditional fae kidnapping, is one year at most. Why? Because as mentioned before, he wishes to spend as much time as possible with you. That’s why! Human lives are so short and fragile, so he has to make the most of it!
✂ Zenith. Would they ever break their darling?
     ✄ Can one be broken with love? Well, maybe, but Lilia won’t break you. He’s much too gentle and careful with you for that. Please, try to understand this fae. He truly loves you like he’s never loved anyone before. It’s an intense and overwhelming sort of love, something he’s never experienced before and he knows is not normal but he can’t resist. You make him happy, and he wants to make you happy. So won’t you learn to accept this old soul and his fantastical odd ways?

Genshin Character In A Relationship With You HC’s
Characters; Ayato, Diluc, Xiao, Ei, Ayaka, Scaramouche, Ningguang and Zhongli^-^
REQUESTS; OPEN!
Tumblr media
Ayato;
He would compliment you all the time, even when you look like you’ve crawled out of a dumpster, but you love him for that.
Ayato buys you a lot of gifts, it could be jewelry, a book, or something he made himself when he had the time to, and that makes your heart flutter every time.
He loves spending quality time with you. He might not have so much free time because of his work, but he tries to spend his time with you as much as he can, and that’s good enough for you.
Tumblr media
Diluc;
Diluc loves to walk with you, whether it be late at night or very early in the morning.
Very protective over you. He doesn’t want you to walk alone at night in case something happens, and if someone talks to you or touches you in a way that makes you uncomfortable, be ready for them to get a real beating.
Loves when you sit beside him when he does some paperwork.
Spoils you to the point where it’s literally too much.
Tumblr media
Xiao;
I expect him to be secretly watching you from a distance, not in a creepy way, but to make sure you’re safe.
Whenever you give him a kiss or hug him, he would kind of get tongue tied, and blush a lot.
Xiao would also get you small gifts which he places on your front door, it’s either flowers which he picked for you, or his favorite dish, or something else. There is always a note attached to the gift.
Tumblr media
Ei;
Just like Diluc, she loves to take walks with you. Her favorite place is through Inazuma City, trying new foods or just taking a stroll with you.
Would try to cook for you, but she always ends up failing and almost burning the whole kitchen down. You still appreciate it anyways.
She loves talking to you, Ei finds your voice very soothing. You two could talk about anything for hours without getting bored.
Tumblr media
Ayaka;
She would send little letters to you everyday, reminding you that she loves you so much.
Ayaka loves to hold your hand, no matter what you are doing she will hold it. She also becomes such a blushing mess when you kiss her, hiding behind her fan because of it.
She performs for you so much, that you know all of her dances by heart now, but you don’t care. You love watching her dance. The way she moves so elegantly really dazzles you.
Tumblr media
Scaramouche;
I feel like Scara would be kind of distant at the start of the relationship, like being very stiff when you hug him, not knowing what to do when you compliment him, that sort of stuff. He does warm up eventually though.
Would literally beat the shit out of anyone who disrespects you, like without a second thought, the person would be half-dead in two seconds.
Somewhat possessive, he doesn’t really get that jealous, because he trusts you enough, but sometimes he does get jealous to the point that he must drag you out of the conversation you were having.

I think people who pick one character from AsoIaF/GoT to be The Protagonist are missing the point, because pretty much all of the characters think THEY are The Protagonist™ and that’s ultimately what screws them over.
(I also want to preface this by saying that that’s the reason I find these characters so interesting, and that this is not meant to insult any of them. I LOVE this story, and this is one of the many reasons why.)
Cersei thinks she’s the Villain Protagonist™ of a gritty drama. Even if it doesn’t make sense for things to work out for her, she assumes they will, seeing everyone around her as faceless idiots serving her narrative. Anyone and everyone will betray her because that’s what always happens in stories like this, so she won’t give them a chance to ever get there. People will move the way she assumes they will; everyone is predictable and stupid and shallow and cowardly. And as such, no one possesses the necessary skills to take her down. If she’s more ruthless and ambitious and paranoid than everyone else, she’ll get what she wants. But that’s not how life actually works, so all she does is alienate those around her, even necessary allies. People aren’t always predictable, not all of them are compliant or subservient or easily-frightened or incompetent. And if you prioritize ruthlessness and distrust, the people who aren’t those things aren’t going to see any reason to keep you around or give you aid.
Jaime thinks he’s a Cynical Misunderstood Antihero. He doesn’t need to work on bettering himself or de-internalizing his violent impulses, because he’s not the problem, it’s society, it’s people’s incorrect assessment of him. Look, he made a friend in Brienne, that must mean he’s not all bad, right? He thinks this story ends in a Public Image Rehabilitation, but he still conflates love with violence, and he still has a fucked up relationship with consent, he’s arrogant to a fault, he still insults Brienne (and just about everyone else) when the opportunity presents itself, and he never bothers trying to change that. And it’s all of this that prevents him from every truly becoming a good person. He’s so mired in this idea of being misunderstood that he doesn’t make a concerted effort to prove that he actually is. People think he’s an oath-breaker, that he has too big of an ego, that he doesn’t care about the people he swore to protect, and he thinks that simply going, “Yeah, but they don’t have the whole picture” is enough in and of itself to prove them wrong because, in a lot of stories, it is. But all his behavior does is cement his reputation as these things.
Dany thinks she’s The Chosen One, which means whatever she does is automatically the right decision. People will accept her rule because it’s hers, she deserves it, it’s morally right. All of her enemies are blanketedly wrong on all accounts in all cases. Her goals supersede anyone else’s because those goals are the way to a Happy Ending, and she doesn’t consider that other people might not see it that way. Many people’s gripes with her stem from gross places like misogyny or wanting to continue keeping slaves, but she forgets to acknowledge that some people’s issues with her might actually be valid. And that The Chosen One is actually a terrifying idea to people outside that person’s immediate personal context. She has three sentient WMDs, essentially. And if she thinks that using them is always morally correct, that the fallout from doing so can’t possibly be a problem because she’s using them and it’s for a noble cause, you end up with what happened in Astapor; and you end up with Drogon killing a child in Mereen and, eventually, her demise at the end of the show.
Sansa starts out thinking she’s an Optimistic Child Hero in a fairytale. This leads to her being held captive at court (she trusted that the authority figures were benevolent), writing a letter to her family that almost comes back to bite her to a deadly degree once her sister finds out in the show (she thought she could solve everything herself via a peaceful resolution), and to her trusting a complete monster of a boy until it’s too late (she thought he was Prince Charming). She thinks that being the Soft, Beautiful Heroine means people will love her and everything will end nicely and neatly, but sometimes instead of “love”, people just take advantage of you. And sometimes their reaction to your beauty isn’t innocent appreciation-sometimes you end up with Littlefinger. (Or Tyrion or The Hound who...let’s just leave it at “they have their own issues,” especially book-wise.) This morphs into assuming that a fairytale-esque betrayal will befall her with every new person she meets. It’s why she defends Petyr after his murder of Lysa, and it’s why she doesn’t leave with Brienne; if she’s going to be betrayed anyway, she might as well at least stick with a villain she understands.
Ned thinks he’s the Noble Hero in a typical fantasy series. He doesn’t consider everyone else’s capacity for cruelty or the idea that honor alone might not be enough. Sometimes there are no perfect choices, sometimes mercy does not give you the end goal you envisioned, and sometimes you can try your best and that can all be undone by one impulsive, unforeseeable action. You can’t honor your way out of ruthless political conflict.
Robb thinks he’s a Romantic War Hero, and thus everything will magically work out for him. His ideals and his marriage will conquer everything. But he broke a marriage promise to a powerful family, and that has consequences. The world won’t bend to his will, not even if he is doing the right thing or has noble goals, not even if he’s had war success, not even if the people at home love him, not even if he’s in love (show) or doing the most honorable thing he can (books). He thinks that being the hero means he can make it through Westeros without having to play the game, and he gets murdered for it.
Theon thinks he’s an Underdog Outcast Hero. He’ll come up from behind with an unsuspecting War Victory, and that will earn him respect, the love of his family, and a legacy he can look back on with pride. And that mindset leads him to murder two children, to drive away any allies and good grace he had at Winterfell, and the reason that the War Victory he imagined was so unexpected is because it’s completely untenable. He gets more and more desperate and it’s increasingly harder and harder to hold onto the control he’s managed to obtain. He has reasons for wanting this that make sense, and he’s been dealt a pretty bad hand in life, and he thinks that’s and his determination to overcome his personal identity struggles is enough to not only justify his actions, but ensure that those actions will be successful. And then his plan blows up in his face, he assumes he’s been miraculously saved (probably still having something to do with seeing himself as The Unexpected Hero), and ends up at Ramsay’s mercy.
Arya thinks she’s a Badass Heroine in the making, a skilled swordslady and Rebellious Princess who’s destined for more than this stuffy life of politics and dresses and formalities. But rebelling isn’t always enough. It doesn’t help with the Mycah situation, and she still needs to rely on others’ help in getting out of the city after Ned is executed. When she does try to embrace the “fully self-sufficient sword lady” idea while with the Faceless Men in Braavos, she is told to functionally discard her identity completely. She does an unauthorized kill because she, not her assassin-persona-in-training, wants to (though the victim’s identity differs in books and show), which leads to her being temporarily blinded and prevented from going on assassination missions, and outright forced to beg for food in the show. In the show, after being reinstated as an apprentice, she is tasked with killing an innocent person, refuses (rebels), and realizes that this life is one she can’t handle. She goes home, and her heading straight for her sword is one of the things that almost completely ruins her relationship with Sansa. In the upcoming Winds of Winter release, her chapter excerpt has her prioritizing revenge over her apprentice duties, and she remarks that her new identity is ruined with this rebellious action. When you rebel, there are consequences-this doesn’t change just because your intentions are good or because you are or think you are important.
Jon thinks, similarly to Ned, that he’s The Good Guy, that doing the right thing, that following The Code is paramount. He thinks that, because he’s The Good Guy, that doing the right thing with the maximum amount of good for everyone will always be a workable option, and that the heroic option will always yield the best result. This is why he thinks proclaiming his love to Ygritte in the show will end well (because love is good and conquers everything) and is, instead, shot by her several times. It’s why he doesn’t foresee a mutiny in either medium, which leads to his (temporary) death. (Let’s be real, he’s getting resurrected in the books, too, this is the one thing I’m sure of.) Because yes, everything is tense and he’s on bad terms with the Watch, but surely they wouldn’t go that far. It’s rough going, and he has to juggle the needs of several widely different groups of people, but he’s doing the right thing and that will win out; his conviction will protect him, at least for the time being while he tries to manage the bigger threat of the White Walkers. The real fight is with them, the mysterious overarching enemy, not within his own ranks. This is a story where everyone puts aside their differences to fight a greater threat-except for the times when it isn’t.
Even Catelyn isn’t immune, as she assumes that Petyr, since he’s her childhood friend, is invested in solving the mystery of what happened to Bran when he tells her the dagger used in the attack was Tyrion’s. Lysa is her sister, she can’t possibly be suspicious. She thinks the Lannisters are evil, her instincts tell her that they were behind everything, she’s the Protective Mother Heroine, so she must be right. But although she is to a certain extent correct, that’s not the complete picture. And this slightly-misplaced confidence leads her to arrest Tyrion, the retaliation of which is Tywin siccing his forces on her homeland, one of the major first steps in the upcoming political war. Then, her continued focus on saving her children-something that must take precedence because they are her children, and this is her story-leads her to taking Walder Frey’s supposed offer of a fix-it solution for Robb breaking his marital pledge at face value, despite House Frey’s reputation, and despite this neat resolution seeming far too good to be true. She’s so focused on the Lannisters-the Obvious Endgame Enemy-that she doesn’t consider the possibility of betrayal from the Freys. She thinks that the world is giving her a break-because she is so desperately looking for one, because she deserves one, because her family deserves one, and those are reasons enough for her to have one-that she doesn’t even bother to re-evaluate the situation until it’s too late.
Melisandre thinks she’s a Religious Hero, but she ends up burning a child alive and alienating one of her few remaining allies in the process (and Davos was barely an ally to begin with). She thinks she’s Doing What Needs To Be Done to serve her savior, but it hurts Stannis more than it helps him, and he just ends up being murdered by Brienne. This is obviously in the show only (at least at this point), and I don’t know if Stannis is going to burn Shireen in the books or not. Stannis thinks he’s the Lawful Hero, and thus, because according to law he’s the Rightful Ruler, anything he does is automatically excusable; he’s just righting a wrong. And in the process, he imprisons his closest friend, has a hand in murdering his brother (when kinslaying is one of the most universally hated breaches of conduct in this fictional universe), allies with a dangerous woman that much of his own court despises, and, in the show, murders his only child and drives away most of the rest of his remaining team.
They all think that, since they are the main characters of their own stories, that they’re the main character of the larger, overarching narrative. That having understandable reasons or sympathetic qualities or even just having a clear goal that they desperately want, that’s enough to cement their importance. And they think that means that they’re justified in everything they do, that everything will work out for them, that the consequences will be lesser for them than for others, because that’s what it’s like to be the main character. The whole point is that there is not A Protagonist™ and that maybe we should examine why a story needs A Protagonist™ in the first place and what that narrative tradition tells us. When GRRM said he turned down adaptation offers because they only wanted to focus on Jon and Dany, this is why.
#asoiaf#got#asoiaf meta#got meta#most of this is directly related to everyone deconstructing the archetypes they would represent in other stories#so I'm not sure how much of this is just 'deconstructing tropes' and how much of it is 'Main Character Perception Syndrome'#also obviously this isn't every character I ran out of room and honestly some of them like davos and brienne and maybe even loras#probably don't think they're The Main Character which there's a whole other essay in there about how they're The Good People#I personally think Bran never gave off 'I think I'm the main character' energy but I know haters will disagree with me on that#like...Idk his sense of self-worth kind of went away and he spent a bunch of time trying to get it back and figure out how to get by#in a society that now thought he was worthless. and how to get enjoyment out of life when his goals were no longer reachable#it read less as 'I think I'm more Important™' and more 'I'm just trying to survive man' but also I love bran I might be a little biased lmao#cersei lannister#jaime lannister#dark!dany#sansa stark#arya stark#theon greyjoy#jon snow#catelyn stark#robb stark#ned stark#melisandre#stannis baratheon#I take my life into my own hands by putting actual names in the tags but I talk about these characters and I don't know how else to tag#this to ensure people who don't want to see it won't have to see it#also for anyone wondering where tyrion is on this list: I was too tired to delve into this phenomenon regarding him because it is ESPECIALLY#prominent regarding him. and this post was already so long and talking about tyrion in this context probably would've made it TWICE as long#there genuinely isn't enough space in here to include him but know that I'm counting him too. most definitely#behold! a creation!

Donnie wants to kill himself.
His brothers know he’s thought about it before. They are well aware. Leo had those thoughts as well, something Donnie had found reassuring. But with moving out , and therapy, Mikey, Raph, and Leo got better. They improved.
Donnie did not want to hold his brothers back. So when they curbed their worst habits, became happier, and healthier, Donnie did his best to do the same. He didn’t think it was very convincing, but it seemed good enough for his brothers.
(Maybe they didn’t care. Maybe they were willing to turn a blind eye so long as Donnie was no longer making it everyone’s problem.)
So Donnie fakes being happy. He pushes through exhaustion. He lies, and lies, and lies.
Until just being around his brothers is a chore. Until that desire to end his own life, becomes something heavier. Until Donnie is drowning.
Donnie wants to die, but he can’t bring himself to do anything about it. Everyday he wakes up, and this remains true. Donnie keeps making excuses not to act on this desire, keeps letting his cowardice win.
Donnie keeps doing this, and nothing changes. Until it does.
Something gives. The dam breaks. For the first time in a while, Donnie has something to look forward to.
He finishes his work, something for Big Mama. His brothers are not home. He is alone. He can’t help but be happy about this; he does not want to have to smile in the face of his death, as relieving as the thought of it might be. He does not want to feign softness as they pass his room, as he chokes on his own life.
Donnie wants to be selfish, this one, last time.
He writes some letters. His brothers are not home. He’s thought about what he was going to write for a while. A message for Mikey to take care of his plants, for Leo to make sure they’re supported, for Raph to deliver his final invention. For them to look out for each other. For them to find happiness.
He tells them he’s proud of them. He tells them he loves them.
It’s true. It is not totally honest, but he has not lied. He wants to leave them with these pretty words, flowery sentiments, rather than the ugly, mess of every emotion that’s driven him to this edge.
He feels like he could hack the words up, like poison, like some sick confession that would do nothing but hurt everyone involved.
He thinks he’d rather die avoiding such things. Bury that harshness with him.
Donnie writes the letters. And he thinks there is something to be said about what does not reach the pages. He does not say it’s not your fault. He does not say he’s happy for them.
The letters are light and conversational, a fragile illusion. He places them at his brothers’ bedsides.
Donnie mixes a potion. His brothers are not home.
Donnie smells the brew. It smells sweet, but he knows it will be tasteless. Almost perfect, if not for the syrupy consistency of the potion.
There are worse sensations to have to endure as you die, he thinks.
His brothers are not home when Donnie downs the glass. His brothers are not home when Donnie’s drifts to sleep. His brothers are not home when his heart slows and his organs fail.
Donnie stops breathing.
His brothers are not home.
Leo gets home first.
He does not go to his room, instead walking past Donnie’s room on the way to the kitchen. It is four pm and Leo does not want her brother to sleep the day away.
Leo sees Donnie sleeping at his desk, clearly having working himself to exhaustion as he tended to. Leo shakes him awake.
Donnie does not wake up.
Nothing wakes him up.
this is great cause i was JUST thinking about how much i love writing suicidal characters. i was literally just thinking "yeah i love this character... what if he was suicidal tho"
this is ALSO GREAT BECUASE. OAUGHASG.
Donnie writes the letters. And he thinks there is something to be said about what does not reach the pages. He does not say it’s not your fault. He does not say he’s happy for them.
THIS. THIS IS SO. THIS IS SO EVERYTHING. AGUAHGADSFSJHGAG. i love the thought put behind this sentiment, he doesn't wanna blame them or hurt them but he also can't.,,a,fauhga,fsdfaguhagsdfag.

MURDER HUSBANDS | Wind them up and watch them go (love letter to NBC’s Hannibal)
♫ To the tune of Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead (with overture by Bruno Battisti D’Amario) ♫
Wow
So I feel like I say this every time. But Mary mother of god, this was a behemoth. By a mile the hardest vid I’ve ever made joke’s on me bc I’m the fucking crackerjack who decided to tack on an whole ass other song as an overture bc why in the name of all cocks would I decide to make anything easy like it’s funny bc I always have an impression of how easy a vid is going to come together when I get the idea, right. And this duo with this song just pbj. So ngl I thought the shit was gonna edit itself. But guess what yall? Radiohead like … makes some intricate, complex-sounding shit stunning revelation, almost as if that’s what they’re fuckinfjsbs known for
HOWMEVER, the day has come, it’s arrived and I’ve looked at this thing for so long now, I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, cannot tell if it’s good anymore. My last vid, I took a long break so by the end, I had enough time away from it to remember it was at least good. This? This could be visual gobbledygook, mush for your eyes, the equivalent of that shit brown shade you get when you mix too many water colors together.
But likehopefully it’s not and you can pls enjoy this love letter to one of the greatestqueer romances in modern media, which is a bold statement whatever fight me but I can’t think of a queer ship before this in tv/movies where the romance unfolds like any other hetero relationship and queer identity isn’t the focus, which even though I think is important, lbr there’s more to gays than being gay. Like it’s kinda visionary, despite the fact that neither character is explicitly queer, when it becomes clear that they’re in love with each other, no one, in-universe, is pearl-clutching all: EGAD! But Will’s never been with 😱a man😱 before?? How in THE DICKENS could he be in love with Hannibal when I don’t have definitive proof he’s even touched tips with another man let alone been balls deep!!!!!!!! How dare he not have this big, gay awakening for us all to gawk at applaud for!!!!” ?
No, literally every character: Jack, Alana, Bedelia, Margot, Mason, even Will’s wife god bless I cannot remember her name but she deserved better *shakes fist at Will* etc., all acknowledge the transcendent romantic bond btwn them and no one questions it. Well, no one questions it thru the lens of performed queerness. Tbf ppl had a lotta questions about the like probable impending multiple murders which validsisjwh
These are just 2 ppl who’re in love with each other to the point of being uncontrollably homicidal Which like … goals? Like I’ve really wracked my brain and can’t think of another queership that unfolds like every other hetero ass love story. That is to say, where fluidity is more the default, at least to the extent that no one talks about the orientation of either players within the show’s universe. Regardless of whether Bryan Fuller intended that from the start which tbh I don’t think he did but I also don’t think it’s fair to call it queerbaiting. I think he let the story unfold and realized kinda with the rest of us that this was a magical!realism romance and not a crime procedural and by S3 leaned tf into it doesn’t really matter bc the universe in which these two exist to truss each other up like Christmas turkeys aka foreplay symbolizes so much more to me than whatever it was initially invented to be. And if it’s not art, folks, idk what is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ofc I mean the show is art, not the vid. Vid=potential gobbledygook

~~~
Letting out an exhausted sigh, Lloyd wiped the sweat from his brow, stretching to get rid of the dull ache that had built up in his back over his hours of labouring in the smithy. Scrutinizing the newly forged dagger that lay on the anvil, the metal still glowing red from the heat of the forge, he nodded in satisfaction. The runes he had painstakingly carved into its blade until his fingers had hurt from how tightly he’d been gripping the carving knife snaked gracefully across the metal, gently glowing as it absorbed the ambient mana from the air.
It looked perfect, ready for -
A set of steady knocks echoed from the direction of the door, a soft voice calling out. "Uncle Lloyd?"
Speak of the devil.
A girl with a small smile on her face greeted him on the other side of the door, her hands clasped before her. The tight knot of worry in his chest that had been tied the moment he'd seen her off at the Iselian gate finally dissolved, leaving him to breathe a sigh of relief at the sight of Marianne without a scratch on her.
"Back from Palmacosta already, Mari?" he asked, ushering her in and shutting the door behind her. "I'd almost forgotten what you looked like!"
"I've only been away for a month, Uncle," she mumbled, taking careful steps across the wooden floor, her gaze wandering across the interior that she hadn’t laid eyes on in quite a while, but could probably still navigate with her eyes closed. Spotting the fresh dagger, the green eyes she'd inherited from her father widened, and she rushed over with stars practically twinkling in her eyes.
"It's for you," he confirmed, though it had likely been obvious from the beginning. Barrelling into him with enough force to knock some of the air out of his lungs, she thanked him profusely, her tiny smile melting into a real grin.
She was no longer the young child that had been light enough for him to pick up and swing in the air until she was shrieking with giggles. The years had gone by, his back had begun protesting, and she’d shot upwards in height, becoming more and more like her mother - packing away her emotions and sewing up the gap that contained them as she showed others only what they wished to see. Still, he was glad to be able to pull a real smile out of her.
Leading her to the kitchen table, he went to the pantry to get some sandwiches - slathered with fruit jam, just the way she liked it. He'd been making them every day for the past week, anticipating her return to Iselia; feeding them to Noishe when no one came calling. If Noishe saw another of these sandwiches, Lloyd suspected that he would get a faceful of angry dog.
"How's your father?" Marianne asked as she delicately nibbled on the corner of a sandwich. "Your last letter mentioned he’d caught something…?”
"Oh, it was just a cold that was running through the village. Dad's sleeping off the last of it upstairs," he answered, taking a seat himself. "What about your grandparents?"
"They'll be fine. It was nothing too serious, in the end, just seemed that way.” Face brightening, she placed her sandwich back in the centre of her plate. “You know, I ran into Uncle Genis at Palmacosta last week? He’s helping with classes at the Academy again!"
"Let me guess, he tried to get you to study?"
The scene was easy to imagine. Genis, bearing a serious expression as he stacked book after book in front of her for her “required reading”, ensuring she absorbed all of it until the light of dusk painted the classroom in warm orange strokes.
And when she had finished it all, he'd let her dictate what they did after, doing his very best to put a wide smile on her face.
Lloyd chuckled at the scowl that stretched across Mari’s face. "It was so boring. It's not my fault I'm no good at anything to do with magic! I'm better with my dagger anyway. All thanks to you, Uncle!"
"Well, glad I could help." A smile played on his lips as he watched her pout, her posture no longer the ramrod straightness it had been when she'd walked in. Still, she held herself with a grace that she couldn't shake after years of enforced practice. She was the very picture of her mother, down to the golden hair spilling down her back, even if she had inherited none of her clumsiness.
As he had with her mother, he refused to let her feel like she was alone. No child deserved that, regardless of the role they were supposed to play and what the Church felt about the matter. Even if they felt as if they dictated her every action - what she wore, what she said, the company she kept - they did not dictate his.
"And you know, my offer still -"
"No, Uncle," she shot down firmly, expression smoothing into neutral emptiness as she shook her head. "I'm sorry, but my choice hasn't changed. I don't want you to accompany me on the Journey of Regeneration."
Falling silent, he wondered if he was imagining the shadows lurking in her gaze, too dark for someone so incredibly young.
"The village needs you, you know! You're the best swordsman here. You'll have to protect this place when… After I’ve left for the Journey." She picked up her sandwich once more with stiff motions, gaze trained on the wooden surface of the table like it was the most interesting thing in the world. "Can we talk about something else now?"
Steering the conversation away from their current topic was an easy enough task. There was much to discuss - all that she had done in her month in Palmacosta, and every event that had disrupted the sleepy routine of Iselia.
It was natural that she wouldn't want a reminder of the pressure that sat square on her shoulders, forcing her to be the symbol of hope for every person in this slowly dying world. It was enough that most people would only ever see her as her title - he wouldn't add to that weight. Here, she could excitedly talk about any topic under the sun while kicking her feet under the table. That was how it had always been, and how it always would be. Here, she could just be a child without a care in the world.
Swallowing the thought that he was missing something, he let the conversation wash over him - ranging from the many dogs she had accompanied her mother around Palmacosta to name, to some of the more out-there blacksmithing requests he’d gotten from the people of Iselia.
"Thanks for the sandwiches!" Marianne beamed.
Blinking, he glanced out the window and realised the sun was beginning to set, the sky composed of messy dashes of red and pink. Had it really been that long? Pushing himself to his feet, he began to clean up the table, sweeping up the plates with breadcrumbs scattered across them.
"Could you accompany me back to the village, Uncle?"
He froze on his way to the sink, slowly turning to face her. "I wouldn't want to intrude."
Her green eyes were fixed on him, subjecting him to the same searching stare her mother had used to give him. She could not possibly have known anything, for neither he nor Colette had ever breathed a word after her wedding, and yet...
"Father stayed behind in Palmacosta to be with grandmother and grandfather for a while longer, so it's just me and mother. Besides, I've missed you! It's been a month. Come over, and we can have dinner together."
"I... Alright," he agreed, swallowing to clear his suddenly incredibly dry throat. Gingerly placing the plates into the sink, he cursed the shaking of his hands, letting them curl around the amateur medallion that still sat over his heart.
He had not taken it off in the close to two decades that had passed.
"Come on then," he sighed.
~~~
The guards nodded politely when they entered, the villagers they passed waving hello to them. The villagers, as a whole, had gotten a lot friendlier once he'd taken over from Dad as Iselia's blacksmith, and even more so once he'd started training the town's guard. Somewhere along the way, he'd become just another familiar face, despite being shunned as a child for his origins.
Marianne's expression had shuttered along the path through the forest, her steps growing stiffer until she was walking in the graceful manner that befitted a Chosen.
The sight made sorrow flood his heart, remembering the days when she would grab his hand and swing his arm with wild abandon as she ran through the village, a toothy smile lighting up her face. Her head had barely reached his thigh back then. He said nothing, however, knowing he couldn’t change her mind.
"Mari! Just who I wanted to see!" One of the other girls from the village called out, beaming as she slowly divided her red hair into bunches, painstakingly threading them into braids. "Won't you come over and help?"
"Oh, it's Amber! Uh, see you, Uncle!" Marianne hurriedly whispered, a touch of red colouring her cheeks as she broke away, life flowing back into her steps.
He couldn’t help the amused chuckle that slipped from him as he continued alone, steps faltering as he spotted the familiar porch he had spent many an afternoon pacing back and forth on, waiting for Colette’s cheerful voice to reach his ears.
"Lloyd?"
And then he was meeting those familiar blue eyes, still capable of taking his breath away. Sometimes, he still felt like that naive teenager, watching her under the starry night sky and realising for the first time just how beautiful she was.
He greeted her with a nod, words still escaping him as he carefully began to construct walls around his fragile heart.
Every time he met her, he could see every version of her he had known. The cheerful child who had approached him with no fear, the girl wrapped in melancholy who had kissed him with tears on her face, and the woman who had faced her preordained fate with her head held high.
And now, the mother, seated on the porch and enjoying the wind on her skin. Happy, he hoped, for that was all he had ever wished for her.
Colette levelled him with the same piercing stare her daughter had subjected him to less than an hour ago. "It’s no use lingering out here. Come in," she said, slipping into the house like a silent ghost.
He'd seen her, plenty of times over the years. They were still friends, after all, and they met up with Genis to catch up all the time. Not as much now, given that both Genis and Raine had left Iselia. Raine to perform archaeological research all around the world, and Genis to wander from place to place, occasionally returning to the Palmacosta Academy to help out. Perhaps time had inevitably caused them all to drift apart somewhat, but they still found opportunities to steal little moments together.
But he could count the number of times he’d been truly alone with her on his fingers alone. He’d avoided such occurrences, trying to forget the pain of a heart that had never healed, and not wanting to make things any harder than they already were. He had never wanted to hurt her at all, but he had inevitably done so - simply because he had committed the sin of having held her hand, dreaming of a life that they could spend together.
Yet still he wished to see her, with all of his heart - wanting to hear the sound of her laughter, see her bright smile, feel the brush of her hair against his arm.
He was still chasing it, that summer day when he fell in love with her, even if it had long drifted out of his reach - a shimmering facade that continued to taunt him.
Following Colette into the kitchen, he automatically began to help her out with dinner, the two of them settling into the same easy rhythm they had always shared, without a need for words. It was a wonder it hadn’t been lost over the years, but it lived on, ingrained deep in both their hearts.
“How was Palmacosta?” he asked, breaking the silence for the first time as he collected a few dishes to take to the dining table.
“Loud,” she replied mirthfully. “Lots of dogs, though.”
“Same old, then,” he mumbled. It had been a few years since he’d needed to travel so far to deliver the finished product for a custom request, but it seemed the bustling town hadn’t changed much.
“I’m sure Mari already told you, but we ran into Genis. It was nice seeing him again,” she said, helping to carry out the rest of the dishes as they both got seated, waiting for Marianne to return from whatever corner of the village she’d wandered off to. “It really has been a long time since we’ve heard from him.”
“Close to a year and a half. I do hope he visits Iselia soon or sends a letter, or the next time we all get together, I’m letting Raine do the cooking.”
The bright laugh that left her at his words made him smile, even as he refused to let the flimsy walls surrounding his heart drop. It was so easy to forget, sometimes, that anything had changed, but he would not let himself fall into an illusion that could not last, that would only shatter into shards with wickedly sharp edges that could easily slice his heart into ribbons once again. It would not be fair to her.
Her blue eyes, alight with amusement, met his gaze for a moment, before sliding away when the sound of muffled voices filtered through the open doorway.
He could see Marianne, lightly blushing as she conversed with the same girl from before on the porch, their fingers threaded together. Saying goodbye, if he had to guess. He was also witness to the moment a wave of sadness swept over her as she reluctantly pulled her hand away, her expression downcast.
Colette’s bottom lip wobbled, and he reached out on instinct. Curling his fingers to dig his nails into his palms, he set his clenched hands back into his lap.
She always did that when she was upset. She would take a deep breath and push it all down, refusing to let any of it out. And once, he would have held her close as she let her face crumple into tears, hidden in his chest as he rubbed circles into her back.
His heart twisted now, watching her, but he had lost the privilege to comfort her long ago.
Perhaps it would have been easier if he could simply lock away this beating heart of his, if he could learn how to stop loving her. If laying eyes on her and hearing her voice did not leave him aching to reach out to her, a knife slowly twisting its way deeper into his vulnerable flesh. But he did not wish to forget, all that they had shared - every moment in the past, and every future that might have been.
He could only hope that she had learned how to stop loving him.
When Marianne sat down at the dining table, every trace of sadness had been wiped from Colette’s face, only a tranquil smile remaining as she greeted her daughter. Mari’s face, too, was devoid of the sadness that had plagued her just moments ago, and Lloyd could not help but wonder.
If he'd been brave enough to take Colette’s hand and run all those years ago, regardless of her protests, would anything have turned out differently?
"Let's eat, shall we?" Marianne said, shattering his train of thought.
Contemplating all the different futures that could have been was no use to anyone.
They were all lost to him now.

Bottom of the barrel isekai: b-rank adventurer with an evil look becomes a daddy to the protagonist and his childhood friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well if i'm reading it, that's a goddamn lie, hello! Pull up a chair, drink my tea, piss on my wife, you have the most control in this world because you are the specialist lil fella that can do not a lick of wrong! It's time for another bottom of the barrel isekai review! Today, you can read the title above, go fuck yourself if you think im going write it out every single god damn time.
Tumblr media
Come out boys, girls and some other thing, frogs? Is that what the enbys like these days? Frogs? Anyways let's do the song and dance!
Our titular main character is a dude from japan, they wasted their live away being a disgusting fucking neet and playing video games all the live long day, being a whale in pirates 101 and domeing me from across the map as widow maker on royal!
Anyways he fucking Dies and gets reincarnated in the game he and his singular friend dearly loved known as bright fantasy, now as we can see in the picture above, perhaps he reincarnated as some sorta giga god, perhaps his party abandoned him because they didnt understand the monumental boon a tax accountant has in another world… perhaps he was summoned by the king to Fuck his wife for him!
Wait a second… is that a sharp detour…? FU-
Anyways gray is reborn as a Thug Npc, or someone with a dark background, his looks mean, he has a average appearance and some fucking sick shoulder gaurds.  He is a moody lil nobody, which is why it's such an insane hook to see it open with two children begging to be adopted by him in the opening
Tumblr media
Now before you get too scared that we are running into uncharted territories since we haven't had anyone betray anyone and the MC has not turned god inside out, we get to dive back into the cool cocoons of familiar fantasy tropes with the adventuring ranking system. I'm not going to bother to explain it, if you got a letter grade in school then you know what it means. Get close to the A and that means you are the Big Boy adventurer who does the Big Boy quests.
Now i do appreciate the authors restraint and only making him the Second Biggest boy and attempting to make him Not A Twink
Tumblr media
We almost have a guy who is on a bulk and not a cut, sigh, one day.
Anyways we pull back ground tall dark and who cares to learn that these two are matchstick kids. Dead broke kids who are attempting to sell flowers they have picked to the people on the street. They were attacked by nobody you are going to remember and get healed by gray. They then decide to beg him to save their ailing parents because I guess wonka isn't around to give golden tickets to get them out of bed or whatever.
They tell them their names, one of them has the super special name of the Super Main Character. What a coinkyDink. Gray knows that if he is to be a villain (???) then his job is to avoid it. Luckily he went to the Katarina claes school of villainy and decided that ethical action is actually more important than meta narrative logic.
Cut to Tiny tims lakeside property and we see the rest of the family living the fucking dream!
Tumblr media
I'm so sorry, i have this mental tick where i accidently say “dream” instead of “nightmare”.
Tumblr media
Also Stella is a vampire, why? Fuck you thats why.
They explain that they have been getting by by the skin of their teeth through a combination of the street urchin grind set of selling flowers and getting church donations. Gray beats up some assumed child abductors outside and gives a somewhat creepy smile.
Next chapter is about Gray stealing an orcs' balls to create a high end potion (viagra) to nobles so he can get enough money to buy something called a “home”? I'm not sure what that is exactly, i'm not sure what the translator was talking about, i've certainly never heard of someone “buying” or owning one for certain.
Tumblr media
I don't actually have much to say about this guy, this is the guy who makes the ball potion for gray, I just like him, he has a funny face, I like looking at it. He looks like someone I would trade yugioh cards with while he tells me about his super cool oc and I would listen because he is a fun dude.
But yeah, the manga is mostly about this guy being a slightly more psychotic late stage kratos, being a dad, trying to raise a bunch of random kids he found, trying to give the main character a taste of normalcy before the plot kicks and and shit goes sideways, oh and sometimes he brutally kills people.
His main goal is to have a family and that's about that.
So let's start getting into things.
The title has no interest in creating an expansive world that is original, everything of it is meat burrowed and stitched into its own narrative to support its own plot line and to explain why this happens and why that is occurring at this point. Now I do not believe that this is inherently a bad thing. In fact it's fine. Not every single manga needs to be the next genre defining piece of media. In fact we need things that are average, we need things that build the genre or else we can never have exceptions to the rule.  The magic system, the team system, the classes, the guilds, the plot, it's all what you would expect from something with final fantasy inspirations. Semi (not really) complicated fighting systems that only make sense to pad out the loving tedium of a game. “Complete this many quests of this level to rank up.” “collect this many monster parts to complete the quest” and so on and so fourth ad infitum until god has to pop out and ask what the fuck is going on.
The art is great in places. Most of it is very bog standard, you aren't going to get that much out of it if you are expecting groundbreaking designs that really make you scratch your chin in wonder at how they made something like that up. But it's very clearly competent and knows how to give each of its characters that needed cover before you read the book. People that need to look like unlikeable thugs look like unlikeable thugs, children that need to look sweet and innocent look sweet and innocent. The artist is really good at goofy expressions but they are a bit few and far between to really satisfy my desire for evil fucked up faces, oh kekegurui… if i didnt hate your plot so much i would be so much more obsessed with you…
The tropes I've already gone over. It uses every single trope but more so in the way someone would do if they were playing a new game plus. You don't want to do the rigamarole of the heroes rise so you make them overpowered and whatever so they can get to the stuff that you have deemed important, that being fatherhood simulator and housing market simulator. The world is secondary to the plot the author wants so they grab the tropes they want to ensure they can focus on that part of the story with impunity while hand waving some other things and give ol daddy gray his badass moments to make the editors happy that this is infact enough of a power fantasy. You know, to keep those freaks that actually buy the manga happy.
As for kink stuff, none that I can see. The author only seems to want women to fawn on the main character so they can complete the golden vision of the dead emperor abe of the nuclear family, perhaps hoping to tempt his blessing from beyond the grave…
This was a little bit of a boreing read. I cant entirely recommend it, but if you want to see some edgy boredline twunk be a dad to a bunch of random kids he adopted then yeah, go for it lmao.

Actually- further elaboration/explanations on this bc I've been looking for writing inspo LMAO
Tumblr media
Incredibly neat and perfect crew
Aryu's handwriting is just yet another stylish component to his aesthetic! He even got into calligraphy for a while. It distracts him from the horror of having to write his old fashioned name on each assignment.
Kaiser picked out his signature when he was 10. What can he say, he signs a lot of checks. It's like a nobrainer for him and you already know all his notes, whether it be a detailed analysis on a soccer player or written on a napkin are evenly spaced and frustratingly small.
Oliver prides himself on being spatialy aware, and that translates well to his writing. He gets easily bored by reading and writing and doesn't do it often but hand him a pen and his skills haven't degraded at all. His writing errs on the large side but is still very neat.
Nagi's handwriting is *almost* perfect. It drifts to the right though. Other than that, his handwriting is similar his sports skills because even though he never really tries to write neatly the characters just end up fitting in every box.
Kunigami is now technically ambidextreous but his dominant hand writes much neater than his previously non dominant hand. It gently curves and swoops just a bit, but not enough for you to claim it's not neat. His signature in english is just a neat print of his name.
Chigiri actually kind of tries to write neatly. Sloppy writing is a pet peeve of his and when he was younger, he tried his best to stay within the lines. When he was in the hospital for his acl injury sometimes he had little to do but doodle, read or practice his handwriting.
Loopy and pretty cursive possy
Lorenzo like Kaiser, signs a lot of checks. He also grew up with cursive as a big patt of his life, everytime he got a birthday card lovingly stuffed with some bills it was in cursive. And every teacher he liked, including Snuffy, knew it. So it only made sense that his writing began to follow similar patterns.
Noa learned english when cursive was popular and seen as neccesary. Never one to slack off when learning a language, he also learned cursive. He liked the way the words looped together and quickly learned shorthand. Although it's pretty, you probably won't be able to read it.
Reo is rich rich. Like his parents made him learn some latin rich. And cursive also exists in Latin. He picked up some writing habits from it that never quite went away. He can still write Catallus 8 from memory, words looping and leaning into one another as if for support.
Tabito loves fancy writing. He learned Kanji first because of the area he lived in and had a deepseated insecurity of being looked down on for it. So he makes sure to learn the most "proper" forms of writing in any language he learns as well as in his mother tounge. Sometimes he finds himself erasing and rewriting characters over and over, which makes him prefer pencil to pen.
Completely illegable, you need dental records to identify these words club
Sendou's handwriting was never the best. But who cares! He wanted to become a big soccer star anyway not get good marks in school, so he never improved upon it. Every paper he turned in would come back marked with question marks but he didn't particularly care. He thinks it's just another charming part of his character.
Bachira likes writing left to right in japanese way more than up and down, but this form suffers from a severe lack of quality. Some characters are illegable. Others are too large and overpower the "less important ones". Especially since he has a tendancy to write with his hand tilted all weirdly.
Rin never got his handwriting together and although all his notes look neat to him, anyone else would have to squint to read it. The letters and characters are always unbarably small and hard to decipher from one another. Rin is honestly a bit shy to show his writing to others because of this.
Raichi never concidered writing very important. Even when he was much younger he picked up on it later than his classmates, making spelling mistakes that embarassed his parents. He still makes plently of mistakes making his handwriting suffer more from grammar mistakes than any immediant messiness.
Crushed but legible bloc (the c got edited out on accident)
Lavinho's writing used to be much worse, his teachers forced him to get it together though. Even though he focused more on honing his sports skills than school, chasing football fame, he knew communicating with people is important. If anything his handwriting is better now because he used to be embarassed that people could barely read it.
Isagi's writing is wordy. Always. He never conciders how much space he needs and before he knows it he's almost filled the page and has to crush in his last few sentences. Without fail it starts our neat and then gets more rushed as time goes on, character having justtt enough space for you to distinguish them from one another.
Shidou gets suprisingly good grades. He's one of those kids who you wouldn't think takes school seriously then turns out to be a sponge of information. He loved learning as a kid and writing was no different. He spent an obessive amount of time perfecting his name and he's pretty proud of his handwriting and all it's quirks.
Sae used to have horrendous handwriting, similar to Rin. But he took his advisors advice when he told the rising star to get his writing together, especially his english. He worked at it and it got better, but he can't deny he still dislikes writing for long periods as it gives him cramps and hurts his wrist. So he naturally prefers shorthand.
Hiori, like Tabito, learned Kanjj and then standard Japanese writing. Unlike him, he has no shame about it. He likes learning languages and writing in general, so even though his handwriting has grammar mistakes here and there it isn't unforgivable thanks to hours of practice. A bit messy, yes, but not indecipherable.

Lois Lane reading recs?👀
Sorry it took me a while to respond, I had to go back and skim read some of these comics to be sure I was remembering them right and some of them i ended up rereading for real lol. I am going to preface this by saying I'm still working my way through the Superman ongoings so that's a blind spot in my knowledge of any of the characters there. That being said, here is my list, ordered vaguely in order of relevance...
Lois Lane Vol. 2 (2019) - I literally cannot emphasize this one enough, it's so good. If you only ever read one thing about Lois please read this. You might need a basic understanding of the Rebirth timeline changes to follow some of what goes on in this series, but to get that you just need to read the wikis, ask someone for a summary, or go read The Final Days of Superman and Superman: Reborn and maybe Convergence Superman too. This series is twelve issues long which is an easy length but not too short, it's written by Greg Rucka who's a pretty good writer in my opinion, and it's just such an engaging story overall. It features Lois investigating corruption, a team-up with Renee Montoya aka the Question, a discussion of the ramifications of timeline changes, Perry despairing at Lois' typos, gay flirting, and Clark dropping in every so often to be adorably married. Also Rucka so clearly likes and respects Lois as a character and it comes through in the story. I almost want to call this series a love letter to Lois Lane.
Action Comics #1, 2 - the first ever story about Superman and Lois Lane. Every comic since then has been built off this one.
Action Comics #6, Superman (1939) #29, 33, 34 - these are some classic Golden Age Lois Lane stories. They're all collected in the Lois Lane: A Celeblation Of 75 Years volume and that's where I read them. These stories are all really fun to read, they show the original characterization of Lois: headstrong, stubborn, determined to prove herself, and very intelligent. They tend to follow a similar format to each other where her male coworkers heckle her or make fun of her or attempt to sideline her and she goes out and proves them all wrong. That 75th anniversary collection has some other good stories too.
The Death of Superman, Funeral For A Friend, Reign Of The Supermen, Return of Superman - the Death of Superman stories may not be primarily focused on Lois, but they were a huge event for Superman comics as a whole and therefore are important to Lois too. She has an important role here, she does in most Superman comics, but this one brings a big change in her life so it's good to read this. It's super easy to find reading lists for these, it'll come up as soon as you google it, but I can absolutely put one together for you if you need it.
Superman (1987) #50, Action Comics #662, 720, and Superman and Lois Lane: The 25th Wedding Anniversary - the first three are the issues where Lois and Clark get engaged, Clark tells Lois his identity, and Lois breaks off the engagement, respectively. The last is the collection of the five issues where they get engaged again, get married, then go on their honeymoon. I unfortunately don't have a more detailed list about that era but hopefully I will soon.
The Chris Kent comics - these are pretty good for Lois, they feature a full character arc for Lois about her decision on whether or not to adopt Chris. Lois and Clark have a whole dilemma on whether they should become parents, so its an important story arc both for their relationship and for their personal feelings towards family and parenthood. It's also just really sweet because Chris is literally the sweetest kid ever. This is a link to a post that has the list of comics:
New Krypton era - if you can, I definitely recommend you read this, because several parts of it are important for Lois. I can't give you a detailed list on this because I read it like two years ago all at once so there's a bunch I don't remember and it's a huge storyline so laying out the reading order is going to take more time than I have right now, but I know there are New Krypton reading lists out there, and I'm going to try to make a list myself sometime in the near future. The post I linked in the previous paragraph also has a link to a post that lists Chris Kent's stories in that era. Chris' stories have Lois show up sometimes and have important further exposition on their relationship. And in addition to that, there are also parts of New Krypton where Lois' father is involved, one issue where he dies, and a few parts where her sister is involved as well. It's a pretty big and important era for the whole Superfamily.
Wonder Woman (1983) #170 - Lois spends the day with Diana to write an article about her. It's great because it establishes a connection between Lois and Diana. It's really interesting because it's examining Diana's character through the perspective of an outsider, and filtering everything Lois learns about Diana through the lens of Lois' biases and preconceptions. Lois' reflections on Diana end up being a reflection of herself as well as being about Diana. Also I just really like Lois and Diana being friends.
Mysteries of Love in Space #1 - possibly my favourite Clois comic of all time. Literally amazing, no notes.
Lois Lane Vol. 1 (1986) - this is one of those comics where the writer decides to talk about a social issue they're thinking about and uses comic characters to do it. In this case it's about children being kidnapped and trafficked, and it follows Lois trying to write a story about the issue. It's honestly not very important in terms of getting to know Lois, and I don't even know if it's part of main continuity, but it's nice to have a story that focuses exclusively on Lois doing her work.
Superman (1987) #88 - a story where Lois gets very angry about the mistreatment of Bizarro by Luthor and Lexcorp. Idk I read this a couple days ago and enjoyed it so I wanted to put it in. Its not really important but if you want to read the full story arc it's titled Bizarro's World and the issues are Superman (1987) #87, Adventures of Superman #510, Action Comics #697, Superman: The Man of Steel (1991) #32, Superman #88.
Superwoman (2016) #1-8 - this one actually has very little Lois in it, and the Lois that's talked about most in it is New52 Lois who you may or may not be able to call the same character as pre-Flashpoint/post-Rebirth Lois, but she persistently haunts the narrative in a way that's really cool to me. Also the other Lois shows up too, if briefly. The story is about Lana Lang being Superwoman while also kind of having to step into the shoes of Lois who was also briefly Superwoman. In general its a great series and has really pretty art so even if the lack of Lois disappoints you its still really good on its own, especially given that its written and drawn by Phil Jiminez who's really solid. You will probably need to read the Final Days of Superman and Superman: Reborn to understand this though.
Superman Smashes The Klan - this is a retelling of an early Superman story that's not in-continuity. It's a really really good story though and i do recommend you read it even if its not for Lois.. It doesnt have much Lois in it, it mainly focuses on a pair of children caught up in some racist attacks, but it does have one of my favourite Lois moments ever...where she's shown to be one of the very few people who aren't afraid of Superman when they find out he's an alien.
There are also a couple books that are for a YA/preteen audience that are exclusively about Lois, Girl Taking Over, and Lois Lane and the Friendship Challenge. Both are pretty cute easy-to-understand stories about Lois as a kid if you're interested in that.
Also like...a lot of Superman comics are going to have Lois in them and she often has a supporting role if she's not in a main role. If you read these comics and you like them, you can use them as a jumping-off point for getting into more Super comics which are going to have more Lois in them! And if you're hesitant to dive into the endless Superman ongoings, there are several retellings and reinterpretations of the Superman origin (like Superman Smashes The Klan) that tell the stories without being bogged down by the dense lore of the ongoings...Superman Secret Origins, Superman For All Seasons, All-Star Superman, American Alien, and John Byrne's initial Man of Steel comics from the 80s are some popular ones. If you do want to get into an ongoing, the current Superman series that started this year is good.
Let me know if you have questions or need clarification on something and enjoy your reading! Also if anyone with better knowledge of Lois is reading this please feel free to add on!

These are the Buddies for October 3rd. Fifteen of them, but they're rather small. I've never done a character expression practice before, but, I kinda like how some of them turned out. The extremely cute one, and the perfectly content, those are good. The irritated one was harder to figure out - I tried to make it look like Buddy was foaming at the mouth (with rage) but it doesn't look like it worked. And the very angry one - it's supposed to be that his hair is turning into a nuclear mushroom, but it just look like he's half broccoli or something.
Still, I like those drawing templates. They're fun for comic book fans. I'm way into comics after all. I remember I was into Marvel when I was younger, and I took it pretty serious - I'd read interviews with creators and letter sections, and I'd naively believe what they were saying. Like with Spider-Man, I remember Gerry Conway introduction to a Marvel collection about how he decided to write a story where Spider-Man's girlfriend Gwen Stacy died, explaining that the relationship was too serious and they'd end up married soon, which would be bad for sales. It made sense to me at the time, but now it sounds like nonsense - it's a comic book character! If you don't want him to be married, don't write him being married!
But the thing about being a fan of something is, if you really care about it, you can quickly flip the switch to disliking it if they do something offensive enough.
In Marvel's case, it was that storyline where Spider-Man made a deal with the devil. That was the moment I thought, well, I'm done with Marvel, I'm never reading anything they publish again. It was a famously bad story, reactionary and misogynistic, and it was such a big change for the character it made me give up on Marvel.
And, again, looking back, it feels like it was a silly overreaction on my part. It's just a comic book, after all - they wrote a bad story, but they just retcon it later, it becomes an interesting memory, and it can even lead the character into different fun directions. It doesn't make sense to reject every new writer who might have good stories in his mind just because someone else wrote something crappy, right?
But even so, I've never been as big a fan of Marvel since then. That's not to say there hasn't been good Marvel comics after that, or even that that particular story didn't end up having some good consequences. It's just that it feels silly to care so much about a random company. It's almost like a real break up: I was mad at Marvel at the time, because I didn't love it anymore. But now we're good friends.

What Kiss Trope Is Destined To Be In Your Narrative?
Tumblr media
The Motivational Kiss
A Motivational Kiss happens when someone, almost always female, gives the main protagonist a kiss that gives him an extra boost in confidence. The kisser will often, but not always, be the protagonist's love interest, or at least someone with whom he's been ship-teased in the past. There's nothing like the feeling of being kissed by someone who champions you.
Tumblr media
The Kiss of Death
The primary instincts of all creatures — sex and death. If you can combine the two they become a bigger selling point. Though not exactly graphic, the Kiss of Death is still sensual, seductive, and very, very deadly. The Kiss of Death comes in many varieties, including: hypnosis, narcotic effect, and sucking out the soul of the victim, which may or may not result in death, depending on the story. Crucially it can also be a symbolic gesture — the kiss itself does not bring death or harm, but the person who receives it knows that his days are numbered.
Tumblr media
The Now or Never Kiss
The Last Kiss? No, it's not the last, but the characters don't know that. Death appears imminent — the temperature is rising, the room is filling up with water, the plane is about to hit the ground, the rope they're dangling from is about to break and drop them off the cliff, the room is on fire and the door's locked, the world is coming to an end... The point is, this is no place for unresolved sexual tension. The Not-A-Couple don't want to go out without revealing how they really feel. It's now or never. They kiss. This can also be 'Now or Maybe Never' kiss; one or both are heading into danger, or likely-potential death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Signed With a Kiss
Every letter needs a signature, right? While simply signing their name is common, sometimes a character feels that it's not enough (or they'd rather leave their name off the letter entirely). So they decide to sign off their letter by leaving a kiss mark at the end of it, with or without their name or signature. Though this is especially prevalent with love letters (or even affair letters) given the romantic nature of the content, a kiss could be left for several reasons by several different types of characters, such as from a secret admirer or a seductress's personal signature. There's usually a romantic connection between the sender and the recipient, so these exchanges are popular between partners or love interests.

The Slap-Slap-Kiss
When two characters with romantic tension spend a lot of time bickering, it is all but inevitable that sooner or later one will interrupt the other mid-rant by suddenly grabbing and kissing them. The kissed one rarely resists and usually responds wholeheartedly. Usually, the cause of this is something that triggers their hostilities to the point of reaching a climax that results in an exchange of slaps or blows, followed by a moment where both stare at each other in combined confusion and shock, after which they dive into the kiss. One such instance would be if one suitor was in danger, causing the other to realize the deep affection they actually have for this person they have spent their entire time fighting with. Either way, the kiss prompts both to realize that they've been in love all this time — the rationale being that they wouldn't argue so much if they didn't give a damn about each other.
