#It helps that Seishirou isn't there
Note
During your first read through of Acid Tokyo, I think you (or someone else commenting) may have already noted this, but it's just too cool to not point out again. Your thoughts on Tsubasa Kamui are so spot on, and it's even more fascinating thinking of his X counterpart comparison. I think of Tsubasa Kamui (and potentially all of Acid Tokyo) as the direct consequences of if Kamui had chosen Earth in X, hence why he's even teamed up with the Dragons of Earth here. I know you hate Fuuma, but it's kinda cool how Acid Tokyo also illustrates how he might have turned out if he'd been forced into the Heaven role instead of all that terribleness he does in X. Still with a bit of that creepy personality, but a lot more benign than his X counterpart. Seeing the state of the world in Acid Tokyo almost like an alternate timeline of X is pretty interesting to me! Random tangent over!
A+ tangent! Oh, it's so fun to compare the two plotlines. I really adore the comparison you make here - Kamui and Fuuma swapping places has such a fascinating impact on their situations and the people around them. Like you said, Fuuma is a lot more sympathetic, and I think it really helps to have him fighting to save people's lives rather than the opposite. Not only that, but Kamui ends up with opposite characterisation too! Rather than growing into someone who cares about the people around him and trying to save the world, the Kamui we meet in Acid Tokyo is so deeply focused on his own agenda that he doesn't care at all for anything - and ends dooming all the survivors because of it. Without Sakura's intervention, Kamui's selfishness would have killed everyone left.
I also like how the Dragons of Earth get this treatment too. Even though they're practical about the details of saving people, they clearly care about the survivors in their camp and Satsuki especially shines through as a much more caring individual. It's so fun that we get to see an alternate way things could have gone. It really shows that CLAMP put a lot of thought into the choices they made in X/1999, even if we never got to see the full scope of it.

hi hii! i LOVE ur siblings fics!! i once requested an older brother nagi fic ANS I LOVE IT SO MUCH THANK YOUU!! if its okay, can i request older brother nagi, bachira, rin, and isagi and younger sibling reader with parents who is always out for work?? so the reader gets lonely all by themself since their parents is out and they only have time with their brother after their brother go home from school? SO SORRY IF ITS TOO SPECIFIC OR IF THERES TOO MUCH CHARACTER!! you can just write nagi and bachira if its too much! (or you can add more if u want to!) sorry if this request is too long, you can ignore this if you want! anyways i love ur works a lot so thank you so much! i hope you keep enjoying writing :D
Honestly, I love long and specific requests especially with multiple characters because it's just fun to interpret the same situation in different ways, so I've decided to add Barou as well because the big bro Barou brainrot is strong rn <3 also, thank you very much!! I'm glad you enjoyed the big bro Nagi headcanons!!
Characters: Nagi, Bachira, Rin, Isagi, Barou
Requests open - current writing event - masterlist
Tags: gn!younger sibling!reader, sibling fluff, reader is around 2 years younger than the older sibling
Seishirou Nagi (additionally: big bro Nagi after a fight headcanons/scenario)
-because your parents travel all the time, you and Seishirou live alone together
-he definitely takes better care of you than he does of himself. For example, he's too lazy to eat and he also doesn't do a lot of his homework on time because he procrastinates so much. But when it comes to you, he always checks if you've eaten enough and if you're meeting all your deadlines regarding school
-Seishirou doesn't like cooking. It takes too much effort. And because you don't want him to starve or order takeout all the time (it's expensive and leaves you with a lot of trash), you learn how to cook so you can make all the meals
-even though eating is too much of a hassle for your big brother, he always eats whatever you make for him, since he knows you put a lot of effort into it
Meguru Bachira
-Meguru is energetic all the time, no matter how much time he's spent in school or how much homework he had to do, if he gets to spend time with you, all his energy returns!
-the house never feels lonely, even if it's just the both of you. Meguru loves being around you and never runs out of things to talk about
-sometimes you're tired and don't feel like talking. That's when either Meguru does all the talking and you just listen, or you sit together in the living room in silence, watching some random movie
-it's very rare for you to be in separate rooms. You don't mind being alone, but Meguru always gets afraid of you getting sad, so he tries to be around you all the time. In case you really want to be alone, he will definitely let you have your private time and either play soccer outside or return to his own room
Rin Itoshi (additionally: Itoshi siblings masterlist)
-Rin doesn't like being around people, you're the only exception to that. He's not around you all the time, but he checks on you fairly often and asks if you need help with anything very often
-even if you don't need his help, you often pretend like you can't do your homework on your own, so he can help you with it
-since Sae left and because your parents are out of the house so much, you and Rin have a very close emotional bond
-Rin isn't the middle child anymore, he's the big brother now, so he definitely acts like it. He gets overprotective a lot. He always wants you to tell him about your day and if anyone in school was mean to you
-even though your parents are gone almost all of the time, you don't remember ever feeling lonely at home, thanks to Rin
-you know even when Rin isn't in the same room as you, you just have to call for him or knock on his door, and he'll be right with you
Yoichi Isagi
-Yoichi takes a lot of responsibility when it comes to you. He does more than he needs to, but it doesn't bother him at all
-your parents sometimes joke about him being almost motherly towards you. And actually, that's true
-even though you're only two years younger, Yoichi tends to treat you as if you were a lot younger. He's very stuck in his position as a big brother, especially since he's alone at home with you so much. To him, as soon as he gets home from school, making sure you're okay is his main responsibility
-you do a lot of things together, like sharing your chores and sitting at the dining table to do your homework. Being in each other's company makes the absence of your parents more bearable
-talking with Yoichi is a lot of fun! He talks a lot about soccer and you talk a lot about what you're into. But sometimes you talk so much, you forget the time and suddenly you hear your parents being back home, which means it's already late at night
Shouei Barou
-as soon as it's only you and him in the house, he goes full parent mode
-don't worry about your chores, Shouei will do them. That's actually because he thinks you don't clean well enough, but he makes you believe he doesn't want you to do extra work after an exhausting day in school
-sometimes you have to remind him he's your brother and not your parent. As soon as you get into trouble with something, he starts holding speeches about why what you did was wrong. One time he even tried to ground you, but him even attempting that made you laugh so hard he couldn't be serious about it anymore either
-you think you're too old for it, but Shouei insists on tucking you into bed every night. He wants to make sure you get into bed at a decent time to get enough sleep

I know it's hard to notice since all angst betrayal and tragedy, but in vol7 Seishirou is actually hella creepy touchy with Subaru. Actually even during bet year, the more his 'facade slipped', the more handsy he was with Subaru even when he was conscious (ahem, hospital scene)
Yes, semi analysis and shitpost about Seishirou's creepy touching and mental gymnastic in vol7. Yes in that angst.
Tumblr media
Oke we start with relatively chastite touch - scratch that this is Seishirou we're talking about nothing is ever chastite with him. Predatory "I'm about to fuck you up mentally and emotionally for life" type of touch
Tumblr media
Was it necessary to pull Subaru in that close? Ofc. How else would he deliver the news of what bastard he is? Duh
Maybe 6/10 on creepy touchy scale. But we're just getting started with pain and suffering. And creepy touchiness
Tumblr media
Very dominating, very disturbing, very possessive, very sensual - give me 5 more of those.
Also how to waste a chance to talk about Seishirou's hand fetish? Actually it's Seishirou's obsessiveness and possessiveness showing because he's so obsessed with Subaru's hands because that's where his marks are. In his mind, Subaru is his prey; is object that belongs to him. Seishirou might deny it all he wants it, but he sees Subaru as 'special' on simple basic that he made the bet in the first place. Noone else is marked by Sakurazukamori's marks nor was spared death for that long. Nor does Seishirou view anyone else as his prey; as his. Messed up and distorted way of being special yes, but from the man that views emotional connection and love as weakness nothing better could be expected.
In a way, it could be said Seishirou lost the bet the moment he made it. If we go by definition of him viewing Subaru as 'different from the rest'
Tumblr media
Almost delicate hand hold (the irony), chin grab and hand kiss - Seishirou literally can't keep his hands of Subaru's hands. Really, if he knew he was the first person to touch Subaru's bare hands in idk, 8-9 years he would have gone feral
All while mindfuckery is playing on and Seishirou surely is getting kick out of 'tainting ' Subaru's innocent perspective on life. Psychological torture Seishirou's love language <3
Tumblr media
Yes, hand fetish.
We know.
Tumblr media
So here he's either sitting down or kneeling and cradled semi-conscious Subaru against himself? All while caressing his neck (vulnerable body area) and gripping chin. And ofc inflicting irreparable psychological damage on Subaru's psyche.
How Seishirou manages to look equally tender and sadistic, it's actually a very good metaphor for mixed picture Subaru has of him. For a year he was nothing but compassionate and kind to Subaru, created picture of kindness and safety. And then in span of couple minutes all of that came crashing down. Psychological trauma of this kind is deeply scaring as victim cannot tell what was real and what wasn't. Ofc when retrospecting, Subaru would be foolish to say Seishirou showed him true face during bet; but discarding all of that as pretense and lie wouldn't be the full truth either (from reader's perspective). So whilst Subaru probably discarded it all as him being fooled, we as readers are left in confusion
Some abuse followed which I won't include since ;-; but really, what was the reason for beating Subaru up like that? It served no purpose? He was already destroying Subaru's innocence and soul via psychological damage. So I can't help thinking Seishirou was lashing out, for multiple reasons. Press f to pay respect to that man's lack of self awareness
Tumblr media
Ouch. And when you take into consideration how Subaru thought "I may be worthless and there isn't much to like about me so if someone hated me I'd have noone to blame but myself" literally before walking through that door. No wonder boy's self esteem and self respect is in minus
No creepy touching but creepy leaning over almost crucified Subaru. All while saying those things. Truly a bastard
Tumblr media
"Ah yes, your grandmother came to rescue you since I spent too much time mentally torturing you and mansplaining. I totally should hurry up and kill you once and for all. Goodbye. Yes I'm about to kill you but let me wipe your tears and caress your face a bit more. Yes I must grip your chin a bit more. Goodbye, now for real. Yes I'm about to kill you now. For real. Ah damn looks like your grandmother broke my spell, what a pity you were able to get away. Never mind that I said literally minutes prior that I'm stronger than her, I must retreat back to safety. No I totally wasn't waiting for someone to rescue you, no way I was completely emotionally prepared to kill you. Looks like you got away this time Subaru-kun"
F in chat for this man's lack of self awareness

TRC AU where the vampire twins have been part of the Tsubasa gang's journey from the very beginning.
Ohh this is intriguing. I won't be going too much into TRC concrete plot or relationship between TRC main gang themselves, I'll focus mostly on Subaru and Kamui (and SubKam):
Paying with their blood isn't enough for twins to hop dimensions so Yuuko suggests they travel with TRC crew. Kamui is instantly distrustful of them (nothing person, he's just vigilant like that) but even Subaru is slightly on guard. After all, person who he trusted just betrayed him and tried to kill him, forcing twins to be on a run.Seeing as they have no option other than accept, they begin traveling with Syaoran, Sakura, Fai, Kurogane and Mokona.
When they arrive to Hanshin republic twins see Sorata and Arashi and are instantly reminded of ones from their world. Of course, Sorata and Arashi from this world don't recognize them; since it's their first world, Subaru get extra melancholic and lonely because of that. Kamui gets frustrated too but mostly beause of Subaru's melancholy and fact they're surrounded by strangers (TRC gang). However it's in this world where all six of them are getting to know each other (ofc minus twins and Syaoran -> Sakura). They instantly bond with Mokona however, Kamui can’t say no to that cuteness and being doted on. Mokona compares him to a hissing kitten. Kamui blushes and is about to join Kurogane’s mission of killing that little thing - but it’s first time he saw Subaru laugh since they stated being on run, so Kamui lets it slide. He’s a hissing kitten from there on.
In Koryo and Fog country Subaru and Kamui begin forming bonds with rest of crew. Since Fai is shady af in this part, Kamui takes a subtle disliking on him because see what happened last time they trusted someone shady? Subaru consoles Kamui and suggests they give Fai a chance (to which Kamui hisses even more but he can't really be mad at Subaru). Fortunately for Kamui, Subaru spends more time with Syaoran and Sakura; Kamui follows as well and he feels like they're safe with those two teenagers. Twins are hiding fact that they're vampires although, mainly because they aren't sure if they'll be hunted down and how TRC crew would react. Plus Kamui is worried something like what happened with Seishirou would happened again and someone would get vampire blood from them. Nonetheless, Kurogane suspects something isn't as it seems about twins. Something feels off. just like with Fai, he won't hold back on calling Kamui out on 'moving so fast' or 'never seen eating human food' and so on. Kamui avoids him because of those call outs. Twin feed on each other only, in complete privacy so noone knows.
It's in Outo that things go down. Since Kamui is more battle-inclined than Subaru, Fai suggests Subaru stays behind and helps with Cat eye cafe while Kamui helps Syaoran and Kurogane fight against demons (Kamui gets called hissing kitten and Subaru docile puppy). Nonetheless neither of twins can shake sense that something just feels off about Outo. Kamui is worried something really bad might happen but Subaru reassures him everything would be fine; he cant stand seeing his twin anxious like that. Then one day Syaoran returns to cafe saying he ran into his ex-teacher, Seishirou. Last bit of hope vanishes when Syaoran retells story of how they met and how he’s searching for vampire twins. Seeing as how pale and anxious twins became, Kurogane and Fai put two and two together but kept realization between themselves.
Of course twins want to leave world asap but there’s a catch: Sakura’s feather in still somewhere in country. Kamui denies they’re vampires upon asking but even he knows it’s inane to conceal truth any longer. Gang agrees to stay in world few more days the most and if feather isn’t found in that time, they’ll leave for safety reasons. Kamui refused to leave Subaru’s side in meantime; that night instead of going to his room Kamui said he’ll sleep by Subaru’s bedside. Subaru insisted Kamui shouldn’t sleep on floor when they shared same bed when younger countless times before. So they cuddle and reassure each other, eventually falling asleep in each other’s embrace; still, neither of them can deny that something fees different from how they cuddled before. Why bumping heart and fuzzy feeling within chest? Still, they have much more pressing issue at hand than sources of said warm fuzzy feelings and mushy thoughts.
Since they’re connected via blood, Seishirou manages to locate Subaru and Cat eye cafe next day. Full blown fight breaks out. Fai goes out first just like in manga; Seishirou removes him as he has no business with him. So that leaves twins (and Sakura, who was told to escape and seek Kurogane and Syaoran) with Seishirou. They fight but Subaru is more focused on protecting Kamui than injuring Seishirou (for various reasons). In the end Seishirou fake-attacks Suabru, causing Kamui to attack recklessly; just as Seishirou is about to deliver a blow to Kamui, Subaru pushes him out of way and gets pierced by scythe instead. He ‘dies’ and transports to Edonis where Fai and Chitose explain everything about Outo. Of course, Kamui knows none of that and thinks Subaru is really dead - he goes berserk. Kurogane and Syaoran arrive in meantime and Outo slowly dissolves. Seeing how fiery and none-human Kamui is fighting, Crew concludes twins are vampires. Even if Seishirou caught up with twins, he never imagined they wouldn’t be alone. As it’s 1-vs-5, he has no choice other than to leave; but he threatens he’ll never abandon what is ‘his’. Ofc Kamui’s blood boil when he hears that hunter refer to his twin like that (and he’s still afraid for Subaru’s safety), but there’s more to ire than protectiveness. Twins reunite and Kamui weeps in Subaru’s arms how he thought he was dead. TRC crew gives them a minute of privacy before leaving Edonis. Subaru reassures him and cuddles closer; they talk, faces inches apart. Magnetic pull is drawing them together, Subaru impulsively leans in to - Fai accidentally interrupts them; he knows what has almost happened between twins but chooses not to comment or tell others.
In Idol country they sort of catch a break. Twins disclose some of history they share with Seishirou and why he’s hunting them down. Inconvinince for all of them yes, but Kurogane says he’ll give them a hand in battle if it comes to that (since he took personal disliking on Seishirou; very valid of you Kurogane). Subaru and Kamui are glued to each other after Outo accident but neither of them can deny how atmosphere between them shifted; there is tension lingering. Kurogane, Fai and Mokona notice it too, but only Fai knows what that is truly about. Just like with rest of crew, he’s trying to keep emotional distance but not be too obvious about it so Fai decides it’s better for him not to meddle. Mokona asks Subaru why he’s being so jumpy whenever Kamui touches him now, but Subaru can’t give a proper answer; neither to himself nor Mokona. She asks Kamui in private too, he can’t answer either.

I almost posted this as a poll response, then remembered that you are always only one step removed from ship wars in fandom, and decided to make a post on my own blog instead. I find it so bewitching to witness Touya/Yukito battling against Seishirou/Subaru because it's like CLAMP's two souls pitted against each other. I love both ships a lot, for very different reasons. Touya/Yukito is just so healthy. They love each other profoundly, they treat each other right, they have good communication once plot shenanigans stop happening, they are equals from the start. Their love is soft, and deep, but that doesn't mean it's not passionate; we never get to see that passion because of the target demographic of the manga, but Touya pinning Yukito against a tree is just one example of what's happening off-stage. Their relationship is what every mentally healthy person should aspire to. Seishirou/Subaru is just the opposite. They are both mentally unhealthy people at the time the manga starts, Subaru because of having such a heavy burden on his shoulders ever since he was a child, Seishirou because he's a sociopath. Their relationship starts off with a profound power and knowledge imbalance, in that Subaru being younger means that his potential is not fully developed the way Seishirou's is, and that the game Seishirou is playing with Subaru is rigged, since Subaru doesn't remember the rules. Subaru never stood a chance, and that defines their entire relationship even when they meet again later in life, because Subaru is still too emotionally damaged even as he's grown into his powers, while Seishirou still acts unaffected. A valid interpretation is that Seishirou would have killed Subaru if not for Hokuto's spell...except there is the little eye matter. Seishirou being a sociopath means what is generally considered normal doesn't apply to him, but if we try to translate Seishirou's wish into a more regular pattern, what Seishirou wanted was to be the only important person for Subaru. He couldn't let Subaru go any more that Subaru could, and that is profoundly unhealthy, and...profoundly relatable for anyone who's not mentally healthy and isn't in a healthy relationship. CLAMP never finished X, so we will never know Seishirou's last words to Subaru. Considering the precedent CLAMP set in this matter is in RG Veda's last volume, where the revelation of Ashura Ou's actual last words to Taishakuten completely change the reader's perception of the entire story, I cannot help wondering if CLAMP meant to include a similar scene for Seishirou's last words. We will never know, but the mere fact that CLAMP left us hanging means Seishirou/Subaru will always be in my head more than Touya/Yukito, since we can only speculate on what their whole relationship was meant to be.

sports i think characters would play (if they didn't play their current sport) pt. 2
including:
knb: kagami, akashi, kuroko
daiya: kuramochi, miyuki, mei
bllk: isagi, bachira, nagi
part 1
kagami taiga sport: soccer/futbol
he's like aomine, honestly. amazing ball skills, and he's pretty fast so i think he'd totally be a striker. amazing at 1v1s and even 2v1s, but he rarely passes the ball to the other forwards. what a ball hog.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
akashi seijuro sport: baseball
he's an amazing analytical player. i honestly think he'd thrive in any position, but mostly a catcher or a pitcher. definitely can read the ball well and outthink his opponents while hitting
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
kuroko tetsuya sport: water polo
his lack of presence would definitely help him here. water polo is so physical that i think he'd have an easier time avoiding the other team. he might not get the ball as much, but he'd definitely be good at connecting passes. i think he might suck at scoring, though.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
kuramochi youichi sport: track
his nickname is cheetah for a reason (and weasel but that's not relevant right now). he'd be an amazing short distance runner, his event would probably be 100m. or maybe relays. but he'd definitely excel at it.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
miyuki kazuya sport: soccer/futbol
specifically a goalie. they can see the entire field, and is the leader on the field. they call out who's open and what to do. it's really similar to being a catcher and i think he'd be good at leading the team.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
narumiya mei sport: tennis
i don't know i'm going on a gut feeling with this one. he just gives me tennis vibes. it might just be the blonde hair and collared shirts. he'd probably be good at most eye-hand coordinated sports, anyway. and the fact that tennis isn't a team sport, so he can stand out even more.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
isagi youichi sport: hockey
definitely a team sport type of person. i don't know too much about hockey but i think he'd be able to handle the physicality. can skate and handle the puck well. he definitely is a goal scorer.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
bachira meguru sport: basketball
he's very sporatic, and i think that can be useful in basketball. while aomine and kagami would be good at soccer because of basketball, bachira would be on the flip side (good at basketball because of soccer). he's fast, no doubt, and has the stamina needed to last the entire game.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
nagi seishirou sport: volleyball
he's tall, and even if he's lazy, he'd probably get the job done (if you tell him to). he can't do the kind of trick shots he does in soccer, but if he was a spiker he could probably make up a cool move that throws off the opposing team.
─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

clamp heist au (like six of crows or the gilded wolves???)
so i actually haven't read either of those (but i've now put them on my to-read list!) but based on a quick summary and my obsession with leverage i'll give it a shot!
eagle is in charge of the equipment they'll need and is secretly exploring his ability to communicate with tech and control it with his mind. because he's using magic without knowing how to control it, it's taking a severe toll on his health. even lantis doesn't know, but he suspects something is up
lantis is their muscle who never shows his face when palace officials are near. he's the runaway brother of the royal mage, with powerful magic himself, who is trying to destroy the curse on the princess (who is an adult in this because i said so) that will kill her soon after she falls in love. running with this crew gives him more access to magical texts. eagle is racing to find a solution first before lantis kills himself in the attempt
kurogane is also their muscle, who seems human at first glance but fai suspects that's not entirely true. he's right. kurogane isn't a fullblown dreamseer, but his mother was so powerful that he can still sense magic and is immune to a decent amount of mid to low level magic. he's running with this crew to find information on who killed his parents
fai is just running. he's the grifter, and he can charm anyone to a degree, except kurogane. fai insists it's because of kurogane's powers, kurogane doesn't even bother to argue, just quirks an eyebrow and says "so you're running cons with magic then?" which they both know he isn't, but fai doesn't want to think about how kurogane sees him so well. he and kurogane are trapped in a silent spiral of "i know that you know that i know that you know" over what a powerful mage he is. he's running to avoid his curse activating on his father, it hasn't even occurred to him to find a cure. he'll have to leave this crew behind soon too, otherwise they'll be driven mad
touya is a psychic, but the only ones who know are yuki and yue (and kurogane, but he figures that's none of his business) who they keep running into because he works everywhere. he knows they're thieves, they suspect he knows, but he doesn't care enough to say anything about it. if they want to rob some rich assholes who's he to judge their hobbies. he also constantly brings back materials for yuki and yue's apothecary
yuki is a mage who specializes in potions and touching artifacts he shouldn't be touching, which in his defense is how they found yue, which has won him many an argument since. he's actually pretty good at finding and containing dangerous artifacts, touya and yue just don't like how dangerous it is. he released yue from containment on one such trip, and he and touya were affectionate and doting towards yue until they fell for the two of them
yue is an ancient moon spirit that precedes most known magics and dodges questions about it like it's an olympic sport (although they have opened up to yuki and touya about it). they're extremely protective of yuki and touya, and helps yuki run the apothecary while teaching them more about magic. they've also layered yuki and touya in so much protective magic it's entirely possible someone will burst into flames just from looking at them wrong, but it's never been proven
kamui is a flame spirit who's mother was destroyed by hunters, and fled blindly until he crashed into subaru's garden. he was hostile and defensive for all of two seconds before subaru's gentle concern and attempts to help him wore him down, and he's stayed with him ever since. he doesn't have full control over his powers yet, so when subaru is near happy, bright little puffs of fire will flutter off of him. to subaru's amazement, kamui's fire only burns when he wills it to
subaru is a healing mage who has never in his entire life met seishirou because i want him to have a good day for once. he frequently travels to help anyone in need of healing and usually has to be gently badgered into accepting some kind of pay (food and gifts for kamui are the easiest to get him to accept). he can heal anything from injuries of the flesh to injuries of the soul (even on the lingering dead). he frequently overexerts himself, so kamui secretly replenishes his magic while he's sleeping to keep him from hurting himself
all of their lives collide in full when they discover that the secret movements by the rich assholes include the attempts to destroy kamui, fai's curse, and the attempts to find yue. they are part of a massive conspiracy to seize control of magic and the country, and they team up to stop them. their found families also join in to help them, and they all pool their resources to steal the collection of magical artifacts (which include yue's earring and fai's staff) that is allowing said rich assholes to power themselves up as much as they have

The manipulative, toxic, unhealthy and possessive relationship mahiru-guren. Part 1..
Can I say that they relationship is built towards love? No, not at all. Can I say that was love between guren and mahiru from both parts? No, absolutely not (even so kagami tried to make them a couple in catastrophe so bad, like it was the most beautiful and innocent love, when actually their interection is not more than toxic, unhealthy and extremely manipulative something that love or care shouldn’t be, that is not love, not all end always good, but this kind of interaction end hurt, disgraceful and deathly not even with all about her demon's possession to make her look like a victim could make this a good romantic love, bcs is not something that stop them to have a relationship) There wasn't never love at all in mahiru's part and guren's part. Their relationship was built upon manipulation from mahiru'part.
Guren was just an innocent sweet child that doesn't know anything about life and I can't blame him for not being able to see that is bad and cruel people out there in the world,he has (and have) an innocent and sweet heart, he is ignorant about so many things, even about manipulation, vengeance, abuse, and control and he just know his people and even he is training try to have a normal life, even so that he is being educated in an exaggerated and unhealthy way, as the next head of the family would be and carrying on his shoulders responsibilities that a child of his age should not, and is not wrong for him to train, but not to make him assume so much responsibility for people's lives and that is something that Mahiru used to her advantage to force him to protect her, in other words she exploited everything what she saw in guren as a child for her needs. Mahiru, was a vengeful girl who knew what she wanted and what she was doing, she is not a cute or innocent girl. Maybe some people see their interection since child like cute, innocent and sweet but is not the case. She knew that the Ichinose family would pay for her actions, even so she did not care and her actions are selfish one, something a child shouldn’t  know about that. But she knew her family was following her if not, why she would go there in the first place? she get free will when they go look for her and she already know guren would cover her up and they would be hurt and still she did not care and does nothing that manipulate and use guren at her will.
Mahiru does nothing but build guren's mind on manipulation since 5.
Manipulative, narcissistic since 5.
1: "lives is a fantasy world which may include, flirting, affairs and dream of unlimited success and will lie and distort facts and change events to suit their one agenda"
Vol 6 manipulation facts: “Rather serious wounds. Are you being bullied?”“Then why did you suffer such serious injuries?”“What kind of training?”“Eh. Then Guren must be strong.”If I say that I am the fairy of this forest, what are you going to do?”“I have no parents.”“If you want me to tell you. Come here at this time to bath again tomorrow. Then you will be able to see me again.”“Have you ever despised training?”“Has Guren been in a relationship before? Do you have a girl you like or something like this?”“What kind of boy do you want to grow up to be?”“What happens if you become strong?”
2: And here start a classic manipulative behavior. manipulator “(makes) a small request that you agree to, which is followed by the real request. It’s harder to say no, because you’ve already said yes…Now it’s all about them and their complaints, and you’re on the defense.”
“Everything?! If so, then if I ask you to bring some cake here, can you do it?”“You can’t do anything right?”“Then let’s have it next time. Remember to prepare it, Guren.”“Eh, you want a girl to prepare it?”“Furthermore, Guren will definitely become strong one day and get a cake for me right?”“Then I’ll wait until Guren becomes strong.”“That’s okay. But you must let me become a cute bride.”“Guren’s cute bride. I want to be someone like this in the future.”“Is it because you think that that might make me happy?”“I love most.”“I love Guren.”“Must there be a reason for our encounter?”“Never mind. I have already checked that there is no one here. Also, even if I am being found, Guren will become strong and protect me right?”“Hmm. Yeah. Because talking with the child of trash Ichinose House, must be the thing father despise most. However……”“However, things did not progress as smoothly. Because the child of the Ichinose House is too cute, I accidentally fell in love.”“After we become adults……that, we, can we marry?”“Like how we are now. Can we be together forever?
3:THEY WEAKEN YOUR SELF-CONFIDENCE: “Emotional manipulators seek out the vulnerabilities of people in order to exploit them. In fact, they may consciously or unconsciously create relationships with people who are the most vulnerable and willing to be controlled"
Even guren in this chapter feel he have some sense of self-worth, he believe he is strong and he is doing it for his people, he didn't give a crap about hiragi's issue toward them, but that didn't last because she put in his brain that little worth must be to protect her and save her, She destroyed his little self worth and built a new one, about not being strong enough to protect her and stay with her. She over flatter him in a way that is not seen sincere and actually it wasn’t bcs she went there with darkness porpuse. She was manipulating guren and others to get her way. That's why guren think he love her (In fact, Guren was never able to know or understand what he really felt for her, because he just have doubts and question himself about what ties him to her all the time). Because she was broken him down and built him back up to believe it. It wasn't an accident. And yeah people can say nothing of this is like that and is exaggerate bcs she was a child, but a child don't do this to other people, she knew everything she was doing, everything.
Grow up guren and more facts upon her manipulation, control and abuse.
4:"Guilty trips to control, expert at using Passive aggressive behavior to hurt, bullying, arrogant, acts superior to people close to them, anger, violence, abuse, use guilt, charm, hope, love, obligation, fear or confusion to get what they want"
Vol 2: “Enough of that. Keep quiet” tinge of anger colored her voice.(this is control and not a nice way to treat guren by the way and get angry with a person for no reason is not be good).“And a thug like you has learned how to flatter people?”( thug? For real? since when guren is a thug to her? when  she saw guren like that? that is not even being nice or treat a person how should be treat)
And here cames sayuri's part in by the way she was observing the situation and "helps" when guren try to stop the massacre that sheishiro was doing to her. She doesn't care about sayuri at all bcs she could stop it before but after guren show up she doesn’t move a finger to help her, so  she used that opportunity to make feel guren worthless."With your power, you won’t win against Seishirou. If you go, you’ll be murdered.”(drown him down, this is not care) “Don’t tell me you intend to murder someone here?”( didn't she do that? how much hypocrisy can be show in her words?) “Here, your attendant.”( treat sayuri like trash bcs is the way she see people and is true and throw sayuri at guren as an object that is worth nothing). “I hate getting apologies from you. Especially, from the you who is always weak and cannot protect a girl…” ( guilty trips and treat a person like worthless crap, the worst thing is that she says it in front of everyone else, humiliating him, punishing him as if he was absolutely worthless, and as if guren owed something to her, like blaming him for not protect her when she was a child, bcs this words are to herself not from sayuri or other girl. what make her diferent from her family when she is too pride of herself and even is worse than anybody on that school).
Guren was trying to live his life but this get worse upon more and more about a possessive, obsessive and manipulative interection. You don't drown down people you love and humiliate him like he doesn't worth anything. She is false, her kindness is false and is hipocrite with people around her and that is a fact. A healthy relationship doesn't drag you down it inspires you to be better. It support you and guren is not her property and he owes nothing to her.
“Because Mahiru-san is your lover, is she not?”But Guren laughed in response.“I’m not stupid enough to make a woman I haven’t seen in ten years my lover.” “Ahaha, I see.” “Exactly.” “But there’s still an attachment, no?” “No.” “No no, there is. The fact that your power—is at a much higher level for someone your age, is all because to rescue Mahiru-san from the Hiiragi House……”“I already said there isn't”“ Mahiru-san said that she still likes you. She wanted to be together with you. She said to achieve this, she was willing to do anything, even betray her own family.”“It doesn’t matter. You seem to have misunderstood, I didn’t become strong because of her……”
First than anything she is no one to obligated a person to stay with her or love her, that is not more than being a controlling and a psycho person. Saito is already saying she wants to achieve this, be the most powerful, even if that means kills many people on the ways like if they weren’t exist in the first place, bcs she is the one that is suffering so much, and those people out there are worthless objects.
Guren, after no seeing her for ten years still have some sense of self-worth, and honestly he thinks that met her was just a childhood thing and was an ignorant, can we see guren was an innocent child? he even think if he was capatable to defeat her, but met her again, make guren feel worthless bcs of her control and manipulation towards him. If guren did not feel that he was self-worth, even a little, why hide his power? He himself knows he is strong, he analyzes the attack patterns of the others, he is smart on his own right. But according to mahiru, nothing that what you are or obtain on your own merit is useful, power is obtained by committing atrocities, which makes guren feel useless, someone who has no value not only as a person but also as a human being, mahiru does nothing but abuse and destroy other people morally, psychologically, emotionally and physically to achieve her goals.
Can you see the difference between guren without her and guren close to her?
She wear him down his self-esteem and undermine his mental health and she's been doing it since kids, when guren is close to her, even since child, one can see, she bit chips away he's self-esteem and there is when he begin to doubt his perceptions and reality. Guren always feel wounded, frustrated, confused, misunderstood, depressed, anxious, or worthless any time he interact with her and that is no more than being emotionally abuse. And all of this start in their first meet, everybody forget that guren start to feel weak when he couldn’t protect her? (and even having 24 still thinks that he was weak for that reason? and that wasn’t more than mental abuse from her. When actually she was strong and have more free that what she was saying?) Guren with the real people he loves is mentally healthy, smiles, trust, care about the world and has fun, if we believe that his relationship with mahiru from child made guren happy, is wrong, because it caused pain and problems to his family and him, and did nothing but break him down, emotionally and physically, and mahiru did nothing but brainwashed him that he would marry her. Even when Guren grew up, he saw again that the power he seek and wanted was to protect his family. For the first time in his life, he finds value, ideals and belief about friendship, loving and protecting his loved ones, by will, beyond what was instilled in him since he was a child, he does it because he loves them because they support him and they see in him the real guren and not the guren that mahiru wants to force to be, that's not love, guren has no responsibility for mahiru, she forces him to have it because she brainwashed him that that's his responsibility towards her. Guren believe he is a damn rat and all of that is cause for her, bcs he didn’t see himself like that when was a child, but who forced him to feel worthlless? Can you see the difference about guren living in reality with his beloved ones and fantasy with her?
She was telling to saito since child she just want one thing, guren, and like she is a hiragi she could have whatever she wanted, even if that means make guren surrender to her bcs she see him like her property not as a person. Can you see that this was never about shinoa? She wanted to be a queen is other hiragi more, hungry power and have whatever she wanted no matter what, so if she has to eliminate every person guren could love, then why not, and make guren to do it better to her.  Puppy guren is what she see on him. She is not capable of having things without forcing them, she has to take it, and if it is not as she wants, she tortures, manipulates, destroys or kills.
“Don’t say such cruel things.”“So powerful…… You’ve really become stronger, Guren. Was it because of me?”“No.”“Ah, no?”“Aah, no. Don’t make me repeat myself.”Mahiru was not pleased and bit her lip. Guren had seen this expression before. When they were younger, he had seen it on several occasions. Mahiru had always asked if Guren liked her, and when he had always evaded her questions, she would have that expression on her face. “Really……? The reason why I became stronger was because I wanted to be with Guren.”“Fu, fufu…… Once you have the power, it becomes very enjoyable. Isn’t that how you feel, Guren? To let your body become so strong like now you have to be completely immersed in it.”“But the physical body has a limit. I can’t reach a higher level with this. “I guess I can say that it’s almost done. But, Guren. Even with just this, I’m already undefeatable, right?”“Ah, aren’t you being a bit hypocritical? As if you have never made any similar sacrifices…… You have got to be kidding? In order to get this strong, I think you must have also given up something.”“Wasn’t this what we agreed to that day? Under the blue sky, on the green grass. How can you protect something if you don’t have power? Even the people you care about, you cannot protect. Even the important things, you cannot protect. That’s why you need power. Me too, you too…… Right, Guren?”“Why don’t you come with me? If you do, you can also become this powerful. With me together, to make this power complete…… To make it…… complete.”Don’t… don’t come here, Guren. I’m already…… I’m already swallowed by the…… «Kiju». It, it was a failure…… I, I’m already, not…… shut up, shut up! I’m not swallowed up yet! I still have a lot more power…… A whole lot more power……”“I really like you.”“I’m going to ask you again, Guren. Do you want to come together with me?”Guren replied. “No.”“You will gain more power.”“Not interested.”“Ahaha. It looks like Guren really hates me now.”She sounded a little sad. However, Guren replied,“That’s not the problem. The power I seek is not the same as yours.”“Really?”“Really.”“Alright…… But when did we become this different?”“I like you, Guren.”She said.“This is my true feeling. So, I will always wait…… always wait for the day you need me again.”
To her, people are not more than trash that killing each others, but she has the right to killed them? And that is not bad at all? So that make her innocent, victim and a saviour? There is no need to sacrifice people, to become strong, guren is right, she seeks power to dominate, to control, to be on top, guren does not seek that, and for mahiru, her mind does not reach more than seeking power through diabolical things and atrocities. And if there is something that she loves, it is that power that she uses while committing atrocities. And why guren should be the hypocrite here?, if he has become strong without going that far, in fact he is stronger and smarter than anyone in that school, even more than the jujo, goshi and sangu, and he has shown it.
She used her love bombing towards guren can we talk here that mahiru already knows what she wanted, that her goal, was guren, no save the damn world, and yes i know she is possess (but even so she still is her true self and she doesn’t change since child, bcs still is manipulative, controller, egoist, selfish and does not support that others go against her will) and she knows what the hell she is doing and saying, she is aware of everything and doesn’t feel a damn remorse about all of that and people is gonna say, demons use her desire, etc, but her desire is power, nothing more and how manipulate guren about her demon’s issue. Can we talk here how she uses her demons possession to make guren feel pity towards her, can you see her clear manipulation on how she acusses of doing things guren is not doing\things she is doing and how she think guren and her were equals and how he didn’t give a crap about her. She wasn’t capatable to understand and know guren a little. She pleading, begging and repeating something over and over until he wear down. Crying, acting dependant, despondent, sulking and withdrawing. Lack sympathy for others, especially those she exploit (guren) she is not looking to love him, she is looking to control him.
mahiru met guren since 5 and after 10 years she used love bombing that is when someone overwhelms another with attention, flattery and adoration. Is yet another manipulation tactic used by narcissist’s. While there are many reasons behind why a narcissist love bombs, those reasons are typically selfish ones. It’s used by someone to receive a certain result from another person. Whether it’s control or receiving adoration back there are many reasons someone love bombs. Are a false illusion by someone who (most likely) has not fallen in love. It is a form of manipulation and once she feels you are “easily controllable,” the love bombs disappear and emotional abuse sets in and can be used as a way of “trapping” or “buttering someone up” to convince them to be in a relationship. Then once their in a relationship, narcissistic abuse sets in.
Their interaction wasnt a met between two innocent childs was plan and research about a little boy, they relationship start from hurt other people and was more interaction than relationship bcs they don’t know  each other, not from child and less from teenagers. He force himself to love her by her look, godness, fairy, most beautiful girl and the most victim from everybody. Is not more than a fantasy bond what guren had for her. She love him for his strength, for being strong. because if it wasn’t for that she would lost interest in him. There wasn't any sincere action from her towards guren, not even since child. Their interaction (not even relationship, bcs never was one in the firt place) Start: greedy Progress: lust End: pain

a bit unusual, but sfw 7, 8 and 15 for (domestic dysfunctional) seisub!
Domestic dysfunctional seisub my beloved 💕 summer edition cuz they went to the beach and ensued everyone gets free psychological damage there
7 - would they go to the beach?
Finally, a place where Seishirou doesn't stick out like a sore thumb with sunglasses. Just he better not show up in suit
It absolutely wouldn't be Subaru's idea meaning Seishirou, another social recluse, would have to have reasons for wanting to go to the beach. Maybe it's just too hot and AC isn't doing it anymore, maybe he just wants to see Subaru in swimming trunks and be creepy touchy with him in the sand. Either way, if Seishirou says they're going then they're going and getting sunburned
This all must end with Subaru returning to their spot on beach only to see Seishirou befriended some kids there and is helping them build a sand castle. He'd either think he got sunstroke and is hallucinating or walk straight into see and never return, no in between.
8 - would they know how to swim? Who doesn't?
I imagine learning how to swim was a part of their omnyodo training
15 - vacation ideas: who decides them? Where do they go, if anywhere?
Subaru doesn't strike me as type to care about vacations at all, he'd rather rot in his room all day dissociating with cigarette in hand while staring at the wall. So it must be Seishirou who suggests (read: commands) they go on a vacation somewhere. He'll be so picky about picking a best resort to stay whereas Subaru would be anything is fine type of tourist. In the end Seishirou would find some overtop pricey room in hot springs with private onseen... for reasons. Subaru enjoyed the experience immensely and never complained about Seishirou taking 2 weeks to pick a place to stay suitable to his taste.

I'm aware TB 1999 CD drama isn't canon per se, but concept of Subaru having an assistant is sort of appealing to me for two reasons: Subaru having someone to talk to, even if keeping on emotional distance and Seishirou being jealous (but in denial) that someone has 'taken his place'.
Ofc nothing of that sort would happen between Subaru and whoever Sumeragi clan appointed to drive him around and help maintain schedule but it's not precisely 'Subaru-kun might hook up with other man' sort of jealousy. It's more bitter amusement that Subaru has someone in life performing similar duties he once did; that he was 'replaced'. Ofc that's far from truth and Subaru never opened up to his assistant but Seishirou doesn't necessarily know that; plus this is point of story where Subaru is still in denial he wants to kill Seishirou.
For a man that allegedly has no emotions and doesn't care one bit it sure would be amusing to witness his mental gymnastic when he sees other man regularly by Subaru's side

Would you consider Subaru a Broken Bird, especially considering what Seishirou did to him?
Broken wing syndrome, also known as broken bird syndrome:
The persistent need to help those that are damaged or broken ("broken wings" - unable to "fly" on their own), whether they asked for it or not; attraction towards exclusively those that are "broken"
Strangely, I think such description is more fitting for TB!Subaru than X one.
During TB Subaru always tried to help others, even at own expense. He felt others' pain to that point where he felt bad if he was unable to help others. It's possible that in process he neglected own emotional needs and focused on other people; but also that he was running away from emptiness, issues and insecurities he had about himself via focusing on other people. And we all know how little self awareness TB Subaru had and how emotionally fragile he was.
However, people with broken bird syndrome get in close relationships with 'broken birds' - something that Subaru never did. He interacted with those deeply troubled individuals but never formed a longer term bond with them. So that's why I wouldn't say he completely fits the definition. What's also interesting is that in close relationships Subaru did have he was the closer one to being a 'broken bird'. Hokuto genuinely wanted to help him realize who he is and what he wants (and be selfish for once in life and put himself first) and Seishirou also helped here and there for self-serving reasons. That only serves as another point that whilst Subaru was trying to help and heal others in every way he could he was also somewhat 'broken'.
Now, post TB there are two points of view:
Subaru helping a 'broken bird' - I wouldn't label his relationship with Kamui like this. Because they bonded over shared trauma and neither has upper ground over the other (save for respect Kamui has for Subaru which at times holds him back from expressing genuine opinions). Also Subaru isn't bent on 'fixing' Kamui, just offers him advice based on relatability from time to time; those advices are often maladjusted and questionable given Subaru's mental state but he means well. Similarly after TB ending he doesn't get too emotionally involved into work cases anymore; not to say he isn't kind and doesn't empathize just all the pain and hardships Subaru experienced numbed him.
Subaru being the 'broken bird' in relationship with someone else - this wouldn't be happening for several reasons. First thing first, Subaru doesn't believe he deserves 'healing'. His depression and survivor's guilt is that bad. If someone showed genuine interest in helping him he'd run away before that person can even finish the sentence (see how in X he always changed the topic from his problems to Kamui's when having deeper conversations with Kamui). Secondly, he's still obsessing over Seishirou, so I doubt Subaru would be able to fall in love with someone else so easily.
If in some scenario Subaru ended up with Seishirou again of course he wouldn't let Seishirou play the 'helper' role (in case Seishirou wanted to 'fix' him for own sick pleasure or just to break Subaru again); he'd be allergic to any fake display of consideration or kindness out of Seishirou. I think this part is pretty obvious so moving on.
All in all, I'd say Subaru might have been closer to developing Broken bird syndrome if he actually never crossed paths with Seishirou. Because trauma he underwent isn't something Subaru can simply push into unconsciousness like he did during TB with all his insecurities and issues (which were far smaller). Hence in that AU he might have formed a codependent relationship with someone with more obvious issues and tried to 'fix' that person and at same time fill the emptiness inside of himself. Because emptiness he would feel in that scenario would be far less intense and present than one in TB/X, therefore Subaru might not be aware of it for years and years.
Post TB Subaru started becoming more self aware of things about himself; as well as less selfless. I doubt he'd see himself as someone who still can help others on emotional level. Subaru doesn't believe he deserves an outlet for all pain he collected inside himself over years; by forming a broken bird bond he'd be distancing himself from own hardships via focusing on someone's else. I don't think he'd permit himself that 'luxury'

e, n, v.
I think I did N in one of prev answers so other two:
E - have you added anything cracky/ hilarious to your fandom?
I still have my crack theory that swords Fuuma and Kamui use in battles are symbolism for unprotected sword battling under sheets in bedroom. And also:
Tumblr media
Yea Clamp you weren't subtle. Fuuma you gonna end up killing someone with that thing
Also I think I added to trc/x fandom that Kamui is actually a kinky little repressed kitten but? that's not rly a headcanon? I mean just look at him, masochism overload.
Also I think both of us contributed to Seishirou's shoulder pads crack fact theory (idk if it was in fandom before? I guess it was?); we need to dig up those crack posts
V - which character do you relate the most?
Out of clamp characters? Damn this one is hard bc all of them are far too emotional and dramatic for me to relate to any of them; but on other hand even someone as stoic as Doumeki isn't relatable to me bc of blank affect (?). Also how fast characters connect and open one to one another is mindboggling to me. Biggest plot twist to me in MKR was how Hikari fell for Eagle instantly?? Like girl how??? I'll never understand...
So I guess those are moments when worst man alive start being relatable.... yea, him.
Because, how do I say it? I do care about people but they hardly ever do interest me? I have two deeper platonic bonds from years before but beside that I mostly form very shallow bonds with people; emotional connection is something that's ??? to me because I simply cannot open up to people. I guess deep down I do see relationships as prisons and need for emotional connection as flaw (always need for self sufficiency). I genuinely can't recall if I ever missed someone. And there are buncha emotion related things I can only understand on cognitive level, like romantic attraction or falling in love. There were few times when some people tried to know me better really fast and my inner self defense mechanisms kicked in and I got so uncomfortable I avoided them like plague. Displays of intense emotions from others do tend to make me uncomfortable so I gradually start distancing myself from that situation/person.
During my childhood I've always been described as cold and emotionless, even got called a buncha names (like monster or child with defect) by own relatives to the boot - but I did have emotions (otherwise their words wouldn't have affected me), just self taught myself to neither express them nor be aware of their presence. Yea, it's completely possible to feel something and be completely unaware of it. I remember one time (I was 16ish I think) i was out with friend and ran into relative; chitchated a min or two and later on friends was 'wow you rly hate that person' based on what she saw. Which was a puzzlement to me, bc I didn't hate that relative, at least not that I knew at that time.
Basically only way I could deal with emotions was to "think" them, not "feel" them; intellectualization my beloved. However during social interactions I was constantly on a survey, collecting data how "I'm supposed" to act in order to be "normal" - and that's where more problems kicked in, I had no clue of what I "felt" was genuine emotion or just transaction. Long story short, my emotional regulation and self identification were at 0. I ended up in therapy and it honestly helped me to great degree, especially with understanding my own emotions and identifying them, but I'm still emotionally detached from my own self and people around me. Therapists told me it's intense form of maladjusted self protection :<
There are times when I do wonder how it'll be like to have close emotional bond with someone, but I'm very bad at handling them so cons far outweigh the pros pretty fast
