New Psychonauts oc just dropped fam
I'm about to show yalls the most f*cked up guy I've ever created
Tumblr media
"Ah, Mr. Aquato. I'm glad you could make it. I've been waiting for a chance to Break Your Mind."
SO this is Tony Bridger 😬👍 that one absolutely irredeemable scumbag OC I've vaguely talked about. I guess I should get into his morals 'n backstory and yadda yadda yadda yadda
Basically, his Father created a machine that could send brainwaves or something like that, to control people. It was his life's work. Of course this was no good, so the Psychonauts were sent in to stop him. It was Sasha Nein himself in fact, who destroyed the machine. They never caught Mr. Bridger, as he took the young Tony and they went off the grid.
After his greatest invention was destroyed, the blueprints and notes all gone, Mr. Bridger went insane. It broke him, and he fell into madness. Tony tried his best to help the broken shambles of a man he knew as his father, but the poor kid was to young to be able to do anything.
Eventually, Mr. Bridger killed himself accidentally. He had stumbled onto some train tracks, got knocked out, and then a train came and ran over his unconscious body. The only family Tony had, which was already broken, was now gone. As if the insanity was infectious, Tony's mind seemed to break as well.
Its was those Psychonauts fault! It was that Agents fault! If they hadn't intervened, he'd still have a father. He didn't care if he took over the world, burned it to the ground. The only man he had to take care of him was gone, and it was all their fault.
So Tony's next plan, was to take action on how to help himself cope. In the worst. Way. Imaginable.
Since the age 14 he's been perfecting this twisted method. He somehow manged how to astrally project someone without a Psy-portal or a Brain Tumbler, and pull them into his mind. This is where the fun stuff starts
As if he's been working on it months, he's able to dig around your subconscious, find people you love, hate, respect, it doesn't matter, and twist and deform them into monsters to torment and torture you. He can create mental constructs in a matter of seconds somehow, with puzzles and monster so insane and so vile, any person who he drags into his mind...
Goes Mad.
When he was 20, he was discovered practicing this disgusting and ominous way of torment, and was thrown into one of the biggest prisons/insane asylum for Psychics ever. That thing, around his neck, is basically a psy-lock, but more powerful, and it gives you the nastiest shock anytime you try to use your powers.
He's not very worried about his position, however. In fact, he's actually quite happy he was thrown in there. Why, you may ask? Because this means he closer to the top agents. The ones who ruined his life in the first place.
Sasha, Milla, Coach, Lili and Raz have to go and try to find a way removed Tony's Brain from his body to be sedated, without having anything bad go wrong, but of course, bad things do, in fact, go wrong.
Because how do you get revenge on the very Agent who broke the one you cared most about?
By breaking one of the people they care about most as well, of course!
Oh yeah, the angst is strong with this one *rubs hands together deviously*
Yeah, I wanna try and make a fic or somthing with this guy soon. It'll be fun! Angsty, graphic, depressing and violent fun~
Sorry for the long post btw I've just been thinking about this guy's backstory a lot. Trying to make him sound evil, but with an actual reason to be

hello 🖤 out of curiosity what kind of stuff do you consider dark? because i want to write dark stuff for steddie but don’t want backlash. i wonder if what I consider dark is too much, but to know there was an audience for certain things would really help me to go for it. ( for example i love age gaps and want to do 30-40 year old Eddie with teen Steve: dad/babysitter, rockstar/groupie, motorcycle daddy/runaway, teacher/student [dare i say stepfather/stepson sksksk] etc. but have received crit for like, 2 year difference ) and i wonder if it’s the content itself or how it’s handled? because when people write age difference/incest without highlighting how creepy the older one feels it doesn’t *feel* dark if that makes sense. (your eddie is clearly aware of what he is so there’s dark energy to it) but maybe im wrong. i would genuinely love to hear your thoughts. 🖤🖤
hi there!! oh this is such an interesting question, thank you so much.
So what do I consider dark? It's difficult in a way because everyone has different thresholds and comfort levels when it comes to fic, I have a very high threshold and not many triggers. For me, dark fic that I'm interested in reading and writing includes dysfunctional, destructive relationships where there's obsession, jealousy, codependency and control at play, but where both people like it, and don't want to change or have a healthier dynamic or set firmer boundaries. Sometimes I like reading fic about relationships that are abusive and I enjoy reading and writing fic where there's dubious consent (or even non-con) and BDSM relationships where there isn't good etiquette and where there aren't standard things like safewords. Like I love when the sub belongs to the Dom and the Dom calls all the shots and says they know what their sub needs. It's not how relationships should be irl of course, but it's all fantasy.
I love age difference fics too! I would love to write a fic with teen Steve where Eddie's in his 30s, I think that would be so wrong and hot. Like I love all the things and dynamics you've mentioned in your ask! And I think it's such a shame that people feel too frightened to write dark fic a lot of the time, or that they've been made to feel gross and weird for wanting to explore dark and more complex dynamics. Or even just enjoy things without feeling judged for it. So I'm sorry that you want to write fics like this but feel like you can't because of potential backlash. And I wish I could advise more on what things could cause backlash and what won't, because in the past I've had so much hate and abuse for things I've written but in this fandom I've had hardly any abuse at all, so it's really hard to quantify.
I would say this, completely genuinely, that I think you should write whatever you want because you shouldn't have to censor yourself or repress what you want to write. I can guarantee there will always be an audience for it, and people who will be so excited to read darker fic and dynamics. It might be a smaller audience, but it'll be very enthusiastic, and that'll make it completely worth it. If you want to be cautious too, you could have an ao3 account that's separate to your main account to post dark fic, or you could moderate comments. And if you do get shitty people, ignore them and delete any abuse you get. I've found in the past that it's when I give people air and try to engage with them that they get worse. But when I completely ignore them, they get starved of oxygen and give up. And usually if people say anything, it's just a small group of nasty people too, it'll never be as many people as you fear it could be.
There's also the chance that no one will say anything mean and people will love your fics! And if you feel passionately about your ideas, you should go for it! I'm on the cusp of posting a fic that's pretty dark, where intoxicated Steve is being used by multiple men for sex at a party, and the fic I'm writing with Azriel is probably the darkest fic in this fandom, it explores so many uncomfortable topics and will be so dead dove. And because of that we except it to have a smaller readership than a lot of other fics, but we also know the small group of people who do read it will love it, and that makes it so worth it. Plus it's so freeing to finally write a dark fic without feeling like I have to restrain myself, so you should feel free to do it too.
So please, I hope this has helped and encouraged you, even a little. And if you do write any of these fic ideas, let me know because I'd love to read them!!! <3

Weekend WIP Game
Rules: List your WIPs below (if you only write one fic at a time, feel free to include future WIPs/ideas!) then answer the following questions. Then, tag as many people as you have WIPs (or more).
Tagged by the lovely and talented @welcometololaland @jesuisici33 @wikiangela @daffi-990 @thewolvesof1998 @pirrusstuff @your-catfish-friend Thank you friends 😘
1. WIP List:
Honey when you call my name (Buddie)
you’re where I wanna go (Buddie)
The darkest fairytale (Buddie)
come close (let me be home) (Buddie)
run to the water (and find me there) (Buddie)
With my heart in my lap (Twylexis)
If you like Fashion & Baseball (David/Patrick)
I light the match to taste the heat (Buddie)
printer!Buck (buddie)
Untitled (original work)
2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?
you're where I wanna go at 18.7k and no end in sight
3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?
Excellent question. I honestly don't know between you're where I wanna go, with my heart in my lap and the original work. Two of them are historical AUs with separated lovers so.... could be a bit
4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?
TBH whichever one is giving me the least trouble lol Although I've been excited for you're where I wanna go for a really long time (it's over a year in the making) so probably that one. I love researching the details and really leaning into the feels.
5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?
The Darkest Fairytale because it involves magical elements and I've never written anything like that before.
6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?
The Darkest Fairytale for the reasons listed above but also the original work. I plan on putting that one out as my first book (!) and that's scary AF.
7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why? All of them. Unless I'm doing a super quick prompt I get at least one other person to beta read all my stuff. Extra eyeballs is never a bad thing.
8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block? Of course! So I bounce around to whatever's working for me. And if they're all being stubborn I take that as a sign to rest a bit (even if it's frustrating as hell).
9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them? Hmmmm, I'm not really sure yet. Of course the original work will be 100% OCs so I guess that one. They don't have names yet, or even that many details. The main character is a recently single woman who has always been attached in some way. So she finally has this chance to figure out what she likes and have a bit of fun. And then she meets a younger woman, they have fun together and it starts to turn into more than just a good time. Our MC gets spooked because she doesn't think she's ready or capable of doing that again just yet. Anway, I think they'll be an interesting dynamic to explore.
10. Which WIP is the sexiest? Honey when you call my name or I light the match. I guess it depends on your definition of sexy? The former explores Buddie after Eddie witnesses the Buck/Lucy kiss in 5x11. The latter explores Buck having a day he needs to get out of his head and Eddie knowing just how to handle that 😉
11. Which WIP is the angstiest? I think you're where I wanna go or with my heart in my lap for different but kinda similar reasons. In both cases the lovers are separated for years and having to deal with that in their own way as they continue to live their lives without their other half.
12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)? Maybe just because I'm so partial to it but I'm going to say you're where I wanna go. Also because I'll get to explore the personalities of familiar characters across decades of their lives.
13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)? So far come close (let me be home) since it's seen the characters in more detailed locations so far. But honestly I think it'll be a toss up between this one, you're where I wanna go, and with my heart in my lap.
14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on? Any of the historical AUs. I need to know that I'm representing the time periods accurately. Even if no one else knows I'll know and it will bother me.
15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why? I'm going to guess the smutty ones because they tend to do best generally. I'll want all of them to do well but it will hurt more for the historical ones if they don't. Mostly because I'm most passionate about them and will want everyone to be as excited as I am 🙃
16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs? Not yet.
17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't? run to the water and the darkest fairytale have the magical elements that I'm not as familiar with. Printer!Buck is going to require a ton of research around old school printing techniques as well.
18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour? None of them are particularly humorous but maybe come close (let me be home). It's a Bridgerton AU so there will be a lot of sniping and antagonizing between Buck and Eddie. And Chim will be a heavily featured character so you know he always brings the jokes to any piece.
19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process? Not so far, and I'm not sure if I'll explore that at all.
20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs. run to the water (and find me there) started as a 'message in a bottle' prompt that was just supposed to be a quick little thing. As I was writing my brain said hey, what if Buck was a merperson??? and it's growing to be a whole lot more (because of course it is).
no pressure tagging @shortsighted-owl @eddiebabygirldiaz @stereopticons @giddyupbuck @disasterbuckdiaz @forthewolves @watchyourbuck @ladydorian05 @buddierights @heartshapedvows and anyone else I regularly tag/who wants to play

Fic Author Recommendations
When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you’ve written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love.
Tagged by @possumteeths 💖
Sooo I definitely jumped into this thinking it was a "hype works from your fellow authors" kind of thing only to realize it's asking you to hype your own work lololol. I've been having low confidence/general weird feels about my writing lately, so maybe it'll help to look at my works with love instead of constant scrutiny for once 😅
Vox Spiritus
MY DEAREST CHILD ❤️ I love this one because it's been SO MUCH fun to think about and write, and I really like the AU I've created. It's also my first longfic, so I've gotten to start learning about character arcs, relationship arcs, plotting, etc. And getting to write so many different voices/povs for the first time has been a blast!
Twenty-One Seconds
This is probably my most ambitious work besides Vox Spiritus. It's a Shakarian take on A Christmas Carol, and trying to fit a holiday fic into that structure was so daunting! But I think I pulled it off ok, and that it's a really moving piece with lots of angst ending in a joyful (but still tear-jerking) resolution. And my giftees loved it, so I love it <3
Moon in Your Mouth
Shakarian fic in a post-Synthesis setting where Garrus is struggling to heal from Shepard's death. It's one of my favorites because it's probably the saddest thing I've ever written, and I legit was on my couch ugly-crying writing the end of it. It was the first time I'd written something that drew that much emotion out of me, and I think that's pretty special. Sometimes I go back and re-read it to see if it still makes me cry, and so far I'm batting 100 😂
Agony of Creation
I just really like the figurative writing in this one. It was my first time writing Morinth, and while it's a little over the top and purple in some places, I think there are some nice bits of language in it.
The Becoming
Ok, this is the darkest shit I've ever written, and I legit love it. A few cool "firsts" in this one: my first fic to venture outside of Shakarian, my first OCs, and my first attempt at writing body horror. I'm still really pleased with how it turned out.
Tagging @dispatchwithlove @angry-jager @otemporanerys @misseffect
And anyone else who'd like to play!

Well since you asked so nicely, 1-40 on the writer ask. 😉
LOL
1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that just the default setting? I write in 14pt Nunito. I do actually care, this font helps with my vision. I am v blind.
2. If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil? Yeah, I definitely could. I used to hand write full composition books in middle school/high school with a novels i was writing. Pen in black ink, edit in blue ink.
3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed? Depends. Am I writing fanfic? Check my prompt, double check my prompt, get a ginger ale and some Game Grumps in the background.
4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral? Staccato, stochastic, ephemeral, effervescent, phantasmagoria.
5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true? I don't, really, now that I think about it.
6. What is your darkest fear about writing? That no one will read my writing, and it'll be forgotten.
7. What is your deepest joy about writing? That people read my writing, and it lives on.
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go? I would choose no dialogue, easy. I've written SO MANY fics without dialogue. I like to show, not tell.
9. Do you believe in ghosts? This isn’t about writing I just wanna know Yes.
10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you? Yes, and yes. It's something that sticks with me and echoes in my mind.
11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve? Yes, and yes. I've killed many of my darlings. I don't have a graveyard, I have a crypt. I have a mound. I have a festering pool of children's graves. No, I do not grieve.
12. If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don’t make the rules That my hands would never get tired when I'm on a roll. I always have the spoons to sit and write. I no longer have to sleep, because I only like to write at night.
13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy? Anything about being pregnant is difficult for me to write. I have no interest in kids, or having them. Everything else is easy.
14. Do you lend your books to people? Are people scared to borrow books from you? Do you know exactly where all your “lost” books are and which specific friend from school you haven’t seen in twelve years still possesses them? Will you ever get them back? Yes I do! I don't know where my lost books are-- hopefully loved and happy somewhere. I don't want them back. If they do come back, please sign the cover for me and let me know if you liked it. Books are friends, not possessions.
15. Do you write in the margins of your books? Dog-ear your pages? Read in the bath? Why or why not? Do you judge people who do these things? Can we still be friends? Yes, yes, yes. I use a Kindle more recently, but I do read in the bath like a mad person. I write little notes and highlight and tag and fold and love. And pass on.
16. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark? Does concert ticket count? If not, probably a peanut butter cookie.
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text. No. Because it *will* make it in the text. And it's a major plot spoiler.
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end. Spicy addition: Questioner provides the passage. “I know you love him Sister but do not crucify yourself for his cause. You cannot be his Joan of Arc as well as his lover. You must choose one.”  This one will explain itself in time.
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going? I started in 2004, and rewrote the story of Diablo 1 into a storybook. After that, in 2007, I started my own novel. It's completed and rests, waiting for my agency. It's fantasy fiction.
20. If a witch offered you the choice between eternal happiness with your one true love and the ability to finally finish, perfect, and publish your dearest, darlingest, most precious WIP in exactly the way you've always imagined it — which would you choose? You can’t have both sorry, life’s a bitch I'll take the love. Writing for this fandom is more fulfilling than seeing Lorithy on shelves, I think...
21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not? Yes. Yes. That's all I'll say.
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud? Extremely. I write on a Chromebook, which autosyncs to my Google docs in the cloud. I can write on any device and as long as I have internet, it's all saved. I handwrite my story plot points in a notebook, and keep a "good lines" doc to pull from.
23. Describe the physical environment in which you write. Be as detailed as possible. Tell me what’s around you as you work. Paint me a picture. My bed is firm, but soft. I sit on a pentagram blanket with a 7 foot teddy bear against my back, propping me up slightly. On my bent upward knees, a Chromebook. To my right is my cat, snoozing softly and reaching out for a pat every so often. To my left, a can of ginger ale and my dab pen. The television is on, currently playing a 12 hour video of rain sounds against a window.
24. How much prep work do you put into your stories? What does that look like for you? Do you enjoy this part or do you just want to get on with it? A mix between absolutely none and plotted to the nth degree. Sometimes I start writing and my brain just takes over, and spills out a whole story. Others, like Of Devilish Creatures, I have plotted down to almost the dialogue beats.
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story? Lunaria is allergic to gasoline.
26. How do you get into your character’s head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place? Mm this depends. My OC is very close to myself when I was in Catholic school. I just recede back to then. When I'm writing for the Papas, I sit and talk to myself as if I were them, then I write what he says to me.
27. Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why? Papa Emeritus the First. We don't know much about him, so it's a bit difficult to stay "correct".
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why? Papa iii, he's my blorbo.
29. Where do you draw your inspiration? What do you do when the inspiration well runs dry? The sexual desires of my readers and myself. I ask others, if I'm out of ideas for a certain scene. @the-cardinale gets the brunt of this.
30. Talk to me about the role dreams play in your writing life. Have you ever used material from your dreams in your writing? Have you ever written in a dream? Did you remember it when you woke up? I don't really dream.
31. Write a short love letter to your readers. Doves, Thank you for your continued love and support. It's been a good ride.
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you? "Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth." Absolutely phenomenal word play.
33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate? Yes! I do perler beads, baking, drawing, cross stitch, and painting. They don't tie in, usually.
34. Thoughts on the Oxford comma, Go: Forsake it and die.
35. What’s your favorite writing rule to smash into smithereens? Punctuation is a suggestion; write what's in your soul-- it's all here for us to use, you see?
36. They say to Write What You Know. Setting aside for a moment the fact that this is terrible advice...what do you Know? I know death.
37. If you were to be remembered only by the words you’ve put on the page, what would future historians think of you? Mm. Contemplating this and all I'm coming up with is "great at purple prose, and porn."
38. What is something about your writing process YOU think is Really Weird? If you are comfortable, please share. If you’re not comfortable, what do you think cats say about us? I don't think I have anything really weird, actually? I hunch over like a shrimp I suppose, and my friends yell at me a lot about that.
39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up? You.
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it. How about one of mine?

What's the darkest thing you've ever written, in terms of injuries, character fates or events?
Thanks for the ask. :) Sorry it took so long to get to it.
The darkest thing I've written was probably in my first novel, "Itara: Heir of Ruin" and part 2, "Itara: Lightborn."
Mason, the MC, is tortured by the bad guy in a terrible way - with multiple small cuts, and a rag boiled in oil placed over his face. At first, I'd used water, but my friend said to make it oil. It'll burn hotter and longer. He healed quickly - which his people did - and the next time, he had his body invaded by the antagonist's power to take control of his mind. However, he fought back and turned the bad guy's hand into a crispy nougat.
The main antagonist wanted his spirit broken, not his body. Bones would heal faster, but still take longer than he wanted to wait. Enough psychological torment in conjunction with the rag broke him enough for the main antagonist to plant darkness in his heart to control him, and sent him to go kill his friends.
Before then, when he was captured, he was taken on a traumatic dragon flight, had his magic blocked, and almost froze when he tried to escape.
I still apologize to Mason for doing that to him. My boy didn't deserve that.
----
Perhaps Yune's past would be pretty dark.
He was kept in captivity all his life, trained for the sole purpose of building and repairing spaceships, lied to, gaslit, and abused via passive-aggressiveness. He never set a toe outside the tall, windowless wall surrounding the orphanage property - always being told he had to stay inside because he was too small, too breakable, and people would only use him for his skills. All he could see of the outside world was through a clear dome that would retract to let in ships and supplies. He never saw the world beyond it with is own eyes until he escaped.
He got picked up by a thieves den after surviving for a week. He got a job as a mechanic, but wasn't paid soon enough, and got caught stealing food by the thieves den. He had his name and identity taken from him through the Name Guardian Claim, given a new single syllable name with no surname, and forced to steal with other kids for an anulean - a 10' tall alien who forced all 28 kids to call her 'Mother.'
She saw human children as just above pet status, as most anuleans do. Yune was her 'favorite.' She knew what he was, knowing he had no idea, and used that to manipulate him and keep him enslaved.
He ran away from that, too, 2 years later.
Thankfully, he found his old engineering instructor who took him to a better zone on the dark side of the wall (the city is split in half by a wall. The dark side is the side that got creamed by a keth attack).
He was lied to about everything - even about being born inside the Arborly orphanage boundary wall. He has trust issues and some CPTSD, along with repressed memories from a very traumatic experience when he was 5.
----
Will and Terra's is pretty grim.
They're both kidnapped from Earth and told they can never return, or the keth will destroy it. They're later shown a recording of the keth following through with their threat.
They're both reprogrammed to erase their pasts and names to make them clean slates - which they fight against, but it takes hold. They have their DNA altered to turn them into an unknown human species. They don't know why, either.
With barely any memory of their past. or of Earth that's in fragments, The have no idea who they are now, they have to rely on Yune and Selka to help them.

So how would folks feel about some late night darkest dungeon fics?
Idk if it'll be character x character or character x reader. Or both tbh.
I've actually written one short thing based on my current playthrough about the highwayman x reader /the Vestal (idk if platonic or romantic yet they are at least partners of some kind!)
Tbh I'll probably post them eventually just for fun. But don't worry valorant requests will still be worked on

Weird questions for writers numbers, 6, 12, 20, 27, 28, 36, and 40, please?
What is your darkest fear about writing?
probably that i'll totally write a character OOC, and it'll be so insanely obvious. this was my biggest fear about my latest stranger things fic, because it's a brand new fandom to me, and i was writing about characters who are really well-loved. i do think the fic turned out good, though!
If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don’t make the rules
i want to be able to write better dialogue lmao
i want to be able to take my thoughts and have them perfectly translated into the story i want
write a story start to finish without jumping around
If a witch offered you the choice between eternal happiness with your one true love and the ability to finally finish, perfect, and publish your dearest, darlingest, most precious WIP in exactly the way you've always imagined it — which would you choose? You can’t have both sorry, life’s a bitch
given that i don't HAVE any one true loves, i'm gonna have to say the WIP
Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why?
like the first question, probably Steve Harrington, but that's literally just because he's so beloved by the stranger things fandom, and i was so scared of him maybe not acting the right way
Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
any of my ocs!!!
also i love love love writing Mikey from TMNT, he's a lil ball of sunshine and it's so much fun whenever i write dialogue for him! i haven't written anything TMNT related in forever, but i recently watched the Rise of the TMNT movie with @queen-with-the-quill, and it's given me many ideas!! i've only ever written 2012!MIkey, but Rise!Mikey has my entire heart and soul love my boy <33333
They say to Write What You Know. Setting aside for a moment the fact that this is terrible advice…what do you Know?
WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW SO THEY SAY ALL I KNOW IS I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WRITE OR THE RIGHT WAY TO WRITE IT THIS IS BIG LADY DON'T SCREW IT UP THIS IS NOT SOME LITTLE VAUDEVILLE I'M REVIEWING
apologies i was just possessed by the spirit of Katherine Plummer
i know how to write realistic sibling relationship, it's like the MAIN thing that i know how to write, because i've got a couple of siblings, and we basically cover the spectrum of sibling interactions

I'm loving your 'special' series!! Like seriously what an indulgent treat, I'm grateful someone else (more specifically, an excellent writer) can like tap into my head and figure out all the sordid little kinks I have. Do you have plans for where it'll go? What's your favorite part about writing this series? And do u have a psychic connection to my brain matter and/or have u read my diary k thank u bye
Thank you so much!! Yes I have many plans (insert evil laugh here). I've written up an outline and have a total of about 16,000 words written of scenes from all over the story, and there's still a lot left to fill in so I'm expecting it to come out as a short novel. I want them both to grow as characters and for their relationship to develop over time rather than have it just be a series of various horny interactions lol. And I'll leave it at that since I'd rather not spoil too much!
That is a tough question! The most fun thing to write would probably be dialogue between the two of them, I find it comes pretty naturally to me and it's fun to see where it goes as I write (I often surprise myself). But it's also pretty cool and rewarding to be learning how to plot and do character arcs since that's something I haven't really attempted before since I've mostly written smutty one-offs
I can neither confirm nor deny any direct psychic access to my readers' deepest darkest fantasies ;)

Writing ask game: all of them bc I’m genuinely interested!
Gabby you're a menace and I mean that with all the love in my heart
notebook: I have two regular sized notebooks, and then two half sized ones where I will occasionally still write out notes for stuff. Since I switched over to using Google docs exclusively none of my notebooks get used as much anymore
pencil: I honestly love Calibri which is the fucking default font for like Microsoft word. Which is funny because I could use that for my Google docs horde but instead I'm apparently typing in arial
paper: the living room couch is honestly the best place, I can just curl up and type my atrocities to man
docs: so I'm not exactly sure what the exact longest thing I've written is because for one story I only know the page count, but my handwriting is also huge so it would likely be far shorter if it were typed. So my two contenders for longest are Truth Is Golden, the FNAF AU I never finished writing at I believe 290 pages (or close to that) and Present Mic's Totally Bullshit Life at 54k words and a printed copy of 140-ish pages. If I ever type up Truth is Golden maybe it'll be less
nano: I have not mostly because I can't make myself write daily I'm terrible at that
computer: Google Docs, gotta say it's just super nice since I can now just infodump onto an app on my phone rather than pulling out my bag of pens and a notebook and having to make sure my handwriting doesn't look substandard to me that day
genre: I'm 90% sure that now my favorite genre to write is Hurt/Comfort and that I am just as much of a sucker for reading it as I am for writing it. Hey Gabby remember when my favorite genre to write was Action/Adventure and I was terrible at it? I've really grown as a person, now I just emotionally damage my characters
tropes: Childhood Friends to Lovers, I am just absolutely weak for that even if it's not like a main part of the story
tw: I think the darkest theme is actually a part of the character building from my matching tattoos au wip where a character has a history of suicidal thoughts and an attempted suicide.
characters: every character I make no matter the universe loves the hit Pixar franchise Cars and has nothing bad to say about it, they're all Lightning McQueen's #1 fan, I need this to be known. Okay, more seriously though, I think I accidentally dump my own personality into every character a little and I don't mean to which is why I get attached to some in particular. And if they're not like a major OC in a story, their name or personality or look is from a character in something else.
wip: so just to give myself backstory for the current chapter story that I'm very slowly working on, I started a side doc that leads up to the events in that. For anyone reading crumbled rooftops, yes, there is legally a doc out there about Shouta and Hizashi that goes from chapter 298 until the start of the story that will probably never be put out because I wanted to more firmly establish what their relationship was going through since crumbled rooftops has Oboro's perspective and he's a bit of an unreliable narrator at the moment. Gabby I'm so sorry that means nothing to you
coffee: it's the same thing I drink continuously and that is diet Dr pepper at this point my blood is probably diet Dr pepper
personal: I love to slip in hints of stuff that would be fun to write by itself. My favorite part of writing has always been having this whole expanded lore in my mind and being able to incorporate tidbits into other things. I just really love to write and it's fun to share it with people even if I don't share nearly as much as I used to.
playlist: Spotify at some point is going to fucking break into my home and beg me to please chill on the character/story specific playlists I make because I usually find stuff that fits the right sound for a character and it also fits for like three story ideas. I have so many playlists I don't listen to and the mood wildly changes with each one. I have playlists for Cars OCs I have only thought about in passing. I have playlists for stories that never got started. I have a playlist for a character that still, 2 years later, only has one song on it. I cannot be stopped.

JKXYZ fanfic
[Fanfic asks]
J- Write or describe an alternative ending to [you didn't pick one for me so I'll go with Rejoin since I did have a different ending]
This one will be answered below a cut at the end since it's got spoilers...and is stupid long and rambly
K- What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
I think my post-Bookklok WIP probably fits the bill. It'll be the first time I've put up a content warning that wasn't just smut related. Skwisgaar and Toki go to mandated therapy in the wake of the book, and things get a lot worse before they get better. Issues get stirred up that weren't expected and Toki has to consider the effects his actions have on others. I'm working very slowly on this one because there are things I want to handle delicately/do my research on, and I also don't want it to be lopsided in the direction of Toki-blaming and have to face down the pitchforks lol. I feel like I haven't really answered much here but I don't want to give a lot of detail until I nail it down better.
Also the alternate ending below the cut is pretty dang angsty, if that helps.
X- Character you enjoy making suffer
I can explain... Skwisgaar lol. Across any media, being my favorite is the equivalent of the Ralph Wiggum bus meme. It's gonna hurt.
Y- Character you want to protect
Same answer. Yes I can have it both ways.
Z- Major character death—do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can't tolerate?
Yes, yes, no. Bring it on, make me cry. I love tragedy in stories.
This is more of a ramble not a rewrite...
So in Rejoin, initially my idea of Toki and Skwisgaar's powers worked a little differently and were more in line with life/death themes. The concert plays out the same but Skwisgaar didn't succumb to his injuries, and most of the story was the unchanged til the lake scene which was much more of a contest of wills between them (think Phoenix vs. Wolverine in X3 lol). Everything else is roughly as written til they get home again.
Unbeknownst to the guys, it turned out that Toki's power to draw energies was actually him stealing life, and on the reverse side of the coin, Skwisgaar's healing capabilities came at the cost of giving up from his own health/lifeforce/whatever. Their struggle at the lake took a LOT from him and significantly shortened his lifespan. Appearance-wise he was the same but his body's age quickly accelerated to the point of feebleness. It's painful to even hold his guitar, but he knows the end is coming and is frantically recording because he "can't take the music with him." He leaves tons of unfinished tracks behind for Toki to work with before he eventually dies. Toki was already guilt-stricken over what he'd accidentally stolen, holds onto these tracks and refuses to change/finish them. Here's where I branched even further...one version of this ending is kinda sappy, Skwisgaar's "ghost" or a drunk hallucination of Toki's tells him off for never finishing the music left to him, he argues with the apparition that he can't, he's in mourning, it's too painful to even listen to them because he misses Skwisgaar so much. The apparition tells him that's why he left it for him, because as long as he has his music, he's still with him ahshdjdk yeah.
The OTHER direction it could have gone was mourning Toki descends into madness and obsesses over ways to use their god powers to undo everything, lashing out at his bandmates when they don't support his machinations. He goes full tilt Mad God, darkest timeline and essentially becomes the new BBEG.
Instead I decided they'd had enough for one story and I gave Skwisgaar a puppy 😅 but I'm toying around with a sequellllll

3:57AM
I was cleaning my room this morning and found this. It's my suicide letter from six years ago along with a blade that I used almost every day. I was fifteen or sixteen and it was probably one of the darkest days of my life (mentally). Inside the box were letters I wrote to myself whenever I'm in a verge of a mental breakdown, when I get panic attacks at school, when I can't sleep for days because my head was too loud, when I have so much hate inside me and whenever I feel like a total waste of space.
Just by looking at most of the papers, you could tell that it was written down with anger or sadness. Some were torn because I held the pen too hard, some had hints of tears that dried out, some had coffee stains from the sleepless nights, some of my penmanship came off as harsh or unforgiving, and others are kept so neatly with a thought that I wanted it to be read by someone so that they'll understand my pain; a cruel way of thinking.
The point is, that was years ago and the young and naive girl who wrote that had no idea how much more harder it'll be when she grows up. The struggles and emotions she'll encounter soon after will be a hundred times bigger.
At the time she keeps looking for ways to end it, now I'm looking for ways to pay the bills. She was there hating her self and I'm here struggling to look decent for a trip to the supermarket. She was surrounded by so many people who cared but she still felt lonely, while I try to free my schedule so that me and my only bestfriend could grab some coffee for a few hours. She wanted to get away from her parents because they could never understand, while I try to persuade my mom to cook my favorite dish even though we still fought this morning. She feels like there's so much time and she's just floating around it because she has no dreams, and here I am wasting my time trying to get some sleep because I still want to dream.
I'll never promise that girl a perfect life when she gets older, because that's just not possible. We don't always end up the way we pictured it and that's okay. I've learned to accept what I have and who I am, all while trying to be a better person as each day passes.
If she stopped there, she'll never see how beautiful and flawed this life is. It's a constant change and a turbulent flight. Some nights are peaceful while others drown in tears. Some days are productive while some are uneventful. But the good mixed with the bad brings out the beauty within this existence.
Yes, I still think of disappearing sometimes, but I'm learning not to cut myself whenever I feel like the world is against me. I'm learning to be braver, kind and honest. I'm learning to forgive myself from all the things I didn't become.
Years have passed and it's crazy how fast time came and eventually left.
To you who's reading this, I hope you're healing too. I hope you're doing better. And if all you ever did today was breathe or just getting through another day, it's okay.
You'll be okay.
