I (finally) finished concepting the siblings!!! This is Goldrake, who uses He/Him pronouns! This design for REAL gave me so much trouble. Like, the sketching and lineart process went as smooth as butter, but the coloring just HAD to give me issues. Thankfully all of that mess is over now lol

As I mentioned in the notes of an old post, Goldrake is the second youngest of his siblings and is a Decepticon troublemaker. He's snarky, and often makes jabs at authority figures even if it ends up biting him in the ass later on. He couldn't really give any less fucks if they hear him or not. In fact, he's counting on it!

Even though he's a Decepticon, he still has a soft spot for his siblings and makes exceptions for them at their requests. Especially Silverfall, whom he's always had the deepest affections and care for. If he met Karma and learned about what happened to his brother....let's just say that things would get violent frighteningly quickly. Goldrake would probably drag it out, too

He's a part of a sabotage squadron, and is frighteningly good at what he does. What can he say? Charisma can take you a long way if you use it right. Let's just say that Goldrake has had plenty of time to practice and get the skill under his belt. He could probably gaslight someone into thinking something was their fault even if there was literally no way for them to be involved.

Oh, and he's a mnemosurgeon, as a treat.

i really like my new style, but a part of my brain is telling me it doesn't really count as a style because I'm not actually drawing correctly. I don't draw out the pose or body along with the head, I just draw shoulders under the head and figure it out from there. I don't even bother making the hands look good.

Is it really art if I'm literally just shortcutting through everything?

#Kitty mumbles #I'm really flip flopping with my mood and interests lately #Might be the new meds tbh #But idk if what I'm drawing now counts as real art if I'm not putting as much effort into it #Some of my older pieces took actual days of work and frustration #This is quick and fun and I like drawing again #I like my old style too #But I would spend so much time putting it on the page that I'd lose focus halfway through and not wanna finish it #And it looked stiff and lifeless when finalized #This looks way more lively but it's clear that it's not my best work #It's really fun though #I don't know if it's real or just a doodle though

Currently obsessed with this mid-fifteenth-century Latin-German-Czech dictionary (BAV Pal. lat. 1787). Encountered it at work today while doing some work on IIIF discovery tools and was instantly enchanted. I mean, I would be, wouldn't I.

Also, the facial expressions on the illustrations are amazing. Something about the combination of the soft details and fine lines of Bohemian illumination and the O_O expressions on the figures is deeply hilarious.
