Last night there were a mass shooting at a popular queer pub in Oslo.

2 are dead, over 20 are injured.

Oslo Pride parade was canceled, but hundreds of people still showed up to march for our rights.

I saw this passage today and I have some thoughts…can we please stop erasing bisexuality in this community, it’s so disgusting and disrespectful to see people within the LGBTQ spectrum talk about bisexuality in a way that is just a concept and not a real thing. In anyway shape or form…it also shows how incredibly insecure you are to be shitting on others identifying as bisexual.

“you can only be bisexual when ur single . once ur in a relationship ur either gay or straight . spiritually speaking . the only out is if ur still fucking the same/other sex while in ur little relationship, i guess that makes u king bisexual”

As simple as this little passage might sound, it's incredibly upsetting.

This is something that is so harmful towards the bisexual community. For example, some Lesbians that are biphobic and are always perpetuating that bisexuality isn’t a thing if someone leads a heteronormative relationship project this same rhetoric. "You’re not bisexual if you haven’t had or slept with a women". Yet, who are you to tell someone else about their sexuality? I constantly see this harmful rhetoric in the LGBTQ+ community and it’s so sickening.

Let people identify themselves, let people experience and explore their sexuality themselves. Why is there a “B” in LGBTQ+…like jeez. This is also one of the biggest reasons some people are afraid to identify…an honestly I wouldn’t blame others for choosing not to identify themselves. Who would want to with this type of toxicity within the community?

But you don’t see bisexuals telling lesbians about their sexualities. Telling them they aren’t really gay.

This years Bob's Pride design is quite sentimental. Our Art Director, Phil Hayes, told me stories of his gay father, Buz Hayes, who surfed every weekend in the 60s with his queer friends at Hermosa Beach.
