Unpopular opinion, but...

It is not your role to make others happy, it is your role to keep yourself in balance. When you pay attention to how you feel and practice self-empowering thoughts that align with who you really are, you will offer an example of thriving that will be of tremendous value to those who have the benefit of observing you...

In other words, you lead, you teach, you live, motivate, and inspire by your example. Those who witness this regularly will benefit from your example, thus be empowered to create happiness in their own lives.

What's up peeps. Got my first weigh-in of the new year and the scale did not disappoint!!! I'm starting my goal of 225 in 2025 at 232 lbs. Thats 2 pounds less of my last weigh-in of 234 in September. Since 2017 when I weighed in at 276, I've dropped 34 lbs. That last graph is a pretty sight. 😁 The scale and app I use is made by Feelfit.

As you can see by the data out, you can lose weight and keep it off over time if you just take your time and do it slowly. Lifestyle changes such as severely cutting back on drinking beer and booze and getting a physically intensive job as letter carrier with the USPS have certainly helped. The proof is in the pudding. Hopefully I can get to as close to my senior year of college weight of 225 by 12/31/2025.

I should have taken a "Before" photo but...

No more invasive bushes down the side of the house! Now it'll be a lot easier to pull the vincas, rake up all that duff, and replace it with rocks or similar hard scape. Foundation plantings really have no place in fire country, when we need a clear 5 feet around the house at minimum.

Next up (probably tomorrow), the bushes in front of the house. And the only reason I didn't knock those down too right now is because there's a toddler napping in the room right behind them.

Its been a while since I've posted my weekly steps. I work in a different postal station so the walking opportunities differ from my last station.

While my legs get a workout from walking up and down hills and steps of brownstones and walk ups between Amsterdam Ave, Broadway and Riverside Drive, we get driven to our route from the station. Which means less overall steps.

But still, I try to get those steps by walking from the Bronx and Harlem and vice versa over the Madison Avenue Bridge. Gotta make those steps happen.
