Why Every Trader Should Learn Multiple Charts Pattern Analysis
Tumblr media
In the dynamic world of trading, patterns are more than just lines and shapes on a chart—they are visual representations of market psychology, a roadmap to potential price movement. For traders looking to enhance their market analysis and decision-making skills, learning Multiple Charts Pattern analysis is not just beneficial—it’s essential.
Whether you're new to trading or a seasoned market participant, understanding various chart patterns can dramatically improve your success rate. This article explores why every trader should learn Multiple Charts Pattern analysis and how this skill forms the foundation of profitable trading strategies.
The Power of Patterns in Trading
Each chart pattern captures the interplay of buyer and seller psychology, offering a glimpse into market sentiment. These patterns, when correctly interpreted, can signal whether the market is likely to continue its current direction or reverse course. Patterns such as head and shoulders, double tops and bottoms, triangles, flags, and wedges provide traders with clear entry and exit signals.
However, relying on just one or two familiar patterns can limit your potential. The complexity of markets is reflected in the diverse and intricate patterns they produce. That’s why it’s important to learn Multiple Charts Pattern analysis—to broaden your perspective and increase your adaptability in different market conditions.
What is Multiple Charts Pattern Analysis?
Multiple Charts Pattern Analysis is the practice of studying and recognizing a wide range of technical chart patterns across various timeframes and market scenarios. Rather than focusing solely on one chart type or timeframe, traders analyze different patterns from candlestick charts, bar charts, line charts, and more. They also explore these patterns across daily, weekly, and intraday time frames to get a comprehensive view of market behavior.
This approach helps traders spot potential setups with greater accuracy, avoid false signals, and align their trades with the broader market trend.
Benefits of Learning Multiple Charts Pattern Analysis
Improved Decision Making: When you learn Multiple Charts Pattern techniques, you gain a structured way to interpret market data. This leads to better, faster decision-making and increased confidence in your trades.
Greater Flexibility in Trading Strategies: Not all markets move the same way. By mastering different chart patterns, you can adapt your trading strategy to suit trending, ranging, or volatile markets.
Reduced Emotional Trading: Fear and greed can cloud judgment, leading traders to act on impulse rather than logic. A solid understanding of chart patterns adds discipline to your trading, helping you rely on logic and analysis instead of gut feelings.
Enhanced Risk Management: Most chart patterns come with well-defined areas for placing stop-loss and take-profit orders. This clarity allows for better risk-reward setups, keeping losses small and maximizing potential gains.
How to Start Learning Multiple Charts Pattern Analysis?
With the growing availability of trading courses online, mastering this skill is more accessible than ever. With structured guidance, practical demonstrations, and community support, online courses help traders go from beginner to advanced level at their own pace.
When looking to learn trading online, make sure the course includes:
A wide variety of chart patterns
Real-world trading examples
Practice charts and quizzes
Access to mentors or peer groups
The best online trading course will not only teach you the patterns but also show you how to apply them in live market scenarios.
Why Traders Prefer Online Learning?
More traders today are turning to online trading courses due to their accessibility, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. Instead of spending hours sifting through scattered resources, these courses offer a streamlined path with expert insights and practical tips.

From beginner-level basics to advanced strategies, our course modules guide you through every step of the journey with clarity and confidence.
Real-World Application of Multiple Chart Patterns
Consider a situation where a head and shoulders pattern develops on the daily chart, while a bullish flag takes shape on the 15-minute timeframe. A trader who understands both patterns can make a more informed decision—perhaps waiting for the intraday breakout to align with the longer-term trend reversal before entering a trade.
This kind of multi-pattern, multi-timeframe approach allows for:
Stronger confirmation before trade execution
Precision in entry and exit points
Reduced risk due to enhanced clarity
Such insights are only possible when you've committed the time to learn Multiple Charts Pattern analysis thoroughly.
Final Thoughts
To keep up with the ever-changing markets, your trading game must keep improving. Limiting yourself to a handful of patterns may provide short-term success, but if you're aiming for long-term consistency, mastering Multiple Charts Pattern Analysis is crucial.
With the right online trading course, dedication, and practice, any trader can develop this vital skill. So if you’re serious about leveling up your trading game, it’s time to learn Multiple Charts Pattern analysis and turn uncertainty into opportunity.
Ready to start your journey? Take the next step in your trading journey by visiting Chart Monks and exploring our expert-led online courses. Learn at your own pace, sharpen your skills, and become a more confident and consistent trader.

Do you sew? Do you have boobs? Do your tops never seem to fit correctly despite following all the instructions on the pattern? THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT! Sewing patterns usually just tell you to match your full bust measurement to their sizing chart, but this isn't enough information to tell you if the garment will actually fit.
Here's the problem. Imagine three people who all have a 40-inch bust measurement. But one of them is completely flat-chested, one of them is very well-endowed, and the third has the mythical "average" figure that the pattern was designed for. Despite having the same circumference, their torsos are completely different sizes and shapes! So while our lucky "average" sewist can cut out the pattern as written and have it fit, that same size is going to be much too tight in the shoulders for the flat-chested person and much too loose in the shoulders for the buxom one.
And that sucks, because an adjustment to add or remove fullness from the bust is much easier to do than trying to re-size the shoulders and torso. Instead of starting off with the pattern size that matches your bust measurement, it's a lot better if you can start off with the size that fits your shoulders. But almost no patterns tell you how to figure this out!
What you need is to match the high bust measurement. Here's an image (from "Ahead of the Curve: Learn to Fit and Sew Amazing Clothes For Your Curves" by Jenny Rushmore, a GREAT book for learning to fit garments, especially if you're bigger) on how to measure high bust vs full bust.
Tumblr media
The difference, in inches, between the full bust measure and the high bust measure is your sewing cup size. (usually not the same as your bra cup size, which is the difference between the full bust measure and the underbust measure. yes, it's confusing. sorry)
So how to use this to figure out what size to cut out from your pattern? If you're using a Big Four sewing pattern, those are all drafted for a B sewing cup, so the high bust for any given size will be two inches less than the given (full) bust measurement. Choose the size that matches your high bust. Then compare the full bust measurement to yours. If it matches, great! If it's smaller or larger, you will have to do either a full bust adjustment or small bust adjustment. They seem scary because they're slash-and-spread adjustments, but if you find a good tutorial they're not that hard. You can also just make a mockup in the pattern size that matches your high bust and either add or remove fabric in the bust area until it behaves.
What if you're not using a Big Four pattern? Well, if you're lucky you'll find a pattern you like from a company that simply provides the high bust measurement as well as the full bust in their chart. A few places, like Cashmerette, actually include multiple cup sizes in their patterns so you don't need to do any math to get a good fit. Otherwise, if the company tells you what cup size they're drafted with, you can figure out the high bust from the full bust: A cup is one inch difference, B is two, C is three etc.
If the pattern company doesn't tell you anything except the full bust measurement, scold them about it. If you have to guess, smaller sizes will most likely be drafted with a B cup. There's a little more variation in plus sizes. Regardless, if you're making a mockup try to get the shoulders and neck fitting properly before you worry too much about the bust.
Now go forth and sew things that actually fit your body!

Do you know how smart Cale actually is? Like- what extent his intelligence can reach?
That's an interesting question! Let's take a look.
From what I know of IQ scores, anything above 120 puts you in top 10% of the population. So I easily see Kim Rok Soo!Cale belonging in that category; of >120 IQ. However, IQ had always felt a little vague to me. It's nice to have a number to put on a scale and all, but what does it actually mean in reality? Let's try this from a different angle.
Gardner's Multiple Intelligences model of divides talent into eight categories, plus one additional one:
Visual-spatial
Linguistic-verbal
Logical-mathematical
Body-kinesthetic
Musical
Interpersonal
Intrapersonal
Naturalistic
Existential
Why not try to measure him up against each one, as no person is actually intelligent in every way and not even a fictional character can excel in all of them (unless they're a Mary Sue or something lol).
Visual and spatial judgment stands for easy reading, writing, puzzles solving, recognizing patterns and analyzing charts well. I think Cale is definitely a pro in this category; he does loves reading and he's fantastic at analyzing data.
Linguistic-verbal is for remember written and spoken information, debates, giving persuasive speeches, ability to explain things and skilled at verbal humor. And while I constantly make fun of Cale for not being able to explain himself, he IS good at using the "glib tongue" and being persuasive, so I think he is very skilled in this category as well.
Logical-mathematical means having excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to come up with abstract ideas and conduct scientific experiments, as well as computing complex issues. Cale is an incredible strategist able to change his plans in an instant, so he is definitely a genius in this field.
Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence is a fun one, because I think it's the hardest one to judge, considering that he literally changed bodies. It of course stands for sports, dancing, craftmanship, physical coordination, and remembering better by practice rather than learning theory. Cale... does not like that. However, it doesn't mean he's BAD at it. If he was a genius in this field, however, I believe he would like it a bit more. Thus – I suspect he was average. In the past he was forced to exercise for the sake of survival, but once he was given the option of taking it easy, he quit instantly. He is capable, but does not have any particular predisposition for it.
Musical Intelligence drives me nuts, because we literally do not know, and I dearly wish I did. There was not a single mention of it in the whole series. As much as I want to believe in a cool headcanon of KRS being an unrealized musical genius... I think he was probably average or below average in this.
Interpersonal Intelligence stands for communication, conflict-solving, perception and the ability to forge connections with others. And while you might have some doubts about Cale, I say he IS a total pro in this. Those are all leadership skills, and Cale is one HELL of a great leader.
However...
Intrapersonal Intelligence is where Cale is severely lacking. It could be partially due to trauma, but I think at least some of it comes through his natural personality. It stands for introspection, self-reflection, the ability to understand one's motivation and general self-awareness; and that is Cale's biggest weakness, one that might actually cost him his slacker life dream in the end, due to all the misunderstandings he causes.
The last two, Naturalistic and Existential Intelligence types, are also not really Cale's forte. The first is for things like botany, biology, and zoology, paired with enjoyment of camping and hiking – none of which Cale actually does for pleasure, only because he has to. And yeah, farming is in that category too, but it's not like Cale is actually a real farmer just yet. And the second is for stuff like philosophy, considering how current actions influence future outcomes, the ability to see situations from an outside perspective and reflections into the meaning of life and death – and Cale is REALLY not interested in this type of self reflection.
Which leaves Cale with 4 types of intelligence he excels at, 2 which he is REALLY BAD at, 1 where he's below average and 1 he's probably average, with 1 left completely unknown.
Does this make Cale a genius? Pretty much, yes. Does it also make him stupid in very specific ways? VERY MUCH, YES.

have you ever seen an astro circle chart and been like… wtf is that? anyways. . . and just scroll away
same.
here’s a quick guide to different types of charts based on their look - because usually the pattern tells a story.
🌪️ splash (aka my chart 😮‍💨)
lines slicing and crossing like a high-stakes spy movie scene. not a classical chart type, but when a chart is full of squares, oppositions, kites, T-squares, and other intense aspects - it looks like a web of tension.
→ what it means:
you’re built for tension and transformation. nothing’s easy but everything hits deep.
core energy: emotional complexity, creative pressure, silent power.
if the planets are distributed throughout the chart without clear clustering, it might be a splash.
🎯 bucket (aka carrying one big dream)
planets mostly on one side with one planet all alone (the “handle”)
→ what it means:
youre focused but with a twist. the handle planet is your obsession, your outlet, your secret sauce.
example: if the handle is Saturn, you’re chasing structure. if it’s Venus, love and beauty are your compass.
core energy: focused, hypnotic.
🔄 seesaw (aka the internal tug-of-war)
two groups of planets on opposite sides
→ what this means:
duality is your default. you get both sides, you hold contradictions, and you’re great at seeing multiple perspectives, but you can feel torn. if the planets are mostly spread evenly across both sides, especially with symmetry - it’s likely a seesaw shape.
it’s like “yes… but also no.”
core energy: emotional acrobatics. lawyer energy.
↖️ all on the left (houses 1–6)
this chart says: “i’ll figure it out myself.” you do the deep work in private, no audience is necessary.
→ what it means:
introspective, self-driven, moving from the inside out.
core energy: solitude, self-work, mastery.
you create in silence before the world sees. you feel like something’s missing, so you’re always seeking it. deeply motivated to balance your world.
↘️ all on the right (houses 7–12)
growth through others. usually the people person who actually learns stuff from other humans (wild, i know).
→ what it means:
you learn through connection, contrast, and relationships.
core energy: community, collaboration, reflection.
you’re the main character in a bigger story.
🥂lines on both sides
a cosmic double espresso shot. juggling your own feelings and everyone else’s without dropping a beat
→ what it means:
you’re balancing self and other, mystery and revelation. you’re the hermit and the socialite, the quiet thinker and connector.
core energy: paradox, depth, and a life mostly in gray zones.
you créate your story with inner growth + outer experience, so never settling for easy answers. you collect contradictions like trophies.
🔻 bottom-heavy (houses 1–6)
private life is your kingdom. the homebody with a PhD in emotional deep diving.
→ what it means:
rooted in habits, healing, and inner work. your power comes from routines and knowing yourself like the back of your hand.
core energy: grounding, emotional depth, personal growth.
your roots run deep..
🔺 top-heavy (houses 7–12)
eyes on the prize; public life and legacy.
→ what it means:
ambitious and driven to impact. you’re built to make waves and get noticed.
core energy: purpose, influence, expansion.
you’re born to be seen and remembered.

Mercury Darakaraka
the following isn't all great but it's based on real life examples. Your exact scenario will change based on the entire chart.
Often I see this can manifest as a younger spouse - this won't always be the case as other placements can deny it. The spouse will have a youthful personality - they can get bored quickly. The spouse can behave in immature/childish ways.
They'll be someone who is constantly changing throughout life. In some cases, this manifests as multiple serious relationships - possibly multiple marriages. If Mercury is afflicted, I have noticed a pattern of cheating in relationships.
The spouse can be quick-witted, friendly and social. Depending on the sign, house and aspects the above can change. The spouse is introverted, anxious and there will be trouble in communications.
They can have many interests. They'll be curious and often learning and changing in new ways. They can be calculated and analytical - they are much smarter than they let on. If in a nakshatra or sign that indicates deception, this shows a manipulative spouse that plays aloof or innocent.
The relationship will be founded on friendship above any superficial reasons (appearance, status, wealth, etc). They can truly be your best friend. They become bored and disengaged in the connection if the relationship loses the friendship aspect.
Mercury is like the student. When paired with someone who has a Sun AK or Jupiter AK, I have noticed this shows a spouse you will educate and provide new experiences to.
This is only placement but often this shows a spouse who has less wealth and status than you (this can still be a lot if you have a lot). This is usually because the spouse is younger and/or the spouse doesn’t commit to one route long enough to achieve optimal status. They are eager to learn about various paths in life. Depending on the entire chart, this can make them great at business tho - they understand all roles and areas in their field - it can help them in the long run.
You are likely to have shared interests. You and the spouse can develop shared interests - likely you introduce one another to new topics and hobbies. The relationship isn't chosen for superficial reasons - appearance, status, etc.
They are likely more logical than emotional in their thinking. They are adaptable and down for new experiences. The relationship will work best when you are gradually changing and adapting with them.
The spouse is likely active - mentally and/or physically. They require mental stimulation - they'll want to have genuinely interesting conversation.

Retrograde Planets in a Natal Chart: Meaning and Explanation
The mere mention of the word “retrograde” sends shivers down many people's spines, and even those who don’t know much about astrology react with concern when they hear “Mercury retrograde" or "mercury is on the microwave". But what does it really mean for a planet to be in retrograde motion, and how does it influence our natal chart?
When a planet is retrograde in your birth chart, its energy does not flow directly and externally; instead, it turns inward, requiring a deeper process of assimilation. This can manifest as difficulties in expressing that energy or feeling like it’s hard to channel it naturally. In some cases, it may feel completely blocked, requiring conscious effort to unlock its potential.
To better understand its impact, let’s explore the meaning of each planet when it appears in a retrograde state in a natal chart. ✨
There is an astrological perspective that suggests retrograde planets in a natal chart represent areas of life where, during childhood, we were not able to freely express our energy. These early restrictions may have led us to internalize those qualities, developing a more introspective relationship with them or feeling blocked when trying to manifest them externally.
A planet is in retrograde motion when, from our perspective on Earth, it appears to move backward in its orbit. This doesn’t mean the planet is actually reversing its course—it’s an optical illusion caused by differences in orbital speeds between Earth and the other planets.
In astrology, retrograde motion symbolizes introspective energy. Retrograde planets represent areas in our lives where we need to look inward, review, heal, and learn deep lessons before we can fully express that energy in the external world.
How to Interpret Retrograde Planets in a Natal Chart
When a planet is retrograde in your birth chart, its influence tends to be more internal and reflective. It may manifest as blocks, challenges, or the feeling that you need to put in extra effort in that area of life. It can also indicate a connection to past lives or lessons carried over from other phases of existence.
Let’s explore the meaning of each planet when it is retrograde in a natal chart:
🌞 Mercury Retrograde: Internalized Thought and Communication Mercury governs communication, logic, and quick thinking. When retrograde in a natal chart, it can indicate difficulties in verbal expression, a preference for writing over speaking, or a tendency to overthink before communicating. This suggests a person who leans toward introversion and, in extreme cases, may struggle with learning difficulties in early life. It can also indicate self-doubt regarding one’s own ideas and excessive self-criticism. How to work with it: Learn to trust your own voice and thought process. Avoid excessive self-criticism and allow yourself to share ideas without fear.
🌹 Venus Retrograde: Love and Self-Worth Venus rules love, relationships, beauty, and pleasure. If retrograde in your chart, it can manifest in two ways: difficulties in giving and receiving love, or a tendency toward narcissism. There may be insecurity in relationships or a pattern of attracting toxic connections that require healing. It can also indicate a complicated relationship with self-love and self-esteem. On the other side, it may point to someone who prioritizes self-admiration over genuine emotional connections. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to value yourself before seeking external validation. Work on self-love and cultivate healthy, balanced relationships.
🔥 Mars Retrograde: Willpower and Action Mars is the planet of action, passion, and raw energy. When retrograde in a natal chart, it can cause hesitation before taking action or difficulty expressing anger and desires. The person may repress their energy or only react when the pressure becomes too intense. In some cases, this individual may lack the competitive drive that Mars typically represents, fear taking risks, or struggle with insecurity. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to act with confidence and express anger in a healthy way. Find a balance between impulsivity and inaction.
🌀 Jupiter Retrograde: Internal Growth and Beliefs Jupiter represents expansion, wisdom, and luck. When retrograde in a chart, learning tends to be deeply introspective and philosophical. Instead of seeking truth externally, the person finds wisdom within. These individuals may develop their own moral code rather than follow societal norms. There may also be a feeling of limitation in life, as if luck takes longer to arrive or success requires more effort. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to trust your inner knowledge and find abundance from within. Cultivate faith in the universe without needing external validation.
⚡ Saturn Retrograde: Responsibility and Life Lessons Saturn is the planet of karma, discipline, maturity, and structure. Its retrograde position in a natal chart can indicate an extra sense of responsibility in certain life areas. This person may appear stoic on the outside but internally overthink and worry excessively. They may experience blocks related to self-discipline or fear of failure, leading to a need for control over everything and everyone. Alternatively, if their upbringing was overly strict, they might rebel completely against structure. 🔮 How to work with it: Heal wounds related to duty and self-expectation. Learn to set healthy boundaries, let go of control, and trust in the timing of life.
🌊 Uranus Retrograde: Inner Rebellion and Transformation Uranus is the planet of innovation, revolution, and radical change. When retrograde in a natal chart, the individual may have eccentric tastes and a rebellious spirit. They might hold unconventional ideas but fear change, preferring to stick to old habits. 🔮 How to work with it: Embrace your uniqueness and learn to express it without fear of rejection. Channel innovation into tangible actions.
🌊 Neptune Retrograde: Internalized Spirituality and Dreams Neptune rules dreams, spirituality, and illusion. A retrograde Neptune can indicate a strong spiritual connection but also struggles with fantasy or internal conflicts. There may be a tendency to disconnect from reality or a deep desire to escape the material world. In extreme cases, it may lead to martyrdom or vulnerability to addictions. 🔮 How to work with it: Balance intuition with reality. Develop spirituality without getting lost in illusions.
🔥 Pluto Retrograde: Transformation and Inner Power Pluto represents deep transformation, death, rebirth, and power. If retrograde in a natal chart, the person may experience intense internal power struggles, resisting authority while struggling to accept their own desire for control. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to embrace change without fear. Discover personal power without resorting to control or manipulation.
Conclusion: What Does It Mean to Have Multiple Retrograde Planets in Your Chart?
Having retrograde planets in your natal chart is not a bad thing—it’s an invitation to look within. These energies require deeper work but also offer immense growth and wisdom when understood and accepted. If you have multiple retrograde planets, you are likely an introspective person with many life lessons focused on self-discovery. These placements encourage you to review patterns, heal wounds, and trust your own evolutionary process.
🌙 Remember: Astrology does not dictate our fate; it serves as a guide to better understand our journey. If you have retrograde planets, it doesn’t mean you are doomed to struggle—it means you have a unique opportunity to explore your inner world and grow from within.
Do you have retrograde planets in your natal chart? Let me know in the comments, and let’s talk about it! ✨🔮

Last month, Sixth & Spring publishing reached out to me to review the new Short-row Colorwork Knitting book by Woolly Wormhead. Woolly  is best known for designing clever hat patterns that employ the use of short-rows to create dynamic shapes in colorwork. I've never made one of her patterns, but have long appreciated them as a sort of brain teaser. Each one seems to fit together like a puzzle of yarn. I've now spent a month with this book, reading through it and using it as a textbook to learn Woolly's signature short row technique.
Tumblr media
The cover of the book has a frosted glass feel, which I think is nicer than a glossy cover. Three of the brightly colored stitch patterns are displayed along with the title. The book contains 50 stitch patterns and 10 projects. The yarn for the publication was provided by malabrigo so every stitch pattern is shown in beautiful tonal yarn. I also noticed a stitch key on the inside of the flap of the cover that folds out so you can look at it when you're working on a pattern. I love the consideration for the reader and the functionality.
Tumblr media
This book is written like a workbook, it starts by giving you all the tools that you need to use to knit the stitch patterns then use them in your own projects. The first few chapters explain the short-row colorwork fabric, the chart system, ways of altering the motifs in the book and color theory. I was not left with any questions about the instructions. The next section of the book contains tutorials teaching the basics of short row knitting, the skills that are needed to complete the patterns are shown with photos. There's even a photo tutorial on knitting backwards - a huge time saver. It seems like Woolly and I have the same party trick.
Tumblr media
Next, I tried making a few of the stitch patterns with my new skills. The chart system was intuitive. The first swatch is the Sine Stripes pattern. The swatch in the book showed a selvedge, which I added on my swatch as well. Next, I tried making the Anemones motif. I did not add a selvedge this time, but felt confident using the lessons to shift the placement of the short rows. None of the short rows were changed,I just cast on extra stitches and practiced moving the motifs. I did not have a chance to try any of the "repeatable" stitch patterns yet which can be used in the round as well as flat. The majority of the book is spent on these adaptable stitches.
Tumblr media
I didn't have time to try any of the projects, but noticed a good mix of different accessories. I appreciate the inclusion of multiple designers showing different perspectives and approaches to the Short-row Colorwork technique. The final chapter of the book explains different design considerations, inviting the reader to actually use the stitch dictionary portion of the text for their own applications. The properties of some of these stitches are unique and the lessons are helpful and explaining all different scenarios that may come up.
Tumblr media
I always intended to get this book, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. It's incredibly thorough without becoming overwhelming. If you enjoy learning new things, this is a great purchase. It's currently available for  pre-order and will be available in the US on April 16th and in the UK on May 14th. More info is available on Woolly's website. And you can preorder a copy of the book on Amazon.

I spent waaay too much time researching sheep genetics instead of my Hazbin redesigns. I just wanted to draw a sheep with Abel, and got sidetracked. So I will include the basics of what I learned here.
I made a sheet with multiple color combinations and pattern possibilities. It's way simplified, but that's all I needed for my purposes. It's actually more than I needed. But here we are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's some charts with some color and pattern possibilities. These can vary according to the breed, and some breeds have more than others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I learned about the genetics of the colors and markings. There are a few genetic factors, but also multiple genetic combinations can get the same appearance. For example, there are multiple ways to get a white sheep. So of course I will get into it because I need to share what I've learned somewhere.
There are two base colors of sheep. Black and Brown(we'll call it Moorit, because black sheep can have brown coloring, which can get confusing). Even white sheep are one or the other. You can kinda tell by the skin, nose, and hoof colors. Black is dominant over moorit. The color is determined by the balance of eumelanin(blacks and browns) and pheomelanin(reds and yellows). Less eumelanin can result in moorit.
Next factor is hair/wool markings and patterns. White/Tan is a dominant pattern, with color markings less dominant. But both are dominant over solid color.
Next is spotting. Spots are white. And if they're present, they usually start with head, sock, and tail markings. What gets funny here is that only spotted sheep can have pink noses. So if you see an all white sheep with a pink nose(like merino), it's actually completely covered with spots. There's also something about the wool potentially being whiter than with non-spotted white sheep.
Finally, there's something called an extension gene. It's the exception to the white-is-dominant rule. It can override the other genes and cover areas with color.
Spotting and extension genes make it hard to figure out exactly why a sheep looks like it does, and what its lambs could potentially look like. Colored sheep can suddenly have a white lamb or vice versa.
Wool is another factor. Wool doesn't hold pigment as well as hair. Especially red. So a sheep's face and legs is usually darker than it's wool. Black wool will often fade to brown or grey. Red wool will often become near-white. Hair sheep retain vivid colors much better.
Anyway! That's it. It's simplified and based on my cursory research. So don't rely on me for the most accurate information! It was just a little side project that caught my attention.

Astrological placements in a natal chart that may indicate Bipolar Disorder or BPD 😶 🌊
Part 1:
Tumblr media
⚠️ Disclaimer: I am not suggesting that these placements indicate AuDHD, anxiety, or OCD. However, individuals with these placements may be more prone to certain behaviors associated with these disorders. Astrology can be a useful tool for observing subconscious patterns and can aid in shadow work. Keep in mind that these insights may not apply to everyone, so take what resonates and leave what doesn’t.
Scorpio Sun/Moon/Rising/Venus/Mars/Saturn- When they feel emotionally slighted, they may tend to see things in black and white, lacking a gray area in their perception of situations. This can lead to vengeful and petty behavior, especially when they experience a real or perceived betrayal.
Capricorn Moon- With the Moon in detriment in this placement, it can be challenging for these individuals to connect with their emotions; they may even suppress them. However, if they are pushed too far, they can become emotionally explosive, causing everything they have been holding back to surface.
Gemini Sun/Moon/Rising/Venus/Mars/Saturn-They can be emotionally unpredictable and chaotic, often embodying multiple personas at once while feeling a range of emotions and perceiving various perspectives and realities. Their mind is always in motion, rarely ever still.
Cancer Sun/Moon/Rising/Venus/Mars- They can be emotionally explosive, especially if unevolved or negatively aspected. They feel things very intensely and can be quite scattered in their emotions. Additionally, the phases of the Moon can significantly impact their emotional state.
Negatively Aspected or Unevolved 12H/8H Stellium/Sun/Moon/Mars/Venus/Saturn. These individuals may experience an unstable sense of self and can be emotionally volatile, particularly if they are not yet connected to their emotions.
Moon Square Venus- These individuals may struggle with codependency, displaying behaviors such as emotional suffocation and overall emotional neediness. This can make it challenging for them to form healthy relationships with others.
Chiron Aspects- Chiron in astrology represents our deepest wounds. If these wounds remain unhealed or unevolved, they can manifest negatively, leading to behaviors such as emotional avoidance or volatility.
Uranus Moon Aspects- This can manifest as emotional independence, making it difficult for these individuals to ask for emotional support. This struggle may lead to emotional detachment or mood swings.
Pisces Sun/Moon/Mars/Venus/Saturn or Neptune aspects- They may struggle with being grounded in reality and can be prone to escapist behaviors. This can lead to emotional self-destruction and an inclination toward addiction-like behaviors, potentially indicating an addictive personality.
Water Dominant Charts: These individuals can be emotionally unpredictable and generally sensitive. They feel deeply, which can be overwhelming for them, especially if they haven’t yet learned how to manage their emotions effectively.
Aries Sun/Moon/Mars/Venus/Saturn: They may be prone to emotionally explosive and impulsive behavior, particularly if they are unevolved or negatively aspected.
Empty 1H or Saturn in the 1H- They may struggle with a sense of self, sometimes feeling as though they lack one altogether. This can make it challenging for them to develop and assert their personality, especially if they have no planets in the 1st house.

Hearing about the 6 day star blanket dramatics really highlights how many people don't understand that yes, with instructions you can kind of do anything, but crafts like knitting and crochet are still skills. Sure, I can walk you through every single step of the advanced lace shawl pattern I am currently working on and you might be able to do it even if you've never crocheted before, but it's not going to look the same or work up as quickly as when I make it with almost ten years of crochet experience. And that's fine! You have to practice skills to get better at them! Practicing doesn't just mean making a bunch of stuff but also learning the language and conventions of patterns and instructions, learning the differences between different yarns and materials and what works for what projects, and developing both an instinct for and an understanding of how crochet works. When I first started it took me ages to figure out how to make a granny square through multiple detailed video tutorials, and now my preferred type of pattern is a well-made symbol chart. If you've only just started knitting or crocheting, there are going to be projects you can't do yet because you just haven't developed the vocabulary, muscle memory, and skill. There are going to be projects where you spend just as much time deciphering the pattern as you do actually crafting. But next time you'll know the stitches and the vocabulary and it'll be a little bit easier, and I feel like a lot of people who are hopping on crochet as the current hot trend do not want to acknowledge that they have to put all the work and time in to be able to make stuff on the same level as crafters with years or decades of experience.

The Why of Sewing 4: How to Avoid Scammy Patterns
As your sewing skills progress beyond following straight lines on fabric you are going to want to start looking for patterns to make your dream outfits a reality.
There are a lot of bad patterns out there, both in the AI generated flavor and in the more mundane human incompetence flavor. This guide is mostly going to focus on avoiding AI, but generally these tips will also weed out the worst of the ones poorly drafted by humans as well. Generally Etsy seems like the natural place to find indie drafted patterns, and while there are many designers posting their patterns on etsy who are legitimate, the market is FLOODED by scams at the moment. Beware of the Etsy sewing pattern. These are all things you should be able to spot BEFORE making the purchase. A later post can go into ways to figure out if it is you or the pattern causing issues.
Let's Lead with Positive Green Flags:
Multiple images of the model and garment where it is clearly the same person and garment from different angles. Many smaller indie companies are modeled by the designer, or just a couple models. The most important part is seeing multiple angles of the garment.
Line drawings that match the style lines of the sample garment.
Social media presence for the shop off of etsy. This is VERY important. All the big indie companies are on insta and make tags for their patterns (even though tags are broken). Instagram has been where the sewing community has lived for the most part and it is still pretty dang important now.
The pattern should always have size charts, yardage charts, fabric recommendations, and notion lists available for review without purchasing the pattern. Never ever buy a pattern where you can’t see the size chart before buying.
Cohesive design across the shop. It doesn’t have to be good design or interesting design, but it should look like the same person made the listing.
Fat Models - this is a big green flag, but it feels slightly weird to say as a hot tip to look for. AI is really bad at making images of fat people and scammers rarely care enough to do so. This is also a green flag for inclusive sizing.
Red Flags to watch for:
Headless models and stolen images - this is becoming less common as AI generated “samples” are taking over, but a quick reverse image search is a good idea. Some indie designers do prefer not to post their faces, but you can usually still tell that you are looking at the same person.
Only front view images, or any single angle photo.
A different model in every photo - this can be seen in well established indie companies who use lots of testing pools, but those tend to look very human and not the kind of human who earns their living with their appearance. Images of lots of models in sharp focus with an extremely blurry background. No human skin texture is a red flag.
Seamlines that don’t match across the garment - watch for sleeves not matching one another for example.
Way too many patterns in the shop at very low prices - pattern making takes a lot of work and having hundreds of $3 patterns is a huge red flag. At best its someone devaluing their work.
Weird videos of just a sewing machine stitching, usually not even threaded correctly. I don't know why this is showing up on so many AI pattern listing, but if the thread is just flopping around above the needle, buyer beware.
Okay so now you have learned how to spot some flags - where should you browse patterns and find something usable!
Threadloop - I should do an entire post on how good threadloop already is for a sewist and the makers are constantly adding new features. They are building a database of patterns and users can post reviews, link finished projects and I believe they have instituted a visible tag if users suspect a pattern has AI generated elements.
Sewing Pattern Review - This site looks dated, but the creators are still super involved. There is an active community of makers posting pattern reviews and it's easy to look for a specific pattern, browse through recent reviews, or look at a category like “pants”.
Curvy Pattern Database - this is a database of designers who have sizing that goes up to a minimum of a 60” hip and for any sewist with a larger body this is where I would start, but even if you are a straight sized sewist this is a fantastic resource. Every pattern is manually added and Sarah, the fantastic sewist behind the database, also does round up posts of new pattern releases. She includes free patterns and I’ve never spotted a scammy pattern company in the round ups.
Instagram - this is probably the most annoying option for me, especially since instagram broke their tags. That being said, if a pattern company isn’t on instagram that basically means they aren’t marketing to the kind of sewist who can spot a scam.
The Fold Line - a UK based pattern sales portal that has both indie and big 4 patterns (the ones in the envelopes with the books at the fabric stores). Even if you don't buy through their portal they have some handy search tools and a pleasant browsing experience, they also put out some great youtube videos of new releases and videos matching up patterns to trends in ready to wear.

SeaWing tribe sheet!
Tumblr media
seawings my beloved. i didnt do anything too crazy with them but they deserve to be a bit over-the-top. (also, lmk if anyone is interested in a size comparison chart and/or an evolutionary tree for the tribes because i might do those if people would like it)
Physical Appearance + Traits:
-SeaWings are almost entirely aquatic dragons. They can live and breathe out of water, but vastly prefer their ocean habitat, and too much time out of water can dry and dull their scales.
-They have short legs with wide, webbed talons which they use to propel through the water. They also have long, thick and powerful tails. SeaWings cannot be called comparatively large or small due to these unique proportions.
-Not unlike MudWings, SeaWings can fly, but aren’t skilled at it. Their wings have adapted to be used essentially as large fins to steer accurately through the water, and are not as effective for flight. They sometimes can leap from the water and catch air like flying fish, but they struggle to get fully off the ground; their wings are better suited for passive gliding.
-The pale marks that cover their bodies can be used to create bioluminescent light, so efficiently that SeaWings can turn individual lights on and off at will, and even control the dimness. They use these marks in flashing patterns to communicate underwater, in a language called Aquatic. Phrases in Aquatic are often less about individual words assigned to specific combinations - though that can be applied to some - but more about the overall visual expression. (For example, in the right context, random and scattered twinkling refers to stars, or the night sky.) Aquatic, like much of SeaWing culture, is loose, expressive and artistic.
-Large and airy frills run along their bodies, connecting at the tail. These bolden their appearance and make some swimming patterns almost mesmerizing.
-Colors, like many SeaWing traits, vary greatly, but blues and greens are most common. Grays, purples and even pinks also appear on occasion.
-Due to the vastness of the oceans, there are multiple variants of the typical SeaWing. Living outside the sea kingdom, near the coral reefs bordering the mud kingdom and rainforest on the east side of Pyrrhia, are the fittingly-named Coral SeaWings, which are brightly-colored with rougher and rockier scales (and even minor color-changing abilities). Another group, with sightings so rare as to be unconfirmed beyond urban legend, is the Deep SeaWings; almost nothing is known about these besides a dark and spiny appearance with vivid bioluminescent markings.
-Gills allow underwater breathing; small lungs allow above-water breathing, but not as strongly or reliably. SeaWings also have a few adaptations that allow them to withstand pressure changes.
Life Cycle:
-SeaWings are laid in clutches of anywhere between 6 and 12. It’s these large groups that will make up their friends and peers for the first few years of their lives. SeaWing parents are present for the incubation and hatching of the eggs, and they are fiercely protective parents when the dragonets are very young, but most dragonets begin to be more independent after that.
-While the sibling clutches aren’t as close as MudWing troops, they do tend to be quite interdependent and prefer each other’s company. Once they get a bit older, though, they often branch off and find friends and romantic partners outside this group.
-SeaWings are monogamous and mate for life. It isn’t uncommon for the first dragon they show interest in to be the one they stay with. Both parents are considered equally responsible for dragonets if they have them.
-Because they’re hatched underwater, dragonets don’t learn to speak aloud, walk on land or fly until they’re several years old; some never do in detail, instead living underwater without contact with other tribes for their entire lives.
Culture and Society:
-SeaWing society is structured and organized around the royal family, who have great cultural influence and wealth. The Deep Palace alone holds about 40% of the SeaWing population, and it is by no means a small tribe.
-Arts are a huge cultural mark of the Sea Kingdom - no other tribe, aside from the NightWings, has such expansive literature, and SeaWing sculpting and jewelry-making is famous across Pyrrhia. Before the war, in fact, one of the main exports of the Sea Kingdom came from art exhibits - festivals held on near-shore islands, where dragons from all different tribes would come, to enjoy the scenery as well as look at and/or buy various displays of SeaWing art.
-This is one of the most social and closely-bonded tribes; with talons mainly made for mobility, dull horns, and no breath weapon, SeaWings depend on each other for safety, and their society is close-knit. Social norm intricacies, politeness in language, and subtly complex ranks and boundaries are all cultural things that dragons simply adapt to by being around it.
-The SeaWing education system is one of the most successful and robust, with every dragonet attending a school for at least two years. If they choose, there are also more specific career paths they can take if there’s an area they’d like to specialize in. They are taught extensively in literature and history, basic hunting and self-defense, and basic land language and skills, such as how to walk and fly.
-Even more than other dragons, they take great care to keep their scales and frills shiny and healthy. In-depth cleaning methods are abundant, to keep barnacles and parasites off of them, and SeaWings in general are seen as much more attractive when they’re polished and unscratched. As they get older and move less, it may become harder to keep barnacles and algae off, but some SeaWings accept this and allow themselves to take on a “stones in a tide pool” look as a clear indication of age. SeaWings also enjoy jewelry, particularly made up of pearls and precious stones on strings; gold and silver don’t work as well underwater.
-They are resourceful and use a wide variety of tools; the fact that they have few natural defenses has led to a greater use of weapons than most other tribes, for example.
Diet: Facultative carnivorous (mostly meat). Fish, shellfish and crustaceans make up the vast majority of their diet, but their meals can also include a few types of seaweed, seagrass and other aquatic plants. In the palace, large hunting groups provide food for the entire population, but SeaWings who live outside of it usually provide food for themselves.

Headcanons before I go to work. I hope these give you dopamine and your day gets better 🖤
Hugo gives Rapunzel various piercings and Rapunzel gives Hugo tattoos. They both dye eachothers hair. (Hugo needing his hair bleached and Raps wanting to dye hers various colors.)
Hugo is already naturally blonde but he bleaches it platinum.
Nuru has a thick accent that sometimes Hugo and Yong can’t really decipher what she’s saying. Luckily Varian has experience in court and interacting with her kingdom, so he’s able to translate.
Eugene and Lance know of Donella and are very afraid of her, due to the Baron’s fear of her. Thanksgiving is very awkward for them.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again endlessly- Nuru and Rapunzel bond over astronomy. Heck, Varian and Nuru bond over astronomy because Raps taught him how to chart stars.
Quirin has, on multiple occasions, picked Varian up by his shirt collar to take him to bed. Like picking up a kitten by the scruff of it’s neck.
Thank you for the dopamine. Legitimately I read "Rapunzel gives Hugo tattoos" and teared up from the joy of it. She'd be a wonderful tattoo artist. Also, Hugo bleaching his hair even lighter is very on brand for him.
I love your headcanon of Nuru having a strong accent and Varian being the one to always understand her. I like to think other than already having experience in the court, Varian is good at understanding her is because I headcanon that the people in Old Corona have strong and nearly incomprehensible southern accents (varian included when he was a kid but learned to correct as he got older) and he can pick up on how people annunciate their words and understand their speech patterns faster than others.
I grew up with a speech impediment that took half a decade to fix, but my family and friends notice that as an adult I never have trouble understanding others, especially children, with lisps, dysarthia, apraxia, or other articulation disorders. It's like that chicken burger rooster sauce scene from Clarence.
These are all such good headcanons. Nuru, Rapunzel, and Varian having stargazing nights just gives me a cozy feel.
Also yes, 100% to Quirin carrying Varian like a kitten, especially when he's refusing to go to bed although anyone can tell he's 5 seconds away from knocking out due to exhaustion.

aspects and chart patterns for ateez
number one reason why i decided to write this: mingi has a grand cross.
bro this chart goes crazy. a grand cross is a SHIT TON of energy. act right now, think NEVER (or later, obsessively, full of regrets). for mingi the 4 players are uranus "manic pixie dream girl" (14 aquarius), mars "she's cute but a psycho" (15 scorpio), sun "ME! by taylor swift" (16 leo) and saturn "i work so i can go home" (16 taurus). they're all in fixed signs so that can be a rough ride! these guys ain't gonna move. it's easy to not make any progress because he feels really stuck here. the fire is blazing away, but the walls are staying put. it creates a fixed idea of how things are, a relentless energy that can eat itself. terrified of losing security. strength becomes an identity. he's both 100% always sure he is right about everything and staggeringly aware of the multiplicity of life and that no one knows what truth is, since a grand cross has one of each element so the energy is split.
it's like
his sun, in its rulership in leo, so very strong: have you SEEN ME LATELY, i want to LOVE you and come let me SHINE MY RAYS UPON YOU and you can be like wow you're so pretty!! and i'll be like yeah i am!! you're so pretty too!! i love expressing myself through dance and music!! i am 100% embracing my identity i can't be anyone other than me!! (this depends on his rising) versus uranus in aquarius, also rulership if you do modern rulers which i don't usually: uhHHHHH girl. being different is really. hard. also i don't want to join the party and i don't believe in that and also i want to leave and this is giving me anxiety. have you considered that the self is a construct and constantly changing???
meanwhile, on the other side of his chart:
mars strong in its rulership in scorpio if you do traditional rulers, which i do: i'm so sexy and intense and everyone looks at me all the time. i want to act boldly and with power and sexuality and loyalty and i'm not afraid of anyone have you considered that! if you cross me you'll fucking regret it. i'm full of deep powerful desires and i want to act to achieve them!! versus saturn in taurus: sit the hell down and be responsible, you asshole. stop doing that. stop thinking that. stop desiring that. it's not helpful. stop wanting that it's not practical. i'm the ensemble cast in stick to the status quo!! no no no! stick to the stuff you know!!
which produces these big bursts of passionate action and not a lot of follow through. there's also sub arguments, which are fun too.
sun square saturn: father saturn is always haranguing the sun/self/ego that he has to PRODUCE that he has to SUCCEED or what is the POINT, and sometimes the sun is like fuck it... i give up ballet is YOUR dream dad
father saturn is also haranguing gay cousin uranus which has the fun effect of making him both insanely stubborn/rigid and insanely chaotic at the same time
uranus is like the devil on the shoulder of mars encouraging it to do more, be more extreme, move on, hit da BRICKS
mars passes a lot of that message on to the sun, being like you gotta be move and make a decision right now and who gives a shit what the consequences are! let's jump off this building!!
thank god mingi has an "easy opposition" planet that offshoots his saturn-mars opposition! depending on his birth time his moon likely sextiles saturn and trines mars to some degree. the way out of this all or nothing mentality is through his cancer moon (so many of ateez have cancer moons). his moon is basically like... girl go home. learn to garden or knit or something. get out of the club girl what are u doing
san's mars opposes his jupiter exactly. no like. exactly exactly. 0.00 orb which i almost have never seen in my life. so she's a strong and intense opposition! the two sides of the seesaw:
his mars in scorpio: i'll die for you, i'll kill for you, i have deeply internalized so much red hot rage that i am afraid of being angry but also unable to not be angry. haha i'm fine, he said, his eyes shooting fire. let's go deep and dark right now, i can handle any weight and get though anything also if you betray me i will never forget so write that down, i love two things powerful soul-penetrating intimacy and holding on to my grudges. do you remember that one time you did that one thing because i do versus... taurus jupiter: you know what i love? nature. humanity. my ideals. bro you're really harshing my mellow so bad. i want to focus on acquiring my cool items and comfort. have you tried just like... letting go? transform yourself into a more benevolent being! i'm managing my money, other people's money, whatever, my investments go crazy and i have great intimate partnerships and that's enjoy to bring me fulfillment and joy :)
thankfully his leo venus is there! leo venus trines his scorpio mars and sextiles his jupiter, softening each one with that optimistic romance, the creativity, the passion. venus is not always acting perfectly--she sure can be an egomaniac--but it can certainly smooth out the rough edges of mars and connects the two extremes. it's also in the 12th, the pisces-y house, so it's sort of quieter, more introverted, very compassionate and sympathetic to others.
hongjoong also has an almost exact opposition (0.07, so close!) with a softening planet to the side.
jupiter in pisces: have you ever thought about humanity? we have a responsibility to help the less fortunate! do you think ghosts are real? do you want to join a cult? also i'm so sad :( about people being sad :(. also i really really want to spend all my money! right now!! it's fine i'll make more money whatever, what is important is look at my beautiful gorgeous items (2nd house). versus... mars in virgo: gotta WORK. gotta make that mONEY make PURSE. and the way you do that is by killing yourself working :). i can look at every situation logically and critically and i will cross every t and dot every i in the entire world by thursday at the latest. god i love solving weird problems so much. yes i will be reachable by phone :) or text :) or slack :) please feel free to zoom :) no i will not be on vacation ever in my life :)
thankfully he can bridge that gap with his venus in scorpio in the 9th house (think art/values/beauty/romance that is unafraid of darkness and eager to get to the heart of shit often about philosophy/religion/art/travel). his sun and mc also contribute to that--so his ego/identity and his career. they trine/sextile the two planets themselves, just not exactly.
on the other side of that opposition, we have... a t-square :(. his gemini moon in the 5th house squares both jupiter and mars. a t-square is often like--bro you've repressed some shit but here's some red hot raw potential if u work through it. it can help and hurt, like all aspects. the moon makes sure the chart is like HEY. LOOK AT MARS AND JUPITER. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MARS AND JUPITER RIGHT. it anchors the difference. it can mean his emotions go zoom zoom from one side to the other--moon/jupiter of benevolence, so many feelings, philosophy, the meaning of life on one side, and then on the other side i have NEVER had a FEELING in my LIFE how DARE you i gotta WORK and THINK ABOUT STUFF what do you mean "don't intellectualize" and "feel my feelings" LMAO sounds fake.
seonghwa interestingly enough has no oppositions at all between planets--he's not going to seesaw within himself. he's gonna make a choice and not understand why other people are making such a big deal out of it. i bet he doesn't even have an internal monologue, lucky bitch. goddamnit.
he does have some interesting conjunctions--he has an exact conjunction with saturn and mars in aries in the 10th house. saturn gives mars a capricorn-ish, earth sign flavor. the way he asserts himself is going to be logical, practical, he does not like change, there's a lot of anxiety with action. this is amplified by them being in the 10th house. saturn gets a boost here because the 10th house is the capricorn house--it likes it here. they are more loosely conjunct his retrograde mercury (some trouble communicating) and his sun. they all get that same practical capricorn flavor.
mars in aries: you cannot kill me in any way that matters :) capricorn in aries: hm. technically. they can. what if, for example, your local coffee shop rearranges the furniture mars in aries: 1 fear
his cancer rising (22 cancer) exactly squares mars and saturn (22 aries) and more loosely mercury and his sun. it's like his identity/his life purpose/life direction as a nurturing, healing person who also struggles with vulnerability and being a bit judgmental sometimes shut up about it runs up against his 10th house work self, for better or worse. fire (aries) and water (cancer) don't get along, their goals are different.
he has other interesting things in his chart but i'm really trying to just to aspects right now lmao this is so long!!
jongho has an exact opposition between jupiter and pluto, so that's a fun bounce between
jupiter in gemini: man i love to be social, free, not taking shit serious, talking to people about whatever, and pluto in sagittarius: get AWAY from me i am LEAVING goodBYYYYYE
if you are extremely generous with your orbs, he could have uranus to quote unquote soften that--sort of like, idek i do my shit my way and it's chill. it's a big orb though so i don't really count it hardcore.
he also loosely has his virgo mars anchoring the opposition into a t-square--it creates sort of a versus situation. like hongjoong, he has a virgo mars (the gotta WORK (but not in a showy capricorn way, i'm genuinely doing the work stop showing off)) struggling to balance the opposing impulses of pluto and jupiter.
gotta wORK... on what? gotta work with people in a social way? or gotta work by getting the hell out of here independently? he can vacillate between the two extremes, avoid one of the points until his saturn return clomps up to say heyyyy girlllllll or some mixture of the two.
wooyoung has one opposition between planets!
mercury in scorpio (15) in the second house: i wanna get into the deep weeds with people, i want to skip the small talk and trauma dump on each other, i wanna say the TRUTH i don't CARE if it's "nice" also i'm fairly practical and critical, in contrast to how i am all or nothing motherfucker anyway i need to passionately argue my ideas and also i need to ice you out, i'm complex okay!! gOD you just don't UNDERSTAND the exhilarating highs and perilous lows of LIFE like I DOOO versus saturn in taurus (15) in the eighth house: oh shit i gotta keep myself in check and be normal so i can handle other people's problems and not lose all my money and not transform too much it will make people uncomfortable fuck i'm afraid of death i need to have a stable foundation jesus christ stop being so emotional and focus on what is practical!! god!!!!
there is no easy way out of that one i'm afraid.
instead, there's a t-square!!! the action point is his uranus in aquarius in the fifth house so there's issues with feeling like being his own unique person is in itself disruptive. he fears rejection--probably went through that a lot as a child (5th house). on the bright side, having to deal with the squares will help him gain resolution in this seesaw. the vibes are:
i have to restrict myself and be a normal bitch gotta WORK, gotta make that MONEY make PURSE
no wait. i have to be my weird ass self and express that creatively! my uniqueness is my charming point! it is so fun and awesome to be a little weirdo!
u know what actually let's connect deeply i wanna talk about emotional TRUTHS i wanna bear my SOUL i'm so RIGHT about everything and if i talk at you enough you will learn the truth!!
oops changed my mind goodbye everyone, i have reinvented myself again and i need to run away forever i'm a manic pixie dream girl and i've ghosted you. :)
yeosang has a grand trine! with a generous orb, so it's less strong than it could be. a rare aspect that is all about ease. again, like all aspects and chart patterns, there are pros and cons. a grand trine is a big ole triangle with 3 planets or points in the same element and they all get along great. yeosang's ascendant in aries is trine pluto in sagittarius is trine venus in leo. his life purpose/direction, his understanding of power death and rebirth and his desire for love, what he likes, his values, etc are always chatting away in endless circles and it's very cohesive but it can really lack direction.
pluto: i don't know where do u wanna go ascendant: idk were do u wanna go venus: idk where do u wanna go
like that. there's a lot of potential here: the newness and excitement and babyness of an aries rising, the intensity and passion of pluto, the love and harmony and creativity of venus, but it lacks direction in a major way.
like san and hongjoong, yeosang also has a mars and jupiter opposition. san and hongjoong's are exact, though (so like jupiter at 18 pisces is exactly opposite mars at 18 virgo), so they are stronger. yeosang's is more chill but still present.
jupiter in aries in the 1st house: i love being alive! i feel fresh and brand new. optimism is so easy for me! i act quickly and i want what i want but also if you want something i'll get it for you! i have strong values and i'm super honest and i'm not afraid of that in any way :). everything will work out!! mars in libra in the 7th house: haha... a decision? never heard of her hahah.... it's fine whatever u want is cool.... .. . i don't really wanna get it myself so uh. well if u think it's okay???? do you think it's okay?????? does everyone else think it's okay???? i'm very stressed and mars is in detriment here so i am uncomfortable but it's okay i'll be fine whatever u want is okay with me so long as the group is happy right???
it's also interesting because as an aries rising, his chart ruler is mars in libra--it's gonna flavor his whole personality strongly. normally in that opposition jupiter would overrule mars in its detriment, but because mars is the chart ruler that side of his personality gets emphasized more.
yunho has a locomotive chart pattern--that's like when 3/4 parts of the wheel have planets in them. hongjoong also has this. these people tend to be more driven towards goals, and there's one planet that acts as the engine--for hongjoong it's his virgo mars, which makes sense, and yunho's is his gemini moon in the eighth house. his engine is social-emotional in a light gemini sort of way not in an intense water moon sort of way. it's also square his pisces mercury in the 4th house (the cancer house, home/roots/foundation). to me that's like
gemini moon in the 8th: emotions are interesting to me in an abstract way but they don't really affect me that much, i'm always able to see the logical side of things. i'm really good at talking people through their feelings and i love to talk about mine too--but i do not want to actually feel them, ew gross that does not make me feel safe and feeling safe is extremely important to me! anyway what feeling i don't know what you're talking about my mood is totally different now i don't remember her? yeah i was upset but that was thirty seconds ago catch up! pisces mercury in the 4th: that person over there is sad i can feel it :( be nice to them :( i am gonna be really careful so i don't offend them :( anyway there is no one right answer i could be wrong idk i'm used to everything changing all the time so it's not a big deal do u think that person needs a hug :( gemini moon, trying to not feel anything: what are u doing here
this seems like a very helpful and productive square that keeps pisces and gemini--both mutable signs--from going too far in either direction. the house placements feel more unstable though.
uranus is also trine the moon so that weighs the scale more on the detachment side. uranus in aquarius in the 3rd (gemini house) is air on air on air, but also very stubborn and obsessed with being free. goodBYYYYEYYEE in a planet.
his sun is also conjunct jupiter in aries which makes his personality larger-than-life or like, expanded in some way. known. success comes easier. it's also in the fifth house of creativity and self expression which is a fun, carefree vibe, youthful leo energy. can get an ego, but he's friendly!
venus at home in taurus in the 6th conjunct saturn in taurus in the 6th--that's like saturn squeezing the life out of venus a little bit. holding it down.
venus in taurus: everyone likes me i'm cute and lovable and things come so easy to me! i love items and feeling safe and at home! man this is a soft hoodie i have achieved fulfillment. i know the perfect thing to smooth over this awkward social situation because things gotta stay stable it's insanely important to me but u know it's cool, i'm so friendly and personable :) saturn in taurus: have u ever considered that everyone betrays u venus in taurus: everyone.... could betray me. i... could betray me...... ... . better not let anyone in emotionally!!! i don't trust that shit! but if you do stay we're for life, so. ride or die.
anyway i'm interested in doing more astrology for ateez, these bitches go crazy. almost all of them have very active uranus and they have either a gemini moon (yunho, san, hongjoong) or a cancer moon (wooyoung, seonghwa, mingi, yeosang) or they are jongho, who has either an aries or a pisces moon depending on when he was born. what the hell bro. wild.

Explain the basic: Divination tool
Desclaimer: Everything I will talk about is information that I got from books and sites online and even videos on YouTube. In my years of practice, I learned as much as I could out of curiosity and what works best for me. I suggest you do the same by learning as much as you can on your own (I will be here making posts teaching this kind of stuff) from multiple sources.
As always, I will love to hear your thoughts! and if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them! If you liked it, leave a comment or reblog (that is always appreciated!). If you are interested in more methods, check the masterlist!

As a divination witch, I obviously work a lot with the divine, and what I'm about to say are just a few of the things you may use or perform in this type of witchcraft work.
A word of caution, though: I've worked with divine magic for a long time; don't get into it unless you know what you're doing, and especially not without defending yourself. In this list, I will clearly explain what each item does and how it works, and some of this is for a more "advanced" sort of witchcraft.

In witchcraft, there are numerous divination tools practitioners use to gain insight into the past, present, or future or to communicate with spiritual entities. I personally believe that it is the tool that chooses you, not you choosing the tool. Here are some common ones:
Tarot Cards:
A deck of 78 cards with various symbols and images that are interpreted in readings to gain insight into a question or situation. These 78 cards are divided into major arcana and minor arcana. The major arcana may change with the deck that you choose, but the main symbolism is the same, and sometimes you will find decks that have more than just 78 cards.
Runes:
A rune is a letter in a set of related alphabets known as runic alphabets native to the Germanic peoples. The runes are an ancient method of divination used even before medieval times. Runes can be made of stone, wood, or other materials, and each symbol has its own meaning. You can easily make your own runes.
Crystal Ball Scrying/Scrying Mirror:
This requires gazing into a crystal ball or other reflective surface, such as a mirror, to obtain visions or insights. You do it by just looking at the shiny surface in low light, with nothing to distract you. Your vision will "blur," allowing you to experience visions or gain insights. There is a good reason why this happens. It's essentially our brain getting tired of our reflection and starting to make up new stories, but it's not all psychology since, as we all know, mirrors are gateways. So it is advised not to try this method unless you are an experienced witch or just lack protection, as you may invite something you do not want to invite.
Pendulum Divination:
A pendulum, often a crystal or metal weight on a chain, is used to answer yes-or-no questions or to indicate directions or choices. The pendalum moves on its own, and before you start actually using it, I suggest you ask the pendalum which direction is yes and which is no. Much like the Ouija board, this object can be used to talk to spirits and ghosts, so be careful to always say thanks and say goodbye once you finish a session, even if it is not the primary use. Better safe than sorry.
Tea Leaf Reading:
Interpretation of patterns formed by tea leaves at the bottom of a cup after drinking. Practitioners see symbols and images in the leaves and use them for divination. that's it. that's the tea.
Astrology:
Reading and interpreting the positions and movements of celestial bodies to gain insight into personality traits, events, and relationships. that can be the oroscope, your birth chart etc.
Ouija Board:
A flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and other symbols. Participants use a planchette to spell out messages supposedly from spirits or other supernatural entities. This is one of those tools that you don't have to play around with. It is not a game you can literally get into if you are not careful enough. The way that the Ouija board works is that you place your finger on the planchette; if you don't have a planchette, a metal ring will do just fine. Once you position it, you say, "Hello, im --- and i here to talk to only benevolent spirits, and only benevolent spirits can come true and talk to me." Once this part is done, it is NOT THE PLANCHETTE THAT MOVES YOU MOVE THE PLANCHETTE Hollywood lies to you; what a surprise! Once you are done chit-chatting with the spirits, make sure the spirits say goodbye. Say your goodbye, and once you are done, close the space and banish everything "bad" that may have come true. Again, better safe than sorry.
Numerology:
The study of the mystical significance of numbers and their influence on human life and events. a good example will be angel numbers like 444 or 555
Dream Interpretation:
Analyzing the content and symbolism of dreams to gain insight into subconscious thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Dreams can tell a lot of our personal lives, and 100% of dreams know what's up before we ourselves know. Trust and follow your dreams.
These tools are often used in combination with intuition, ritual, and personal symbolism, and the effectiveness of each tool can vary depending on the practitioner's skill and connection with their craft.
