Happy First of May!!
Hello! May is EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) awareness month! As a person with suspected EDS and with chronic symptoms, this is a very important topic to me. EDS is hard to diagnose, and many patients fly under the radar of healthcare professionals which can cause them to suffer lack of treatment and forces them to live with their painful symptoms.
More Information about EDS and associated variations has been attached below and the infographs were originally found on an instagram account that I follow at the username the_chronic_chronicles

I hesitate to say pro-lifers have been dropping the ball on this, per se, but it seems to me we could be highlighting the grossly inappropriate hospital miscarriage care (or lack thereof) that has resulted from a pro-abortion culture, and the concerted effort within the medical profession to turn victims of miscarriage into Schroedinger's Baby. "It's only worth grieving over if the mother is grieving, so don't act like grief is the default reaction." Meanwhile, the quietly grieving mother is treated by hospital staff like her highly medicalized miscarriage is a routine procedure, nothing is wrong, no one has died, and she's not a mother.

able-bodied people will act like getting a mobility aid must be some tragic expirience where you resign yourself to being burdened by your disability forever meanwhile I'm over here counting down the days until my custom made knee braces come in like a kid waiting for Christmas absolutely giddy thinking about all the things I'm gonna be able to do once my joints have the support they need

saying again that if a mobility aid or piece of assistive tech or whatever will improve your quality of life and make it easier to get through your day just fucking use them!! you don’t need a diagnosis to use something that will make your day-to-day life easier. a diagnosis will maybe give you some more specialized ideas for what assistive devices or mobility aids might be useful but you do not have to wait until you have one to start using things that reduce symptoms or make life easier to manage.
