I’m so proud of people living with chronic health conditions. That shit is HARD. Idk who needs to hear this, but if no one else has said it: I’m proud of you. You’re sticking it out through so much pain and grief. That’s no small feat.

Every small thing you do for yourself health adds up. The grief is heavy and it comes from a place of love. The grief knows the pain is wronging you.

I’m proud of you. I hope on the good days you can be proud of yourself.

For low energy/Chronic fatigue

Study in the mornings before classes before you crash from executive dysfunction or exhaustion (spoonies know what I mean)

Study in bed if you've no energy.

Keep your laptop/note book with a mug of pens on your bedside locker so you don't have to get up to get them,

if you don't have the energy to sit up, or it's too painful but you still want/need to work, work lying down, like you would reading a book before bed. Nobody is going to judge you and nobody is going to see you, you're getting the work done how you can and that is something to be proud of, not embarrassed of.

Work on your phone if you can, it's less effort and typing is easier than writing and your phone weighs less than your textbook

Online flashcards or online quizzes. You justuse your brain, and click to see if you got itright, or you click answer a, b, or c. Or just anything online.

Guys I’m having such a rough pain day. Woke up at 5 am crying from it, all my usual stuff and some new stuff barely took the edge off. Probably the worst pain day I’ve had in years, I’m just miserable.

Husband took the kiddo on a little adventure so I could rest, and asked if I wanted anything from the toy store. I jokingly said yeah, anything Star Trek, and look at what they brought home for me!!!

I managed to shower and wash my hair without feeling faint, dizzy, out of breath, seeing stars and I felt perfectly okay after showering 🥺

Today, on the “rarest” of days felt like a good time to spread awareness.

My disease hasn’t even been fully identified yet. But even if your disease has a name and is established in the literature, getting a diagnosis and treatment can be difficult. Getting respect from medical professionals may be even harder.

Patient portals are great for their convenience, but I sometimes wish they didn’t show you test results. Once I get these labs done today I’m going to try my best not to look at the results and wait for my doctor to look at them and call me. I must not look at the results. I must not look at the results!!!

Scan your textbooks

Im going into 5th year which is a whole new course, which means new books and when I was nerding our about my lovely new textbooks (I annoyed my mam so much asking her if she had gotten the Booklist yet because getting new school books is my favourite part of the summer holidays) and I noticed the codes in the back of the books.

If you go to the publishers websites, you can get the e-books for free along with PowerPoints and videos and quizzes on all of the topics. It is amazing!!! Many of these are interactive and certain books have videos with animations explaining processes (I love this feature in my geo book) but not only is this just generally amazing and super handy, it is incredible for if you have poor attendance at school because instead of missing out on the PowerPoints and having to see if anyone will give you yesterday's notes, the book hands them to you. My chronically ill ass is in love!!!
