let's have fun!! rules & quick faq under cut
blog explanation & rules
i'll be drawing the drdt characters in my fuit gumy style (example above, and also it needs to be spelt exactly that way). ideally i post one thing a day, but real life circumstances might help or hinder me
requests are currently open. i can't promise that i'll get to every request and i don't know if i can answer every ask/question, but i'll try my best!
i do not Bite but please be nice to me!! i am just a 1) gremlin 2) a Student who needs stability and routine
i can draw headcanons, aus, and such, but i'll be adhering to canon most of the time. also, i love weird combos too if you can find an explanation for them interacting whether platonically, romantically, or a secret third thing
if a request has multiple characters, please specify if you mean it romantically or not, so romantic interactions can be given ship tags as well. if it isn't specified in the request, i'll interpret it as platonic by default (i'm pretty dense and have trouble interpreting interactions sometimes)
crossovers/referring to other series can be requested, but are very unlikely to be actually drawn. for me to finish them, i'd need to know the other series. However, if your request happens to be something along the lines of "[insert fuit gumy here] with [pokemon / digimon of choice]", I will absolutely not complain. I would be honored!!
i will not be accepting requests that involve canon danganronpas AND fanganronpas. this blog has always meant to be focused on drdt first and foremost, and i'm content to let it stay that way (for now). although characters from other fanganronpas may Very Rarely appear in Original Situations!
(re: full explanation for the above two rules)
i won't draw, read any of these asks, or interact with certain blogs if they contain: nsfw (out of personal comfort!), hate speech (what are you doing here), incest/pedophilia/bestiality
("proship" was originally on the above point, but i have since realized that i've misunderstood the definition of the term to mean "problematic content" in general. i apologize for my mistake, and have elaborated on what specifically i'd like to avoid! people can ship whatever they like; just ignore it if you don't like it. although the worst i'll do with this blog is still cartoonish depictions of violence, i thought it's better to explain while i can, even if it seems unnecessary)
this blog is NOT spoiler free! most of my art here is 99% going to be unserious shitposts anyways, but this is here just in case. also since drdt is 16+ this blog is 16+ too
any of my art posted in this blog can be used for personal use with credit (icons, headers, wallpapers, discord emotes for private servers and any other social media that lets you do that kinda stuff), but (for now) please don't repost in other social media (you can just share links if you'd like!)
this is a recent discovery but I can't reply to replies for some reason. if it doesn't require immediate attention, i'll reply to any questions in one big post tagged "answering asks"
quick faq before anyone asks
call me gremlyn (18+)! you can find me on @thatseitagremlin (drdt sideblog) / @iamjustagremlin (limbus main)
for this blog i draw with miro . com by default so i can restrict myself to a limited brush and color palette. this helps my brain not get distracted when drawing. depending on what tomfoolery i come up with or what requests i get i might use other apps though!
whit is the posterboy for this blog because he's my favorite character. my blorbo, if you will. my other faves are j, nico, and xander (i feel a Lot of cuteness aggression with xander specifically) if you're curious
i'm an omnivore and am fine with most ships but if i had to pick a ship to fight for it'd probably be charwhit or areiden. i also like jarei but i'm not sure if i prefer it platonically, romantically, or a secret third thing, and i'm not bothered enough to find out soon
also, do you guys know how to run an ask blog. because i don't. but once again, let's be nice and have fun!!

TMNT AU Propaganda whooo
Hello, I'm back again. With fic this time.
I bingeread all of Call Me Here (I Will Appear) by @callmehere-iwillappear a little while back and it's so good! So heartbreaking but so heartwarming at the same time! And with both IMBI and CMH both being in the @tmntaucompetition we decided they are ghost buddies, and then they drew this adorable artwork and I had to write a little something because listen I need good things to happen to both of these boys.
So here you go! And please vote for both I May Be Invisible and Call Me Here in the TMNT AU polls tomorrow!
(And also 2 Arms Left, those boys aren't really in this fic but listen if you vote for both IMBI and 2AL then Ell and I will face off in the next round please it's so funny-)
cough ANYWAY HERE'S THE DRABBLE OK BYE (spoilers for both fics within)
Was getting abruptly kidnapped to an interdimensional sports tournament the weirdest thing that had ever happened to them? Hard to say, but it was certainly a surprise anyway. Right in the middle of Leo's very dramatic catatonia arc, too...
The place is a madhouse. There's so many different versions of himself and his brothers, some of them older, some of them missing limbs, and some of them from different universes entirely. There's cheerleading. There's fighting. There's an older Michelangelo giving all the visible Leos bats for some reason.
Leo guesses he shouldn't be too disappointed that even in this crowd, only his own specific brothers can interact with him; he hasn't had dramatic life-saving encounters with any of these other people, after all. He keeps getting walked through, talked over, and he can't very well take part in the actual basketball playing.
But it's fine! He can vibe! He's so cool with vibing. His brothers seem to be enjoying themselves, after all, and Pizza Supreme knows after the weeks they've been having they deserve something fun and... probably not life-threatening (he's still eying those bats, though). So he can just... watch. Spectate.
So fun.
He's standing by while Raph chats with a whole group of assorted Raphs, surveying the diverse crowd when it happens.
His eyes lock with another Leo's.
The other Leo seems just as startled as he is to be seen - his mouth pops open in surprise, posture going stiff in a mirror of Leo's own reaction. Other than that, there's no immediate signs; he's not see-through, or floating, or anything else one might expect. The only immediate difference he can see is that the three clones of his brothers standing near the other Leo are all wearing their own version of Donnie's goggles.
And yet, he still knows.
"Hey, I'm going over there for a sec," he says over his shoulder to Raph.
"What? Hey, don't wander off!"
"It's fine, big guy, I'll stay in range."
He trots off across the court, not bothering to dodge anyone who steps in his path. The other Leo and his group aren't too far away, and once he gets there, the two of them look each other up and down, like wary dogs unsure about entering another's space.
He gives the other Leo a very serious look, which is mirrored back to him.
And the other Leo starts them off.
"What's a ghost's favorite fruit?"
"Booberries. What's a ghost's favorite car?"
"A Boo-gatti. Why don't ghosts go out in the rain?"
It dampens their spirits. What-"
"Who are you talking to?" the other Donnie asks, turning their way. He has his goggles pulled down. Leo gives him a wave, but he doesn't seem to notice.
"Just another Leo," says the other Leo, before turning back to him. "You can't be seen by the goggles?"
"Nope. That hasn't worked for us."
"But I saw you say something to your Raph."
"Yeah! Raph can hear me, Mikey can see me, and Donnie can touch me."
"Huh. Sounds inconvenient!"
"Oh, it is." Leo shrugs. "Curses, man, what can you do?"
Something quick passes over the other Leo's face; he only notices because it's so like his own. "You were cursed?"
"Yep! Some bad guy thought it would be a good way to get rid of me. You?"
The other Leo's smile droops only slightly. "...Do you know about the Prison Dimension?"
Leo's own smile drops, and he hunches in on himself, which just makes the other Leo's grin slip further. It hurts; he was there, for real, and again too recently in his mind, and now he can say this with certainty, with clarity:
No Leo deserved that.
But this Leo, who has persisted after death, who's with his family now... even if it's a tragedy, Leo can admire that. And they can see him - they can apparently hear him, and Leo knows from experience that that's everything.
(And still not quite enough.)
"...That sucks," he says, because what else do you say?
The other Leo shrugs, looking a little self-conscious. "It's not too bad. Donnie's making me a body."
"Oh, that'll be sweet." Leo picks his grin back up. "Wait, can you actually touch stuff? Are you going to haunt a robot?"
"I can if I focus." He looks smug. "It takes practice, but I'm getting better."
"Whoa, nice. I can't touch anything other than Donnie. Can't float or anything, either."
"Me either!" The other Leo throws his arms up dramatically. "What a ripoff, right?"
Leo matches the movement. "That's what I've been saying!"
"Man. It's nice to finally talk to someone who understands."
"Heh, same here," says Leo. He reaches out to give the other Leo a friendly pat on the shoulder.
He expects his hand to just pass through. He doesn't expect it to connect.
It's not really feeling, not like when he touches Donnie. It's more like when he touches his own body - his hand stops moving through the air, but he's not getting any tactile sensation from it.
He doubts the other Leo can really feel it either, but the way his eyes latch on the point of contact tells Leo everything he needs to know.
He doesn't hesitate, just wraps his arm around the other Leo and pulls him in for a hug. He doesn't resist, just puts his own arms around Leo, and he can't feel it but he's pretty sure he's holding tight.
He doesn't ask how long it's been since he's been hugged; he feels like he doesn't have to.
They stay that way almost a minute (and he's glad for their reputation as Leos that no one can see them), before the other Leo pulls back. His eyes are glassy and his smile wavering, but it's real and it's there, and Leo can't help but smile back.
He decides to save them before this gets too mushy.
"Hey, you said you can touch things, right?"
"If I focus."
"Well!" Leo moves so his arm is draped around the other Leo's shoulders, walking him toward one of the goals. "Get ready to focus on making sick dunks."
Instantly, the other Leo's eyes light up with delight. "Ooooh ho ho ho yes. We are going to freak some people out!"
He offers his fist, and Leo gleefully bumps it.

2.0 SPOILERS and random thoughts
So the hotel building was a prison, right? It sort of makes sense, hotels and prisons have similar layouts. But imagine, the place of concentrated suffering of hundreds of thousands of prisoners, or maybe more (look how big it is), now turned into a weird supernatural hotel - what could possibly go wrong? (what if they kept prisoners in dreams too, and the dreamworld is a former prison dreamworld. And they were fed Soulglad to keep them docile). These cells were quite spacious though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way Sunday talked to somebody in the end reminded me of Cocolia. Is it possible a stellaron is involved here too?
The dead characters - no way Robin and Firefly will stay dead. They look playable, and you don't kill characters before they become playable (unless it's Qiqi or Blade)
I have a theory based on nothing, that Robin is alive and is actually behind whatever is going on. (Maybe her plan is for all these disruptive guests to kill each other in the name of harmony) She's in cahoots with Sparkle who pretended to be the body.
Sparkle - with her ability to shapeshift, aren't we supposed to be constantly paranoid? Anybody can be Sparkle. But also, seeing how vicious and unhinged she is, she feels like she should be the main antagonist in her own story arc, not just an extra. I mean even Sampo seems apprehensive of her.
I understand people who were enamored with Firefly and saddened with her death, but I personally weren't, because for me her part has the outward appearance of a romantic story, but inside it's just two hours of lies and tutorials. I also saw theories about her different identity and If it's true I hope the writers know what they are doing. Also why is our character so sure she's dead? Don't people who die in a dream just wake up in real world?
If Duke Inferno is dead, and stays dead, and his cool gang is never mentioned again, it's going to be the funniest thing in this game yet.
BTW how did Acheron allegedly enter the hotel using Duke invitation? Aventurine knows that we know that it's very hard (he witnessed our problems with DH's invitation). Make it make sense.
Gallagher - either he's up to something or he's extremely incompetent. He let go an actual stawaway and the huy who fits the description he just provided (Caelus - a guy with grey hair). Also it was him personally who stole confiscated Aventurine's stuff.
Tumblr media
Speaking of which. I think Aventurine mentioned "cornerstones", plural. So it's not just his aventurine, but others too? Ratio implied that these things are crucial for their success and that Aventurine might be in danger from IPC without his rock, I wonder what's that about, and why Aventurine is so dismissive about losing them.
Anyways I'm still curious why IPC sent these two. It looks like they decided to achieve their goals on Penacony in a more or less peaceful way (unlike their military invasion on Jario-6). So why did they send Dr. Ratio, notorious for having the social grace of a nuclear bomb, and Aventurine, who isn't doing that great either.
I wonder how the game expects us to see Aventurine. The game probably expects us to see him as slimy but charming and dangerous. And yeah, he somehow (conveniently behind the scenes) managed to come to some agreement with Black Swan, but otherwise he fails miserably in most of his interactions.
When we first meet him, he pretends that he has the power to help us with our invitation problem, awkwardly compliments Robin and Sunday, tries to buy our friendship with a ridiculously small sum (well it was probably all the money he had left). Then he tries to intimidate us but gets spooked by Acheron. Ratio leaves in the middle of their conversation, Sparkle catches him stalking her and roasts him, and so on.
So my current VERY subjective impression is that he's quite desperate at this point. He constantly fails but tries to save face. He lost his confidence after his stuff was confiscated, he can't count on buying people's loyalty with giant bribes as he probably used to.
He obviously had a difficult childhood, he had to claw his way up, and IPC doesn't seem like a place that nurtures one's appreciation for genuine human connections. He probably learned to see genuine feelings as liability. As the result, he only sees people as assets, and "friends" as tools. He talks a lot about friends and trust, but never even pretends that he wants to achieve genuine trust or friendship with anybody. (I can continue but this post is long enough and it'll probably become obsolete with the next update anyway)
And I know it's probably too much to hope for, but maybe he'll get some character development, making him more open to the idea of genuine human interaction.
I already have seen a lot of interesting theories about what's going on, and I really hope the game won't just ignore all these hints and details it gave us, and all these things are actually important.

"How easy/hard is it for cities to be born, and what cities do you think will be born next?"
Got this set of questions from a reader, but I can't post the actual ask due to spoilers. I've paraphrased the questions, and here are the answers, sans spoilers. This post is long, so first a cut:
Hi there! I'm afraid I have to answer this privately because of the spoilers in your ask. But since my reply contains info that might be interesting to other readers of my books, I'm going to publicly post a redacted version of my answer, paraphrasing your q without the spoilers. I'll leave your name out of it, unless you prefer otherwise.
Re cities being born -- it's not an "easy/hard" thing, it's a "critical mass" thing. Basically as more and more minds focus on that city and imbue it with their beliefs and imaginings, these become the metaphysical building blocks of city life, which build up and interact. Let's call them, uh, "citimino acids," lol. Many things can disrupt this buildup -- the city's character changing drastically and quickly, natural or societal disasters, a hit TV show a la "Miami Vice" from back in the day. These changes introduce fresh citimino acids, and some of the new ones are incompatible with some of the old ones, so the primordial soup stops churning for a while as the city develops a new character or reputation. But if the soup is allowed to churn up again, for a period that varies per city, then the acids eventually spark into life. At this point, the process changes to something more like human pregnancy, because humans are driving it. The physical city starts to "gestate" a metaphysical self: a mind, free will, whatever you want to call it. (I'll call it a soul.) At this point city avatars start being able to sense the developing meta-city; that's how the Summit knows to send someone when the "due date" draws close. Proto-avatars of that city can sense it, too, as Neek did in the short story/prologue of TCWB.
This process eventually happens in most new cities that develop any kind of distinctive culture. It also happens in old cities that have been through a period of upheaval, like a conquest or a major disaster. Complete destruction of a city (see: Pompeii) would obviously kill its soul. But for cities that only get partially destroyed, the city's soul (and avatar) survives on the sufferance of belief. If a city gets conquered or its population killed by a disaster or something equally horrific, every human being who hears about it is going to have a thought about that city. If enough of those people think, "Well, that's just life in [City], its citizens ought to be used to this kind of thing," then the city retains its character, stays alive, and the avatar lives. (See: Istanbul.) But if enough people think, "Oh no, the [City] that I knew is gone! It's never going to be the same, what a shame, we went there on our honeymoon," then the physical city might be rebuilt, but the city's soul (and avatar) wil die. A new soul might eventually be reborn, but it will be a different soul. Roman Empire-era Rome is very different from the Rome of today. That city has had several avatars down the ages.
Anyway, tl;dr, colonialism is why there's so much city birth happening in the Western Hemisphere. And all the technological and cultural revolutions the world has had in the past few centuries have created other clusters; consider all the new "planned cities" in Africa and Asia, for example. So because of all this global upheaval, the Summit is going to be very busy for a while.
(This is stuff I sketched out a few years back, when I was figuring out how "city magic" worked. I tried not to put too much of it in the books, however. Just because I suffer for my art doesn't mean everybody else has to.)
Off the top of my head, US cities that will definitely (eventually) get born include, in addition to the ones mentioned in the books: Los Angeles (per the original short story), New Orleans again, the Bay Area, and Boston. But feel free to imagine more, because I haven't exactly visited every city in America so my impressions of them are naturally going to be biased.
Outside the US, I honestly don't know enough about other countries to tell. I would guess most of the 10 largest cities in Central and South America, but it won't be in order of size, it'll be in order of culture/renown/public opinion.
Whew, long answer. Hope that answers your questions. And thanks!

also keen to see how river/sid is done in the show! in the books it's kind of like "here's a pair who have a very vague flirtation" to boom undying love when she shows up again lol. saw someone post an interview with the showrunner on reddit where he was asked if they're going to do anything with river/louisa and people were VERY against that lol. while i don't love it there might be more of a basis for that in the books that river/sid (...until river/sid actually happens). they're like the only 2 who seem to genuinely enjoy each other's company (since we were robbed of an emma/louisa bestie era :( )and there's some throwaway lines like louisa wondering how she should feel about river choosing to stay with sid, and if she had a right to feel anything, etc. anyway i'm good with anything as long as olivia cooke comes back, i know she's booked and busy but can't imagine a recast working as well
My response under the cut to avoid spoiling from the books!
first of all...BIG SAME TO LOUISA/EMMA BESTIES ERA please. She was one of the best parts of the books, and they did that really cruel cold open in Joe Country that led to...well... 🥲🥲🥲
Cuz I really like when the Slow Horses have interactions among each other, but also outside of it. And I love that she is the more uhm "stereotypical" beauty type (at least as described in the books) but she is so much more than that.
Emma Flyte my love 💖
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You officially have me even more excited for s4 now 😆 (She and JK Coe are the ones I'm looking forward to most. I hate Claude but I am keen to see him because of James Callis haha)
Okay,,,, back to the topic at hand.... I also agree with the book hinting more of the River/Louisa bond, and truthfully, when I read those parts, I can't decide if I ship it romantically or platonically, or maybe both idk??? But I just like that they are both the "capable" and "level headed" and closest to normal in Slough House haha. I think this is especially highlighted in London Rules, when they attempted to have that "stable" "normalcy" by having River go with JK and Louisa with Shirley. I literally cannot get over the pairings in that book, actually, but maybe I should reserve that for a different post haha
Tumblr media
I absolutely hope we get Olivia back again! Considering s5 has been greenlit, and we get our first hint of her being alive in this book, there is a lot of ways they can setup her reappearance. I certainly think it will help boost our chances for a season 6 if we get a powerhouse like her return to the show 😅
They also have a potential (if they really want to establish some kind of romance on the show) to have a better build up for those two. The only thing I gripe about it, it is they weren't able to sprinkle some of that in River for s2&3. I wish they did, but you're right anon, Liv is booked and busy, so I feel like it can go either way...
Tumblr media
All in all tho, I'm just really happy at how the show adapted the books. They don't necessarily have to keep each story detail beat by beat, but they really captured the essence of how "useless" they all are, but still somehow manage to be involved with, and even solve, the biggest MI5 cases, not even the Park can handle 😆
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for the fun question!! It makes me so happy to talk to someone who loves both book and show like I do 🥰💖

[Genshin] Thoughts on 3.3's Archon Quest, Inversion of Genesis
This man took 140 pulls to come home fml
// 3.3 ARCHON QUEST SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED //
.
.
.
.
.
.
Overall thoughts, I liked it a lot!! I went into this expecting the Therapy Arc (tm) and while we did get that, I did not expect things to play out the way they did. I really enjoyed it though, and I think there's a lot to be said in the execution about how trauma affects people (but more on that later).
Starting off, it seems like Scaramouche has chilled tf out considerably from the end of the 3.2 quest, probably a side effect from dropping 50 feet headfirst into concrete and then waking up to find out he's been fired. Nahida once again proves she's best girl in the first five minutes of the quest -- she's kind yet pragmatic, harboring Scaramouche while also putting him to use, and giving him a huge piece of a puzzle he's been missing.
I do wish we could have seen more of Niwa and Nagamasa's relationship with Scaramouche, though. It would've made the subsequent scenes hit so much harder.
Dottore putting Niwa's actual heart into the device was really surprising. I guess it served to further convince Scaramouche of Niwa's betrayal?
Scaramouche's info about our sibling is also very interesting. 👀 We know beforehand that after crash landing on Teyvat, the abyss twin woke up and saw Khaenri'ah being destroyed. This tracks with what Scaramouche tells us, that Khaenri'ah was our twin's "first destination after arriving to this world." I thought that that meant our twin just saw the destruction and chaos raining down immediately and left, but I guess they must have stayed in Khaenri'ah for a while if Pierro remembers them. (Gee, thanks for leaving us at the crash zone for days?? Weeks? 💀)
I'm not sure what is meant by "Plus, [the Abyss Twin] only came to this world because the heavens responded to the summoning." The twins "crash landed" on Teyvat twice -- is Scaramouche talking about the first time, or the second? I guess the second would make more sense, since the "heavens responding" could be the Unknown God trapping us, but in that case, what about the first time we crash landed? Also, what summoning are they talking about? Nahida mentioned that if she destroyed a Gnosis, the Heavenly Principles might respond... was the Cataclysm the result of something similar happening?
Anyways, after that lore drop, Scaramouche tries to undo his existence to give his old friends a second chance at life. ;-; All of his anger at the world was a result of the "betrayals" he lived through, so to find out that Niwa never betrayed him at all... I wonder how much of his decision was him wanting to do right by Niwa and the others, and how much of it was him wanting to just disappear from the world. D:
It's a little strange that Nahida tells us to wait things out in a random hotel after all that, but I guess she wants to make sure we're set up with accommodations...? xD
I really am starting to like the traveler and Paimon's interactions more and more. Honestly, I don't remember much of them prior to the 3.0 archon quest, but I appreciate how much the traveler thinks of Paimon's well being ("the truth might be very distressing for Paimon...") and how much Paimon tries to cheer us up, or change the topic when she senses the traveler is feeling down. :D
(It's also pretty cute, and classic Paimon how she lists off her favorite foods to try and take her mind off things LOL)
The next couple of scenes take place in Inazuma -- I can't remember if we've traveled to different nations during archon quests before, but it's a nice change of pace, and makes complete sense with what's going on. I appreciate the knowledge that the "new Kazuha" is the same one we've known ;u;
I was really excited when I saw that the prerequisite for this archon quest was Kazuha's story quest, because I thought that he might appear here. Oh well. 😔
Nahida's way of storing information in an abstract fairytale was very clever. I wonder if she does this with other things as well?
The fairytale itself is very cute, but I did find myself laughing at the last scene with Scara's angry kitten eyes lol.
The most interesting thing about the fairy tale, however, is the monster that represents "Dottore." Since Dottore was "Zandik" before, I guess the "monster" part is Dottore seeing himself as different/worse than other people? Anyways, if we take the fairytale at face value it means that he tried to live amongst other people for a while, but still hated himself for being a monster, and hated others for not being able to see it.
In the fairytale's version of events, Dottore sees Scaramouche getting along with the foxes, and gets pissed off. In reality, Dottore had already joined the Fatui at that point. Did something similar happen to Dottore in the past, though? The Feather of the Pale Flame set mentions that he was chased away from his hometown, which doesn't really give enough detail.
I doubt we'll get these answers for a long time, probably not until Dottore becomes playable.
In the next couple of scenes, we see Wanderer! Throughout this archon quest so far, I'm thinking that we'll undo the damage Scaramouche caused and give him proper therapy (tm) or something that kickstarts the costume change. It was after our conversation with Nahida, seeing that she wasn't aware of Scaramouche before we told her that I realized that this change would be permanent. I have mixed feelings about this, although most of them are positive (but more on this later!!)
Wanderer is... really good-natured. He works without pay, just because the shopkeeper let him shelter from the rain once. At some point though, when we're trying to convince him to come with us, it seems like he has a flash of insight? It wasn't brought up again, but after that, it seemed like his personality changed a bit... I'm still confused about what that was, lol.
After that, we journey through memory lane. I really like the change in direction when it comes to trial combat in stories. Before, it felt a bit contrived, like the story was just finding reasons for us to enter a dungeon with that story character. (Don't even get me started on Eula's dumbass story quest.)
This felt really natural, though, and IIRC Nilou's story quest didn't even have a real dungeon (just a small scene where she beat off some enemies). I prefer this vastly to having a mediocre or poor story + a proper dungeon.
Back to the fight, Paimon's "Hey! Are you done yet!?" to Wanderer as he was having a mental breakdown had me in tears 💀💀
I loved the scene of him grabbing his past self's hand, as well as his past self holding onto his hand. He speedran Fischl's whole Persona 4 sequence and did it in the nick of time 🥇
He wasn't able to reach that distant light he saw, but in the end, by accepting his past self -- Scaramouche's anger and grief and wrongdoings, he created his own light, and in turn, received an Anemo vision. (Does that mean, then, that Anemo visions are given out when people are able to accept their circumstances? Or is it still something else? Vision discourse has been a thing since the start of this game and all of the explanations I've seen or come up with have felt "sort of right, but missing something still." I can't wait til we get the answers to these questions, if ever)
And after all that, at journey's end... our gremlin (tm) has returned. 🎉
...He even lets us choose his new name! I like how for certain names, he rejects them outright lol. (His reaction was kind of muted though lol, I was expecting a little more than "You can't be serious 😑")
After I spent 140 pulls on him to bring him home, I was all for calling him Scaradouche, but in the end I settled on... Tsutsuji.
I have a lot (tm) of feelings about Wanderer's story. I'm sad that Kazuha no longer has as strong of a reason to show up where Scaramouche does (more best boi content is always welcome thank u), I'm happy that Wanderer and Nahida are now canon buddies/coworkers, and I'm apprehensive and curious because WHAT WAS THAT ENDING WHO WAS THAT???
One of the more prominent feelings I have about Scara's story is a deep sense of sadness. Scaramouche could not accept who he was, and erased himself as a result. However, Wanderer, a completely different person at that point, was able to accept Scaramouche.
While it's definitely not a 1:1 comparison, I'm reminded of a story I read years ago, "Star Lover."
For such a short story, a lot of things happen in it -- but the part I'm most concerned with here is the idea that to truly recover from past trauma, it had to have never happened at all.
Tsutsuji, one of the main characters in "Star Lover," embodies this idea, which is where the name comes from.
Would things have been better for Scaramouche he sat down and worked through his issues, instead of "running away" to become a completely different person? It's hard to say. After all, it was only through Wanderer that he's eventually able to come to terms with his past.
In real life, people try to find meaning in their trials, purpose in their trauma. Weighed down by emotions, they push their way through creeping ivy and waist-high water. There's an ingrained philosophy that "trauma is an opportunity to come out stronger."
To be clear, this is not a bad philosophy. In fact, it's the only way many people have to move forward.
But... what if you never had to experience that past trauma at all? What if you could just undo it?
Neither Scaramouche nor Tsutsuji waded through a bog of their past trauma. In Scaramouche's case, Wanderer was able to do it for him. In Tsutsuji's case, it was like it had never happened at all.
If only we could do the same in real life.
Other Random Thoughts:
The "Inner Irminsul" area was beautiful. I remember thinking before that Sumeru was going to be very nature-focused, seeing as it was the land of dendro, but I am really really digging the added high-tech aspect as well, from the story to the landscapes.
After seeing Niwa's death, Scaramouche mockingly asks if we're actually worried about him. He says something similar in the previous archon quest ("hmph, those words make you sound like a friend who actually cares.") little shit
I counted three Lumine "wtf !!!" faces this quest
"The wisest leaders are fated to end up with the best helpers" ASDFGHJKL; INJECT THE SCARA NAHIDA FRIENDS/SIBLINGS CANON STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS
I really loved this quote as well: "The past is set in stone, but you can keep moving on. And the longer your future lasts, the shorter your past will become, until one day it is but a tiny fraction of your life." ;-; Nahida best girl
While the quote is uplifting, it's also quite bittersweet... what if you want to hold onto your past self? Plus something something passage of time becomes faster the longer you've lived. Someone like Zhongli would probably be pained when reminded of this quote/truth.
The last part of this story reminded me of No Way Home, a little bit. But while I hated No Way Home, I loved this. I think for NWH I was too sad about Peter losing literally everyone who knew and loved him?? For Scaramouche lmao it's not like anyone loved the Balladeer (except for Niwa and the others hrngggg). Poor Niwa, it's not like things really matter anyways because he's dead but there's something so sad about Wanderer feeling so guilty and sad about his friend's death, whereas Niwa in this new reality doesn't even know who he is.
Ik I mentioned this before but who ???? is the voice at the end? I'm so excited and curious to find out more about them, and about what it means for the story as a whole.
"Fate is called as such, for it cannot be changed, nor can it be reversed. It can only but be accepted." <- This quest really ended up being a textbook example of what Mona says, huh. I guess this is also related to what the mysterious voice said at the end? That things can't really be changed in Teyvat.
I wonder if that gives the Teyvat simulation theory more credit... aaaaa it's all so interesting
Also, what if information was rewritten in Irminsul before? Nothing enormous events-wise could have been changed (unless the people who make the "rules" that nothing big can be changed ARE the ones who rewrote something) but it's still interesting and kind of frightening to think about!
What if Irminsul was rewritten more than twice and we weren't around to witness it, meaning that what's done is done. It's not like it really matters, because it's a video game, but... well. If it ever comes up, it'll be an important story reason, but we likely won't get the whole story about what happened in the "past"/alternate world. Even though it's just a game, it's exciting and scary, to think of the interesting stories we could have seen, but wouldn't be able to.

giving this meme another spin
really digging this introverted/introverted energy I get from them and, well this is based on my current au (post-canon and post-Yuma), things changed a little hahaha
Astral changes A LOT because of Shark and their relationship - probably a more out-of-character Astral (but look at manga X anime Astral and tell me that's the same dude, it isn't huh?). Anyway, I'll discuss a little more in depth at the end of this post, meanwhile..
I'll go fetch my tags from yesterday:
this newfound obsession with this ship (Astral/Ryoga) started last year and it was not a coincidence at all, what surprised me was the fact that Astral/Yuma wasn't a ship I thought I'd part with or change like I did but this is precisely it: I changed Ryoga and Astral are similar - that is kind of the point - that relationship feels harmonious and mature in my head. They're not the same. They're not bound by things like “destiny” or because they're “soulmates” or incomplete halves that make one whole, they are whole individuals (there's some headcanons about this I will explore regarding Astral) by themselves the thing that gets me is the circumstances in which they grow closer to each other: pain and loss Yuma and Astral make a wonderful ship. That's not up to debate. They didn't have a choice though: they must exist together Astral and Ryoga is something deliberate (and liberating at that) it's not that I came to dislike one over the other but just that I needed something else. I'm all about autonomy (of course this also solves the issue with another of my favs III and his unrequited love. I guess in the end no one loses and I'm happy) it's funny to see how much I changed and matured in this last year through the lenses of shipping but here we are. It's fun and real. I'm so very glad I changed. I always do (not always for the best but this time I do believe it is a good change)
there's still more I want to add!
before, Astral was an "extension" of Yuma (or rather, half of Yuma, and Yuma was half of him), a weapon from Astral World and the mythical hero "Zexal"
this Astral I'm putting together with Ryoga is a "man" (hence why he's slightly less agender now)
this Astral is "whole" (I'll have to explain this eventually, whenever I stop to put my thoughts in order that is) and his "role" now is to live his own life as he pleases (of course, still aiding Astral World etc..)
this Astral is more "human", he's darker and more mature too and, although he still doesn't show his emotions much, he does have them (unlike before) and he's able to identify them better now
well, the gist of it (in the beginning at least) is that they're licking each other's wounds, processing their heartbreak, pain and loss.. then some budding feelings start to bloom
the interactions (romance, sex, etc) will be very different because of how much Astral is changed, there will be a lot of tension and attrition, but the kind that connects and strengthen (if that makes any sense?)
I guess I didn't need to do much for Ryoga at all, since his personality and features are pretty much set in canon. It's pretty damn obvious he's in love with Yuma and I just had to play with that: he can't be with Yuma, so what now? If I remove IV/Thomas from the equation altogether (because in this headcanon they would be more like fuck buddies if they were to stay together) how to proceed with Ryoga? He likes Astral and considers him his friend because he likes and is friends with Yuma (and Yuma and Astral are the same guy also), so how to cause the shift and make Ryoga and Astral happen?
little bit of spoilers: Ryoga confesses first. He falls for Astral first
that flips a switch in Astral's mind
something something his bond with Yuma is still strong and the same, AND he is capable of bonding with other people too. He just didn't know or cared enough to bother
so.... that's where things might start getting out-of-character (but I don't really care that much to be honest?????). Unlike his relationship with Yuma, Astral's relationship with Ryoga will come full of intensity
and there's more to explore, you'll see.....

Ever feel like you have no more options left? Like you're on the edge with no idea what to do? You're not gonna jump but you've explored your possibilities. You're unsure of where to go from here. Let me be clear. This blog is "Refusing to go Hollow", but I'd be lying if I never considered what I would be like if I just did.
Imagine being pushed so far that you just don't want to bother anymore. You fight for what you know is right but there is nothing you can ever do to please those around you. Don't care about what others think is what I'd normally say but what if this is at home or in a workplace? Not as simple. Makes it harder to not just lash out at someone or something. One or the other can bleed into each other and then you're in for a bad time. You might have to just turn around and leave both scenarios, right? A good consideration for being able to keep your mental sanity to stay in this world.
Much of life is easier said than done. Finding value in things and people you love. Deciding what to buy vs not buy. To get a college education or not. To buy a car or a house or not. Taking on too much of this responsibility can drive you mad. You feel as if something on the inside is creeping up on you. Like you have to keep it inside. Who knows what will happen if these thoughts or inner being is released.
Events that trigger anxiety don't help either. Perhaps you have micro interactions of betrayal or disappointment. How about disappointing yourself to go with? Things don't bode well for keeping these feelings at bay. You're gonna have to let it out eventually...but you won't...because it is better to stay shut, right? Wrong. You're gonna do it anyway though. You're gonna fight your gut on this because you're in survival mode. You haven't fully healed from a childhood or traumatic events that haunt you to this day. You simply can't find a way to purge these demons.
Time passes and all hell breaks loose. You've said and done plenty you regret. Did this happen at work? Probably jobless now? Did this happen at home? Guess that roommate you had or relationship you were pursuing said to hell with this. Do you continue to run amok, or do you find a way to contain the beast? We all know the answer and it isn't the easy one. However, once you've learned, will you ever gain those connections or value back?
We always need to consider the ways in which the Dark Side can consume us. Whether Badeline gets to win or not. Whether Anne Flores takes the device or not (all I'll say to avoid spoilers as this game being referenced hasn't even been out a year yet). Whether we find the light at the end of the tunnel or let the darkness consume us. You get the idea. Embrace listening, empathy, and understanding. Don't run Amok. More times than not, you're gonna regret it. Tell someone you love them today.

What do u think of tsc
I almost feel as though I'm still processing everything. Honestly I started reading the book probably a few months ago and I've been reading it off and on, so I'm positive there's things I don't remember. Just like the captive kingdom I should probably reread at some point.
Though I'll always favor the original trilogy, it was absolutely an enjoyable read. It's nice to see all the ascendance kids back together again.
*absolute shattered castle spoilers ahead*
Of course we're all here for the absolute killer sass Jaron delivers, he absolutely wreCked a few people and it was iconic. "If you thought that was exciting, you should have seen me climb out of the river." Also can't stop thinking about when Wilta asked Jaron to choose who to free and he chose his gardener and Wilta barely even questioned it, she was probably so done with his bs at this point. Seriously Wilta had to be mentally exhausted after every interaction with Jaron, this girl needs a nap.
Imogen finally having a leading role, concocting and going through with her own plan without much intervention from Jaron, was phenomenal. I appreciated that Wilta acknowledged that Imogen was just as strong and intelligent as Jaron and comprised every bit of the royalty in her veins. It was fantastic for Imogen to finally get that recognition, and it really brought home how so much of Jaron's successes were backed and strengthened through Imogen and her own decisions.
Amarinda and Roden weren't seen that much throughout the book which was somewhat disappointing, but it paved the way for some other characters to shine which I really appreciated, namely Tobias {don't worry I'll rant about my son soon enough}, Imogen, and Fink. Oh and can't forget Rosewater "Lump" Coyle, an icon.
It was thoroughly entertaining seeing Wilta work with Jaron, their dynamic was hilarious. I can imagine Wilta sitting down, massaging her temples, while Jaron is in the background scaling the castle wall like a spider and everything is on fire. She was like "listen I know that son of a baconator is still alive, we all know it *Jaron with a lampshade on his head* *wilta staring into the camera like she's on the office*
Anyway seeing Wilta gradually change her stance was interesting to watch unfold. I'd like to think she began to genuinely respect both Jaron and Imogen, and respect the unified loyal kingdom they had created. The treason within her own ranks might have made the unity of Carthya seem very foreign and astonishing.
This is all over the place but when Roden had gone to retrieve the pirates I was cheering {how come whenever the pirates make their grand entrance I hear the avengers theme playing}. This might be a controversial opinion, but I feel that Roden should be the one and only pirate king, to me he rightfully earned that position.
Darius and Jaron joining together, and specifically riding together on the same horse, was very moving to me. Both brothers thought the other to be dead and forever gone from their life, yet here they are back together once again, brothers again, getting to fight by the other's side. They may have had to say goodbye to their parents, yet they didn't have to say goodbye to their brother just yet.
Levitimas simply vibing in some dungeon the entire time y'all go right ahead imma just stay right here good luck let me know when you have my book an icon. You can't help but wonder what he'll decide to pen within that book next, the tale of the ascendant king perhaps??? Would it be written as truth or as something told in stories??? Would Jaron’s rule eventually dissolve into nothing more than legend? Like a ghost, did he really live?
A headcanon of mine that didn't come to fruition, this will likely be a bit controversial as well, but my first impression of Castor was not immediate hatred. At the very beginning, I got it in my head that Castor wasn't actually a bad person, rather he was wearing a disguise, he was successfully fooling Jaron into believing that the Veldergrath line continues as usual, when in reality he was always on the side of Carthya and had secretly aligned with Imogen to take Wilta and the prozarians down. Of cOurse this didn't come about, the arrow intended for Jaron attests to that, though I was hoping. I just thought it would be interesting not only for Castor to truly fool Jaron as Jaron already holds a prejudice against Castor's family and might couldn't see through that, and at the last moment Castor reveals that he is truly on Jaron's side, and most importantly the Veldergrath line is not one set in stone as cruel or selfish. Castor gets to prove that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover or assume the same malicious poison taints the blood within his veins. It just would've been neat thanks for coming to my ted talk
AND NOW
MY SON
THE MOST PRECIOUS LOYAL BABE
Tobias *sobs*
To merely recount all of the instances he verbally demonstrated and acted in such a way that revealed his undying loyalty to Jaron and to Carthya just ahfhdjjsbsj Tobias is constantly the butt of some joke, he's used to being belittled and treated like he's useless in almost all scenarios, so much so that any possible confidence has been visibly stripped away in this book, yet despite that he remained steadfast, did things that frightened him, stood with Jaron even knowing that it could be a death sentence. In stories such as these, it's the ones who wield sword and join in battle and spill blood that are praised as heroes; the ones behind the scenes don't get the recognition they deserve, the ones who's hands shake when they're forced to grip a sword's handle, the ones that are brave in their words and in their choices rather than in combat, the ones that choose to heal, to tend to wounds rather than cause them, those people deserve to be seen and respected so much too.
And of course. We cannot forget.
The moment.
The moment when Mercy raised his blade to Jaron.
And Tobias.
So unsure of himself.
Trembling
But without hesitation
Saving Jaron's life.
I was over here like
Tumblr media
Tobias finally had his moment I can't, the amount of mental strength it must've taken Tobias to do that, he's a healer and yet when he saw one of his dearest friend's life being threatened he bravely made that choice, I just love him so much thanks for coming to my other ted talk
This has... become very lengthy, sorry about that, but there's some of my incoherent thoughts.
Almost forgot!! Thanks for the ask @spaghetti-flyingsquirrel-bin !

That's fascinating. Btw, my kudos to you for going in with that translation thingy, i wouldn't have the patience to xD
Since you said the story is so different, and here i just wanna hear someone's opinions since i usually suck at analysing stuff and writing, where do you think they might be headed. Obviously the social aspect is a fundamental key here, I'm talking more Sean White Black related situation. I'm honestly loving how Off's portraying his characters and i can't wait to meet Black. And how is Black like in the novel anyway, really curious ? Honestly i love the rambling so do go for it
Oh, not really relevant but I'm a J too, just spelled differently😉
I did what I had to do 😌
Ohhh yeah I think Sean is absolutely one of Off's best to roles to date. He's done such a great job at portraying the different sides of Sean- his hostility for Black, his softness for White, the way he cares so much about other people while always maintaining his calm and aloof demeanour around White. It's great!
As for where I think the show is taking it... well a full analysis would involve novel spoilers so I'll just stick with my interpretation of their interactions in the show. I think it's as Off has said in interviews before, Sean's confused by White. As I've said before, Sean and Black have a complicated relationship. They're quite similar in some ways and that's probably what often creates friction between them. They likely bonded bc of their shared passion for their mission and hatred for Tawee and Black did start their whole revolution. So Sean definitely would respect him bc of that, he put his trust in Black and then Black ditched him and got him suspended and now their relationship has soured greatly bc of it. When Sean is around Black now he feels anger over the betrayal, but his respect for him and their mission keeps him from denouncing their friendship. And then White shows up and Sean tries to be mad like he usually is but it doesn't feel right, bc White isn't Black and so White doesn't provoke that hurt, doesn't test their strained bond like Black totally would. So Sean can't stay mad around White and it confuses him and triggers his suspicions over "Black." I think that Sean will figure out White's not Black pretty soon, if he hasn't already. Not only has he been the most suspicious of White's actions since he showed up, but he totally caught him when he was on the phone with Todd. He literally asked him who he called, that wasn't a random question he heard him talking. Adding to that, White being so against their mission was a dead giveaway for someone like Sean, bc Sean and Black are the same when it comes to this and Sean knows it too- if Sean wouldn't quit over something like this neither would Black. So I think he either knows already or is well on his way to figuring it out. But all he's done the whole time is try to cover for White, saving him and deflecting Yok's suspicions, so it's safe to assume that his intentions towards White are good. He's a very caring person so no matter his relationship with Black, he would definitely take care of White while he's in such a dangerous situation. He's also tricky so I don't see him sharing his findings or even making it too obvious to the viewers that he knows. I think we'll be left guessing what he knows/thinks until the show either switches pov or he reveals it to White.
Ahhh all fellow Js are my friends 😌😌
Now for Black in the novel!
He's a volatile gremlin with trauma and mental health issues who thinks everyone is out to get him- tho in his defense, most people are -and only trusts three people in the world. White, Dane and Gram. I love him, he lives to make my life more entertaining.
In the book him and White had been separated since their parents divorced when they were 5 or 6 and even tho they would go to the same school they weren't allowed to so much as talk to eo. White once mentions that him and Black had to be careful not to get caught bc if their mother found out Black would get hurt. And that was when they were nine. Black was always protective of White bc White had asthma in the book, and was also a bully magnet, and would get sick/hurt often, but their separation really exacerbated his protectiveness to an almost unhealthy point. He couldn't let anything bad happen to White ever, almost obsessively protective of him. He also had a very skewed perception of the people around him and people in general, for valid reasons, and didn't trust anyone or anything. Which is why when he's attacked he thinks his friends betrayed him even though it is instantly obvious none of them even knew it happened when White shows up.
Black was also hella dramatic, always doing super extra shit like breaking himself out of the hospital, kidnapping his own twin, etc. It was kinda hilarious. I really hope he has more screentime in the show than he did in the book and I need to see him interact with Gram and the rest of the gang like I need air to breathe. Black is just such an interesting character I love him so much. He represents so many things at once: class disparity, poverty struggles, lifelong effects of childhood abuse and trauma, the rage against the Powers That Be, etc. He was already a pretty complex character in the book but he's gonna be even better in the show, I really cannot wait to see him.
The whole book was about White relearning who he and his brother are so it would only make sense that we get to learn about who Black is through White, Sean and Gram's perspectives in the show.

i have BRAINROT and i don't want to do homework so here's my ramblings about the jomsvikings in ac valhalla uhh some spoilers for characters you can recruit from ledecestrescire, grantebridge, east anglia, essexe and snottinghamscire but no story spoilers
also i kept talking and now i have opinions on how there should be more long-term romance options in the game because variety is the spice of life so! that's also in this post now!
first of all?? mannequins down by the docks 2/10
in all seriousness, once you recruit characters you literally can't interact with them at all beyond ship stories and that's.. kinda lame? you know how when coelbert is staying in ravensthorpe you can have little conversations with him? something like that for the jomsvikings would already do so much to make them feel more alive. it honestly doesn't even have to be anything fancy, just a few conversations similar to the ship stories, or about how they're getting along with the other residents of ravensthorpe or possibly referencing some story events from their own arcs or others you've completed (vili and his father know the ragnarssons and this is basically never brought up except for halfdan sending a gift during the snottinghamscire arc - WHY is this never brought up i want to know what ivarr and vili thought of each other).
Each character seems to have around 5 ship stories so give them the about same number of conversations, set them on repeat for each time you return to ravensthorpe and they'll already feel much more alive than the soullesss husks lurking on the pier. it wouldn't be for every character, the 4 recruitable characters + bragi and maybe the lieutenant (just give them the save male/female voice and some generic conversations - it can't be worse than they are now they literally do NOTHING)
in an ideal world i'd also swap romance around a little bit. i should probably mention that i'm aroace and usually play that way in my first playthrough but i'm on my second playthrough rn and that includes playing eivor as a character rather than as 'me' if that makes sense. all this is to say on this playthough i am romancing people and since i don't experience attraction i usually go for characters that give me gender envy hence why i've not romanced any women so keep in mind i might be a little biased about who i would have as romance options.
randvi's a great character and i like her a lot but i don't want to romance her - it's kind of weird that there's 3 romancable characters in ravensthorpe but only one you can have an actual relationship with, it's even weirder since there's only one quest to hang out with randvi (as far as i know) but tarben and petra get two each that i won't spoil here. i think making petra + tarben into actual romances like randvi instead of fwb would the player some choice between gender because as it is there's no male romance beyond flings.
perhaps a bit more daring but i'd also make hytham or vili a romance option - probably vili since he's already a 'romance' option + it'd fit well with the trend of eivor having one man and woman they know from norway (vili + randvi) they can romance as well as one man and one woman (tarben + petra) that they met after arriving in england. i'm not ususally a big fan of romance in games so maybe this is just the part of me that really likes tarben and vili speaking but i don't think it could hurt in any way
so. maybe i'm weird for being so focused on the characters in ac games esp since i'm a dude because best i can tell there seems to be a pretty clear split between men and women in terms of focus on gameplay/characters (i have seen very few nb ac fans so i can't speak on that) and wow my favourite part of a game is giving me gender dysphoria now this might be the dumbest thing to ever cause it
anyway i really like most of the ac valhalla characters and i wanna be able to interact with them more
thats my assassins creed rambling done for the week maybe i'll post some art in a bit we'll see

Character ref for; Jack, Maddie and Jazz,
Art by @gally-hin / @gally-hin-phantom
Okay so first off; in terms of Actual redesign, I didn't change a whole lot. I'm actually very fond of Jack and Maddie's design's, my only real issue was with their proportions. Like...look as a lady person who is also thiCC I do not have a fucking wasp thin waist and I'm sure I'm not the only one, lmao. As for Jack? Godamnit he looked like a brick on toothpicks. Just Let him be a fucking Bara man! Anyway of course I asked Gally to do this one bc they're fucking great at drawing different body types
I also cannot and will not take credit for Jazz's outfit. I didn't have any issue with her canon clothes aside from them being a bit plain, so what she's wearing here was literally pulled straight off of her original concept art, which I will link here.
Anyway, getting to the Actual character lore now, let's start with
Maddie Fenton
-Full name is Madeline (I haven't decided on a maiden name yet)
-Born and raised on a farm in Arkansas, had a southern accent that she trained herself out of in college bc it was just one more reason for people not to take her seriously. Still sometimes uses "y'all" completely unironically bc old habits die hard.
-She has a really big family, and they're proud of her accomplishments but feel like she's wasting her talent studying ghosts, because really, up until the Fenton portal was up and running there wasn't even any solid proof they existed. Her sister Alicia is the one outlier there, and even if she doesn't understand, it she completely supports her.
-She majored in engineering and minored in psychology at Wisconsin EDU. Her, Jack and Vlad were all in the same engineering class, and that's where they met.
-Maddie is particularly interested in how ghosts think, analysing their behavior, their motives. Not only that, but they aren't just dead people with unfinished business, they've built an entire culture in the Ghost Zone that is completely seperate from humanity, and she wants to understand all of it.
-skilled marksman and 9th degree black belt, (which is. The highest fucking level there is holy shit? I looked it up after I saw it on her wiki page.)
Jack Fenton
-He's from Minnesota (Amity park is in Illinois and him and Maddie didn't move there until after they got married)
-okay, "but why minnesota specifically" you ask? Because. I crave. Foot ball discourse.
-minnesota vikings vs green bay packers guys do you UNDERSTAND WHERE IM GOING WITH THIS
-The funny thing is that Jack only watches football casually while Vlad is a fucking die hard so when these two got together to see a game it was like....
-Jack: Here to chill and have a good time.
-Vlad: Primed and ready to start a fist fight at any given moment.
-I am never not going to be salty about how Canon Jack was portrayed like a complete moron 99% percent of the time. Like no...theres a difference between Actual Stupid and ADHD induced dumbass-ery.
-Am I saying Jack Fenton has ADHD? Yes. why? Because I also have ADHD and I have always vibed So Hard with his Character.
-Jack is loud and easily excited about things that interest him. He's impulsive and fidgety and yeah, a bit absent minded. He has a mouth that clearly runs so much faster than his head. His train of thought doesn't get derailed so much as it stops and takes several different detours on the way to it's final destination.
-and that's only the tip of the iceberg, really, I'd need an entire essay to get into this completely, but I just really relate.
-Jacks skill-set / interests regarding ghosts vary a bit from Maddie's, most notably in the sense that he doesn't believe that they're static entities already set in their ways, completely incapable of change.
-Jack majored in engineering and minored in Biology at Wisconsin EDU.
-Jack's work with tech is a bit hit or miss. He definitely HAS the engineering skills, but the intrest isn't always there and he's constantly jumping back and forth between different projects. He tends to focus on the concept work and schematics and leave most of the assembly to Maddie as a result. It's an arrangement that works well for them, and has drastically decreased the number of unintentional explosions in the lab.
-A lot of Jack's work tends to revolve around ghostly biology and Ectoplasm, figuring out how ghosts are made, what makes them tick, what the hell Ectoplasm Actually Is, how it's used as an energy source, ect.
-and yes, that does also mean he handles the dissections.
-See that facial scar? Yeah, that's not actually there at the start of the series rewrite but it's very important for plot reasons so I had to include it. Can't say much more on the subject because SPOILERs owo.
Jasmine Fenton
-Jazz is a 18 years old, and a senior at Casper high.
-Which means she prepping to go away to college and won't be around to keep an eye on Danny.
-Obviously that doesn't mean I'm just writing her out of the story, oh no. Know why? Because she's also gonna go to Wisconsin EDU. ya know who else is in Wisconsin? Fuckin' Vlad.
-Jazz is autistic, Although she passes for neurotypical in part due to symptoms being completely over looked in girls due to gender stereotyping and also the fact that she doesn't have any special interests that are considered " "too weird.""
- Her hyperfixation with psychology started at a young age in an effort to better understand people, and social/emotional cues and all that.
-Jazz is well liked at school but she's not popular or apart of any specific group or clique. She's very kind and compassionate to people, and just about everyone knows her, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who actually Considered her a friend. Except maybe Spike.
-I'm gonna have to give spike his own Character ref at some point, but he's this scary looking goth kid that's been held back twice. He's actually super sweet, just really fuckin' quiet and anxious. Him and jazz kinda ended up gravitating towards each other. She might do most of the talking, but they look out for each other.
-its not like jazz doesn't try to socialize, but it's difficult and she's found it much easier and less stressful to just. Keep to herself and let her interactions with her peers stay shallow and superficial. Sure, it's lonely sometimes but it's better than constantly worrying about saying the wrong thing or making some other misstep.
-One of Jazz's other special interests is football, and it's not so much the players or the game as it is the strategy of it? Started out as one of those things you do to bond with your dad, and she ended up getting really into it.
-She absolutley winds up getting into stupidly intense discussions with Vlad about it, too, lmao.
-Her and Danny probably bonded over SBNation bc that shit has both sentient satellites and ridiculously complex football mechanics.
-She's completely oblivious to the fact, but Dash has a massive crush on her bc holy shit this girl understands football (hey bud your toxic masculinity is showing put that shit away)
-I mentioned that Danny was in Cheer for a bit in middle school so it makes sense that she'd also be pushed into doing some kind of extracurricular activity.....so.....she was in a martial arts class for a bit thanks to Maddie and has a good grasp on self defense.
I think that's everything? I feel like I'm leaving things out tho? Idk if I did I'll come back and add on to this later and also pls don't hesitate to ask questions bc it really helps me flesh things out better.

10:12 PM | May. 6 | 2019 | I am back!!
I don't think any of you missed me but... if any of you did, I am here so you don't have to think about when I'm coming back anymore!! A lot has happened while I was on hiatus.
So school-wise I did quite a bit. The week after I went on hiatus I had state testing. So, I completed 5 tests in 3 days. It wasn't very hard, but I really need to get better in science. I basically just skimmed through science in the 1st semester so I didn't really remember anything I learned. Plus, they brought up topics from 1-2 years ago. I was really struggling in my 1st and 2nd years of online school. So I barely focused and just rushed to get it done.
Other than that, the other tests were fine. I saw a cute boy with curly hair. It seems like 90% of guys with curly hair are cute. But he was probably like 17 or 18 so it would be pretty much illegal if we were together and all that. Very unfortunate. T-T
There was also this boy in like 5th or 6th grade that had a full on cowboy outfit... like that's cool but we were testing, so I didn't really understand why he was dressed like that. He had like a fedora hat too. But,,,,, I shouldn't judge people like that so just forget what I said about him. His outfit was nice.
OKAY BUT. Really good news! I'm going to public school after summer break!! I'm... actually going to see and interact with people!! Physically!! I have felt so lonely these past few years. Everyone says high school is terrible, even my dad said it was the worst of the worst. Is that true? I feel like it's true but I also don't want to assume everyone is annoying and stupid.
I had a choice to decide to go or stay in online school. I was mixed between feeling deep fear that everyone would judge me or something bad would happen to me and feeling excitement because I might actually find friends there...? I had only a few days to decide. But, of course I said yes to going to public school. I truly want to see what it's like. It's only been 3 years but it feels like it was an eternity of being alone. So much has happened... and I've changed so much.
So my mom enrolled me in the high school. I get to see the campus and get a tour on Thursday this week!! That's why I wanted to come back. I wanted to start posting before I went.
I also completed tests and an essay while I was gone. Currently, I actually need to do this essay. I haven't even begun to do it yet. I hate when I procrastinate. It's not even hard, I just would rather not do it! But other than that, I'm caught up. I can't fall behind at the end of the year.
Now starting from now, I'm not going to talk about anything related to school.
So, I got to play with the boy. It was actually really fun and still his voice makes me weak,,,. Like- I was waiting for him to get back online and suddenly he talked into the mic and his voice was like so much deeper I just-. It's such a blessing to hear his voice I'm not joking. T-T
ANYWAYS. I am finally caught up on the bnha manga! I wanted to catch up for weeks but I just didn't do it. Plus, it would kind of be useful for my story. I can't believe the 4th season still hasn't come out and there's this much going on in the manga!!
So, I have watched some animes. I am on the last episode of the 2nd season of Bungou Stray Dogs. It's so good!! Just a few more episodes then I will be all caught up on the anime. Then I'll have to wait a week for the next episode like everyone else. I also want to read the manga too.
So, we're actually almost done with Naruto, then we should be watching the Shippuden. I finished season 2 of free! And I am currently on season 3. I haven't gotten to it because... of school stuff. I watched like 5 minutes of Noragami. But I know I'll watch it once I finish free! I also need to start watching Demon Slayer. Thankfully, the anime just started so it won't be much to watch.
I started another anime,,, I told myself I wouldn't watch more than 1 anime at a time but,,, I lied to myself. It's called Servamp. I was searching up... stuff for my writing and I found it and watched the 1st episode. It's decent so far.
Speaking of writing, I really did get a lot of inspiration for my story from the manga and some songs too. AND! I was right! I estimated Tomura's age to be around 20 and it's canon that he's 20 currently!!
[ This paragraph below has spoilers for the bnha manga, don't read if you haven't caught up completely on the manga, or read Tomura's origin! ]
It also seems that the theorists were right about him killing his family as a child. Unless AFO messed with his mind and he actually killed them, y'all were right. I really feel like I understand him more as a character than ever!
I also came up with some more OCs and quirks they could possibly have. I have no intention of sharing my story but... if it turns out decent maybe I will.
I'm playing mystic messenger. I'm on Saeyoung's route!! There's so much drama! It's so good! And he was kind of mean at first but now he's really sweet and cute! I mean he was always cute but y'know. What happened with his family is so sad. :(( Thanks Cheritz! We don't deserve y'all!! Not being sarcastic either!!
Not last yet, but so far I have done a water change for my goldfish! They're doing really well right now. :)
Lastly,,, I have come up with a plan to better myself before public school. I intended on doing it "later" but it seems that I should geniunely start my plan now. I've had this in mind for months. Now is the time! It's really late for me now though. I'll post my plan later this week! But it should be before Thursday! There's no guarantee though.
If you read all of this, thank you! I had a lot to say since so much happened.
