this is the bit of "my eyes" that i particularly associate with kesh and double a batteries.

this part is delian and how he when returns from staying with his aunt ester (after he first finds about ivl and her evil plans), he doesn't know what he's doing, what his plan is in returning to his friends and life in the city ester is planning a large-scale attack on. he doesn't know what side he'll find himself on when the time comes. his loyalty vs his morality.

"What did you do my eyes?"

ester's first move in the attack takes out kesh before any fighting or destruction begins. she takes their eyes.

"What did you sing to that lonely child? / Promised it all, but you lied"

this is about ester and delian's relationship. because she took them under her wing, offering love and nurturing and promises of a better life, after delian was ostracized from their family. "lonely child" refers to the fact that delian was young and vulnerable and no longer had any family or support when ester began taking care of him. she promised him good things. her love secured his loyalty, but she was hiding ivl and her evil agenda from them the whole time, even when using them to fulfill her evil whims. because delian held her on a pedestal, he followed her with blind loyalty even when he was asked to do something questionable, like help kidnap a fifteen year old... they have held her above their morala because she loves them, and this is exactly what ester wants.

once delian builds a support system outside of ester and takes time to think about her plans and what's been revealed to them, following her doesn't sit right with their morals. delian, at heart, wants to help people and prevent harm and do good. and once he decides to go against ester, it's all or nothing. he completely switches sides. if he stays on ester's side, whatever good he does outside of her plans is worthless.

my top bit of advice going into the new year: compliment people. especially strangers. literally everyone you interact with if you can. when you buy coffee in the morning compliment the barista's tattoos. when you're chatting with a coworker tell them that by the way you like their outfit. always find something they've chosen to do on purpose. nail polish, jewellery, tattoos, hair colour/style, statement accessory, outfit, etc are all good bets. things people hope will be noticed. things that aren't too personal so it doesn't make them uncomfortable (eg probably not their physical features). i've gotten into the habit of scanning everyone i talk to for something about them that i think is cool so i can tell them. it's a great habit because it makes me notice people and realise just how many neat little details there are in people's presentation of themselves that might pass me by if i wasn't paying attention. and it brings out so much joy. you'd be surprised how much it disarms people to receive an unexpected compliment from someone they don't know. it is the most sincere smile you will see all day long. it feels nice to make people happy but it also means you win the social interaction. establish dominance by complimenting a stranger's earrings and disappearing into the fog

In complete seriousness, they need to make laws about ads that say they can take no more than one, maybe two, clicks/taps to close/skip. No more "wait 10 seconds until you can skip the video, wait 10 seconds until you can skip the fake playable ad, wait 5 seconds until you can close the 'download now' overlay, puts up a half-screen in-app appstore pop-up (which at least you can close immediately)." This should literally be illegal to do.

Edit: this is blowing up so I just wanted to add (haha ad) that this was my "reasonable request" I also think there should be way more and way stricter laws around all advertising in general. I think most advertising as we know it today should be abolished.

This might be a hot take but can Mrs.Flood just be Mrs.Flood who knows what a TARDIS is cause she lived in London all her life, where alien shit is happening at least once a year and is always accompanied by the doctor and a strange police box.

Hug

It's nearly impossible to have a quiet and peaceful day with the crew, like the strawhats. Nami is mostly used to the noise on Going Merry but one day she gets fed up with Zoro and Sanji arguing. Not only are they extremely loud, but they've also already broken way too many things during their fights.

She decides that If they want to act like brats, then she's going to treat them as such. So she makes them apologize and hug each other in silence for an hour. None of them are happy about this punishment, but Nami threatened to raise Zoro's debt, and Sanji couldn't say no to her. It could be worse.

It's awkward enough for them to not incite any fight for a long time and Nami is quite proud of herself. She knows it won't last forever but at least now she knows how to handle them. It inevitably happens again. And again. And again.

Much to her surprise, those fights became more and more frequent. And what's even weirder is that she could see the way both Zoro and Sanji occasionally glanced at her to make sure she was nearby. It's almost as if they wanted someone to make them hug each other. As if they needed an excuse.... these idiots.

Soon, they don't even need Nami's help. When they aren't busy training, cooking or fighting, they cuddle together. Sometimes Luffy or Chopper would join them, but most of the crew knew it was their time.

After two years spent separately, they became extremely clingy. It's no surprise when they start sleeping in the same bed. What is surprising is that despite them behaving like a lovey-dovey couple, those oblivious idiots are STILL unaware of each other's feelings.
