Luffy wasn’t used to being the one who noticed things first.

Emotions, cues, people’s feelings.

Those always flew right over his head.

But this time…

He was sure.

He liked you.

A lot.

Like, a lot a lot.

You were funny, strong, and had the weirdest quirks he found adorable.

But there was one small issue.

You were oblivious.

Dangerously, astoundingly, even more oblivious than Luffy himself.

Which was saying something.

It started when he shared his meat with you.

“I saved you a piece!”

He said with a grin, holding it out proudly like it was a rare gem.

You took it without question.

“Thanks, Luffy! You always give me food when I’m hungry!”

He blinked.

“…I mean, yeah, but it’s my meat.”

You smiled and chewed happily, unaware of the bright flush on his face.

Then came the day he tried to hold your hand.

You two were walking ahead of the crew on a bright, sunny afternoon.

Luffy’s fingers brushed against yours a couple of times before he just reached out and held your hand.

You glanced down.

“Oh! Is this a new training thing? Hand grip strength?”

Luffy stared at you, mouth slightly open.

He laughed and leaned over to rest his head on your shoulder.

“That’s fine. I’ll wait. I’m not in a hurry.”

Then he added,

Your flustered sputtering made him laugh even harder.

hheyy.. ive been having like massive brainrot over 007n7.. hes so goofy and sad that MANNNNN... oh its also really fun to try and explore what being an 'exploiter' really does to you

- Before 007n7 had adopted c00lkid, he didn't really need glasses and barely suffered scrapes or injuries— he wasn't short on money either since he also sold scripts on the roblox equivalent of the dark web.

- After adopting c00lkid, he started needing glasses due to well, quitting the life of exploiting, he always HAD low vision, but using exploits he had managed to achieve peak performance, of course, then you know, c00lkid appeared, he gave it up and donned glasses, 2 pairs actually, a pair of black and pink ones!

- 007n7 on rougher nights when he first had c00lkid was sincerely a tough time, he had even considered using his c00lgui to manipulate what c00lkid was doing because he genuinely couldn't get a wink of sleep, of course, he didn't do it in the end, it was interesting as he literally beat himself up for even having the thought of messing with c00lkid's code, a literal baby.

- 007n7 worked all 3 jobs, yeah? Sure, he can use his clones but again, 007n7 was fully done with exploiting and this meant having to give up the easier things in life, it was an honestly bad decision considering how tired he was everytime he had come back from work, but a few bloxy colas down and he was ready to go, the giggle of his child always grounded him in meager fantasies, it was about time he stopped trying to manipulate reality anyways.

- 007n7 has nights where he reminisces about his past friendship's, what would and what if's, yet in the end, he comes back to c00lkid's cradle and feels an immense sense of fulfillment no amount of exploiting had given him, no amount of stealing or laughs or scripting could even offer to him, to 007n7, c00lkid had been blessing and boon, and one that he would trade the c00lgui over for.

- 007n7, despite giving up being a notorious exploiter entirely, still tinkered with the c00lgui, programs and whatnot even if he didn't have as much time as before, it was his passion, the c00lgui, he'll probably never stop at least playing with it, and in his opinion, despite never really using it and handing it to c00lkid(behind locks), he still liked seeing the thing advance in code.

- 007n7 after having been forsook, tends to slip back in exploiter-habits despite he himself beating these habits out of him, but when everybody distrusts you and some only tolerate you or express sympathy that they can't express to you, it really does something, and for 007n7, he feels as if he deserved this isolation.

- 007n7 tends to copy and teleport food out of the cabin in general paranoia of anyone talking to him, his isolation was a bit self inflicted either way, with Chance trying to strike up conversations or Two Time mysteriously staring at him from the distance as 007n7 copied another can of bloxy cola using his c00lgui scripts, 007n7 usually stays in another cabin or at least somewhere else away from the other survivors for reasons known only to him, and with some others keen eye and observations, maybe some assumptions.

- 007n7, his isolation isn't entirely his fault, as his reputation of being a notorious hacker was quite well known among them, but there were some measure of self infliction since he took it as his penitence, to him, Forsaken was somewhat like a punishment, a sign that whatever he did wasn't enough, what he protected and miserably failed to do so, and with this knowledge he strays away from interacting with people, despite how much he knew he changed, how much he tried and how much he even tried to show it, at least once or twice, he had ultimately accepted that whatever place he was in, that maybe he deserved this, that he'd rather be here than trade his place because he knew he deserved this for failing him, he misses his baby so much, it could send him to tears at the mere thought of simply hugging his child again, feeding him tenderly, playing with him, changing his clothes or showing him the world, but what child would want such a sinner of a father?

I will always support TLJ hate because I was a huge Luke Skywalker fan and I feel like they destroyed his character and then just killed him off at the end :( I gave up on the franchise after that. The whole discourse around that movie was so strange too. After TFA everybody was speculating about who Rey's parents were and I loved the theory that Luke was her father and Kylo was her cousin and they'd all been tragically separated somehow (very Wars of the Roses in space, the daughter of the son versus the son of the daughter). And then with TLJ the director was like 'um actually Rey being a Skywalker by blood would be totally elitist and you can be force sensitive without being related to an existing character ya know'. And then in ROS they randomly made her the granddaughter of Palpatine lol. And I haven't even mentioned the way that they treated characters like Finn. What an absolute mess!

I could not agree with you more ESPECIALLY on the luke front like you're telling me the guy who saw good in his planet-exploding dad tried to kill his nephew for being emo? with rey i personally never really gave any mind to who her parents were but i thought the assertion that it would be elitist or whatever to make her related to the skywalkers was very bizarre considering that the whole of star wars is ostensibly the story of the skywalker family Rey's story in general just suffered badly from everybody having completely different ideas of what they wanted to do and so she never developed like any kind of interesting personality or connections to anyone beyond kylo which was kind of stupid as fuck cus her relationship in the fist film with finn was fun and i think if they actually gave us the functional trio of finn rey and poe it could have been a fun dnymaic but what ever we need that rat kylo fsr

I just finished The Hunted and now I’m obsessed and won’t stfu so my question to you is, what was your favorite part and why? (please do nerd out oh wise fic librarian. I love your opinions on the shit you read)

FUCK YEAHHHHHHHH (I’m sure you saw my obnoxious ass comments every chapter lmfao) GUYS PLS READ THE HUNTED ITS PHENOMENAL!!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again no one does Craig like OrcaTimes! And this Craig?!?!? Mannnnn I love how well established he is in his life of solitude right from the very beginning, how his isolation mirrors Kyle’s in a way. His indifference until the reveal that gets the ball rolling and him back in business, man that gut punch of the “victim” had me HOOKED!!!

I had a lot of favorite parts tbh. The world building was incredible, the history so immersive, and the VISUALS DUDE!!! The mountains and the tunnels and the ruins, I could SEE the landscape. The dialogue in general, the difference in speech cadence between our two main players. Everyone knows I’m way too obsessed with Kyle, and this version of him was so much fun to read.

The action sequences are always a fave for me in Orca’s writing (idk if you’ve read This House Of Mine but if u have u probably know exactly what my favorite part of that fic is) and this story had some EPIC high tension moments that I loved (the whole climax bro holy shit the portal and the imp and aaaa it was all so tangible). I adored the “wolf-man” reveal, was not anticipating that and loved it.

This is a surprise to probably no one because we all know I’m a style girlie even more than a cryle enthusiast, but my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PART was the shared vision of Kyle’s past with Stan, and everything surrounding the amulet. That shit was beautiful and heartbreaking. I truly feel like The Hunted was tailored to me lmao we got vampire Kyle monster hunter craig past style past creek corruption lies action gorgeous imagery friendship and fluff and angst and dire situations and trauma bonding and the overall message that the true monsters aren’t always who we think they are.

6. Show us a bit of a WIP!

Oh mannnnn, forcing me to get out of my shell. The only active-active WIPs I have going on right now (the TwoSet Violin B2TSM story has not Begun) are personal stories I've kept to myself!

They're indulgent works, set in a world I've been building since I was six years old. My biggest writing project has been to take all my childhood imaginings and build them fully as an adult. Like!! My life's work!! Isn't that sick??? AHHHH. So this means one WIP is a proper telling of a story I've had rattling around since 1999 or 2000.

When I'm off on my own, I moreso write to worldbuild than worldbuild to write, so in my indulgences, I've shirked off "reader expectations." I don't explain the world, I don't ease people into it, I don't care if anything (ex: languages or names) would make a person's eyes glaze over, I overuse descriptors if it means it solidifies my world in my mind, and if I want to write chapters that are more about the world or contextual details than a well-structured plot, so be it. But it's been an enthralling and fulfilling project. [squints] Let's see what I can share that won't sideline motherfuckers.

Kai and Miles were in her room, laying on her bed. School had just let out for both of them and they both knew it was only a matter of time before Miles had to leave.

they were talking about their days and what all they had to do that week before Kai's phone rang.

"one second babe" she said, answering the phone. "hey twin, wassup"

"say twin," the mystery person started, surprising the hell out of Miles with that deep voice. "you busy right now?"

"yeah, wassup though? what you need?" she asked, furrowing her eyebrows and took the phone off speaker and put it to her ear.

Miles sat and stared at her, now overthinking on what the conversation could possible be about that was so secretive.

"oh, okay yeah," she started, her lips curling up into a smile. "what time? i'll be there fasho" she said, standing up.

Miles's eyes followed her as she went into her closet.

"oh shit, yeah I got the same jacket!" she said, too excitedly for Miles's liking. "bet, tell Jayden nem ima come pick them up, aight?you need a ride too?" she asked before pausing and nodding. "okay. everybody be ready by 8. no fucking later or everybody getting left"

"k, see you later twinny" she said before hanging up the phone. she walked out of her closet, humming before she laid back with Miles.

"okay so tonight- okay wait you remember my friend Malik, right?" she asked him as he stared at her blankly.

"what I look like remem-"

"okay okay anyways, so he got a hotel room for us-"

"Y'all?!"

"let me finish! yes us but like us as in our lil group know? me, him, Jayden, mimi, tiasia, and Wes so boom, ima go pick them up around 8ish andddd yeah. you coming?"

she slowly glared at him, raising an eyebrow.

"deadass?"

she scrunched her face up at him, making him scrunch his back up at her.

"the fuck is your problem?"

"aight fucking smut" she mumbled, rubbing her head in the spot she hit it on the carpet in her room. "you doing too fucking much. ion say shit when you dip out in the middle of us doing shit-"

"yeah because what I have to go do is actually beneficial for the world. you just wanna go out with them smoochies you call friends-"

"don't fucking talk about my friends like that! especially not when they try to include you in the shit we be doing!"

"don't nobody wanna go out and party all the fucking time kaiana! damn, ion know why y'all think that shit so fun" he mumbled, rolling his eyes as she scoffed.

"you act like that's all we do-" "damn near." he cut her off, making her stare at him stupidly.

"so what? you don't want me going to parties? that's-" "ion give a fuck bout what you do on your own time." he cut her off again.

"stop fucking cutting me off Miles!" she yelled, getting frustrated now. "you not making no good points" he said, still scrolling on his phone.

"you're that mad?" she asked and he shrugged.

she nodded her head. "get the fuck out. take that attitude shit the fuck out my house."

he glared at her before chuckling.

"no"

she groaned, sighing. "please just tell me the problem Miles. this is our time together and we're arguing over my plans for later"

"that's my problem, kai. every time we finally get some us time, some nigga calls, y'all make plans, and the rest of the time we're together you just talk about those plans. I know shit like this is probably boring to you cause I know how you are, but I just want some alone time with you. to talk about shit other than what function you going to when I leave." he said, making her face soften.

"why couldn't you just say that, Miles? Im sorry, I didn't even realize I be doing that" she slightly pouted, playing with her fingers.

he finally put his phone down, and looked over at her. he opened his arms and she crossed hers. "ion know, you might throw me on the floor again" she muttered, rubbing her head again.

his face fell watching her body language towards him. "cmere ma, lemme make it up to you" he said, making her lay in between his arms.

he rubbed up and down her back before kissing her forehead. "im sorry" he said quietly.

"if you don't want me to go, I won't" she said, burring her face into his neck. he chuckled, shaking his head. "of course I want you to go and have fun. I just don't want it to be the subject of every single conversation from then on, yknow?" he said.

she nodded, sighing. "I really didn't realize..." she mumbled.

"it's fine, ma. im sorry for acting like that"
