What's your hair care routine? I'm also growing out a shaved head and I have no idea what to do with my hair, but I love how yours looks!
thank you babe! im incredibly lazy, i usually wash my hair like every three days and bent over a sink, i try to time it with uni or with any nights out i might have: i have curly hair and i still have the products i used to use when i still had hair, so im slowly reincorporating those in my routine as i see fit.
before washing i usually comb my scalp vigorously to basically give it a dry scrub and get as much gunk off as possible, then i just do a round of shampoo and put on a dollop of curl serum/conditioner which i rinse out with warm water; i usually towel dry and let the remaining moisture air dry, but now that it's getting colder i will blow dry a good amount of the moisture after towel drying, just so i don't get a pounding headache or a cold.
mind you, my hair really only looks good on the first and second day; on the third day it gets a bit more greasy and dirty, but im too lazy to wash it so soon and im also trying to train my hair to go longer and longer between washes (when i had longer hair i could go a whole week, but obviously that's untenable with a buzzcut or very short hair), so i usually comb out any visible dirt and brush my hair out of my face into a half-assed 7/3 style, so it looks a little more put together. i only ever go longer than three days when i have literally nowhere to go or if i can cover my hair in some way, and even then four days is the maximum i can go with this hair length (approx 6cm, a little more than 2in).

Just saw someone with bangs and black hair while I have another photo of a person with a similar hair style and color that I've been holding on to for about a year and wanting to use as a reference for my own #look but I'm tooooo scared to make such a change, even though my mom has been a brunette with bangs for the longest time (even when she was my age or younger) and she EATSSSS that look and we have similarly colored eyes & skin tones but I'm still afraid........ plus I've been growing to love my long hair lately, it's so luscious and thick and it's not a hassle to care for it at all. How long will I find myself regretting not buying that brunette bob wig last year until I finally snap and turn my own real hair into it?

Note
I tend to have frizzy hair or hair breakage and it bothers me 😭😭😭
Hmm 🤔
Maybe try:
-Using satin pillow covers
-Don't brushing your hair while wet
-Always detangle your hair from the ends, instead of starting from the roots.
-Use an infusion of rosemary and garlic. (boil it and apply it twice a week)
-Use paraben and sulfate free products.
(H&Shoulders, pantene, dove, those brands? Stay out of them. They're full of salt, sulfates and silicones)
-Don't use a tight ponytail or bun, it pulls at your roots weakening the follicles.
-Take vitamins like Biotin
-Wash your hair thrice a week. (Washing it every day only weakens it even more and dries it)
-Use the shampoo in your SCALP only. (Shampoo dries the ends) and the conditioner from your middle to ends
-Trim the ends every 3 months
-Sleep properly (high level of stress makes breakage even more prominent and hair to fall down)
Hope that helps!

Pjo hair headcanons pt II; Apollo cabin
-Will Solace
- Honey blond, it turns more towards a medium/light Caramel in the low, maybe and just maybe the light of the lyre when he was claimed has something to do with that
- a really tight 2c
- how tf is his haircut called? No one knows, is just a medium length that reduces the volume more you go down ( it can be similar to surfer curtains though)
- 30in1 and that's all, in especial days a little bit of foam ( 100% don't stealed from his siblings)
Kayla Knowles
- probably if you put a carrot at the side i would be the perfect mach... In fact Will and Austin confirmed that theory
- is barely down her chin, isn't supposed to be like that tough, no because it looks bad, in fact she likes the look, but it's uncomfortable to tie when she is in the archery range because half of it still loose and end up in her face, how the fuck it end up like that? Well, the battle of Manhattan, big and heavy things in bad situation, and a knife, that's all you need to know ( btw it used to be 2 hands down her shoulders)
- 1b and really thin
- Pantene color protec... It works for her ( that doesn't stop the Aphrodite cabin of trying to convince her to use anything but that thing)
- she already have the middle to points bleached to light blonde when she came to the camp, but the green was after a joke of the hermes cabin with blue dye, she end up liking it when it turned green a week before, it kinda reminds her to his Dad eyes.
-Austin Lake
- Really Dark brown, almost black, he has intrusive thoughts about dying it or getting some strikes every once in a while but he's scared of it end up fried so... Thanks, but no thanks.
- that isn't stopping him of putting some fake color strikes in his braids
- 4a
- half of the hair products in the cabin bathroom are his, it's not even that many things, but hes the only one that uses more than just shampoo and conditioner
And some quick ones for yan gracie and Jerry
- Yan
-Black and straight with a medium length Pixie ( i really don't have a headcanon for yan's gender but i always think of them as someone androgynous)
-Gracie
- belt length Golden Bronze curls ( the Aphrodite cabin had the best time of their lifes styling that thing, it was a bit messy because her mortal father was doing his best but not enough)
-Jerry
- Light reddish brown straight (1c) long fringe
(part 1)

Ok I’m dropping my haircare routine because I’ve finally unlocked the secrets
Wash hair 3 times a week, and oil it on the days between. When you oil it, use indian amla oil - it’s cheap as hell, smells great and is literally 🤌🏻 the formula 🤌🏻 to silky and glossy hair. Put it in your hair at night, cover with a silk scarf/bonnet and let that shit marinate.
When you wash it out on a wash day, use bedhead resurrection shampoo and shampoo it TWICE under lukewarm water. Do NOT shampoo the ends of your hair. Just the roots.
Instead of conditioner, I use the pantene keratin reconstruction mask - squeeze the water out of your hair and shove the mask on the ends. Again: let that shit marinate for 5 mins.
Wash it out under water as cold as you can handle. When you’re done, your hair should feel like wet seaweed.
Squeeze the water out. Do not rub your hair with a towel unless you actually want breakage and DONT BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT IS WET!!!!
Either let your hair dry naturally or if you absolutely have to use a hair dryer, use it on the cold setting. Avoid heat-styling your hair as much as possible.
You can use a single pump of anti-frizz stuff before drying if you also have frizzy hair like me - I use the frizz-ease silk serum by John Frieda when I have to blow dry it.
Once dry, apply a small amount of argan oil to the lengths of your hair.
The key is to oil regularly, and to stay away from heat, whether that’s hot air or hot water because it will strip the natural oils from your hair.
Finally, I only brush my hair with either a comb or a natural bristle brush. Brush from the ends upwards, don’t start at the top or you’ll rip your hair out and create more knots.
Do this for a week or two and thank me later when your hair shines like glass. 💅
The best thing about this is that it’s cheap as shit. No fancy stuff. You can get silk bonnets / scarves / pillowcases from ebay for less than a tenner. All in all, my haircare routine costs less than £30. You’ll save a lot of money, especially if you cut your hair yourself or get someone you trust to do it for you - I literally just cut it straight across at the back every month to get rid of any dead ends.

Hodge podge
Feeling better, but not paint a room better, so still working through stuff that's been hanging around the house.
I am finally finally going through the fabric hoard I inherited, and man, have I found some gems, including a gallon plastic bag full of silk (!) remnants, a vintage big suitcase full of yarn (acrylic, cotton, wool, and even some angora), and a ton of notions I didn't realize I owned. Cool beans.
Here's a close-up of the disintegrating pleather Switch-a-Witch top:
Tumblr media
The skirt is just as bad.
Around *mumble mumble* years ago, I scored a human hair bob wig for $5 at a thrift store. I was a little surprised to see it - I figured those are rare (and pricey), and normally you would gift something like that to someone else. I think it's for a kid, cuz it was dirty. There was pink stuff that looked like gum or chewy candy in it, and the hair was coarse and grungy.
After a brief internet search ("how to wash a human hair wig"), I gently combed out the worst of the tangles, ignored the recommendation to buy specialty wig shampoo, squirted some Pantene Pro-V 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner into a bowl of lukewarm water, put the wig in, and gently squeezed the soapy water through the hair. The water turned a shade of brown that made me queasy.
I rinsed, gently squeezed out excess water, wrapped in a towel to get the wig to damp instead of dripping wet, and then used a silicone-loaded conditioner all over it. I rubbed the conditioner into the hair with my fingers for a few minutes while watching a movie, and then back into the bowl it went for another rinse, squeeze, and towel-dry.
The next thing the instructions said to do was let the wig dry on a wig stand. I don't have a wig stand. I do have a Xin Meng Doll Magical Angel Iris, so I stuck a microfiber cloth over her head and put the wig on top to finish drying. She didn't complain, so I figure it was a decent hack.
Rainbow High combs have teeth too close together (they kept pulling out hair), so I used a Fail Fix brush to smooth out the hair. I like it:
Tumblr media
But also, I now know why it was donated instead of gifted. The wefts are super thin. If you don't have the hair styled just so, you can see straight through the wefts to the cap underneath. Imagine trying to convince a kid to keep their wig styled just so. Yeah. I'd have donated it too.
I think I'm going to Jayne Mansfield it and use some basting stitches to tack it to the other wig underneath. There's a LOT of space between wefts, and the cap underneath is a mesh, so I might try tying on some plastic hair to add more color, too.
I looked into doll knitting, and I found a suggestion I want to try: shrink the weight of the yarn and knitting needle gauge from human to the scale of doll you want. So if a human gauge sweater is (I don't know if this is right) 16 stitches over 10 cm, to make a 1/3 scale version, smaller needles and finer yarn would result in 48 stitches per 10 cm for a 1/3 scale doll (16 x 3), 64 stitches per 10 cm for a 1/4 scale doll (16 x 4), etc.
Turns out you can get all sorts of free people knitting patterns with lots of colors and designs from places that sell yarn. They want to sell yarn, and if you want to convince someone they need to buy something, well...
Tumblr media
Kitty. (Free pullover sweater pattern from Lion Brand yarn company) You can oh-so-conveniently choose your size and order all the yarn you need for a person. That's some clever marketing, Lion Brand.

Dropping my haircare routine for the guys (or gals) who want long silky locks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- I only wash my hair 3 times per week (using bedhead resurrection shampoo)
- I also oil my hair on the days between (using amla)
- when you oil your hair make sure you massage your fucking scalp for at least 3 mins. Do it at bedtime to relax yourself, then slick your ends, bundle your hair up in a silk scarf / bonnet, then go to sleep and let that shit marinate
- shampoo with warm water, condition as cold as you can stand it.
- I always squeeze the water out of my hair after shampooing and before conditioning, and when I do condition my hair, I use a hair mask instead (I use the pantene keratin bond one or the aussie miracle moisture)
- I leave the conditioner on for like 5 mins before washing it out and your hair should feel like seaweed when you’re done
- dont fucking rub your hair with the towel. Gently squeeze the water out.
- I only heat style it when absolutely necessary. Most of the time I let my hair dry naturally or use the cold setting.
- personally I only really use a comb and a boar bristled brush on my hair.
- the only other products I use on my hair are: argan oil (for a glossy finish once my hair is dry), an anti-frizz serum, and apple-cider vinegar diluted in water and used once per fortnight.
- I lied I also use box dye so if you don’t dye your hair, then your hair will probably look nicer than mine.
- final tip: brush your hair from the bottom up, don’t just try to brush your hair from the top down.
- Another good one to use is rice water (literally leftover water from making rice).

Drugstore Brand Conditioner Test Part 2
All the hair is dry, now, and there have been some surprises.
Tumblr media
Versus the wet-hair feel, the dry-hair feel of most of these is much better.
Tumblr media
Pantene Miracle Moisture Boost has the softest result. Not the smoothest while being pretty dang smooth. The hair feels light and soft and is pleasant to the touch. If you want soft over smooth, this is the winner out of the options I had. Even Cotton Candy’s inexplicably waxy and weird feeling hair is smooth and soft, now.
Tumblr media
Current online price for this one is 81.3 cents per fluid ounce.
Tumblr media
If you want smooth, go for the Garnier Fructis. Medley’s strands are smooth as can be expected from 30-year-old plastic hair. Not as soft as the Pantene, I’d guess because the smoothing residue in Fructis is heavier, this hair feels more like a good, fresh, high quality plastic hair.
I prefer smooth over soft because my biggest joy is getting hair that looks gross back to like-new glossiness, so this is my choice.
Tumblr media
Fructis’s price point is considerably lower than the Pantene at 23.6 cents per fluid ounce, which is also better for me considering how much conditioner I go through while working on ponies.
Tumblr media
As predicted, Seashell’s hair feels like I didn’t condition it at all. The heavy MAN SMELL is gone, though.
Tumblr media
Here I have sorted them by best to least hair texture (in my opinion) by touch, from left to right, with the Pantene Miracle Moisture Boost and Garnier Fructis in a tie for first place because both effects are excellent if a little different.
The only ones out of this list that I would say not to bother with are the OGX (which also has the strongest scent after drying) and the Dove (which no longer has a scent at all on the dry hair). Both of those ponies will need to be redone before moving on to setting their hair.

Hair tips
(Mainly for straight to wavy hair)
Oil
Instead of wasting money using a bunch of hair oils n things just let your natural hair oils (sebum) produce. Slowly start washing your hair less. I only wash mine every other week. It may be oily at times but it will if you use hair oils too and your hair actually doesn’t get so oily so fast if you wash it less often. The only time you should be using oil is if you have longer hair and your ends are dry but honestly even then you’re probably better off with a leave in conditioner. Use corn starch instead of dry shampoo.
Brushing
Use a boar bristle brush and brush your hair at least 100 strokes everyday. This will distribute your sebum more evenly and spread it towards your ends. massage your scalp every other day with a silicone scalp massager or your fingers for 5 mins or so. Don’t brush it wet. Wait till it dries.
Rice & rosemary.
Basically just boil rice and some rosemary for a while, strain it, and store the water in the fridge. I spray this on my roots right when I get out of the shower when my hair is still wet.
Handling
Wash your hair upside down, dry your hair with a cotton t shirt, put a clip at the roots of your front pieces for volume, use a silk pillowcase.
No heat.
always go heatless. if you don’t think they work for you or your hair type your doing it wrong and if you think they look bad on you you’re doing the wrong kind. Make sure to wash your hair with cold water too and maybe even ice your scalp.
Products
This is probably obvious by now but do NOT use brands like Dove and Pantene. Use a cleaner brand like native or something. Don’t go overboard. Did you know you can actually experience hair loss from having an abundance of protein on your hair? Not to mention product build up. Just eat lots of protein and zinc n things, use rice on your hair, leave in conditioner& occasional hair masks. Minimalism.
Your hair will naturally take care of itself on its own if you eat right so just don’t f*ck w it and you’ll be good.
That’s it for now but I may add to this.

Do you think she’ll add the conditioner next to the Pantene shampoo this time?
// I need to know which conditioner she uses so I don’t use it
I need to know everything she uses so I never use it. I think before she released the shower video I said “she looks like someone who doesn’t shower and just sprays some perfume on the vag”
Hi Alba! You look like someone who uses native deodorant in the summer and smells of Shreks swamp.

Haircare tips for people with ed's (I know I've done a couple of these but I've learned new things)
Some of these things you should continue to do even if you recover, these things will be marked with a *
At least 30 minutes before a shower (can be overnight) apply hair oil to your lengths and ends. Preferably coconut oil (ogx has a great one "coconut miracle oil", if that one is too heavy they have two lighter options)*
Vitamins. At the very least a daily multivitamin. If you can, go to the doctor and get blood work done to see if you are deficient in any vitamins. If you can't go to the doctor I recommend taking B12, Folic acid, vitamin E, Magnesium (try to find a blend of all types of magnesium), Vitamin D and fish oil. I am not a doctor and cannot provide medical advice, these are some of the vitamins I take based on research of what vitamins people with an0rex1a are deficient in
Protein is important. I know you hear it all the time, but that's because it is true. Protein is extremely important for your entire body, especially on a restrictive diet. Protein shakes, bars, protein based products (Kodiak, quest etc) are great for this. If you don't have room in your cal budget for protein, raise your limit. It's scary, but if you don't wanna be bald and lifeless protein is needed. I know a lot of us do this because we want to look sick, trust me you can still look sick eating 750 calories a day. Plus you can work out. Whatever it takes, eat as much protein as you can
After showering, very, very gently squeeze the water out of your hair with a towel. Do not pull, do not rub, take the towel, squeeze the hair and repeat until it is not dripping anymore. Then wrap your hair in a microfiber towel or T-shirt. Wait until it is slightly damp then spray heat protection/leave in spray (you can find these anywhere, if you don't blow dry then any kids leavs in conditioner will do. If you blow dry I suggest L'Oreal 21 in 1 or pantene 10 in one. You are looking for heat protection, detangling and UV protection at least). either air dry or preferably use a blow dryer on low for both settings (heat and air)*
Always wash your hair after a workout where you sweat. Do not leave sweat just sitting on your scalp and hair, it's bad for both
Be gentle. Malnutrition makes hair extremely brittle and prone to breaking, if you have straight hair only brush when it's dry. For curly hair only brush when wet and preferably do it in the shower while you have conditioning products in (hair mask, conditioner or leave in)*
For all hair types, after spraying detangler for straight hair, gently detangle with your fingers, pulling apart any knots you catch. Then brush. Try to limit brushing to once or twice a day*
If you have hard water (look up your areas water hardness) I highly suggest getting a water softener if you can afford one. Waterstick has one I've heard good things about (showerstick, roughly 280 USD). This will also help your skin as a bonus. If you can't get it then clarifying shampoos can help a bit, but not as much as the water softener. Pantene has a good general one and Kristen esse has one specifically for hard water*
I'd recommend haircuts at least every 3 to 4 months, but it depends. If you see split ends before that, get a haircut. If you don't see any split ends, you can go longer. Get your hair cut when you see split ends. (If you have very short hair just go every 3 months or however often you go)*
Never ever ever rip through knots with a brush, that is how 1.hair on non disordered people breaks 2. How you take big chunks out of your hair while being disordered. Take the time to undo the knot with your fingers
This is more for the appearance of hair but if you get layers it will look fuller.
This is all I got, I hope it helps. If you want more tips watch Abbey Yung on YouTube. She's a trichologist who shares the science behind haircare

Good morning love :3 9, 12, and 18?
Good morning my love!
Weirder asks
9. Which do you prefer, hot coffee or cold coffee?
Ooh, I am not a coffee person at all actually! But if I have to have it, I'd much prefer something iced and ice creamy mmm i.e. something with a LOT of added sugar ahaha
12. What kind of day is it?
Just answered this one here, but forgot to say it's been very cold inside my home, but the sky was so so blue 🥰 Oh! And this evening my mum is hosting her book club, so I'm planning on keeping myself out of the way and to play some sims and/or minecraft so it's gonna be fun i think
18. What hair products do you use?
Reminding me my hair is overdue for a wash lmao 💀 I use OGX Coconut Curls shampoo and conditioner which is kinda expensive but, when you forget to wash your hair super frequently I guess it's fine 😂😜 Sometimes I'll use random other products between washes with just water sprayed onto my hair, but the one I've been using most lately is the Pantene Instant Smooth detangling mist which smells SO GOOD oh my god I love it so much

18 for the weird asks!! Keeping on the slumber party theme ☺️
The full ask list here!
18. what hair products do you use?
I'm actually really boring with my hair and skin care. Lol. I use Pantene Color Protect shampoo and conditioner, dye my hair at home on occasion, and use a scalp shampoo when I notice that I've got a lot of itchiness/dandruff/build up (maybe once a month or two?). I also only wash my hair twice a week. But I do have one of those silicone scalp scrubbers that I use whenever I wash my hair and I love it.
Thanks for the ask! 💖
