Amity break the silence
What? what made this city so special?, the Justice League wanted to understand
After years of unsuccessful investigation, the Justice League managed to contact the reluctant people of Amity Park, who took themselves as independents, claiming that they did not need heroes since they had defended themselves long before the League existed and the government accepted their political independence in exchange of giving them nothing.
The League did not understand this, why were they forbidden to pass? Why did all their reconnaissance missions fail the second they entered? (Amity is a small town after all, they do recognize each other, this was never going to be helpful) after years of trying to ask the government itself the League was offered a bit of information.
The villagers invited them to see a tradition in the town, something private, just so they could understand a little what was happening. They forbade cameras and information release but they were advised to bring a magician and a curious enough member to the event, of course they were refused to interfere in everything that happened.
The League was surprised by this information but they agreed; when they got to the place Constantine was almost hysterical by the amount of death aura everywhere, the Amity Parker's denied and motioned for him not to say anything. This was directly the veil to the afterlife after all.
In the center of the city, 91-year-old Dash Baxter was smiling, and saying goodbye to his family, the League tensed at this, but the old man only dismissed their concern "It's my time" he whispered affectionately, and smiled at everyone who was reunited "I shouldn't keep him waiting so long."
Slowly and calmly, the old man sat down in one of the armchairs in the old park, right next to a flower-filled but nameless memorial grave, with a smirk he looked at the teenager who had appeared next to him the moment he moved closer to the grave "Did you finally come for my Fenturd?" He questioned mockingly.
The League was shocked at the suddenly emergence of a brilliant teenager, his appearance screaming "other world" but his demeanor calm and humane ; with a sad smile and a hand extended to the old man the boy spoke "We've had our good times Dash, but time always runs out, you're the last of us right?"
"Yeah, it was a good life you know? Even if I had to see Kwan and Pauli holding your hand first" the old man commented looking fondly towards his grandchildren, who were holding back tears "Do you know where I'll go now?"
"Well, I was hoping you'd tell me, but wherever you're going, I know I'll walk you there" the teenager stood up from the bench, taking the old man's hand gently.
"Yeah, I guess so, Kwan and Star are waiting on one side and Pauli on the other?" He questioned sadly, as if he was torn between impossible decisions, which he probably was.
"Yes, Paulina is beyond where I can reach her, will you go with her or will you come with us? Even if you decide to stay, you'll see her again when you fade away, so don't be so quick to decide, ¿eh? I know you're impatient."
"I don't know, it's still a pretty tough call, but before that" he looked at the League and then at the teen, assessing "I need to say, you're a good hero Phantom"
"Uh, that's something you haven't told me in years, back when you were a fan" the boy blushed a bright green, ignoring Dash's mutterings about remaining a devoted fan "Why bring it up now?"
"Because the new heroes need to learn that there are moments where it's not just about saving, but also saying goodbye, their circumstances aren't the same, but even they will have to say goodbye to their cities at some point" he sighed, his exhaustion was easily visible, reflecting in the old age of his face.
"You're being a bit harsh Dash" Phantom chided, though not entirely disagreeing "I was only given the privilege of accompanying you all, I don't think they will get the same treatment"
"Maybe I am, but you could have not done this you know? You always had the choice to run away from Amity, say goodbye, never look back; instead you stayed behind all the years, watching everyone you knew go extinct, how everyone ages while you continue the same until of your acquaintances only I remain, and even with the pain that everything causes you, you took the hand of each one of us, you accompanied us, you met our children, you were part of the lives of our grandchildren, always the first to arrive and the last to finish crying"
"Maybe it was out of selfishness, maybe I wanted to follow them to the other side too, hoping to find a peaceful end."
"Maybe, that doesn't mean that you never left Amity to her fate, even with all the threats to the world everywhere, you stayed here and I think that no one deserves a rest as much as you but you refuse to do so"
"Maybe Amity is all the world I need," Danny shrugged, "and rest would take it off my hands when I'm not ready to let go yet."
"Always the humble" the old man sneered "fine, have it your way"
Very few of the League guests could hear the conversation, but Superman seemed on the verge of tears as they watched as the old man closed his eyes satisfied with his last words, his breathing slowed and his heart stopped beating.
Slowly the teenager bent down to kiss the old man's forehead, keeping their hands together as a feeble spirit rose from the aging man, Phantom took the newly formed shadow's hand and motioned for it to come forward to his side, with an endearing expression in his face.
The last thing the heroes could see were the guiding lights illuminating Amity Park houses where both spirits were passing, until both simply faded from view.
"Oh" for the first time, Constantine seemed to be at a loss for words "That's why you didn't want us here" if anyone had paid attention, they would know how touched he was.
"That was Phantom" the old man's daughter smiled, wiping away the tears that had stubbornly remained in her eyes "Amity's first ghost, the only hero, who accompanies each one of us until the end"
"He lives in Amity?" Constantine questioned, still in shock.
"Yes, you could say, he lives in both Amity's" the woman replied with a small laugh "On the other side of the veil, where all the spirits that once inhabited this place are, and here, protecting us from everything, is a good boy"
"But, he's just a boy" Flash whispered, wanting to deny the existence of anything like ghosts, but Constantine's sad appearance or Zatanna's gaze didn't help his case.
"Don't let his appearance fool you" denied a girl next to the woman "Phantom has existed long before the League, when heroes were dangers and children dreamed of reaching Mars, did you want to know why we stay here? Why did the government agree to leave us alone?" She pointed to the spot where Phantom and the spirit vanished "For him, they put a bounty on his head long ago, so when they begged for help with their strongest threats, he refused."
"Why would they ask him for help?"
"Because he was the first hero, but he preferred to save Amity before the world" pride could be heard in the girl's voice "He made a deal with the government more or less, they leave us alone and in exchange if a universe level threat falls right here, he will take care of it"
"I don't know how helpful a kid would be," Flash muttered, still hesitating, but he was heard.
"Don't underestimate it, your strongest enemies are nothing more than mindless thieves to us" a boy from the crowd crossed his arms "to him, they are like children playing with plastic weapons"
"I understand" Constantine ended the conversation "thank you, for letting us see- all this, it's beautiful; someday do you think he will also take hands with someone from out of town?"
"I don't know, but if you die here after staying with us for a while, well, maybe he'll agree to accompany you too" the old man's daughter spoke again, the woman's eyes were warm, gentle even to him, a damned soul. "He already thinks you are good guys, or the barrier wouldn't have let you in"
"Was there a barrier?" Zatanna was in shock, she hadn't even felt a bit of it, it was impossible.
"Yes, all over the city, but that doesn't matter, are you satisfied with your information?"
"We are, we'll stay away from Amity" Constantine nodded, paying no attention to the protests from the paranoid heroes behind his back or the complaints about having more help on planetary threats.
"Thank you, and Constantine? You're one of the good guys too, remember not to forget that; when the time comes for the veil to part for you, I'm sure the Ghost King will pray for a peaceful end to your soul."

Ghosts have an epiphany
So something concerning happens to danny during one of his fights, maybe be started to rant about not wanting to do this, maybe did a move that was too advanced and the ghosts got worried or something
So all of dannys rouges meet up to discuss him and about him, and they decide(after some fighting and trouble) that they wanted to have a long talk to phantom about traditions and customs that ghosts should know, because its obvious he dosent know
So they ask where dannys lair is...
And realise no one has ever seen him go into him lair, so they all think back and realise that they dont really see him outside amity park unless something important is going on
So they decide to try going to amity park and talk to him...
Where they proceed to learn through a very pissed off phantom that amity park is where his lair is...
And that he has only been around for a few months and because SOME PEOPLE keep making him defend his haunt he cant make a proper lair
And all of them have a mental breakdown because
1. They've been fighting an infant
2. They've been invading phantom haunt (no wonder he's always pissed at them)
3. They've got their ass's handed to them by a baby who isn't even a fully developed ghost
4. Phantom dosent trust them
5. Phantom dosent know anything about ghosts because he's afraid to leave his haunt unsupervised
All of these things combined resulted in all the ghosts going to amity to apologise...
Whitch was a bad idea because now phantoms convinced their there for a mass takeover and refuses to listen to any of them
(Which, fair, as they realise phantom doesn't know ghost customs and has only knowes them when their invading his lair)
And dannys loosing his shit, ALL of his roughs show up in amity after being MIA for a month!!! He should have knowen better than to think his life could be easy

DP drabble
So, a while ago I saw a bit of a message on here that Jazz actually showed interest in the show into doing either neuroscience, becoming a lawyer or a professor. And i remember me in the notes giving a bit of a random angsty idea.
Either way, while at work today that idea decided to kidnap me and hold me hostage for a bit.
So now I am writing and posting this to get it out of my system so i can continue my actual fanfic project. It doesn't even have all the things i thought about adding but I just went with where my brain took me for now and that is it.
Fair warning, It is a bit of a long read about 3600 words and it is unbeta'ed and no editing. Trigger Warnings: murder, mention torture, mention unethical/inhuman medical experiments. mention suicide. non detailed home surgery (dont do this at home kiddos). slight gore (not graphic but heavily implied).
Have fun. and feel free to use it as a jump off point for your own ideas.
DP drabble - Neuroscience doesn't seem fun anymore
Jazz stares right ahead as she grips the steering wheel. She refuses to look away from the dark road and only permits herself a small glance into the mirror to the back seat every ten minutes. Shequickly realised she couldn't keep herself from checking on her brother and so instead just stopped checking the time.
It is dark outside and without all the street lights there is only darkness around them. She takes comfort in that, The GIW always come with a lot of noise and sound. As long as it is quiet no one will try and take her brother away from her again.
This had been supposed to be their year.
Jazz had been accepted into her first choice of college and she had been preparing her dorm room to include Danny. The year before had been hard but Jazz had managed to convince Danny that he could leave the lower risk ghosts to Valerie as the Red Huntress. That it wasn't Danny's responsibility. Afterwards she had sat down together with him, Sam and Tucker and gone over what the plan had been to help Danny pass and be able to finish High School on time.
In the end Jazz had gone to talk with Mr. Lancer and after a long story about how Danny has a bad fear of ghosts and with her parents being obsessed wiht them and always talking about them it put Danny under a lot of stress since the ghosts actually showed up. And if he could please help with setting up a program of some kind to help Danny pass.
Mr. Lancer had seemed doubtful but had tried and given Danny the chance to study in peace and with help. And Danny flourished!
That together with the less ghost attacks he had to take care of they had been hopeful that Danny would actually pass and he did!
Summer vacation had been about to start and Danny would just have to finish his last year and he could escape Amity Park too. He would have come to her and join one of the colleges there. They had both given up on their parents ever accepting Danny and had accepted they would just be on their own. Tucker would go to his own dream school and Sam would first do charity and than go to school before they would all try and meet up again when things calmed down.
They had had a plan.
Which is why it had felt like a stab through the heart when she came back early for the summer holiday to go collega touring with Danny, only to see GIW having set up a parameter around her house. She had demanded to know what had happened and they had just said that that menace of a ghost named Phantom had killed both her parents and her little brother.
Bull. Shit.
But she knows how to play this part. She immediantly started crying and sobbing as she planned. She needed to get to the lab, she needed the security footage they had there. She needed to get into her house to get Danny's emergancy bag.
She continued to sob and went to a hotel, gracefully paid for by the GIW in her trying and hard times. She went there, searched the room for any listening or spying devices, none had been installed. and she immediantly set up a phone call wiht Tucker and Sam, both had been out on trips with their parents and one check in later and they both agreed to ditch it and come to Amity Park for their last Back Up plan.
"Paris" or the long version and the song line they had worked off of "If we go down, we go down together."
Next, Jazz set to work on getting the last member they would need for this. Valerie. She called her and Valerie agreed to meet with her. Valerie had tried to start and say how sorry she was for her loss but Jazz hadn't let her start. She had looked Valerie straight in the eyes and said "Danny is Phantom. And I know the GIW lied as Danny would never hurt anyone. They have him, and I need to get him out. He never meant for you to be hurt in that ghost attack but he fears your rejection more than your hatred."
It had been a lot to take in for Valerie but she had already meet Ellie after all. It didn't take her long to connect the dots and she agreed to help.
With Valerie helping as bait to lead the GIW to a 'high level ghost threat' Jazz managed to get into her house and ran straight to her brother's room. It was a mess, the GIW had clearly tried to search it but Jazz knew they wouldn't have found it. After all, why hide something under your bed when you can hide it in walls? Jazz pulled out her own lipstick blaster and blasted a hole right into the wall. She pulled out the overly stocked medkit and his emergancy bag. She moved to rush out of the room before spotting the little astronaut build a bear in the corner, she had a matching doctor one. It held a recording of their parents telling them they love them. she grabs it mostly on impulse before rushing down the stairs towards the lab.
It seemed like the GIW had locked it but one swipe of her hand and the door happily swings open with "Come right in jazz-pants princess!" in her father's cheerful voice.
She runs down the stairs and-
Found her parents.
Both dead.
On the ground.
Covered in bullet marks.
The only thing making her able to move is the adrenalin rushing through her body. She naps evidence pictures before running to the main computer. She slaps in an USB and starts up the security footage as she closes the portal. Machines connected to it start to sound loudly but Jazz ignored them. Jazz knows that reception in the lab is terrible and unless it is special Fenton Tech there is no signal coming out of this radioactive hell hole that her parents made.
She starts copying files as she looks through the old and dirty filters. She will overload the portal with one and the GIW will never be able to use it against anyone. Jazz finds the right one and switches the filters around. The portal immediantly dings the warning and Jazz mutes it. She returns to the computer where the USB is whiping all the fiiles after copying them and sees the last file being played. It is a video.
The GIW stand in the basement with their guns out at Danny, human Danny. Her parents are shouting at the GIW and move between them and Danny. And the GIW just... tell her parents what Danny is and with somekind of electric shock force Danny to transform. Danny had stared fearfully at their parents but then... mom just.. kicks the GIW agent that shot at Danny. Shouting about how they dare to shoot her baby boy!
The GIW yell about ghost being unfeeling and that THEY had said so as well. And her father... her father just tells them that obviously they had then missed something because Danny clearly feels and is sentient and if he is part ghost it means ghost s are as well.
JAzz feels tears leave her eyes. their... their parents accepted him. They didn't even need convincing.
Sure, her parents may be absentminded, obsessed with work and may have been technically neglectful. but they loved them. and they fought for them.
And then the GIW shot her parents and managed to capture Danny as he tried desperatly to stop mom from bleeding out.
Jazz sobs real tears as the download finished as she grabs the USB. she runs to the weapon vault and grabs her weapons of choice, the creep stick, the booo-morang and the Fenton Peeler. Next she locks the vault and changes the password. She leaves the lab and locks the door behind her as she ignores the red flashing light. The blast would destroy the lab but the shock doors should keep it contained to the lab, the foundations of the house would crumble and collapse and bury the molten and destroyed lab.
By the time she returns to her hotel room she has gotten messages from Tucker. Tucker had found the location of the base from the GIW after hacking some cameras to follow their path.
Jazz met up with Valerie and together made a plan to storm the base. Valerie would set off every single ghost alarm in the city before meeting up with Jazz at the base with a car for Jazz to use.
The base.
Jazz sudders and pulls herself out of her memories. the road in front of her is still dark and her hands shake on the steering wheel. A glance to the back shows Danny, still breathing in his little cocoon of blankets. She can just see the top of his head.
which is covered in white bandages.
The room had been covered in blood. Danny had just laid there, lifeless. With the top of his skull removed while a surgeon had stood over him with a scaple.
Jazz sobs and her sight grows hazy with tears. She had stiched her little brother up before. Had helped with setting bones before. stitching on a scalp as much as she could have been terrible. She had almost vomited when she saw the cut of part of his skull just in a bottle.
Jazz can't take it anymore and stops the car. she turns off the engine and sits in the darkness for a while. She steps outside and looks upwards. In the distance she spots Valerie on her hoverboard. And that helps her relax.
Valerie's suit had something that caused ecto detectors to just not notice her tech. She would stay near to make sure to keep danny hidden. Sure they could have used an Ecto blocker or something but Jazz didn't want to risk messing wiht Danny's powers. One of them was accelerated healing after all. And she is counting on that to help save her brother.
She gives Val a thumbs up to show it is no emergency before opening the back door and checking Danny. the white bandages she had put on to help protect the wound were becoming very red and she grabs a new roll as she starts to process of making sure the wound is clean and protected. Ironically the moment she starts working on this task her hands still and become stable again.
Seems like her first year at collega had helped, especially all those extra classes to learn and look in on surgeries.
After it she checks his pulse and his breathing. Both stable even if a bit slower than she would like but she will accept it for now. She gently checks his temperature, still running a slight fever. She will take the fever over the ice cold she had feared that was common with corpses.
Jazz gently, oh so gently, places a kiss on his cheek before backing off and going to the side of the road for a moment. she needs a moment to breath before she can keep going.
She only gives herself a minute before climbing back behind the steering wheel and driving again.
It is just before sunrise when she finds the right city and drives in, she had been driving for a good fourteen hours to get here but it had been worth it. She gets to the address Sam had send her and easily says the name Tucker had send her.
While she had been rescueing Danny wiht Valerie. Tucker and Sam had been on their way back to them. Tucker had crafted new identities for them to who Sam wired pretty much half of the emergency stach she had been saving and getting from her grandmother.
They wouldn't have needed it if Vlad hadn't been a coward. Vlad, the moment he learned that Maddie and JAck had died had just, stared lifelessly ahead of himself. Jazz had been trying to get his assistance in saving Danny but he had just. not cared. He had told her to leave and while Jazz and Val, who had broken into his lab to get more gear, left they heard a gunshot.
Jazz shakes her head as she walks into the lobby and smiles pleasantly at the security guard, trying to ignore how uncomfortable the lenses are. It are brown ones and that together with having her hair hidden in her clothes and a cap it should do enough. the man, barely awake. asks for indentification and Jazz nervously hands the copies of her new ID. the man nods and gives them back before handing her a key "4th floor. to the left and then the second door. numer 416" and he turns back to his book. Jazz thanks him quietly before rushing outside to get her things and more importantly to move Danny.
With Val's help they get everything and Danny up to her new home in one trip where they find the pre-furnished studio appartment.
Sam had outdone herself, after Tucker made them new IDs Sam had moved quickly to get them housing near the collega where Tucker transfered her too. Jazz doesn't even want to know how Tucker managed to get her own credits over to her new identity while not tripping any wires but she will just trust him. she owns them big time and she prays they will stay save.
Talking about save.
She pulls out her phone and easily connects to the secret server Tucker had set up as she types her message "We are here. Red will help get us settled before leaving. please stay save you two."
To which she only gets thumbs ups as replies. ugh. sixteen year olds.
JAzz turns to Danny and smiles before looking at Valerie. Valerie has taken a hold of Danny's hand and whispers to him "You idiot. you better live you hear me? Because after this i want to her the truth from you. and then we can figure things out okay?" valerie stares at danny before sighing as she pulls away and straightens herself.
"Okay. What do you need?"
Jazz frowns as she looks to the side "I need stuff from a hospital but i can't ask that of you."
Valerie rolls her eyes "I asked you what you need. Just give me a list."
Jazz frowns but writes down a list that has been forming since the first moment she saw what had happened to Danny. She gives it to the other girl and Val reads it over. Jazz rubs her arm "I am so sorry I am asking this off you but-"
Valerie cuts her off "Don't be. I... I never tried to listen to him. Even after Ellie. It is the least I can do." she puts on her helmet again as she kicks open her hover board "I left the signal blocker with you. I won't need it as long as I don't use my weapons which I don't plan on. Stay save. I will also get you some food." and she leaves through the window.
Jazz sits down on the ground next to the bed holding Danny and waits. her heart still beating a mile a second as she holds Danny's hand and counts his pulse.
It doesn't take more than 30 minutes before Valerie reappears with her arms full of bags. she lays it all down and moves some salads into the fridge and some macaroni boxes into the cabinet. she shrugs "and the sink has water. that should be fine and won't go bad as long as you eat the salads first." she walks over toJazz nad Jazz wraps her arms around Valerie.
"Thank you."
Valerie hugs her back "Don't be."
"Please stay save on your way home."
Valerie nods against her shoulder "I will. keep Danny save?"
JAzz chuckles as he grip tightens "With my life."
They stop hugging and Valerie starts to walk down in her normal outfit "I am leaving my blocker here. that should keep you guys save. I will drop the car off a cliff somewhere before going to look for Ellie to keep her save."
Jazz looks at the other "And your dad?"
Valerie sighs but gives a grin "I will call him after getting rid of the car. And just explain the situation to him, he has been understanding about this for so long... I am sure once I explain it he will just tell others that I am off doing some road trip." she grins "Don't worry about me. I know what i am doing."
Jazz nods and wishes her luck before locking the door behind the other girl. She takes a moment to quickly eat a salad and drink water before starting to close all the windows and double checking the place.
Everything else on operation 'We go down, we go down together' now rests on Tucker's hacking skills and Sam's photoshop and editing skills. Jazz has her own mission to complete.
Which is.
She opens one of the bags with her and carefully removes the bottle holding part of Danny's skull.
She needs to put her brother back together.
she starts undoing the bandages and checks the head wound. still bleeding but slowing down, seeing the open wound Jazz is convinced it is because Danny is loosing what he has. She takes a deep breath and grabs the bag that Val had brought and takes out the operation gown, gloves and tools. she disinfects a tray and gently places it under Danny's head and takes another deep breath.
She had only had theory about this. she had been lucky to have even been allowed to look in on a surgery of two.
Now it is time to put her limited skills to the test and it was drown or swim.
And damnit she was going to swim no matter what.
Once she starts to doesn't get easier. it gets worse and worse the longer she has to look at the brains of her little brother. the fears of what kind of lasting damage this will do to him get worse and worse. the fear of her accidentally killing him gets worse each second. The only thing keeping her from a panic attack, the only thing keeping her from breaking down. is the slow rise and fall of her brother's chest. it is the weak pulse she feels when checking it.
It guides her forwards.
She isn't even sure how long it took her and she doesn't want to know.
But at the end. She somehow managed.
Jazz finishes the bandages again and smiles at her little brother. and for a moment sees the tiny five year old version of him dressed as a mummy made of toilet paper, ready to go trick or treating.
And she has to run to the toilet to vomit before she breaks down sobbing and crying. she stares at her hands covered in bloody gloves and throws them in the sink before rushing back to her brother.
Still breathing.
Still alive.
She sobs as she sits down next to the bed. one hand takes a hold of his hand, it feels cold, and she checks his pulse. Still going, still alive.
Jazz takes out her phone and finds the server. the last message she send was two days ago. She takes a moment to breath before sending the last needed message for a while.
"alive. time to burn the bridges." and she watches her phone.
Two thumbs ups appear within seconds. and a moment later a third tumbs up appears from the newest added number.
Jazz opens the news app on her phonea dn waits. moments later every artical gets replaced by a list of crimes that the GIW has commited and proof about ghosts having feelings in the form of interviews with Kitty, Johnny and Ember.
She keeps watching for as long as it takes until it appears. An edited version of the GIW attacking Phantom and taking him. of her parents saying they had been wrong and ghosts clearly do have feelings and to release him!
Then... the crime of them killer her parents. moments later of Danny trying to save their mom and them shooting him with something.
A short edited shot of the GIW torturing Danny in his phantom form.
Honestly? The cutting and pasting had been masterful. It shows the whole story but skips the part where Phantom and Danny had been the same person.
Then she sees the bit about herself. about her entering the GIW base as herself and then later a message from the GIW that Jazz had died. the GIW said heartbreak but now no one will believe that.
Jazz smiles as she puts her phone down and turns around until she can lay with her head on Danny's chest, where she can hear her little brother's heartbeat.
Now Tucker and Sam woudl make their own get away and they would go back to the original plan of eventually meeting up.
She smiles as she falls to sleep with the sound of her brother's heartbeat and knowing that the public will tear the GIW apart for what they did and the inhuman acts they commited.
If they want to hurt her brother.
They will have to deal with her.
And unlike Danny, Jazz has no problem fighting dirty.

danny phantom season 2, episode 17-20 thoughts! finishing up season two! the finale is the THIRD 2-PARTER OF SEASON 2. that's so many! I wonder how many season 3 will have?
see prev episode thoughts in this tag <3
-UERGH WHY DOES VLAD HAVE AN AI WITH MADDIE'S FACE ON IT. SOOO CREEPY. AND MORE 'CREATIONS' waiiiit. vlad is Dr. Frankenstein! (despite his ghost design obviously referencing vampires) HE HAS 'CREATIONS' HE MAKES THEN WONT TAKE REAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR!!! this bitch.
-danny was late and his friends immediately start going off about how hes inconsiderate, and has been treating them like sidekicks??? he just overslept, my god. chill. even if he has, be nicer about talking about it with him?? he really can't help that he sometimes has to chase the ghosts, or has a secret identity to protect...
-'what kind of ghost haunts a miniature golf course' umm. me as a ghost. next question
-imagine going home and theres a tiny child on your bed claiming to be your cousin. with as many cousins I have, I would probably believe her. but the 'ran away from home' BIT....SHES 12?? SHES SO TINY. I hate that they have her belly out in her ghost form, but I like how her colors are asymmetrical. something about her design...maybe the proportions?? are weird to me...anyway danny was good to feed her, but he shouldve taken her to his parents FIRST. or, tbh, probably jazz. (JAZZ DIDNT EVEN GET TO MEET HER!!! NOOO. I mean she said she'll be BACK BUT STILL)
-ANYWAY. shes voiced by AnnaSophia Robb, the girl who was in because of winn dixie, played as violet from charlie and the chocolate factory, and was the girl from bridge to terrabithia. (the movie that made me cry hysterically when I was 12 and I never watched it again because it Broke Me!) thats super cool.
-vlad sucks: the episode, basically. what's new!! I love how he's like, I'm Not A Villain. *immediately cuts to him torturing danny to make him transform, to get mid-transformation DNA, to perfect a Clone.* *immediately shows that he doesnt give a shit about his new daughter Dani and just wants a ''more perfect clone'' and will put her in danger to get that. will let her DIE to get that*
-Dani is danny's clone and is a girl? transgenderism....one of them has to be trans. or they both are.
-dani just. leaving at the end. WHAT? SHES 12. DONT JUST. NO!!! SHE WAS PROBABLY JUST BORN, A MONTH AGO AT MOST, RIGHT?? SHE NEEDS...SOMEWHERE TO LIVE. MONEY? FOOD?? A FAMILY?? AN EDUCATION???! WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S LEAVING!!! OKAY BYE I GUESS!!! D: concern!!!
-the next ep opens with skulker chasing a ghost down. ...does skulker count as a ghost hunter in the way valerie and danny do? I mean, sure, he hunts the good guys too, but he. he hunts ghosts...also, we haven't seen his Real Form since his debut episode! tiny...
-the guys in white are back! ngl, I assumed they were a gag for that one episode. you're telling me they might actually be a threat? ok.
-valerie in her lil nasty burger uniform looks so cute!! glad shes not in that mascot uniform this time. I guess she stopped hiding that she's working there now?
-gregor having white hair, dressed in black and white...and green eyes...sam has a Type, I guess.
-danny being unnecessarily hostile about gregor. danny!!! hes been nice so far. he looks a little...tall to be 14, but. danny doesnt know anything about him! (he does Suspect, but...you cant just spy on people and be rude to them from a hunch.) also, gregor kissed her, and when she freaked out, he was like 'oh no!! sorry, we can take it slow! I understand!' which was NICE. I hate jealousy plots still tho.
-altho. umm. tucker, being concerned about danny spying on them??? SAM AND YOU WERE SPYING ON DANNY AND VALERIE A FEW EPISODES AGO!!!!! im not saying its RIGHT, but dont be a hypocrite!!! AND THEN SAM BEING MAD ABOUT IT, TOO.
-DANNY IS A 7 ON THE SCALE OF ECTOPLASMIC POWER!!! out of 10? so I want to know where the other ghosts rank...I mean it's a list from the guys in white, so, it may not even be accurate, like, they havent seen ALL of his powers, have they?
-Lancer being like 'im not cooperating with the FEDS' until they said they could access his tax records. they already did that joke with jack, but like, its still funny. kings of tax evasion.
-tucker's aggressive third-wheeling. but gregor being super into it. gregor/tucker is the real ship here. then gregor kissing danny on both cheeks after hugging him. bi poly king gregor. (he does turn out to be a liar with a phoney accent. unsurprising, BUT THE CONCEPT OF HIM BEING GENUINE AND THEM ALL DATING IS FUN)
-THE...GUYS IN WHITE THINKING GREGOR IS DANNY PHANTOM. LMAOOO. GET HIS ASS. or,, Elliot. lmfao
-sam saying tucker is part of the package because theyre friends was super sweet <3 but also 'part of the package'...polyships are obviously the solution to these dumb jealousy/love triangle plots.
-danny crashed a whole plane. the collateral damage...
-is he....
Tumblr media
-you know....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.... (ITS NOT GAY IF YOU'RE DOING IT TO PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE YOU'RE NOT, AND LIE TO A GIRL. RIGHT? he was getting a little too into pretending to enjoy tucker's company, and the above...c'mon, guy.)
-lmao, freakshow is in actual prison. I didn't expect a follow up, or for him to show back up! in the finale of this season, too!
-THE SICK TATTOO GHOST IS NAMED LYDIA!!! more Lore On her. freakshow seemed genuinely concerned about her. also, is she mute? I don't think she talked the first time we saw her, either. and we didn't know freakshow 'envied' ghosts, either, the first time, we just knew he was controlling them. interesting!
-...they literally stole the infinity gauntlet from marvel and called it the reality gauntlet. is that legal. what the fuck. even with the gems in the lil slots, having different powers...they had freakshow in jail, but didnt check his pockets??! hes just still in his lil outfit??? what kind of ...oh, its in amity park. yeah, all of the adults are idiots, okay, sure.
-'freakshow!' 'in the anemic flesh!' dude take some iron pills then. also, sure, the red eyes could be contacts for his aesthetic, but the whites of his eyes are yellow! does he have jaundice?! he severely needs more...like, every kind of vitamin. (this is what im worried about as freakshow attacks danny with giant robots)
-again, goth circus is a sick theme, and I love his goth train.
-oh FUCK every single person saw danny transform. on a stage. including his parents via TV. oh god. the guys in white and immediately like 'youre coming in for experiments!' SCARY. at least the crowd is willing to help him to escape...perks of now being a local celeb! even the kids at school are accepting :) this is what, the third time his family has found out? its always been an alt timeline tho. and danny fully intending to just rewrite things again instead of...I dunno, trying to roll with it this time? hes really worried his family won't accept him, huh...
-'maybe our son IS THE GHOST BOY, but its not as if our family's ghostly activities have EVER PUT YOUR FAMILIES IN DANGER' maddie. mmmmmmmmmmmm. okay.
-danny 100% prepared to run away from home because of this :( oh :( and saying his parents are 'looking for him, or a scalpel to dissect him with' ouch...
-THE GUYS IN WHITE TRYING TO ARREST A 14 YEAR OLD. fuck da feds.
-side note (another one about voice actors...) freakshow's voice actor, Jon Cryer, was lex luthor in pretty much every DC tv show, which is why I recognized his voice, because my dad loves those shows so I've seen a good bit of them without seeking them out...)
-the old man saying 'hey, i still had minutes left!' and danny saying 'you gotta watch those roaming charges!' about danny destroying the people in the diner's phones so no one could report seeing him...would kids today understand these things. can you even BUY minutes anymore...I remember my first phone being a flip phone, and the fact I always had minutes when my sister ran out super fast, because I didnt have friends calling or texting me like she did...:/
-the fentons being genuinely like 'why didnt danny trust us and tell us this, we love him :(' and JAZZ LAYING INTO THEM WITH THE 'DISSECTION/MOLECULE BY MOLECULE' LINES. LITERALLLLY. they need to apologize
-technically, lydias stronger than you! -jazz lesbianism moments! when did you even learn her name!!! but also get freakshows ass. lydia is also cooler looking. looove her design sm still.
-jazz psychoanalyzing freakshow... (also, her also having ghost envy? au where jazz is a ghost!! id like to see it)
-im glad the kids still got to go to their respective vacation things, even if they cant really stick around and enjoy them much...
Tumblr media
-furry: confirmed. (also tucker calling her hot. tucker is a furry confirmed)
-danny being mad someone at the comic con is selling comics of him without permission, lmfao. give him his royalties!
-freakshow > thanos because hes a drama clown and does use his gauntlet to be FLASHY AND DRAMATIC.
-jazz's 'USE PYSCOLOGY' to danny about freakshow LMAOO. AND THEN IT WORKING. but, oh, freakshow's ghost form sucks. I like him as a clown better tbh. good thing danny took away his ghost powers!
-his parents hugging him and saying theyre proud :"( and saying 'of course you lied to us, we never gave you a reason not to!' and saying they were in the wrong basically for always talking about hurting ghosts aaaa :""(
-then he WIPED THEIR MEMORIES AGAIN!!! FUCK. I can understand him wiping the goverments/student bodies' memories, but why his parents?? they were being accepting!! ARGHHH. season 3 couldve been them all trying to adjust to them knowing!
-I know, on a meta level the showrunners probably wanted to just reset things to the status quo of him having a secret identity. But. We've been doing that for (2) seasons, I'd love if season 3 could be like, his parents adjusting to this and trying way harder to learn more and accept it (and the shenanigans that could come from that) and for fun, if he didn't wipe the students memories, it could be him being popular for a while, then everyone slowly realizing, oh, he's still Danny. Like. he might have ghost powers but hes Just The Same Guy instead of putting him on a pedestal (and seeing them all try and help him hide it from the giw/people who don't know!!)
-fuck they didn't even explain WHY he wiped everyone except sam, tucker and jazz's memories. he just Did It right when his parents were saying they loved/accepted him!! and sam and tucker didnt question it at all!!! HELLO??? very annoyed about this turn of events.
-anyway. onto season 3! I know its shorter than the first two seasons, and is the last season... I might just do it in 2 bursts if I can... :3c depends on the episodes' content and how much I want to say about each!

(now that the dannypocalypse is over, here’s my second @phicphight 2020 fic, this time based on @burning-clutch‘s prompt: “Reverse ghosts au. What would the odd ball rogues gallery be if they were human? Or perhaps Phantom turned Fenton? How would the human cast be as ghosts?”)
(word count: 3591) (AO3)
(part 2)
The teenager climbed over the cemetary gates and dropped onto the ground on the other side, being careful not to break her guitar. Not many people found comfort in the burial park, but Ember McLain was not most people. She had decided early on that she was going to be a rockstar. Whenever she found herself stuck on a song, she found that coming to this place helped her clear her mind. She held her guitar in front of her and gazed across the moonlit graves.
In the middle of the night, in a lonely cemetary
Under the gaze of the moonlight, a place that's just for me.
Was that too goth to use as lyrics? She strummed her guitar softly and was about to try working out a melody, but she paused when she heard something. Moaning coming from behind that tree. She walked over to it and looked around. "Ew, gross," she said with a grimace.
The couple who was making out hastily stopped. They blushed, not expecting to get caught, before Johnny glared at Ember and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?" Ember countered. She smirked and added, "Honestly, I thought you'd be too scared to step foot here at night."
Johnny huffed, but Kitty cut in and explained, "There's no better place for privacy than an empty graveyard...or so we thought."
Ember rolled her eyes and stepped back from their make-out spot. "Whatever," she told them. "I just hope the dead are fine with you two fucking over their graves."
"Like you're one to talk," Johnny retorted. "Playing a concert to corpses?"
Johnny must have meant it as an insult, but Ember thought that sounded like a badass song title. She was about to tell him as such when Kitty suddenly shuddered. "It's cold," she commented.
Johnny gave Kitty a flirty smile that made Ember want to punch his face in. "You want to borrow my jacket?" he smoothly asked.
But Kitty didn't say that as romantic bait. Ember shivered as she, too, felt the cold growing around them. She slung her guitar onto her back and hugged her arms just as the wind picked up. And it picked up strong. Ember had to plant her boots into the soil to keep herself from being buffetted by the gust. Before her, Johnny and Kitty held onto each other.
"A storm?" Kitty exclaimed over the whistle.
Something wasn't right, though. The wind seemed to be converging into one swirling spot right inside this graveyard. Ember turned to face the direction the wind was moving to, her brown hair flying around in her vision. All of a sudden, despite the lack of clouds in the sky, a bolt of blinding green lightning flashed down and neatly struck one grave.
The afterimage of the flash was still lingering in her eyes when the whirlwind faded as quickly as it had started. A split second later, she felt the pressure drop and the breath leave her lungs, as if the earth was sucking up all the air. She shielded her eyes as a second flash of light appeared in the same spot (and this time, she could swear it came from the grave) before the air finally settled back to normal.
Seconds passed. Nobody spoke.
"What the fuck just happened?" Johnny finally broke the silence by saying.
Ember said nothing, only stared at the grave where the lightning had struck. Gingerly, she picked up her feet and began to walk toward it.
"Where are you going?" Kitty called to her. Ember glanced over her shoulder and found the other girl still in Johnny's hold, her dyed hair sticking out wildly from being abused by the wind. She was staring at her with wide, scared eyes.
Ember gulped and kept going. She was now close enough to the grave to make out the name etched onto the tombstone: DANIEL FENTON.
Ember stopped in front of the mound and realized she had no idea what she was doing. Nothing peculiar was evident in the grave, nothing to suggest that it had been hit by the strangely green lightning.
Then--a hand broke through the soil.
A scream rang behind her, one you would expect to come from Kitty but was actually from Johnny. Not that Ember could judge, considering she jumped ten feet in the air and backed away in bewilderment as the hand--the human hand sticking out of a grave--fumbled around for a grip and began to pull the rest of its body out.
Ember removed the guitar from around her shoulders and held it in her hands like a baseball bat, watching the living corpse with baited breath. The soil shuddered, then parted as a dirt-specked head poked through. Black hair, pale skin, and sunken eyes. The eyelids fluttered open, revealing eyes that were as green and radiant as the light from before. Eyes that stared at Ember.
Ember screamed and swung her guitar at him.
The head bobbed in place comically for a second before it fell limp onto the earth. Ember dropped her guitar/weapon and scampered back. Now that the undead boy was unconscious, Johnny and Kitty gathered up enough courage to approach the grave and stand by Ember's side.
"What the fuck," Ember heard Johnny mutter over and over under his breath.
Ember tensed her muscles to keep them from shaking. Slowly, she moved back closer to the grave. When the body didn't stir, she dropped to her knees and observed him closer. His nostrils were flaring, air coming in and out. Breathing. Somehow, alive. Just to make sure, she tentatively held out a shaking hand and pressed it against his wrist. Her fingers were met with a soft but steady beat.
"He's alive," she said, unable to believe it.
"How?" Kitty asked, voicing the question that was in all their heads. "We just saw him crawl out of a grave."
"I--I dont know."
Ember watched the boy...Daniel Fenton? breathing softly. He looked so young and peaceful, it was hard to imagine he had ever been dead. Ember tightened her grip on the boy's wrist. Then she stood up and started to pull him the rest of the way out.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Johnny exclaimed. "That's literally a zombie."
"He's not a zombie," Ember replied with a grunt as she tugged him out of the earth. "Zombies are dead."
"Alive or not, there's no way that guy's a human. I mean--" He gestured wildly to the grave and then added, "I swear, this is how horror movies start. Don't blame me if he eats our brains when he wakes up."
Ember set Daniel on the ground and knelt next to him. She didn't understand what was happening, or how he could be alive after crawling out a grave, but she couldn't just leave him inside a grave. He couldn't have been any older than 14, a year younger than she was. As she observed him, she saw color seep into his pale cheeks, hiding the idea that he had ever been anything but alive and healthy. For a second, she found herself doubting whether she had imagined his grave, but a quick glance over her shoulder told her that the dug-up grave was still there, and a second look at Johnny and Kitty's expressions assured her it was no dream.
The boy stirred, making Ember jerk in surprise. She watched as he inhaled, then dissolved into a coughing fit.
"Are you okay?" she reflexively asked, then realized after she said it how ridiculous the question must have sounded after she had whacked him in the head.
Daniel's eyes flew open, revealing icy blue irises. That was weird. Ember could have sworn they were green before.
He took in a breath, then another, as if he was new to the sensation of breathing. He stared at Ember, then down at himself. He lifted one hand, then set it back down on the grass, touching the blades of plant with his fingers. Finally, he spoke in a soft voice and said, "It worked."
Ember wasn't sure what she expected him to say. Actually, she wasn't sure she expected him to speak at all, so hearing him say those two words startled her. "What worked?" she questioned.
He looked at her as if he only just noticed she was there, but he ignored her question. Instead, he tried to lift himself into a sitting position. In the corner of Ember's vision, she saw Johnny take several steps back as Daniel moved.
It took him multiple attempts to sit up. Each time he pushed himself on his arms, they buckled under his weight, and he fell back. Finally, Ember felt too sorry for him and offered him a hand. Daniel's eyes slightly widened when he touched her skin, and he flexed his fingers in the air after she let go.
Kitty, who was apparently braver than her boyfriend, stepped toward the boy and asked, "Who are you?" After a moment's hesitation, she added, "Is your name Daniel Fenton?"
He looked up at her in surprise, then noticed the empty grave behind her with his name on it. "Oh. Yeah," he said. "It's Danny."
"Danny," Ember said, testing the name on her tongue. "What were you doing inside a grave?"
Again, he didn't answer her. Instead, he asked, "Where am I?"
"Uh. Amity Park's cemetary."
"That's in the human world, right?"
The question caught her by surprise. "The...human world?"
"I knew it!" Johnny exclaimed. "This guy isn't human. Come on, Kitty, we're leaving."
Kitty looked like she was about to argue, but just then, the sound of tires on gravel was heard, and all teens turned toward the cemetary's entrance. In the night's darkness, they couldn't see the car or the person who came out very well, but they could see the beam of flashlight he held that roved across the yard.
Kitty cursed and muttered, "It's Walker." Then she joined her boyfriend in running away.
"Walker?" Danny asked. "What's a Walker? Is it bad?"
"Walker is a cop," Ember explained, "and yes, he's bad."
Ember turned to scram as well, but then she heard scuffling in the dirt and turned back to see Danny still struggling to pick himself up. He was new to all the tendons and ligaments in his limbs and the body mass he had to carry. Ember glanced at the cemetary gates, where the flashlight was bobbing closer, then back at Danny doing a good impression of the worm. Finally, she sighed, hooked an arm under his armpits and picked him up. He felt light and fragile in her grip.
"Come on, ghost boy," she said and dragged him with her to the back edge of the graveyard.
They reached the wall just in time to see Kitty disappear over the edge. Ember paused at the foot and looked up. She could probably climb over fine, but how was she supposed to carry Danny over?
Fortunately for her, she felt Danny's weight lighten at that moment and turned her head sideway to see he had finally learned to stand up on his own. He stood facing the wall, his arm still around Ember's shoulders. Ember thought she imagined a sudden chill spread from his hand through her body. A tingling sensation enveloped her. Then, with surprising strength for someone who couldn't push himself off the ground, Danny pushed them both toward the wall.
Ember yelped and closed her eyes, sure she was going to hit her face any second now. She went forward, but the impact didn't come. Cautiously, she opened her eyes again, then had to blink them several times to make sure she wasn't imagining things. Both she and Danny were on the other side of the wall.
"What--" She looked at their surroundings, which was very much not the cemetary, then craned her head around to look behind them, where the wall was still very much there. Her eyes landed on Danny, and her heart skipped a beat as she saw, for a second, his eyes glow a faint green before dimming back to blue.
"You--How?" After stammering for a while, she said, "What are you?"
Danny met her eyes with a puzzled expression. "I thought you knew. You said it yourself." Before Ember could ask him what he meant, he gestured to himself and said, "Ghost boy."
It took all of Ember's willpower not to faint then and there.
Danny glanced behind, then back at Ember. "Walker bad?" he said.
"Uh..." She shook herself back into alertness and said, "Yeah. Walker bad."
They kept fleeing.
There were two problems. One was that Ember's house was pretty far from the cemetary. The long walk between here and there had never bothered her, but that was before she had a ghost-turned-zombie shuffling by her side with Walker possibly on their tail. At the rate they were going, a snail could probably catch them easily.
Ember heard a pained moan come from Danny. That was the other problem. Despite how healthy he had seemed back in the graveyard, now his breath was ragged and his head was slicked with sweat. Ember looked down at him and saw his face turn green.
"You okay?"
Danny nodded, but he didn't look very okay. "Fine. I just need..." He trailed off before he could finish the sentence and gagged. Ember realized what was coming and quickly jumped away from him, and not a moment too soon. Danny bent over and vomited.
"What in the--?" Ember was really hoping she was done seeing the strangest that this day had to offer, but when she looked at the pavement, Danny's emptied stomach content was a glowing, lime green goo.
Danny's face stopped being the shade of guacamole, but it went back to being pale. His eyes were faint green under his half-closed eyelids. "Ah," he said. "My soul is still adjusting." Then he began to sway.
Ember caught him before his body could hit the floor. Her boot accidentally stepped into the puddle of vomit-goo, which disgusted her to no end, but now was not the time to worry about that. Even though Danny was light, she didn't think she could carry him all the way to her home. She glanced around at their surroundings, and relief flooded through her when she recognized the neighborhood. One of her classmates lived here. One who was fortunately too nice to turn down helping someone.
Ember dragged Danny to one of the houses, which was identical to every other in the neighborhood except for the adress. She rang the doorbell and waited. A minute later, the door opened, revealing a scrawny male teenager with huge glasses, buck teeth, and an upturned nose. "Ember?" he said, then noticed the unconscious boy in her arms. "Wh--"
Ember jammed herself through the opening and forced herself into his house, closing the door behind her. "Hey, Poindexter," she greeted. "Think I need to crash here for a while."
Sidney Poindexter glared at her, but he didn't refuse. "What did you do this time?" he said, then his gaze landed on Danny, and his eyes widened. "Wait--you didn't mug him, did you?"
"Nah, he was already dead."
"He's dead?!"
"Sort of. It's a long story."
"Hold up!" Sidney waved his arms wildly and declared, "I might do your homework for you, but that doesn't mean i'll help you cover up a murder!"
"I didn't murder him! Like I said, he's only sort of dead."
"What is that supposed to mean?!"
Ember set Danny on a couch. A trickle of green ran from his mouth, probably still there from his stomach purge. "Honestly, I'm not sure."
"You're not making any sense. Who is he?"
Ember looked at Sidney, who was waiting for an explanation with his arms crossed, as if that would intimidate her. She sighed and plopped herself onto the couch next to the unconscious sort-of-dead person. "Danny. Daniel Fenton. It was written on his grave."
"...His what?"
"Yep," Ember said, popping the 'P.' "He climbed out of a grave."
Sidney was speechless for a moment. "...He what."
Sidney came over to the couch and looked down at the body, noticing for the first time the soil that sprinkled his form. He raised his eyebrows at Ember. "This is a prank, right? It's not very funny."
"It's not a prank," Ember assured.
"So, what, you expect me to believe that this person came out a grave alive--or half-alive--and you brought him to my house?"
Hearing Sidney say it like that, it did sound awfully stupid. Ember sunk into the couch and sheepishly said, "Yeah...I'm not sure why I did that."
"This isn't funny," he repeated. "Who is he really?"
"I already told you. Danny Fenton."
"That can't be him, because the Fentons are dead!"
Ember looked up at Sidney. "You knew the Fentons?"
Sidney hesitated and shifted on his feet. "My grandma did. She said they were the city's whackos. They were obsessed with ghosts, even tried to build a portal in their basement, but I guess they failed because their house blew up and they died. A couple and two kids."
Ember let that information sink in. A portal into the ghost world. Now Danny had come from there to the human world. She remembered his first words in the graveyard: It worked. Could his parents, as ghosts, have completed their portal in the afterlife and somehow sent their son here?
"Okay, this is gonna sound crazy, but..." She told him her theory.
"That's prepostorous," Sidney said once she was done.
"I don't know, man. This whole day has been preposterous."
"You're telling me--" he pointed at Danny--"that this guy is a ghost. But he doesn't look like a ghost."
"That's because he got resurrected...or something. I'm not sure."
Sidney looked like he was about to make another argument, but whatever words he was about to say were cut off by a gasp.
Ember felt the couch beneath her shift as Danny's weight lifted itself off. By that, I mean it really did lift--the boy had righted himself into a standing position suspended in the air, a foot off the sofa. When he opened his eyes, they were bright green again.
At this point, Ember had come to expect the unexpected from Danny, so she was fairly calm about him hovering in mid-air. However, Sidney was staring at him wide-eyed and slack-jawed. Danny knitted his brows, as if he was confused by Sidney's shock. He looked down at himself, then understanding dawned on him and he looked back up and said, "Oh, right. Humans can't fly, right?"
Sidney opened his mouth and closed it several times wordlessly before he finally stammered out, "G-g-ghost."
Danny settled himself neatly down onto the couch, and his eyes returned to blue. He frowned. "Well, I'm supposed to be a human now, but apparently I'm still part ghost. Maybe I'm somewhere in between. Half a human, half a ghost."
"Great," Sidney said with a gulp. "You're a halfa."
Ember raised an eyebrow. "Halfa? Really? You couldn't have come up with a more creative word for hybrid?"
Sidney ignored her, instead turning his attention to the so-called halfa. "What do you want from us?" he demanded with narrowed eyes. "Are you going to kill us to expand your undead kingdom in the ghost world? Will you take over the living realm as your own?" He hugged himself protectively and questioned, "You're not going to steal our bodies, will you?"
Danny seemed amused by Sidney's suggestions. "No. I'm not the ghost king. I'm not doing any of that."
"Then what do you plan to do?"
Danny turned his gaze down like he was mulling it over. "I just want to live," he finally said.
For a long moment, there was silence except for the soft ticking of the grandfather clock from the hall.
Sidney hesitantly broke the silence by asking, "You're really Daniel Fenton?"
Danny shifted in his seat, but he nodded. "Just Danny is fine."
Sidney collapsed onto an armchair in the living room and rested his head in his hands. "Right. This is normal. Totally normal."
Ember studied Danny. He looked better now--his breath was even, and he wasn't vomiting any slime--though his skin was still a shade paler than what is generally considered healthy. Maybe that was normal for a halfa. She thought back on the night, which felt like a week long. All she had expected to do that night was play some guitar...
"Fuck," Ember said a little louder than necessary. The two boys turned their attention to her. Ember despaired and said, "I forgot my guitar at the cemetary."
Sidney raised his eyebrows at her. "You met a dead person, and that's what you worry about? You can go get it back in the morning."
"You don't understand. Walker's gonna see a dug-up grave and my guitar and think I robbed a grave."
"Well, I mean..." He jabbed a thumb at Danny and said, "You did take something with you."
Ember didn't find that very funny, but Danny laughed. A soft and cheerful laugh. She saw the boy smiling and felt just a little bit less angry.
"Oh, that reminds me," Danny said, and he turned in his seat to face Sidney. "You don't happen to have a way to contact the ghost zone, do you?"

heres some idea’s for redesigns along with some bulletpoints on what I was thinking for story stuff involving remaking the series
Im having trouble reading off the screenshots so Im gonna write it out under the cut along with probably adding some ideas or expanding on the bullet lists (future me here: I wrote a Lot)
Sam Manson:
-Rich Activist, meaning she’s kinda blind to some troubles going on or doesnt full understand how others are doing financially, along with being raised in a house with people who arnt exactly empathetic and more focused on appearances then worker rights, sam can come off as shallow to others doing activist work.
it could be a really interesting character arc for her to realize some of the things going on outside of her school and plants that she can help with, along with dealing with that sense of helplessness she feels at being to normal to help anyone she expresses in the show.
-Goth, but cheery? One thing i noticed in the show is how overall cheerful sam can come off while toting goth ideal’s, which may be a part of why she isnt shown to have many goth friends with them seeing her more as a poser becouse their teenagers and teenager Be like that sometimes.
It’s not a problem in my book but it could be fun to see tucker or danny question it when in goth spaces and sam basically saying the truth that you dont have to be miserable to enjoy dark subject matter. maybe with tucker and danny getting a small interest in some of the “lesser” goth stuff sam introduces to them.
-fights everyone, becouse teenager with boundless energy and Ghosts attacking all the time. sam didnt fight much in the original series and thats a shame.
-facinated by ghost, becouse duh
-I was kinda thinking of her and tucker being introduced by them competing for class president, becouse that seem’s like a position both would be interested in and it be more interesting then having tucker face dash
Tucker Foley
-Likes to influence others is a general statment, but its true tucker likes to be involved in other peoples lives and generally have his oppinion affect people in possitive (or negative) ways. he likes seeing that his involvment matters and he suffers when people ignore him or take his oppinions for granted and id love to see stuff centered around this trait
-level 1 leader/planner, sorta connected to the influencing people thing I think tucker really would thrive in leadership roles that danny just isnt suited to handling, big mobs of people and sam on his side and he is a force to be recond with. Tucker thrives in getting big groups of people to side with him esspecially since technology profficientcy isnt a sign of weakness in this day and age.
plus him working on his public speaking lines up with his motivation of wanting to be attactive to ladies.
also Having him working on public speaking stuff and general people person scenario’s gives a lot of reason for the group to interact with the A listers in a less hostile scenario
-tech god I guess, becouse tucker foley
Dan Phantom
-Incarnation of discomfort being the unintentional (At least the first time) fusion of a stubborn 14 year old and his crazy 40 year old father figure with very different morals and oppinions makes existing very, very akward for dan, but great comedy fodder!
-dan is able to have legs or a ghostly tail whenever he pleases unlike vlad or danny, becouse I figured it be a good way to make fights more interesting and their fighting styles different becouse I want more vlad involvement and having  them be extra different types of ghosts makes watching either of them fight much more interesting
-wishes to not exist, esspecially in the presense of either danny or vlads love interests becouse WOW thats akward
-WAAAAY more powerful then danny and vlad, partially becouse making dan a final everything is going to hell desperate final action for danny and vlad would make dan’s appearances more interesting but also becouse of difference’s about vlad plasmius and danny phantom I will talk about when I get to them.
Dan Discomfort Masters
-“Vlad’s nephew” becouse if you’re meeting this guy stuff has gone horrible wrong on the de-fusing front  and he needs a reason to be in either fenton on masters house hold to get whatever he needs to fix the ghost catcher
- big ol liar pant’s, partially becouse danny and vlad are Huge Liars but also becouse of the whole, I need shit to stop existing
-Trying to keep it together becouse he’s probably made to interact with people vlad and danny have Opinions On and honestly he cant decide if he wants to viciously prank jack at every oppertunity or punch himself for thinking of being mean to jack, among other such mixed feelings.
Vlad Masters
-Certified genius due to a number of thing’s including his obession, and becouse being smarter then jack makes him happy and if jack ever expressed interest in a subject He Must Be Better, he might not be trying to kill jack becouse he doesnt want to deal with a ghost hunter ghost for who knows how long but he wont be lesser then jack in ANYTHING.
-fruitloop, still has some backwards logic and morals such as having valarie become a ghost hunter to offer a sparring buddy to danny and whats a better motive to shoot at someone then they ruined their life right but he’s generally such a over the top bird brain trying to show off to everyone that fruitloop is the only description he can be given.
-less evil is a Big Thing, he’s still objectively not a very good man but I want him and danny working together and sharing a roof on the weekends but that means not shooting first and asking questions later on site, so a less evil vlad is needed, plus it just generally makes there interactions more fun and less dangerous which is what im going for, since walker can take over a lot of vlads antagonist role in the story plus danny and vlad making agreements to get stuff out of eachother sounds like a hell of a lot of fun, i liked eye for and eye vlad sue me.
- as a side not I want vlad to be a lot less physically fit and practiced with doing things as a human, seeing him as a man who lords his power over others when he can he prefers relaxing and working as plasmius more then masters, which affects his health and serves a purpose in story for a lesson id like made after watching phantom planet last night
Vlad Plasmius
-loving guardian in that he really, really does want to be a good father and mentor figure to danny even if their relationship is rocky due to long standing lies he’s been feeding him and how tight a grip vlad has on his familys financial health. as well as the whole snatching partial costody as soon as costudy was called into question after dannys accident (Ill get to that) vlad’s babysat in the past for the fenton which is part of it, along with his desire to be better at jack in every aspect.
-great implorer, in which he likes to get minions when he can and usually only grumbles if his minions already have plans when he calls for them, pays great by ghost zone and human standards and usually offers a full health plan, though skulkers case that full health plans is for when he gets his head up his ass and thinks he can actually get either danny or vlads pelt, one of skulkers suits is on vlads lab wall with a nice hole where its face should be as a reminder to those who cross him.
-only legs,  meaning he uses 100% more kicks and ground based attacks then danny and can kick below the bet where danny cant, this plus his fire core making him have to get creative lest he burn his surroundings to the ground has him fighting in a very different way to danny, along with his 20 years of experience. vlad tends to fight ghosts with less reason to leave the ghost zone, and invading lairs to get what he wants, leading to more serious encounters then what danny faces in the begining.
-loves dramatics, becouse vlad plasmius everybody he’s a cookyier villian here
-less evil and more ruthless and efficient to those who get in his way, that arnt who percieves as family
-Plasmius’s obsession is teaching people lessons, in all the good and horrible ways that can imply. halfa’s have more broad and less restrictive obsessions then other ghosts which makes them more dangerous and able to ammas power.
Danny Fenton
-Fenton works heir, which is played up a lot more in this with vlad backing his family and giving them chances to disgrace themselves on public telivision and get shamed out of wherever their currently living, leading them on a series of moves throughout dannys life before amity park show off their inventions to the world! Since Jazz aggressively refused the role it fell on danny and he actually takes it pretty seriously, believing as a little bab in ghosts and being convinced of their evil from a young age by his parents which you can only imagine does great things for him when he becomes a halfa and learns unkie vlad is one as well.
-has been haunted by the creepy ghost boy title his whole like due to his situation and the fact he is usually made to assist in showing off his parents weapons publicly as a apprentice ghost hunter, one such invention was the fenton portal that had a wire loose during the presentation, when he went in and put it back the doors automatically shut him in and jack and maddie didnt notice he was in there still until the screaming started, this led to some public outcry over weather jack and maddie are fit to raise kids and vlad swooping in for partial costudy of both fenton children “to ease the masses, and besides he’s basically helped raise them anyway whats garenteed weekends at one of vlads places going to do?”  it was a sucky situation.
-bad reputation due to general protectiveness of his parents along with terrible social skills, along with his new trouble of hiding and controlling emerging ghost powers. He doesnt leave a initial good impression on sam and tucker when he first meets them as fenton, and people tend to avoid him to keep away from his parents wierdness anyhow.
-is less good in the traditional sense but wants to keep people safe and happy if he can help it, though its argueable if thats simply a manifestation of his obsession or if its just becouse he’s a sweet kid, once he gets it into his head that ghosts arnt always evil he tries really hard to be nice to ghost too and even tries to save them from his parents when he can. putting his neck out for them.
Danny Phantom
-just wants a lair is a shorthand for wanting to just experience regular ghost things when he’s going ghost, he’s less inclined to fight every ghost he see’s unless their actively hurting people and tries to talk them down, not wanting his afterlife filled with enemies when he officially keels over.
he has big dreams for a super cool lair of his own that are explored upon the one time he’s split apart by the ghost catcher, mostly becouse phantom rips the  door to his room from its hinges and zooms into the ghost zone as soon as he’s out, found aimlessly wondering helplessly looking for the PERFECT location to start building. he tends to day dream about the lair of his dreams in class.
-no leg’s leading to more air combat and trying to immobalize people with his tail, usually fighting fairly though with his moments of cheap shots in partiicularly deadly battles,, he usually fights people like johnny 13 who mess with people then he does generally harmless ghosts like box ghost in the begining, plus with his in development abilities that include a versatile ice core his fights are more strategy  then sheer beat down or creative weapon making (or heating whatever metal the ghost is wearing to the point of insanity)
Danny also has this little problem where he “died” in a anti ghost hazmat suit made of stuff to weaken and harm a ghost who comes in contact with jack and maddies little boy and it means its harder on him to access his powers, taking more energy to do things that most ghost would find easy like intangibilty and invisibility, which is a major problem for him esspecially at first, danny’s only made aware of this though vlads help and their working on a way to trick the hazmat suit into changing material with what danny was wearing under the suit, since its being difficult with changing on dannys command, he can put stuff over and under the suit but the suit itself is hard to make budge.  the outfit shown above is after danny learns how to at least add stuff over it with vlads help.
dan does not have problem’s with the material of his costume making him have access to all dannys abilities easily, along with vlads experience and power and dannys creative thinking dan gets the nickname of the ultimate enemy with good reason
- Loves exploring, esspecially the ghost zone its so interesting and full of enteraining characters and the food is Amazing at least in ghost form and vlad’s show him some pretty incredible places in the zone when they agree to work together in the sense of vlad stealing madde and jacks thermoses at the end of fenton fights and danny helping him spelunk in the ghost zone,  its a guilty pleasure to be able to show sam and tucker around when they become friends, natural portals are a tempation danny has a hard time ignoring when he see’s one, much to his loved ones annoyance.  wolf is a terrible enablr of a friend.
- due to his obession with proving himself (its the wording i go with now i might change it to something like control or being loved) danny tends to want people to like him and seeing a opertunity to get them to like him sorta throws him off balance and out of fight mode, usually leading to him cuddling up to them, in phantom form dannys a great cuddler. take caution though he’s been known to trick enemys into thinking he’s gone out of fight mode and either shove them into the nearest portal/thurmos or later freezing them where they stand.  dannys terrible with crowds, esspecially crowds of people who dont like him he freezeses up.
Danny to-tired-to-function (school and not working with parents danny)
-cant wait to to graduate, with no plans to go to college becouse he’s not paying for more hell
-is really in a bad place socially and mentally in the begining, but will become a lot happier once he befriends sam and tucker, though before that he tends to do some pretty desperate and embarrasing things to get attention and has a problem with letting people drag him into trouble on the promise of friendship.
Danny’s Chore’s list:
-deadly laundry with ectoplasm contaminated laundry machines to content with
-helping whoever wants to cook, cook, or being in charge of dinner most nights unless someone else wants to cook (breakfast is jazz’s job, maddie and jack are gently discouraged from cooking, jazz and danny usually or use to just grab take out for lunch if they had time)
-cleaning the lab
-dishes with ecto contaminated dishwasher are always a little dangerous damn appliances and their wills to reak havoc, jazz likes to help make sure it doesnt hurt anyone since its more dangerous then the laundry machines
-assembling weapons with parents for the vault, or incase of a huge ghost invasion so everyone has a chance at a weapon, danny usually just assembles the less dangerous stuff that doesnt require a lot of welding
-general house maintense, vacuuming and window cleaning while jazz mops and dusts
-jazz cleans the weapons vault after learning dannys secret becouse its a lot less dangerous for her then for him and hes infinitly grateful
AND DONE thats some of my thoughts on what could be done with a re design of the characters and story beats listed, im tired of writing now but enjoyed getting this out

Ch2: Flowers
(prev - next)
"Danny, your clone is adorable," Sam said.
Danny looked away from the plant he was observing and said, "You mean Niel?"
Sam tapped her chin. "Well, Danielle is adorable too. But yes, im talking about Niel, considering he's the one I saw yesterday."
"Oh yeah, you went to Vlad's mansion, right?" Tucker asked from where he was seated among a group of potted plants. "How was he like?"
Sam shrugged. "Like Danny, except peppier, and with a better appreciation for goth culture."
"You turned my clone goth?"
Sam stopped spraying her venus flytrap to point at Danny and say, "Hey, he's his own person, thank you very much."
Tucker leaned back and stared out the greenhouse walls. "I feel left out. How come both of you get to meet this new clone--er, person? I want to see him too..." He trailed off, staring at something in the distance, then pointed out and asked, "Is that him?"
Considering the timing, Danny almost thought Tucker was joking, but then he followed his finger and saw that Niel was, indeed, walking toward Sam's greenhouse. He didn't look very goth in Danny's opinion, although his hair was shaved on one side--but that was more punk than goth. As he got closer, Danny noticed that he was carrying a bundle of yellow flowers in his hand.
Sam went to the greenhouse's entrance and opened the doors to greet him. "So, did you get my adress from the mayor or from Google Earth?" she said.
Niel rubbed his neck nervously. "Did I do something wrong?"
"'Course not, Dracula. Come in." She made way for him, then eyed the flowers and asked, "Are those for me?"
Niel held them out, blushing slightly. "Danny said you like flowers. Uh, completely platonic flowers, of course."
Sam took the flowers from him. "I do like flowers," she confirmed, "though not so much cutting off flower roots and selling their corpses for money."
Niel blinked. "Oh."
Sam have a half-shrug. "It's fine. I'll just give it to my mom, since she loves decorating our house with flower corpses."
"I'll...be sure to get a potted plant next time."
"You better," Sam said. "Meanwhile, I'll go find somewhere to place these dead flowers so they can provide some decoration while they rot away."
Niel looked mortified as she left the greenhouse and went indoors. As soon as she was gone, Tucker burst into laughter.
"Oh man, you should see your face. Nobody is ever prepared for ultra-recyclo-vegan Sam."
Danny watched Niel with a smile as the younger boy glared at Tucker. He nodded at his hair and said, "Nice hairdo."
Niel ran a hand over the shaved part of his head. "It was Sam's idea. Something to make me look different from you." He looked across the various plants in the greenhouse and said, "She really does like plants, doesn't she?"
"You have no idea," Tucker agreed. He gestured across the room and said, "I promise you, every plant in here, Sam named. Like, those two flowers over there--what did she name them again?"
"Hecate and Nyx," Danny supplied. "Or Nyx and Hecate. I don't remember which one's which."
Niel frowned at the twin flowers. "They look the same."
"Yeah, well, Sam has some way to tell them apart," Tucker said. He cupped his mouth with one hand and whispered conspiringly, "If you ask me, I'd say she still has plant-whisperer powers from Undergrowth."
Niel ignored Tucker. He was still scowling at the plants. "Why bother keeping two of the same kind if they're basically the same thing?"
Danny had a sneaking suspicion Niel wasn't just talking about the flowers. Either Sam really trained him to become dark and brooding, or something was troubling the boy.
"Hey," Danny asked, "things okay with your dad?"
Niel shrugged, not tearing his eyes off the plants. "I think so."
"You think?"
"They're good, I think. I mean, yeah. They are." He smiled and added, "I got him to call me by my name."
"Really? That's great," Danny said, and his tone was sincere. He knew how many times Vlad insisted on calling Niel by Danny's name. Yet, for some reason, Niel didn't look as happy as he should have been regarding the news.
Danny was about to ask him what was wrong, but Tucker chose that moment to lean forward and say, "So, are you crushing or Sam, or...?"
Niel spluttered and shouted, "I am not!"
Danny would have felt irritated at Tucker, but he had to admit seeing Niel's face turn as red as Sam's anthuriums was hilarious. Maybe that was what Tucker was going for: lightening the mood a little.
"You're not what?" Sam asked, and the three boys whipped around to see her reentering the greenhouse.
"Nothing," Niel said quickly. He scratched his cheek and turned his attention back to the flowers. "Just appreciating Nyx and Hecate here."
"Hecate and Nyx," Sam corrected.
"Yeah. That." He glanced at his wrist and said, "Um, I guess I should be leaving now."
Sam raised her eyebrows. "You just got here. Don't you want to hang out a bit?"
Danny could tell Niel wanted to, but he shook his head and said, "Dad's pretty strict about my training schedule."
"Training schedule?"
"Yeah. For my ghost powers." His eyes moved to Danny, almost out of reflex. For a long time, the clone had tried to get Danny to join him as his brother, but that was before he started questioning Vlad's integrity. Now, he just kept quiet and looked away.
Sam's lips thinned. "I dont mean to offend you, Niel, but I gotta be real with you. Your dad is kind of a--"
"A horrible villain who wants to take over the world?" Tucker said.
"--a jerk."
Niel crossed his arms, not meeting any of their eyes. "He's the only parent I have. I don't know. I don't know what to feel about him."
"I thought you said things were cool between you last night."
"I did, but..."
"But?"
Niel shook his head. "It's nothing. I better go."
The trio's eyes followed him as he left, but no one tried to stop him.
.
Niel wasn't lying about the training schedule, but the truth was, his training wasn't due for another hour. Rather than return to the mansion, he stopped by an alley on the way.
There was a fast food restaurant nearby, and he bought a takeout burger and brought it with him to a small spot nestled between two buildings. He was disappointed but not surprised when he found it empty. He wasn't sure why he expected otherwise. It would have been dumb of her to stay in one place for long.
"Looking for me?" a familiar voice spoke, and he looked up and saw Danielle Phantom appear in front of him.
"So you did stick around," Niel said.
Dani floated down, stopping before her feet touched the ground so that they were at eye level. "Well, duh. I came to Amity Park because I wanted to see you for myself, and one short conversation this morning wasn't enough for me." Her eyes drifted to the box in his hands, and they sparkled as she pointed and said, "Woah, is that a Nasty Burger?"
Niel handed the burger to her. "I thought travelling around the world homeless might have made you hungry."
"Niel, I know we only just met today, but I think you're starting to become my favorite brother." After accepting the box, she landed on the floor and transformed into human, then she took out the burger and scarfed it down.
Niel watched her with interest. Even though Vlad mentioned her often, he never kept any photo of her. All Niel knew was that she looked like Danny, but younger and female. He guessed that description was true, but it was a bit hard to notice her similarity to Danny from underneath the low wool cap and oversized hoodie she wore--not to mention her incredibly messy long hair.
Niel brought out a small yellow dandelion from his pocket and twirled it in his fingers. Dani paused eating to look at it.
"Didn't you say you were going to give those flowers to Sam?" she asked.
"I did," he replied. "I thought I might keep one to give to you, though, as a sort of welcome gift." He offered her the flower.
Dani eyed it. "I appreciate the gesture, but we're siblings."
"It's a friendship flower! Yellow flowers are for friendship, red flowers are for love."
"I don't know enough about flowers to refute that, so all right." She shrugged and accepted the flower, then after a moment's thought, placed it in her hair. "What do you think?"
"You would have looked cute, if you weren't otherwise so messy."
Dani rolled her eyes. "Pompous rich people," she grumbled, then bit into her burger again, not paying any attention to the grease that ran down her chin.
Niel wrinkled his nose. "Are you sure we're related?"
"Hey, man, ask Vlad."
Niel hesitated. He toyed with his wristwatch and asked, "Was he really that bad to you?"
Dani finished her meal and sucked her fingers. "I thought we established this earlier today. Vlad probably treats you well because you're perfect, but I wasn't so lucky. He just thinks of me as a failed experiment."
"He said your body was unstable, but you seem pretty stable to me."
She chuckled. "I'm not unstable all the time. Trust me, you won't see me looking as pretty as this when I'm emotional."
If her current appearance was pretty, Niel wasn't excited to know how she looked like unstable. Dani observed him for a moment, then said, "I have to say, you really are a nice clone."
"I thought you said I was pompous."
"You are. But you also brought me a burger and a flower instead of taking me to Vlad."
Niel's eyes widened. "Why would I do that?"
"To gain his respect?" She shrugged and said, "That's what I would have done, back when he cared for me. I was almost ready to kill Danny because he told me to. Maybe it's a good thing I turned out to be imperfect and had to leave."
Niel decided to ignore the fact that Dani would have murdered a person and instead said, "You mean you didn't realize it at first?"
"Oh, no. I was stable for like a week before Vlad noticed anything amiss." She saw Niel's troubled expression and quickly added, "It's okay, I'm sure youre safe. You've stayed stable for much longer than I did. You're not a failure."
"I hope not," Niel mumbled, not feeling completely reassured.
Dani gave him a friendly nudge. "Don't worry, you'll be fine. And if you're not, you could always join your super duper awesome sister Dani on her worldly expeditions."
Niel frowned. "By the way, why do you call yourself Danny? Don't you want to go by your own name?"
"Uh-uh," she wagged her finger and said, "I'm Dani, with an I. He's Danny with a Y."
"That has to get confusing sometimes."
"Oh, absolutely. But it's also really funny. Like how there're two Hawkeyes in Marvel comics."
"There's two Hawkeyes?"
Dani gasped dramatically, then placed a hand on his shoulder and said deeply, "Niel, I really need to get you into comics."
Niel slowly moved Dani's hand away. "Okay...but I still find it weird that you want to be called Dani. Why not Elle? or Ellie?"
Dani tapped her chin and said, "You could call me that, if you like. Ellie does sound pretty cute."
"Cool, then. Ellie it is."
Ellie didn't seem to mind his new nickname for her. She wiped her mouth with a sleeve and looked at Niel's watch. "I guess I better leave. If Vlad's treating you like he used to treat me, then you probably have to do some ghost training in a few."
Niel looked down at his wrist. Had time really passed that quickly? "Yeah, you're right. Um...I'd say say you later, but..."
Ellie shrugged. "Why not? No harm in sticking around in Amity Park for a while longer, right?" She jabbed a finger at Niel and added, "Just make sure Vlad doesn't try to capture me or anything. Also, feel free to buy me food whenever we meet."
"I'll keep that in mind," Niel promised.
Niel turned away and began walking home. He glanced over his shoulder to where Ellie had been, but she was gone, probably off to do...whatever it was she did on her own.
