Philosophical Questions Day 1
"How is love different from passion or sexual desire?"
Love isn't just being enthralled by someone. It isn't just the urge to touch them. Love is absolutely not lust. Love can entail all of these things. These can be done while loving, but it isn't love.
Love is intimacy; it's how you can feel comfortable with someone through being there with them. You love someone because you can be with them in a closeness. Not even physically. Closeness as in your personalities; your souls if you will. You can feel connected with someone so much so that it's love.
Love is also trust. You can trust the person you love to be with you in life. You can trust the person you love to make you feel good whenever you are with them. You trust the person you love to understand your flaws and to accept who you are.
Love is to care. When you love someone you would never want to see them in pain. You'd want to cheer them up, give them gifts, or hugs, or compliments, or your time, or you can do things for them. You show you care because you love someone.
Love isn't passion. Love isn't even romance. Love is who you are with the people you care about.

Would Socrates Have Used Social Media? A Thought Experiment.
Tumblr media
Imagining that it's 2025, Socrates, in the modern-day café, has opened his laptop. He just got greeted on Instagram with "You have 1 new follower!" and looks intrigued. Probably not the type to run away from the prospect of easily exploring the "new" digital world, or for that matter, a seeker of wisdom using the Socratic method of questioning everything. But would Socrates-the ultimate skeptic and conversationalist-actually use social media? Let's enter this thought experiment.
First poking at the obvious, Socrates was not the type who cared much for writing anyway. In fact, it is famously said that there exists no authentic record of his own writings. Whatever we know of him comes down to the hearsay of his pupils, notably Plato. Socrates was all about intellectual dialogue face to face-the debates in public lugares; challenging assumptions; dissecting thoroughly even the unlovable and uncomfortable thoughts. Would he engage in Twitter threads, Facebook debates, or TikTok rants? Well, that would be far-fetched.
The Socratic Method: Online Style
Essentially, the Socratic method involves asking questions that invite people to challenge ideas and to think again. So, it sounds very similar to online debates, does it not? After all, social media is an arena where everyone can give their opinion—and sometimes, those opinions might need a little poke and prod. Picture Socrates diving into Twitter discussions, replying to tweets with the simple yet certain rebuttal, "But why?" That would surely lead to some terribly amusing yet slightly cumbersome exchanges. Nevertheless, Socrates wouldn't be there to earn likes or retweets. He'd be there to get to the truth even if that meant grinding the nerves of everyone involved.
It isn't hard to imagine how much trouble for Socrates it would be to portray an Agitator in the online space to inspire critical thinking among users. For a social media platform, one is given an opportunity to share their views, close, say the Agora (the marketplace) in Ancient Athens. Socrates would in all probability make those platforms as an arena to question people's presuppositions or assume things. Things like, "What is the real worth of a 'like?'" or "What does it mean to be really heard with a tweet of 280 characters?" It would take an endlessly flowing challenge to the received wisdom, with the assurance that Socrates had a huge number of followers on social media because let us be true, his philosophy spells intrigue.
The Problems With Social Media That Socrates Would Have Hated
But Socrates would certainly never ignore any problem with social media. Seeing how many times online discussions reduce to three-second arguments or how misinformation spreads like wildfire, he would probably have spent a great deal of time shaking his head in disappointment. He had really believed in the quality of discourse. For him, seeing people argue in sound bites or tweet memes highlighting ever flimsy details of a complex issue would, in all regards, make him cringe. Remember, Socrates was all for refining ideas and actually trying to reach proper understanding and not just to score a wing for an argument or chase followers.
Besides that, Socrates probably wouldn't have appreciated social media's obsession with self-promotion. He would have turned to a scroll of curated Instagram posts, each showing candidates at their Pops-the-Root Beer moment and asked, "Is this really living?" He might have thought that the constant scramble for likes and followers alludes to the more serious pursuit of wisdom.
Had He Been Living, Would He Have Been On Facebook?
Here's another interesting thought: Would Socrates have been on Facebook? He certainly had an affinity for conversation - perhaps he could have joined a few philosophical groups to get the dialogue going. But knowing how rapidly Facebook can swoosh into cat videos, rants about political parties, and unsolicited opinions on pineapple pizzas, Socrates may likely have been out of there before long. He would probably value spaces that allow for a deep exploration of ideas, rather than mere soundbites shared with a click of a button.
Conclusion: Socrates will throw himself amidst the noise of the digital world.
The real reason, you say? Not really to care about any followers or content going viral. His social media would have been a podium for questioning thought, challenging, and search for the truth; in a word, a philosophic-style podcast with plenty of trolling bait. Like everything else, he would have approached it with caution-scrutinizing the usefulness of this instrument and never allowing himself to get twisted and turned by any of the bull it would have undoubtedly presented.
In the end, it is less about whether or not Socrates would have engaged with social media and more about whether we would engage with these social sites as avenues of real conversation, rather than simply seeking the next hit of dopamine in our feeds. Long live Socrates, who probably would just ask us to log off every once or twice, look around, and go, "Is this the best way to spend our time?"

Exploring Life's Big Questions With Journal Prompts
Hey there! Have you ever felt like there's more to life than what we see on the surface? I definitely have. That’s why I think it's so important to dive into those deep, philosophical questions that make us ponder the meaning of it all. Using journal prompts to guide these thoughts can be super helpful. Let me share why I feel it's a game changer for our personal growth.
Diving Deeper Into Life's Mysteries
Every now and then, I find myself staring at the ceiling, wondering about the big 'whys and whats' of life. Why are we here? What's our purpose? These thoughts can be overwhelming, but they’re also intriguing. Philosophical questions help us explore our beliefs, values, and the world around us. They push us to think beyond the mundane and challenge our perspectives.
By contemplating these questions, we’re not just questioning the universe; we’re also learning more about ourselves. This self-reflection can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of our own minds. It's like peeling layers off an onion, discovering new insights at every layer.
The Power of Journal Prompts
Okay, so here’s where journal prompts come into play. Have you ever sat down to write about something profound and found yourself drawing a complete blank? I’ve been there way too many times. Journal prompts are like a guiding hand, helping us focus our scattered thoughts.
With a well-thought-out prompt, you get that initial push you need to start exploring. For example, a prompt like, "What does happiness mean to you?" can open up a floodgate of thoughts and emotions. It's a gentle nudge that leads you to uncover deeper truths you might not have considered otherwise.
My Own Journey With Journal Prompts
I remember the first time I used a journal prompt to tackle a big question. I was struggling with the idea of success and what it meant to me. I found a prompt that asked, "How do you define success beyond material wealth?" It was like a lightbulb moment for me.
As I poured my thoughts onto paper, I realized that success, to me, meant more about personal satisfaction and less about external validation. That simple prompt helped me reshape my goals and aspirations, aligning them more closely with my true values. And hey, it felt pretty therapeutic too! Writing can be such a great way to process thoughts that otherwise just spin around in our heads.
So, the next time you find yourself grappling with a profound question, grab a journal and look for a prompt that resonates with you. Who knows what insights you might uncover!

🌞 What If The Sun Would Move Around The Earth? 🌍
Imagine a world where the Sun, the center of our solar system, orbited around the Earth. It's a fascinating concept that defies the laws of physics as we know them today. In this speculative journey, we'll explore the implications of such a scenario, from the dramatic changes in our daily lives to the scientific and philosophical questions it raises.
The Earth-Centric Solar System:
🌎 In this hypothetical scenario, Earth would become the gravitational center, and the Sun would revolve around it. 🔄 Days and nights would be dramatically altered as the Sun's orbit changed our exposure to its light and heat. 📅 Our calendars and timekeeping systems would need a significant overhaul to accommodate the changing solar movements.
Climate and Weather:
🌡️ Temperature variations would be extreme, with areas previously in the Sun's path experiencing scorching heat, while those in shadow would plunge into bitter cold. 🌪️ Weather patterns and atmospheric circulation would be greatly disrupted, leading to unpredictable and potentially severe storms. 💧 Changes in ocean currents would impact marine life and global climate systems.
Agriculture and Farming:
🌱 Agriculture would face substantial challenges, with the irregular sunlight affecting crop growth and seasons. 💡 Innovative farming methods and technologies would be necessary to adapt to the changing solar conditions. 🌾 Crop rotation and selection would need to be reimagined to optimize harvests.
Human Adaptation:
🚀 Space exploration and colonization would likely be very different, with Earth as the central hub for space travel. 🛰️ Satellites and space stations would require frequent adjustments to their orbits to stay within the Sun's path. 🏙️ City planning and architecture would evolve to cope with varying sunlight and temperature conditions.
Scientific and Philosophical Questions:
🔬 Our understanding of the cosmos and the laws of physics would be profoundly challenged. ❓ Would our scientific discoveries and theories be completely different in this alternate reality? 🧐 Philosophers and thinkers would grapple with new existential questions about our place in the universe.
Religious and Cultural Impact:
⛪ Many religious beliefs and creation myths are tied to the Sun's position as the central celestial body. 🕊️ A shift in the Earth-Sun relationship would require significant reinterpretations of these beliefs. 🌄 Cultural celebrations and rituals tied to solar events like solstices and equinoxes would evolve or disappear.
Energy Sources:
⚡ Energy production and distribution would undergo significant changes as solar power availability varied across regions. 🔋 Alternative energy sources like wind, hydro, and nuclear power might become more critical. 🏭 The energy sector would need to innovate to adapt to this new energy landscape.
Environmental Consequences:
🌿 Ecosystems and wildlife would adapt to the shifting climate zones, leading to changes in migration patterns and species distributions. 🏞️ Conservation efforts would need to be reevaluated to address the evolving environmental challenges. 🌊 Sea levels could experience fluctuations as a result of changes in temperature and ice melting.
Conclusion: While the idea of the Sun orbiting the Earth is an intriguing thought experiment, it fundamentally contradicts our current understanding of the universe's laws. The Sun's central role in our solar system is a cornerstone of modern astronomy and physics. Still, exploring such scenarios can deepen our appreciation for the delicate balance that allows life to thrive on our planet.

Ch 25: The Attack Verse 2
Noah entered the makeshift operating room in the council building, their heart racing with adrenaline. They had been trained for this, but it had been a long time since they had performed surgery under such chaotic circumstances.
As they began to assess the injured council members, they couldn't help but think about the philosophical arguments that had been consuming them lately. Was it their duty as a doctor to heal anyone who needed it, regardless of their actions or beliefs? Or did they have a responsibility to prioritize those who were working towards the greater good?
But in this moment, he pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. They washed his hands and donned his surgical gloves, his movements precise and calculated.
One of the council members, a man with a bullet wound in his shoulder, groaned in pain as Noah approached him. "Don't worry," Noah said, trying to calm him. "I'm going to take care of you."
As Noah worked, their mind couldn't help but drift to the events that had led them here. They had always believed in using technology to improve the human condition, but the apocalypse had forced them to confront the limitations of that belief. They had seen firsthand the ways in which technology could be used to harm, rather than heal.
But in this moment, they was doing what they could to heal those who needed it. As they worked, they hummed softly under their breath, letting the rhythm of the music guide their movements.
Hours passed as Noah operated on the injured council members, repairing broken bones, stitching up wounds, and doing everything in their power to prevent brain death while the nanites crudely knit together wounds. When they were finally finished, they stepped back, their hands shaking with exhaustion.
They looked at the people they had just operated on, wondering what their future held. Would they learn from this experience and work towards a better world? Or would they return to their old ways, using their power to harm rather than help?
Noah didn't know the answer. All they could do was hope that their actions had made a difference, however small. They began to pack up his medical supplies, ready to return to the survivors' settlement and continue his work, whatever that may be.

Common Philosophy
How does a snake know of flying? How does an eagle know of crawling? If they’ve spent their entire life among their companionsDiscussing philosophy, discovery, with like-minded individuals? How do we use our minds to improve society if these same minds have dragged society to the rubbles that it currently lays in? This piece is from a poem that I’m considering releasing as a part of a poetry…

Philosophical Question Day 5
"Where is the line between art and not art"
I've seen a trend of AI taking over everything. It takes over jobs, machines, and thinking. But recently, (but also for a little while), AI has been taking over art. People hate that AI is taking over art and that's very understandable. People also seem to argue about what is art and what isn't. That's not including AI.
The line between art and not art is simply passion. It's the human heart. Anything can be art, so long as it's made by a human. The Oxford Dictionary defines art as being "The expression or application of creative skill and imagination..." Then goes on to list types of art. What makes AI not art, is the fact that AI cannot have an imagination. It cannot express itself. That's what's so beautiful and artistic about the human mind. It has a passion and a need for expression. To be oneself.
Another topic of this question is, is modern art, art? I've seen many instances where people were angry that art was simply a blue square on a painting. But I think otherwise. Sometimes art is not what's immediately seen. Sometimes art is only for the one who made it. But it's still art. You see a blue square? The artist saw something greater. If you asked that artist why they painted what they did, they'd probably tell you something amazing. At least I'd think so.
Is bad art not art? No. Bad art is absolutely art. The artists expressed themselves in a way no one else had. Because that's their expression. That's their mind and that's what makes it unique. Art is art, whether people like it or not. Whether it is perceived as good. (What is good art anyway? Is it what you like? What about what the artist likes?) It is one's imagination. It is one's expression.
The only thing that isn't art is one without expression and imagination. But the only way that's possible is if that art was purely a machine.

This is one of the greatest quote I have read, because it's something that really resonate with me. ----- Gaius Julius Caesar was a Roman general and statesman. A member of the First Triumvirate, Caesar led the Roman armies in the Gallic Wars before defeating Pompey in a civil war and governing the Roman Republic as a dictator from 49 BC until his assassination in 44 BC.
