I finished the game and then remembered... the DLC exists sigh (jk i do like it, its just. i can't stop without doing the whole thing!!)

Haven't seen anyone breaking down this article yet so here's the sparknotes:

After the opening main mission, the MC is sent to find a missing Aedyran expedition team

Companions will chime in with banter during exploration

Interactable environments are a thing; the author could blow up walls to find new paths

Companion commands will be accessed through a radial wheel

Mage is apparently "the most difficult class to use"

Can switch between two weapon sets

NPCs: Caedmon, a member of the expedition you have to rescue, and Sargamis, a "gold-skinned deity-like creature" that acts as a quest giver. Might be a godlike.

Say what you will, but based on this notebook I feel that with the right make up, Pedro Pascal could easily pass for Edgar Allan Poe in a Biopic.

Still ill, still recovering from burnout, still recovering from two deaths close to me (one upsetting, and one much less so), focusing what little creative energy I have on making booklets and scrappy zines.

We still get junk mail addressed to my late abusive uncle. I’ve been taking it and making it into other things. This one is full of Harley Poe lyrics that either just stick in my brain, or that feel apt for my thoughts on the whole... situation.

a couple more pages of my pillars of eternity journal, finally getting into the part of the game i didn't reach on my first (unfinished) playthrough!

sometimes when i'm spending too much time in my head, i question why i keep writing at all. why i keep coming back to it, even though it made me literally sick. to the point that i had to stop completely because it was another way to punish myself, another way to feed my demons who were screaming that i was not enough.

and naturally, when people asked me who i wrote for, i used to say that i wrote for myself, because you'd sound pretentious if you didn't. but truth be told, i lived for the thrill of watching the zero turn into a small number, and then a medium number, and eventually a big number. i was always chasing the high of that big number. me, who notoriously hates numbers!

so now i'm gonna come clean and say that yes, i write for you and i write for validation. but i found another thrill, the one you get when you realize that you created something new, something that would not exist if you weren't so stubborn to keep picking up the pen anyway.
