I have. I’ve been thinking……. about the deities in specific.. and I still need to figure out how to translate my thoughts truly of Illumina Darkheart and firebrand into words but I have basically my thoughts for the OTHER FOUR…….. smiles so big and wide

I was gonna give this over when I had all 7 done but I was suddenly struck by another au of mine and it’s also 11 pm so I mNOT writing down stuff about them tonight :P

ok anyways I hope these guys suffice anyways……. I had a lot of thoughts on Ghostwalker specifically

all of this is copy-pasted from my notes app so it might not be very able to be read well cause I don’t at all think when I put words in that thing

-The deities have more of an impact than they do in canon, and are much more… powerful? Might be something. They’re different is what im saying (gonna rephrase this a little cause this is just copy-pasted, they have different capabilities than in canon and are moreso meant to seem like actual gods cause i feel like imho some of them don’t come off like that in the canon half the time…… as much as i love Venomshank………)

-Ghostwalker is the biggest example: He’s still the grim reaper, but he’s also basically death itself. Like i think the grim reaper and death are two different things, grim reaper just works UNDER death. Ghostwalker IS death. He’s the reason it exists and he’s the reason it remains. He’s able to command any non-inphernal crows, which act as his eyes and mini grim reapers when he can’t go collect souls himself. Basically just playing on the idea that crows symbolize death or misfortune, also the crow rhyme can be integrated with Ghostwalker keeping numbers of how many crows he has where or smth idk. Funny crow grim reaper guy :)

-Venomshank is similar to Ghostwalker, just not to his degree. They’re kind of like partners in crime, sort of like 2 of the horsemen of the apocalypse. While Ghostwalker is death, Venomshank is pestilence. He already is in the canon, but it’s to a much larger degree here. He’s one of the starting points of illness, and he’s easily able to use that to his advantage. He just doesn’t, he’s too nice. Crows also listen to him, just not to Ghost’s level. He can’t control them, nor does he want to. He treats them well and is like the cool uncle to them. He’s also a hopeless gossip, he knows everything that goes on wherever the crows lie and he tells them stuff about his sights too, because even they can’t know everything. He does still have the bite thing, it’s an issue with his saliva. It’s also in his blood! He’d be a zombie if he wasn’t a deity. (Because of this also Sword’s bite is a little poisonous, like he can make someone sick if he bites em and breaks skin but he also would never do that)

-Continuing with the horsemen of the apocalypse connections, Icedagger would be famine. This might seem like an odd choice, yea. To an extent, there is with the other 3 deities right over there (Darkheart included), but I have reasoning!!!! To start off, Icedagger is, of course, the snow guy. He watches over Blackrock, and he’s generally just known as the snow guy. In this AU, I have blended together both the current noncanon personality of Icedagger (the childish one) and my own interpretation of Icedagger, so he’s more formally cold and distant, with a rather odd view about mortals, but he’s still just a kid with the rest of the swords. He’s basically famine in this AU both because winter is like… the famine season, plus Icedagger’s own abilities would probably land him as something greater to the inphernals. Winter is a rough season for them all, even the more better-off. Winter brings wing sicknesses, sickness in general, territory disputes, generally a lot of icky stuff. So it would make sense in my little brain to have Icedagger be known to the inphernals as an uncaring, cold guy who would bring famines on an entire faction if they pissed him off enough. And he does his best to fit that mold.

-Last of the horsemen things, Windforce is honestly pretty obviously war. She’s mostly unchanged in this AU, still the tyrant she is, but she has a much stronger grasp on Playground as a whole. She’s around more than any other sword with the exception of Venomshank, and she’s one of the leaders of Playground. She’s as territorial as they get tbh, she will defend her faction if that’s what she has to do, and she’s not afraid to throw hands. Generally just the same in the AU though.

hopefully I can get at least…. semi-coherent thoughts about the other three one day or smth……… also gotta get more coherent thoughts about these four cause reading over it again some of it does NOT make as much sense as it did when I wrote it….... uhhhhh yeah I need to. sleep thumbs up emoji

First of all, I really like the choices you've made. Don't get me wrong: Firebrand, Illumina and Darkheart are cool too, but they don't really fit any of those roles, do they? In my eyes at least, the horsemen are like death: neither good nor evil, or a perfect blend of both. And besides Illumina, they seem to kinda heavily lean towards one side or the other. Sorry for the yap sesh!

Speaking of roles, did you know that sometimes in depictions of the H.O.T.A, pestilence is replaced with conquest? Solar Grove Introduces a Personal DRM Receiver

The Digital Radio Mondiale consortium is welcoming the announcement of a small and affordable radio receiver model that will be made in India.

It will be manufactured by a local affiliate of Solar Grove Solutions, a U.S.-based company that makes accessible devices.

Model N88 is a medium-wave, shortwave and VHF Band II/FM receiver with analog and DRM reception. It runs on three AA batteries and is expected to be available for purchase in Q4 of this year. Pricing has not yet been announced.

“This is a significant step towards delivering cutting-edge technology at accessible prices to a global audience,” wrote DRM Consortium Chair Ruxandra Obreja.

The N88 was developed in collaboration with CML Microcircuits and Alongside Tech, which is providing design and application development. The latter company recently joined the DRM consortium.

The organizations highlighted the receiver for its small size, low power consumption and integration with an Android app.

Renatus Pinto of Shemish Grove Solutions India, the receiver’s manufacturer, was quoted in the announcement, “We believe this unique DRM radio will revolutionize the way people experience radio, offering a unique blend of traditional analog reception and the advanced capabilities of DRM.”

Although the receiver is intended for global markets, the fact that it will be made in India is notable, as the country is an important potential growth market for DRM. The consortium maintains a web page devoted to the use of DRM in the country. All India Radio uses the DRM standard in the AM bands there. The national government has not announced a decision about the digitization of the FM band.

NASA fires chief scientist, more Trump cuts to come

March 12, 2025

NASA announced Tuesday the dismissal of its chief scientist and others to comply with orders from President Donald Trump, marking the latest in a series of administration actions undermining climate change research.

While the move affects only 23 people, a spokeswoman indicated more cuts are coming.

The first round notably eliminates the Office of the Chief Scientist, led by Katherine Calvin, a renowned climatologist who contributed to key UN climate reports. She and other US delegates were also barred from attending a major climate science meeting in China last month.

"To optimize our workforce, and in compliance with an Executive Order, NASA is beginning its phased approach to a reduction in force, known as a RIF," agency spokeswoman Cheryl Warner said.

"A small number of individuals received notification March 10 they are a part of NASA's RIF. If they're eligible, those employees may opt to participate in the Voluntary Early Retirement Authority, or VERA, or complete the RIF process."

Also eliminated are the Office of Technology, Policy, and Strategy and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Branch of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

NASA has so far avoided the deep cuts affecting other agencies, reportedly due to last minute intervention by Jared Isaacman, Trump's nominee for NASA chief. Isaacman, an e-payments billionaire and SpaceX customer, is seen as close to Elon Musk—Trump's key advisor and architect of federal cost-cutting efforts.

In February, NASA had been preparing to lay off around a thousand probationary employees. However, Isaacman reportedly asked for the cuts to be put on hold, according to Ars Technica. NASA has not explained the reversal.

The new layoffs, first reported by NASA Watch citing an internal memo, could signal a shift away from research and toward exploration.

Trump and Musk both support a human mission to Mars. In his State of the Union address last week, Trump declared the US would "plant the American flag on the planet Mars and even far beyond."

NASA plays a crucial role in climate research, operating a fleet of Earth-monitoring satellites, conducting airborne and ground-based studies, developing sophisticated climate models, and providing open-source data to researchers and the public.

Trump, who has called climate change a "scam" and expressed disdain for the UN and climate science, has already pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement for a second time.

Meanwhile, his administration has dismissed hundreds of employees at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the nation's other key climate agency, with more cuts expected.
