Peace of Mind in Print: A Review of The Home Doctor
Living in a remote area, far from a hospital, has always made me prioritize self-reliance, especially when it comes to healthcare. That's why I decided to invest in "The Home Doctor" – a comprehensive medical guide specifically designed for home use. After a few months of browsing its pages and familiarizing myself with its contents, I can confidently say it's become a valuable addition to my household preparedness kit.

Empowering Knowledge for Everyday Ailments
"The Home Doctor" isn't a replacement for professional medical care. It is, however, a fantastic resource for handling common ailments and injuries at home. The book covers a wide range of topics, from treating cuts and scrapes to managing headaches, fevers, and even allergies. The clear instructions and illustrations make it easy to understand even complex medical procedures, giving me the confidence to handle minor emergencies until professional help arrives.
Beyond Band-Aids: Preparing for the Unexpected
What truly impressed me was the book's focus on preparedness for unforeseen circumstances. "The Home Doctor" includes sections on dealing with natural disasters, power outages, and even biological threats. It provides practical advice on creating a first-aid kit, stocking essential supplies, and even performing basic medical procedures in the absence of a doctor. This knowledge empowers me to feel more prepared for whatever situation may arise.
A User-Friendly Format for Easy Reference
The printed format of "The Home Doctor" is a major plus for me. Unlike online resources that require internet access, this book is always available, even during power outages. The clear layout, logical organization, and comprehensive index make it easy to find the information I need quickly, especially during stressful situations.
Focus on Natural Remedies and Self-Care
While "The Home Doctor" doesn't shy away from conventional medicine, it also emphasizes the importance of natural remedies and preventative self-care. The book includes information on using herbs, essential oils, and other natural remedies for various ailments. This holistic approach aligns perfectly with my belief in natural health practices.
Investing in Peace of Mind
"The Home Doctor" is more than just a medical guide; it's an investment in peace of mind. Knowing that I have access to this wealth of information allows me to feel more prepared and in control of my family's health, especially in situations where immediate medical attention might not be readily available.
Overall, "The Home Doctor" is a valuable resource for anyone looking to be more proactive about their health and well-being. It's a comprehensive guide that empowers you with knowledge and practical skills, all in a user-friendly format.

Hi! I’ve been a huge fan of your fic, Frequency since I started reading it last year, and even after it’s reached it’s conclusion. One of my friends has recently gotten into bookbinding, and they’ve offered to bind a fanfiction for me, which would be a wholly personal copy.
Even though there’s no selling or money exchange involved, I know fanbinding can be tricky, and isn’t something that should be done without the author’s permission. Which is why I wanted to ask if my friend can bind a personal copy of Frequency for me. If the answer is no, I totally understand, and it’s why I wanted to ask in the first place!
Tumblr media
hi!! sorry its taken me a while to answer these asks!
tbh in an ideal world i would love to do a print run of Frequency so that it could include better formatted footnotes/comic references with artwork included in each chapter and shoutouts/acknowledgements and cover art yada yada yada but i don't know if there's a way i could do it without either spending a whole bunch of money or getting a cease and desist. idk exactly how to thread that needle but i might look into it at some point if enough ppl wanted print copies
anyway to actually answer ur questions i think personal copies would probably be fine! just so long as they're not being sold etc. and thanks for asking btw i really appreciate it!

HI question for formatting (in MS word but i'll take any advice tbh):
i need to add a gutter to my manuscript.
however, due to the fact my manuscript is broken up into sections (to accommodate the "different first page" setting to not have page numbers show up on the first page of every chapter), the gutter placement does not alternate consistently across the document.
e.g. on the first page, the gutter will be on the left. technically, the gutter on page two should be on the right. but since page two is a different section from page one, the gutter placement resets and appears on the left again.
short of manually formatting each page (actual hell), is there any way to apply consistent alternating gutter placement throughout the entire document?

i read this book back in like 2019 and i liked it so much i wanted my own copy and then found out it was out of print, despite having been published in 2015, AND there was an article from 2018 saying they were making a movie adaptation of it?????

I've ranted a whole lot about the importance of physical media in the past. I love physical media. I have a CD and vinyl collection of stuff from my favorite bands, and am currently getting back into reading and found I vastly prefer physical books over both ebooks and audiobooks. I got the entire DVD box of ATLA last year just so that I can watch it whenever I like.
But it took me until today to realize that the reason why is because of how badly all these digital streaming service-platforms have affected me.
Like, I found art from a webcomic a while ago that I thought looked really interesting, but have been putting off reading the thing for MONTHS. I couldn't quite put my finger on why until I found out yesterday that there are printed, physical copies for sale of the entire webcomic itself in book format. And despite absolutely insane shipping costs, I could at some point buy it, and keep it.
And now I finally started reading it, and I'm loving it.
Turns out, I would rather put myself through sickening, nauseating FOMO than risk the piece of media getting taken off the platform it's available on in the middle of me reading/watching it.
What the fuck.

I'm helping put on a queer pride zine workshop next week, and I'm looking for traditional letter-paper cut-and-fold zines to show to people who are new to the scene. Do you have any sources for radical/queer street zines that you love? Maybe one you've made yourself? Put it in the notes! I want to share the creativity of the community as inspiration for new work.

I have, in an attempt to figure out how printing works, decided to print and bind the first 2 chapters of my comic <:-)!!
Came out to be 18 pages (including front/back) and 5.5x7.5 inches. Not bad for hastily putting it together...!
So strange (but good!) to have my own creation in my hands. I hope to take a crack at it again once my current story-line is complete. Have the full "book," you know?

I don’t care about romance except for what Suhail “the rumors of us not being kin or married and traveling together, I couldn’t do that to you” ibn Ramiz ibn Khalis al-Aritati and Isabella “let’s get married about it then” Camherst have going on
