Author's Note: So, you're here either cause you're just reading everything, or you prefer Night Lords. Either way, I hope you enjoy. The damn android tumblr app posted this accidentally again, and i suppose it helped me get up off my ass and finish it. I'm not happy with it, but I just need to finish this and move on with my life XD

Summary: A Night Lord becomes interested in you while you stand under the eyes of your Salamander guardian, and you find yourself stuck between two titans.

You look to Lev.

He’s right; Ralkan’s protection has been little more than smothering. You find yourself now with less freedoms than you'd arrived on the Flamewrought with, confined within your own quarters out of fear of imaginary threats.

Perhaps Lev wasn't imaginary, but the lengths at with Ralkan has gone in which to cage you from him has gone to places you would consider extreme, despite the fact that the Night Lord has done nothing at all.

If anything, the one time you truly needed help, when you were being cornered by astartes, Lev was the one that was there, not him.

But you don't want Ralkan to die; He's been overbearing and suffocating but for Lev to think he needs to be killed is madness.

You wouldn't want any bloodshed if you had anything to do with it, though with astartes, that outcome will always end up being inevitable. It's in their nature, after all.

You suppose that's what Ralkan warned you about. He told you what Lev was like, what his legion was, and you didn't listen. Perhaps this is the consequences of that.

"Wait, Ralkan, d-"

You call to the Salamander who's attention waivers in your direction, allowing Lev to sneak in a solid strike to the man's jaw. He's quick to steady himself, and returns Lev's attack in force- nearly sending the Night Lord to his knee.

You quickly attempt to back out of the way as Lev is pushed towards you, as much as Ralkan tries to grapple him out of the room and away from you. When he manages to do so, gripping the shoulder of his armor and throwing him- the Night Lord stops his own momentum by gripping the frame of the door, Ralkan goes on the offensive and pushes him farther away and out of the doorframe fully.

The only downside to Ralkan's size is how much slower he is that the more lithe, agile Night Lord, who can easily dodge his blows. You try to stay as far away as you can but Throne, you want them to both stop.

"Lev! Stop!"

He doesn't pay any attention to you, too consumed by tormenting the Salamander and keeping out of his massive grip. The two fight so fast you can barely keep track, and the late hour on the Flamewrought means that there isn't someone in radius for you to try and get help from.

You could try and run for it, hoping that they won't kill one another before you get one of Ralkan's brothers.

But if you do get one of his brothers... They'll kill Lev. Without hesitation. He's attacking one of their brothers, one of their captains; His fate is sealed if you do that.

You stop running, realizing what would happen. When you turn to see them as you try and rethink your options, you realize they've moved out of sight. You hear the clashing of armor and blades, the higher pitched sounds of a knife. You hear metal clank and warp, over and over as you try to rush towards it- But it stops.

The hall becomes deathly silent other than the sound of one pair of footsteps, heavily armored.

You don't get a chance to round the corner and look for Ralkan before Lev blocks it, coming towards you. You instinctively take one backstep.

There's no one around, the ship feels so dark and cold. He approaches you; You can see the clouds of his breath as he pants.

"Lev?"

He moves closer coming in like an encroaching shadow, before reaching his hands up towards you. For a second you tense in the fear he's going for your neck, but he doesn't. His hands cradle your face. You can feel the blood that sticks to them, sticking to your skin and running down your neck.

“My little one, do you like finally being out of your cage?”

He has blood dripping down his nose, but by the time it reaches past his lips, it’s already beginning to coagulate.

“What, what did you do?”

You don't want to leave; The Salamanders have kept you safe and fed, Ralkan kept you safe and fed. Lev is a complete unknown and the thought of him having you to himself terrifies you no matter how kind he's been to you as of yet.

But Ralkan isn't coming.

"You don't belong to him anymore."

You didn't think you belonged to him to begin with, is Lev seeing something you aren't? Or is it something that's just not there at all, that the insanity of their genefather is making him see?

Ralkan warned you that Night Lords are prone to it.

The madness of the 8th. They loose what little sanity they have, and nothing around them is safe.

Lev grabs you by the ribcage and hauls you into his arms, and the yell In your throat is taken from your lungs much like the rest of your air. The Flamewrought blurs through your vision as a maze of corridors and hidden nooks, before you're soon entrenched in complete and total darkness.

Lev's lips smash against yours, teeth biting and catching your skin. He’s always nippy, like some sort of untrained hound. In a secret thought you suppose he is, in a way.

His body is so much larger than yours it’s so easy for him to cage you in, trapping you against he shoddy metal structure that serves as his cot. You feel his hand trailing up your thigh, pushing the fabric of your clothes up and moving-

“Lev!”

The door to his quarters slams open, and Lev instinctively goes to reach for his bolter. He stops however, when realizing it's one of his brothers.

“We’ve tried getting you by vox for thirty minutes.” His brother looks right at your barely clothed form and grunts. You're still trying to learn Nostroman, the words are quick and rough, but you're slowing beginning to catch enough that sentences eventually pull together in a way where you can understand the core meaning of them. Most of the time.

“Quit playing around. You’re needed planet side.” He nods in your general direction. “And bring your toy with. She worked the last time. Captain doesn’t want to deal with the commissars himself again.”

You always work well whenever they need to speak with mortals. You’re easier on the eyes, more convincing. They throw you at baselines and try to have you do work far more suited for a diplomat than a remembrancer, though you suppose they don't care about the difference.

You're a baseline. Do it.

But Lev hates it. They look at you like you’re nothing more than meat, some fruit ripe for the taking. Whenever you return from these sorts of things Lev is oftentimes even more possessive than he usually is, muttering about how you’re far more than talking to pitiful little baselines, to him.

It’s his job to protect you from all of them.

From the moment you first asked if he was ok, he knew you were something special.

His battle brother kicks something, and grumbles in Nostroman as he leaves the room.

"Are we leaving now?"

You look up at him, his hair falling forward to frame his face slightly. He doesn't answer, and merely decides to lean down and continue wounding your neck with bites as your nails scratch his skin.

"He wasn't even armored. It will take him 30 minutes at least." You whimper as his teeth catch your skin again.

"It'll take you 30 minutes as well,"

You breathlessly say as your feel his hand barge it's way between your thighs once more. Lev looks down at you.

"Watch your tongue. Your attitude overstays it's welcome."

Lev likes when you have a bit of an attitude sometimes, talk back, but only when he doesn't have to fight it. When it irritates him, he expects you to quiet down- let him toy with you.

His fingers tip into your core and you whimper at the sudden stretch, legs spreading as if trying to ease it and accommodate his large hand. He eats up the way you whimper, mouth against the corner of yours, attempting to cram a second finger inside of you shortly thereafter and push them both even deeper.

The shaky whimper you let makes him let out a breathy chuckle, the gritting of your teeth from both pleasure and pain. You wish he'd be less rough, but you've heard things from him; About how much rougher he could be.

It's apparently not common for baselines to survive this long under the ownership of a singular Night Lord. Lev's squad jokes that you are pampered because of it.

Lev snaps at them for it, but are you? Is your mountain of blankets and little light in the darkness of his quarters considered a luxury among the few humans aboard this ship?

"Lev..."

You whimper, feeling him finally manage to seat both of his fingers entirely inside you. They scissor and curl deep within you stretching you, making him smile as your writhe on his hand.

When he pulls his fingers from you, it's impossible not to whine, though it gets cut off when he grips you by the hips and suddenly pulls and flips you onto your stomach.

It's easier for him to have you this way, with how wide his body is in comparison to yours. But the lack of sight makes you jolt as you feel his cock press against your thighs, and you can't help but arch your back trying to present yourself to him better.

The Nightfall is always pitch black, and it terrifies you. It's the main reason you've never tried to break from his quarters; This is what is outside of it. There's no options anymore.

"Can you help me?"

You say, reaching a hand out to him. You can't see in this dark, but he can. Your words make him smile.

Lev grabs your hand and wraps his fingers tightly around it, and begins guiding you in the pitch black.

Hey! I wanna talk for a sec about the Live Music Archive. If you're a tMG fan who's on here you probably already at least know about it, but for anyone unfamiliar I want to do a quick post talking about what it is and how you can listen!

The Live Music Archive is a collection hosted by the Internet Archive for audio recordings of concerts. Specifically, the LMA hosts, with permission from the band, user-contributed recordings of concerts. Some fans will go to concerts with recording gear to take a full audio recording of the show and then upload it to the archive under the band's collection. As of writing this post there are almost 450 live tapes uploaded to the tMG LMA collection!

There's a few ways that you can listen to recordings on the Live Music Archive. The webpage works pretty well both on desktop and mobile browsers, and that's what I typically use. You can also listen on web without having to make an account on the Internet Archive, which is convenient for browsing. I also use the webpage to download mp3s of favorite tapes to my phone, so that I can listen to them in my local music player.

However, if you don't mind making a free account and prefer the convenience of something more like Spotify, you can also listen to anything on the LMA via the Taper's Section app for Android or the Live Music Archive app for iOS! (Obligatory disclaimer that I use an Android and can't personally vouch for the iOS app, but afaik they have similar features.) The apps have the same functionality as the webpage in a more streamlined mobile-friendly interface, plus things like notifications when there's a new tape added to a collection you follow and downloading in-app for offline listening. The Android app also has a tab for tapes from today's date, there's often at least one (there are FOUR for today!) and that's a really fun way to find tapes to listen to.

If you're looking at this going, wow, that sounds really cool but there's so many tapes that it's a little overwhelming to get into this, don't worry! I'll leave you with a couple recommendations. As mentioned above, I like to listen to shows from the current date. Another fun way to find shows is looking for a specific song - you can go on the wiki and it'll list every show at which the song has been played live, and then just search until you find one of them that has a tape on the archive. Lastly, a few specific favorite tapes of mine:

- 2014-06-15 has the entirety of Taboo VI: The Homecoming played live + one of my absolute favorite performances of both Woke Up New and The Best Ever Death Metal Band In Denton.

- 2015-06-01 is the only time Straight Six has ever been played live and it's interestingly pretty different from the EP version, plus a phenomenal back to back Spent Gladiator 1 & 2.

- 2021-08-06 was the first show after the band started playing concerts again post 2020, and it has a really incredible energy and a phenomenal setlist.

- 2024-03-01 is from the recent run of solo shows, this one was at Grace Cathedral and the ambience is truly truly incredible, it feels so ethereal.

Resident Evil Bot Dump #9

A couple of quick updates on the bots!

I have made a new masterlist which is the google doc on my pinned post. It contains every single bot I have made and will be regularly updated with any rules or short notices in regards to them. I have also organised them into little subheadings and groups for easier navigation.

okay per popular demand (8 notes), here's a quick little intro chinese audiodramas (platforms and popular dramas) in celebration of pride! putting this under the cut since it'll probably get a little long ^-^

for cnovels, the most common form of adaptation isn't a live action or donghua, but actually audiodramas! unlike western media adaptation trends (audiodrama adaptations were more common in the 20th century), chinese media audiodrama adaptations (and even original audiodramas!) are incredibly common and very popular. additionally, in my opinion, the wealth of audiodramas is excellent for learners—while there's a great number of recommendations for various non-fiction chinese podcasts, not everyone wants to exclusively listen to non-fiction, and fiction can be an excellent way to learn, as evidenced by the number of people who jump head-fist into watching live action or animated media as a learning method.

some of the most common audiodrama platforms include 猫��FM/missevan (has a desktop site) and 饭角/fanjiao (technically has a desktop site, but to listen to anything you have to use the app, as far as i'm aware). missevan has a lot of well-known 耽美 (danmei; m/m) audiodramas, as well as some 百合 (baihe; f/f) audiodramas, while fanjiao is a platform dedicated to baihe audiodramas. 漫播/manbo is another platform with some audiodramas as well, but it's not as large as the aforementioned two.

personally, i've never listened to any danmei audiodramas, but there's a spreadsheet document listing about ~40 of them (by reddit user Revolutionary-Pain28), including well-known novels like tyk/faraway wanderers, qjj, and mo du/silent reading. there's also a tgcf audiodrama, which isn't on the list, but is also on missevan as far as i'm aware.

in terms of baihe audiodramas, while there are some on missevan, they tend to be on fanjiao, which has a (relatively) massive collection of dramas. it has audiodramas adaptations of heavy-hitter baihe authors like 宁远/ning yuan (for example, the court intrigue novel 我为鱼肉), newly-risen authors like 七小皇叔/qi xiao huang shu (her hit tomb-raiding novel 问棺/reading the remnants), and a plethora of other adaptations (and some audiodrama exclusive stories!). there's a baihe novel carrd with a list of popular novels, and under each novel it lists whether or not there's an audiodrama adaptation, and where it's available (usually fanjiao, though there's a couple that are manbo).

one thing that's really excellent about fanjiao (and may exist on missevan, though i'm not sure since i've never used the platform) is that there are chinese subs that you can read as you listen to the audiodrama—which is great if you have any audio processing issues like i do.

a lot of the larger/more popular audiodrama adaptations tend to be VIP locked/paid, but the cost is generally affordable; this is a guide to buying dramas on missevan, and there's no guide specifically for fanjiao but you can buy credits in-app on ios via your apple ID (i'm not sure about android).

so, yeah! there you have it—a bit about chinese audiodrama platforms!

Rainmeter is where I get nifty desktop widgets (skins). There are a ton of skins online and you can spend hours just getting caught up in customizing. There are clocks, disk information, music visualizers, weather widgets*, and more.

I get most of my skins from the links I posted, but they are by no means the only resources for Rainmeter skins. r/Rainmeter and Deviantart have some awesome inspiration.

This is what my desktop looks like right now:

Icons: icons8 - this is probably the best free resource for icons I know of

* Note about weather widgets: Older Rainmeter skins that use old weather APIs will likely not work. The Rainmeter forums has information with lists of weather skins that do work.

Windows: Useful Things for Workflow

Flow Launcher - this is basically a search bar, app launcher, and even easy-access terminal all in one. The default hotkey is Alt+Space. I use this almost primarily to do quick calculations. There are a ton of plugins and I've barely scratched the surface with how I use it.

ShareX - This is my screenshot tool and I love it. Admittedly, I find it difficult to configure, but once I had it set up, I didn't really have to adjust it. You can create custom hotkeys to screenshot your entire screen, or to select your screen, or even use OCR. This has saved me a ton of time copying over text in images and making it searchable.

Bonus - Get Rid of Windows Web Search in the Start Menu: If you're comfortable with editing your registry, and you want to get rid of the pesky web results in Windows search, this fix is what I used to get rid of it.

Android: Nova Launcher

This is my main Android launcher that I've been using for almost as long as I've owned a smartphone, and it's super customizable. The best part is that it's free with no ads, and you can purchase premium at a one-time cost.

The main things I use it for are app drawer tabs, renaming apps, hiding apps, and changing the icons.

I've had premium for so long that I've forgotten what the features were, but looking at the website, the one feature I use is app folders.

This is what my phone homescreen and app drawers look like:

Time/Weather: Breezy Weather

Calendar: Month: Calendar Widget (I got this on sale for like 30 cents once but there are a plethora of good calendar apps out there)

Give up on Windows & install Linux instead (Ubuntu is a good one to start with)

Android app modification: ReVanced apps (includes Tumblr), Distraction Free Instagram

Install Rainmeter skins and programs I recommend at your own risk. Before altering Windows, such as editing the registry, make sure you have everything backed up.

The Windows web search fix works on my Windows 11 machine. I don't know if it works for Windows 10, but I do know I was able to disable it in Windows 10 at some point, so your mileage may vary.

Install non-Play Store apps at your own risk. (Although in my opinion, open source APKs are less sketchy than some apps on the Play Store...) Always check where you're downloading APKs form!

The wallpaper for my desktop and phone are custom wallpapers I made myself.

i have opinions about how we fanfiction for the internet, and i don't mean literary or aesthetic ones: i mean your experience of writing it!

this is just my markdown manifesto again:

there is no reason to tangle with google or microsoft for writing copy that will ultimately be rendered as HTML on ao3 and tumblr!! rich text editors are slow as hell on desktop and mobile, both in performance and how much time you waste formatting, which takes your hands from the keyboard whether physical or touchscreen. most users end up redoing that formatting entirely in their destination site's embedded rich text editor and inevitably miss things anyway!! google docs and microsoft word and their ilk were made for printed documents no matter how much they try to mutate to stay relevant—i'm side-eying google's "paste markdown" here, nevermind gemini and copilot!

commonmark markdown is quick and easy to learn. enable markdown on tumblr and all you have to do to is copy and paste (only on desktop, unfortunately). if you don't bother with headers or dividers, the most you have to do afterwards is add a "read more" cut. ao3 is less perfect; you might have to ctrl+R formatting marks for the plain text editor and annoyingly add forward slashes to end tags, but there's still explicit fidelity to the formatting you defined while writing that the clipboard cannot lose. yes, i know "paste with formatting" exists, but it's not a problem for me because I live like this. in markdown, your writing isn't tied to any website or service; it's really yours.

that said, you still need a markdown editor, and there are several:

obsidian.md (windows/android/mac/iOS/linux): i used this for more than three years for grad school and writing. i still use its android app since i sync my notes with a git repo instead of the cloud. without paying for obsidian sync, you can keep your vault in your desktop icloud or google drive folder so you can access it from your phone. it's a great way to learn a version of markdown and get comfortable with just how lightweight and portable your drafts can be. this is a good fit if you've ever used and liked notion and want to focus on words

@ellipsus-writes (web app in open beta; no mobile app yet but the mobile site is functional): they don't market themselves as a markdown editor and clearly aim to replicate a gdocs/word-like, mouse-dependent formatting experience, but they support markdown! if you feel trapped by google because of file sync and being able to share docs privately, this is one of your best bets. i haven't tried this, but i think exporting your work from ellipsus as a .md file and then pasting it into tumblr is Great option

i haven't tried these extensively/recently but know they're out there:

simplenote (android/iOS/windows/macOS/linux): i used this forever ago and it looks like it's grown a lot!

bear (macOS/iOS only)

and another thing is: i think it's nice to use different programs for different parts of life. i use google docs for work and yes, using their awful markdown support, but it still makes a difference to write my fanfiction somewhere else (in the terminal, because i'm the most annoying person alive)!! compartmentalize beyond different accounts, don't let the bastards get you down

also i'm not gooning for a brand here i personally use neovim

Important updates!

Hi, everyone! It's time for a quick update on the status of the Octocon project.

Business filings

We're currently in the legal process of filing for an LLC in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It's expected that we'll be approved sometime in the next few weeks, at which point we'll be able to switch ownership of the app over on Google Play and file for an App Store account. Once this is all set, I'll follow up with our business name and address for transparency.

iOS development is on schedule!

I'll be getting a Mac to start development on the iOS app within a week or two! I expect to have a working prototype in closed testing by early January.

Because the demand for iOS testing is so high, I can't guarantee that everyone who signs up for the testing program will get access. I believe we can only accept a few dozen more people beyond our current testing base, so if you'd like to be part of the program, please sign up as soon as possible on our Discord server!

v1.2.1 release

Version 1.2.1 of the app is expected to be released for Android sometime this weekend. This release will include a plethora of features, including:

Expanding the "Show alter IDs" setting to fully hide IDs in the app when disabled

Marking alters as untracked (won't show up in your alter count)

New dyslexic font (Lexie Readable)

Deleting accounts and wiping alters from within the app

Option to hide alters from the root screen if they're in a tag

Hi there! I'm a twine game developer and I noticed you'd converted your games to be used on Steam and the Google Play store. I'd love to ask a few questions about this, if that's okay? 1. What tools/methods did you use to convert your Twine game to APK? Did you come across any limits with file sizes and game dependencies? e.g. Images pushing you over the 100mb limit? 2. As above, but what tools/methods did you use to get Twine into an executable for Steam? Were there any hiccups here? 3. If you had to make a text-based game with gamified elements and graphics (and you wanted it on Steam/Android, and to retain screen reader capabilities) would you do it in Twine again, or would you use another engine or solution such as Ren'py, Godot, Unreal, etc? For point #1, I had no issues with size or image limit. Steam does give you different ways to upload depending on the size of your game.

For point #2, there will be hiccups and errors when you try to complete this checklist on Steam, but again, watch the videos and send some questions my way, I'll help as much as I can.

For point #3, I have no idea about the Screen Reader part. I know Twine is good for it, but personally, I don't plan on using Twine any longer, I'm moving to Renpy because it's are easier for me as of now.

Side note: Be sure to watch even more videos than those listed and don't hesitate to do additional research on Google whenever you feel stuck. Most questions and answers are already out there, so a quick search can often point you in the right direction.

Organization Tips For Managing Dissociation

DISCLAIMER: There are no sources for this, these are simply things that have worked for me and other people I know.

Physical

- Post It’s: Post it notes are a good tool for reminding yourself of small things like taking your medicine or washing dishes. They are also good for jotting down quick notes that you can organize later

- Planners & Calendars: These are useful for writing down specific things that you need to do each day. Planners usually have more space, so you can write down everything you need to do in a day. Calendars are generally for seeing the more important things on a bigger picture.

- Journals, Diaries, & Notebooks: Good for taking longer notes, or documenting what you need to do in a day.

- Worksheets: I personally like to use grounding worksheets, but what works for you will depend on who you are and which stage of treatment you’re in.

Digital

- Post It App: Digital Post It’s! This one is pretty self explanatory, you can use it for the same things listed above, it’s just on your phone instead. (Available on mobile only)

- Notes App: A simpler alternative to the Post It app. This also has a higher character limit, so it’s better if you have very long or complicated notes. (Available on all apple devices, though I imagine android & windows have some sort of alternative)

- Google Calendar: Also pretty self explanatory, it’s a planner but digital. (Available on anything you can use to access google)

- Obsidian & Notion: Two very customizable writing apps. These are good if you take a lot of notes or need to organize them in some way. I personally prefer obsidian, but I plan to make a review comparing them. (Both are available on apple, windows, & android)

General Tips

- Try to avoid apps and tools like simply plural, octocon, pluralkit, etc. These promote separation of alters as opposed to integration, and commonly cause an increase in dissociation.

- Get enough food, water, & rest. Physical unwellness can affect how much you dissociate, and not in a good way.

- Use what works for you. Not all of these tools will help, and that’s ok! Everyone is unique, and different things are helpful to different people.

Awe thank youuu!!! >.< I think bc I’m such a minimalist in rl it’s easier for me to pick and choose. But here’s a tutorial that’ll hopefully help :33

NOTE! I do everything on my iphone (writing, editing, decorating my page etc just in case ur wondering if I do all this on a laptop/computer,,,I don’t :p)

ʚ The way I work is I’ll choose 3 main colours; a light colour, an in-between shade and then a dark colour. Mine for example : light colour: white, in-between shade: grey, dark colour: dark grey. It’s up to you whether you want ur dark or light colour to be ur main colour but I’d keep ur in-between shade as an in-between. (Think of ur in-between shade as a gradient, helping to blend ur light colour with ur dark colour)

AND CHOOSE COLOURS THAT WORK TOGETHER! Even when picking pictures like for example ur navigation or pinned page make sure the pics have the same three colour combo you used through ur whole blog even if its minuscule it’ll make a huge difference I promise u (so like I’d personally look out for white, grey and black accent pics for my blog on Pinterest) :

ʚ Even with moodboards I still work with the same mindset! :

SET YOUR THEME! Once you’ve figured out your colours and where they’ll go, set your blog’s theme from the editing page!!! (hint : I’d use your mid/gradient/in-between shade as your accent but it honestly depends on what ur after) :

ʚ What really helps is when you have a pic theme and what I mean by that is maybe use ur fav character from somewhere (like mines megumi from jjk) or maybe it’s a sanrio character like my melody. (I grab my pics from this Pinterest board if that helps which I also use for my moodboards)

Example :

⤷ I also found it helped my aesthetic when I added links into my bio to help find my carrd and navigation (here’s the link for the tut) it helps fill out ur bio especially if ur not sure what to put there :) — I know earlier I said I do everything on my phone but I’m not entirely sure if this is able to be done on a phone (android or iphone) so I’d use a laptop with this part if you can :))

Miscellaneous things you can add!

ʚ You can also customise ur ask page title (like mine is : send me a love letter ︎♡)

ʚ Keep ur writing post themes consistent — this helps readers actually remember ur work while also tying ur blog together.

For example, I always use this draft for my writing :

ʚ Fonts really help! I personally use the app : keyboard + + for free fonts (u just have to watch a few adds to unlock them)

ʚ I find it important to make sure whatever picture you add to your blog has a transparent background — not everyone has the same colour palette (like mine is permanently on Dark Mode while others will have theirs on Gothic) :

(I use Picsart for this)

ʚ Tags make a difference on your posts too! A separate tag index can also help ur followers know where to find certain posts for easy scrolling or maybe posts they want to avoid (like smut) :

ʚ For my pfp I chose a bright main colour like yellow to stand out against the dark grey of my blog and I usually leave this as the last step in my “blog decoration” just because I find it easier once all the main construction is done and then I can see what colour(s) I need to add back to tie my blog together.

ʚ I also like to hide my pfp/avatar from my bio bc it looks a bit too much and too big for me personally and it can sometimes clash with the colours you already have going on, I like a minuscule pfp but again that’s just preference :

I have been testing out various apps/programs for keeping personal notes, and think I might be able to use Joplin for a bunch of niches in my digital life, more than I was expecting -- exciting!

On the docket:

replace google keep, to jot down quick notes to myself

replace google drive, to keep semi-permanent lists I want to be able to edit while out and about (eg: list of things to look for while thrift shopping)

replace the folder in onedrive where I keep lists of many different things I want to track (eg: kinds of cheese and my opinions on them, all the artists I've seen live in concert, the timeline of all fandoms I've spent time in)

organize my ever-more-complex TBR list, which is what I was looking for a solution for in the first place

keep track of important details about friends and acquaintances' lives, since I can't rely on my memory to do that to a socially appropriate level

and I'm considering moving my personal project kanbans from Trello to Joplin too!

The one thing I'm specifically not going to move to Joplin: my fic-writing. The android app for Joplin does not have a functional word-count feature, and it turns out that IS a vital feature for me, unfortunately. So that will stay in Ellipsus for now, I think.
