can the "finding your art style" discussion finally end because it does nothing but feeds people's insecurity and obsession with finding something... that they already have?

i've been there, trust me. growing up i was obsessed with "finding" my own art style. but you know what it only did? it made me almost quit drawing altogether on many occasions when in reality i already had one.

an art style is how you interpret everything around you through the act of creation. it's how you draw right now. it's how you place the lines. your line-weight. it's how you draw the eyes. it's how you shade.

an art style grows with you. it grows with your improvement. of course you can explore and bump it up by testing bits and pieces from art you love. but you don't add those bits to nothing. you add to what you already have, to the art style you already have. it's how you draw.

The most annoying phenomena on this website is grown adults refusing to educate themselves, despite the abundant recourses at their disposal, because their heads are still stuck in highschool.

Got blocked by the OP of the diabetes post by saying that sugar IS considered one of the factors in type 2 diabetes 🥴

And it is super important to take it into consideration because eating refined sugar freely and drinking high fructose syrups and syrup-spiced drinks WILL fuck you up and potentially lead to life-threatening conditions in the long run

And that doesn’t mean cutting off sugar completely but be mindful what you put in your body lmao - you *do* need carbohydrates but carbohydrates do not mean white sugar and corn syrup - and your body can convert them from other sources AND healthier sugars

Feed yourself the best quality foods just like you’d your pets and loved ones

#ohhh this prose is UNREADY for how pretty i'm about to make it <33333 #I HAVE A REVISION LIST FOR HB AND IT MAKES ME SO EXCITED #i don't typically like revision and it's probably because in university Writing School they make revision seem like you need to murder #your current writing LOL like nooo STOPPP #that's such an old outdated school of thought #the best writing profs I had KNEW that not all writing needs to be burned to the ground and written back up #like that process works for some people so YAY if that's you! but it's fine to be gentle with yourself and to see strengths #in your first drafts and to see revision as a way to refine what you originally wrote as an act of honouring rather than #as an act of destruction.... don't get me started on the “YOU MUST SUFFER IN REVISION” attitude that my least favourite teachers had loool #NO YOU DON'T!!!!!!
