Maddie Zatara married Jack Fenton of the a Witch Hunting Family, well a ex-Witch Hunting family. She and her family, other than Alicia, are very, very very very aliended. She doesn't believe in the way they do magic; it's science, and she will just prove it. + Danny has learned conjuration as a way to summon ghosts from the Ghost Zone in fights. Most are normal ghost animals or the ones Vlad once had as pets. But he could summon Wulf or Cujo too with it; Frostbite was still too hard to really work. + Maddie was at first confused about why her science-loving son would learn magic, but Danny told her his powers allow him to control phenomena using equations and formulas. + With just an answer to the equations and formulas, he could control the powers around him and others. The summoning was something he learned as a backup. which is the truth; it made his ghost powers much stronger after he understood how it worked. +

Maddie:" HA! SEE SCIENCE! Stupid family never believed me!"

The weirdly competent Doctor

So! The Watchtower's Medical Bay is a hub of constant Activity. With the number of Heroes who work under the Justice League, there are always injuries, health check-Ups, and illnesses that need healing.

But with the amount of Variant Biologies that those Heroes have, it's always a guessing game as to how to help them best. Some Metahumans react positively to penicillin, but others react like it's their Kryptonite. Some Aliens have anatomy similar to Humans, others are so different you can't tell the Stomach from the Bladder.

So when they hired a New Doctor for the Medical Bay, they had to run him through an entire Course on Variant Biologies and how best to treat specific Heroes. It was long and difficult to remember fully, but it was necessary for him to know.

But then the new Doctor started correcting Them.

"Actually, Martian's react better to the Syrup of Eucalyptus Plants better than Penicillin, since Eucalyptus is very similar to a medicinal plant from Mars which they used in many of their antibiotics."

"I don't think just pumping double doses of sedative is the best way to calm down a Speedster, that could have adverse effects on their body. Perhaps try Psychic Intervention? Their minds move a Mile a Second, but if you can calm them down their bodies will follow suit."

"Of course you use Micro-Doses of Kryptonite to operate on Superman! What else would you do?! I don't know, maybe ask JLD to enchant your Equipment to make use of Kryptonian suseptiblity to Magic? The Kryptonite is just gonna give him Cancer!"

Of course the Doctors didn't take kindly to being rudely corrected by a newbie, and Fired him on his first day.

Then a few days later their usual Treatments don't work, and they decide to give those strategies the Quack Doctor gave them out of desperation.

And Lo and Behold, they work! Martian Manhunter is fully healed and feels much better than the previous times he has needed surgery. Apparently they used a different Antibiotic that worked better with his Biology. Which was incredible, how had they figured it out?

Another Doctor you say? One who was experienced on Martian Biology and Medicinal History? He would very much like to meet with the man!

The ICE remember; walking archives that live and breathe sun and electricity. Living proof that the old world happened, and that something survived.

The humans work to build, work to breathe, work to live. They grow what they know and craft what they can. Nature embraces them like old friends.

Together? The two races are learning to thrive in a world that died and breathed again.

Quick tip for witches: take everything anybody says about quantum physics in relation to magic and spirits with a grain of salt. Basically none of these people actually understand quantum physics, and they're all butchering it to make it seem like an explanation for their beliefs. As tempting as it might be to accept and repeat what they're saying, it's also irresponsible and misleads people about what we actually know about quantum physics.

Sure sucks that there’s no Song of Healing in TOTK huh? Maybe he’ll find the Ocarina of Time somewhere in the Depths before Purah manages to convince him to let her poke around at his internal organs with a scalpel. Eh, Link can trust her, she’s a doctor!

Purah seems like she’d be such a fun character to expand upon. Their chaotic friendship potential is unparalleled. Both respected pillars of their community but they also are huge nerds with polar opposite hyperfixations.

Maybe I’ll do a little comic with an original storyline about breaking the Hero’s Aspect Mask’s curse. Could be fun!
