#btw i finally finished sewing the green dress 🎉🎉🎉#it was actually finished like 2 weeks ago but then i decided to sew slip shorts (like slip skirt but shorts) to wear with it so that#the skirt doesn't catch when i wear the dress with tights#then today i decided the modesty extension i made for the button placket was bulky and unnecessary so i removed it#and had to unpick 2 neat lines of stitching from my bias bound center front seam to do so OTL#i had to restitch by hand bc if i wanted to take it to the sewing machine i would've had to basically undo the whole seam...#including the 10 buttons i'd handsewn there...#instead i just unpicked what i had to and clumsily stitched it all up by hand. it's fine no one will see it#anyway now it's finally done. but will i wear it outside? we still just don't know#actually after finishing it i've acquired a new fondness for the original yellow dress LOL i think that one looks better on me#the green dress IS very comfortable though. more comfortable than the yellow one i dare say. very light and airy

#diy plush#i think i was overcomplicating the bodies. like. most basic plush body shape is fine. who gives a shit#also i am maybe regretting the felt for the head... you can see the wear on her already.#alfonse is holding up really well bc his felt was thicker. HUGE pain in the ass to work with#but it did end up making him super sturdy!#i have been thinking of going back and fixing sharena's head (you can see it's misshapen too)#but like. i actually have no idea where i'd start w that. aside from adjusting the shape beneath the head#but i have no idea how i'd fix the issue of her material without like. having to re-do her completely.#at their core these two really are fuck around and find out plushies. i'm learning the importance#of what material to pick and for what purpose.#unfortunately i am gonna do something different for alfonse's body too. the initial one i made#while super cute and i still love the back stitching. i need to readjust proportions#esp if i'm gonna be layering materials for clothes. ESP on this small of a scale.#i have a test run body on alfonse rn that i'm not entirely sold on either. proportions are right#but the craftsmenship is shoddy on it. so. split on even showing it.#also i did succumb to cheating w a sewing machine. which! i need more practice w anyway.#esp if i want to make bigger plushies in the future actually. so. at this point i was just avoiding it#also don't mind the stray pages there LMFAOO one is a comic i already posted and was reffing#for other comics i've been doing. really cool i have like. a backlog of stuff i can ref of my own work actually#i am soooooo obsessed w paneling and placement... nobody talks about paneling and placement......#sharena

My cat tree needed some new posts so in addition to doing that I cleaned and recovered it over the weekend and Theda was so mad the whole time.
All of my cats were confused, but Theda was mad. I stole her cat tree!! Mother is evil!!!!!! Every time I added a new layer she had to climb on it, regardless of it was screwed down yet.
She’s finally at peace again. In time I may be forgiven.
#theda bara true millennial kitten#I had one basket and the cats were obsessed with it#so I decided to buy a second when I ordered more posts#then I discovered the first basket was like#horrifically filthy on the inside#soooo now they once again have just one basket#I did keep the metal structure in case I get super ambitious and decide to try and make my own basket#I basically know how it’s constructed but whether my sewing machines can do it is another question#I bought four yards of fleece assuming it would be overkill#but honestly? this was more or less the correct amount of kill#I have some leftover but not that much#I love that this cat tree manufacturer sells replacement parts#tbh not that much cheaper to buy five posts compared to buying a new tree#but so so so much less waste#and this is a good quality tree

If you became super rich and could design your own house, but could only add THREE unnecessary/random/expensive home additions (like how people will have bowling alleys, movie theatres, closets with museums of shoes, car display rooms, spa rooms, wine cellars, etc. in their mansions) - what three would you choose?
#I think I would have: an indoor pool (but like heavily customized with a faux weather system so I could get the feeling of swimming in#rain or fog or snow etc.). a very small arcade consisting only of skee-ball and DDR machines. and an old Library Room with authentic#historical furniture/interior design to store old books/tapestries/study room equipment/whatever other antiques I'd collect. It'd be#like some fully intricate movie set or something that would feel completely like stepping into another world/time.#Though I might would trade out the arcade for a roller skating rink.. i DO love skating....#And I wouldve put rock climbing gym because I love indoor rock climbing but.. as I understand it they have to change out the rock things#on the walls every once in a while so that you can have new routes and it doesnt get boring. and I'd rather have an activty room thats like#self sustaining and doesnt require me to hire some person to come switch things around once every month. Otherwise I would#totally do that instead.#I'm also personally not counting ''craft'' type stuff like having a pottery room kiln sort of thing because#that doesn't count as 'unnessecary' to me. since stuff like that would not at all be just a hobby I 'happen to#do sometimes for fun'#but would definitely be a career sort of thing. Like if I had the money for a fully stocked sculpture room and and a sewing room#with a good machine and etc. then I would literally be professionally selling pottery and designing clothing and etc.#so I wouldn't count it as 'just a random side room I dont need' etc.#The same way that if I played tennis professionally or as a very intense hobby that takes up most of my life/time#then I wouldn't count having a tennis court in your house to practice in as 'unncesscarry' etc.#wow that is the worst I have ever spelt that word ghbjh#Un Cess Carry#ALSO would obviously have an underground bunker of some sort with food and emergency supplies which also does not count as unnecessary to m#since it's literally like... survival.. And I thought most health organizations literally reccomend that even#the common person has a small 'go bag' prepared in their house. and like an evacuation plan in case of fire or other things#It WOULD be an unnecessary rich person thing to have a full on undergRound village or something stocked with 9000 guns and#whaetever. but I think just a basic emergency room with basic supplies could still be counted under the 'not unnecessary' requirement.#Like I would say that a sprawling courtyard of flower gardens and fountains and hedge mazes that takes up like a hundred thousand#dollars a year in maintenance would count as one of the three 'unnecessary and expensive' things. But having a small garden in the#back yard with a few planters in a little greenhouse or whatever would not. The 'excessiveness' of the thing matters lol#ANYWAY!!!#Just curious what other peoples Three Main things would be... hrrmm

My mom took her sewing machine into work yesterday to hem some towels for their classroom (rags for cleaning) and one of the subs was sewing it for her (sub makes her own clothes so she was flying through it) and all of the sudden the needle broke. Sub was so apologetic.
I wish I'd been there for Mom to say "Don't worry about it. That's the same needle I've been using for twenty years." just to see the face the sub made.

was being so normal and doing the things I set out to do this afternoon but now. the dreaded "make dinner" time.
