Are yanderes who I think would be particularly charmed by a darling who bakes! They love to see their darling engage in a beloved activity, and it’s wonderful that the hobby isn't outdoors or social in nature. Because truly, they would hate to take such a beloved thing from you. They love to watch you happily working at the oven, happy despite everything. They are absolutely over the moon if you made anything for them- either specifically for them, or just allowing them to try what you make- they adore being about to share this with you. They say preparing food is a labor of love, and that sharing food with someone can be adjacent to sharing your heart with someone. To them, it certainly feels that way.

While reading vent posts around here, I realized that being annoying is a major source of worry among users. Honestly, I’m concerned about that too, but I have a theory:

With the rise of the internet, short-form content, and the algorithm, we are constantly pleased with what we see. We expect to be pleased—it’s a kind of hedonistic cycle. I believe this expectation extends to real-life socializing, where we assume people should always be perfectly pleasant, while also seeking approval as universally enjoyable.

However, we all know that’s simply impossible (even if you try really hard). The result? A growing aversion to real-life interactions—since people aren’t carefully curated like their online counterparts—and an unprecedented anxiety about how we are perceived by others.

I’m not a psychologist, so don’t take my word for it. But if you’re passionate about this fascinating field, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if not, still—please share your opinion.

One Week Social Media Detox Update !!

day 8 no tiktok no ig:

this is mostly an update on yesterday, day 7, bc it marks a full week w/ no short form media but i got locked out of tumblr before i could post (ehh idc)

tldr; it's not so bad! ive found other ways to fill the time and im trying to be mindful of how much time i spend on the apps i /am/ allowed to go on bc the point for me is to just not be on my phone as much (screen times below the cut)

some alternatives to tiktok and ig: playing solitaire, playing mahjong on my phone (this was a life saver when i went to urgent care), video games, board games, journaling (theres prob more but ive been sick so there hasnt been much change on the creative side of things yet, or on going outside)

the hardest thing about the detox is that my girlfriend is not on a detox (and im not gonna force her to be on one) so hearing all of the tiktoks in the background makes me want to look over every once in a while. i forgive myself when i do. its an addiction, after all.

trying to congratulate myself for making it this far! i havent been tempted to redownload either app yet (: excited for this weekend and next week !!

* its actually been about 2-3hrs spent on my phone in the last couple days but the day i took my gf to urgent care i spent like 8hrs on my phone playing mahjong and watching yt videos😭😭😭 whoops ((but i didnt break any app limits!))

i truly truly truly hate short form content. tiktoks, reels, instagram shorts… i wish i could just erase them off the face of those apps. i should delete tiktok. i’ll just ask people to send me things they really want me to see.

i hate that it works so well in keeping me away from anything else. thinking, doing, experiencing, or creating… SOMETIMES i get a thought provoking video and it gets a train going… but is the one good tiktok worth the others? i’ll just scroll onwards after i’m done and derail that train just as quickly as it started.

i don’t have enough self control to consume short form content in moderation. by design they DON’T want me to consume in moderation.

i feel my humanity as an artist being stripped from me when i see that the best way to get noticed is to create short form content about my art. does it get better? was it ever better? on instagram i used to be able to scroll on the hashtags and see recent posts from small artists and now it only features top posts. now it feels you must only rely on chance to be heard, an algorithm that is not fully understood.

you have to stand out to be successful. create something that people want. follow the trends. sometimes i feel like all they want me to be is a robot. generating content. to turn my brain into a mass production factory and to get what in return?

where is the place for art in all of this? for community? connection? is it bad if i cannot bare to keep up? i feel a bit insane when i see tips on how to blow up as an artist on instagram. it feels wrong

i guess i am frustrated that the world and systems i reside in truly feel like they could care less about my morals and my core beliefs. who’s with me hahah haha #likeaboss

"Professor..." The word choked in her throat, a lump she could not swallow. A tremor rippled through her. The air between them pulsed, charged with a tension that was both thrilling and terrifying. It wasn’t just the stolen moment; it was the way every bird’s trill seemed to pulse against her skin, the sunlight painting his face in dappled gold. The scent of springtime – freshly cut grass, sun-warmed stone, oddly alluring sweetness, and the faintest trace of his earthy cologne — made her head spin. A single freckle stood out, tantalizingly close.

Her fingers twitched, aching to trace its outline on his neck. His eyes — those eyes that usually held a sharp challenge — softened, a flicker of something darker or maybe longing glistening inside. He didn’t pull away, his breath mingling with hers, warm and unsteady. Each inhale was a heady dose of her, of springtime and the forbidden thrill of her nearness. Sallow sighed yet again.

The air thrummed between them. Was that the buzzing of a bee, or the pounding of her own blood in her ears? It was maddening. She leaned in, a reckless impulse taking hold, her gaze locked on his lips. So close now — she could count the tiny lines around his mouth, smell the faint scent of mint and coffee lingering there. She could count every freckle.

He shifted, the barest of movements, but it shattered the spell. A spark of doubt flickered in his eyes. "Nia..." his voice was a rough whisper, her name laden with warning, or perhaps a plea she dared not decipher. Her hand fell from his neck, but her body thrummed with disappointment and a defiant sort of longing. This was wrong, so wrong, yet... With a boldness she didn't know she possessed, she inched closer. Just a hint of a challenge in her eyes, but also a vulnerability she couldn't hide. His gaze held hers, a storm brewing in those depths.

The warning in his voice was overridden by something sharper, a hunger that mirrored her own. A soft groan rumbled in his chest, a sound that sent shivers down her spine. His hand moved before he could think better of it, cupping her jaw, a touch so light yet unbearably possessive, moving upwards ever so slowly until he brushed it over her lower lip. So soft, so tasty.

He closed his haunted eyes. Her breath caught, her body a live wire humming with anticipation. The space blurred around them — the birdsong, the intoxicating sweet scent of spring, all reduced to this single, buzzing point of contact. His thumb pressed lower. He traced the line of her cheekbone again, a gesture achingly intimate. His fingers shuddering. "Nia..." he breathed her name again through an aching groan, a question, and a plea all at once. It was her permission he sought, yet a fire blazed within her that needed no invitation.

With a soft gasp, he closed the final sliver of distance. The tentative brush of his lips against hers was an explosion. His grip tightened ever so slightly, pulling her in. Time ceased to exist, replaced by the intoxicating heat of his mouth against hers, and the taste of him — coffee and mint, once again echoed. From now on, something entirely and uniquely recognizable as Sebastian.
