I was wondering - since Sandy sends dreamsand to basically everyone on the planet, how would he deal with lucid dreamers? Especially ones that sometimes have nightmares?

Would it literally be a battle where Sandy and Pitch are in the same bedroom, both of them fighting to make the dream good or bad? How would the sleeper react - would they twitch a little, or toss and turn? Going off of another headcanon here: can Pitch see the nightmare the same way Sandy can see the dream?

That could also beg the question: who is really in control - Sandy, Pitch, or the sleeper themselves?

I can only imagine you sent this in an age ago and I am so sorry for making you wait so long for a response, hopefully this comes as a welcome answer to you, out of the abyss of time that are my hiatuses. I am glad you enjoy my head canons, I can only apologise for them haha. I hope this one lives up to any expectations you had.

I think lucid dreamers are a whole other kettle of fish for Sandy. While I do believe that the realm of dreams is something Sandy can enter at will and just as easily as stepping through a door since he can fall asleep on cue. Maybe he spots lucid dreamers roaming around places they shouldn't be or doing things that he has not weaved into his dreams.

He does not take any offense to these people though, if anything he is more likely to admire their work and what they're doing. He never ceases to be amazed at humans and their creativity so while he was definitely surprised when he encountered the first lucid dreamer just wandering around he only turned all the more fascinated and amazed at the dreamers of Earth and that they too could walk freely in dreams as he could. He takes of note of who the lucid dreamers are though and makes a special effort to ensure that despite their lucidity, they are still getting proper rest.

Sandy will probably happily watch a lucid dreamer as they go about their business in the dream world. Maybe even taking inspiration from a few of their ideas. He is not human, sometimes he misses things. Who knew that people apparently not dreaming about phones was a thing? Not Sandy! At least not until a lucid dreamer pulled one out.

However, as your question alludes to, it may not always be fun, smiles and mischief for lucid dreamers. While Sandy does try his best to protect them, the world of dreams is a dangerous place. I do think Pitch can see nightmares the same as Sandy can see dreams. I imagine it is easier for Pitch to change a lucid dream into a nightmare, he need only whisper enough fear worthy things into a lucid dreamer's ear and that blissful adventure can quickly turn into a horror.

In such cases and where Sandy is not already out distributing dreams, if he can see or sense a dream becoming corrupted he will rush to wherever it is the lucid dreamer is suffering and yes, attempt to battle Pitch in the bedroom of the sleeper to convert the nightmare back into a dream. Sandy will always try to soothe a sleeper back into a nicer dream, hoping that whatever horrors Pitch has unleashed will be easily forgotten by the lull of sleep, he will do his best not to wake a dreamer. Pitch on the other hand wants to scare someone awake, and try and have the final image of his horrors imprinted on their mind so they can't forget it. This creates quite the impasse.

Sandy and Pitch will fight it out in that bedroom, yes very likely causing the dreamer to twitch and toss and turn in their sleep as their dream switches between comfort and nightmare as one tries to keep them asleep and the other to scare them awake. Sometimes Pitch wins, sometimes Sandy wins. However the difference is that Sandy is a presence that attends every night. No matter how determined Pitch is, Sandy will always be there every night and every time that person falls asleep, ready to fight and chase away the Nightmare King and the little Starling is relentless and eventually always wins.

An excellent point. I do believe for lucid dreamers, Sandy at least creates a safe almost 'base' dream for them to enjoy, like putting them in a park or a fancy castle, but leaving the rest of the creativity and actions up to the dreamer themselves as that seems to be what they relish, he's also probably learned that lucid dreamers do not follow his weaved stories and can often go very far off track where everyone involved is confused. So he simply tries to put them somewhere safe and let them loose. Sandy does not seek to control these dreams. When Pitch corrupts these dreams, he is trying to gain control of them by manipulating the dreamer. So Pitch himself is never actually in control of a lucid dream, he's more steering the sailboat without being able to predict the wind. His aim is to instil enough fear to wake them up- and no doubt cause more fear in the waking world.

The lucid dreamer has a lot more control over the events of their dream but they also cannot fully control it when Sandy and Pitch are battling in their bedroom and both entities are trying to steer them one way or the other. Sandy tries not to steer but to prevent a nightmare taking hold, he is for sure going to do his best to push a dreamer back into the sweeter side of dreams.

In the end for lucid dreamers, it may be whoever genuinely has the most power that night. Sandy will leave them be once the nightmare is chased off, Pitch will of course linger until Sandy turns up and the lucid dreamer may even get to decide either way themselves. Dream or Nightmare, maybe even in a dream it can come down to one seemingly insignificant action or another. Maybe the fate of these battles is determined by which the lucid dreamer inadvertently sides with, making the fight two against one.

You ever think about how scary an Enerjak Silver would be.

admittedly, i’ve never read archie, but from what i’ve read on his wiki, i can see enerjak is some sorta demigod-spirit that possessed a few echidnas and has practically limitless power? so yeah if silver got possessed by enerjak it would be terrifying. silver’s already powerful as he is, so if he was possessed by this being with god-level strength, psychic abilities, and reality-warping, it’d be all over. he could probably turn the planet to dust with the flick of his wrist. the universe itself would be the thing at risk, the planet would already be gone. enerjak silver would be cool as hell to see. completely undefeatable psychokinetic armoured boy? it’d look so awesome.

anyway since i’ve never read those comics so i couldn’t go too in-depth with this question due to not knowing enough about enerjak, i decided to try design enerjak silver! :]

enerjak’s armour is seemingly inspired by egyptian royalty and armour, and since silver is italian, i decided to base enerjak silver’s armour on roman soldiers! i don’t know if that ended up coming across in the finished design, but i swear the inspiration is there ehfjejfjwjf. i tried to have it so silver’s quills came out the top of his helmet like the crest that some roman soldiers’ helmets had, also i imagine the visor covering his face is moveable, so he can lift it up off his face :]

Headcanons I Probably Overexplain - Idia Edition 1

I'll be entirely honest, I Did Not Write Down what I meant by that when I did have the idea LMAO so we're starting from scratch here. TW for pregnancy issues, miscarriages, technically immoral science on humans ig, read with caution ig? etc. just generally. So concerning Idia's parents, we know that he inherited his curse to burn blot/magic through his father. We don't know how that curse would affect a human, so I think the train of thought I was on was how Mrs. Shroud's body would handle having an organism inside of her that would actively destroy itself. Now, I know that magic is something that seems to develop over a course of years, but it's also pretty evident that magic is inherited, it's got to be linked to some sort of gene or protein, but seeing as we don't know for sure whether other characters, (Cater's sisters, Najma, Sebek's or Trey's siblings etc.), have magic as well, we don't really know if it's a guaranteed thing or not.

REGARDLESS, it's more likely that magic is linked genetically rather than being the result of a mutation or a form of energy, at least in terms of the Shrouds.

I believe that Mrs. Shroud struggled with miscarriages, more than once or twice as the result of the embryo/fetus/baby collapsing in on itself (depending at which point the gene kicks in or the curse starts working) (don't come at me for the wording idk when it kicks in man my brain doesn't tell me that much, ig, technically it would be like by the 6-8 month mark, because I indirectly referenced it as a child).

As a result, the Shrouds realized that it wouldn't be enough to simply be on the Island of Woe for the sake of their future child to burn blot, not when it was still inside of Mrs. Shroud. As a result, they developed a way to do IVF, but instead of having the embryo grow inside of Mrs. Shroud, they made a chamber to simulate the same conditions a baby would need to grow, while also exposing it to blot, without overwhelming it or the curse.

Any experiment will have trial and error, especially when it comes to biology, in a family that focuses mainly on mechanics, chemistry and physics.

So Idia...is the first..alive...child that the Shrouds had. I do think somewhere on the Island of Woe is a nursery room dedicated to his big sister.

and so, cyn began using the solver, her creepy powers, do you think the scary shadow when she is about to atack the humans + whatever happens in the "tea with N" scene is on purpouse?

and tessa realized, this "cyn" was not just a sweet little drone, but could be a threat to what she had, that being her little "peace" with N J and V, where her parents didnt threaten to kill her drones 24/7

and so, she began to not like cyn that much, even avoiding her, giving cyn (who was abandoned in a dump) to have even more reasons to not trust the humans, to hate them, and even more reasons to listen to this "absolute solver" friend

can you describe matthias and theo night routines? and their sleep schedule

Theo doesn’t get a lot of sleep since he’s either out partying into the long stretches of the night or up studying until the words begin to blur on the page. I’d say he normally falls asleep around 3AM-4AM and doesn’t wake back up until 7AM. Four-ish hours is pretty average for how much sleep he gets a night… maybe less at times if he’s more stressed than usual. I should add that he does sleep more when he’s staying over at Matthias’s or vice versa, but generally he tries his best not to let Matthias distract him from studying before bed… which only ever works out about a quarter of the time. Matthias can be... very persuasive.

In the case of Matthias, well… he’s a chronic insomniac whose insomnia is exacerbated by hallucinations and nightmares. Unsurprisingly, his sleep schedule is terribly inconsistent, but if he does sleep then I think he normally manages it sometime around noon and will stay asleep for about an hour or two. It’s actually very rare that he falls asleep during the night—especially after Theo begins to sleep over, as Matthias prefers to read and watch over him at that time instead. Theo has fits in his sleep (from nightmares that he never remembers…) and Matthias gently calms him so he doesn’t wake up.

The only time they fall asleep at around the same time is when they’ve been at it for a while and both need a break. Matthias doesn’t stay asleep for long, though… maybe an hour at most. He does sleep easier around Theo, but that’s mostly just when Theo is awake. I think Matthias finds a lot of comfort in knowing Theo is there watching over him. He went through a lot at the reformation school and there were many times within those years where sleep would be abruptly interrupted and then he’d be back on the killing floor, so to speak, so having someone there to watch over him… I think it really helps. Then, on the other hand, Theo sleeps pretty deeply after they’ve been having sex. There’s never a time he feels more cared for and adored than when Matthias is making love to him, so it's... a relaxing experience. It puts Theo's mind at ease and I think it’s probably when Theo feels the safest. So he'll sleep for a long while after, feeling cradled in Matthias's presence, his anxiety finally snuffed out.

As for their actual night routines… hm. They’re very different, especially before and after the start of Echthroi. 

Theo’s night routine stays pretty much the same throughout the story. He’s not one for self-care, like, at all. Because of that, he doesn’t necessarily have a routine… Theo’s honestly only really meticulous in his studies and everything else suffers for it. However, Theo physically cannot fall asleep unless he’s checked the locks on the windows and doors and closed all of the blinds and curtains. That’s the one routine of his he’s always sure to follow through on, even when he’s intoxicated or sleep deprived.

Otherwise, what else he does as part of his “routine” is up in the air. Sometimes he showers before bed, other times he showers after waking up. Sometimes he combs through his hair all nicely and other times he just impatiently rips his fingers through his hair and shrugs. Sometimes he forgets to brush his teeth, other times he forgets that he’s already brushed his teeth and ends up doing it again. He’s a bit of a mess. If he’s actually aware/awake enough to put himself to bed, then he’ll messily wipe any makeup off his face post-clubbing and/or he’ll shower post-hook up (if it’s the pre-Matthias part of Echthroi). If he’s tired from studying he’ll put all of his materials away and then flop down on his bed. If he has to see his parents in the morning then he’ll wind up in the bathroom for too long, brushing his teeth until his gums bleed. If we’re talking about Theo in the post-meeting Matthias part of the story then he might take a cold shower to try and get Matthias out of his head for a little bit, or he’ll find himself laying in bed staring warily at his phone. Hm… and in general Theo will hum lullabies to himself so he can fall asleep easier… it’s a childhood habit.

By nature of Matthias’s insomnia, Matthias doesn’t exactly find himself preparing for bed during the night like most people. He does, however, still run through his personal care routine at around 8pm. He showers, brushes, flosses, cleanses and hydrates, primps and preens, and then he’ll usually find himself entertaining guests or a partner for the night.

For Matthias pre-meeting Theo, he’s often not alone after dark as he has a string of men with whom he takes to his bed or a list of faceless people to call on whenever he wants to be surrounded by bodies and chatter. There are still quiet nights where he’s by himself or just with Imani, but they’re relatively few and far between. For Matthias post-meeting Theo… woof. He did sleep around here and there still, but I think he gave it up pretty early on… his mind was always swimming with thoughts of Theo and he couldn’t focus on nor did he find himself interested in the men he’d have under him. So after meeting Theo his usual night circuit changes and he often finds himself staying home and reading with some wine and the occasional glance at his phone, waiting for a response. Matthias does a lot of waiting when it comes to Theo.

If they're together at night (when they’re dating), then Matthias will usually make dinner for Theo. He likes feeding him (by hand, even, though Theo often protests). Normally Theo will have a few textbooks with him that he can study from while he waits for dinner and he always winds up going "give me a minute" when the food is finally done. They'll enjoy each other's company just fine at home or they'll go out for a drive or a walk. Theo often winds up getting roped into following along with Matthias's night routine and will poke fun at how fussy Matthias can be as Matthias does skincare beside him in the bathroom. Theo tries to get away with studying again later in the night, but Matthias likes to distract him as he’s personally offended whenever Theo whips out his textbooks past, like, 11PM. In general, they'll wind up having sex at some point, or multiple points, and then they'll shower together. After they towel off and Matthias dries Theo's hair, Matthias will most likely end up reading to Theo until Theo falls asleep. If Theo wakes up during the night, Matthias simply kisses him back to sleep.

ah no don’t worry! i’m not minding it all! if anything i’m actually kinda surprised my interpretation of it is liked enough that i have gotten multiple asks about it :) if anything i’m just more worried i won’t be able to answer the way people want lol <3

as for my thoughts on how genesis is during the pregnancy:

- definitely the ultra emotional type, he will cry over everything whether it be happy, sad, or angry

- more clingy than usual, and he needs near constant love and support from angeal and sephiroth

- all of his insecurities and anxieties kick into total overdrive, especially the further into the pregnancy he gets, furthering his need for support from angeal and sephiroth, which also makes him feel worse because he hates the feeling of bothering them by always needing reassurance

- closer to the end of his pregnancy he’s not able to be as independent as he would like, and he absolutely hates it, not because he dislikes having angeal and sephiroth’s help, but because he hates needing to be so dependent on them, and at times he feels almost guilty for it

- but sometimes he is also just so fed up with being pregnant, or angeal or sephiroth will do something he doesn’t like, and he will make angeal or sephiroth do things for him with the excuse of “you’re the ones who did this to me, its the least you can do” just to be petty

- he gets ridiculous cravings, except half the time it’s for inedible things

- he gets ultra protective over his unborn baby and does everything in his power to keep it as safe as possible, and is constantly worried about the babys wellbeing

and as for angeal and sephiroth:

- finding out genesis was pregnant, i also definitely think angeal was super emotional, like the most emotional any of them have ever seen angeal, and it’s the best moment of his life

- angeal immediately goes into full dad mode though, and he is the dream “will do absolutely anything for genesis and their unborn baby” husband kind of guy

- sephiroth definitely takes a little longer to process it, and he definitely has much more he needs to learn about pregnancy and whatnot, but he’s just as happy as angeal (even though he doesn’t show it like angeal)

- sephiroth definitely tries to be as supportive as he can possibly be for genesis though, even if he’s unsure how exactly he’s supposed to go about it

- while angeal obviously does a lot for genesis, i feel like the things sephiroth does to try to help genesis are a lot more subtle, just small things that in the long run make life easier for genesis

- angeal is just as protective over the unborn baby as genesis is, to the point he refuses to let genesis do a lot of things in worry something might go wrong and it’ll hurt genesis or the baby

- angeal and sephiroth try their best to keep genesis comfortable, which gets harder the longer the pregnancy goes on, but neither of them mind doing whatever it takes, even if it inconveniences them

- neither of them ever complains about needing to do things for genesis, or needing to comfort genesis, even if sometimes they do get a little tired of it

- i think surprisingly, not only does genesis get super clingy, but angeal and sephiroth do too, the three become more inseparable than usual

- they both commonly cuddled genesis while subconsciously resting their hands on genesis’ stomach, which also meant eventually they would feel the baby kicking, and the first time sephiroth felt it i think he probably looked like a confused kid at first, wondering if it was supposed to do that, but after having it explained to him they got to see a rare sephiroth smile! and when angeal first felt it, i think he immediately got super giddy about it (and i’m entirely convinced angeal is the type to kiss genesis’ stomach and try to talk to the baby)

Okay so if we're talking the Peter Jackson movie universe, I would like to see Eowyn and Faramir's wedding purely because apparently Eowyn's wedding dress was the most complex, beautiful piece that the costuming department made for the films, and it never actually made the final cut. I think about that dress every day!!!

Outside of that, hands-down it would have to be Elrond and Cel's wedding, because they are my blorbos. :D
