Securing Growth in a Connected World: The Role of Digital Marketing and Fraud Prevention in Telecom
How Strategic Telecom Digital Marketing and Robust Fraud Prevention Fuel Sustainable Success
In the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry, growth no longer hinges solely on network expansion and pricing strategies. As consumer behavior shifts toward digital experiences and cyber threats become more complex, telecom providers must adopt a dual focus: engaging customers effectively through telecom digital marketing and protecting their networks and users through advanced telecom fraud prevention measures.
Together, these pillars of success not only ensure competitive advantage but also help foster trust, loyalty, and long-term sustainability in an increasingly connected world.
The New Age of Telecom Marketing
In today’s data-driven landscape, telecom digital marketing is far more than placing ads or managing social media. It involves the strategic use of analytics, automation, content creation, SEO, and multichannel engagement to attract, convert, and retain customers.
With nearly every telecom customer engaging digitally—whether researching plans, comparing services, or seeking support—providers must meet them where they are, using personalized and data-informed tactics.
Key components of modern telecom digital marketing include:
Omnichannel Campaigns: Delivering consistent messaging across web, mobile, social media, and email.
Personalized Offers: Using customer data to present relevant products and promotions tailored to usage behavior and preferences.
Marketing Automation: Streamlining lead nurturing, onboarding, and customer retention through platforms that respond to customer actions in real time.
Content Strategy: Producing educational and engaging content that establishes thought leadership and improves organic reach.
By leveraging these tactics, telecom brands can boost visibility, increase customer acquisition, and build lasting brand equity in a competitive market.
Leveraging Data for Smarter Campaigns
One of the most powerful assets telecom providers possess is data—usage patterns, device information, demographics, and browsing behavior. When applied responsibly, this data enables more intelligent telecom digital marketing strategies.
For example, behavioral analytics can identify when a customer is likely to upgrade, prompting a well-timed offer. Predictive models can help marketers segment audiences more effectively, increasing conversion rates and reducing churn.
However, the increased use of customer data also brings privacy considerations to the forefront. Successful marketers must strike a careful balance between personalization and compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
The Rising Threat of Telecom Fraud
While marketing fuels growth, protection fuels sustainability. Telecom fraud prevention is a growing priority, as the industry faces evolving threats including SIM swap fraud, subscription fraud, international revenue share fraud (IRSF), and identity theft.
Fraud not only results in substantial financial losses for providers but also erodes customer trust and brand reputation. As networks expand and digital touchpoints increase, fraudsters exploit new vulnerabilities with alarming speed.
Some of the key types of fraud impacting telecom providers include:
Subscription Fraud: Using stolen identities to acquire service or devices without payment.
Wangiri Fraud: Missed call scams that lead victims to call back premium-rate numbers.
Call Spoofing and Hijacking: Misrepresenting caller IDs or intercepting calls for malicious gain.
SIM Cloning and Swapping: Gaining unauthorized access to mobile accounts by duplicating or replacing SIM cards.
Building a Robust Fraud Prevention Strategy
Effective telecom fraud prevention requires a multilayered approach that includes:
Real-Time Analytics: Monitoring network behavior in real-time to detect suspicious activities and anomalies.
Machine Learning Algorithms: Using historical data to train AI systems to recognize fraudulent patterns before damage occurs.
Customer Verification Protocols: Strengthening identity verification during onboarding, SIM swaps, and account recovery processes.
Threat Intelligence Sharing: Collaborating with other telecom operators and law enforcement to share threat data and response strategies.
Additionally, educating customers on how to recognize fraud attempts—such as phishing texts or unusual account activity—adds another layer of defense.
Integrating Marketing and Security
Though seemingly distinct, telecom digital marketing and telecom fraud prevention must work in tandem. For instance, marketing teams promoting new customer incentives must ensure fraud controls are in place to prevent abuse. Likewise, fraud prevention teams can leverage customer engagement insights from marketing to identify unusual behavioral deviations.
Both functions depend on accurate, up-to-date customer data and require alignment on privacy standards and customer communication protocols. When integrated thoughtfully, these disciplines create a seamless and secure experience that enhances brand reputation and customer satisfaction.
Conclusion: Empowering Telecom Success with The Boon of Wireless

The Role of Spectrum Auctions and Spectrum Sharing Strategies in Telecommunications
The telecommunications industry is evolving rapidly, driven by the increasing demand for high-speed connectivity, 5G networks, and future innovations such as IoT and AI-driven applications. At the core of these advancements lies efficient spectrum auctions and spectrum sharing strategies, both of which are crucial for optimizing wireless communications and ensuring that spectrum resources are utilized effectively.
Understanding Spectrum Auctions
Spectrum auctions are government-regulated processes through which telecom operators bid for the rights to use specific radio frequencies. These auctions ensure a fair and competitive allocation of spectrum resources, promoting innovation and preventing monopolization.
The Importance of Spectrum Auctions
Efficient Allocation of Scarce Resources
The radio frequency spectrum is a limited resource, and spectrum auctions ensure that it is allocated to operators who can make the best use of it.
Auctions prevent inefficient or excessive hoarding of spectrum by a single entity.
Encouraging Market Competition
Spectrum auctions allow multiple telecom providers to compete for bandwidth, fostering industry competitiveness.
This competition can lead to better service quality, lower costs, and improved innovation.
Government Revenue Generation
Auctions provide governments with significant revenue that can be reinvested into infrastructure, education, and public services.
In many cases, auction proceeds are used to support rural broadband expansion projects.
Accelerating 5G Deployment
The rollout of 5G technology requires access to high-band spectrum, often referred to as millimeter-wave (mmWave) spectrum.
Spectrum auctions provide telecom operators with the necessary bandwidth to launch and expand 5G services.
Challenges in Spectrum Auctions
While spectrum auctions are beneficial, they also present some challenges:
High Costs for Operators: Winning spectrum can be expensive, and smaller telecom providers may struggle to compete with larger corporations.
Uneven Distribution: Some regions may see an oversupply of spectrum licenses, while others may experience shortages.
Long Auction Processes: Regulatory delays can slow down the deployment of new networks and technologies.
Spectrum Sharing Strategies: A Solution for Efficient Usage
Given the challenges associated with spectrum auctions, spectrum sharing strategies have emerged as a viable alternative to improve spectrum efficiency. Instead of exclusive spectrum ownership, spectrum sharing allows multiple entities to use the same frequency bands under regulated conditions.
Types of Spectrum Sharing Strategies
Licensed Shared Access (LSA)
A structured model where licensed users share spectrum under pre-defined conditions.
Helps balance the demand for exclusive use with the need for more efficient spectrum utilization.
Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA)
Utilizes AI and real-time data to allocate spectrum dynamically based on demand.
Enhances efficiency by allowing unused spectrum to be accessed when not in use by primary license holders.
Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS)
A notable example in the U.S. that enables a three-tiered spectrum sharing model:
Tier 1: Incumbent users (e.g., military and government agencies)
Tier 2: Priority access users (licensed businesses)
Tier 3: General access users (unlicensed but regulated users)
Ensures spectrum is available for multiple stakeholders without interference.
Unlicensed Spectrum Sharing
Open access to certain frequency bands (e.g., Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies).
Encourages innovation and broadens access to wireless services without the need for costly licenses.
Cooperative Spectrum Sharing
Telecom providers collaborate to share spectrum resources, optimizing network efficiency and reducing costs.
Particularly useful in rural areas where deploying dedicated infrastructure may be economically unfeasible.
Benefits of Spectrum Sharing Strategies
Maximized Spectrum Utilization: Prevents spectrum wastage by allowing multiple users to operate within the same frequency bands.
Lower Costs for Operators: Reduces the need for expensive spectrum purchases, making it more affordable for smaller players.
Faster Deployment of Services: Enables more rapid expansion of mobile networks and broadband access.
Enhanced Rural Connectivity: Helps bridge the digital divide by providing affordable connectivity options in underserved areas.
Spectrum Auctions vs. Spectrum Sharing: Which is Better?
Both spectrum auctions and spectrum sharing strategies have their unique advantages and drawbacks. A balanced approach often works best:
Factor
Spectrum Auctions
Spectrum Sharing
Cost
High for operators
Lower as spectrum is shared
Efficiency
Fixed allocation, sometimes underutilized
Dynamic and optimized usage
Competition
Encourages bidding wars among major players
Allows smaller companies to participate
Flexibility
Spectrum is licensed for long-term use
Flexible access depending on demand
Technology Readiness
Well-established in the industry
Still evolving with AI-driven solutions
The Future of Spectrum Management
As telecom networks continue to grow, the future will likely see a hybrid approach that combines spectrum auctions with spectrum sharing strategies:
AI and Machine Learning in Spectrum Management: Predictive analytics will enhance real-time spectrum allocation.
5G and Beyond: Advanced sharing models will support next-generation networks, including 6G research.
Regulatory Evolution: Governments will adapt policies to encourage more efficient and inclusive spectrum use.
Public-Private Partnerships: Collaboration between telecom operators and regulators will foster more dynamic spectrum usage models.
Conclusion
Spectrum auctions and spectrum sharing strategies are both essential for the telecommunications industry. While auctions provide a structured approach to allocating frequency bands, spectrum sharing ensures that unused resources do not go to waste. By integrating both methods, telecom providers can optimize network performance, reduce costs, and accelerate the deployment of new wireless technologies, ultimately benefiting businesses and consumers alike.

summary: you catch lando’s eye at an art auction in monaco, so he challenges you to a friendly competition for one of the paintings. little does he know, you’d stop at nothing to get it. inspired by this request.
warnings: swearing, alcohol, illegal things vaguely mentioned, gossip girl au
a/n: thank you to @monzaaasharl for letting me use the request! based on events from gossip girl s6 ep6 but can be read without seeing the show! it is mentioned the reader is chuck’s stepsister, à la serena van der woodsen 🥂
lando norris masterlist
Tumblr media
The reception was glamorous. Everything you would expect at an event like this, in a place of this caliber. Monaco was one of a kind that way; tuxedos were tailored to perfection and designer gowns flooded the room. The people adorning them certainly had the bank accounts to match.
For you, these scenes and crowds weren’t out of the ordinary. You’d been a part of them for many years at home in New York City. Sometimes alongside your mother at parties where her husband, and one of the city’s richest businessmen, commanded everyone’s attention.
The name Bart Bass spoke for itself, for better and for worse. You could only be so lucky that you were a teenager when your mother married him years ago.
Your step brother Chuck was not as lucky, being the one and only son of Bart’s. Under the weight of the Bass name, he could only hope to change the legacy that had been left for him. One that wasn’t tainted by duplicity and deceit.
If you could help him change that even a little bit, you would. It wasn’t a lonely effort either. Your entire friend group seemed to stick together in defining moments like these. When Chuck discovered a trail that would lead to the exposure of his father’s illegal business practices, there was no hesitation in your offer to help.
Bart often got away with any and everything, always facing little to no consequences for his wrongdoings. Paying off associates or officials using tens of millions in hush money was hardly a dent in the bank to someone like him.
Tonight, all of that could change. The justice you were looking for was right here in Monaco; a thin piece of microfilm enclosed in the back of a 1998 Richard Phillips painting being auctioned off tonight. Titled— The Spectrum.
On the film were numbers, nearly too small to see with the naked eye, that directly incriminate Bart in an illegal business deal. With a favorable social status and a hefty trust fund in your name, your logic tells you that it’s crazy to get wrapped up in all this knowing that if Bart finds out, he would likely turn your mother against you.
But your conscience reminds you just how many lies and just how much loss your family has endured at the hands of Bart Bass.
The soft touch of Nate’s hand on your shoulder interrupts your daydreamy stare into a flute of champagne. He’s out of breath and looks slightly panicked.
“Bart knows we’re here for the painting.”
“What?!”
“But Chuck’s following Bart’s guys, he won’t let them get near it.”
“The bidding starts in 10 minutes!”
“He won’t get here in time, it’s up to us. Think you can handle it?”
You give your best friend a knowing smirk, one that he returns.
“I know I can. These people may be rich as hell but Chuck would give his right arm for that microfilm. I won’t back down to anyone who bids on it.”
Your eyes flicker over to the painting, before they lock with a pair of blue ones across the gallery. He offers a subtle smile before turning his attention back to the painting. Whoever he was, he seemed to be a little too interested in the piece for your liking.
In a room full of deep pockets you knew you wouldn’t win a bidding war without a fight, but the challenge made it all the more entertaining. You turned to Nate, whose phone started ringing with a call from Chuck.
His eyes searched yours for reassurance and promise that you’d execute the plan.
You smiled at him, embracing your inner confidence mixed with a little liquid courage. “Answer him, I’ll take care of this.”
He nods, chuckling slightly as he follows your line of sight to the man admiring the painting. “Good luck.”
-
Lando fixated on the beautiful hues of The Spectrum. Though he can admit that the art doesn’t hold a candle to the woman that caught his eye across the room. He couldn’t tell if he was blinded by her smile or the sparkle of her dress, catching subtle glimpses of her throughout the evening.
His trance was broken by the soft clicks of stilettos inching closer and closer towards him, though the sounds were muffled over chattering guests and classical music.
“Beautiful, isn’t it? No wonder you’ve had your eyes on it all night.”
Lando’s head turned towards the woman’s voice, cheeks warming as he recognized you instantly. He wondered if you had been noticing him too, or at least knew who he was. Lando smirks and takes a subtle step closer to you.
If you weren’t about to psych him out of bidding on the painting, you’d be enamored by the scent of his cologne.
“Can’t help it, I’m naturally drawn to beautiful things.”
“Well, I guess you’re in the right place because this room is full of them.”
“That it is.” He teases, holding your eye contact while taking a sip of his drink.
“It’s almost impossible to find something I like best, but I think this one will blend in perfectly with the rest of my collection. Do you collect?”
“Art? No, I don’t collect art.”
“Then what is it you collect…?” Your sentence fizzles, realizing you hadn’t exchanged names.
“Lando.”
“Okay Lando, what is it you collect?”
He raises his eyebrows, almost surprised at the question, but chooses to be coy.
“Cars.”
“So then what brings you to an art auction?”
He shrugs in response. “Is it my turn to ask questions…?”
“Y/n.”
“Y/n, what brings you to this auction?”
“I already said, my collection.” You smile, matching his coyness. If he wanted to be short and sweet, two could play at that game.
“Which is…?”
“In my apartment. In New York.”
“Wow, long way from home. You wouldn’t happen to be in need of someone to show you around, would you?”
“Not really, I’m just here for the painting.”
“Maybe you came for the painting, but I could give you a reason to stay.”
You roll your eyes at his flirty attempts, ultimately brushing him off. “And what reason would that be? A private tour of your car collection?”
“You’d be surprised. What happens if I decide to take home the Richard Phillips myself?”
“You mean if you’re able to outbid me for it?”
“Trust me, I’ll be fine.” Lando assures. “I promise I’ll let you come over and see it.”
“No need. The painting is what brought me here, remember? There’s no way I’m leaving without it.”
Maybe it was the competitor in him, (it probably was), but seeing you get more and more eager about the work of art fueled something inside of him. Sure, the gentlemanly thing to do would be to step aside and let you have it. But where was the fun in that?
“You mean the painting that you only noticed about 5 minutes ago? If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were using it as a cover to come over and talk to me.”
“Forgive me for sounding rude but… who are you?”
“I don’t just collect cars, Y/n. I‘m a Formula One driver.”
Your unimpressed stare makes him feel like an idiot, once he quickly realizes that maybe you really don’t have an ulterior motive.
“In any case, The Spectrum will look much better decorating the halls of my apartment than it will look collecting dust in your bachelor pad. It’s not like you’ll even be at home to enjoy it.”
“We’ll see about that-” Lando continues, before the bid caller starts introducing the pieces of art, the Richard Phillips being the crown jewel of them all.
“Ladies and gentlemen, if we’re ready to begin, I’d like to start the bidding for the Richard Phillips at $500,000.”
Lando raises his bidding paddle immediately, quick reflexes and all. “500.”
“I hear $500,000, going once..”
“520!” You respond, before lowering your voice so only Lando can hear your next statement. “You may be an athlete but I promise this is a race you won’t be winning.”
“Lucky for you, I’m up for the challenge.” He teases, raising his bidding paddle once more. “540!”
“560!” You announce with confidence, eyes shooting daggers at the man beside you.
Another guest made a bid for 570, prompting Lando to bid 580.
“580!” The announcer calls. “Do I have 600?”
“$750,000!” You shout, turning heads.
Oddly enough, your bid inspires others to chime in also. There had to be something about what they wanted to prove to everyone else in the room— there was always someone richer in Monaco.
Lando certainly looks at you in disbelief, wondering how far you’ll take this. “Oh, now you’re just showing off. You only want the damn thing because I do anyway!”
“Oh please, don’t flatter yourself. This doesn’t have anything to do with you.”
“Then why do you want it so bad?”
“It would be a nice treat for my family and I, that’s all.” Your eyes flicker around the room to the other bidding paddles, the number climbing quickly. “What’s it to you? Why do you want it so bad?”
Lando shrugs, raising his paddle to bid $920,000. “It’s for a good cause.”
“920… Going once, going twice…”
“1 million dollars!” You shout, looking around the room, daring anyone to exceed your bid.
Lando’s mouth hangs open and for a second he almost wants to challenge it.
But then he imagines the heart attack it would likely give his business manager to see a surprise million-dollar charge to his account.
“What?” You question him insincerely. “It’s for a good cause.”
“1 million dollars! Going once, going twice…. Sold to the lady in silver!”
You smile graciously at the applause from the crowd. After all, this was a victory for the charity of the evening. Little did they know you just secured a victory of your own.
Lando sighs. “Well, congratulations. I’m sure your husband will be thrilled.”
“Husband? What are you talking about?”
“That man you’ve been whispering with all night. You said the painting was for your family?”
“Who, Nate?” Your face scrunches up in perplexity, following Lando’s line of sight towards the back of the room where Nate is standing with Chuck, clapping and beaming with pride that everything went according to plan, the painting is yours now.
“Yeah, whatever his name is.”
“We’ve been friends since we were kids. And if you must know, I’m not married.”
Lando chuckles, part amused and part embarrassed that he jumped to conclusions. He reminds himself that he needs to stop doing that.
“And he didn’t send you over here to flirt with me in hopes that I wouldn’t outbid you?”
“He didn’t put me up to anything, I am way above those childish antics! And I’d hardly call any of that flirting.”
“Whatever it was, I guess it worked, didn’t it?”
You smile at him, contemplating your answer. “I suppose. If it makes you feel any better, I promise I have only good intentions.”
“Well either way, I still have to find my mum a new birthday present.” He grumbles, taking a swig of his drink.
Your smile falters and you give his arm a nudge, taken aback by his confession. “The painting was for your mother? Why didn’t you say that?!”
“I’m not sure if anyone’s ever told you this, Y/n, but you’re not that easy to negotiate with.”
“I’ve been told. But for the record, neither are you.”
“If it were me, I wouldn’t have given up the painting. So I don’t hold it against you.” Lando concedes, but starts eyeing you suspiciously. “Although… I still don’t know your motive. I mean all of that drama simply for your art collection which is 4,000 miles across the Atlantic? I don’t believe it. So tell me, Y/n, what’s your motive?”
Lando chuckles at the stone cold stare you give him in return. “It’s only fair, Y/n, I told you mine.”
“Are we in first grade or something?”
By the look he’s giving you, it’s obvious that he’s actually dead serious.
At which you sigh, surrendering to the man’s relentless attempts to get a real answer out of you. Moments prior you did the same to him, except it’s not as fun when the tables are turned.
“The Richard Phillips painting, it belongs to my mother.”
Lando’s eyes widen in disbelief, like a deer in headlights. “You bid a million dollars on a painting you might as well already own?! Fucking hell, why on Earth woul-”
Abruptly, you take him by the arm and escort him away from the main crowd, an action that shocks you both.
But the last thing you needed was for him to blabber out all of your secrets, draw attention to you both and blow your cover in this crowded room.
“Long story short, my stepfather has been involved in some…not exactly legal business practices. And I’m not talking about some common white collar crimes, he makes Madoff look like a fucking Saint. He’s been hiding his proof in the back of that Richard Phillips painting, sort of in plain sight to throw the scent off. My mom’s had that painting in the apartment as long as I’ve been alive. By the time I found out the evidence was in there she had already sold it. My stepbrother tracked it down, and here I am.”
Lando looks like he doesn’t know what to say, equal parts confused and concerned for what kind of danger you might be in or just how deep this all goes.
“There’s not enough time in the world to explain everything but just know that he’s hurt a lot of people, not only my family and I. He deserves what’s coming to him and it starts with what’s hidden behind that painting.”
His heart softens at the look of purpose and conviction in your eyes, understanding that whatever this is, it’s bigger than you and him.
“Well if he’s facing your wrath, I should probably be wishing him the best of luck. Whatever the consequences to his actions, the U.S. government is no match for you.”
At that you let out a laugh, one that’s genuine and full of heart. You can’t even remember the last time someone made you laugh like that, and it was refreshing.
“That’s very sweet, Lando, even if you didn’t intend it that way. I just hope I’m not going to all of this trouble for nothing. I don’t want it to be in vain.”
“It won’t be, you’ll see.”
“How could you be so sure?”
“Just a hunch.” He muses sarcastically, feigning uncertainty.
For the first time tonight you feel appreciative towards him, to the kindness and listening ear he’s giving you, a total stranger until about 20 minutes ago.
The irony wasn’t lost on you that while he was bidding on the art for a gift to his mother, you were bidding on it to repossess evidence that would send your stepfather to prison for the rest of his life, likely devastating your own mother in the process.
“Let me help with your mother’s birthday gift. Please?”
He raises his eyebrows at your sudden offer, wondering how or why you would be interested.
“You don’t need to do that. Aren’t you a little busy with your own family?”
“Somewhat. That doesn’t mean I can’t make it up to you.”
“You won the painting fair and square, Y/n.”
“Please?” You nearly begged, widening your eyes.
Lando sighs jokingly as a way of admitting defeat. “We really are in first grade.”
“See, I knew you’d come around! Art Basel will be in Miami soon, I’ll stay for the whole week if I have to. Surely I can find some amazing pieces for your mother there, I might even find another Richard Phillips painting!”
“I don’t dare underestimate you again.” He quips, raising his glass to you. “I have no doubt that we will find something.”
“We?”
“I’m a Formula One driver, remember? We’ve been racing in Miami for a couple years now, I hope you’re prepared to stay there for the weekend.”
You roll your eyes at his bargain, of course he already has plans laid out for you. “You’re as persuasive as you are slick, Lando.”
“Is that a yes?”
“It’s not a no.”
“You’re as sharp as you are stubborn, Y/n.”
“You haven’t seen the worst of me yet.”
He laughs, impressed at how you manage to stay one step ahead of his banter. “Just promise me one thing?”
You humor him with an unsure look, knowing you would accept his terms anyway. “What’s that?”
“Don’t get into anymore bidding wars with handsome strangers.”
“And why’s that?”
“Because it’s our thing.”
“Okay, Lando. I think I can agree to that.” You muse, holding out your pinky for him, the two of you subconsciously moving closer into each other’s space. “From here on out, bidding wars will be our thing.”
Lando accepts, but decides to challenge you further. “I’m no lawyer, but I don’t think pinky promises are binding, Y/n.”
You nod slowly in acknowledgement, realizing just how close the two of you are standing now, and how intensely he seems to be focusing on the beautiful features of yours he’s had yet to see up close.
Now that you think of it, you haven’t had a chance to take a good look at him either. His eyes are as captivating as his smart aleck wit that’s been keeping you on your toes from the moment you two spoke.
And in a split second, you forget all that was stopping you from noticing what drew you in to Lando to begin with. Your lips collide with his, the stress and tension you’ve been carrying melting away into the kiss, and he’s certainly eager enough to take it on for you.
Mesmerized by each other, you then forget how the hell you both ended up here, tucked away in a dark room from the art you were just competing for.
Until you do remember that you are still proving a point after all, breaking away from the kiss just a moment too soon and smirking in his face.
“How’s that for binding, Lando?”
He appears amazed, out of breath and slightly shocked that you went there. You, however, were carrying on with ease, your thumb brushing over his lips at the faint stain of your lipstick on him.
“Close enough.” Lando coaxes, this time bringing his thumb to brush against your cheek delicately.
His fingertips may as well have been on fire by the way his touch made you feel red hot, and yours to him. Instead of backing away from the burn, Lando leaned in, giving into temptation and meeting your lips once again.

Fine Art is Ridiculously Cheap/Expensive
Over the past year or so, I've developed a new passion and hobby in collecting art. I deeply resent this, since it flies in the face of one my cardinal life rules I've abided by for as long as I can remember: do not develop expensive tastes. And fine art is an expensive hobby. Or is it? Well, yes, in many ways. But in other ways, it's ludicrously cheap. Let me explain. First of all, I'm not talking about the headline-making auction prices of masterworks that involve more money than some countries' GDP. Robert Rauschenberg's "Buffalo II" silkscreen painting, for instance, auctioned for $88.1 million dollars in 2019. That is expensive under any definition. It's also functionally irrelevant to my life. Go down to the other end of the spectrum. If I want to buy a decent-sized painting from an "emerging" artist -- a term that generally encompasses artists who have gallery representation but are at an early career stage, aren't in any museums or public collections, and haven't otherwise made any major "mark" in the art world -- it generally will cost in the low four-figures. That is expensive. It is a price I have paid for things, but it immediately becomes one of if not the most expensive thing in my house that I can physically lift with my own hands. At that price, there's not a lot of room for dabbling or experimenting or dilettantism. If I buy it, it better be something that I want on my wall for at least a decade. And again, that's entry-level. What happens if you want to move up in the world? Well, here's where the "ludicrously cheap" comes into play. Because you can absolutely get a Robert Rauschenberg print -- not a reproduction, a genuine, vetted, real-deal limited editioned Rauschenberg -- in that same price range. Earlier this year, Christie's auctioned a numbered Rauschenberg lithograph (edition of 31) from 1969 titled "Gulf" for $2,142. That is not cheap. But that is a price a normal human could imagine paying for something. My wife and I are financially doing reasonably well, but we are by no means 1-percenters. We couldn't toss out two grand on a lark. But could we do it periodically, for something we really loved? Yes, absolutely. And Rauschenberg is an indisputable A-tier artist. What happens if you go the next step down? This is a woodcut by Werner Drewes, titled "Goddess of the Night": It was executed in 1961 as an edition of 10; one of those editions is in the Smithsonian's American Art Museum. Drewes himself is no small figure: he is credited with bringing the Bauhaus movement to America, and he coined the phrase "It Can't Happen Here" as the title of a 1934 portfolio of works critiquing the rise of fascist repression in his native Germany (Sinclair Lewis would use it a year later for the title of his famous book). "Goddess of the Night" recently auctioned for $924. Two other Drewes woodcuts sold together as a lot at that same auction for $826. There's just something about that particular price range that I can't wrap my head around. It is simultaneously so expensive, and so accessible. It's so expensive in the sense that it is a figure that I would need to think about, and I'm far more financially secure than the vast majority of Americans. It's so cheap in the sense that it's a figure I can feasibly pay, which feels absurd to me when we're talking about historically significant artists whose works are in major museums. via The Debate Link https://ift.tt/uEe2hBC

2025 Supported Org Umbrella: organizations serving vulnerable LGBT people
For the past five years, FTH has supported one “umbrella” cause: we invite participants to donate to their own local grassroots organization, while also suggesting a handful of exemplary organizations working in communities where the need is especially acute. This year, our umbrella category is community organizations serving and supporting vulnerable members of the LGBT community.
It goes without saying that the challenges facing the LGBT community under the incoming administration are numerous, from attacks on gender-affirming care to the rollback of hate speech protections on social media. The anti-trans and anti-queer goals of project 2025 are a chilling read. Meanwhile, a disproportionate number of queer youth and adults experience homelessness and housing insecurity, with trans, Native/Indigenous, and multiracial youth being particularly vulnerable. The needs are great across the spectrum, and intersect with every area of life.
Tumblr media
There are dozens of small, local organizations working to support the LGBT community, including:
Sherlock’s Homes Foundation provides housing, employment opportunities, and a loving support system, for homeless LGBTQ+ young adults in which these young adults learn about responsibility, accountability, financial independence, life skills, but most of all how to love themselves.
The Kentucky Health Justice Network has been on our list before for their support of reproductive rights including abortion, but they are also active in advocating and assisting the trans community, working to provide access the healthcare they need, as well as reaffirm their autonomy and community.
Brave Space Alliance is a Black-Led, Trans-Led LGBTQ+ Center that strives to 'empower, embolden, and educate each other through mutual aid, knowledge-sharing, and the creation of community-sourced resources as we build toward the liberation of all oppressed peoples.'
Trans Queer Pueblo works to provide a safe space for LGBT migrants of color in Arizona. They create community solutions to meet basic needs, cultivate the leadership of LGBT people of color to transform needs into community power, and fight for social justice for all.
TransFamily Support Services guide transgender/non-binary youth and their families through the gender transitioning process to help make it the most positive experience possible.
You can support any of these orgs as a creator in the 2025 FTH auction (or as a bidder, when the time comes to donate for the auctions you’ve won.) Alternately, you can find and support an organization in your own community that fits under this umbrella!

currently thinking about a universe where having your own whumpee(s) is like. a widespread thing. and i want to dump my train of thought somewhere so here you go
stronger/more durable whumpees are worth more because they last longer — maybe they’re used as lab rats for whumper to test a new torture device or weapon
on the other side of the spectrum, weaker whumpees are worth less — maybe they’re usually bought in bulk
whumpees being bought and given to family members as gifts during the holidays (like a dog — pet whump possibilities??)
“buy one, get one free”
“handcuffs/weapon(s) not included”
online quizzes telling you what kind of whumpee would be best for you (again, like a dog)
immortal/super-powered whumpees being auctioned off (i have the mental image of whumpee being in a cage in front of a crowd like in that one jurassic park movie idk)
whumpers trading whumpees
whumpees being used as currency; whumpers exchanging whumpees for food/resources/weapons
whumpees being labeled as “new” or “used”
whumpers complaining to each other about how much weapons/handcuffs/etc cost now because of how many people are using them

Here I am back at it again with the Boueibu food analyses //bricked
I’ve been staring at the Melon Monster for years, trying to unpack what “the melon was just playing melon” and “melons are tops” meant because it’s definitely interesting wording, but nothing was coming up… until I came across a collection of articles and videos talking about the Yubari King Melon, a hybrid cantaloupe that has been specifically cultivated for its desired traits and is subsequently considered “the best melon” in Japan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be considered a top-grade melon, one must be perfectly round and have an exceptionally smooth rind. Upon harvest, part of the stem is left on top to add to its aesthetic appeal. [x]
Hmmmm don’t you look familiar!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the Melon Monster alludes to, the Japanese fruit industry is an interesting rabbit hole to fall down, but this video offers a pretty good insight into the Yubari melon specifically.
According to this article, the Prince melon was developed in Japan and first sold in 1961, gaining immediate popularity in average households due to its low price. On the opposite end of the melon spectrum, the Yubari melon (developed in 1951) is exclusively grown in Yubari, Hokkaido and is so expensive it is considered a luxury fruit, which is in no small part due to its limited availability each year and sought after sweetness/aroma. Yubari melons are often given as gifts to show appreciation during the summer gift-giving season Ochugen and there are annual auctions where pairs of these melons regularly sell for millions of yen.
Furthermore, according to another article I found, the history of melons in Japan goes all the way back to the Makuwa (oriental melon), which Uriya gets his name from and which allegedly came to Japan during the Yayoi period (3rd century BC to 3rd century) via China. How prestigious! That certainly explains the choice of costume and no wonder the poor Melon Monster remarks that his existence is anachronistic when told by his peers that melon is just another fruit nowadays!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here he is, trying his best to be a Yubari melon, cherry-picking what he thinks are his best and most interesting traits in an attempt to meet the expectations of others around him as someone with value, and the Battle Lovers immediately curb stomp every single one of his efforts by not only outsmarting him in the most effortless way possible (using the internet to solve his riddles and surviving his traps as though they were a children's obstacle course) but mistaking him for a common melon. The melon (Makuwa) was only playing melon… playing at something he could never hope to be… pretending that anyone could ever see value in him. But he is only an ordinary melon, so why would anyone go the extra mile for that?
[With this in mind, I feel like this monster must have sprung into existence as a result of a conversation about the popularity of melons similar to the origin of the Chikuwabu Monster (many thanks again to @intra-fiducia for the wonderful translations!! <3). XD]
On a side note, I wrote briefly about the paulownia box being a representation of how Uriya is trapped by his own anxieties and self-consciousness in his attempt to meet everyone’s expectations, but I didn’t realize that sometimes the gift of melon is delivered very cutely in one. So there’s an extra layer to that line about no longer needing to stay in one! Melon can be enjoyed in many forms and varieties, like the Battle Lovers said! He doesn’t have to be the best because the people who like melon pan, melon soda, and shaved ice will like him just the same for what he already is.

Contrast
Meaghan McRae
from the website: This piece is part of our 2024 annual Charity Bentwood Boxes auction running from November 23rd to December 7th.
"Visually, one of my favourite things as an artist is an object or image with very high contrast in it’s colouring or lighting. I tend to lean towards this same style when making my jewellery. I like shapes that pop and are dynamic along with the high contrast of going from very light to very dark with one piece. When carving metal each cut I make creates a surface to refract light, giving me the lighter side of the high contrast spectrum I'm after. Once worn against clothing or the wearer’s hair as a backdrop, the outline of the pendant or earring I choose to cut gives me the darker side of the high contrast spectrum. Along with other techniques like hatching to catch light and cross hatching to create darker spaces, everything is taken into consideration to achieve the visually striking look I'm after.
When I was asked to decorate this bentwood box, I knew from the start of that I wanted my design to involve a sun. I also knew I wanted some type of story or action involved. I decided to go with the element of a surprise. From the outside the viewer can see a bold copper sun on the top of the box. Down the four sides are split U’s representing the light radiating outwards from the sun and pushing the dark away. A curious viewer would be invited to open the box to reveal a silver moon and a galaxy of stars floating inside the box.
I have titled this bentwood box “Contrast”. That name can be taken as simply a literal meaning to the visual difference between light and dark and my own personal exploration in design as an artist. But I would also hope viewers would think about the light and dark phases of our own lives and that one cannot exist without the other. I would invite the viewer to expand their definitions of light and dark. “Light” does not necessarily equate to good and “Dark” does not necessarily equate to bad. Over the years, I’ve come to learn that even though it may not feel like it in the moment this contrast of phases in our lives, overall, actually does end up creating a larger sense of balance. Balance found in contrast."

Hi, I’m a writer with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
My name is Cringe. I use vi/vir/virs pronouns but I also use they/he/she for those who don’t fw neos.
My name is Aster. I use they/them pronouns. I’m the current host of our DID system the Cosmic Collective.
As we write this post, Aster and I are co-conscious so you can tell who is talking by the color of the text.
I’m green, they’re blue.
Cringe likes to write one project and one project only at a time. Vi doesn’t move on to another story until vi finishes the first one vir working on.
Aster has 30 different stories they’re writing all at the same time. They go where the inspiration takes them and they’re a perfectionist so they tend to edit as they write as well.
Unlike Cringe who just word vomits onto the page.
Vi has a talent that I find to be really awesome. I’m impressed by their ability to write thousands of words per day for one project at a time.
Vi is working on a Cookie Run fanfic rn. (Sapphire/Silverbell, vampire AU, illegal auction rescue trope). Over the course of the last 9 days, vi has written upwards of 15k words. Averaging 2-3k per day.
Which to me is wild. I can barely make it to 1k each month or so.
I dunno I just get in the zone. It’s the autism idk.
Ah yes, the ADHD & Austism duo lol. We are AuDHD and it’s really fascinating to experience as a system because while we are all AuDHD, our symptoms, presentation, and where we land on the spectrum varies wildly alter to alter.
That aside, Aster has a main project they’re working on which is an original episodic story called Ghostly Encounters of the Fourth Kind (GEFK).
It’s about an Arch-Demon who’s scared of ghosts and a human with DID who can’t see ghosts who go ghost hunting for their YouTube channel.
Once I finish my current fic, I’ll probably finish my second fic waiting in the wings but I also plan on helping Aster write GEFK. So I don’t know which of the two projects I’ll do next.
I rly hope it’s GEFK… I need help…
We’ll see.
A lot of our writing reflects our experiences and reality living with the comorbidity of ADHD, Autism, CPTSD, and all the other health issues that trifecta + DID creates for us.
We hope you like our writing! And we hope we can make connections with likeminded fans and writers in the community.

Ok, so thanks to the upcoming auction we can finally see some additional info about our number one boy!
1. Date of birth - 18.12.1980!
Tumblr media
It doesn't fit the birthday episode, but on the other hand, how funny and matching it would be if Kendall would throw his 40th birthday on some entirely other day and month, because he never liked the fact that his birthday is so close to Christmas?
Also 1980 changes the whole succession spectrum, because Ken's birthday would need to be in 2020, changing my whole theory of show ending in the end of 2019 🤯 thoughts?
2. INSEAD confirmed, but also Harvard - someone from US maybe would have the theory on that? How would it correspond? He finished Harvard with MBA and then got EMBA? No, because he finished insead in 2005, and got BA in 2001... Help!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Magna cum laude, smart cookie. Graduated in 2001.
Tumblr media
And award for Rava and Ken... 💔 Heart research... Makes sense!

ROLE IN SCOTLAND
The Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs (SCSC) is an organisation that represents many prominent clan chiefs and Chiefs of the Name and Arms in Scotland. It claims to be the primary and most authoritative source of information on the Scottish clan system. In the Commonwealth of Nations, a high commissioner is the senior diplomat, generally ranking as an ambassador, in charge of the diplomatic mission of one Commonwealth government to another. Instead of an embassy, the diplomatic mission is generally called a high commission.[1] Chief of Mission is also the title of the team manager of a national delegation in major international multi-discipline sporting events, such as the Olympic Games.[3] The Royal Scots Navy (or Old Scots Navy) was the navy of the Kingdom of Scotland from its origins in the Middle Ages until its merger with the Kingdom of England's Royal Navy per the Acts of Union 1707. There are mentions in Medieval records of fleets commanded by Scottish kings in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. King Robert I (1274–1329, r. 1306–1329) developed naval power to counter the English in the Wars of Independence (1296–1328).

MARINE MILITARY SCIENCE
Pythagorean Military
A + B = C
Commando + Brigade = 12 Teams of 500
Tactical Thinking + Operational Thinking = Mission Intelligence ex. Amphibious or Shore; Mountain or Jungle Warfare
Aquatic Training + Land Skills = Marine Black Ops
Carbines + Machete = CQB and Melee
Divine language, the language of the gods, or, in monotheism, the language of God (or angels), is the concept of a mystical or divine proto-language, which predates and supersedes human speech. Fon was a highly militaristic language constantly organised for warfare; it captured captives during wars and raids against neighboring societies. Tactics such as covering fire, frontal attacks and flanking movements were used in the warfare of Fon. The military of Fon was divided into two units: the right and the left. The right was controlled by the migan and the left was controlled by the mehu. There is an effort to create a machine translator for Fon (to and from French), by Bonaventure Dossou (from Benin) and Chris Emezue (from Nigeria).[14] Their project is called FFR.[15] It uses phrases from Jehovah's Witnesses sermons as well as other biblical phrases as the research corpus to train a Natural Language Processing (NLP) neural net model.[16] A brigade is a major tactical military formation that typically comprises three to six battalions plus supporting elements. It is roughly equivalent to an enlarged or reinforced regiment. Two or more brigades may constitute a division. Brigades formed into divisions are usually infantry or armored (sometimes referred to as combined arms brigades). In addition to combat units, they may include combat support units or sub-units, such as artillery and engineers, and logistic units. Historically, such brigades have been called brigade-groups. On operations, a brigade may comprise both organic elements and attached elements, including some temporarily attached for a specific task. Close-quarters battle (CQB), also called close-quarters combat (CQC), is a close combat situation between multiple combatants involving ranged (typically firearm-based) or melee combat. Special operations or special ops are military activities conducted, according to NATO, by "specially designated, organized, selected, trained, and equipped forces using unconventional techniques and modes of employment."[1] Special operations may include reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, and counterterrorism, and are typically conducted by small groups of highly trained personnel, emphasizing sufficiency, stealth, speed, and tactical coordination, commonly known as special forces. A black operation (black op for short) is a covert operation which is done by a government or military. Black operations are secret and whoever does them does not admit that they ever happened.[1] There are differences between black operations and ones which are just secret. The main difference is that a black operation often uses deception. This deception might be not telling anybody who did the operation. It might also be blaming the operation on someone else ("false flag" operations).[2][3] Marines (or naval infantry) are military personnel generally trained to operate on both land and sea, with a particular focus on amphibious warfare. Historically, the main tasks undertaken by marines have included raiding ashore (often in support of naval objectives) and the boarding of vessels during ship-to-ship combat or capture of prize ships. Suppressive Forts Defense and Partisan Raid for Sabotage Offense.
Spiritual warfare is the Christian concept of fighting against the work of preternatural evil forces. It is based on the belief in evil spirits, or demons, that are said to intervene in human affairs in various ways.[1]
Harmony and Contrast Guerilla Warfare: Raiding, also known as depredation, is a military tactic or operational warfare "smash and grab" mission which has a specific purpose. Raiders do not capture and hold a location, but quickly retreat to a previous defended position before enemy forces can respond in a coordinated manner or formulate a counter-attack. Raiders must travel swiftly and are generally too lightly equipped and supported to be able to hold ground. A raiding group may consist of combatants specially trained in this tactic, such as commandos, or as a special mission assigned to any regular troops.[1] Raids are often a standard tactic in irregular warfare, employed by warriors, guerrilla fighters or other irregular military forces. A partisan is a member of a domestic irregular military force formed to oppose control of an area by a foreign power or by an army of occupation by some kind of insurgent activity. Sabotage is a deliberate action aimed at weakening a polity, government, effort, or organization through subversion, obstruction, demoralization, destabilization, division, disruption, or destruction. One who engages in sabotage is a saboteur. Saboteurs typically try to conceal their identities because of the consequences of their actions and to avoid invoking legal and organizational requirements for addressing sabotage. (Sabotage Partisan Raid)
Harmony and Contrast Siege Warfare: A siege (Latin: sedere, lit. 'to sit')[1] is a military blockade of a city, or fortress, with the intent of conquering by attrition, or by well-prepared assault. Siege warfare (also called siegecrafts or poliorcetics) is a form of constant, low-intensity conflict characterized by one party holding a strong, static, defensive position. Consequently, an opportunity for negotiation between combatants is common, as proximity and fluctuating advantage can encourage diplomacy. A fortification (also called a fort, fortress, fastness, or stronghold) is a military construction designed for the defense of territories in warfare, and is used to establish rule in a region during peacetime. The term is derived from Latin fortis ("strong") and facere ("to make").[1] In military science, suppressive fire is "fire that degrades the performance of an enemy force below the level needed to fulfill its mission"[clarification needed]. When used to protect exposed friendly troops advancing on the battlefield, it is commonly called covering fire. Suppression is usually only effective for the duration of the fire.[1] It is one of three types of fire support, which is defined by NATO as "the application of fire, coordinated with the maneuver of forces, to destroy, neutralise or suppress the enemy". (Forts and Suppressive fire)
Operational And Tactical Thinking: Operational intelligence is real time, or near real-time intelligence, often derived from technical means, and delivered to ground troops engaged in activity against the adversary. Operational intelligence is immediate, and has a short time to live (TTL). Tactical Thinking of or relating to tactics, especially the placement of military or naval forces in battle or at the front line of a battle. characterized by skillful tactics or adroit maneuvering or procedure, especially of military or naval forces: tactical movements.

DRUGS AND CRIME NEXUS
First, the ‘psychopharmacological model’ argues that certain drugs may produce irrational, excitable, or violent behaviour in an individual. Many benzodiazepines are also likely to produce dependency in a regular user (Marshall & Longnecker 1992; Rall, 1992), and withdrawal from benzodiazepines has been associated with severe mood swings, irritability and personality changes (Marshall & Longnecker, 1992; Rall, 1992). In addition, use of benzodiazepines has been implicated in disinhibited behaviour (Bonn & Bonn 1998; Dobbin 2001; Rall 1992). Further, Makkai (2002) and Goldstein (1985) reported that some offenders use certain drugs purposely to reduce their fear of committing a crime, while Dobbin (2001) reported that benzodiazepine intoxication can produce feelings of over-confidence and invincibility in users, causing them to commit offences they would not normally undertake. Goldstein (1985) suggests that the incidence of psychopharmacological violence is impossible to assess, because such incidents may occur anywhere (including in the home, workplace, on the street and so on) and often go unreported, and also because when cases are reported the psychopharmacological state of the offender is often not officially recorded. The second model of the link between drugs and violence, the ‘economic compulsive’ model, argues that some drug users commit violent crimes, such as armed robberies, to support an expensive drug habit (Goldstein 1985), consistent with the enslavement model of property crime (Goode 1997). Theoretically, as illicit drugs are expensive and may be typified by compulsive patterns of use, the primary motivation of the user is to obtain money to purchase them. Thus, the violence is not usually intended, but occurs as a result of the situation where a property crime is being committed, such as the offender’s nervousness, the victim’s reaction, use of weapons by perpetrator or victim, or intercession by bystanders (Goldstein 1985). Studies have found that most 6 Benzodiazepine and pharmaceutical opiod misuse and their relationship to crime heroin users will avoid violent acquisitive crime if viable non-violent alternatives exist, because violence is more dangerous and also potentially increases the penalty if caught, and/or because perpetrators may lack a tendency towards violent behaviour (Goldstein 1985). In relation to violent crime, three models have also been put forward that may suggest implications for evaluating potential interventions aimed at reducing drug-related crime.
Abstract
Personality disorders and particularly antisocial personality disorders (APD) are quite frequent in opioid-dependent subjects. They show various personality traits: high neuroticism, high impulsivity, higher extraversion than the general population. Previous studies have reported that some but not all personality traits improved with treatment. In a previous study, we found a low rate of APD in a French population of opioid-dependent subjects. For this reason, we evaluated personality traits at intake and during maintenance treatment with methadone. Methods - The form A of the Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) was given to opioid addicts at intake and after 6 and 12 months of methadone treatment. Results - 134 subjects (96 males and 38 females) took the test at intake, 60 completed 12 months of treatment. After 12 months, the EPI Neuroticism (N) and the Extraversion-introversion (E) scale scores decreased significantly. The N score improved in the first 6 months, while the E score improved only during the second 6 months of treatment. Compared to a reference group of French normal controls, male and female opioid addicts showed high N and E scores. Demographic data and EPI scores of patients who stayed in treatment for 12 months did not differ significantly from those of dropouts (n=23). Patients with a history of suicide attempts (SA) started to use heroin at an earlier age and they showed a higher E score and a tendency for a higher N score at intake. Discussion - The two personality dimensions of the EPI changed during MMT, and the N score converged towards the score of normal controls. Opioid addicts differ from normal controls mostly in their N score. The EPI did not help to differentiate 12-month completers from dropouts. Higher E scores in patients with an SA history might reflect a higher impulsivity, which has been linked to suicidality in other patient groups.
Personality
So called 'benzo binges' have been associated with shoplifting and other crimes. Patients may also experience paradoxical excitement with increased anxiety, insomnia, talkativeness, restlessness, mania, and occasionally rage and violent behaviour (known as the 'Rambo effect').
High doses are also associated with a puzzling complication known as the “Rambo effect.” This unusual side effect occurs when a Xanax user begins displaying behaviors that are very unlike them. This might include aggression, promiscuity, or theft. It’s not clear why some people react this way or how to predict if it will happen to you.
Despite the fully legal status of several common deliriant plants and OTC medicines, deliriants are largely unpopular as recreational drugs due to the severe dysphoria, uncomfortable and generally damaging cognitive and physical effects, as well as the unpleasant nature of the hallucinations.
Deliriants are a subclass of hallucinogen. The term was coined in the early 1980s to distinguish these drugs from psychedelics such as LSD and dissociatives such as ketamine, due to their primary effect of causing delirium, as opposed to the more lucid (i.e. rational thought is preserved better, including the skepticism about the hallucinations) and less disturbed states produced by other types of hallucinogens.[1] The term generally refers to anticholinergic drugs, which are substances that inhibit the function of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.[1]
The systematic name (IUPAC) is [1R-(exo,exo)] -3-(benzoyloxy)-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2. 1]octane-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester. Cocaine is the methyl ester of benzoylecgonine and is also known as 3β-hydroxy-1αH,5α-H-tropane-2β-carboxylic acid methyl ester benzoate.
Specifically, the carbonyl oxygens and amine group on cocaine, on average, form ∼5 bonds with the water molecules in the surrounding solvent, and the top 30% of water molecules within 4 Å of cocaine are localized in the cavity formed by an internal hydrogen bond within the cocaine molecule.
