BlacKkKlansman (2018)
Directed by Spike Lee and produced by Jordan Peele, this biographical crime film is based on the true story of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American police officer who ran a sting operation in which he went undercover to infiltrate the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan.
John David Washington (real-life son of Denzel Washington) plays Ron Stallworth while the supporting cast includes: Adam Driver as Jewish colleague Philip “Flip” Zimmerman, Laura Harrier (aka Liz in Spider-Man: Homecoming) as civil rights activist Patrice Dumas, Topher Grace as KKK Grand Wizard (and National Director) David Duke and Paul Walter Hauser as KKK member Ivanhoe. Alec Baldwin and actor/activist Harry Belafonte have special cameo appearances as segregationist Professor Kennebrew Beauregard and Jerome Turner (who claims to have witnessed the 1916 lynching of Jesse Washington), respectively.
John David Washington delivers a knockout performance as a real-life detective who sets out to make a difference by working his way up the ranks to expose the looming threat of the KKK. Adam Driver is notably outstanding in the role of a trusty partner. Laura Harrier’s character is somewhat fictional (though possibly based on Angela Davis), but she definitely gives a swell performance as president of the Black Student Union. Topher Grace is arguably one heck of a performer as a white supremacist. At the same time, his cartoonish portrayal of a treacherous racist is entirely different from his version of Eddie Brock/Venom (a fictional antagonist) in Spider-Man 3. That’s another story, but trust me, if you were to watch both his villainous characters simultaneously, you’d know what I mean.
The movie blends satirical humor within a heavily dramatized storyline of racism at its worst. Some examples include Ron receiving offensive slurs during his first day on the job in the records room and Flip almost having to take a lie detector test to prove he’s an all-white American to the KKK.
In terms of observing the motivation of each character, Ron wants to give his support to the liberation of the Black community. However, he strongly believes in law and order, hence he hides his authority from Patrice, who only believes in the Black Power movement after being sexually assaulted by a racist cop. Furthermore, Ron masquerades as a white person over the phone to fool the KKK, sending Flip to meet the Klan in person. Flip (who doesn’t fully acknowledge his Jewish heritage) is willing to “get his skin in the game” out of respect and admiration for Black people. Meanwhile, David Duke plots to fight for an all-white nation across America to maintain white superiority over racial equality.
The story is also based on the memoir Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth, set in 1970s Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interestingly, the movie, which serves as a wake-up call to what’s happening nowadays in the real world, draws a parallel between racism of the 20th century and recent political injustices of the Trump regime. The Civil Rights Movement may have been successful at one point in the past thanks to Martin Luther King Jr., but the Klan managed to form an invisible empire that would eventually take action during Donald Trump’s presidency, specifically when white supremacists began to reemerge as a way to “Make America Great Again”. Overall, the movie won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The movie even contains some film history references. A clip from Gone with the Wind is shown in the beginning and is occasionally mentioned. The Blaxploitation genre originated in the early ‘70s and is debated by Ron and Patrice in one scene. Footage of the 1915 silent film The Birth of a Nation is depicted, which inspired the rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan to begin with. Both those epic movies are a reminder of the way cinema used to exploit Black people back in the old days. Blaxploitation movies were inconsistent because, despite the empowerment of Black celebrities at the time, they emphasized damaging stereotypes as well. On the other hand, thanks to the groundbreaking direction of Spike Lee, this particular biopic makes it clear how important it is for us to hear what African-Americans have to say in order to live in peace and harmony.
On that note, the ultimate message of the film is to put a stop to civil disorder and unite to prevent America from being pushed to the brink of chaos. While I recommend this movie, I’d like to say that everyone deserves an equal chance.

Behind the scenes of The new film called SpiderWoman
All of the cast members from Pitch Perfect 2 and the actors who play the villains from the Spider man films they were talking with the Pitch Perfect 2 cast also Robert Downey Jr. was there too when the Director crew was ready for Hailee and Robert.
“Hailee and Robert we are ready to film the argument between you both.” Elizabeth said to them they both nodded.
When director crew help Hailee put on her SpiderWoman suit without the mask once the suit was on Hailee was ready and crew lowered the green screen this scene is like from the film of Spider man homecoming and Robert is in his Iron man suit.
“Good luck Hailee, you can do this.” Anna Kendrick says to Hailee.
“Thanks.”
“Okay everyone quiet on set.” Elizabeth replies.
The camera starts rolling and Hailee and Robert started acting while the camera was recording them when Hailee was sitting at the edge of a building but when Iron man flies over to her.
“I tell you to stay away from this. Instead, you hacked a multimillion dollar suit so you could sneak around behind my back doing the one thing I told you not to do.” Robert says while acting.
“Is everyone okay?” Hailee responded while acting.
“No thanks to you.” Robert replies while acting.
“No thanks to me?” Hailee said while acting.
Hailee jumps off the edge and approaches Robert.
“Those weapons were out there, and I tried to tell you about it. But you didn’t listen. None of this would’ve happened if you had just listened to me. If you even cared, you’d actually be here.”
The Iron man suit opens, revealing Tony inside. He steps down from the suit and marches towards Emily, who backs off.
“I did listen, kid. Who do you think called the FBI, huh? Do you know that I was the only one who believed in you? Everyone else said I was crazy to recruit a 14 year old kid.” Robert says in character.
“I’m fifteen.” Hailee replies in character.
“No, this is where you zip it, all right? The adult is talking. What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right? ‘Cause that’s on you. And if you died, I feel like that’s on me. I don’t need that on my conscience.” Robert said in character.
“Yes, sir.” Hailee says in character.
“Yes.”
“I, I’m sorry.” Hailee replies in character.
“Sorry doesn’t cut it.” Robert responded in character.
“I understand. I just wanted to be like you.”
“And I wanted you to be better. Okay, it’s not working out. I’m gonna need the suit back.” Robert says in character.
“For how long?” Hailee said in character.
“Forever.” Robert answered in character.
Emily shakes her head with a shocked expression.
“Yeah. Yeah, that’s how it works.”
“No, no, no… Please, please, please…” Hailee says in character.
“Let’s have it.” Robert replies in character.
“You don’t understand. Please. This is all I have. I’m nothing without this suit.” Hailee answered in character.
“If you’re nothing without this suit, then you shouldn’t have it. Okay? God, I sound like my dad.” Robert said in character.
“I don’t have any other clothes.” Hailee replies in character.
“Okay, we’ll sort that out.”
“And Cut!” Elizabeth yells.
Elizabeth turned off the camera to take a quick break but when Hailee went towards everyone so they all told her she was amazing shooting that scene.

Okay guys I apologize in advance for this long post. If you read any part of it, thank you so much! I’m not sharing this to brag in any way at all. I won a Spidey contest and it was one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me and I really wanted to share with you guys <3
So a couple weeks ago I got a message from Regal Movies saying I won their Spider-Man Homecoming contest for an autographed shirt and poster. I COULDN’T BELIEVE MY EYES OMG. Like I have never won anything like this before; to this scale. In the past when I enter contest I usually freak out and stress over it, praying that I win. But with this one I didn’t want to stress over it and end up upset, so I honestly forgot about it. Not because I didn’t really want to win (because I really really did want to win), but I just didn’t want to feel that sadness of not winning. I feel like you some of you will know what I mean. I tried not to make it a huge deal, all the way up until I got it in the mail. There was still a little part of me that thought it could be a hoax or it would get lost in the mail or something. I just didn’t want to get my hopes up the entire time. So when they finally came in the mail I couldn’t believe it. I got the shirt in the mail first, two days ago and that was so surreal.
So before I get ahead of myself, I just want to mention that I didn’t know what the prize was exactly going to be like. All regal said was “FOLLOW us & RT for a chance to win a signed Spider-Man poster & signed Tom Holland t-shirt!” There was a picture with it so I knew it was the “If You Believe in Telekinesis…” shirt which I was STOKED about because I saw Tom say in an interview that that was his favorite funny shirt from the movie. But I thought it was just a new shirt that they like got just for him to sign for the contest (if that makes any sense). And there wasn’t a distinction on who signed the poster, but I could see multiple autographs in the pic.
Anyways when I got the shirt and pulled it out of the packaging, I noticed that the words were kind of faded and I was like wait what? Then I saw there was a certificate with it, but at this point it was like I forgot to read. I was like wait did he wear this..? WAIT WAIT WHAT!!!!  I was mentally freaking out that I couldn’t properly read what it said. Like I got a part of it and that’s what continued to make me freak out. It was so cute how excited my family was too, they helped me read it during my freak out. We then realized that it was one of the shirts that TOM FREAKING HOLLAND ACTUALLY WORE TO FILM THE MOVIE LIKE WHATT. It’s one of the several that he wore to film the movie and I couldn’t freaking believe that. GUYS HE WORE THAT SHIRT LIKE WHAT THE HECK. I can’t even. And omg guys he is TINY, like I gathered that from pictures but omg this shirt is small! When my mom saw it she was all like, “oh my gosh he is so tiny!” like omg it was so adorable.
Then the next day (yesterday) I got the poster and O. M. G.
So I thought it was going to be rolled up and come in like one of those poster tubes… NOPE. it came in a HUGE FRAME!!! It was bigger than I imagined it would be and it wasn’t just signed by Tom. Which he is my fave and I would be so stoked with just his autograph but the director and the cast signed it. The QUEEN, Zendaya and BFF Jacob…Jon Watts! GUYS FREAKING ROBERT DOWNEY JR. SIGNED IT!!!! LIKE WHAT THE HECK!!
This is just proof that if you have low expectations, it’s even MORE amazing. Like Christina and I fangirled so freaking hard over this guys. She was so sweet, and so happy that I won and I was so happy to share the experience with her. That’s honestly why I want to share it with you guys! I know you are all fans of Tom and Spidey and I just wanted to share the excitement with you all <3 I hope you guys don’t think I am bragging at all, because I don’t want to seem like that at all! I freaking love you guys!! I am so grateful for everything  you guys do and love doing this journey with you guys!!!!!! I seriously can not tell you guys how much I love you or share how grateful I am!!! If you read this far or any of this long sappy post thank you so much for taking time from your day to do so!! <3

Not to be a bitter bitch but they really couldn't let Spider Man: Into the Spider Verse be out just a month before shoving p*ter p*rker down our throats again. Turns out I'm still angry about mcu pp and I have seen way too much itsp pp and not nearly enough Miles content, AS IT'S HIS MOVIE!!!!!! I'm sorry for being upset but Miles is one of my favorite comic book characters and one of the first comics I read. And it kills me that he doesn't get enough love and respect as he rightly deserves!

Hello there! I read every new chapter of the Identity saga religiously and every time I’m stunned by your flawless characterizarion of each Avenger. Like damn. The way they talk, they think, their reactions… you nailed every single one of them. So questions: who is the hardest character to write for you? The easiest? Is there an Avenger you particularly like to put yourself in their shoes? Thanks for your amazing work and have a good day. - A big French fan.
Awwwwww!!! I'm blushing so hard -- thank you so much!! A fanfic writers biggest compliment is hearing that they write the characters well, so this means just means oh so much to me!
Tumblr media
The easiest Avenger for me to write is, surprisingly enough, Clint Barton. I was actually having this very conversation with my friends the other day -- I like to pride myself in staying pretty well in tune with all the MCU characters, their personalities traits, the things they say and how they talk -- but I will ALWAYS write Clint Barton "out of character" in comparison to how he is in the MCU.
And that's because, with all due respect, Clint Barton in the MCU is a soggy piece of cardboard.
In my eyes, he's the worst cast character, and when I see him on screen I think "Oh look, it's Jeremy Renner playing Generic Action Hero #4." And sure, they gave him a little more personality in the Hawkeye show, and even (finally) made him canonically deaf...but it just doesn't do it for me. If I were to write my Clint like the MCU, I feel it'd be the most boring thing of all. It wouldn't add anything to the scene, and when I write my scenes, I strive to make sure EVERY character adds something to the moment. They exist for purpose, not just to be there. MCU Clint always just seems like he's...there for the sake of being there.
So most of my inspiration for Clint comes from the comic book Clint Barton. I think that shows heavily in a lot of scenes. When I think of (my) Clint Barton, I think of scenes like this:
——————
“It’s not that great,” Sam huffed, all but pouting.
Clint, sucking the helium out of one of the nearby balloons, managed a high-pitch, “It’s delicious and you know it.”
Natasha rolled her eyes. “Keep that up and you’ll kill what little brain cells you have left.”
Clint, deadpanned, sucked in another breath of helium, looking her dead-square in the eyes as he responded, “Maybe then I can actually retire for good, vegetable or not.”
————
Compared to moments like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You just don't get that from MCU Clint.

Hardest character to write?
Believe it or not...
Peter Parker.
Specifically — MCU, Gen Z, 16yr old, reckless Peter Parker. I think a LOT of that has to do with the fact that prior to Homecoming, my Spider-man fanfictions were focused and centered around an adult Peter Parker. I spent so long writing the Raimi Peter and TASMMarc Webb Peter. A much older, "wiser" Peter Parker. So when I went to start Identity Theft, I actually cracked open my Ultimate Spider-Man comic-books and worked hard to re-wire my head back to that "teen Peter" mindset I loved so much as a kid. I had to work to get my head away from that "with great power, comes great responsibility" Peter Parker and focus more on the stumbling, awkward, clueless kid who just so happened to have superpowers and was finding themselves surrounded by other superpower adults trying to help him along the way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I ended up so deep in this character focus on young Peter Parker that when I went to watch No Way Home, I was thrown off by how Peter was suddenly an adult. The entire time I watched it I was like "wait, no. He's baby. I'm confused." 🤣
Also, there's the whole "I'm 14 years removed from being 16 and can barely remember what it's like" part. It's somewhat difficult to put myself in that mindset. At times it makes me feel old trying to write a 16yr old 😅
Lastly, an Avenger of whom I like to put myself in their shoes...
I think I'd have to say Natasha. She's another character I don't feel I write completely in-character. She definitely has OOC traits to her, specifically the maternal aspects. I loved how the movies took her desire for a family and expanded on it (one of the only good things about Endgame) and I like using that in my own stories. She has a deep love for her found family, because like myself, she doesn't have blood family left. So those who she has managed to let into her life, and let get close to her, she'd do anything for. I like writing that play out with Peter. She's gotten close to him, and the underlying subtext is somewhat "she may not be able to have kids, but she found herself having a kid anyway"
This was a fantastically fun question to answer, Annie! Thank you so much! I'm so incredibly happy you've enjoyed the saga thus far, and I'm excited to keep rolling out what's to come. Thank you for your support, your love, and your dedication to the work as it slowly comes together. It's amazing readers like you that bury yourselves deep in my heart and give me the strength to keep going on, even when little voices in my head tell me to quit. I love you and wish nothing but good things for you to come!

For your first time being in a movie, you’ve hit the jackpot. Not many people can say that their very first project in the movie industry was with Marvel Studios. You’ve been lucky enough to be casted in Spider-Man: Far From Home, playing Amelia James, a classmate of Peter but was from another universe. Though that last part wasn’t established yet.
You were currently at Capital FM’s studios doing an interview with Roman Kemp, someone who you were very familiar with. Accompanying you were your cast mates, Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya. You lot were currently on the press tour promoting the movie that was only days away from premiering in London. You were all laughing at Tom who has been retelling a story of him getting punched on set.
Though you’ve only met him a few months ago, you felt as if you’ve known the charming man since forever. A fond smile was set on your lips as you watched him talk animatedly into the mic. You felt a nudge beside you. Turning, you see Zendaya smirking at you. She’s caught on at how you looked at Tom, always teasing how when either of you looked at each other, your eyes would turn into beating hearts.
You playfully roll your eyes and nudge her back. Your attention is diverted from her when Roman calls on you, “I’ve been wanting to mention this from the beginning, but it’s odd to see you without the girls in the studio.”
You nod chuckling, “I know! I actually feel weird not having them with me here because I’m so used to doing everything with them.”
“How was that like? I know you girls are genuinely close in real life, so how was it being away from them for so long?” Roman asked you.
“Honestly, I felt a bit anxious not having them by my side all the time. I hate not being with them because they’re like my safety blanket.” You explained. On your other side, you saw Tom frown at you.
You quickly add, “Not that I’m having a horrible time with you guys, it’s just that I miss them a lot. Like I don’t have Jesy beside me to make jokes with or Perrie to mother me around, you know?”
“She’s lying, she can’t wait to leave us. We’re horrible.” Tom jokes looking at you with that cheeky grin of his. You sigh swatting his arm, “That’s completely false, I loved working with these guys.”
“Have the girls visited you on set?” You tilt your head in thought.
“Well—not really. We’re busy working on our sixth album so everyone’s been at the studio here in London. But we have called each other on FaceTime and texted almost everyday, so we were always in contact even when I was away.” You answered fiddling with the hem of your dress. Tom has known you long enough and been in many interviews with you to know that the gesture was something when you felt nervous. Discreetly, he inches his hand closer to yours under the table until his large palm rests atop your hand. You look at him and flash him a smile before turning back to Roman.
Roman continues with his questions, “I know the girls are very supportive, but what was their reaction when you told them you were gonna be in a movie?”
You feel Tom’s hand squeeze yours and you couldn’t help the smile that makes it’s way to your lips. “They were so supportive and excited. I was actually reluctant about accepting the role, but they literally pushed me to do it and I’m so glad they did. I’m truly blessed to have them in my life.”
“Yeah, thank God for Little Mix, or else we would have never met (y/n).” Jacob says into his mic. Zendaya let’s out a “YES!”, high fiving her friend in agreement. You laugh at the two’s antics.
“Aren’t you glad they pushed you to take the role? Now you have us in your life.” Tom proudly states smirking at you.
“No, it’s actually worse now because you’re in it.” You tease him. Tom gasps and placed his free hand to his heart.
“I actually made it harder for myself because I told him some stuff about the new album and now I’m just nervous he’s going to spill something. Then I’m gonna be in trouble.” You go on to explain. Z shakes her head at you, “I told you not to tell him anything.”
Tom perks up and leans forward to glare at her, “Excuse me? I’m capable of keeping a secret, for your information.” He sassily tells her. You and Z burst out laughing at the man in beside you.
“Ok, so are we just going to ignore the fact that you were about to post a video of me in the studio recording a new song?” You question him. Tom was about to speak but Jacob beat him to it.
“I swear if it weren’t for me or Daya, you would’ve been responsible for leaking a song.” Jacob pointed out. Tom huffed out slumping himself into his chair.
“I just can’t catch a break can I?” He asks rhetorically looking at the ceiling. Roman smiles at the four of you, “Obviously from the energy in this room, you guys all seem to get along.”
“Everyone except for Tom.” Z mumbles under her breath. Roman snickers before continuing, “How was it like working with each other? Especially for you (y/n) because you’re the newbie of the group.”
“I mean for me, it was nice to work with everyone again. These guys are my friends so it was like hanging out with them everyday with a side of working. (Y/n)’s part of the group now too, so even better, karaoke nights are gonna be lit.” Jacob answered first. You sent him a wink with finger guns, him doing the same thing to you.
“I’m just glad there’s more women in the group. Laura wasn’t in this one so we were one girl down, then (y/n) came and we just had an amazing time together. It was nice to get away from those two and all the stuff they’re up to.” Z gestured to Tom and Jacob. You loved both of them, but when they were bored they were always up to no good.
“This was my first movie, so I was really nervous to step foot onto set. I remember when we had our first table read and feeling so intimidated because everyone there were professionals and had experience. Meanwhile there’s me with zero experience at all trying to fit in with all these actors.” You answered with a slight chuckle. Tom hums beside you squeezing your hand once again.
“But everyone was so sweet and welcoming. From the crew to the cast, they’re a really great group to work with and I’d like to work with them again, if given the chance.” You finished off.
“You know, for your first movie, you did amazing.” Tom complimented you. Roman quickly swooped in, “Tom, I actually wanted to talk to you about something you said last time you were here.”
Tom looks at him confused, “What did I say?”
“How was it like to finally meet (y/n)? Last time you were on here you admitted t—.” Roman began to talk but Tom cut him off.
“ADMITTED TO LISTENING TO LITTLE MIX!” Tom yells over Roman. He has slightly gotten up from his seat and was making wild motions at Roman with his hand. Everyone shot Tom a look except for Roman who stared at him amused.
Roman shook his head, a cheeky grin on his face, “Not quite, mate.”
“Y-yes. I did admit to listening to them, Touch is my favorite song.” Tom said nervously, regretting that he mentioned Touch.
Roman snickered at Tom, “Well it definitely had something to do with Touch, you had a lot to say about—.” Tom cuts him off again.
“The visual effects.” You raise a brow at Tom.
“Tom, there were barely any effects in that music video.” You tell him. Tom glances at you with wide eyes before correcting himself, “The camera work was really good.”
“Are you good?” Z asks Tom squinting at him. Tom let go of your hand and rubbed his palms together, something he did to ease his nerves.
“I’m great, man.” Tom’s voice pitches as he adjusts himself in his seat. Roman stifles a laugh before turning to you.
“Tom’s admitted to fancying you.” He reveals. Your eyes widen as Jacob and Z have smirks plastered onto their faces.
“Oh? When was this?” You look between Roman and Tom. Tom was cringing at himself hiding behind his hands.
“This is cruel.” You hear him mutter.
“He was promoting Homecoming I think. Then we were playing Touch and Tom just went into a whole conversation about the band and you.” Roman answered, a shit eating from on his face.
Tom pops up from his hand, “You don’t have proof!”
Roman looks at him with a ‘seriously?’ kind of expression as he pulls up a video on the screen. Shaking his head at Tom, “Mate, it’s my radio show.”
Tom groans as he shoves his face behind his jacket.
“Oh this is good.” Z laughs leaning back to face the monitor on the wall.
“Shall we watch my evidence, everyone?” Roman presses play.
“Is Touch the only song you know from Little Mix?” Roman asked. Tom shook his head almost offended.
“No! I’m a big fan of them, I really enjoy their music. Shout Out To My Ex, Woman Like Me, Wasabi? Ugh!” Tom closes his eyes while doing a chef’s kiss, “I’m a man, but their music is so empowering, I love it.”
Roman teasingly smiled at Tom, “Do you fancy any of them?”
“Mate, you can’t ask me that. They’re all very beautiful.” A blush starts to form on Tom’s pale cheeks.
Roman continued to prob at Tom, “You really don’t fancy at least one of them the most?”
Tom shyly smiled looking around, “I mean, (y/n)’s always stood out for me, if I’m being honest. Not just cause of her looks, but I’ve watched her interviews and she seems like a really sweet and funny person. I find that very attracting about her.” He admits.
“Have you seen the Touch video yet? Everyone was raving about her in the video.”
“Oh I definitely have, maybe a few times. She looked stunning, as always.” He dreamily smiled into his palm.
“If she were to watch this, what would you like to say?” Roman asked him. Tom’s face dropped at the mention of you seeing his confession.
“I hope she doesn’t see this. She’s gonna think I’m weird or something. I just ruined my chances.”
The video cuts off and Tom is still hiding behind his jacket. Jacob’s mouth is agape as he looks at Tom, “Dude, you just got exposed.”
“Really Jacob? Have I been exposed?” Tom finally comes out from behind his jacket, face fully flushed in embarrassment. You pouted at him, feeling bad that he was embarrassed, but your heart felt all giddy inside at the fact that he fancies you.
Roman holds his hand out cautiously at Tom, “Now before you permanently hate me, your mate Harrison put me up to this. Something about payback for a prank?”
Tom’s jaw drops as he looks out the window of the booth. Outside Harrison and Harry are seen laughing there asses off with tears in their eyes. Tom curses under his breath. The room suddenly felt like an oven, his face was flushed, his palms were sweaty, and his heart rapidly beated against his chest. Mustering up his courage he looked at you.
“Hey, at least you know who my favorite Little Mix member is now?” He awkwardly shrugged. You smiled at him, cheeks flushed as well.
“I can’t believe you’re an actual fan though!” You say, trying to ease off the embarrassment off him.
“Uh—that’s what you got from the video?” Z asked from beside you. You glance at her real quick to give her a look. Of course you were thrilled that Tom reciprocated your feelings, but at the moment it looked as if he were gonna pop a blood vessel at how hard he was glaring at Harry and Harrison.
“Of course I’m a fan! Who wouldn’t be? You guys are phenomenal, I remember watching you guys at the BRITS when you performed Shout Out To My Ex, it was epic.” His attention immediately turns to you, his eyes softening once they meet yours.
You place a comforting hand on his arm, “Why didn’t you just tell me I was your favorite?”
“Because he has a crush on you.” Jacob states as if it were an obvious fact. Tom was about to protest when Z cuts him off, “Man, don’t even try. You already got exposed and you were never good at hiding your feelings in the first place.”
Roman’s eyes shift to look at each of you, “Did I just unintentionally successfully set two people up?”
You look at Roman and shrugged your shoulders at him nonchalantly, “I don’t know yet Roman, maybe if Tom agrees for dinner, then you could say you’ve successfully set two people up.”
“Oh that was smooth.”
Tom looks at you mouth agape since he couldn’t believe you just asked him out on a live radio show.
“What?” He asks in disbelief.
“I’m asking you out, Tom.” You chuckle, your thumb tracing patterns onto his arm. Tom looks around wide eyed and leans into you, “Is this for the movie?”
Everyone in the room groans except for you and Tom. Instead you roll your eyes at him and shake his shoulders. Moving to be in his view your eyes connect with his brown ones.
“Hi, Tom, honey? I’m asking you out for dinner, don’t make me regret doing this on live radio.” You tell him, slightly joking. His eyes glance down at your lips before they return to your eyes.
“Yes, yes, yes—please, I would love to have dinner with you.” He finally snaps out of his thoughts and a smile forms on his lips. You smile back at him and lean back into your seat, “Great, we could go out tonight.”
“Sounds good.” He nods leaning back into his chair. Tom tries to fight the smile on his lips but was unsuccessful. So he sits there, smiling like an idiot. Sure, he just got humiliated on air, but it was worth it since he left that studio with the girl of his dreams anticipating the night to come.

The sigh came from deep in your chest wanting to drop to the floor for an exhaustion induced nap, but an airport wasn’t the best place. Large sunglasses obscured people from seeing the deep bags under your eyes on the way to the film lot. It was coming full circle, the change different from the frantic schedule you had had recently. When Kenny called you hadn’t hesitated in packing and buying a ticket.
“Miss Y/L/N?” The voice pulled you from your thoughts as a man holding a card with your name displayed. He was of Puerto Rican descendent with a young girl beside him with similar features, “I’m Ricardo. This is my daughter Madison.”
“It’s nice to meet you. I’m-“
“Y/N Y/L/N.” Madison supplied with a beaming grin on her face having recognized you from your role as Sabrina in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina along with movies.
All you could do was send a fragile smile in response after a long sleepless flight to Canada.
Madison’s eyes saddened at the exhaustion you carried, “I can fangirl later. You looked really tired.”
“Kenny saw and asked me to come over the guise of help, but he knows I need a break. He’s lucky I don’t need to be on set for a few weeks.” You replied, covering a yawn as you found yourself at a car, the walk a blur.
Unintentionally you found yourself asleep in the backseat the moment you settled back there for the drive. You had filmed in Vancouver before, so it wasn’t a huge deal, and the Reyes’ duo didn’t have the heart to wake you up.
“We’re here,” Madison whispered with the back-car door opened. Your eyelids fluttering at her voice, giving Madison a closer look at your face.
Walking on set, you saw Kenny giving one of his pep talks before he cut himself off at the sight of you. The actors surrounding him furrowed their brows as the legendary director power walked to a person concealed behind Mads.
“Sweetheart.” Kenny beamed, pulling his niece in for a hug before leaning back to scan her features, “You need a nap.”
“I need to meet your new cast.” You snickered stepping around the man to the three actors he had abandoned to see you. You found amusement in their widening eyes at the sight of the Y/N walking to them.
“Oh, my shit.” Owen gasped freaking out as the actress co-starring in the new Spider-Man trilogy came closer.
Last night Owen, Charlie and Jeremy had hosted a movie night in the rented apartment the first two rented. They had quickly made their way through Captain America: Civil War before watching the following movies with Spider-Man. You had a cameo in Captain America: Civil War before becoming a star in Homecoming and Far From Home.
“We manifested her.” Charlie hissed frantically fixing his set costume growing a blush at the smile you wore. He could feel the hair stylist on standby glaring at his tousled locks.
The girl in question came to a stop before the three guys portraying the phantoms of the show in the second season. You couldn’t help but chuckle at the expressions each one of them had.
“Hello.” You greeted flattered when the tall blonde one turned a blossom pink at the voice of an angel. Charlie and Owen had developed celebrity crushes on you.
In revenge, Tori, a returning choreographer and background character, saw Charlie’s expression along with a familiar girl. After filming season one ended the previous year you had stopped by during the filming process of CAOS to catch up with Kenny. Tori had been there and you two became friends.
“Hey!” Tori grinned, pulling you into a hug, “These three binged your MCU movies last night, and Charlie’s wallpaper is you.”
“Tori!”
“This is what you get for telling Booboo about the poster!” Tori called to the Canadian boy jogging out his area. Charlie’s cheek darkened more than Owen’s as your smile grew bigger.
“No worries Ghost. Luke definitely my favourite character and gotta say you should have been on Charmed more than two episodes.” You supplied walking backwards to Kenny once more yearning for a night’s rest after the flight.
“Holy shit.” Charlie choked smacking Jeremy’s arm repeatedly, “She knows me. Oh, oh, OH. She’s seen me-“
“-Getting it on for a scene.” Jeremy snickered as his friend grew more and more flustered, “That was tame compared to her and Tom going at it.”
Charlie’s face dropped being reminded of the explicit scene you had done with Tom Holland in the movie that came out near the end of 2020. The Devil All the Time was the only film out of the MCU you had done with Tom. You had played the promiscuous daughter of a devout, loyal churchgoer and close friend of the preacher.
“Didn’t they date for a few months?” Owen questioned thinking back to the media mayhem during the virtual press for the film.
Owen was correct with the chemistry between you and Tom it was natural you would do interviews together via shared video chats. Charlie watched every single one that came out with interest. He hadn’t even expected the film to do so dark and explicit, but you had a natural talent.
“English, handsome, actor-“ Charlie started to list off on the English actor with a far more extensive list of credits. Charlie felt like a Canadian child in the city of Los Angeles compared to your leading man.
“-runs a charity with his family.” Jeremy continued raising one eyebrow, “At least he isn’t tall. You’d be fully screwed.”
Charlie shoved his teasing friends away with a smirk of his own as the trio continued on to the film. Charlie put his feelings on the back burner to focus on the storyline and emotions of the scene.
Tumblr media
“Spider-Man Three baby!” The English accent shouted from the phone with only an ocean separating the two actors. Tom hadn’t even greeted you before screaming at the news you both received; despite the scripts from a few weeks prior the sequel had fully been greenlighted
Your head tossed back at the childlike glee on the older adult, clearly displaying the two years really mean he was two years old. After meeting on the set of Civil War along with Harrison, you had become friends. Followed with the following MCU appearances, it had been a surprise to be cast in Devil All the Time.
“Insane.” You started making your way through the set to where Kenny had texted you from. It was closing to the end of your vacation.
In the few weeks, you had reconnected with Tori on her breaks along with becoming good friends with the cast members. Something clicked between you and the core four of the show even if Madison sometimes still got starstruck.
“Did you read the script?” Tom questioned quirking his infamous eyebrow his fans wholly adored. You found it amusing, to be honest, that every character he portrayed had the same eyebrow.
“Not fully. I’m surrounded by people, and unlike you, I prefer not to jeopardize my career with marvel.” You teased glancing up as Charlie and Owen made their way over, “I’ll be flying out in a few days for filming.”
Tom nodded his head, “I got get back. Jacob and Haz are visiting. Remember to film the announcement! Bye Love!”
You gave a thumbs up before Tom ended the facetime glancing up at the duo who each raised their eyebrows. Charlie’s mask nearly breaking at Tom’s goodbye. Charlie could feel the cover of his feelings falling more and more each day.
“Announcement?” Owen questioned, slipping his jacket on over his shoulders having changed from his Alex outfit.
“Nothing.” You waved it off, starting to walk backwards with a smile that Charlie thought made your eyes shine brighter than stars.
The boys followed behind on the walk to the house Jeremy and Carolynn had decided to rent during filming. You had been crashing there as Jeremy didn’t want Carolynn to be alone with his filming schedule. It also gave the perfect place for your plan. Last few nights you had binged the marvel movies again ending with Far From Home.
The living room was decked out by Carolynn with your help from earlier as she was the only know that knew. Everyone settled in the living room with Mr Reyes there as well who had quickly become a father figure to you.
“So, I wanted everyone here for a reason. I’m sure you’ve noticed I’ve been reading a script and I have something to open.” You started thanking Jeremy as he brought in the package, he had no clue of the contents, “Now nobody says any spoilers for season two.”
You turned on the camera Paul Becker had supplied with a small smile having already filmed the opening sequence. You sat on the floor in the camera shot, opening the big box to hand out the smaller boxes to your friends. Charlie, Owen, Jeremy, Madison, Savannah, Booboo and every else glanced at the non-descript red box.
“Open them.” You urged grinning as the room went silent except for the tape ripping off the packages.
In each individual box was marvel themed candy, a plushie of Spider-Man along with signed cards from the Avengers actors and the MCU Spider-Man cast. At the very bottom, all it said was to look up at you. Instead of facing them with their looks of shock, you addressed the camera.
“Tom and I are so incredibly happy to announce that Spider-Man 3 is in the beginning process of filming.” You beamed at the camera listening to the intense noise of your friends screaming, “we can’t reveal anything else about the film, but the script is immaculate as usual. You’ll get to see Harper on the screen once more.”
“WHAT!” The collective scream behind you came as you waited a second before ending the video. You’d have to replay it before sending to marvel for the finishing touches with Tom’s version and then you could post it on Instagram.
“Surprise!” You spoke to the group behind you all in states of excitement, “You don’t know how much I’ve wanted to tell you guys! I got the script a few days before I came.”
“Holy shit.” Owen spoke, laughing at he shook his head, “You managed to get autographs from fucking Iron Man himself.”
“I got connections.” You snorted meeting the gaze of Charlie, “Nah, Downey’s kids came for a visit, and I kept them company. Downey offered to do anything, and I took the favour.”
The surprise wore off as the group mingled, but Charlie’s eyes stayed pinned to your form as you sent a message to Tom. Locking your phone to noticed his eyes.
“Hey Charlie.” You smiled, sitting on the couch next to him. His expressive eyes showing a silver screen of emotions you couldn’t quite decipher.
The corner of his mouth tilted up in response to the way his name rolled off your tongue, sending his heart stuttering. A cold sweat appearing when you grasped his hand in yours in a confident manner.
“So, you leave soon?” Charlie murmured moving closer to hear you among the chatter of the group. Your lips turned down for a split second as you felt the sadness of leaving.
It was refreshing to be on set without the demands of makeup, costumes, filming and choreography. To see the action and magic but not be part of it was a definite change you had needed desperately. But to leave Charlie hurt.
“My call time is in three days. Need to get ready to bring Harper Osbourne back to the big screen.” You replied, loosening your grip on his hand, “I don’t really want to go back. I’m gonna miss you…and everyone else of course.”
Unaware to the eyes watching in anticipation you and Charlie conversed further on the upcoming months. To the great disappointment of the house began to clear out, Owen for an early call time. Savannah was meeting with her brother, and Mr Reyes was taking Madison home.
It left Jeremy and Carolynn to retire to their bedroom while you stayed on the couch with Charlie for longer. The emotions building from the prior weeks, bubbling to the surface. Hearts thudding in their chest Charlie leaned in glancing at your lips; yours glancing at his.
Who moved first couldn’t be known, but as your lips brushed together just barely you felt grounded and peaceful. If he leaned closer, you wonder what the kiss would make you feel.
“I’d like to kiss you.” Charlie murmured startled at the confidence he had gained, “But before I do. Do you have something with Tom?”
“Other than onscreen chemistry? Absolutely nothing.” You spoke barely louder than a whisper to the boy that had become so much more than some actor.
He was Charlie. The goofy boy that put a smile on anyone’s face with an impromptu concert in the middle of a crowded street. He lived life to the fullest without any regrets. He was passionate about his work, music and the environment.
Those thoughts evaporated when lips met another pair of lips in what might be described as the best kiss ever. No fireworks felt as Wattpad would say, but instead, it was the heady warmth of hot chocolate on a cold day; a warm shower after a long stressful day. It was home and perfect.

This is gonna be another long post so...yeah. Do with that what you will.
A List of My Top Ten Favorite Movies (So Far) And Why (In No Particular Order)
#1: Juno
Released: December 5, 2007
Cast: Elliot Page, Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, J.K. Simmons
Tumblr media
The rest of these aren't in order but this is my favorite movie. I've literally only watched it twice but I absolutely love it. It is so beautifully written, the cast is amazing. Every character is amazing and amazingly written. Juno is the perfect main character and is so likeable. And the soundtrack!? Perfection. Honestly, I just love everything about this movie. Literally everything.
#2: Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood
Released: July 26, 2019
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Dakota Fanning
Tumblr media
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie, only because it took so long for it to get to the final scene. I don't want to call it boring, but for lack of a better word...it was boring. There were hints about what was going on throughout the entire movie and it builds and builds and builds and then we have this insane final scene. What's even better about it is that it's based on something that happened in real life, it just has two characters thrown in, making it never happen. It's such an interesting movie and waiting for it to sort of get to the point is worth it.
#3: Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Released: June 11, 1986
Cast: Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jennifer Gray, Jeffrey Jones
Tumblr media
A classic. This movie is so quotable and so fun even though the concept is, really, pretty simple. Cameron is one of my favorite movie characters ever. I love Matthew Broderick. Sloane is gorgeous. It's just a really fun movie and one of my go to's for every mood.
#4: Signs
Released: July 29, 2002
Cast: Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix, Rory Culkin, Abigail Breslin, Cherry Jones
Tumblr media
This movie is so creepy, mostly because I believe that aliens exist so it isn't like a regular horror/thriller movie because I feel like this is so real. But this movie is so good. The cast, including the kids, is phenomenal. (Yes, unfortunately, even Mel Gibson.) It plays around with so many questions: are aliens real? What if they were? What if signs are real? What if there aren't signs, only coincidences? I'm a fan of M. Night Shyamalan and this is my favorite of his films.
#5: Stranger Than Fiction
Released: November 10, 2006
Cast: Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson, Dustin Hoffman
Tumblr media
I literally bawl my eyes out every time I watch this. Oh my gosh. So let's start with the fact that this is a more serious role than Will Ferrell usually does, and I love when actors that often just star in comedies pull a, "Hey, I can do this, too!" Harold is such a compelling character, you're just rooting for him the whole time. Every character's interactions with each other are amazing. It's such a sweet story and I really love it a lot.
#6: This is Where I Leave You
Released: September 19, 2014
Cast: Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Corey Stoll, Rose Byrne
Tumblr media
I just watched this recently and I instantly loved it. I talk about casts a lot but this one is absolutely star-studded and it works so well. It tackles the mourning process well and all of the character's interactions are great. I especially love Rose Byrne but I also just really like Rose Byrne in everything I've seen her in.
#7: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Released: December 25, 2013
Cast: Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt
Tumblr media
I was obsessed with this movie in junior high! I watched it all the time and it still holds up. I love the whimsical fantasy it has to it from time to time and Walter's compelling search for the last photo. This movie is ridiculous sometimes and it knows it and it owns it.
#8: The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Released: September 21, 2012
Cast: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Mae Whitman, Paul Rudd
Tumblr media
I read the book and, while the movie isn't completely accurate, it holds up better than most book to movie adaptations. I absolutely love Charlie. Don't get me wrong, Sam is great, Patrick is lovely, but Charlie is amazing, mostly because I relate to him so much in so many ways. The soundtrack to this movie is great, also, and the tunnel scenes are just *chef's kiss* Such a brilliant book and movie.
#9: The Truman Show
Released: June 5, 1998
Cast: Jim Carrey, Laura Linney, Ed Harris, Natascha McElhone
Tumblr media
Another example of a comedian playing a more serious role. Throughout this whole movie, you're just waiting for Truman to find out the truth, for his life to change because the more you watch it, the more you come to love this character. Or, I guess, person. You want the best for him, you want him to break free from this literal cage. It's captivating and angering because this lovable character's entire life is a lie. It's such a brilliant film and I feel like it should get more attention.
#10: Alice in Wonderland
Released: March 5, 2010
Cast: Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter
Tumblr media
Where do I start...this movie is so weird. Which is kind of the point and that's why I love it. The main character doesn't even know what's going on sometimes. Once you figure out what's going on, this movie is just really fun. Kind of. I don't know how to describe this movie, I really don't. But I just love it a lot. There's a dragon and castles and weird creatures and talking animals. Everyone does an excellent job, especially Johnny Depp. I would kill for the Mad Hatter. It's such a weird movie and I can't put my finger on why I love it so much, but I do. I also really like Tim Burton.
Honorable Mentions:
Jojo Rabbit
Crazy Stupid Love
Spider-Man: Homecoming
The Shawshank Redemption
Coraline
Again, if you made it this far, thanks for reading. And, again, 11/10 would recommend all of these, including the honorable mentions.

Hi! May I request an imagine where Tom meets an Indian who’s sort of on the path to be a paediatrician?? But she’s like, 3-4 years younger than him?? And like, both of them are attracted to each other n they sort of start dating??
Love your blog! I’ve read pretty much everything you write! Lots of love to you!! 💛💛
requests are open
wc: 1.5k
Growing up, you were always lost on what you would do with your life. You’d seen friends and family discover their passions, the very reason they live and exist.. Time and time again, you thought you came close to finding out your own, but each path was a dead end, each lead and false tip.
That was, until you volunteered at a children’s hospital that one winter break your parents were away on business. A light flicker inside you, and you knew that was what you were meant to do. Leaving the hospital that day, you pulled up your browsers and stayed up in bed until three A.M., researching and reading about all the doctors that helped children. Perhaps it was your fire, burning so bright and passionately, that granted you access, that paved your path to college and a career for life. Or perhaps it was your heart, loving and nurturing and relentless. It never gave up when something it loved came into view. You knew deep down, in your gut, that it was a bit of both.
But to you, this wasn’t a career. This wasn’t merely just a passion. It was your life for theirs. Your privilege, through the hardships and the struggles and the heaviest tears, it was your brain that was your privilege. But your heart held just as much responsibility as your mind did.
Tom was no different, at that. Acting started as a job, it started as continuing his love for dance and theater. But as he grew, so did his heart. Acting wasn’t just a task of learning how to control one’s emotions. To him, it was a creative expression. It was perspective on life. It was living a life someone dreamed they could’ve had. And no, not as a celebrity, but as the characters. He often thought about how Peter Parker could have been a figment of Stan Lee’s imagination. That the small, nerdy Parker boy was a life Stan Lee wanted but never truly got. Tom pondered a lot of things, but he never once wished he could have another life.
College is harsh. Relentless. It’s a true reality of life, and with the pressure of your parents to do well, you could only pray you would do well. You had been studying for weeks now, finals coming closer with every passing day. You were due for a break, and mind release. You had signed up for your yearly volunteer during winter break. Your roommate rolled her eyes when you told her; she was unsurprised.
Apparently this year, there would be a few special guests. You were happy to share the children, happy the hospital could bring in more people for the kids that deserved the world but could only get a fraction of it. You swore on your life, on your grave, that you’d give them as much of the world as you could.
**
You were giving the world to them today. Dressing in thick leggings and a sweater, you grabbed your puffer coat as you left campus. The drive to the hospital was short and speedy. You greeted Katherine as you came in, hooking your coat on the coat hanger in the back room.
“Hey, Y/N. It’s good to see you. How’s college?”
“Stressful,” you chuckled.
“But worth it?” “Always worth it,” you smiled.
“The ‘guest stars’ will be here soon,” she moved a few clipboards, taking the papers attached to them. “I think they’re bringing things.”
“Oh that’s awesome,” you exhaled. “We need more presents.”
“More?” Katherine chuckled. “You’ve practically emptied your bank account for them.”
“Because my parents would totally allow that,” you eyed her. The two of you chuckled together, setting up a few things.
Katherine was five and a half years older than you. She’d worked at the hospital for awhile though, replacing a nurse who retired. She was young when she started, but the retired nurse had requested her, recommended her, and the hospital didn’t want to waste time on looking for someone else. You’d practically grown up with her; she’d been a volunteer in college while you were finishing high school.
“They’re here,” Nate popped his head in through the door. You and Katherine exchanged looks before going up front to greet them.
“Hi, I’m Kevin Fiege, I’m here with the cast of Spider-man Homecoming. We’re here for the meets I emailed about?”
“Yes hi,” Katherine stepped forward while you shied away from a brunette’s glances. His jeans and sweater were on loosely, and you assumed he probably had a costume on under. He was holding a mask. “I’m Katherine, the one you emailed.” They shook hands and smiled politely, the boy’s eyes never leaving sight of your figure. “Shall we get started then?” the man, Kevin as he addressed himself, suggested.
“Yes, of course,” she rushed out, glancing at you with wide eyes before the two of you chuckled.
A lighter skinned, tall girl stepped forward. You recognized her. “Hi, I’m Zendaya. I play MJ.”
The two of you shook hands, and she did the same thing with Nate and Katherine and a few other nurses. One by one, each cast member introduced themselves before eventually, the brunette came forward.
“Hi, I’m Tom,” he shook your hand, his fingers lingering against yours. “You are… ?”
“Y/N,” you filled in, biting your bottom lip.
“That’s really pretty,” he blushed slightly despite being the one who gave the compliment.
“Thank you,” you breathed a laugh, stepping back and in your rightful spot next to Katherine.
Throughout the day, you noticed Tom through the corner of your eyes, lingering and watching quietly, gazing as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know how, or what. You enjoyed the cast’s company; they were great for the kids. By the end of it, it was nearly eight o’clock, time for ritual medications before bedtime.
The cast stood in the lobby, Tom in his suit talking to Jacob, Zendaya talking to Nate while Katherine finished up with Kevin. You emerged from the elevator, having just said your goodnights and goodbyes to the children.
“You gonna head out, Y/N/N?” Katherine stopped talking to Kevin to ask you the query over all the chatter.
You nodded with a smile, removing the Division 1 Volunteer lanyard from around your neck. “Yeah, I told my mom I’d call her before it gets too late.”
“You and your parents,” she sighed, handing another clipboard over for Kevin to read. “Are you ever gonna let them go?”
You chuckled, “I think the real question is are they ever gonna let me go?”
“Touche,” she laughed. “Say goodbye on your way out,” she motioned her head towards the cast. You glanced at them, they smiled, and you nodded towards her, grabbing your coat from its hook.
“It was really nice having you all here,” you smiled. “Thank you so much for coming; it meant a lot to the kids and to me.”
You saw Tom glancing outside, and without thinking, he stepped forward with a smile. “Let me walk you to your car.”
“Oh, you don’t have to,” you laughed lightly.
“Please, it’s dark out. It’ll only be a few minutes,” he smiled. “It’s no trouble, really.”
“Tom’s always doing that,” Zendaya rolls her eyes. “He’s that one in a million gentlemen.” Her arms crossed as she laughed. “Just let him take you; he won’t take no for an answer.”
You had a feeling they were talking about something else, but nonetheless, you let him accompany you. You waved to Kath one last time before walking through the doors with Tom by your side.
“How long have you been volunteering?”
“Since the summer before my junior year of highschool.”
He hummed. “How old are you?”
“I just turned nineteen,” you walked over a puddle. “How old are you?”
“I’m 21.”
You hummed just as he had. You saw your car near, and you were almost sad your encounter with Tom would end soon. You doubted you’d ever see him again after this, even if he did remember today.
“Listen I was wondering,” he spoke as you placed your bag into the backseat of your car — it wasn’t actually your car. It was your mom’s old one, she’d gotten it when she first moved to your childhood home. Convincing her you should have it was a nightmare. You focused on Tom. “If maybe… we could go out sometime? Sorry if this is totally unprofessional and if I’m completely reading this wrong or somethi-”
“No no-!” you cut him off before stopping shortly. “You didn’t. I’d- I’d love to go out with you sometime.”
“Great,” he said softly before repeating it more confidently. He handed you his cell phone gingerly, and you typed away in the bitter cold, smiling as you handed it back.
“I’ll- I’ll call you tonight. Af- after your parents.” You giggled. “Goodnight Y/N.”
“Goodnight,” you whispered just as he stepped away. You smiled to yourself, opening the car door.

An Intern’s Ordeal
Summary:  Peter gets invited to the Annual Stark Charity Gala, only he thinks he's attending as an intern and panics because he doesn't even know how to make coffee so how can he manage an actual event. Throw in a stab wound, some fractured ribs, a healthy dose of self-deprecation and a case of mistaken identity, and Tony realises that Peter really doesn't understand how much he means to him.
Rated T | Irondad | Completed | 10k
AN: i hope you all enjoy, i’ll add the link to read on ao3 in a reblog if you guys prefer that!! tw for injuries and blood, stay safe my lovelies and the tag list is at the end!
“You know,” Peter commented idly as he set down the wrench Mr. Stark had handed him on the table, “when you said you wanted me to come over and help out in the workshop, this wasn't exactly what I thought you’d have planned.”
“No?” Mr. Stark wondered as he held out a hand for the weird caps Peter was still tightly gripping after being warned not to lose them, “what did you think we were going to do?”
“I don’t know, really,” Peter shrugged dismissively, “but I kinda thought it would be something to do with Spider-Man.”
“Spider-Man?” Mr. Stark spoke as though he had forgotten who Spider-Man was, as though he wasn't sitting in the same room as him, before cursing slightly under his breath and dropping one of the caps.
“Yeah, you know? The red and blue guy who swings over the city on webs that he made himself because he’s so totally cool and smart.”
“I know who Spider-Man is, kid,” Mr. Stark said rolling his eyes at Peter, “can you grab that wrench again? Then get down here, it’s your turn to do a bit of work.”
“Well, I’m just saying you sounded a bit confused,” Peter said as he jumped off his stool and crouched by the engine on the floor, the smell of motor oil and grease making his head spin a little, he blamed his enhanced sense of smell for that as he other man didn't seem to be affected by it.
“Not about Spider-Man,” Mr. Stark corrected him, before frowning and giving Peter a serious look, “Pete, do you think I only keep you around because of your abilities?”
“Uh,” Peter faltered, unable to find the words to explain how he did think that but not in a way that made Mr. Stark seem like a bad guy, just in a way that proved Peter wasn't any more special than the next intern who passed through the halls of Stark Industries.
A look of understanding seemed to cross Mr. Stark’s face and before Peter could even open his mouth he continued to speak, “hey, actually,  how would you feel about coming to this charity Gala on Saturday?”
“Wh- wait, what?”
That… had been the last thing Peter expected Mr. Stark to say, why would he invite him to a Gala? Didn't he realise that Peter was probably the last person in the world who should be invited to a fancy event - in fact, he wasn't entirely sure he owned a suit, would that be an issue? Maybe he could borrow that one of Ben’s he wore to Homecoming.
“Charity Gala,” Mr. Stark repeated, “it's a big event with suits, ties, dresses, and champagne; lots and lots of champagne, not that you’re allowed to drink that, but as Stark Industries is the organiser of the even then I can make sure we have plenty of soda. So, what’s your favourite: Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Sprite, Fanta…”
“Uh, I don't- I don't know,” Peter stammered, “just whatever you want is fine with me.”
“Come on, Kiddo, I want to make this enjoyable for my favourite intern, so what’s your drink of choice?”
“Uh, Dr Pepper, maybe?” Peter said unsurely.
“You got it,” Mr. Stark said, “now come on, get your head in the game, we need to rebuild this engine.”
“Why are we doing this?” Peter wondered, still feeling slightly confused by the conversation that had just occurred, he felt like there was a deeper meaning to it.
“By the time I was your age, I’d lost count of the number of engines I’d rebuilt, this is a young genius’ rite of passage.”
I’m not a genius, Peter thought to himself but instead of voicing the thought aloud, he focused his attention on the task at hand. Or, he tried to, at least, the truth was that he was slightly caught up on Mr. Stark’s comment about wanting his favourite intern at the Charity Gala.
Was that his way of saying that he wasn't keeping Peter around because of his Spider-Man abilities, but rather because of his status as a Stark Industries intern? But that couldn't be right, Peter wasn't even a good intern - he usually just fiddled around in the workshop and tried to improve his Spider-Man equipment before attempting to eat Mr. Stark out of house and home. So, why wouldn't he take a better intern to the Gala? And what exactly would be expected of Peter on Saturday?
“Kid?” Mr. Stark poked Peter’s arm making him jump in shock and his head snapped to the side to see his mentor staring at him with a slightly concerned expression, “you good? You’re off in your own world tonight, I’m starting to get a little worried and you know me; I don’t like to be worried, I like to be blase in most situations.”
“I’m yeah, I’m good, don’t worry,” Peter lied, “I was just thinking about this US History project I’ve got to hand in soon.”
“History?” Mr. Stark muttered, screwing up his nose in disgust, “you go to a STEM school, right? Shouldn't they be focusing on the sciences more than history?”
“Well, you know how it is,” Peter muttered with a shrug, “those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it, and I suppose they have to give us a rounded education.”
Mr. Stark cast him a dubious glance, “you sure that’s the saying, Bud?”
“Well, it’s close, I think,” Peter mumbled, “anyways, I like history, I don't think it’s something I’ll pursue as a career but the class is interesting enough.”
“A career?” Mr. Stark asked jerking back in shock, “in history?”
“Not for me,” Peter repeated, “I don’t know, I’ll probably go into research or scientific development or something, I haven't thought about it in too much detail, to be honest.”
“You haven't- Kid, what? You should absolutely be thinking about this,” Mr. Stark said, “I know I’ve mentioned this before but I do have some pull at MIT. In fact, I have some pull at almost every college out there, you name it and I could probably get you in. What can I say? People love me.”
“I just don't want to make a life-changing decision at fifteen,” Peter muttered, “I know I’m going to have to soon, but do you know how much people change and grow? I asked May and she said she’s nothing like the person she was as a teenager, so if that’s going to be the same for me, how do I know that I’ll choose the right career at this point in my life, I’d rather take the time and make that decision.”
“Alright,” Mr. Stark said, “as much as I’d love to put you through college and have you working full time at Stark Industries, I can understand why you feel that way and it’s quite a mature observation - even though I hate it.”
“You’d want me working here?” Peter asked with wide eyes.
“Of course, you’re my favourite intern after all,” Mr. Stark said with what Peter was sure was meant to be a teasing grin, but all he could think about was the swooping in his stomach as those words were repeated. ‘Favorite intern’ was that Mr. Stark’s way of saying he was going to have to act like an intern at the Charity Gala?
He instantly began to feel nauseous, Mr. Stark was dropping hints about the intern thing which meant that he was absolutely expecting Peter to be on the ball at the Gala and he was only used to messing around in the lab. In fact, Peter was fairly sure that he’d never done anything intern-like; Mr. Stark had once asked Peter to turn on the coffee machine and Peter had merely shrugged, shoved a handful of sour patch kids in his mouth, and admitted that he had no idea how to make coffee.
So really, Peter had never done an intern’s job, he was going into this completely blind.
“Peter?” Mr. Stark prompted, “are you alright? Was that too much?”
“I’m fine,” Peter said quickly, as he lurched to his feet, “I just really gotta go and… work on that project.”
Peter stumbled over the toolbox on the floor, a testament to his distraction as his Spidey-Sense would have usually warned him of such obstructions, and grabbed his backpack off the ground.
“Peter, wait-”
But Peter didn't wait, or even hang around outside the door to the workshop to listen to the end of Mr. Stark’s sentence, he ran. Like a coward, his mind supplied.
He wasn't a coward, he was just… scared that Mr. Stark was going to expect more of him than he was able to give, he didn't know how to be an intern, so really, was it any surprise that no one at school believed him? Ned probably would have eventually lost his trust in Peter after a while if it wasn't for the discovery that he was Spider-Man.
Peter made his way upwards to the roof, instead of towards the main exit, slipping his web-shooters on over his wrists in preparation to swing home.
“Peter, Boss has requested that I ask you to stay, at least for ten minutes,” F.R.I.D.A.Y. said, which of course shouldn't have been a surprise considering she was everywhere in the building - except the bathrooms.
“I can’t,” Peter said, guilt gnawing at his stomach as he spoke, “tell him that I’m sorry for rushing out, and it wasn't anything he said-” that was a lie but Mr. Stark didn't need to feel guilty about expecting Peter to do his job “-and maybe just say I’ll see him on Saturday, although if wants to he could text me the details?”
“I’ll pass that along,” F.R.I.D.A.Y. said gently, or as gently as a robotic voice could sound, “take care Peter, don't forget your mask and  swing safely.”
“Thanks, F.R.I.,” he mumbled as the doors to the roof slid open and Peter breathed in the cool NYC evening air.
Taking note of her advice, he pulled his Spider-Man mask out of his backpack and pulled it over his head, he didn't bother changing fully into his suit, he was only going home - he had no plans to stop and fight any crimes.
“Good evening, Peter, I heard from F.R.I.D.A.Y. that you were distressed, how are you now?” Karen greeted him instantly.
“Of course you did,” Peter muttered, “I’m fine, don't worry, but can I ask you something?”
“You just did, but of course I am your A.I. system therefore you can ask me as many questions as you’d like,” Karen told him.
“Alright,” Peter mumbled, rolling his eyes behind the mask as he wondered whether she had been programmed to respond with that whenever he asked if he could ask a question, “uh, so theoretically if I asked you some questions would you have to tell Mr. Stark what I asked you?”
“No, he only has override codes in case of an emergency, but I was designed to be yours alone and that must come with some degree of trust.”
“Right,” Peter said, trying to process her words as he launched himself off the side of Stark Tower and felt the cold wind make his clothes flap in the breeze, his stomach swooped with the familiar, intoxicating fear of falling and he felt himself immediately perk up with the adrenaline rush.
He waited until he could make out the shocked expressions of the people on the street before he shot a web, feeling the familiar tug on his arms as his fall was broken and he swung in an upwards arc - it felt like he was on a rollercoaster and he couldn't deny that he loved every moment of it.
He had almost lost himself in the comforting thwips of web-slinging and the soothing breeze when Karen spoke up once more and reminded him of his concerns.
“Did you want to ask me anything else?” she prompted.
“Uh, yeah,”  Peter mumbled, “what would an intern typically wear to a Stark Industries Charity Gala?”
“Mr. Stark doesn't typically take interns to his Galas,” Karen informed him, “however, I know that you’re asking this because you were invited this Saturday, therefore why don't you just wear formal attire.”
“How did you know that?” Peter asked in a moment of paranoia.
“I am connected to Tony Stark’s personal server which is the same server as F.R.I.D.A.Y. and she has the finalised guest list for the Gala which includes your name.”
“Is there anything else there about me?” Peter wondered, “besides my name, that is?”
“Unlimited access.”
“Unlimited because I’m an intern, right?” Peter asked, “I have to be able to do what Mr. Stark needs during the Gala?”
“I don't follow your line of questioning,” Karen said.
“Yeah, no,” Peter mumbled, “I didn't really follow that either. How about this: what does an intern typically do?”
“I need more context,” Karen said, “the job role of an intern depends on who they intern for.”
“Alright, what does an S.I. intern do?” Peter corrected.
“In which department?”
“Mr. Stark’s personal intern, what would be expected of that person?”
“The only person to ever fill that role is yourself, therefore I’m afraid that’s only a question you can answer as it was never an official post therefore I can’t source any information from a job application.”
“So,” Peter said slowly as he swung, “you’re telling me that only I know the answer to the thing I don't know?”
“Exactly.”
“Great,” Peter mumbled, shaking his head to himself.
So basically he was the only person who had ever interned for Mr. Stark, which made sense, after all, Mr. Stark had always had Miss. Potts with him, she had been his assistant before she had taken over everything, therefore why would he need interns? If anything, Miss. Potts was probably the one who had interns, so what if Peter asked her?
No.
That wouldn't work, she and him hadn't seen each other a ton and if he went up to her and started asking weird questions she would either assume that he was looking for money or she’d grow suspicious and tell Mr. Stark about him questioning her.
So, he was essentially lost. There didn't seem to be any clear answer about how to be a good intern for Mr. Stark or what would be expected of him on Saturday. To be fair he should have expected this to be harder than expected, his mentor wasn't one to play by the rules and why should this situation be any different?
“Are you alright?” Karen asked, “you’re acting strange tonight, your behaviour is sparking concern.”
“I’m fine,” Peter lied, “just worried about this project thing I have to prepare for school next week.”
“You know, I am connected to a great deal of information, if you need help with a project, you can always ask me,” Karen reminded him.
“Yeah, K, I know,” Peter murmured, “I just need to think, alright? I’m fine, I just need some time to myself.”
“Noted.”
And with that, she fell silent, finally, and Peter was left to his thoughts and worries. Which he had absolutely planned to do, except a piercing scream breaking through the night distracted him from himself.
“No, no, please, my husband’s medication is in that bag!” A woman shouted, sounding panicked, “please, no, he has seizures and if you take his meds he will be in danger and my money is in there too, I can’t buy more pills.”
Peter immediately changed his trajectory, so much for not getting involved in anything, I probably should have put the whole Spidey-Suit on, he thought to himself as his hearing honed in on the desperate sobs coming from an alleyway.
The scene that met Peter in the alleyway made his blood boil and he felt himself gritting his teeth without meaning to; a lady who looked to be in her late seventies was clutching at her handbag as though her life depended on it, although judging by what Peter had previously heard, her husband’s did. The thief was tugging sharply and slashing the air between them with a sharp blade, he didn't seem to be trying to stab her, but he wasn't exactly being careful.
“Hey!” Peter shouted, successfully distracting the thief who seemed to jump out of his skin and let go of the lady’s handbag on impulse.
“Spidey?” the man asked, looking over Peter’s clothes with a confused frown which reminded Peter that he was wearing an incredibly dorky science T-Shirt with an amazing science pun on it, he would probably have to bin the shirt now, or at the very least retire it for a year or so.
“Stealing a lady’s handbag?” Peter asked, not needing to put much effort into proving that he was disappointed in the guy, “really man? That’s low, especially when she’s told you her husband’s very important medications are in there.”
“No one asked you, beat it!”
“I can’t do that,” Peter said, “I’m going to have to insist that you walk away, maybe if you go in the opposite direction I won’t knock you out and call the police.”
Alright, so maybe that was a lie and Peter was planning to web the guy up and call the cops no matter what he decided.
“Oh, fuck off,” the man muttered.
“Hey!” Peter shouted, “language!”
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” the thief snapped, forgetting about the lady and her handbag in order to focus his attention on Peter.
He made a quick hand motion to the lady to run, and thankfully she didn't need to be told twice as she instantly broke into a hasty trot away, her heels clicking on the concrete but the thief didn't seem to care, his attention was solely on Peter and the blade in his hands was no longer being held loosely, now it was poised to attack.
“Woah, dude!” Peter muttered, holding his hands up as he backed off a few steps, “I take it back, you can use whatever language you want.”
“Why couldn't you just keep swinging?” the man asked as he took a couple of calculated steps forward, “I had this all under control, why the fuck did you think it was a good idea to get involved?”
“You were stealing that lady’s handbag,” Peter said, “and her husband’s medication, there’s nothing about that situation that is controlled.”
“It was for me, alright?” the man screamed.
Uh oh, Peter thought, from experience he had realised that when people were overly emotional, they became unpredictable. This man was armed and seemed desperate.
That was something that Peter occasionally struggled with; he was out almost every night as Spider-Man and often he stopped people who weren't truly bad but they were just in a difficult situation. Did that make him a bad person? Some of those ‘criminals’ were potentially only trying to scrounge money to feed their families.
He couldn't think like that though because  if he started excusing some people’s bad actions and condemning others’, where did he draw the line? Spider-Man was the person who looked out for the little guy, he stopped crime, he didn't take statements and decide who was guilty or whose actions were justified. If someone did something wrong then he would stop them and that was that.
“Look, I get you think you have your reasons for this, but it's wrong,” Peter said, “why don't you put the knife away, and maybe we can sort this out without anyone getting hurt?”
“You-” the man broke off, seemingly too angry to form a coherent sentence, instead he lunged forward, knife in hand.
Peter hadn't been expecting that reaction, he had hoped the man would have been willing to compromise. In a desperate attempt to avoid being impaled on the guy’s blade, Peter forced himself through the air and he hit the ground with a thud, feeling as though something in the side of his chest had cracked.
“Ouch,” Peter muttered, trying to ignore the whine he could hear in his own voice, he was meant to be the tough hero who fended for those who couldn't fend for themselves, “hey, man, that was seriously not cool.”
“Shut the fuck up!”
The man lunged at him again, still holding the knife, and Peter skittered backward like a crab until his back came up against a hard, metal surface: oh, the dumpster.  He desperately needed to get back up on his feet, he was at a serious disadvantage.
His Spidey-Sense thrummed in alarm and he whirled around just in time to see the moonlight glint off the blade that was flying towards his face - this guy was aiming to kill! In a last-minute, desperate attempt, he pushed himself downwards so that the guy stabbed into the dumpster instead of Peter’s face, the blade cutting through the metal as though it were butter.
“Dude, what the hell?” Peter gasped out from his place, flat on his back on the damp alleyway ground.
“Stop moving,” the man grunted as he swung again.
“What?” Peter asked, “no!”
Why would he do the one thing that would mean certain death? Sure, he put on a spandex suit on a nightly basis and swung around the city at dizzying heights, but he didn't have a death wish. Besides, his suit had a certain degree of shock absorption ability, and it was cut-proof, which didn't always prevent Peter from getting hurt, but it definitely took away the brunt of his injuries.
Except he wasn't wearing his suit currently…
He was very much just Peter Parker in a mask, although he did have his web-shooters. His web-shooters! Just as the guy lifted the blade, with two hands, looking as though he was ready to perform a sacrifice, Peter shot a web upwards and pulled himself out from certain death.
As he flew upwards he felt the man strike one last time, and in his desperation, he succeeded. Pain radiated through Peter as the blade embedded in his thigh and was dragged downwards as Peter’s body moved up.
“Ah!” Peter called out in agony, the man below in the alley laughed in victory.
“Got the little bastard!” The man cheered as he started to run.
Peter wanted to chase after him, web him up and make sure that he would never hurt another person ever, but he was smart enough to know that with the current state of his leg, he wasn't going to be chasing anyone.
“Karen? You there?” Peter asked, despite knowing that she never went anywhere.
“I’m here,” she confirmed, “I know you needed time to think, but I would seriously recommend seeking medical attention, you have a large laceration down your right thigh.”
“I’m aware,” Peter said dryly, or tried to, his humour was shadowed by the pain that was coursing through him.
“I can contact Mr. Stark if you would like?” she offered, and normally Peter would have said yes, he would have felt relief at the thought of his mentor coming to pick him up from the cold rooftop and taking him back to the tower where he would receive decent pain relief and have his wound cared for immediately.
But, he couldn't say yes, because he had run out in such a strange way that the next time he saw Mr. Stark the man would undoubtedly have more questions than Peter was ready to answer.
“No,” he said slowly, “but thanks, Karen, actually though… could you just alert the police to that guy, I don't care what you tell them, just make sure he can't hurt anyone else, please?”
“Consider it done,” she said.
Peter let out a breath of relief that he hadn't even realised he’d been holding. It was going to be alright, the cops would pick up the guy before he hurt anyone else, that lady would probably be at home with her husband by now and he could go home and patch himself up before he started to research further into interning at a fancy Gala.
Or, that had been the plan.
By the time he made it home, the sun was beginning to reappear in the sky and he could hear the sounds of the city waking up for another day.
It's a good thing May was on the nightshift, Peter thought to himself as his apartment block finally came into view.
His jeans were no longer blue, but rather a strange brownish red with the effect of a mixture of dried and still flowing blood. His blood. It wasn't often he ended up covered in his own blood, but these things happened he supposed.
Taking advantage of the last hour or so of dim light, he carefully crawled up the side of the building, doing his best to make sure there wasn't a blood trail leading up to his window - he wouldn't be able to explain that one away easily.
“You have a text from Mr. Stark,” Karen informed him.
“Oh…” Peter mumbled and he painfully crawled through his bedroom window and let his body fall to the carpet with a thump, “what does it say?”
“One message from Tony Stark, sent two minutes ago: hey Kiddo! I’m not really sure what happened back there, maybe I overstepped by bringing up colleges and working with me, or maybe you’re more interested in Oscorp - although I don't know why didn't you hear about their animal experimentation scandal? Probably not a good time for jokes, but let me know you’re alright, ok? I saw that Karen has been active all night, so try and get some sleep and just know that I’m not mad at all… I’m just a little confused, but there's no pressure here for you to explain what was up. “
“Do you think I upset him?” Peter asked his A.I. carefully as he lay on his bedroom floor, probably creating a mess of blood that he would be forced to scrub at later.
“I like to think he was honest in the message, I believe he is just confused.”
“It’s stupid,” Peter mumbled, “like, I shouldn't have freaked out, it was so dumb of me.”
“Would you like to talk about it?” Karen offered.
“Uh, maybe?” Peter said, “I could keep the mask on while I clean this leg up.”
“Sounds good,” and if Peter wasn't mistaken, her voice sounded gentle and reassuring, he was lucky that she was a computer program and didn't tire of him, or need to sleep.
So, Peter carefully pulled himself back to his feet, crying out in agony as soon as he put weight on his bad leg. If the thought of trying to stand once more didn't fill him with dread, he would have crumbled instantly.
“Shit,” he muttered, he wasn't one for regularly cursing but all things considered he felt the situation called for it, and there was no one around to hear, except Karen.
He made his way slowly to the bathroom, dragging his leg rather than stepping to try and reduce the amount of muscle movement, not that it mattered, the blood still oozed out and the tearing sensation still made him feel nauseated.
“I’m going to have so much blood to clean up before May comes home,” Peter whined to Karen as he pushed open the bathroom door, leaving a red smear behind.
“Would you like me to contact Mr. Stark for you? He can hire a cleaning company,” Karen offered.
“A… cleaning company?” Peter asked, feeling ill at the thought, and not just from the pain he was in, “no, no that’s fine, thanks though.”
He and May weren't poor per se, but they didn't often have an abundance of money to spare, and the thought of paying someone to come and clean their little apartment, when that money could have been used for gas or food, made Peter feel ill. He already caused their food bill to skyrocket thanks to his enhanced metabolism.
Peter sat down heavily on the side of the bathtub, letting the bright lights hurt his eyes momentarily.
“Karen?”
“Yes, Peter?”
“I didn't run out on Mr. Stark because I was upset that he had brought up college or offered me a position at Stark Industries,” Peter admitted, “I mean, it was a bit of a shock, and I know I’m going to have to decide what I want to do with my life soon enough because I can’t live in limbo until I know for sure, but yeah, working with Mr. Stark is the dream.”
“So why did you leave?” Karen asked.
“He asked me to go to the Charity Gala,” Peter said.
“That’s a bad thing?”
“No, no, no, not for a normal intern,” Peter admitted, “but for me, yeah, I’ve never actually done anything intern-y in my life, I don't even know how to make coffee because I don't drink it and that one time I tried to make it for May she made me promise to never put her through that again.”
“So?”
“So interns get coffee,” Peter said as he inched out of his jeans, the dried blood creating a kind of glue between the fabric and his skin.
“You have never gotten coffee,” Karen informed him as though that wasn't partially what he was freaking out about.
“Exactly,” Peter muttered, gently easing his clothing off was causing him too much pain, so he tore the jeans away from the wound in a sharp motion that made stars blink in and out of existence in his line of vision as darkness threatened at the edges.
He didn't remember slipping off the side of the tub, but just as he thought he was going to lose the fight to stay awake, the fuzziness disappeared from his vision and he was blinking tiredly on the bathroom floor with his leg oozing fresh blood.
“Peter? Peter!”
“Ugh,” he groaned, “s’ok, ‘m fine.”
“I really think it’s about time we sought more professional help,” Karen suggested.
“No, no, it’s all good,” Peter said as he started to feel less dizzy from the agony, “besides, I was telling you stuff, remember?”
“Indeed, would you like to continue?”
“Yeah, uh, so, the coffee thing,” Peter mumbled as he gently nudged his jeans off properly, trying to avoid looking too closely at the blood on his leg as he did so, “well, it’s just that I’ve never done one of the most simple things an intern does, and Mr. Stark was dropping hints about me being an intern, so obviously I need to fill that role at the Charity Gala, but how can I when I don't know what’s expected of me?”
“Maybe you’re meant to just go and have a good time?” Karen suggested.
“No, no it’s not that,” Peter was sure, “he mentioned interning a few times, it was very clear that he’s wanting me to step up and actually fill that role.”
“Why don't you ask him?”
“What? No way!” Peter said quickly, “I absolutely can't do that.”
“Why not?”
“You wouldn't get it,” Peter muttered and ripped the mask off in one smooth action, feeling slightly guilty about cutting off his closest confidant so ruthlessly.
He tried to ignore the turmoil in his mind and instead focused his attention on the gash on his leg. He carefully pulled himself back up onto the side of the tub and swung around so that he could clean the wound off in the bath. He used the showerhead and rinsed it on the gentlest pressure setting, rubbing at the skin around the laceration to clear it of the dried and congealing blood.
“What the-”
For some reason he had expected a long swipe, maybe from upper thigh to his knee, he had not expected the sight he was met with. The wound was the length of his pointer finger, and it was wide. It was almost like someone had cut an oval into his flesh rather than swiping him with a knife.
It needed stitches.
It probably needed a professional, but Peter was an amateur with a complex against disturbing others and a strong need to avoid Mr. Stark until the Gala, so he was going to have to deal with it himself. How much blood had he lost? How long did he have until this wound became life-threatening? He needed to get his shit together and sort it out.
Once he had finished rinsing the laceration, he wrapped one of May’s nice yellow towels around it tightly, to try and stem the flow of the blood - a large part of him felt guilty, he was going to have to throw it away and listen to her confused rambles as she wondered what had happened to it.
“Come on, Peter,” he muttered to himself, “you can do this.”
He forced himself to stand, ignoring how that simple, painful movement made a sudden red appear on the otherwise pristine towel.
“Gotta close it up,” he muttered as he opened the mirrored cabinet and began to rake through for the first aid kit he knew was hidden in there, various things fell as he searched and clattered into the sink making him glad that he was home alone.
When he opened the first aid kit, he rummaged until he found the thing he had been looking for; a pack of Steri-Strips. He opened them and read through the information leaflet.
Only use on shallow, clean, uninfected wounds. Do not use where bleeding is unmanageable or significant. Do not use on hairy, oily areas, joints, the face. Seek medical attention if the wound was a human or animal bite.
Well, that was a lot of situations in which they were unsuitable and Peter was fairly sure his wound wasn't shallow and he would have said the bleeding was erring on the unmanageable side, but what else could he do? He didn't have any other option, he would have to try.
So he did, he carefully unwound the towel and looked at the nauseating wound on his thigh. He needed to align the edges and hold them in place with the Steri-Strips. It sounded simple… but it was going to hurt. Gritting his teeth, he started to get to work. Small whimpers and whines of pain would escape every now and then as he struggled not to lose himself to the lightheaded feeling that kept coming with the pain.
The Steri-Strips didn't work as well as Peter had hoped, the edges of the wound weren't exactly lining up and there were parts of the sticky side that were attached to the open part of the wound, which he was sure wasn't meant to happen. But, it was an improvement, and that was all he could ask for.
He stuck one of the sterile dressings over the top and used the first aid scissors to cut a strip off the towel - he was going to bin it anyways - which he then tied tightly around the affected area to create enough pressure to stop the bleeding.
“Now to clean up,” he muttered with a slightly delirious laugh that he was putting down to the blood loss.
Sitting there, with his leg wound cared for - to his best ability - and his throbbing ribs, Peter realised just how tired he was. He still needed to clean up the mess he’d created and research what Mr. Stark would be expecting of him at the Gala.
He pulled on his mask tiredly, “Karen?”
“Yes, Peter?”
“I’m sorry.”
“I forgive you, what can I do for you?”
“Can you text Mr. Stark for me and say: sorry for running off like that, don't worry I’ll be at the Gala tomorrow, and I’ll be fully prepared.”
“Message sent.”
“Thanks, Karen,” Peter said and laid his head back, fighting the urge to fall into a deep, comforting sleep. He still had so much to do…
----
By the time Saturday evening arrived, Peter was so nervous he was almost crawling about on the ceiling.
“Oh, Honey, relax would you,” May said with a fond eye roll as she rewatched the tie tutorial that she’d saved after they’d both been mystified by the snakelike fabric on the night of Homecoming.
“Relax?” Peter asked, his voice a few octaves too high, “May, I can’t just relax, this is the Stark Charity Gala and I am a Stark Intern.”
“So?” May asked, motioning for him to come closer so she could do up the tie after her third run through of the video.
“So, I need to be the best intern that has ever been to one of these things, if it gets out that I’m Mr. Stark’s personal intern and I don’t do a good enough job, then my actions will impact negatively on Mr. Stark and I can’t have that!”
“You need to calm down, Pete,” May said with a laugh, “you’re getting too in your head about this, why don't you just try to have a good time? And maybe go fix your hair.”
“Yeah,” Peter mumbled running a hand through his curls, “hair. I can do that.”
“Just don't use as much gel as you did last time, alright?” May said, “the curls suit you, the greasy look does not.”
“Oh ha ha,” Peter mumbled as he made his way out of the living room, pain echoing in every step, but May couldn't know.
She couldn't know about the thirty dressings he had gone through in the last two days as his leg refused to heal properly, despite his normally impressive healing abilities. She couldn't know about the weird yellowish-green discharge that was escaping constantly or the strange smell he had begun to notice. She couldn't even know about the smattering of dark bruises that spanned across half his ribs and made breathing difficult.
“Don’t take too long, Peter,” May called after him, “Happy will be here soon and I want to take some pictures of you before you leave.”
Peter looked at himself in the mirror, taking in his ghostly pallor and the bags beneath his eyes, how had he avoided causing May suspicion? He looked terrible, or maybe that was his enhanced sight picking up on things normal people couldn't see.
He coated his fingers in a light amount of gel and ran them through his hair, enough to style it but not so much that it looked greasy, as May would say.
“Alright, I’m ready!” Peter declared, walking back into the room to be met with the flash of a camera, “woah! May!”
“You look so cute!” she said in response.
“I am not cute!” Peter insisted, “I- I’m- I am the most-”
“Face it, you’re the cutest,” May said pinching his cheeks gently, before pulling him into a hug that squeezed his ribs painfully, “alright, now, have a good night, alright?”
“You sure you don't want to come?” Peter asked.
“Oh no,” May said with a laugh, “I have a bottle of red and a handful of romcoms with my name on them.”
“Alright,” Peter said, “have a good night.”
“You too, and if you’re staying at the tower, send me a text, ok?” May asked, “I don't want to spend the night worrying about where you are.”
“You got it!” Peter said with false cheer, he doubted that Mr. Stark would want him to stay over, especially as he hadn't replied to the man since that message while he’d been cleaning his wound up.
Peter made his way downstairs to see the familiar sleek black car parked by the curb, without hesitating he wandered over to the back door and slipped inside.
“Hey, Happy!”
Happy grunted in greeting and fixed Peter with a piercing stare through the rearview mirror.
“Is uh, is everything ok?” Peter wondered nervously.
“I could ask you the same thing,” Happy said, “Tony says you’ve been avoiding his messages.”
“My phone died,” Peter lied.
“You couldn't charge it?”
“My charger is broken.”
“You couldn't get a new one?”
“We’re not all billionaires,” Peter mumbled.
“You could have asked Tony, he would have replaced it in a heartbeat.”
“How?” Peter asked, “my phone was dead.”
“Alright, fine, keep your secrets,” Happy grumbled, “just… be careful alright, Kid? Tony is really worried about you and I thought he was maybe overreacting because I know how he can be sometimes, but now I’m beginning to think something might be wrong.”
“There’s nothing wrong.”
“Is there anything I can do?” Happy asked, ignoring Peter’s lie.
“Uh actually, can we go to a Drive-Thru Starbucks on the way?”
“You… want coffee?”
“Uh, yeah,” Peter mumbled.
“Alright, sure,” Happy said, “the first time you’ve actually asked for something so I’m not going to say no.”
Was it really?
The server manning the Drive-Thru window looked very confused when Happy pulled up and requested an Americano and a Hot Chocolate, Peter could see her glancing between the two of them, obviously wondering who Peter was and why he was being chauffeured around.
Maybe she would make up a story for her friends to laugh about, or maybe she was tired and nearing the end of her shift and didn't really care. Either way, Peter slunk back into the seat and looked the other way until Happy handed him the two drinks he had requested.
“So, what’s with the drinks Kid?” Happy asked.
“I don't know how to make coffee,” Peter admitted as though that was an appropriate answer.
“Alright,” Happy said and he sighed deeply, “do you… do you normally drink coffee?”
“What? No, this stuff could kill me,” Peter said, “ever since becoming Spider-Man, I have bad reactions to caffeine.”
“Bad reactions?” Happy asked, his eyes narrowing at Peter through the mirror.
“Oh yeah, you know; palpitations, heart arrhythmias, rashes, jitters, headaches, projectile vomiting, occasional hallucinations, collapsing episodes, cra-”
“So it’s bad?” Happy interrupted.
“Yeah, it’s pretty bad,” Peter agreed.
“So…” Happy trailed off, looking seconds away from pulling over so that he could tear the coffee from Peter’s hands and throw it, “why exactly did we get you a coffee?”
“Oh, this isn't for me.”
“Peter, Kid, come on, you’ve got to give a little here,” Happy muttered, “why did we get a coffee if it’s not for you and you can't even drink the damn stuff?”
“It’s for Mr. Stark,” Peter said as though that should have been the most obvious thing in the world.
“And pray tell, why are you getting a coffee for Mr. Stark before the Charity Gala?”
“Because I’m an intern.”
“Of course,” Happy muttered, looking about ready to drive them off the bridge they were currently crossing, “why did I even need to ask?”
The divider slowly raised between them as Happy muttered his statements of disbelief under his breath.
-----
“There he is!” Mr. Stark said cheerfully as Peter walked into the room, Americano in hand, “I was starting to worry you wouldn't show up.”
“I promised I would,” Peter said, despite Mr. Stark’s words he could see the worry in the older man’s eyes, “oh uh, here, I brought you coffee.”
“Coffee?” Mr. Stark asked, taking the drink from Peter and looking at it in confusion, “you brought me a coffee?”
“Yeah,” Peter said, “I hope it’s alright.”
The worry only seemed to intensify rather than lessening, was Mr. Stark that concerned about Peter messing up in public? If so, why should he invite him?
“Thanks, Kiddo,” Mr. Stark said, taking a polite sip from the cup, “anyway, why don't I introduce you to some people.”
“Sounds good, but maybe I could go to the toilet first?” Peter asked, “it was a long drive and I may have had a hot chocolate.”
“Great, a sugar hyped kid,” Mr. Stark joked, “go on then, scram, you don't need my permission.”
Things seemed to be going smoothly enough until Peter walked out of the bathroom to find his Spidey-Sense thrumming away with a sense of urgency. Just as he started to look for the source of danger, a hand fisted into the fabric at the back of his neck and he was tugged to the side harshly.
“Where have you been?” a man asked angrily, “and what are you doing out here without even a tray of drinks?”
“I uh-”
“Shut up!” the man snapped, “I don't know who your daddy is or whose ass he had to kiss to get you this job but if you’re going to work tonight I need professionalism.”
“I’m not-”
“I said ‘shut up’!” the man shouted once more, giving Peter a little shake to further drive his demand home. Peter was surprised to find himself slightly afraid, and the shake had hurt his ribs and pushed a little too much pressure down his sore leg.
“Please, Sir,” Peter begged, “I’m not working.”
“Oh you absolutely are,” the man snapped, “you think you can sneak through here and meet Iron Man?”
“I didn't-”
“I have half a mind to kick you out into the gutter,” the man continued, “you are a disappointment to all of us in the service industry, you are meant to remain professional at all times, which doesn't mean fishing around for secrets and autographs.”
“I wasn't!”
“Liar!”
The man tightened his grip and started marching Peter forward as though he was a disobedient child.
“Sir, listen, please,” Peter pleaded, “Mr. Stark is waiting for me.”
The man froze, his grip tightening momentarily, and Peter’s Spidey-Sense blared louder.
“You disturbed Tony Stark?”
“No! No, no, no!” Peter insisted, “I came here with him, I’m his intern.”
“That’s a lie,” the man said, “Stark Industries never brings interns to these events, now come with me or I’m going to end up kicking you out on your ass and blacklisting you from ever working an event in New York ever again.”
“You can’t make me do anything,” Peter grumbled, trying to twist out of the man’s hold but being restricted by the pain in his leg and side, he wasn't going to be able to free himself, “you have to let me go?”
“Or what?” the man asked with a sneer in his voice, “what are you going to do about it?”
“Him? Probably nothing, he’s far too polite for his own good, but me? That’s another story entirely,” Peter felt the grip loosen in a second and he almost crashed to the floor from the relief of it, only for Happy to grab his elbow and stabilise him.
“Thanks, Happy,” Peter whispered, knowing the man would hear him.
“You’re Tony Stark’s security,” the man who had grabbed Peter stated with a dumb expression on his face.
“Yes, and you were manhandling one of the people I am here to protect,” Happy said seriously, Peter had often wondered how Happy - with his tendency to get overstressed and his annoyance at most living things - had become the Head of Security at Stark Industries, but now, looking at him confronting the man, he had no doubts that Happy deserved that title.
“I wasn't- manhandling?” the guy asked, “that’s a bit… harsh, wouldn't you say?”
“I call it as it is,” Happy said, “care to explain?”
“I thought the kid was one of my waiters.”
“Did you recognise him?” Happy asked.
“Well, no, but there are a lot of them, it’s difficult to know them all,” the man said.
“That’s dangerous,” Happy said, “it’s fortunate for you that I personally run background checks on everyone working this function, but if you’re not even able to recognise a stranger among your employees then I feel like you won’t have a future organising events for Stark Industries.”
“Wait, no, you can't do that!” the man insisted, “this is my biggest job of the year.”
“It’s a shame you care so little about it then, imagine not caring enough to learn your employees’ names?”
“It was a misunderstanding!”
“Peter, did you try to tell this man you weren't a waiter”? Happy asked patiently.
“I uh said that I’m an intern and that Mr. Stark was waiting for me,” Peter admitted, feeling a little guilty for the ashen look that came over the man’s face when he realised that Peter had been telling the truth, after all, how else would the head of security know Peter’s name?
“Mr. Stark is in fact waiting for you,” a familiar voice broke in, “and he’s not a patient man, what is going on here?”
The man now looked positively grey as he tried to look anywhere but at the confused and impatient billionaire before him, Peter however noticed the way Mr. Stark’s eyes narrowed in on the crumpled fabric by Peter’s neck and the sheen of panicked sweat on his forehead.
His mentor looked questioningly at Happy, “well?”
“This is Bernard Kyting,” Happy said, and Peter was sure in that moment that Happy knew absolutely everyone in the room’s name and face, “he is the owner of the company that organised this Gala, he is also the man that just manhandled Peter and attempted to kidnap him.”
“Kidnapping? What no!”
“Uh, Happy, he wasn't going to kidnap me,” Peter said hesitantly.
“Are you sure?” Happy asked seriously, “because we should operate on the worst-case scenario and him trying to force you to go somewhere against your will without listening to you say you’re an intern and that Tony was waiting for you sounds bad to me.”
“It would probably sound bad to the police too,” Mr. Stark agreed thoughtfully.
“You’re not serious!” Bernard gasped.
“I’m deadly serious when it comes to Peter’s safety,” Mr. Stark said.
“Mr. Stark, I really don't think-”
“Hush Peter, we’re handling this,” Mr. Stark said, “actually, don’t hush, Happy will handle this and I am going to show you off to all the stuffy businessmen here, let’s make them all insecure as a twelve-year-old shows them up.”
“Mr. Stark, I’m fifteen,” Peter said, rolling his eyes.
“Exactly, now come on.”
Maybe it was the anxiety that had been festering in his stomach since he’d been invited to the Gala, or maybe it was the stress of almost being roped into working as a waiter for a high-end Gala, or maybe it was even the blood loss he’d recently suffered… maybe the reason didn't matter, because it was kind of irrelevant.
The important thing was that Peter suddenly found himself falling forward.
He felt hands grab at him to try and stop him from crashing against the ground, but they caught him exactly where his ribs were sore and Peter screamed and everything flashed a brilliant, agonising white before the darkness suddenly crept in.
------
When Peter woke up he was partially surprised that he had actually passed out and partially relieved that he had passed out. He had managed to completely avoid the stress of pretending to know how to act as an intern.
He tried to sit up, only to gasp and fall back against the pillows as his ribs announced their displeasure at the sudden movement, “oh,” he murmured under his breath as he tried to catch what little of it was left thanks to the pain.
“I wouldn't recommend that,” a smooth voice said from beside him, Peter turned his head to see Mr. Stark sitting there, looking over his tablet at him.
“Hey,” Peter mumbled, trying to avoid eye contact.
“You have three fractured ribs,” Mr. Stark informed him casually, “which wouldn't normally concern me too much because I get it, it kinda comes with the job, no matter how good you are, you usually end up a little banged up.”
Peter nodded solemnly, not wanting to speak up because he got the impression that Mr. Stark was nowhere near finished.
“However, imagine my surprise when I lift your unconscious body up off the floor and find myself with a patch of blood on my new grey suit,” Peter winced, yeah, there it was, “so of course, there’s complete pandemonium, we think there’s an assassin in the Gala, we lock the place down and organise S.H.I.E.L.D.’s medics to attend. The highest of all security is on alert and preparing to raid the building, only for us to find that you have a stab wound, that looks to be a few days old on your leg.”
“Oh, that,” Peter mumbled.
“Oh that, yes that,” Mr. Stark snapped, “what the hell were you thinking not telling me about that?”
“It happened after I left the other day,” Peter admitted, “and I thought I’d managed to deal with it myself.”
“You thought-” Mr. Stark broke off and sighed, pinching his nose between his thumb and forefinger, “do you realise how irresponsible that was?”
“It was fine,” Peter mumbled.
“Fine?” Mr. Stark questioned, his voice rising an octave from the shock of hearing such a thing.
“I have healing powers,” Peter said.
“Kid, you’re still human, you still need appropriate medical care and time to recuperate after getting hurt,” Mr. Stark said gently, “you’re not a machine, no one expects you to be able to keep going without looking after yourself.”
“I guess,” Peter whispered.
“And you had no idea what you were doing, did you?” Mr. Stark asked although it seemed like he already knew, “those Steri-Strips were totally inappropriate for that wound.”
“I know,” Peter said, looking down, “I just didn't have anything else.”
“You had your phone.”
Peter cast him a confused look, “my phone? They don't like blood or moisture that much.”
“To… call me,” Mr. Stark said slowly, looking at Peter with a strange mix of disappointment and amusement, “you’re a smart kid, but would you really think to put your phone on a bloody wound before using it to call me.”
“Uh, not usually,” Peter said, “but this kinda happened after I left yours the other day.”
“Ah,” Mr. Stark murmured, seemingly understanding something that Peter hadn't yet explained.
“What?” Peter asked, feeling unnerved by the older man’s sudden understanding.
“I freaked you out with all that talk of colleges and coming to work for Stark Industries,” Mr. Stark said quietly.
“What? No!” Peter almost shouted, jerking upright in the bed despite the pain in his ribs that threatened his ability to breathe, “Mr. Stark, that’s not at all what happened.”
“No?” Mr. Stark asked, arching an eyebrow curiously.
“No, of course not,” Peter mumbled, “I mean, yeah, I wasn't ready to think about that sort of thing, but it would be an honour to work for you in the future, but Mr. Stark, I realised that I’m a really bad intern.”
“What- Kid, no,” Mr. Stark said quickly.
“I am!” Peter argued, “I don’t know how to make coffee, I don't know how to sort paperwork, I don't know what else interns actually do! There’s no way you can say I’m good at it when I don't even understand my own job description. You invited me to the Charity Gala as your intern and I freaked out because I didn't want to embarrass you, I wanted to make a good impression.”
“Kid, I invited you to the Gala as you,” Mr. Stark said, “we both know the internship is a fake formality to keep your alter ego a secret and give you a boost in your college applications.”
“So, you’re not mad that I don't know how to make coffee?”
“I never was,” Mr. Stark said, “wait… is this why you brought me an Americano earlier?”
Peter nodded guiltily, “yeah…”
“Kid, you absolutely did not have to do that, although I must admit since I’m staying away from all the fun stuff now, it was rather nice to have,” Mr. Stark said, “I wanted you there so you could have a good time and so that I could brag about how amazing you are.”
Peter couldn't stop the warmth that spread over his cheeks and he ducked his head.
“I just didn't want to be a disappointment,” Peter mumbled.
“Kiddo, you could never,” Mr. Stark sounded as though he had never been more sure about anything, “I’m slightly upset that you didn't come to me about this wound, but I get that your teenage brain works in mysterious mystery ways.”
“I tried my best with it,” Peter mumbled.
“It’s infected.”
“I didn't say my best was good,” Peter continued, he pulled the blankets to the side to look at the wound on his leg only to find that the bloody, yellowing dressing he had last seen was gone and had been replaced by a bright white one with only a tiny amount od seepage. “You fixed it.”
“Well, my doctor did,” Mr. Stark corrected, “I called him in and we gave you some of Cap’s meds to keep you a little out of it while we cleaned it up and you’re now the proud owner of some stitches.”
“Oh cool,” Peter mumbled.
“Stitches are cool?” Mr. Stark asked with a raised brow, perhaps he was questioning Peter’s sanity.
“No, I got Captain America’s drugs!” Peter said with a smirk, “he always tells us not to do drugs in those PSAs so this is a wonderful twist of medicated irony.”
“Yeah, I think they’re still in your system a little,” Mr. Stark muttered, “so since you’re still a little dopey, I think now would be a good time to remind you that you have three fractured ribs and you’re not allowed to go out as Spider-Man until they’re fully mended.”
“Wait… what?” Peter protested, “why?”
“Swinging will put a strain on them and cause you pain meaning you could flinch and fall, or you could receive another blow and worsen the damage,” Mr. Stark said, “come on, Underoos, you were just bragging about your healing powers, it won’t be forever.”
“But…” Peter hesitated.
“But what?”
“If I can’t be Spider-Man will I still be allowed to come to the workshop?” Peter asked and he focused his attention on fiddling with the sheets rather than facing the look he knew Mr. Stark would cast towards him.
He wasn't ready for the ‘why would you come to the workshop if you’re not needing upgrades?’ response, the one that he knew in his head he was about to receive.
“Kid, what?” Mr. Stark responded instead, “look at me, Peter.”
Peter blinked back the tears that were building in his eyes, trying his best not to appear childish and weak before the man who had been his hero since he was a child.
“Pete, c’mon Kiddo,” Mr. Stark said gently, and Peter found himself unable to avoid him any longer, “I don’t know why you have this idea that I only care about Spider-Man, because you are always going to be my number one priority.”
“But-”
“Uh uh,” Mr. Stark cut him off, “no, you need to listen to this. I’m Tony Stark, do you really think I would have a fifteen-year-old kid running around my home if I didn't want him there? Do you think I’d be texting his Aunt and arranging transport for him when she’s at work? Would I have a ridiculous amount of food and sweet things in my kitchen? Would I brag about him to my colleagues and competitors?”
“But we spend so much time designing stuff for Spider-Man?”
“Because you are Spider-Man and no matter how much I wish you had a safer hobby, I know that you won’t quit helping people just to stop the greying of my hair and the wrinkles that are forming. So instead of sitting here panicking about you getting brutally killed, I help you develop things that will ensure your safety - which you then bypass by trying to teat that wound by yourself.”
“Oh,” Peter mumbled, how had he gotten it so wrong? “I’m sorry.”
“Kid, don't apologise,” Mr. stark said, “listen, I’m the one who’s sorry for making you think that I only cared about Spidey, I know I’m as Pepper would say “emotionally constipated” but I really do care about you and your dorky interests.”
Peter couldn't help but smile, “well, in that case, I’m sorry for freaking out about the intern thing, and for hiding my injuries from you.”
“Those are apologies I can accept,” Mr. Stark said with a smile, “although, I wouldn't be opposed to you turning up with coffee more, especially when we both know Happy’s the one paying for it, just… not Starbucks, ok? Try some smaller places, support local businesses and all that jazz.”
“MJ would love that you said that,” Peter mumbled.
“Yeah, yeah, come on then,” Mr. Stark said, his knees cracking as he stood and stretched.
“Come on?” Peter repeated, “where are we going?”
“Someone has to explain all of this to your aunt and I’m not taking the blow on my own,” Mr.Stark said.
“You can’t throw me under the bus,” Peter protested, “I’m injured.”
“Yeah, and I will be too if you’re not there to soften the blow.”
Peter grumbled under his breath as he clambered out of the comfortable bed, May was going to be so pissed at him, in fact, he’d be lucky if he lived to see his Spidey-Suit ever again. Maybe he should write a will, did he had time for that?
He was pulled out of his thoughts by Mr. Stark moving to his side to support his weight so that he didn't step too heavily on his sore leg.
“You don’t have to help me,” Peter said, “I’ve been walking on it since I hurt it.”
“Yeah and look how that ended up,” Mr. Stark muttered, “anyways, this is as much for me as it is for you. May won’t kill me if she thinks I’m holding you up.”
“You’re using me!” Peter protested.
“Now he gets it.”

Today, I felt the need to mention that my account is 100% Team Brie Larson. I don’t care that people think she’s obnoxious, or arrogant, or whatever they use to justify their blatant sexism and harassment towards her.
I enjoyed Captain Marvel, and if you didn’t - that’s completely fine! I didn’t entirely enjoy Spider-Man Homecoming but I think Tom Holland’s amazing! You can not enjoy a movie, and still respect the actor within that movie!!! You can dislike the actor chosen for a role and still be respectful!!!!!! You can dislike a movie and the actor within it, and give valid arguments as to why you feel this way, while still being respectful!!!!!!!!!! Is Tom Holland the Spider-Man I wanted? No. Could I write an essay about why Andrew Garfield is my personal favorite Spider-Man? Yes. Is Tom Holland a completely valid interpretation of Peter Parker? 100% Yes.
Anyways, I’m looking forward to Captain Marvel 2 and what they’ll do with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers. She’s a completely valid interpretation of the character, and until people have actual legitimate reasons to dislike her besides her being arrogant or overconfident, I’m going to continue stanning the shit out of her.
This stands for Tessa Thompson as well, and every other Marvel cast that’s been shit on for their gender or ethnicity. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Peace.

To Share an Armchair (Tom Holland x Actress!Reader)
Description:  You and Tom appear on Conan to promote your new movie together, Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Little do you know, Tom has a bit more planned than your usual run-of-the-mill interview.
Prequel to The Interview
Tumblr media
I took a deep, nervous breath, my hands wringing together as I looked out into the absolutely packed audience.
“You’ll be fine,” a warm, comforting presence appeared behind me.  I turned quickly to see my best friend, Tom, smiling down at me.  “They love you, and you love them.”
I smiled a bit.  He always seemed to know just what to say to make me feel better.
Tom and I had been working together since the filming of Captain America: Civil War, where I’d played another of Tony’s young recruits.  Now, with the new Spider-Man movie coming out, we were sent to advertise the release.  So, there we stood, on the set of Conan, ready give yet another interview.  Except, this time, we’d be promoting the movie by ourselves.  “I’m just not very used to going out there without an older cast member or producer or something,” I sighed.
“Just be your usual funny, witty, charming self, and I promise you that everything will turn out well,” Tom reassured me.
I nodded firmly in an effort to strengthen my resolve.  “Thanks, Tom.”
“Anytime, sweetcheeks,” he grinned.  I rolled my eyes playfully at the cheesy nickname that he had taken to calling me ever since our second week of filming, claiming that my ‘cheeks were too sweet to be called anything else.’
“And now, please welcome Tom Holland and (Y/N) (L/N) to the stage!” Conan shouted.  Tom walked out, and I quickly followed.  The lights were practically blinding, and my ears were ringing from the very, very loud cheers.  I shook off my fears and muscled my way past the almost overwhelming scene to grin and wave with both hands to the audience before moving to take my seat.
The only armchair available was already occupied by a certain web slinger.  I pouted and crossed my arms.  “I was going to sit there!”
“Well, I’m already here.  Sorry, sweetcheeks,” Tom smirked up at me, settling further into the very comfortable looking chair.
I frowned.  “Aw, c’mon, Tommy!  Pleeeease?” I tilted my chin down and sent him my best puppy dogs.
Tom shook his head.  “Hey, you can sit anywhere you want, but I’m not moving.”
My lips immediately quirked upwards.  “Ok!” I quickly responded before plopping myself down sideways across Tom’s lap with my legs hanging over the other armrest.  His hands reflexively went to my waist in an effort to stabilize me.  Tom stared at me in shock, and I just grinned back triumphantly.
I turned to look at Conan, who was watching the whole ordeal go down with an amused smile.  “Hi, Conan,” I grinned.
The tall man chuckled.  “Hi, (Y/N).”
I had to flip my head upside down to look at Andy, as the armrest that my back was leaning against was the one facing him.  “Nothing personal, I just really wanted the chair.”
Andy scoffed in fake hurt.  “Yeah, sure.  Just pretend you’re not repulsed by me.”
“Well, I am a pretty good actress,” I shrugged, pretending to think it over.
Conan barked out a laugh, and I grinned, straightening back up and settling further into Tom’s lap.  “So I guess (ship name) is real?” Conan chuckled, wiggling his eyebrows.
My face went bright red, and I scoffed.  “Yeah, just about as real as Candy,” I bit back in an attempt to misdirect from my extreme embarrassment.
Conan laughed his big belly laugh again.  “No, (Y/N)’s just unbelievably stubborn is all,” Tom added with a slight shake of his head.
“I’ve heard a few rumors, though, about the two of you,” Conan continued.  “A lot of people are talking about a recent incident involving gymnastics?”
I groaned and hid my face in Tom’s chest.  “Yeah, she was just so graceful,” Tom chuckled.
I hit his arm with a pout.  “Oh, shut up.  It really hurt, ok?”
Tom grinned and turned to Conan.  “You see, we’ve had a wager going on for quite a while over who was the better actor.  So, when we got off set early one day, we decided to prove it once and for all.  We each invented a character for the other to play.  I was supposed to be a foul-tempered, incredibly avid fan of some sort of predatory bird--”
“The eagles, Tom,” I rolled my eyes.  “You were playing a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.  Anyways, Tommy here had decided to make me a world class gymnast.  You know, because I’m so experienced.”
“Whoever was revealed to be lying about their identity first would lose the bet,” Tom continued.  “And he or she would have to do one thing the other asked, no matter what it was.”
“It didn’t go very well,” I sighed, cringing slightly at the memory.  “And I still maintain that I won, by the way!”
Tom shook his head.  “Not a chance, sweetcheeks.  You see, we were talking to a wonderful young lady on the street when I noticed (Y/N) getting a bit excited.  Turns out, she’d noticed a Philadelphia sticker on the woman’s bag.  So she started raving about how much I loved the Eagles and all of the Philadelphia teams.  Naturally, I began talking of her supposed experience in gymnastics.  The woman was rather impressed and asked if she could see her do a flip.”
“Meanwhile, I can’t do any sort of gymnastics to save my life,” I scoffed.  “So instead of flipping, I asked Tom what sport the Eagles play.”  The audience laughed a bit.  “He couldn’t respond, and voila!  I win!”
“Not quite,” Tom chuckled.  “That woman didn’t say a word until you tried to do a flip and landed directly on your bum.  She caught you first, pointing out that you weren’t a gymnast.  Only afterwards did she say I had no idea where Philadelphia even was.”
I frowned.  “Yeah, but she knew you were faking it first.”
“Those weren’t the rules, sweetcheeks,” Tom grinned.  I rolled my eyes.
I’d barely taken notice of the loud laughter until Conan spoke up again between chuckles.  “Here’s a clip from the new Spider-Man: Homecoming in theaters July 7, check it out!”
While the clip played, Tom grinned and poked me in the side.  “You know, I still get to ask you that favor.”
“Fine, I concede.  What do you want, Holland?” I rolled my eyes again.
“You’ll see in just a moment,” he answered, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
I snorted softly in an attempt not to laugh over the preview being played.  “What the heck was that?”
“I was being mysterious!” He defended.
“You looked like you’d lost all control over your facial muscles,” I smirked.
Tom frowned, but before he could reply, the lights came back on.  So instead, he turned to look at our host.  “Conan, before we go, can I ask a favor?”
Conan nodded.  Tom gently picked me up while he stood, placing me back in the seat.  He walked towards the edge of the stage.  I leaned over to Andy.  “Do you have any idea what’s going on?” I stage whispered.
“Yeah, but I’m not telling you.  You didn’t want to sit next to me,” Andy responded with a humph, crossing his arms.  I laughed at his antics.
Tom had returned by that point.  In his arms was the most adorable little creature I’d ever seen in my entire life.  “This is Firestar,” he said, holding up the absolutely precious chocolate lab puppy.  “She’s incredibly stubborn, so I thought you two might get along.”
“Tom, I can’t believe you!” I squealed, accepting the puppy without hesitation.  She immediately started trying to lick my face.
“Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to call in that favor you owe me.”  I glanced up at him suspiciously.  Tom just smiled.  “Go with me to the premier?  As my date?” Tom stood before me nervously, his cheeks bright red, while he anticipated my answer.
My eyes widened, and my breath caught in my throat.  I couldn’t believe he’d actually just asked me out.  Of course I had fantasized about this, but I never actually thought it would happen.
“Say yes!” I random shout from somewhere in the crowd startled me out of my trance.
My face broke out into a huge grin, and I nodded quickly.  “Of course I’ll go with you, you big dummy!” I said, hiding my immense excitement behind the small joke.
Tom’s nervousness melted into happiness, and he rushed forward to hug me, taking care not to crush the puppy between us.
“Tom Holland and (Y/N) (L/N), everybody!” Conan shouted above the cheers.  “Now officially (ship name)!” The cheers and screams got even louder, and I laughed, almost having to cover my ears.  We were both soon ushered off the stage to make way for whoever was next to appear on the show.
When we finally had a minute to breath, I turned to Tom.  “I can’t believe you got me a puppy,” I laughed.  My smiled was still plastered to my face, and I had a feeling it wasn’t going away anytime soon.
“Everyone gets flowers,” Tom shrugged.  I laughed and shook my head.  “So there is one other thing I need to know before we can go on a date.”
My brow furrowed slightly, and my smile wavered.  “What is it?” I asked warily.
“What color is your dress?  I have to know what I’m matching my tie to.”
I pursed my lips in pretend anger, despite the smile that still managed to peak through.  “You jerk, you really had my scared!” I hit his arm.
“Ow!” Tom complained.  He grabbed my hand as it was gearing up to hit him again and pulled me into another hug, still softly chuckling my hair.  I grinned and cradled my new puppy to my chest, who’d already fallen asleep after all the excitement.  I was going to go on a date with Tom Holland.  Maybe I’ll even get to be his girlfriend!

Fly By Night
Tumblr media
Black people don't care about Superman but making him Black in the next series of films, isn't going to solve that the problem. It's his upbringing, the cultural touchstones which define him. Clark Kent is intrinsically White. He looks White, definitely, but he was raised in Kansas, too. That's a Heartland State, places notorious for their aggressive intolerance and laughably disproportionate ethnic breakdown. Eighty-four percent of the people who live there are White and, while that's a stark cry from, say, Idaho's Ninety percent, only five percent of the populace is Black. How the f*ck can Clark BE full-on Black; ethnically, mentally, and culturally, when he's surrounded by so much White?
Tumblr media
The short answer is that he can't. He doesn't have those values or experiences. How can he? He'd be part of five percent in two million. What is that? One hundred thousand, spread out across an entire state? I mean, at that point, he's more Kansas than he is Black so what does "fighting for truth, justice, in the American way" mean to someone from Kansas? A State as Red as a baboon's ass? A State where Trump won fifty-seven percent of the vote in both 2016 and 2020? A State that seems to support the same people that refuse to accept Joe Biden won that race, even after several recounts on their terms, several court cases lost to their judges, and a whole ass attempt to overthrow the government because they didn't like all those L's piling up? Never mind the question of raising a demigod with those incredibly problematic "values", how can a Black person come up in that level of racial animosity, cultural alienation, and abject disdain based solely on how he looks, possibly be all of America's Superman?
Tumblr media
At the end of the day, JJabarams wanting to make Clark a Black man in this next run of films, is just a tone deaf, performative, dog whistle for all the little Blue Checkmark, fake woke, twatter asshole to fellate themselves over. I don't know a single Black person who is gassed that Clark will look like us. Dude basically represents everything wrong with America, to us. Clark is an out-of-touch White guy, born with unheard of power he didn't earn, imbued with a f*cked up savior complex, raised on a steady supply of zealous Patriotic ideals which borders on straight up Nationalism, in the cultural vacuum of Smallville, Kansas. Turning him Black without fixing that origin is tantamount to throwing Blackface on some White actor to play T'Challa instead of casting Chadwick Boseman. Imagine how THAT should would have gone over with the Blacks. Exactly.
Tumblr media
You can't separate Clark from his cultural identity as the Whitest motherf*cker not from this Earth. You can't. It literally defines his entire worldview. Clark's Whiteness is intrinsic to who he is as a person. However, there are alternatives to that which ring truer to a Black Superman, to the Black experience, one of which has a dope ass backstory. Val-Zod, son of THAT Zod, took up the mantle of Superman in nu52 Earth-2. That version of the character could work because his race is intrinsic to his character on both sides; The Kryptonian and the Earthling. He is vague enough of a character to play around with content wise but recognizable enough for literally everyone to not lose their sh*t over Blackfacing Clark. Another lesser known option, the one i would personally pass on, is Kalel of Earth-23. He's a blank slate because no one remembers anything about the dude. Calvin Ellis' last appearance was in 2009 so, you know, have at it, i guess? Both of these options are much better than forcing a White Kent into a Black Peg.
Tumblr media
I'm not usually one to be so uppity about bent characters, be they gender or race. They're just another take on an established fandom and i think that's great, as long as that alteration is respected and adapted into the character properly. Superficial sh*t like turning all of the ginger characters into Black people, just because they're going to be onscreen in some form or another, is f*cking ridiculous to me. Sometimes it doesn't work out all that well, like Iris West in the DCEU. Kiersey Clemons had, like, a minute of screentime in The Snyder Cut so why the f*ck was she even in there? I get you need to establish her as part of The Flash's lore but wait for his actual film if that's all we're going to see of her. Other times, it works very well, like with Mary-Jane and Zendaya. That case was a little more tricky as, at the time Homecoming was in development, Marvel didn't have the rights to the Mary-Jane character so they had no choice but to create Michelle. She's a brand new character who fills the role of MJ but in a completely unique, standalone, fashion. I adore that chick. She and Pete have this adorkable energy together, chemistry attributed to Zendaya and Holland. Ms. Coleman really sells MJ as a proper “MJ” and that's because her MJ is her own “MJ”. And, while we're on the topic of Spider-Man, Miles Morales is exactly how you racebend an established character with any hope of success.
Tumblr media
Mile Morales is the blue print you need to follow in order to make your ridiculous reach at altering such an established persona, in such a drastic way. Miles is, from top to bottom, Black as f*ck. Every ounce of that character resonates with the culture. Early on in hi genesis, it was a little iffy but, as the character has grown, his swagger and identity has become much clearer. It's more defined and rings truer to what we, as Black people, see in the world. Hell, his movie, Into the Spider-Verse, is arguably the best Spider-Flick ever made and it is properly Black as f*ck. From the swagger, the cultural language, the music, the animation style, the tagging; All of it is too Black for words and the country ate that sh*t up. I saw SO much of US in that film and it really lent itself to giving comic Miles the boost necessary to really come into his own. Not to slight his Puerto Rican heritage at all, you get a bit of that, too, but, for all intents and purposes, society at large sees Miles as Black and Spider-Verse leans into that, heavy. Because Miles has no choice but to so as well. Pete had a lot more going for him growing up in Queens thank Clark's halcyon experience in f*cking Kansas, so he was already accepted in the community. You don't do the numbers Spider-Flicks consistently do at the box office without them Black dollars, but Miles was whole ass embraced by the culture. No one is mad at kid now that he is finally himself in the suit. He's not a legacy, he is a Spider-Man. That's how you do it. That's how you make racebending such an intrinsic character to the American zeitgeist, work. You don't dress Michael B. Jordan up as Clark and tell me he's my Superman. That's a lie and everyone is going to see through it. Everyone already has. You don't need x-ray vision for that.

I know you said you wouldn't be sharing spoilers or leaks this time because you don't care that much about this spider movie but can you still do it? With the - read after this-line? So no one can read if they don't want to. It doesn't matter if the spoilers are only rumors! I still want to read what you've got about sm3 thank you and I love your blog!
Sure, why not. Remember these are only speculations, rumors, rumored leaks, and spoilers. None of these are confirmed so don’t start a war for nothing, ok?
(I included irondad stuff lmao and RDJ’s projects)
None of these are mine. I don’t take credit for any of these spoilers.
Spider-Man 3 rumored leaks, spoilers, and more:
Two major villains: Kraven and Scorpion. If the leak can be trusted, filmmakers are eyeing Henry Cavill to tackle Kraven.
Michael Mando sent out a very odd tweet. regarding his previous role as scorpion. It featured only a photo of Mando with a desert back-drop and, in place of a caption, a scorpion emoji.
ET Canada reached out to Sony Pictures to ask about the Maguire and Garfield Spider-Man 3 casting rumors. In response, one Sony Pictures representative gave the short and simple answer of “Those rumored castings are not confirmed.”
Apparently, Spider-Man 3 will be similar to John Wick 3, with Peter Parker having to face everyone.
Based on 4chan leak notes the film will be one of the darker movies in the MCU.
Another leak claims the film’s title is Spider-Man: Home Invasion, with the Sinister Six making up the villains of the film. Some of the villains that might appears: Vulture, Mysterio, Shocker, Scorpion, Electro, and Kraven.
It’s currently unclear whether Michael Keaton’s Vulture or Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio will be returning for Spider-Man 3.
Nick Fury’s new galactic version of SHIELD which fans of the comics know as SWORD, will also be involved in the film which imply galactic repercussions of the Spider-Verse being introduced.
Doctor Strange is less likely to be a mentor - since this film is said to be a Peter Parker story and it's been established that he can stand on his own as a superhero - and more likely to be a supporting figure for a battered Spider-Man to fall back to.
It seems possible that Spider-Man will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange will likely "reset" Peter's world in some capacity, restoring his secret identity at the very end of the narrative, but not without personal sacrifice from Peter and the fallout of the identity reveal having irreversible repercussions on him beforehand, and not without a personal sacrifice.
Someone close to Peter will die. It goes without saying that this movie will probably be darker than the other two.
The real Mary-Jane Watson might appear in the movie: Atlanta Filming posted the following photo from a Spider-Man: Homecoming deleted scene which shows Spider-Man swinging with a red-haired girl. The context of the scene sees Spider-Man in Germany for Captain America: Civil War where Spidey goes out to swing around Berlin and comes across a party where he takes the girl for a ride. The photographer says to remember this photo and that it's significant in relation to something that comes out next year, which sounds like Spider-Man 3 that gets released in 2021.
Spider-Man 3 will bring back most of the cast from Homecoming & Far From Home: Tiffany Espensen, Laura Harrier and the rest of Peter’s on-screen classmates might be coming back.
Sony reportedly wants more Avengers In Spider-Man 3.
Tony Stark/Irondad rumors:
Prolific scooper Mikey Sutton is claiming that Marvel Studios are concocting plans to bring Downey Jr.’s character back without resurrecting him. He might be back for Secret Wars but not as the same Tony Stark. It’s one from another earth/dimension. And this one has a mentor/protegé with Miles Morales, not Peter Parker.
We might (little to none possibility) Tony in Spider-Man 3. "Spider-Man 3," details about the movie and whether RDJ will appear in it remain to be confirmed. However, one of Marvel's executives hinted that fans might see Mr. Stark again soon.
Robert Downey Jr. wanted the studio to warn him about his future cameos: “Right. Great. I mean, it would be nice if they notified me. Forewarned is forearmed. They can do anything now. This could be a deep fake interview for all we know.”
Robert Downey Jr hinted working on another Marvel movie with Russo Brothers in the future: "I'm not sure. Are we in bargaining now? I am so pleased, just that, I wound up where I have. I’m very fortunate so, I’m not the kind of guy who — I want to try to keep it classy. We'll see."
RDJ & Tom Holland projects:
Robert Downey Jr. and wife; Susan Downey are looking to expand the Sherlock Holmes franchise with a cinematic universe.
Robert Downey Jr & Tom Holland might be in Sherlock Holmes 3.
Downey Jr. wants Holland to play a key supporting original role in Sherlock Holmes 3, provided that scheduling conflicts don’t get in the way.
Robert Downey Jr. may return to MCU If he can work with Tom Holland again: It was claimed that his astronomical financial demands were proving to be a stumbling block in convincing him to come back, but apparently, his friendship with Tom Holland could be used as a bargaining chip.
I’ll update if I find more! Thanks♥
