ITF W60 Playford D F: Alexandra Bozovic/Talia Gibson def. Na-Lee Han/Priska Madelyn Nugroho [1] 7-5, 6-4 Match Recap
🎥 ITF Media
This match also contains people I have followed their journey from since several years ago. While I have followed Alexandra Bozovic/Talia Gibson's scores for some time (mostly in the Australian ITFs), this is my first time watching Priska Madelyn Nugroho after a stellar junior career, then pursuing her studies (and tennis) in the United Stated and vultured Monastir all the way before Playford. Interestingly, this is also my first time watching her combining with Na-Lee Han.
The first set saw Priska/Han was solid in 4-1, until the break at 3-4 from Alexandra/Talia shifted the moment right away in the first set. The break happened as a result of the combination between the net game and solid returning, for example on how they nailed the net game that won them the point at *4-2 15-30, around 2 points before they eventually broke. They controlled the flow in a way until they successfully executed the smash. In a similar manner, they broke at 6-5, enabling them to take the first set 7-5.
The swift (mostly backhand) returns, however, caught my attention throughout the second set. Not only the points ended quicker in that regard when the ball was in (and some doubles alley winners, to their credit), but also how they sustain the level from the aforementioned keys to take the second set 6-4. Talia/Alexandra even closed the match with the unreturned serves, even though Priska/Han tried to equalize their net game to take the first point of the tenth game in this set. There were some notable net exchanges as well, but it all boiled down to the points closing, once again.
The Playford title is Talia's third and Alexandra's second ITF doubles title this year. Additionally, this is their first title together as a pair, having previously been a semifinalist in ITF W25 Cairns a month ago. What a week for them.

My current, loose and not that interesting goal for this year is to really work on the books I have current access to right now... at the start of this year. Because it's a lot XD This means books currently favorite in Scribd, on my StoryGraph 'to read' pile, or a book I currently own on my shelves. Main goal is at least one of these a month.
For my own personal reference, I'm putting a list of such books below to hold myself accountable.
Edit: Now the end of 2023, and here's a breakdown of my goal to read books I already had access to at the start of 2023:
I didn't read one a month per se, but I got more than 12 done, so I call this a win. These books are:
-Can't Spell Treason Without Tea - Rebecca Thorn -The City Beautiful - Aden Polydoros -Finn Mac Cool - Morgan Llewlyn -The First Sister by Linden A Lewis (proceeded by the other two in the series) -Get a Life, Chloe Brown - Talia Hibbert -The Glass Castle - Jeannette Walls -Haunted Wisconsin - Michael Norman & Beth Scott -Her Majesty's Royal Coven - Juno Dawson -I Await the Devil's Coming - Mary McClane -The Kraken's Sacrifice - Katee Robert -Lavinia - Ursula K Le Guin -Love Her or Lose Her - Tessa Bailey -Mistress of the Art of Death - Ariana Franklin -Nevada - Imogen Binnie -The Prince - Niccolo Machiavelli -Rosemary and Rue - Seanan McGuire -The Ruins - Scott Smith -The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller -Sarah - J.T. LeRoy -Vampire Forensics - Mark Collins Jenkins -What Happened to You? - Oprah Winfrey -The Witch King - H. E. Edgmon -The Woman in White - Wilkie Collins
The books I did not get around to reading from this list are as follows: Black Water Sister by Zen Cho; Blood Scion by Deborah Falaye (o); The Book of M by Peng Shepard (o); Charity and Sylvia by Rachel Hope Cleves (o); The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (a); The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey (s); Fallen by Lauren Kate (o); Fanny Hill by John Cleland (o); Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender (s); The Glass Woman by Caroline Lea (s); The Great Hunger by Cecil Woodham-Smith (o); Helping Her Get Free by Susan Brewster (o); The Impossible Girl by Lydia Kang (s); Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (o); The Merry Spinster by Daniel Lavery (o); On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong (o); The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang (s); Radiance by Grace Draven (a); Watching the Tree by Adeline Yen Mah (o); The Willows by Algernon Blackwood (s); Wings of Fire (o); Witches Steeped in Gold by Clannon Smart (o); The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid (s)
23/46 Whoa! That's exactly 50% of the books I had on my list! That's pretty cool! All in all, I consider this 2023 goal successfully done!

Book Blurb:
Perfect for fans of Alison Cochrun and Helena Greer, Talia Samuels’ debut sapphic romcom is about one woman who fake dates her friend…only to fall for his sister.
Margot Murray is a newly single, successful businesswoman with no interest in a cutesy seasonal romance after her breakup with her long-term girlfriend. Ben Gibson is an unlucky-in-love sweetheart in need of a woman to bring home for the holidays. Together, they make a pact: Margot gets two blissful weeks away from London in a picture-perfect manor, and Ben gets a fake girlfriend for his holiday at home with his family.
Upon arriving to the manor, Margot meets Ben’s sister, Ellie, who is suspicious of the supposed relationship right from the start. Ellie intends to get to the bottom of their relationship, not being able to see how the two of them work as a couple. As Ellie and Margot grow closer, will Ben and Margot be able to keep the charade up, or will Margot and Ellie risk the chance at something real?
Review:
Newly single Margot has nowhere to spend the holidays so her friend offers her the chance to spend Christmas with his family, the only catch? She has to pretend to be his girlfriend all the while trying not to fall for his sister. Margot has just broken up with her long term girlfriend, the very same girlfriend who was emotionally abusing her. She has no one to spend the holidays with so her friend Ben Gibson offers her to spend it with his family but she has to pretend to be his girlfriend to get his family off his back. It shouldn't be an issue because Margot is only interested in girls.. but the moment she meets his beautiful sister and accidentally motorboats her, things are going to get complicated because said same sister thinks something is up. and that Margot might be a gold digger after her brother (whoops). Thus ensues holiday mischief and misunderstanding! This was an okay Christmas one, the third act fallout/makeup was a bit much for me and the resolution to the big fight didn't really feel all that resolved because of how big the fall out was. I wanted a bit more on the resolution between Margot and everyone because oh boy was it a big mess of a fallout. Overall it's a pretty cute sapphic Christmas read that you should add to your tbr~
*Thanks Netgalley and Alcove Press for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Hello! Can you please help me find a faceclaim that could play the niece of Aaron Hotchner(Thomas Gibson)? I haven't picked faceclaims for her parents yet, but her father is Aaron's older brother if that helps. My character is in her mid 20s and I picture her with brown/black hair. Thanks in advance if you can help. And I love your blog.❤
